Sometimes you spend so long looking for peace in someone else, you loose sight of that peace you can give yourself. Don't forget that guys.

The Enforcer drifted quietly in it's orbit of the station of Circumtore, though not so low as to draw the ire of the Hutt who owned it. Rumor had it he was already riled up between a failed assassination attempt on the well known Hutt Space neutral ground of Paradise to a raiding of one of his docking bays that lead to the loss of some very precious cargo that had been paid for by an as of yet unnamed party, but it had been mentioned to be more than the original buyer. The pilot spent some time going over what limited information he had before deciding that while this was mysterious, it wasn't linked to what he was searching for, at least not so far as he could tell.
Setting a new hyperspace course, the ship arrived in sight of the legendary Providence-class known as Paradise, the only place in all of Hutt Space that could truly claim to be a neutral ground and mean it. Finding a private hangar to rent wasn't hard, and it's price was, all things considered, fairly reasonable, so after landing, the boarding ramp lowering and allowing the man on board to disembark as the door that allowed entry form the boarding ramp sealed shut behind him, approached a lift. However, as he did so, he felt a slight shiver in the flow of the Force around him, a shiver he'd felt only one other time, when he'd come across a dying Jedi. Stopping in front of the droids, he handed over his blaster and saber tonfa after ensuring they wouldn't accidentally get activated.
He then asked for directions to a decently reputable bar on the ship and for directions. He arrived there and began to drift through the crowds, talking to himself quietly. "I can sense the Jedi on board, but not where he is. I could focus on him, find him that way, but that would expose me and leave me vulnerable. How to handle this..." By this point in his quiet ramblings, he would have come into sight of the Trandoshan and Togruta and droid who were all conversing.
So I had a few questions after having read the story and restrictions set in place.
How exactly do characters generally get to other worlds in this setting to begin with?
What are in character reasonings behind the re-balancing of characters down to level 1, figuratively and literally? Example, Castlevania's Alucard is supposed to be this very powerful vampire character but if he is level 1 his backstory is hard to believe unless there is some excuse. Is that something the virus is doing?
I have a potential character that I may or may not wish to sign up with. Valvatorez, the protagonist of Disgaea 4 and would never consider himself a hero. In short, he is a vampire in charge of Hades that epitomizes the ideals of a Noble Demon. He seeks the natural law and order of the universe, and does so by properly training criminal humans to repent their sins. With that in mind, Demons exist primarily to scare humans away from the darkness. So he would, should he be properly informed, fully support The Balance 110%. Would this be a proper hero in the gray area between villain and hero? As a demon he would find no fault with the use of devious tactics or th slaughter of innocents should it come to his benefit. But as such his allies are natural born heroes and he would stay his demonic tendencies for the greater good.
Alucard is a Kingdom ruler so he's at full strength.
“You endanger the Balance willingly. I cannot allow that to go unchallenged.”
Name: Tarion Je’and
Species: Human
Age: 26
Appearance: Tarion is an impressive sight, standing at a good six feet even with black hair kept short for easy management and a beard that matches his hair in color and brown eyes. He wears light combat armor that’s thicker in the chest and upper legs that’s painted gray and dark blue.
Faction: Technically Independent, actually Order of the Grey
Equipment:
While the lightsaber tonfa is both incredibly difficult to master and unorthodox in their appearance, Tarion is a potent combatant with them and has brought low many threats to the Balance of the Force. Be they Sith, Jedi, or Hutt Space regular, they will find it hard to break the defense these weapons offer. The blades are silver in color, with a special component added to the emitter to make it seem as those lightning dances along them, with hilts made of phrik to avoid being cut into pieces.
The R125 is Tarion’s choice for when charging in with his tonfa isn’t necessarily the best choice, or when he needs to get a feel for a situation. It’s been modified for higher accuracy at longer ranges and more punch upon impact.
ANR Light Combat armor Custom- The ANR is a suit of light combat armor that affords the wearer maximum movement range while still providing some layer of protection against blaster bolts and explosions. Tarion’s is customized with thicker chest and upper leg armor.
