I love these sorts of socio-political/philosophical arguments. I prefer to take an objective standpoint(cause I like you people and I don't want to alienate anyone.)

Keep in mind, too far into the dark and you will become a Sith in less than 2-5 posts which we’ve had happen. A fact none of the GMs were too pleased about since it prevented the Sith from completing their task and actually interacting with the Jedi that turned. He was viewed as weak minded in the IC which for Sith, is a very, very bad thing. I also suspect the reason for that was because of @Rtron’s OoC joke about making the Jedi a girl instead of a boy in a very unpleasant manner. XD

Also keep in mind, Jedi seen or known to use Dark Force powers would be in deep shit with the Council as it promotes the power of the dark side and could influence like minded Jedi into using them as well. This would result, at least in the Council’s views, to the Jedi struggling in war to follow the mentality of seeking out power which will cause the Sith ranks to grow. So if your Jedi did use Darksided Powers, he would end up having to hide that fact he was able to because it would bring shame and possibly removal from the Jedi or merely sidelining him. While it’s an interesting concept, it’s hard to play line. I suggest looking over the many Jedi that tread it in different ways and here’s two primary examples:

Played by @Dervish: Tolun Fi, whose mindset is purely scientist and his intentions seem righteous, mentality can lead to sacrificing the few for the many or not acting on/engaging in situations he knows is against the Jedi teachings (ex: witnessing Nyiss’ experiments without trying to stop them immediately, which he did in the last version). Something an individual can see as darksided in a way and certainly not very Jedi like.

Played by @Themerlinhawk: Alat, whose mindset is a hunter and predator, meaning unless he cares for you than he isn’t overly concern for your well being or will risk himself to protect you. Survival and individual motives are his primary drive which is very dark sided if you think about it. Currently, for the first motivation, he’s already made a deal with Sith because of his consideration over his future after the war. Even in his act to save an ally, he’s already using it as a way to help the Sith.

These PCs are good examples of incorporating dark side influences without literally being able to use the dark side through the force. They are also examples of unothodox Jedi that don’t shatter the mold excessively.

Looks like a primary reason to kill him to me. :p Can't have perfection in a rp that depends on flaws, weaknesses, and different perspectives.

To help get you guys over your fear of transforming, I should start a magical girl arena battle in my setting where magical girls can have additional transformations after the first one as well as some of them having legendary transformations that have various abilities depending on which one. The best suits can be a match for dreamers. At suit level 1, four or so girls accidentally overthrow an entire goblin-like empire by overzealously defending themselves during a lunch break when an enemy patrol ambushed them.

I'm almost done with Jacer, save for background/world/history/etc, the rp flavor stuffs, but is it reasonable to be terrified of showing him publicly? >_> Namely as I'm not sure if he's balanced enough or not really...
