⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Anisa & Jahosafat

Location: Lady Luck: Table Main Room
Skills: Jack-Of-All(Anisa), Recruiting (Anisa), Carouse (Jahosafat), Social Science -> Psychology (Jahosafat)

Anisa leaned back in her chair and gave a glance in Jackies direction. A bit of a smirk curling at the corner of her mouth as her eyes drifted over to Fitz. "Oh you misunderstand..." she said in a smooth voice. She was speaking to Jackie but her eyes locked with Fitzs and she refused to look away. Her finger running over the rim of her shot glass that the waitress had just refilled. "It has nothing to do with the kid. It's taint by association. Wouldn't look very good if I went and hired the boy after he was recommended by the girl I just fired. Though I wonder..." she said as her voice remained steady, a bit too steady.

The captain would have said more right then but there were two additions made to the table, Foy and Jahosafat. Seemed they had decided to return. Jahosafat was walking arm and arm with the "Barber?" to the table. He had his usual broad grin on his face as he stepped over and removed his hat. "Well I do say, you put on one hell of a show my dear captain. Quite captivating it was to be able to have grabbed not only my own but my compatriots attention. Though apparently not enough to grab the Preachers." He chuckled a bit as he glanced back and up towards the door where Atticus had peaked his head out from earlier. "Well you had snatched the bible thumpers consideration but it seems that it was only a fleeting thing as he looks to have returned to the carnal indulgences I so wish to be participating in currently. Yet as a gentleman of Farraday, when a lady draws a weapon, a man stands at attention. In more ways than one," he said with a exuberant intonation.

"Good god..." Anisa said under her voice as she stopped fondling her shot and downed it instead. Letting the fiery liquid rush down her throat and happily turning her attention to Harper as he spoke to her. Her eyes glanced down at the plate as it was placed in front of her. "Just stay close, at this rate I am sure you will have a job to occupy yourself with before the evening is out," she said as she looked over to her pilot. Granted, at that moment it wasn't clear what job she had in mind. Yet shooting Daphne or Jahosafat was on the table, but then again, Mei could use an audition.

Picking up her chopsticks she noticed Dorothy and her lips thinned. The fact she hadn't yet shot the womans sister was a good enough sign that her cheese hadn't slipped entirely off its cracker. She simply nodded at her friend, confirming that it was fine if she stepped out and got some air. Probably for the best, Dorothy looked more upset about the situation than Daphne did. The fact Daphne still hadn't even blinked over the entire bullet going off at the side of her head made Anisa wonder who was the crazy one right then.

Then again, as Jahosafat stood there and looked over the group he was beginning to wonder a few things himself. One was just what was going on with the Captain. A sly smirk came to his lips as a few ideas crossed his mind. Dorothy seemed to be acting as the status quo for such a situation witnessed by a second in command. Obviously not liking it but keeping her calm at least on the outside. He was rather impressed she was keeping it together so well. The captain had done well with picking a second. Daphne on the other hand, he had to wonder. Was she in denial? Had she been shot at a lot? From the files Anisa had provided him of her crew to look over the girl had nothing about her past to say she should be used to such a moment, unless Anisa made it a habit of shooting at the girl. (Which she didn't. This was a first.) It was either one of those two or the woman was as dead emotionally as a trout that had been gutted.

Then there was the boy at the table that seemed to have a massive stuttering problem. Jahosafat guffawed towards him. "Oh one has not been considered a man until he has had a woman sharply dressed with a tongue to match put him in his place at least once in his life. And I must concur with the blonde beauty, those heels are fabulous!"

Anisa was glad the liquor was making it easier to drown out the sound of Jahosafats voice as her attention was back on Mei currently. "That is the most reasons request I have had all day," Anisa said as she leaned forward in her chair and fiddled with the chopsticks in her hands. "Not tonight though. Tomorrow when heads are clear." She huffed slightly, blowing her hair out of her face as a few shorter strands fell forward. "Question remains, do you need a bunk tonight?"
@stark A simple word from Mahz himself would be a well needed boost in the forums morale. Several members of the staff have stated just what you have, yet many members here are obviously needing just a bit more. Five second to say, "I am here and working on it" would do more for the morale of the site than multiple repeats from the rest of the forum staff. Not because we don't love the staff, we just love Mahz more.

October 4th, 1924 - 5:30 P.M. Local Time

Streets Of Cairo: Rosheen laughed. "You never know darlin'" she said in a bright voice before kicking back the kick stand on the bike and letting Mosi get situated. Once she had, they were off. Rosheen only started off slow to get them out of the alleyway but once they were on the streets the red head didn't hold back. Her green eyes shinning as the folds of her skirt turned pants rippled in the wind. She was cutting through traffic and weaving through it as if she had been doing it for years. She had.

