As for specific idea's, how about one user (I was thinking you as you started the thread and therefore the verse) creates one Supreme being who makes the Omniverse and then other god like beings who create and rule over they're own multiverses? This allows for infinite stories/RPs and a collaborative verse.

Edit: Obviously there would be more depth to it than that but this is just the basic idea.

I'm still a little iffy on the idea, but I think I'm going have to get everyone else' input.

As for names...how about Omnes Versum? It's Latin (Google Translate Latin anyway) for All Verse.

I like All-Verse, so let's try something along the lines of that.

I think having a set of universes, then having characters from each have to explore and maybe solve some sort of problem across them all would be interesting.

Anyways yeah this sounds awesome. Option 2 interests me the most, and if we're melding it with 4 than I'd suggest a central universe in which the majority of the plot^TM happens which none of the PCs are from, which is the collab 'verse. I'm not too bothered by the name, so whatever floats your boat. Not 100% sure on what universe I'd make yet, but I have a few ideas lying around somewhere.

This is a great idea, I think we should all pitch in and decide on one as a community... and it'll probably end up being traverse town.

As far name...depends what the plot/whole thing will be a about. 'Multiverse Mash Up' is a simple one if you need a name for the planning phase.

Meeeeeh, too generic, not snazzy.

2 and 4 together sound fine and dandy. We could do each universe finding the others on their own, our characters being the brave explorers. Alternativly we could start where they've already integrated with one another, or at least recognise and have come to terms with the others existing. In that case, perhaps the characters could be a part of some multiverse...coalition? Combined force? That deals with something or another. Could be something specific like multiverse police, or something more broad like being apart of the organisation that organises/handles affairs between multiverses.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... I think starting with each universe being unaware of the other would be the more interesting way to start things off - but that's just me. We could do something like a Marvel's Exiles-type thing where people from the multiverse are pulled together by someone to solve problems.

How about having all of us Authors be the supreme beings of our own universes which make up the vast multiverse? Hell we could make an Omniverse to contain our Multiverse within the void and go from there.

Yeeeeeeeah while this would be a good idea for a roleplay, I really don't think this would be what I was going for.

EDIT: Scratch that, I think either a collaboration or explorers is best as with one we collectively build the RP verse from the ground up and with the other we can add random things as we go along.

2nd option certainly sounds the most promising though Explorers sounds fun too. With that being said, you could still merge the universes somewhere down the line.

Yeah, it's still a possibility. Anything's possible in a multiverse.

This idea brought me from the grave. The second option sounds the coolest until I end up having to write for some edgelord's post apoc cyberpunk dystopia world.

I'm going to make you write for an edgy post-apocalyptic cyberpunk dystopia world for awakening.

2nd might lead to a few issues I think since your character isn't yours, its someone elses and they dictate your stats and abilities and everything, a big no-no in tabletops. Multiverse allows the most freedom for character design, but they tend to go strong and die off very fast without constant GM direction. Explorer is the same thing, but it allows a more structured story so its not as taxing on the GM.

So my vote is for explorer.

Sooooooooooooooooo I think you totally misread what I wrote. They're not writing the character, but instead the universe the character lives in. They're not gonna be setting the stats or whatever for your character, but instead the world.

2 and 4 are my top picks. 2nd one sounds like an interesting writing excercise and seeing how others explore the material you've provided/made, and 4th sounds neat because I sure do like discussing ideas. Only one I'm a bit iffy on is 3, and when I say iffy, I more mean it makes me think of Kingdom Hearts and how silly that can be at times. Which is great, I love silly things like Cloud telling Sora to "EVOLVE OR DIE."

I think Kingdom Hearts was more of a multiverse in how it was treated, but that's irrelevant.

But, now that I have a good playerbase, I have a few questions:

1. What kind of universes would you make/adapt?

2. What kind of name do you think this project should have? I was thinking Megaverse or Counter-Point/Part.

3. Would you all like to do a mixture of ideas two and four?

Alright scrubs, it's time for me to push my idea of an OC-multiverse of sorts. After like two failed attempts, I'm going to try another angle in hopes that it works. I'm going to attempt to ask you, the community, the best way to handle this project and what you want to see coming from it. Now the basis is that people create their own universes and we tell stories within them, they can be existing RP universes or something created entirely from scratch. What kind of stories we tell depends entirely on you all and your input, I have a few ideas.

Possibilities

■ Generic RP multiverse: We make our own universes, make characters from our universes, then we come up with a storyline for them all. This could be fun, but generic.

■ Not so generic RP multiverse: This is my favorite idea thus far, we all make our univereses, but we make a character from someone else' universe. This can either be chosen or randomly decided, but I think this has the highest potential.

■ Merged Universes: The multiverse has been merged together because reasons, creating some sort of weird amalgram of all these worlds. Schnannigans ensue.

■ Collaboration universe: Maybe we could also work together to build a new RP world with or without the multiverse?

■ Explorers: We make universes, then we have a cast of people go out and explore the other dimensions?

That's just a couple ideas, if someone else has a better idea of what to do, then make sure to give me a shout. I want to do what you all want to do regardless of how stupid it is what you all choose. I'm tired and 25% sick atm, so my thoughts aren't as collected as they usually are.
