Manami threw up a dome (cause Nidhogg ain't the only one who makes them) of water around of herself to protect herself from the attacks sent out by James'. Her water absorbed the attacks with ease as she stared him down with a look that could kill.
"I never asked for your opinion Paladin. You think I asked for the bloodshed?! Once the slayers have been judged, then I too will take my own. That is the path which I walk." Manami brought her arms up as two arms of water now erupted from her sphere and were racing towards James in an attempt to pound him into the ground with enough force to create a crater when they hit the ground.
However she seemed to give away some crucial information about herself now by mistake but she didn't care. They already saw her as evil, so she might as well act it then and showed them her power. She was here to judge, not be judged.

Oh yeah they did, she doesn't take too kindly to when people dig that up. She ain't proud of how she gained her magic, detests it even. However that is also what drives her, because she didn't want the sacrifices to have been made in vain.
And on the topic of the people running the church, she just gave them what they deserved XD

"Don't worry kid as long as I'm here there's nothing to fear." Sora gave Verrick a smirk as he threw him a small bag of jewels "As much as I loathe having that creature around, as long as Ethel keeps it away from me I won't kill it." With that said Sora now turned on his heels and suddenly launched himself up into the air before gracefully landing on top of a nearby building.
"Well hurry up slowpokes. I ain't got all day!" Sora called out mockingly as he awaited for the group atop the building. Mai was now obviously a little annoyed with Sora's behavior, seeing as he was the only one of them who could fly.
"Oh for crying out loud you stupid....I'm going to kill him one of these days." Mai grinded her teeth together before a grappling gun now appeared in her hand in a flash of light.
Quickly mumbling about making them waste magic she quickly aimed upwards and fired the gun. Once it connected she pressed the trigger again and shot upwards. Jess took a different approach however as she jumped up and landed on platforms made from ice, and using each platform to launch herself towards another platform.
Where had these platforms come from you ask? Well she simply formed them as she jumped using her magic.
This left Verrick and Ethel once again by themselves at the bottom of the building. Ethel now turned to Verrick with her blood red eyes dancing with excitement.
"Does Verrick need help getting up? Ethel can get up and take Verrick with Ethel if he wants." Ethel suggested.

As the shield flew her way Manami went to put up a sphere of water which completely surrounded her, however she was distracted by Jacey's sudden attack on her butocks. Yelping loudly, her hands flew straight to them before the shield smacked her right in the face with a magnificent *ding. Cracks appeared alongside her face as she twitched in annoyance.
"We'll see then won't we?" Manami spat out in reply as she managed to shield herself from any of the ricochets before watching as Nidhogg managed to halt the advancing Paladin. But she still heard his rather hurtful comments.
"You know nothing Paladin. So shut it." Steam was begining to fill the air now as she looked towards Plegetheon with a look which was a mixture of hurt, surprise and...was that guilt?
"You shut it as well you walking scrap of metal. I don't know how you know that but it doesn't concern you, so keep your nose out of it." Manami's body language had changed rather drastically now as she took an aggressive tone. Her body was leaking steam as it glowed softly.
Just who the hell did they think they were?! She was the judge, not them! Hypocrites, the lot of them. Just like her father. Just like the church. They claim to fight for peace, for the sake of the world. But it was really their own view of the world they wanted to protect.

Cody was still kneeling on the ground when the skeletal hands had erupted from the earth and grabbed onto him. Panicking at the sight of the sudden, quite frightening attack Cody gestured for his sword as it flew back into his hands. As he slashed and hacked at the hands, he couldn't quite cut them all down nor notice the spear which Nidhogg had aimed at him however. If it wasn't for Ferrin Cody would've been a sitting duck. And if it wasn't for James' barrier than the hands might've overwhelmed him.
Gritting his teeth in frustration he instead focused on getting as far back from Nidhogg as he could, all the while cutting down any hands which pursed him.
Here he was trying to prove he wasn't useless...by being totally useless. Great work. Despite being demoralised by this thought, Cody quickly decided to try and back Ferrin the only way he knew how.
He would disperse attacks made by Nidhogg directed towards himself or Ferrin, while also quickly wrapping his Absolute Shield back around of his chest under his cloak.
That way if any attacks aimed towards the torso got through....then between his armor and shield, he was certain he wouldn't die at least.

