Jasmine Lockwood and Rajah

@MarshiestMallow
Penny was right in her assumption, the younger girl's screaming ending almost as quickly as it started. Once she realised she was no longer falling, nor rapidly ascending, she allowed her eyes to slowly pry open. She was immediately greeted by the sight of Rajah, arms and mouth filled with fish and dripping with water. It didn't take a genius to work out what the little exceed had done in the short time they had been here, and honestly was it even a surprise?

Rajah opened her mouth to say something when Iggy took one of her fish, but in doing so dropped one of the fish she was trying to eat. She was quick to shut it again and grab it before it fell too far, instead choosing to narrow her eyes at the older exceed. He had better not be planning to eat that later himself, she caught that fair and square! Upon Penny's words, she swallowed the fish she had been devouring and wiped her mouth. "Hmph." Letting out a discontent snort, she soon followed after the red-head. Even Rajah knew there was no point in arguing and fighting right now.

Jasmine kept quiet as they approached the Island, seeming to try and shrink back as the stench of the tainted ethernano in the air hit her nostrils. It was so thick and disgusting, surrounding them entirely almost and making the dragon slayer sick to her stomach. Just what could be causing such a vile miasma around the island? Upon touching down on the island, if it wasn't for Penny's tight grip on her Jasmine might've collapsed from the weakness she felt begin to build up.

Then came a sudden tensing up of the girl as she sniffed the air around the duo, her face slowly growing more confused. What was this scent? It was familiar, yet she couldn't think of a single time she had smelt something like this. It was so hard to describe, and at first, it was difficult to pick up amongst the sickening corrupted magic that hung in the air. But now the more she looked hard for this slight scent, the more she noticed it. And, instinctively, seemed to be dreading it.

"It seems like those little furballs were telling the truth..."] Ryujin's voice almost made Jasmine jump out of her skin, visibly jolting both herself and Penny. "I had hoped that the exceed's were mistaken, but there's no doubting it. We're dealing with-"]

"-Dragons." Jasmine finished for the ancient soul, her voice coming out in a soft mumble as the colour slowly drained further from her face. This was what she had come here to help deal with, but now the very realy real prospect of having to fight one was starting to hit home.
Scar

Well, there were a few of them weren't there? Even before their two comrades had dropped dead, the group of inmates rushed their way. With his crossbow reloaded, he calmly raised it and fired a bolt between one of their eyes. Making sure to aim towards the middle of the group, very hard to dodge being surrounded by his 'friends' after all. With that done, Scar was quick to discard the crossbow as the group approached, he wasn't going to get much of a chance to reload here, and drew his short sword and dagger. He had just recast invisibility when the smoke bombs rolled past him and went off. Macey was, of course, the thrower of said bombs, she was the only one who used them.

Now, Scar could easily bypass this group. His invisibility magic made that a piece of cake, hell with this smokescreen alone he could do it. Both of them combined, these plebs had no chance of catching him. However he was also aware that Macey was getting Kris out of harms way at this moment, so someone had to buy them some time now didn't they? Kris he couldn't give much of a damn about, but he owed Macey one for the sandwich earlier. Sure, it was a horrid sandwich. But a debt was a debt, and Scar wasn't going to let any debts drag out.

As the smoke grew thicker around the kitsune, he took a moment to crack his neck and place the dagger handle between his teeth. Well then, it was time to get to work. With the group well and truly upon him, he reached into his pocket and flung a fistful of needles towards the approaching group. Again aiming for the middle, he was bound to hit some of them that way. Then with that out of the way, he really began to kick things up a gear. Leaping up into the air, he did an over the top flip just for show before landing atop one of the prisoners as he ran where Scar was just moments ago. Very soon after Scar's dagger was impaled in the man's throat and withdrawn, lashing out with a kick towards the nearest prisoner and a slash with his short sword towards another. With a couple second's delay, along with another showboaty flip back into the smoke, he was invisible once again. Also kicking the dead prisoner back into his comrades in the process before more needles soon followed.

