It would seem that Cody had earned the scorn of most of his fellow students in the room. The reason why Cody couldn't fathom as anything but one, natural human emotion. Jealously.
They were jealous of his selflessness and his manliness! Of course, hero's throughout the ages had to put up with similar scorn. He simply had to put up a tough front and not let this get to him.
"If fighting on the side of justice makes me 'self centered' then so be it my fellow comrade of justice, Damon. However so long as my selfishness is selfless sacrifice to the greater good then that's a good thing no? Better than to selfishly take what belongs to others, whether it be belongings or lives." Cody responded almost instantly. He hadn't even given a single thought into his response, this was just how he usually talked and acted. He knew in his heart of hearts that what he spoke was the truth which is justice. So long as he kept his path righteous then he would be able to sustain any scorn which others felt for him.
"It's entirely my pleasure Ms Cicile, Ms Starling, Mr Damon and Mr Gene. I do hope for an enjoyable year with you all and pray that darkness doesn't taint our hearts." After Cody finished speaking he struck a
pose and gave his gathered fellow first year students a wide, toothy grin.
An announcement to take their seats soon rung out and Cody would wait for the others to take a seat before taking one.
Eri was running late. Very late. By the time her panting, overly sweaty person had gotten to the main hall most of the seats were taken or having students allocated to them. So she joined the queue and now awaited her turn once she carefully placed her bags down with the others.
Ethel sat down silently in the 1st year section as far away from the front as possible. She also cast a cold, piercing dagger-like glare at anyone who dared try to sit down next to her.
Tet hummed softly to himself as he swung his feet back and forth. He was bored and just wanted this entrance ceremony to be done already so he could get to the some real fun!
Manami Fuyu and Vesta Celestia
Once all the students had settled down into their seats a tall woman with spiky, platnium coloured hair now walked up to the stand in the middle of the podium. It was the head teacher Vesta Celestia, who was also the schools self defense teacher.
"I would ask you all to stand for the vice-principal, Ms Fuyu." She stated bluntly, her tone leaving no room for argument at all. She wouldn't be afraid to point out anyone who didn't stand and give them the disciplining of their young lives.
Assuming everyone was smart and stood up she now stepped aside to allow a shorter and slightly younger woman to stand at at the microphone now.
"The Principal sends her regards everyone, however as vice principal I find myself being given the honor of welcoming all you new students to the school as well as the older students back to the school." The woman's voice was like honey to the students ears, that's just how sweet sounding it was.
"The school as a whole welcomes you all with open arms, whether you be new or returning. If you ever need help don't be afraid to seek myself for guidance as not only am I the vice principal, but also the 1st year advisor as well as a school counselor. I wish you all a healthy, eye opening year and hope you not only learn but make some new friends who you can depend on and vice versa."
