I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.
"Fascinating. This device allows one to be powerful in combat with little physical skill. I imagine this has had disastrous consequences on the moral fiber of your lands, Micheal, but I am glad to have you here alongside us."
"Two hundred thousand rounds!? By the Pope! What a horrible world, where crooked, undisciplined men with evil in their hearts can bring about such destruction! "
So between this thread and the previous dropped RP thread, I went on a trip to Taiwan and got me some Gunpla, which I did a kitbash with (combining parts from different models to make my own design).
A testament to my own personal obsession with remote weapons, I present Mythos Gundam:
Coming back in with this character, the obligatory shota:
Name: Michel Montmartre
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Job: MAX FIRE 1st Independent Special Squadron Pilot
Personality: Michel is effeminate and friendly, seeking harmony between the people around him. He has a tendency to bend over backwards to live up to expectations and will do everything he can and more to make others happy. Because of this, he is often stretched thin and has a tendency to burnout from stress, after which he falls into a self-deprecating slump. He is constantly seeking the approval of others and is easily influenced by his environment.
Skills: Through experimentation, Michel was given the ability to interface with Etherion-powered machines through a specially designed helmet, giving him the ability to telepathically control the ten blades of the two Beamstar Blade rotors that make up his mech's helicopter blades. Michel has good spatial awareness which is a great asset when it comes to piloting a helicopter, and telepathically commanding the Beamstar Blades. Having lived a sheltered life as a lab rat, he has very few life skills to speak of.
Short Bio: A child when his home in France was devastated, Michel was exposed to the Etherion of the monsters that attacked. The organization Max Fire took him in, first to study the potential harmful effects of Etherion on the human body, but later to use his exposure to the substance as a weapon. It became apparent early on that the child had some strange affinity with the new element, and after much research, a special weapons system was designed to take advantage of the child's unique ability. Despite being raised as a child soldier, forced to do constant pilot training and research simulations, the scientists at Max Fire treated Michel with love and care, and taught him to be the compassionate person he is.
Cannot use Beamstar Blades while in Helicopter mode
As for Promethion's visuals, my contribution would focus on the shoulders, and how the beam stars are stored.
Being mounted on the shoulders, they could either be splayed out, or folded, very vaguely resembling the bottom image's right and left shoulders, respectively:
In folded configuration, it could drape downward, like a shoulder cape:
or like this:
Or point forward as a dual shoulder beam cannon:
This form could maybe form a combined quadruple shoulder cannon beam attack, assuming Shrike will be returning.
@Stern Algorithm (sorry for the delayed response) I guess we can do that, help out the cowboy and the assassin. Though I'm pretty sure they can take a couple of bomb throwing goons. I'm more worried about Geno probably need their help more and the sooner they head in his direction the sooner they can help him out. Also if we are able to take down the miniboss we might be able to net some bonus XP off that.
I think Ratchet and Din should help take out the goblin minelayers, since if we can get that sweet route-completion exp, it will help Ratchet and Din catch up experience-wise with the others, since they woke up a bit later than everyone else.
After an amazing display of teamwork from Ratchet and Blazermate, the battle soon ended, with Bowser bombastically boasting about the beaten baddies. Din stopped dancing, her heart racing, but feeling more confident. She had helped! Though she wished she could have done more, this was a start. She picked up Bowser's tophat with Kirby inside, keeping an eye on the healing resting pink puff as King Bowser had commanded. Meanwhile, Tora seeemd keen on getting some answers from the man at the giant mushroom, and Blazermate, Michael, and the Centurion soon followed. But what worried Din the most was the fact that the small cat person, Ratchet, opted to scout ahead. She didn't like the idea of such a small creature going out into the dangerous unknown alone. Din also worried about Geno, the wooden doll in the blue cloak, who had flew on ahead, and hadn't yet returned. As much as she wanted some answers, she decided instead to go after Ratchet.
Carrying Kirby with her, she ran after the Lombax, "Hey! Wait up!" she called out, "Let me come with you. I don't think I've introduced myself. I'm Din, I'm a dancer from Holodrum, but I guess where we're from is meaningless. I don't know if you saw, but one of our allies flew off towards the castle and hasn't returned yet. His name is Geno; he's a wooden doll wearing a blue cloak and cap. I'm worried about him, so I figure I'd come with you. I can't really fight, but somehow my dancing has beneficial effects."
The announcement to stop felt like a punch in the gut for Mari. She stood there for a few moments, stunned, staring at her hands. She had failed the exam. She secured no dummies, she couldn't take a down a single villain, she even let the villain drive away with all the civilians, jeopardizing everyone's efforts. She even sent a mass text telling everyone she'd handle it! As if noticing Hiroki for the first time, she looked in the direction from which he'd flown, and saw off in the distance, Azuki and Umeru dragging what had to be a downed villain. They had succeeded. She remembered her hubris at the beginning of the exam; telling the others to treat the dummies with care despite what the proctor had said, arguing with Hiroki that working together was better, and arguing with Azukina that that saving civilians was more important than taking down villains. She realized now Hiroki's misgivings, he didn't want anyone to hold him back, and she saw clearly that her efforts had been detrimental to the others. She understood now, Azukina's pragmatism, villains were a much greater threat to rescue efforts than she had anticipated, seeing them all kidnapped in one fell swoop. She thought they only cared about winning points, but she saw now the difference between 'heroism' and 'hero work'. On the one hand, she hated their obvious pedigree, that they were raised by heroes and learned the fundamentals from a young age, but she reminded herself of her conviction that no matter one's background, anyone could be a hero, after all, one did not choose one's parents.
She thought back to the scoring system. Did anyone meet or exceed the requirements to pass? A thought crossed her mind, the optimistic idea that the school had to let them pass since they couldn't not admit a certain number of students this year. The thought immediately sickened her, making her hate herself for even thinking it in her desperation. To ride on the coattails of others, to squeeze through on a technicality, to succeed, but not through effort alone, these were acts she stood against as a principle.
Suddenly, she heard Shun's voice. Looking up, she realized that she had destroyed school property. Now she was for sure not getting admitted. The school seemed underfunded enough, how much was a bus even worth? "I...I don't know," she replied to Shun, emptily, "I might walk..." But that last statement reminded her of the condition of her foot, and that she was walking in a borrowed shoe. "We should...convene." Mari started heading towards the starting area, limping like a zombie. As she walked, Mari's mind ran through what she was going to do now with her life. Attending Jigokuraku was her last option. Jigokuraku was the only school that had allowed her to apply without parental consent. Without schooling, she was effectively a runaway, and homeless. She could try supporting herself, but how long would that last? Did she dare go back? No, not after unlocking Thunder Road and halfway blowing her ears out. She finally got away. She just had to keep running.
