The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.
Sophia looked down at the oddly-dressed boy. "Fair warning, it's not gonna be easy," she said. "I-I mean, not that the gym's going to be any problem for me!" There was no way she'd let on what had happened last time round, and she hoped Lan wouldn't say anything about it during their rematch.
The rematch. She had to be able to do this. She had to. She'd get some training in first, and then she'd show that old bald know-it-all.
Putting on her confident act, she strode, her head high - only to jump as she sensed some people behind her. She whirled round. Just some passers-by, minding their own business. She really had to pull herself together - she'd embarrassed herself enough.
"Exactly. There's still a lot about fossil Pokemon that we don't know, most likely including other species. I mean, Anorith was only fairly recently discovered," Amber replied, leaning down and gently petting Larimar's rocky shell.
"A sea-coloured gemstone... I thought the name fit a Pokemon who once lived in ancient oceans."
Kyra started whimpering, her wide, sad eyes on her trainer. "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you," Amber said, scratching the puppy behind her ears. Perking up, Kyra gave a happy yip.
Amber looked up from the little dog. "And I definitely agree about field work."
Without warning, the ground shook violently. Cici stumbled back, nearly losing her balance. Tactus gave a startled hoot and took to the air, Breig jumped with a mewling noise, and Kymbalon growled, staring around for any threats.
"Earthquakes now? Well this is a new one..." the musician commented, steadying herself. "You ok, Luna?" She was, but Cici's face remained unusually solemn. "Oh geez, Tommy... I hope he's alright..." Whipping out her Pokedex and sending him a message, she started hurrying towards the Pokecentre. When she saw the building was undamaged, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"We'd better head inside," she suggested. If a Pokemon - possibly a legendary - had caused the earthquake, she didn't want to meet them face to face. "My friend and I have been looking into unusual happenings around here, I'm going to have to talk with him about this. It could have something to do with..." She paused, unsure how to continue.
"Ok. You've heard the story of Entei, right? Have you heard the rumours about the one around here? Well, as I found out firsthand a few days ago, they're true. And I'd better warn you, he's not exactly happy. Something's really rubbing him the wrong way, and I'm working with someone to find out what it is."
With a cautious look around her, she made her way back to the building.
In the lobby of the Pokemon centre, Cici stared at the news report on TV with bleary eyes. She hadn't been able to bring herself to get any sleep. "So it was another legendary Pokemon..." she muttered under her breath. Entei and Groudon, clashing for some reason? A conflict between two incredibly powerful Pokemon... Cici hoped her suspicion wasn't correct.
A sudden rumbling of the ground sent Florence staggering back several paces. She steadied herself against a tree, staring through the sand. This had to be one tough Onix... Where was it, anyway? Where were Ella and Leisy?
Picking up Vernie, she called for the other two trainers, the roaring sandstorm drowning out her cries. As she stumbled, the dirt cloud thinned, revealing trees cast in shadow as far as she could see. Her stomach lurched with panic. She'd gone and gotten herself separated from the others, right when they needed to work together.
"Ella! Leisy!" she repeated, turning to head back into the sandstorm. Her foot met thin air. As she plummetted, she let out a scream that became a yelp of pain when she connected with hard ground. Beside her, she heard Vernie cry out.
Hisses rose up all around her. Raising her head with a groan, she found herself looking into a pair of slitted yellow eyes. Then another. Then several. A purple blur shot at her. She gave another shriek as pain seared through her shoulder.
Through her blurring vision, she saw two figures move towards the edge of the pit. Hope welled through her, which soured to fear as it turned out the shapes weren't Ella and Leisy, but two men in dark clothing.
"Well, I guess this Pokemon here's better than nothing," one of them said. "Kadabra! Get the Chikorita!" In a burst of light, the fox-like Pokemon appeared by the man's side, using its telekinesis to lift the struggling, poisoned Chikorita out of the pit.
"Vernie!" Florence tried to force herself upright, falling back down as the Ekans bite flared with agony. It felt as if her blood had turned corrosive, burning her entire body.
"We can't have a witness! Finish her, and let's see what else she has!" the man commanded, the barely-moving Grass type under his arm. "Psybeam!"
As the Kadabra's eyes glowed red, all Florence could do was brace herself.
"Jumbles! Use Reflect to defend the Cutiefly!" Ella commanded, spluttering from the sand. "Now, Lucy, hit with another Razor Leaf!"
Devinco's Mean Look allowed Lucy's attack to hit before the Onix could retaliate. With a groan, it collapsed, sending a tremor through the ground. The sandstorm died down, dirt scattering all over the forest floor.
"Cutiefly! Are you alright now?" Ella panted, leaning down to the bug. The Audino's Heal Pulse seemed to have perked it up, but it still squeaked and stared as if in horror. Jumbles bore the same look, pointing into the distance.
The pink-haired girl jumped up at the sound of a scream. "Florence!" She whirled round. "Leisy, make sure the Cutiefly's safe!" she yelled, running in the direction of the cry. Exhaustion weighed her limbs down, but she pushed on until the sight before her made her gasp.
Another Ekans pit, with Florence writhing at the bottom, and two shady-looking men standing nearby, one holding a near-unconscious Vernie. The Kadabra by their side stared down with glowing eyes, readying an attack.
"Jumbles! Night Slash!" Ella called. The red glow faded as a purple energy blade lashed at the Kadabra's frail body. "Lucy, use Astonish!" The Pumpkaboo's eerie wail sent the Psychic type stumbling further back.
"Take the Chikorita!" one of the men shouted. "I'll deal with this little punk here!" The weakened Kadabra teleported, taking the other man - and Vernie - with it.
"Vernie... No! Vernie!" Florence's scream was like that of a mother with a child in danger.
The lone thief reached for a Pokeball, sending out a Sneasel. "Ice Shard at the Pumpkaboo!" The sharp-clawed weasel flung chunks of ice, which earned a yelp from Lucette as they slammed into her.
"Lucette!" Ella's breath caught as she watched the pumpkin Pokemon fall to the ground. "Leisy, please help!"
As he glimpsed the Fletchinder, Prinplup, Pupitar and Audino in the distance, the poacher seemed to realise he was outmatched. Before Ella or Leisy could do anything, he recalled his Sneasel and turned, fleeing from sight.
@Heckno12 Yep. Gemstone enthusiast here from jewellery making, it's going to show with a few of Amber's name choices. (Well, it shows with Amber and Coral themselves - I like theme naming.)
@Heckno12 It's alright. Yeah, Larimar sounds like it fits a Water Pokemon best, but Anorith and Armaldo have things in common with the Water type (also larimar is a green/blue gemstone, fitting Anorith and Armaldo's colouring).
@Heckno12 Yay! Just going to point out, though, you wrote Chalcedony instead of Larimar - Chalcedony is Amber's Kabuto. I guess it's easy to get gemstone names mixed up.