That was probably what saved them as suddenly from behind a parked truck a person hit the ground face first and a Rosheen swerved to avoid running over the man. Turning her head she spotted a goat standing on top of him , butting the back of his skull. Quirking a brow she whipped her head back around. "Fucking Mr. Clops got out again." It was a passing comment as she kept on her way. "Why I said hold on," she laughed as they pulled up to the Shepheards Hotel and Rosheen parked the bike near the front of the hotel. "Well, got you here. Lets get you checked in."

Museum: "Yes, walk and talk," Neema said in agreement as she continued on. It was a good idea. They had work to do anyways. As Reginald confirmed that Peter was his nephew she could resist asking anymore. "I have to ask. You say he is your nephew and that Vera is your niece. Forgive me if I am out of line but are they brother and sister? And if so... are their parents okay with Peter courting Vera?" Neema asked bluntly as they headed downstairs and reached the doors to the archives. She stepped back so that Mahendra could unlock the door since Akhmed had refused to hand the key over to her. Not that she cared, if she wanted a key bad enough she would just go and speak to the curator directly. She was sure she could persuade him to give her one even after all this time.

Vera

Location: Governorate (E/F 10)
Skills: Focus, Mental Stamina

Vera gave a slight smile as she smoothed down the front of her skirt and pushed her curls out of her face. "He is a wonderful conversationalist. I am sure he found it refreshing to have someone on his own mental level with a love of mathematics to speak with. There are so few he considers true mathematicians around," Vera said as she stepped over to Nora and laced her arm through Noras. It wasn't uncommon for Ladys in Britain to walk arm in arm if they were without a male escort. This tended to give the impression that they were escorting themselves and while not the best way to go about things it was better than to be a woman alone on the streets in a strange city. Especially in Cairo, which had such a heavy population of Brits roaming about and doing business. The last thing Vera needed was someone in the ton to see her out alone. She had no idea how things were Nora but she could only imagine with her being a Lady, it couldn't have been much different.

Making her way down the halls she mumbled to herself as she walked. Mostly reading the numbers and names on the doors as they passed them. It was a habit that got Vera ridiculed on more than one occasion, her tendency to mumble as she walked. What so few had taken into account was what she was mumbling. It was her way of making notes about her surroundings, it was part of her researching things. If she said it to herself she was more likely to remember it. She didn't have a photographic memory, she wished she did, but these little boughts of mumbling helped her recall things much easier than if she didn't.

After rounding several different corners and making their way up a set of stairs the hallway finally opened up to a larger area. It was set up like a bank with several stalls, a person behind each counter with a line in front of them. The only one that was empty was at the far left. No one was sitting there currently but the sign above it Vera read to herself, mumbling as she read the line of English below the Egyptian Arabic. "Archaeological" Looking over towards Nora she bit her bottom lip and gave a nervous smile before letting out a deep breath and heading towards the counter. She nearly tripped, yet again, as they reached the counter but she caught herself and managed to straighten herself up before ringing the bell that sat on the counter.

Evelina Lucas

Location:Ville au Camp: Main House (Downstairs front porch outside Room 100 -> Inside 101)
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training

Gripping the pipe between her teeth, Evelina slipped her four fingers into each of her front pockets, letting her thumbs rest along the seams as she gave a curt nod. "Precisely my dear. Nothing is as it once was but normal is in the eye of the beholder. As one of my dearest as been noted as stating in the past...'What is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly'. You are just no longer a fly," The Dice said, quoting one of her first creations in this world. A woman after her own heart in many ways, especially demeanor. Though Evelina would be looked at as the wild one between the two of them.

Her brow quirked in the slightest as she heard a voice call out from just to her right and behind her slightly. Turning on her heels she strode over to the edge of the front porch and peered down the receiving passageway. Spotting the pale skinned woman whom was looking around she gave a smile. "Well I dare say, you could have been a Crypt in your previous life," she said as she stepped down the receiving tunnel and held out her hand. Taking Andromedas in her own she shook it firmly. "Evelina Lucas, delighted to meet you Andromeda. Please, come with me. We are about to start the groups orientation," she said in a bright voice as she let go of Andromedas hand.