The Enforcer is a Fury-class Interceptor that was originally built by the Sith Empire during the Great War for use by the Sith Warriors who lead their troops into battle as their personal transport. When the Order of the Grey was founded, Sith who found themselves no longer trusting in only the Dark Side donated their ships for Guardians to on extended missions. The Order has gone to great lengths to keep the weapons, armor and shields of all their ships updated, and this one is no different. It is Tarion’s home from home for the time being.
Skills: Force Wielder- Having grown up in the hidden enclave of the Order of the Grey and grown up amongst its teachings and techniques, Tarion is a powerful wielder of the Force, having mastery over basic abilities such as the Force Jump, Push, Pull and the Mind Trick as well as being incredibly proficient in several more advanced techniques, including the family Force Flame technique.
Lightsaber Combatant Master- Being a member of the Order, Tarion was trained in several forms of lightsaber combat, and while he is proficient in most, he specializes in Form I, Shii-Cho, Form II, Makashi, Form IV, Ataru, and Form V, Shien/Djem So.
Piloting- Since many missions that see Guardians deployed require a degree of secrecy, all of them are taught how to effectively pilot fighter craft and required to become proficient dog fighters in the event of a space battle.
Weaknesses: Raised in Seclusion-While the Order of the Grey is well informed of the flow of things in the galaxy, they fear being hunted by the reigning Force wielding power again, and therefore raise their children in isolation from the rest of the galaxy in order to avoid being hunted down. As a result, their social skills with the rest of the Galaxy are...lacking. Tarion is no exception, and it shows in his interactions with others.
Little Life Experience-While having learned much on the Order’s home planet and from it’s Archives, Tarion has very little practical life experience, so this mission will prove interesting.
History: Early Life Tarion was born the child of Erzan and Ana Je’and, Ana being the sister of Republic Admiral and General Jason Je’and, though the pair hadn’t had much contact after he joined the Republic. It would seem that the Je’ands kept their name and made the males change theirs. His early life was normal enough, play time, learning ABCs and the like, but there was also times spent teaching him how to manifest his powers, and so from a young age, Tarion was trained.
His training didn’t really begin until he was round seven, when he was able to fully lift a rock off the ground and also maintain his focus. His training, which would normally have been handled by the collective group of Paladins and a handful of Guardians within the Order of the Grey, was handled by his mother, Ana. “Je’ands have always trained Je’ands. There is no reason to change this” was all she would ever say when questioned about it. Training in the Order of the Grey Because he was training under his mother rather than the entirety of the teachers the Order had, his training was different. Eah day started with physical training three times tougher than what he saw his fellow Acolytes doing, his focus and combat training as well. At first, he hated it, taking every moment he wasn’t under his mother’s tutelage to do as he wished and learn what he wished.
But as he grew older, he realized that, as the son of the Grand Paladin, he was held to a higher standard and, with only some minor grumbling, threw himself into his studies. After a few years, he was around thirteen at this point, his mother revealed to him and taught him how to use Force Flame, a lost Force technique that their ancestor Zar’kun Je’and had mastered and passed down to his son, who then passed it to his children, and so on and so forth.
As he got stronger, he learned he could combine different powers for different effects and that certain aspects of the Force came more naturally to him than others, particularly when it came to building and maintaining his lightsabers. By seventeen, he was ready to complete his training. He did so in the traditional matter, reciting the Order of the Grey’s code followed by dueling his master. He then became a Guardian, beholden only to the Paladins and his mother, the Grand Paladin. As a Guardian After becoming a Guardian of the Order of the Grey, he was dispatched on his first mission, rebirth by flame as it were, where he and two other Guardians were responsible for removing a upstart Darkside user who had made himself Warlord on a backwater world in the Unknown Regions. The mission had taken three months to complete, as they other Guardians were new as well and unsure of how to proceed, which made progress slow.