With them well and truly aware of his presence in the smoke, though finding his exact location would be like finding a needle in a haystack for these unfortunate saps, he began to move around and whittle down their numbers. Dashing in for a few attacks before disappearing and retreating once more. Why stop at just buying time? Unless something could stop him, he would kill every single one of them himself. Of course a few could get through to the others, he couldn't hold off all twenty by himself. But damn was he trying his best to.

The sound of a familiar voice made Adelyn narrow her eyes. Great, just who she wanted to come to talk to her. And he was using such vulgar cusses again, though it came as no surprise to the young lady. He was just a savage after all. "I'm fine thank you very much. I have this under control." Hmphing, the girl pushed herself back up to her feet only to stumble slightly. Her hands went to hold the backwards glider up, glaring daggers at the contraption.

"They make it seem so easy..." she mumbled softly under her breath, her thoughts filled with memories of her brothers using gliders. Sure, they were state of the art and hot off the press, and these ones were...what, the first prototypes? But still, they had used them so effortlessly. Yet she was struggling with just putting the thing on. It was just another source of frustration for the girl.

It was about this time that Amara went to push past them, Adelyn was too busy fiddling with the glider to try and turn it the other way, which she now noted was the way the others wore theirs much to her chagrin, to really pay the girl much attention. She just let the girl pass and grumbled some words under her breath.

"I said I have this." She snapped at Laz, pulling it up and back over her head. "So don't touch me. Don't even come within five metres of me." she managed to wriggle out of the suit, glowering at him while patting down her shirt. "I don't even want to breathe the same air as you so refrain from breathing in my vicinity. In fact please cease breathing and save us all the trouble."

It was at this moment that the magic in the room caught her interest and she cast a quick glance in Amara's direction as she finished summoning her wind elemental. Huh, so that was the short girl's magic? Adelyn hadn't really seen it in action before. She didn't even really know if she had talked to the girl yet, then again she didn't really care to talk to any of them. But at least she seemed somewhat...decent.

Holding the harness to chest, she watched somewhat intrigued as the wind elemental jetted around the room. One of the first places it stopped was right in front of her followed by a gentle breeze, her face doing it's best impersonation of a tomato briefly and a loud thud before a flash of white.

As in, a flash that enveloped the entire room and blinded anyone unfortunate to be looking at Adelyn at the time her skirt was flipped. The pure white light lasted for no longer than a couple of seconds, but it was enough for Adelyn. But poor Laz would've been right at the epicentre of the spell. When it faded, the glider was on the ground and Adelyn was holding her skirt down, her face still flushed crimson.

"....Say your prays." And at that, she shot a Divine Arrow at the wind elemental.
Elizabeth and Megu

@Ithradine
The trip to the fort was rather uneventful. Boring in fact. If the trip wasn't so short, Elizabeth might've just wandered off and let Megu investigate the place. She was far more interested in the greenery around her then some ruined fort. She hadn't been outside in so long, and there was plenty of wildlife around that she hadn't seen before. Even in Yggdrasil. But soon enough her crimson gaze fell upon it's ruined state. The fort itself was a building of rather ugly design, especially compared to the beauty and magnificence of the Cathedral.

Though it was an impressive size, being made of stone and stretching far up into the sky. It must've been five...or maybe six or so stories tall. Her gaze fell further down onto what she assumed was the battlefield for the slaughter which had happened here. Broken weapons littered the bloodstained field, but a surprising lack of bodies. Had they disposed of them already?

That question was rather swiftly answered by the next sight as she and Megu silently approached the tower. It was rather clear for Megu, but for Elizabeth, it took some strain to see. The large piles of countless limbs and body parts. It would seem they hadn't disposed of them all that well at all, instead opting to just stack the corpses atop one another and leave them to rot. The smell was nothing short of putrid and caused the girl to wrinkle her nose in disgust. Truly they were dealing with barbaric savages with no respect for their fallen foes, they could've at least used the parts if they weren't going to dispose of them properly. No matter, she was sure one of the others might be able to at least use some of it. Waste not want not after all.

"Megu, check the corpses. Maybe there's a familiar emblem, anything of note. I'll look to try and find wherever these savages keep their records." After a quick moment of thought, Elizabeth barked out some quick orders before striding towards the hole in the fort wall.