"You know nothing about me. So don't act like you do." She hissed towards Plegetheon as she began to radiate a killing intent which rivaled that of even Nidhogg. Manami was normally polite and kind to a point, however these people had made her patience run out quite quickly by bringing up her shameful past.
Water swirled around of Plegetheon's feet now before forming spears which now aimed to run straight through the armored spirit. Manami also made a wall of water erupt from the ground to intercept James' attack on Nidhogg as she growled towards the Paladin.
"And I'm not done with you just yet...I'll purge you all."

"...Oh god no." Mai groaned into her hand as Verrick introduced himself. This was very similar as to how she and Jess had met Sora, except a lot less painful. And involved a lot less fighting.
But Sora had introduced himself similarly so she had a bad feeling about this guy now.
"What's a 'Chu'?" Jess asked with her head cock slightly to the side as she looked at Verrick now. Although she looked at the strange creature she had found earlier and seemed to understand what he meant now. Now that she thought about it, it had said nothing but 'Chu' and he seemed to have indicated towards this adorable thing.
So this was it's owner?
"*Ahem* as I was saying." Sora cleared his throat loudly now to get everyone's attention. His left eyebrow was twitching slightly in annoyance at the interruption. He also was still pretty annoyed with the other two but decided to leave that matter for another time, time was stacked against them here. Upon noticing the Chu however he went pale, but he had a plan this time! He would ignore it!
"While I was up there I saw a disturbance to the west of us. Big hand of golden water and all. You guys know what that mean right?" Sora looked towards Jess, Mai and Ethel now as the former two nodded. Ethel however seemed excited, but Verrick might be confused.
"Golden water? Scary water lady. That means nee-san is probably there too."

Ethel silently nodded as she listened to Verrick responses. So he was like Sora and the others? A free lance mage? Ethel was sure that that wasn't illegal in any sense, as she was also probably considered one. However she too like Verrick had yet to check how illegal that was or not. However...Ethel was confused. She was a good person?
And Verrick didn't seem too bothered by the fact her sister was a dark mage yet she still wanted her family back together. She was however more confused what what he meant by 'hurt'. Of course it would hurt if you were attacked by anyone, but she did linger on the memory the first time she had found her sister. She had felt a pain in her chest...it was a different pain but. Was that what he meant?
Either way she nodded silently in agreement and now went to speak, however a familiar voice cut her off.
"Strong? No Ethel's sister isn't strong persay. I can take her myself easily. The problem is her magic. Teleportation can be such a pain to track down, let alone trying to defeat." Sora touched down near the two younger mages with his hands casually in his pockets. He had been floating back down and had noticed they were still there, so now that he had calmed down he had decided to make sure that the new kid hadn't said anything bad to Ethel.

That and he felt a tad bad about leaving Ethel alone with some guy she had just met....but only slightly bad. A smidgen.
"Oh that reminds me Ethel, while I was up there-"
"Ethel! We've been looking everywhere!" A woman with long blue hair came running over now, slightly out of breath as she gave Verrick a curious glance before quickly turning her attention back to Ethel "Don't just vanish like that on us. But more to the point, who's your new friend? Oh where's my manners? I'm Mai Butcher." Mai turned her gaze back to Verrick now. He seemed slightly younger than herself, but still older than Ethel so somewhere between eighteen and twenty?
"...Maybe if we came here like I suggested half an hour ago, then we would've find her sooner." A girl who looked remarkably similar to Mai now walked over with Chu clasped tightly against her chest. Her hair was a darker shade of blue however, like a deep lapis-lazui. Upon noticing Verrick however she seemed a little annoyed.
"Oh come on Jess lighten up. Ignore my sister, she gets a little jealous sometimes." Mai remarked as she gave Jess a clap on the back.

"Flying? I've always wondered how that would feel. Sounds like fun!" Jasmine responded cheerfully. She wasn't really afraid of heights too much, but she never tended to go high up anyway so it wasn't like she could've tested it anyway. But like most people, she had dreamed of flying high up in the air...free as a bird.
She couldn't wait. However at the mention of the Moth people she frowned.
"I doubt it...last I saw them was the hotel."
