"Dragon slayer magic huh?...Lost magic." Cody thought aloud as he stroked his chin in thought while listening to Amaya's story. Maybe that was the connection he felt? Fellow lost magic user?
"I wish I could've met this old man, sounds like an amusing fellow." Cody replied with the slightest beginnings of a grin forming. He sincerely wished he could've met the merchant. He sounded knowledgeable, he might've had some information regarding his own magic.
Although Cody didn't understand everything she said, like her mother being recorded in the book. Why would that be? He had a feeling he shouldn't ask through. It was rude to pry into peoples past without permission. And Cody was sure if he talked long enough with the girl he would probably learn who Hunter was.
"Lost magic gained through lacrimas? I wasn't aware that was possible." Cody blinked in surprise. He had never heard of such a thing happening before, nor read it in any documents he had read. Then again, there were a lot of things he didn't know.
Her distrust of humans wasn't misplaced through, there was a reason why Cody separated himself from people for so long. He didn't particularly trust most people either, James and Jamie were exceptions. He felt he could also trust Jayce just by the way he fought. He was unsure what to think about the rest of the guild, like that Nolan boy, Marlene or Mayt.
"I use lost magic myself. Not as grand as slayer magic though." Cody added absentmindedly. He decided it was silly to keep wearing his hood now and removed it before running his hands through his crimson red hair.
"Nor do I have the privilege of having a book on it's history. Only on how it is cast." Cody put his hand inside his coat and pulled out a small tome in immaculate condition. In big, bold writing the title read: Absolute Defensio.
Cody blew off a little bit of dust from the tome before smiling slightly. It had been awhile since he had actually last held it...upon reflection maybe he should've shown Jamie this?

Jasmine nodded as she silently followed behind Peggy. She was beginning to see that Peggy wasn't only just stubborn, but also kind. When they got to the dining area she smiled gratefully before ordering a bowl of (assuming this is here XD) green chicken curry with rice.

"Anything which needs to be changed? A wish granter?" Jessica mused to herself. She honestly found this situation most exhilarating. Anything she desired? A evil smirk could be seen on her face as she gazed at Arthur briefly before turning back to Nero.
Arthur had a bad feeling about this.
"Look now Jessica before you-"
"I wish for you to turn Arthur into a puppy." She said with a slight smile to the man. The look of horror on Arthur's face was priceless.

So this thing has been bugging me since last night. I decided to wait until everybody was done partying before bringing it up.

Why is the city not under martial law?

Just in the time I have been watching there have been four separate instances of S class releases of magic power. The only time you should be getting that much magic flying around is in a warzone. Supposedly people are still wary of magic but I've barely even seen other player characters noticing, much less the actual authorities.

"Relax there is no need to be nervous around me, I don't bite." Cody heard Amaya say. He wasn't sure if she was joking or not, because much like Amaya he wasn't used to being around people. Although he didn't hang around people by choice.
In fact he wasn't quite sure why he was so nervous but he was sure this feeling would go away eventually....maybe.....hopefully.
"Of course...." Cody replied finally. He was still nervous but felt slightly better as he sat down on the bench next to her "interesting book?" Cody indicated to the book in her hands in an attempt to strike up a proper conversation.

Jasmine seriously had to think about that for a moment. Could one torture another with food? It surely was feasible....
"I don't want to be a burden..." Jasmine replied before chuckling slightly. Suppose torturing someone with food was a little far-fetched...
Jasmine seemed to ease up a little as she was now becoming comfortable around Peggy. Jasmine also had a feeling that Peggy wasn't giving her much choice in the matter....So Jasmine did the one thing she could, nervously smile at Peggy as she waited to be dragged off to where-ever they were getting food.