"Of course Mi'lady, I shall do so with haste." Megu was concise in her response, following after her mistress. Kneeling down besides the first pile, she began to shift through it. Making sure to carefully examine the first few corpses or limbs atop the pile. Not only looking for an emblem that might help aid in where they currently where, but also to check the bodys overall condition. If they were still in 'reasonable' condition, then maybe Tatter or someone of that ilk had use for them. If nothing else, food for their various 'pets'.

While Megu searched that, Elizabeth was quick to get away from the overwhelming stench of death and decay. Not because such things bothered her, one only looked at who her Father was to know that was untrue. But more because it reminded her too much of him, the fact he was gone still being a rather raw subject for her. Once inside the fort proper, she wandered how best to find wherever the equivalent of a records room would be. The place was rather large, so searching it room by room would take far too long. And she lacked the correct skillset, being a mage more focused on healing and combat, to search it that way. So instead she would prioritise and search any rooms that looked promising, or ones that at least looked like they contained something interesting anyway.
Scar

It would seem that they managed to dispatch the group of monsters with ease, and with little to no damage done to the party as well. Well, bar some friendly fire from that damned crazy bitch. Sometimes Scar wondered if she thought about anything before acting. With a sigh, he brought up the rear of the party, being already behind everyone else and all. While he walked past the bodies, he leaned down to remove his bolts and needles. Waste not, want not.

Once he had taken whatever was still reusable he continued, reloading the crossbow as he walked slowly behind them. He wasn't fussed if he got separated, his magic was better solo anyway. Plus, he could find them easily enough. Only so many paths they could take for a start, but he was a pretty good tracker. Exiting the stairwell, he glanced over the broken barricade and the dead guards. He didn't feel an ounce of pity for them, why would he need to? Hearing loud voices, he paused. His ears standing up and twitching, he elicited a loud groan when he heard Kris' voice. That wasn't good news.

Grumbling under his breath, if anyone was looking at him they would've just seen him vanish entirely from sight in the blink of an eye. Seemed like he was gonna have to mop up another mess their party was getting themselves into. Strolling into the room, entirely invisible to those around him, he prepped some needles in one hand and his crossbow in the other. He took a moment to assess the situation. It would seem that some prisoners had escaped, through whatever means he didn't care, and had armed themselves. There were three of them, one already had Kris' full attention. Between her and Hawke, combined with his magic, they wouldn't see this coming. Literally.

He appeared seemingly out of thin air besides Hawke and Macey, a bolt fired in that same instant. He aimed for the man at the back, and unless he reacted quick enough it would strike between his eyes. "How about this?"" Scar asked, flinging a handful of needles towards the other man currently not engaged by Chris. ""I don't have the fucking time to play with you scum, so just die like the filthy cockroaches you are." in the case that his attacks failed, he would vanish again and begin to walk behind them. Slowly reloading his crossbow. Without some sort of magical intervention, he was confident they wouldn't be able to find him. He doubted anyone in the room could.

Jasmine Lockwood and Rajah

@MarshiestMallow
Now that it was finally time to go the island, Jasmine was understabley nervous. Could she actually do anything? Or would she just get in the way? Sure she was a Dragon Slayer, but she had no idea what to expect from a real, living breathing dragon. But she also knew that everyone on the island was putting themselves at risk, willing to fight dragons even if their magic would be ineffective. So with hers actually being effective, she couldn't just run away and hide now.

Now that Penny pulled out the lacrima, it occured to Jasmine that she had been given one as well. When she had joined the guild, albiet before they learned of her magic, she was given a couple of lacrima from Jarvis. To protect her if nothing else.

Though this was her first time actually seeing one of them used. The excitement of watching it in action dulled the butterflies she felt, even if just for a brief moment or two. Even after all this, her love for magic hadn't abided and seeing it in action was one of the best things to perk the girl right up. It also made her briefly wonder what her own magic would look like in use. She couldn't really recall much, though she had a feeling that was more related to Ryujin trying to slowly reintroduce her body to magic again.