Pulling for her pocket she took a look down at her watch, time was of the essence to her. Not that they had to meet at a particular time but she had wanted to begin by a certain time and once that time was in her mind it was set. If she showed up a second after that she would have considered herself late and she just couldn't have that. Her heels clipped on the front porch as she stepped back onto it and made the short walk across the porch. Taking ahold of the knob, she turned it and pulled the door open sharply as she stepped in without a hint of glancing around, her eyes fixed on the largest man in the room. "1Βλέπω ότι έχετε στρογγυλοποιήσει ένα μεγάλο μέρος των νεοφερμένων μας. Χαίρομαι που βλέπετε ότι είστε ακριβείς σήμερα και ότι έχετε βάλει στην ουσία ένα πουκάμισο," Evelina quipped as she pulled her pipe from her lips. There was the slightest tug of a smile at the corner of her mouth as she waltz over to the man and looked him over.

"Oh and Queens Pawn to Queen Three," she added before turning around and giving her attention to those that had already made their way into the room. "Please, have a seat, it is a sitting room is it not? Sophia has the right idea. Bartholomew, it would be good of you dear to come in. You are lagging behind the others," she added as she turned and placed her pipe down on a resting stand on the table next to her. "I see that you all have arrived. I do hope that Alicia did well enough in her job to welcome you and get you situated. It was a bit of a rush this morning and I apologize for that. it has been sometime since we welcomed so many Paradoxes in a single day. We normally prefer to stagger out the arrivals but things being as they are, we were not left with much of an option."

Tugging at the bottom of her jacket she smoothed it out and laced her fingers in front of her as she faced them, standing there as prim as proper as ever as she spoke in her adopted Yorkshire accent. She found it fitting as she hadn't exactly lived in the United States long enough to reasonably acquire a new sound to her voice. "I see some of you have met The Hat. Those of you that haven't please let me introduce you. This is Gilbert Summers, our resident weapons and fighting master. He is one of our fi...," Evelina began and then caught herself. There was a quick glance towards Gilbert as she did. It was the first time they had welcomed a group since Drem had been killed. Clearing her throat she continued. "Four Emendators. You will meet The Cards and the Watch later on as they are currently preoccupied with planning this evenings events." She was not sure what Nancy and Gio were up to but she hadn't expected them to be at the little questions and answer meeting.

"I am The Dice, your resident host. My former title is Lady Evelina Lucas currently but you may call me Eve if you prefer. I wish to welcome you to your new home. I am sure you have many questions but if you would give me a few moments to run down a few things with you, it could possibly answer a great many of those." Glancing over their new arrivals, Evelina smiled towards them as she waited for everyone to get situated and comfortable. And for Gilbert to exit the room if he so chose to, he knew the welcome message as well as anyone did so she did not hold him to sticking around. She would spend the next hour speaking to them before moving conversation over to the kitchen house so they could eat while she continued. After lunch they would adjourn for them to meet with him to give them a tour of the grounds. At least that was if he wished to go. If not the schedule could be changed. She was prepared for it.

There was a tingle in the back of her mind and Evelinas lips thinned. It was not something that could be put off. "We will begin in just a moment," she said as she gave Gilbert a knowing look. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a single dice and rolled it around in her fingers. It hit the desk and clicked as it went from side to side, flipping and turning over. Then it stopped and Evelina looked at the results, she swallowed hard as her eyes went back to Gilbert. He would know what the rune on the top of the dice meant. All the Emendators did. Each of them had seen Evelina roll that dice enough to know what it meant when that one popped up. "I had high hopes for that one, such a shame..." Evelina said as she picked up the dice from the table and slipped it back into her pocket. Taking a breath she looked back over to their new arrivals. "Now, are you ready for me to begin? Remember, please hold all your questions until the end of the orientation."

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Back of House headed towards Oak Tree) -> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alicia stopped in her tracks as she heard a voice call out. Glancing over towards the house she waved a bit. "1¿Por qué diablos llegaría a eso? Ya he estado allí y he hecho eso. No necesito un puto curso de actualización. A menos que estés repartiendo tamales y salsa picante, ¡estaré en la cocina!" she called out before starting her run up again and bee lining it for the kitchen house. Alicia had no intention of going and sitting through one of Eves introduction meetings. She had been through that already, and in fact had spent more time than most new Paradoxes going over things because she was the welcoming committee now. Granted after the way things went she could probably do to sit through another and get a few pointers from Eve. Yet she was done with that for now. She was feeling a bit overwhelmed from having to welcome so many so quickly and back to back like she had. She had manged to get through it, no one broke down in front of her, they all had their room keys, and no one had spontaneously combusted so it was a win win in her mind.

