Is the rioting and BLM brought up yet?

Honestly, I don't get the grief given to SAO when there's stuff like Mushoku Tensei where the MC actively lusts for underaged girls. And it's the most popular isekai in Japan.

Also, it's kinda annoying going back and forth writing short replies since I got other stuff to do and that just interrupts my rythm.

inb4 Kanako wears a low-cut tight pants that shows off her panties anyways if she were to bend over

@Regitnui
What can I say? Kanako loves airy clothing.

Hmm, sleeveless white blouse and denim pants, up to second button unbuttoned. That's pretty lewd. I imagine you can catch a peek of her bra if you were to stare down at her.

Kanako had no idea that the pair had just gazed upon what shouldn't be gazed. And thank the spirits for that as she would probably turn red and get angry all over again, even though this time it's totally her own fault. She would be fine with a girl looking them up as she was no stranger in nudity among other females thanks to the changing rooms she had to utilize every time there was a gym class in her old school but a boy was another matter entirely. If she had known that at her old school the boys liked to peep on the girls changing from a small hole on a wall that none of the girls knew about, well, let's just say there would be a storm coming their way.

When she got close to the two, she noticed the girl burying her face on the boy's shoulder, with steam coming out from the top of her head. Wait, steam? That looked like something that came out of an anime, but it was very much real. Could it be that it was a case of her elementalist ability activating on its own? So the girl would be what, fire elementalist?

"Um Y-yeah we're fine, thanks for coming along when you did." the boy said to her awkwardly. Kanako also noticed that the boy was blushing a bit as well.

What is up with these two, she thought.

"Yeah, I'm lucky I was born a wind elementalist so I could just blow all that smoke away with my power," she answered. "Though it seems it wasn't a fire that caused it, as I didn't see any smoke coming out from anywhere else."

Kanako then looked back at the girl who was still puffing steam out of her. Putting two and two together, she finally had an idea on what just happened.

"Uh, were you the one that made all that smoke, miss?" she asked her. "Was she the one who did it?" she also asked the boy. "I-it's alright, I won't be mad. Just asking, that's all. I can't control my power fully either. You should be able to feel a small breeze of wind circling around me right now." Like before, her hair was gently swaying around even without a wind blowing. The hem of her skirt as well and once again Kanako thoughtlessly stood in front of them, exposing her panties once more thanks to the fact that the two was sitting.

Writing it now. Just woke up after I slept through the day thanks to my flu.
I'm interested. Probably will run a gender bender character
"Must... retreat... regroup... retreat... regroup..." Marianne mumbled as she ran away. Even when Fariha took a grip of her shoulder, stopping her on her tracks, she was still in her mumbling delirium.

"U-uh? F-Fariha? I-is that you, Fariha?" she said to the elf, her eyes glazing around everywhere, "T-that's great! T-the more the merrier, they say! B-but I think we still need more people though so w-we should go back for now, yes?"

When she felt Fariha dragging her by her hand towards the direction where the horrible bell sound came from, she tried to go back to the other direction, resisting Fariha's tug. But Fariha's grip was strong, and her strength was currently gone due to how much she was shaking. So she couldn't really do anything as she was forced to follow Fariha forward. Fariha's words of encouragement didn't really have an effect in calming her down, it seemed.

Thankfully, she soon got her much needed cure, in the form of a good old blunt force to her head. In a single moment, she actually managed to overpower Fariha, but she was surprised by the force she was giving to get out from her grip, making her trip on her own dress. She fell to the ground, face first, accompanied by a loud ripping sound. It would actually be quite a comical scene if not for the situation they were in.

That was enough to bring Marianne back to her senses, so as she got up, wiping her dirty face with her hand, she said to Fariha, "T-thank you for stopping me. I've seemed to become overcome by fear thanks to that terrible sound of a bell. Surely you heard it too, Fariha. It echoed through your deepest veins, turning your blood cold and addling your mind. I tried to cover my ears but it did nothing to preserve my calm mind. It was certainly... an embarrassing thing for an adventurer to do so I would like to apologize for my weakness also." Marianne did a little bow to add to her apology.

"And speaking of embarrassment, it seems I have... ah... ripped the front of my dress when I fell to the ground. Perhaps you could see it with your sharp vision but now my legs and thighs are quite visible. I'm just warning you since you would see my insects swarming there so please do not be alarmed."

