Visual AppearanceWritten AppearancePokkin’s large build makes it hard to buy woman’s clothes from human cities or towns. Thus, when she’s not wearing her native black gi, hand-bandages, or custom-tailored training vest and shorts from her town, she will usually be seen wearing very baggy men’s clothes. She is partial to striking colour combinations, like green and yellow, or pink and pastels.
PersonalityAs a mother, Pokkin is typically motherly, especially as she’s an old tired dog compared to this group of kids. Some of them may be stronger. Some of them may even be better at martial arts, but some of them simply don’t have the experience or survival training that she does. Thus, she sees herself as something of a guardian or possibly mentor to the group.
In combat, Pokkin is well aware of her strategic weaknesses compared to the rest of the team. She cannot fly, and as such has tactics and techniques to bring the fight to her and keep it there. She might not have an explicit advantage at close range with some enemies, but she’s definitely at a disadvantage against an experienced ranged foe.
Pokkin used to be a hothead and a tomboy, and that part of her never went away even with time and family. Even so, she has started to develop a mom’s sense of humor, and her youthful rage has started to give way to sternness. Now she fights to keep her town and family safe.
BackgroundDeep in Fukurou Forest, there is a large town, populated almost entirely by Beastmen. They live a simple life, farming and hunting, and thrive on trading with the nearby City of Yahhoy. Long ago, inspired by the human ninjas who shared the forest with them, the better hunters of the town decided to travel the world in search of these ‘martial arts’, believing they’d be well served to protect the town. They travelled for many years, leaving the town as scarce more than boys and returning as wise old men. They then honed their styles and adapted them into a fighting style tailored to Beastmen, and for the primary purpose of benefitting the village.
Over time, protecting the village with martial arts became less important as technology improved. However, this new school of martial arts was popular in the town. A fifteen year old hyena girl signed up, and though it was unusual for somebody of her age to begin training, and girls were present but in the minority, it was an uphill battle to be taken seriously. Starting with such a handicap made her work at it harder than anybody else, and over the years she overtook the rest of the pupils and graduated her teachers. She had learned everything there was to learn in her town, but still she wasn’t satisfied. She ventured out into the world briefly, but could not find a challenge in the entire western peninsula, and did not want to venture further east into the wider world, so she went back to the forests, and spent many years living alone, and learning what she could from the animals. By the time this self-imposed exile was at an end, she had defeated more dinosaurs than she could count, and returned to her town stronger than anybody had ever seen a fighter.
It has never been told what she found or did out there in the wilderness, but for such an increase in strength, it must have been gruelling training. At this point in her life, she was content with her strength, and settled down as the town’s protector. She fell in love, had a little hyena cub,named Danga, and began to teach her own martial arts as a variant on her town’s more orthodox school. Unfortunately her partner, Yokan, lost his life in a forest fire during the dry summer. Everything was calm for a year or so, but one day she began to sense that change was coming, and it would affect the entire planet.

Techniques-Hunter’s Arrow (A small but powerful ki blast, with good piercing properties.)
-Bear hug (Pokkin traps her foe in a powerful vice-like bear hug. It can be escaped from in many clever ways, but one would need to be at least triple her power level to force her arms open by strength alone.)
-Steel Skin (Pokkin puts her ki into her muscles in order to defend against physical attacks. This requires intense concentration and she cannot do anything else while performing this move. It also offers little extra defense against ki blasts, and instead would leave her open for them.)
-Energy Tether (Fires a ki ‘rope’, that if hits the opponent, tethers them together, forcing them to fight close quarters. It can be shortened or lengthened at will. The tether can be severed by a powerful enough ki attack, but cannot be broken by force unless her opponent is incredibly strong (10 times her power level))
-Predator Rush (A rapid series of strong strikes designed to finish off an opponent or take advantage of a lapse in defense. Pokkin goes all out to make sure every strike is her strongest punch, so this technique is too exhausting to be used in the middle of a long battle. It's more of a finishing move.)
OtherDanga (NPC): He is Pokkin's one year old son. Due to the rate at which young Beastmen grow, he can already walk and talk similar to a three year old child. He is a boisterous, energetic and troublesome child yet not rude, badly behaved or malicious. When he grows up he want to be a fighter like his mom, and can't wait until he can begin training under her properly, though she gives him some basic drills and exercises to sate his appetite for fighting.