Jumping up the steps of the Kitchen house she made her way inside and glanced around. Just as she figured, Gilbert hadn't done the dishes, he had left them in the sink soaking. Yeah, they could stay there and come reset time they would poof and be right back where they had been the night before. Yet, she knew what Evelinas plan was and if she walked into the Kitchen House with a sink full of dishes from breakfast with new Paradoxes on the premises... She had never seen the Dice loose her temper but out of all of the Emendators Eve was the one she never wanted see finally lose her shit. That woman was so tightly wound she was half sure that if she ever did finally snap it would be something that would have made even her father, the former Federale, Caesar take a step back from. So, Alicia swallowed her pride and put on the house wife apron that hung on a hook and got to work on doing the dishes. Better dish pan hands than pissing off someone that had control over death.

Thana Martin

Location: The Truck
Skills: N/A

Thana threw the truck into park and glanced around. It seemed that they weren't drawing any attention as far as Walkers in the area were concerned, so that was good. They had a minute or two. Looking down the roads and up the on ramp she sat there for a moment in silence. Thana wasn't a navigator by any stretch of the imagination nor did she had a vast skill set when it came to roads and routes of Georgia. Yet she had been born in the state. Being born and raised in Ga, you knew of 4 main highways. The loop: 285 around Atlanta. 75: which ran from Florida into Tennessee - everyone eventually got on it to either go to the mountains or to the peach on vacation. I20: which took all the fans out to Athens to see the bulldogs. Last but not least was 85: Which ran from Bama to Atlanta and then some. People took it when they were leaving a Bama game to go back home or from Atlanta to Columbus to hit back roads back down to Albany.

"Check the map. Find Newnan, this has got to be 85," Thana finally said after a bit of common sense reasoning. "Because if that is 75 or 20, we found some wormhole..." she followed up as she pulled her cap off and ran her fingers through her hair. Slipping it back into place she glanced over towards Thalia.

"Those Bama folks are nuts when it comes to football... I will never understand how they could be so behind a place where they are known as the Crimson Tide... I mean... Brapalorch... Yuck..." Thana said in passing before looking back around to make sure no walkers were getting close to the truck. They were still okay for now. She hoped Ash was doing okay, she was even a little worried about Gavin. Yet she didn't let herself think on it long. She was setting in her mind that when push came to shove and this day was done, she probably wouldn't see either of them ever again.

Gavin & Lola

Location: The Tank
Skills: Tank Operations (Lola)

Gavin sat there and pulled his hands from his face. "Yes Ma'am Auntie," he said as he let his hands drop back over his knees. He found himself staring off and centering in on a single rivet across from him on the wall of the tank. This was how he always got before he knew someone was going down. Being a Ranger there were plenty of times when he had to be on a stake out, or in a shootout, or have been on a stake out and ended up in a shootout. Sometimes you just knew shit was going down. This time Gavin was the one starting shit. No, he was finishing it.

"Yeah, Is believe in God. Just don't claim to be understandin' him. There be a heaven and a hell. Hell to punish the fuckers who hads it good on earth that shouldn't have. Heaven to reward the ones that had a shit show down here and still stayed good." Gavin had been raised in the south. He was a good ol' southern boy, with good ol southern values. You either shot it, stuffed it, or married it. Needless to say he did a lot of shooting and stuffing. Gun toting Jesus loving Country Boy. He might not have carried a bible on him but it was easy enough to see the gold cross that hung from a chain on his chest. "Like I be sayin' I ain't aiming for either, just wantin' to give God a few folks to sort out."

Now during all this Lola wasn't paying a bit of attention. Well she was, she heard what they were saying but she wasn't interested. All she did manage to acknowledge between the other two talking in her tank was the Mad Max references. "Break a deal, face the wheel!" she chirped as she bounced in her seat and turned down another road. She would bounce in her chair, humming to herself. At least she wasn't singing currently, the humming was far less annoying. How in the hell Thalia put up with her was beyond anyones guess. Lola had to be the type that was placed on Ritalin back in the day. She wasn't, her parents didn't believe in meds. She probably could have used it though. Several had joked in the past she must have had a personal straitjacket with her name bejeweled on it.

Laughing, she kept driving, heading towards Peachtree city. She didn't seem to care that she was running over numerous deadies as she went. Hell she seemed to be making a game out of it to pass the time. Every so often she would call out. "Oh ball cap stayed on, that's two-hundred points," or "Wack a Dead!" as she turned the cannon of her tank to catch one and knock its head off. At least things were never boring with Lola around. She turned everything into a game. "Anyone got a bat and want to go play Mailbox baseball with those Face eaters from my recliner uptop?" she asked with a giggle as she lit up a cigarette and took a long pull from it.
@Mara I wish that were the case with me. Patience is something I have in spades when it comes to pages loading. (I grew up on 14.4 dial-up in the early 90's LOL) I can click on my profile, or anyone elses, sit, wait - it ALWAYS times out. I either one of the two lovely 500 messages. I can sit for an hour refreshing each time it times out, try different times of the day, try just after I see someone update their status, etc. Still... Nothing.
I can access every part of the forum save one area - Profiles... Haven't been able to for 3/4 days... (Tried on different browsers, at different times, etc.)