Feeling Penny's arm wrap around her shoulder, Jasmine reached up and squeezed the older girl's hand. Jasmine was a wreck internally, between the nervousness, fear, excitement and other emotions running amoke she wasn't sure which one she felt more.

She wasn't sure when the lacrima had activated. She must've blinked, for one moment they were gathered round in Magnolia and the next they were being assaulted by the strangely familiar sensation of salty sea air. Blinking a few more times as she tried to regain her bearings, it took a moment to realise they were plummeting straight towards the ocean. Something had gone horribly wrong.

Squeezing her eyes shut tightly as she waited for the inevitable contact with the water, instead she was greeting with the familiar warm of Penny's flames as they shot back up into the sky. Gripping onto red head tightly and screaming all the while of course.

Rajah on the other hand was nowhere to be seen, nor did she appear at Iggy's calling of her. Where had the little rascal gone?

Well that question was soon answered as she shot out of the water, a fish flopping around in her mouth while she held two more in each hand. She seemed to open her mouth to say something, but all that came out was muffled gibberish that no one had a hope in the world of understanding.

Ashlyn Johnson

Ash shrugged. It was she could honestly, this Sasha girl seemed to have made up her mind so that was that then. Didn't mean she would follow her orders of course. God no. But why waste time arguing over such a pointless detail that she knew she wouldn't listen to anyway? Instead her attention was drawn to Hunter as he approached her. It didn't take a genius to work out what he had in mind, between his facial language, the jade starting to form on his fist and just the way he approached. The poor little slayer was mad.

But this was fine. If he wanted to start, then Ash was more than happy to comply. And if he threw the first punch, even better! Then she could argue her case later that she was just defending herself. But like Hunter, and most people around them, her attention was again shifted to something else. In this case, Ferrin seeming to have an argument with....the air next to him.

Whelp. It was offical, there was literally no difference in sanity between light and dark guild wizards. Hell, it seemed that light guild wizards seemed to be less predictable and more insane than dark guild wizards. Well, most of them anyway.

"Well, you don't seem much better." the pyromancer scoffed, shaking her head. What had she signed up for here?

Even with Sasha's brief explanation, Ash looked on dubiously. That sounded way too convenient, and she wasn't really the type to believe people just because they say something. At least all her time with Shadow Heart taugher her something useful. "If you say so."

Cody Bloodstein

Not knowing much about the situation was indeed troublesome. But if whomever was hiding there did indeed work for the gangs, then it could be a chance to get some much needed information. Cody was glad when they threw their weapons down without much of a hassle. Good, the less fighting there was the better.

"Par...lay?" Cody blinked blankly a couple times as the duo came out of hiding, the younger one shouting out some nonsense before being quickly corrected by the older man. Upon closer inspection actually, the younger one looked to be more around Cody's age. What were these two doing here?

It wasn't till James spoke that Cody lowered his weapon. It seemed like they weren't with the gangs then, at least that's what it seemed for now. He knew he couldn't let his guard down, but he certainly relaxed it.
With James briefly explaining their purpose for being here also, Cody didn't really see any reason to add to it and instead sheathed his sword.
Umming and aahing over ideas atm lol
I mean, first things first I need to work out if I'm gonna go male or female lol Got a few ideas for both
Elizabeth and Megu

@Ithradine@Achronum
Elizabeth wasn't sure whether to feel insulted or proud at the woman's reaction. She seemed amazed, stupefied, at the mid-tier spell that the mage had cast. Like she couldn't believe what she had just seen, let alone experience. The disbelief could be viewed as an insult depending on how Elizabeth wished to view this, but instead, she took it the way she knew best.

The best way to describe it would be 'proudly'. Extreme and uncensored pride, which the girl didn't bother to hide as she basked in the woman, who she learned was called Cisna, and the praise she heaped on both her and Volaris. Though she didn't speak, it was obvious from the look that formed on her face and the way she held herself that she was enjoying it. Even if she knew most of the praise went to Volaris, as it should since he was a Supreme Being, she still took this as a confirmation that her abilities were in fact as extraordinary as she believed them to be. But of course, they were! If they were any less, she would be dragging her father's, the most Supreme of Supreme Being's, name through the mud!

