Okay! Post is up.

Feel free to intervene, or to start your own trouble somewhere else. I'll make sure the action keeps on moving either way.

You all also might be interested to see that I've added a section for swords to the pinterest board.
“Next time we’ll see Orob’s continuing clashes with the Pink Daisho Clan. Meanwhile, the Street Samurai crew gets an exclusive interview with an indie Ronin, who will be streaming the event live! Check his twitter @ChrunchyRolla for det-”

The TV turned off and the man on the couch called over his shoulder.

“I didn’t know we were clashing with the Daishos.”

“Stop watching that shit. If I could kill the cameramen without turning all the other kiddie samurai against us, I would.” He was a much older man, graying hair tied back. Two swords were sheathed, propped against the desk he sat at, counting money and going over files. “It’s just a game to those little shits.”

“The millenials are killing the samurai industry!” he laughed from the couch.

The older man chose not to respond to this, and instead said, “Mr. Hamayoto hasn’t paid this month, that’s odd. He’s usually prompt.”

“Should I take some muscle and go rough him up?” He was already tying his sword on, and walking to the coat rack that had his robe on it.

“Learn some respect and subtlety. Pay him a visit, ask what’s happening and if he needs more time - yes, you can wear your sword - If he says yes he does, tell him two days. Then bring some muscle to rough him up.”

Shinobi strolled up Dogenzaka Hill, most other passersby giving him a wide berth. Some greeting him cheerily, and most of the shop proprietors gave a respectful nod or wave. Mr. Hamayoto ran a little noodle stand on the Hill, which was usually considered Orob territory. While they could be scary in their own way, the people here knew that the Orob looked out for their own. As long as they paid tribute.

Something was wrong, though. As he walked on, the street going forward was emptier, and some people were even avoiding eye contact with him. Shinobi just barely caught sight of a man with a kusarigama, the chain wrapped around his waist, as he turned and walked down an alley upon seeing the ronin. That was trouble, he knew. Shinobi casually laid his right hand on the sword at his side gripping the scabbard loosely, but pushing on the hand guard with his thumb to loosen it.

A slurping and crunching noise was drifting down the street, accompanied by a smell like rotting meat. Hama Noodles was ahead, and the curtain was ripped most of the way off, though there was still light in it. Shinobi could see a shadow moving from within, four arms on the form, the upper two looked to be uppending a bowl into the creature’s mouth.

His left hand came down to the sword’s hilt now.

Before he could get the drop on it, the man with the chained blade strolled out of an alley between Shinobi and the stand. He looked cooly at Shinobi and stepped into the stand and out of sight. Shinobi heard a murmured conversation, and then the man emerged again, followed by the oni.

It was a black skinned one, easily eight feet tall, and had four arms. The upper right arm grabbed a club the size of a man from somewhere in the noodle stand, and hefted it over his shoulder.

“Come to join me for dinner, little samurai?” His voice was like gravel being shoveled into a furnace.
Oh, that's what I was saying feel free to.

I'm working on an opening post, so we'll be starting pretty soon. I'll probably include them in, if there's gonna be characters from them.
@GingerBoi123

Feel totally free, and have multiple characters if you want, and think you can handle following all of them.
@rocketrobie2

I fixed the link, very sorry about that, and unfortunately I lost a lot of photos. I'm not sure why or how, Pinterest was being weird.
There's a list of gangs and NPC Ronin at the bottom of the opening post, now. Feel free to use them in your own post, with the exception of members of Orob, who may be important for plots.

Also, I have a giant ass pinterest board I made for this, so if you have any trouble coming up with a chracter or just finding a picture, feel free to peruse

EDIT: I messed the board up really bad, I'm trying to fix it, but I guess it's not super important.
I did! I just fixed it, though, go back to the other thread and click it again.

Make sure you refresh the page, though, so you get the edited version of the link.
WHOOPSIEDOODLE!

Linked to the wrong thread, sorry all. I've just fixed the link, it should be going to the right place now.

I've got the OOC up over here, feel free to post your CS's. I'm going to get to work on an opening post here soon, too.

Burokun City plays host to two equally unwelcome groups:

The Oni, who are eternally hungry, and violent. Known to take over entire neighborhoods, demanding tribute at the threat eating the citizens and their children.

And the Ronin. Roving street thugs whose only redeeming quality is that they kill the Oni when possible. Local opinion is far more mixed on the Ronin. On the one hand, they terrorize the streets and demand unconditional respect and fealty. On the other, they're human, and rarely actually kill the citizens.

The entire situation is made worse by the reality TV show, Street Samurai, which follows the Ronin and their fights and lives for views and ad revenue. The show is very popular outside of the city, and particularly in America, but is basically taboo to those who live in Burokun. The producers of Street Samurai act as middle men between the Ronin(who for obvious reasons tend to keep anonymity) and sponsors, who seek to capitalize on the Ronin, who will gladly wear their logos in exchange for a nice sword, or fancy gadget. It's the cheapest advertising available, all things considered, and hits a fairly wide audience.

So aside from this framework for the story, basically anything goes for this game. Bring me your Mary Sues and self inserts. This here is just for everyone to have some fun free of judgements and restrictions.

The only real rule is to be nice to each other, and as explained below, there is a system in place to make sure the outcome of pvp fights is fair.

Name:
Alias:
Appearance:
Alegiances: this can be blank for now, as these will probably appear during the course of the roleplay.
Style: Fast, Strong or Tough. Explained below.
Weapon(s):
Special Abilities:

Because characters will likely clash, I have a simple system to make sure that deciding the winner is fair. There will be a rock-paper-scissors style stat. Fast beats strong, strong beats tough and tough beats fast.

Unless the two players mutually decide who will win in a fight, the two will have a die rolled to represent them, and the higher roll will win. If one of them wins the rock paper scissors stat thing, they will have advantage, in which their die will be rolled twice, and the higher value will be used.

So if a fast fights a strong, the fast will get the advantage. If a fast fights a fast, they will just roll normally.

Once a winner is decided(either by mutual agreement, or with a roll of the dice) you just RP the encounter as you normally would.

Lemme know what people think, and feel free to voice any concerns.
