Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@Ammokkx: To be fair, probably wouldn't have accepted that. When I say fictional, I mean stuff like fairy tales, Dracula, that kind of thing.
@SimpleWriter: I'd point to fairy tales and stuff like that if you want to use a work of fiction.
@SimpleWriter: I missed it when I was responding to @Bartimaeus, but like I edited into my last post, fictional Archetypes are valid. ^^;
@Bartimaeus: It's not really much like a magical girl.

@SimpleWriter: Oh, sorry, did I miss your post? Yes, they can be based on fiction.
@Bartimaeus: That... doesn't really seem like a magical girl. ^^; Just a girl who turns into a gargoyle. As I've mentioned before, it's fairy who gives out magical girl powers to girls with potential.
@Bartimaeus: It's mainly a matter of searching, but everyone's going to be in the same town since that's where the Hex Night is being held.
@Bartimaeus: I am.
Konpaku Youmu

Smoothly, in the blink of an eye, Youmu had drawn Roukanken. There was the harsh sound of each blade meeting the other, and a sudden shower of sparks. Her opponent seemed adept with the blade as well... so, quite simply, she would have to surpass him! For the moment, both of her hands were in the hilt of her exceptionally long sword, the blade of Roukanken exceeding her own height. She may have been quite a small girl, but the fact that she was wielding a sword that was longer then she was tall was still a rather unusual sight. Narrowing her blue eyes, the small, pale girl slide Roukanken along the length of the man's sword and suddenly twitched her wrist, forcing the weapon to the side! Invoking danmaku rules on her blade, she immediately stepped to his right and unleashed a rapid flurry of thrusts!

Abigail Williams

Ah... her defense was working! She still didn't understand why she was being attacked, but Abigail knew that this person was hurting people, and that was enough for her. She had to do everything she could to stop them, but that meant waiting until she had an opening. She could afford to do that, as far as the small girl was able to tell. The strange, pale woman's attacks simply weren't capable of cutting through the barrier of glowing tendrils that she created. If there was even a brief pause between her strikes, the little blonde girl felt confident that she could counterattack in that instant!

Until the woman stabbed herself.

In a moment of horror, Abigail's jaw dropped. Why... why had she done that? What reason could she possibly have had to do that to herself? it didn't make any sense to the Foreigner-Class Servant, and she couldn't even bring herself to attack when it appeared that her enemy had committed suicide.

At least, until the swords suddenly blazed with blood and fire when they were torn from her body. Surprised, Abby attempted to step back in shock, but that wasn't enough. The swords were now slicing through the tentacles she had summoned easily! Only a few more blows would sever them completely...

She had to... she had to stop that! Abigail couldn't let the enemy break through and attack!

"I... I..."

She took a deep breath... and suddenly let the tentacles part.

"Stay away!"

Crying out her somewhat panicked battle-cry, a brilliant glowing beam erupted seemingly from the center of her forehead, tearing towards the pale woman!

@ACHTUNG: It doesn't really gel with potential concepts and Archetypes that fit there... nor, for that matter, does the power make much sense with those. ^^;

@Anza: Accepted.
Fanilly paused for a moment, warily eyeing the Dark Lady with her sword raised. There was something about her... No, everything about her was sending a tingling sensation up her spine. She was beautiful, but that smug, relaxed expression on her face, and... even if Fanilly had no capability to detect magical energy, she absolutely felt as if it was pouring off of this woman. The Dark Lady cocked her head to one side with a smirk.

"I second Sir Tyaethe's question," Fanilly said, blade glinting as she pointed it towards the woman, "Just what are you doing with all these orcs?"

"Tell them, Master!" declared the drider, brightly, "You're deceiving those orcs and using them as guar-er... you were doing that... they're all dead now..."

"How cute, Esette," commented the Dark Lady, "It's adorable that you trusted me so much... I almost feel guilty."

The drider stared at the Dark Lady for several moments, in confusion.

"... Master? Er, that's what you told me, isn't it?" she asked.

Fanilly's grip tightened on her sword. The truth was becoming quite obvious at this point. The Dark Lady had never told her student the real reason she was using all these orcs, and likely due to the fact that the spider girl had been treated well by her teacher, she had trusted the Dark Lady's word completely.

"Indeed, but I was attempting to avoid any... mistakes," continued the woman, her smirk growing into a grin as she shut one eye, "My true goal was a simple one: To slaughter every last man, woman, and child in the town of Brennan, draw the attention of the Iron Rose Knights, and destroy them~"

It was almost shocking, how bluntly, cheerfully, the woman had explained herself. The drider's eyes widened in shock, and she was left completely speechless by the revelation.

Fanilly stepped forward, her sword raising to point directly towards the woman.

"In the name of the Throne and the Iron Rose, I am placing you under arrest," she said, blue eyes narrowing, "If you do not come quietly, your life is forfeit."

The Dark Lady's grin twitched, and she let off a peal of laughter, hugging herself and bending double as she did. This continued for a moment, before she straightened. A vicious grin was on her face, now, as she placed her left hand above her left eye.

"Come and kill me, then, Iron Roses! Slay the Witch of Wild Thorns, Beatrice!"
