GMing a large group?

@Mae A large group can be tricky, especially after about the first 20-30 posts when the stories are starting to take root and develop.

1) Plan out in advance as much as you can
2) World Narratives can help a lot because not all characters will be around each other all the time. These help you break up how much information you are having to dump at once
3) Try to make each rpers experience unique. With large groups it is easy for one or two rpers to get left in the dark, find ways to make sure each character in the rp has something to do
4) Walk the balance between speed and slow posters. The larger the group the more diverse the posters will be. Make sure to have a minimal posts between last rule but also a must post by this day. It helps tremendously with keeping the posting momentum going without getting over whelming.
5) Chat room, private for your rpers. It's better than pm's much of the time for the exchange between many rpers during a short period of time.
6) Utilize colabs for small talk exchanges but don't let your rpers drag it out either.
7) Keep notes in a pm to yourself!

Personality: Raised by image conscious celebrities for parents, Marcel had been encourage to always appear at his best around people and believes that good first impressions is a crucial element to winning allies. Though Marcel was never into the political scene that his parents are so occupied of yet the idea of it has always stuck on him. He has a fondness for the classics, an interest he shared with his mother while growing up in a sheltered environment, from literature to plays and music. Much like his mother he usually spends his time unwinding with a good book, listening to classical music while sipping a glass of the finest Corellian brandy.

Marcel shows great devotion to his work, and gets the job done as expected without faults and remorse, as it strictly should being an agent of the bureau. Although that doesn't mean he is unshaken of the things that he does, extracting information from a prisoner through inhumane tortures, setting up surveillance at suspected traitors within the empire and even enforcing decisions such as blowing up an entire colony to prevent a growing coup against the Empire. Despite it all he firmly believes that such is the most effective way to get the job done without any setbacks and he'd reason his growing doubts of morality with pragmatism and practicality.

Though some would be intimidated or annoyed by his egoistic personality, Marcel has his way of charming people intentionally or otherwise. His engaging personality and devilish good looks has won him a handful of admirers. If he weren't a soldier of the empire, he would've been great in politics like his parents but, as always, Marcel never had an interest in meddling with such affairs, "Too much faking, gets rather tedious in the long run" he would say, much to his parents disappointment.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did:

Marcel's family is loyal to the Empire, ever since they have planted him their ideals and propaganda which he had adapted while growing up. Though he could not help question the morality of what they do, he believes that the Empire is the order the galaxy needs in order to lead it's civilization to glory.

Aside from the investigation assignments off planet, the bureau assigned him in internal affairs on board the Vindicator, keeping a close eye for any possible turncoats within its crew. He is tasked to do impromptu inspections and eliminating and replacing questionable officers by ISB's orders.

History:

Marcel was born to a force sensitive lineage. Both of his parents were distraught that they bore a son without such abilities yet they honed and trained him to be a devout follower of the Empire. They had plans for him to enter in politics just like they did, and their patience stretched thin when their only heir refused to take part of political affairs. Adding to the shame was his "unorthodoxed" preferences that made the family the center of public scandal. To his parents wishes he concealed his feelings and overtime he made up for the embarrassment when he excelled in his academics and made a name for the family. The moment he came of age, his father urged him to enroll in the ISB Academy, after graduation he enlisted and for a short time took part in military operations as a prerequisite.

At 24, his first major mission as an agent was to investigate an underground rebel group as well as an assasination plot on one of the Empire's senators. He did his job with diligence, taking necessary precautions such as effectively interrogating civilians, raiding possible hideouts and, in a more under the radar approach, going undercover on Rebel gatherings. One of this undercover assignments at a cantina in Seswena, he met and became fast friends with a gregarious ex-Imperial officer. They would regularly meet while Marcel would be undercover on their whole encounter, and with their regular meetings and engagements the young man came to develop feelings for the officer to w/c he returned as well.

As love can make one do stupid and naive things that later ends in regret, Marcel eventually let him in his secret and everything that's happening, with the purpose of protecting him when the chaos arises. They fantasized of running away one day when all this is over, leaving the war behind to live a life of peace and tranquility. All of that instantly changed years later when a group of incognito rebels had somehow found the targeted politician's safehouse location and at one point even came close to eliminating him. That's when Marcel and his team doubled their efforts on the investigation when, finally they found the mole that had been ratting them out to the rebels. The agent was in shock and furious to know it was his lover, blaming his carelessness that had put the empire in danger. They try to extract information on the mole who was slumped to an electric chair, though Marcel was stoic as he sent every shock of electricity to his love's battered body, he was on the verge of breaking down in his every cry for mercy.

Half dead, they finally made him crack of the rebel group's hideout as soon as they had the location, Marcel plunged a dagger to his heart, his last dying words to the Agent was to let him know that whatever lead him to this, he hadn't regretted every second of it. Marcel mourned him, and it greatly showed through his performance, which is more vicious than usual. He wouldn't hesitate to kill an uncooperative civilian, or show extreme harshness to his subordinates. It was the event that entirely changed him, made him overcautious of people specially the ones that got so close. To make up for his past incompetence, he personally led the attack on the rebel group in the planet and eventually wiping any rebel activities, to which Marcel had won recognition within the ISB.