"It was nothing...grandfather." At his words, a smile lit her face up despite the slow pause that preceded her calling him grandfather. It was foreign to her and felt disrespectful in many ways. Both to Volaris and her Father.

But, it was a necessary act that he himself also seems to be following. Perhaps he had been testing her to see what sort of cover story she could think up on the spot? Of course, that was it! Leave it to a Supreme Being to keep someone such as herself on her toes. She wouldn't want things any other way, the only way to get better was to be continuously tested and overcome such obstacles. Perhaps another reason he also took that form?

Regardless, at his request for her and Megu to go on ahead she gave a brief curtsy in response as she bowed her head in deep respect. "But of course grandfather. Consider the deed as good as done." A hesitation followed soon after as she gave the duo another glance. When they were in the Scrying Chamber, she had mistaken these two for humans. She was visibly disappointed they weren't, she hadn't met many another humans and she had thought this to be such a rare chance but alas it wasn't to be. They were quite human in appearance, but the horns and tails were dead giveaways that they weren't a hundred per cent, bonafide humans. A shame indeed.

The pause lasted a few moments longer, slowly turning her gaze back to Volaris. She seemed to have something to say. But was this the time and place to say it?

"Young Elizabeth wishes to request a personal audience with these unfortunate souls upon her return." Megu's voice bought some relief to Elizabeth's face. Leave it to her personal attendant to be able to read her like an open book and adjust accordingly. Though, her voice seemed a little strained. Almost as if not being able to speak using the full respectful terms she addressed them with pained her.

"It has been some time since she has spoken to one close to her age, so I can only ask that you consider the proposal. And you needn't worry about catching up with us, I am more than capable of defending Elizabeth. I have done so ever since her Father contracted me to do so after all."

Elizabeth nodded both in appreciation of Megu stepping in to air her thoughts, but also in how she had effectively explained her presence here. Sure, they could've passed her off as Megu's older sister. While Elizabeth was clearly in her mid to late teens, Megu more had the appearance of a more mature human woman. Perhaps mid-twenties. But as a mercenary guard? She seemed to have taken an interesting cover story. In a way, it was extraordinary truthful without telling the entire truth.

"It's as Megu says. I do insist you consider it." Elizabeth wasn't stupid. She knew quite well that Volaris if he found these two to be useless, could quite easily end them. Especially with his comments on adding them to the undead defences from before. So, by asking this she was effectively asking him to spare them long enough for her to fulfil her own, admittedly selfish, desire.

With nothing much more to say, Elizabeth gave another brief curtsy while Megu bowed before the duo said their farewells and went to follow Volaris' order. Go and gather more information about their surroundings, about that fort in particular. Especially from any individuals they may encounter. At least, that's how Elizabeth interpreted it. She would probably leave a lot of it to Megu, information gathering wasn't her forte.

So, unless they met or saw something that was of any real interest they proceeded to make their way out of the forest and towards the Fort. Making sure to keep a keen eye out for anything that might be important to learn about or that may be of a threat to themselves first and foremost, and then the overall safety of the Cathedral second.

Kat

@HueMan@Achronum
"Careful...careful..." Kat mumbled softly to himself. In his arms was a stack of books so tall that it beggared belief. This was beyond what Baron had asked him to read over, it must've been around thirty or so volumes of books he had stacked in his arms! Just the sight of it was preposterous, let alone the fact that the kitsune who was prone to tripping over literally nothing managed to walk, even if shakily and uncoordinated, without dropping a single one as he made his way to a nearby desk was a nothing short of a miracle granted by a Supreme One.

It wasn't until he got to the table and went to slowly place the stack on the floor that the expected disaster happened. The entire stack of books fell backwards and on top of the kitsune, but not before he let out a loud cry followed by a very loud thud. A lot of very loud thuds actually, each book was quite thick and it hurt being crushed by them all at once. But soon after, his head poked out. His ears twitching furiously as he heard the two talk about him. How rude and cruel Lady Anna was being!