Near the end of the third month, the trio decided that since all their more subtle approaches to removing the Darksider had proven fruitless, a more direct approach was necessary. They struck at night, while the guards, a hired group of mercenaries more interested in credits than morals, were changing shifts. They fell quickly and quietly, though they found the Drunk Dug with a gambling problem a strange addition, the only indicator that they had been attacked was a pair of silver lightsaber blades, a single turquoise one, and dual pair of neon pink blades.
However, the Darksider had been waiting when they burst into his throne room and wounded the other two new Guardians after a brief exchange in which he was offered a chance to surrender peacefully. The wounds kept his companions from aiding him in his fight and left Tarion to finish it alone. The duel lasted several hours with him gaining many wounds, but in the end, his mastery of tonfa lightsaber use won out and the Darksider was slain. After a few weeks in recovery on his return home, he began receiving more missions, the time they kept him away from home varying.
However, with the resurgence of his uncle Jason and his attack on Imperial holdings in Hutt Space, he has been dispatched to operate at an extended length of time to ensure that the Balance of the Force was maintained.
James had been keeping an eye on everything he could, the guard that had been pulled away by Eris, the back door, the room the group was supposed to be meeting in, everything. And he had just put his crosshairs back on the guard talking with Eris when he put his rifle butt to his shoulder. Lily's voice was quiet, but highly concerned."Oh god... He's going to shoot her!" Was her less than calm assessment of the situation.
"I see that." James let out a slow breath and then squeezed the trigger before completely pulling it. Time slowed as the bullet exited the end of the barrel and sailed towards the first man. A sniper knows all his targets before he takes out the first. Before the first guard had even dropped to the ground, his aim shifted to the one still by the front door and he squeezed the trigger again, sending deadly lead towards him as well while he was confused by what had just happened. He knows the order he's going to shoot them in before pulling the trigger. He moved to the back door and, aiming at the corner where it looked like a person was standing, fired again. And he doesn't let any of them leave alive. He then spoke into the radio.
"Cover is blown, move to detain the targets. Eliminate if unable to detain, but they do NOT leave that house."
Damian shrugged, glancing down through the skylight in the guild hall's roof at the gathering of people. That was part of why he'd bothered coming in today, besides getting to see Penny. It was time that Phoenix Wing's S-Class wizards all had a talk with each other. Damian had seen a pattern recently, a disconnect between the three of them that shouldn't have existed, but with all of them leading their own lives, it couldn't be helped. "I don't know yet, but I don't think I will be. Depends on what Zero and Zenoram ask for and what we S-Class decide. Come on, let's find Mayt. We all need to talk."
Leading the way off the roof, Damian entered the guild hall and made straight for the third S-Class before leading the pair back to one of the side meeting rooms and closing the door behind them. Once they were seated, he joined them and sighed. "So, first time in awhile the three of us have been in the same room."
Foreman Takafumi's eyes were bulging and he shouted orders at his men, directing those who'd still bothered to show up where to work with what they few could move and manage. When a man in gold armor and another younger man in leather approached him and the armored man informed him of who they were, he rounded on them. "IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! You know how long ago I asked for help from the guilds? But noooo, the Grand fucking Magic Games start and suddenly no one has time for us! I don't care how historical the damned event is, WE NEED HELP!" James grimaced slightly at the man's language, but after a moment, he finally calmed down. "The last kidnapping was a couple of days ago. I, uh, gave chase, hoping to save him, but I couldn't catch up. All I know is they're somewhere in the eastern forest." James nods, thinking on the matter.
"Don't worry, Foreman, we'll get your people back and make sure the bridge is finished." Nodding, Takafumi returns to directing his men while the paladin leads Cody towards the indicated forest. "So, what do you think? Trick of the eyes perhaps? Seems sloppy to let him see which forest they were in." James knew it was overconfidence on the part of the gangs, but he wanted to test Cody's learning.
When Isabelle initially reacted in surprise, Jane couldn't help but grin widely. "Of course I'm here! Where else would I find a beautiful woman with a penchant for dressing old fashioned?" She then noted the muted tone that Isabelle took and waited as the other woman explained herself. Jane couldn't say she was surprised if she was honest, the few dates she'd been on, with men and women, had been about the same, though her reason was much preferable to the "I found out you're a wizard" or the "you turned out to be really boring, especially since you wouldn't show off your magic earlier." Belle's reason felt...honest.