Marianne could feel her cheeks reddening a little. Ever since she was fourteen, she only wore long dresses that covered her legs all the way to her boots. This reminded her of her childhood days where it was common for young noble girls to wear knee-length dresses. She could imagine her mother freaking out when she saw her at this unladylike state.

...Well, she really shouldn't feel terribly shameful as she got her insects covering her down there. Most people would just feel disgusted at the sight, which was why she wanted to warn Fariha first. She didn't know how good her vision was after all.

"At the very least, I should be somewhat more mobile now, though I certainly wouldn't be able to compete with your agility, Fariha," Marianne added with a light chuckle. On many aspects, she was the opposite of the elf, even though they both fought from a distance.

"Now, let us make haste. I worry about Siph and the others."

Esther von Degraff

Finally, the attack was over, with no casualties at all in their side, including the scout who only fell unconscious, not dead thankfully. Esther looked around with her characteristic bright smile as she saw everyone gather. She was glad that even though they were ambushed, they managed to come out unscathed.

Her smile didn't disappear as the captain gave her after-battle briefing, as she praised them for surviving their first battle. She was certainly proud of herself, as she had always thought she would run away or at least paralyzed in fear when she entered real combat. But today, she had proven to herself that she was capable of fighting just like the other cadets.

Her smile disappeared however when Althea sourly scolded her for her late arrival.

"I-I'm sorry!" she quickly apologized to the medic after the captain finished talking to her. "I-I was occupied with protecting the others you see!" Her eyes started to water. She really didn't want to disappoint her team mates. It's similar to how she didn't want to disappoint her grandfather, which was why she went to the academy in the first place. For all her cheerful personality, she actually had quite a low self-esteem inside.

She brought her lowered gaze back up, only to see that Althea wasn't really paying attention to her as she was occupied with the book on her hand. It seemed that the medic didn't really care that much about her blunder, which brightened her up somewhat. Curious, she got closer to her and took a peek at the book herself.

It seemed to be a journal of some sorts, the journal of the wounded scout it seemed. His name was Wagnil, and at first it was just some field reports that Althea quickly flipped over. But then, she flipped over to the page with a sketch of some soldiers. And they looked eerily similar to the soldiers they just defeated. So this poor man had seen this coming and was coming to warn them about the ambush? But in the sketch, they seemed to be guarding a coach and heading to Orello so he didn't know they were coming for them? After that, Althea flipped over some more pages about Wagnil rambling about their suspicious movements until she got to a page where he stated the conversation that he overheard from them, something about the special cargo they were guarding and how easy it was to get. And after that, some more scrawls that she couldn't make any sense whatsoever.

...No good... she's not good at deciphering this kind of stuff... her head started to ache when she put her mind into thinking about it...

"U-um, I-I'll go look around now!" she hastily declared to the medic before departing. She didn't want to be asked on what she thought by either her or the Captain on the journal, as she would just embarrass herself with just how shallow her analysis must be. So she decided she would do the Captain's orders to burn their unneeded equipment as she said they needed to leave no trace of their existence.

She headed straight to her tent, and sorting through her backpack, she found her spare dresses and undergarments. She had a thought of burning them as one of the "unnecessary" things they were supposed to discard but she quickly dismissed the thoughts. They were certainly essential, as she couldn't imagine herself wearing the same clothes for a prolonged period, especially with how dirty and sweaty they tend to get. So she looked around once more. Water bottle? Necessary. A box of cookies? Necessary for extra rations. Her secret mini-teddybear? Can't go to sleep without it.

In the end, she thought everything was essential so she ended up discarding not a single thing.

After that, she quickly headed back outside to do the captain's other order; searching the enemy for any intelligence or identification they could find.

This was no easy task for Esther either as when she got close to one of the enemy corpses, she quickly became squeamish at the thought of sorting through it. However, the captain's orders were absolute. That was one of the first things they drilled into her head when she first joined the academy. So she just had to be brave and tough herself up.

...In the end however, her efforts were in vain. None of them had any identification with them. They only had a similar tattoo on their lower necks, a really suspicious-looking tattoo of a snake curled around a dagger. She also noticed that they didn't all look like the Grand Duchy's people. One of the bodies she inspected looked like it belonged to an Alliance citizen. What's up with that?

Well, no matter. Her job was only to report her findings to the captain. Let her do all the thinking.

"Reporting in, Madam! The enemy didn't carry any identification with them! But they all have similar tattoos on their necks! A-and some of them looked like they came from the Alliance!" she shouted while giving a salute once she returned back to the captain.
