In SoL, the 'goals' become the drama and interpersonal connections/histories players make with each other. Plus setting in in places like a school/college for example give you a timeline to work with.

Time to start the hunt for a decent SoL RP. I could make one, but it would be nice to be a player and a GM for once xD

About
Been at this game for a good while now. Starting RPing at the tender age of 15 back when Bebo was a thing. A year later I found myself forum Roleplaying and haven't really looked back since. Over these past ten years I have done practically every kind of RP you could imagine from Nation RPs and Arena RPs to 1x1s and Large group RPs. My last RP hobby was fighting RPs, which I have now decided to leave behind in order to pursue more SoL style Rps.

Outside of RP I am an aspiring writer, despite being terrible with words, as well as an avid gamer. If I am not on discord with the Guild or RPing in some way, I am probably on either my PlayStation or on Steam. Moved into D&D and ended up starting a podcast that has been an interesting journey.

@Cerces22 Approved.

@Hedgehawk Bruh. You're the GM. Just move your character over.

Still wanted to be polite xD
Hey!

Just wondering if there anymore slots open for this?
Hey @Dead Cruiser,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I should have really replied to this sooner but got slightly waylaid by things today.

So, we currently have a bit of a tie break going on, with one Co-GM on either side of the fence. So I guess I actually have to do my job for once and make a decision!

I will say that the power is very neat. You can tell that you have really thought this concept through. That being said however, I personally don't think it is a good fit for the universe. I appreciate that you say that it is highly underpowered, but with a power that is so broadly defined as this, it can be very easy for something to become over powered, whether the intention is there or not. Not saying that you would overpower it of course.

The original version of this RP didn't really include any Supernatural elements, mainly to avoid certain situations like these. I hope this doesn't put you off joining the RP at all.

The main reason for the ban in forbidden magics is that Aloysius himself is not keen on them. (Though he may be hypocritical there.) He us trying to win over the hearts and minds of the zmsgi to his cause. Most if the forbidden magics are considered taboo, so if he allowed theur use in the DS it woukd only strengthen the popular opinion of the Magi to have them destroyed.

Forbidden msfuc includes Necromancy, Blood Magic, Poession Magic and chronomagic.Rune Magic us a little but more complicated. Rune magic involves drawing a symbol upon a surface using magic infused energy, usually drawn frkn the casters soul. These runes, depending on what was drawn can have varying effects, from harmless to outright lethal. Ontop if this, Runes tend to degrade the soul if the user, shortening theur lifespan with each use. Given the lack of Magi alive anyway, losing done to Rubemsgic could be problematic.

Therefore Rune Magic is mostly taboo. The only really exception is the use of defensive runes to fortify locations etc. This is down to the fact that defensive runes are less soul intensive and the would can recover from them. Offensive runes deal alot damage to the soul and in some cases are even irreparable.

As for your suggestion with ghosts and dead interaction: The walking dead is a thing that doesn't exist. That kind of necromancy hasnt been seen in a long time and Salem and Al are both in agreement the would want to keep it that way. As for ghosts it is indeed possible for the soul to stay behind after death. Normally they pass onto the afterlife completely of their own accord. Occasionally they have to be pushed. But someone could interact with them. (I don't want to say anything else as we start getting into spoiler region)

I hope that has helped you somewhat.
@Sassy1085

Ykur CS looks Intresting. Also Zendaya

@HaleyTheRandom will look over it too whe. She gets time to give final approval since she is the Guild Leader.
@Tominas @Rhiven Knight

The Dark Shadow was labeled as terrorists by The Guild, mostly after they attacked Guild HQ. Until then they were pericived as a bunch of angry Magi that had a grudge against the Guild.

Without writing a whole lore document, the Dark Shadow was formed by Aloysius after his mother manipulated him into believing that Magi were superior to the Non-Magi, and that The Guild leadership were planning to have him killed. (Which wasn't the case.)

Since the Guild was the only authority of Magi on the planet, it has always been the view of it's The Guilds way, or prison. Maybe even death. Not everyone agrees, but for the common good everyone obeys. So when Dark Shadow formed it caused ripples through Magi world. Suddenly there was an alterative. If people had a grudge against the Guild there was now somewhere they could go without fearing Guild reprisement.

For a while things stayed quiet, with a odd cold War style peace existing between the two. That changed when Aloysius (Under his mother's influence) attacked the Guild and pulled of what many thought were impossible, and killed the Guild leader. Many thought that it could have been the end of The Guild, but instead once Salem rose to power she doubled down, and waged a rapid campaign that saw the Dark Shadow almost elimated. Many members were imprisoned or killed and Aloysius and his most senior aides who had survived (Currently only Ty and Emily) went underground.

That was approximately 4years ago, and now Aloysius has clmabered out of the woodwork and is making moves again. If you believe The Guild propoganda then the DARK Shadow is nothing more than a group of edge Lords who are trying to plunge the world into evil and chaos. However some Magi argue that Aloysius is actually showing an alterative to Guild leadership. Afterall, the existence of magic hasn't been revealed to the Non-magi since Aloysius has been around. And he seems rather charismatic. (They haven't actually met him at this point. Dark Shadow might not be perfect, but neither is the Guild, especially since Salem took charge.

I hope that helps clarify things a bit more.