It wasn't his fact that his stats were the lowest of the guardians, meaning that he was by that fact one of the slowest with low stamina to boot. That, and there were so many goddamn stairs he had to use to get there! Unlike her or Lady Elizabeth, he didn't have the luxury of teleportation magic! Nor did he have the wings and speed of Lady Morningstar!

And for another thing, he was buried up to his neck in scrolls, errands, books and other assorted tasks he did daily! He had to finish those before he could attend the summons otherwise the other Supreme Beings would have his head if they found out he shirked his duties!

"I'm no pet!" He huffed loudly, finally managing to get out of the pile of books. "I am the proud disciple of Lord Butcherman23! Do not disgrace my creator's name!" Though he used a serious, almost angry-sounding tone the overly cute pout that accompanied made him very difficult to take seriously. In fact, it was almost impossible to take the Kitsune serious.

"...But Lady Anna is correct in that we should focus on our task....even if it's almost no different to my usual job." He couldn't help but sigh as he looked at the pile of books he had gathered. Well, it was easy to guess why he had been chosen out of everyone for this job. Because not even he could fuck this up.
@Protean Pair
I’m having a tough time choosing a concept so I’ll just ask this. Is there a character limit? I assume one each but best to ask

When the other crew members had surfaced from the barracks, having come up on deck to perform whatever individual duties they had, whether that be cleaning, altering the sails, etc, etc, Adelyn was very quick to make herself scarce. For a few reasons, most importantly was that she didn't want to be seen right now. Which also was for a few different reasons. Such as not wanting to be showing a weaker side to this motley crew of rag-tag misfits, just simply being sick of all their presences and most important of all she didn't want them to see her and Laz together like this. She didn't want weird rumours spreading around, unaware that such ones already probably were making the rounds.

So instead she retreated into the medic bay, usually where one would find the resident doctor in Alex. They would probably find him there right now as well, but he was so drunk and out of it that he had been carried and passed out in a bed. At least he would be quiet for a while, which effectively gave Adelyn some quiet alone time to herself and her thoughts. She had just a little bit on her plate to consider. She wouldn't leave unless Alex came to and annoyed her too much, not even for food and even sleeping there for the night as compared to the barracks. And if he did annoy her, well she would probably smash a bottle on his head or something to take him back out of it.

The Next Day

Despite what she herself thought, she slept rather easily that night. Well compared to most that she had spent here. Suppose she had vented some of her frustrations out, but it was still a far cry of a 'good nights sleep'. Maybe it was because she wasn't lying in some uncomfortable, glorified net? Perhaps, but it wasn't like these were actually the best mattresses going around either. There was a really loose spring that dug into her back and was uncomfortable as hell. But, better than nothing. Wouldn't stop her from complaining later. Oh by Juno, no it wouldn't. That would be something to bring up at a later time.

Not that it was to say she felt rested. In fact, she was feeling more towards the exhausted end of the spectrum and just laid there for several minutes. Staring up at the wooden ceiling above her, one might've thought she was contemplating something. But the truth was far, far more boring. She was staring up there because she had nothing better to do, and would rather think about how old, tattered and worn away the timber was then thinking about literally anything else right now. They had some big, important mission today. Honestly to her, it was literally just a train robbery. Theft.

Honestly, they were no better than a group of lowlife bandits at this point.

After what felt like an eternity the girl eventually dragged herself out of the bed. More because that spring that dug into her back had reached impossible to deal with levels of annoyance to her than much else, but also because of the loud rumbling her stomach made. Perhaps skipping last night's meal was a mistake in the long run, but she just didn't want to put up with others. So, a necessary sacrifice.

Once she was able to get some old, semi-stale bread she was able to sate the hunger for the time being. They didn't really have much else, well nothing that Adelyn that didn't seem as rotten as that one crewmembers teeth, and this was perhaps the true reason behind this 'heist' of theirs. The Captain claimed it was to help the people, but really it seemed like it was more they were running out of food and this seemed like the better option. Suppose they wouldn't be pirates if they bought their supplies like normal people.