Date: Monday May 22nd, 2017

Okay, we have reached a part in the Rp where things are slowing down and we just need to cover some ground in a few areas. Time to pull out the cases and get this done. Remember - person with the highest counter begins the case. PM each member of the case and me so rolls can be done if needed. Go back and forth as you can to cover the time/goal. Get them posted before your counter runs out. Questions, hit me up.

La Hacienda: Natasha stood out front near the gate. She wasn't about to stay right by the front door. Pulling out her phone she looked down at it and hit a few keys. Grumbling to herself a bit before looking up at the sky in near defeat. "Shit," she muttered before looking back down at her phone. Hitting a contact in her phone she made a call and placed the phone to her ear. "Hey hun.... No, not exactly.... Yeah... Soon, probably be 24 to 48 hours.... Complications.... I'll explain when it's safe... It's not that.... Yeah.... I will, I promise.... You too... Bye." she said, having her side of the conversation before hanging up the phone and glancing over towards Cecily. "Gonna have to take a road trip."

In the house, little Liam felt a lot better after his butt evacuation. He was giggling and clapping as if this was the best day ever! After getting that much out of him, of course it was. Granted now that he was put down, mess everywhere, and Thalia was too scared to move, he was painting the prettiest of pictures - apparently this was his brown period....

A Buttload of Shitstorm
Location: The Tower
Interacting With: Unluckily - you
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

  • Centipede
    • Okay, that Centipede is not happy. I mean it was sleeping and snoozing away and suddenly it is awake in the middle of a strange place with two people and a dog crashing down near him. He's angry, and he woke up with an empty stomach. He intends to fill it with you. Thankfully even with his quick reach he can't get to you full this round - round spent moving towards you.
  • Hooded Figure
    • Unfortunately for everyone - you have no idea where this fucker is or what he is doing and it seems he isn't even trying to alter you of his presence if he is still around. Things are quiet for now - maybe a bit too quiet.
  • Ash
    • Ash apparently has had enough of this shit. First he was growling at a man, then he was growling and trying to kill Kyra, then he was crashing through the floor. Now he is staring down a Centipede coming right at him, his Alpha, and her buddy. Ash finishes closing the distance between the Centipede and himself, it isn't but half a dozen feet and take a bite at the Centipede. He manages to get a hold of one of the man legs and snap it off. It's a start but there is a long way to go.
  • Boar A
    • That boar is none to happy that suddenly he felt like he weighed a lot more than he actually did. Who knew boars had image issues. If he survives this he is most definitely going on a diet. If not, then he won't have to worry anymore and will be served up as bacon the following morning. Either way right now he has closed the small amount of distance between himself and Sana and is attempting to gore her. Sana is able to barely move back. The tusk still gets her across the mid section though - thankfully her bodice keeps it from breaking the skin but it is still a hell of a blow.

Kyra
Location: The Tower - First Floor
Interacting With: Centipede
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kyra grunted as she hit the ground. It was bad enough that her own wolf had sent her crashing through a bookcase just a short while ago, now the floor had swallowed her. Coughing at the dust from the bench she hit on the way down she steadied herself. At least she had landed better this time than she had earlier. She doubted her ribs could have taken another hit. She wasn't exactly geared up to the nines for close battering and bruising. She would have given anything for her bow or sword right then but both of those were a floor above. The bow near where the bookcase remains were. Her sword on the floor near the foot of Bobs bed where she had set it down before she had tackled Ash.

Seemed she wasn't the only one that had gotten sucked through the floor. Satilla was coming up quickly beside her and before Kyra could say anything she was being healed. She wasn't sure what Satilla had yelled about. That was until she heard a clattering across the ground and the snap of Ashes jaws. Her head snapped around to see just what the hell was going on. "At least it isn't a fucking spider..." was all Kyra could manage to say. She wasn't a big fan of bugs but Centipedes she could handle. Spider... She would end up screaming like a little boy.

"Stay back, if you have to, run," Kyra said as she darted forward and cut the distance between herself and the centipede in half. She didn't have a lot of option right then. She had two dagger drawn and in her hands. She would have killed for her sword or her bow. She still had the arrows but without her bow they would have to be a last resort thing. She stopped and waited tightened her grip on her daggers. Ash was between her and the Centipede so she wasn't going to risk throwing a dagger or jumping at the Centipede - just yet. She had to wait for the right moment.