She proceeded to spend the rest of her time before the mission doing what she could usually be found doing. Sitting in some corner of the ship by herself, reading. Though she really couldn't get into it, she kept the book in front of her and pretended to do so. Turning a page every now and then to keep the act up. Why one might ask? Because it kept most of the riffraff away for the most part. Or if they did approach, if she gave them the cold shoulder long enough they eventually left.

Shortly before they were about to be called in for the mission, she sighed and closed her book. Suppose she had thought about it long enough. There was no word to describe how much she loathed this decision. She was aware that this would probably be the 'point of no return'. If she proceeded with this, then she really would make herself an enemy of the Librarium. But at the same time, she was already viewed as one anyway. She didn't really have a lot to gain from doing this, but she did stand to lose what little she had left if she didn't. Even if the losses from her doing it were only slightly less.

Slowly dragging herself up, she made the exceptionally slow walk towards the hanger. Almost as if her legs were made of lead. Luckily for her, she was one of the last to arrive, though seeing how slowly she had moved it was no surprise, and thus managed to sneak in without much fuss while everyone's attention was drawn to the engineer and scout that were testing out the cloaking technology. She wasn't sure why everyone was so amazed by the sight, but then again seeing how primitive and outdated most of the Cloud Chasers tech was this was probably the equivalent of them inventing the wheel. Or possibly discovering fire. Neanderthals, the lot of them.

Without a word, she coolly took her place beside Amara, making a concentrated effort to put the girl between herself and Laz. It was as obvious as night were to follow the day that the former heiress was obviously not happy about being here, but still, here she was. That said something at least.

Soon after the Captain entered the room. While everyone turned his way, Adelyn didn't even glance in his direction. A heavy scowl forming as she heard the all too familiar booming voice. The incident from yesterday was still fresh on her mind.

And she didn't seem to plan on letting it go anytime soon at the very least. She only turned his way when she felt his gaze fall on her directly, her eyes narrowing considerably as they locked for just a brief moment. If looks could kill, she could've killed him two hundred times over. At least.

But unfortunately for her, they didn't. A shame indeed.

Her response to his words contained no more than an annoyed, disdainful click of her tongue and her diverting her attention to literally anything else. Oh yes, that dirty, disgusting looking stain over on the wall there that probably was the result of someone expelling the contents of their stomachs everywhere after drinking too much? Yeah, she would prefer to look at that then give Ragnar even a nanosecond more of her time. And if she had to make a bet on who made that stain, she would go all out on Alex.

It also helped her ignore the looks she got and the murmuring throughout the crowd. Of course, they weren't happy with a noble being amongst them, especially not an Amberfield. To Sky Pirates, they were turncoats. Traitors and cowards who turned their back on their fellow wizards all those years ago. The fact that many of the family had also served as Hunters, Knights or both and ruthlessly took down Sky Pirates also didn't help. One announcement wouldn't change years of animosity towards her family. And as much as they didn't like her, she liked them even less.

"You should be more concerned about your own." Adelyn's tone was a cold as the look that she gave the first pirate that spoke. A look that made the artic seem like the Arabic desert. When an engineer came over to help her into her glider, she immediately shoved the poor pirate away rather frantically. "Keep your dirty, rotten hands off! By Juno, who knows the last time you bathed.....judging by that smell, I doubt you ever had." Adelyn took a quick sniff and made a face. For the love of Juno they needed a place to clean themselves here.

After a few more, failed, attempts to help her into the glider, each attempt simply meeting the same result the poor engineer finally threw their hands up in the air and trudged off. Especially after each attempt just escalated the insults, the poor engineer. With a huff, Adelyn sloppily put it on by herself. It was clearer than how much she didn't want to be here that she simply just didn't know how to wear one of these things. In fact, she had never worn one before and that much was very much so on display right now.

Had she managed to put the harness on backwards? Dear Juno, she was wearing her glider the wrong way round. What a terrific, inspiring way to start this mission off. The foreign weight dragging her onto the ground the instant she moved her hands away, not expecting it to weigh so much. She had seen her brothers use gliders before, but none so rudimentary or crude as these. These were ancient.

At least things could only get better from here.

.....Right?