Or at least, as Jane got the sense there was something more, honest enough. Jane waved a dismissive hand as she took a seat next to her friend. "Water under the bridge love, you apologized for it instead of making up some half assed excuse. That's already a win in my book." The letter, which the requip mage took a great of amount of ceremony to lay out, caused the energy blade user some concern, both for her friend and her own relationship with the rest of the guild.
The only name she knew well from Phoenix Wing was Damian, and he was more by reputation than personally, and Isabella had been the first person to talk to her after her recovery and not be some kind of giant prick. But, she knew that an answer to the dilemma was the only thing that would help the entertainer, so, with a sigh, she spoke as she squeezed Isabella's hand back. "Well, there's no denying it's a rather fantastic opportunity. Hell, dad would be jealous if he were still here. But...well, what about Bullet? And me? And the guild? You're a big part of everyone's lives here and, well, I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want to see you leave." She chuckled a small, sad chuckle. "Hell, I would HATE for you to leave."
After Six signed her story to her companions, the train's whistle blew twice before the PA came alive and the Headless Horseman once more spoke over the loud speaker. "Attention passengers, in order to help kill the time, I'm allowing for team fighting matches! The only rule? No killing! Seriously, the mess is a pain to clean up later and then there's the whole "their souls need returned to their realm for respawn" which is an even bigger pain. Oh, to win, stay standing. Heroes, You'll be the team to beat! Enjoy yourselves and consider this a warm up! King Boo's Boo's aren't going to fight fair, so don't be afraid to get down and dirty!" The PA cuts again and the monsters can be seen getting teams together and heading for the group of four.
The mummies they had been sharing the seats with quickly made themselves scarce and after a moment of sizing each other up, the man in armor approached them. "I am Darion Mograine, leader of the Four Horsemen and second in command to the Deathlord of the Ebon Blade. My companions are Warwick, the Uncaged Wrath of Zaun, wherever that might be, a Hulock Alpha who calls himself Executor and the Abomination Giggles. We offer a chance to test your skill before you face King Boo and, should you best us, I will join you on your return to Tetris Castle. I need to speak with Artanis anyways."
A purple barrier appeared around the group of eight, but before any questions can be raised, the PA comes alive again. "I don't want collateral damage either, so stay in the bubble!" Silence returned and the group of four squared off with the heroes; Giggles with Heavy, Warwick with Slayer, Darion with Six, and Executor with Akira. A count down appeared between the two groups.
"3, 2, 1...FIGHT!"
Darion fired a green skull at Six from the tip of his sword as Giggles threw it's hook at Heavy. Executor made to deliver a heavy overhead swing at Akira as he charged him and Warwick, after unleashing a vicious howl, charged Slayer and made to unleash a series of slashes with his claws.
XP INITIATED!
GM Note: From now on, all players will be required to keep track of their word count. XP will be awarded every GM post. Be sure to check the XP hider to see how much XP your character earned. Remember to keep your CSes updated. I have seen players slack in keeping their XP up-to-date and they have lost XP points because of it. I didn't take the XP away from them, they just didn't keep track of the XP on their own. It is YOUR responsibility if you want your character to level.
P.O.
If a player is inactive for more than 3 days without letting the GMs know of any delays, then the player can be skipped over on the 4th day. If a player does not wish to post, they can Mention the GM and let the GM know he or she "Passes" on his or her turn.
Two minutes ticked onto the clock as he finished his call and Damian grimaced, realizing they didn't have time for the EOD to arrive. But he also wasn't equipped to defuse a bomb. But if he could get it to higher ground...he was going to need help, and he was fortunate that anyone who could offer it was nearby. Opening his phone, he was already moving to inspect the bomb for any means used to secure it. "All SOLDIER 1st Classes, this is Damian Seran. There is a bomb placed at the bottom of the Sister Ray at my coordinates. I've already forwarded them to you and need you here now. We have less than two minutes to save the Sister Ray and Junon."
Finding nothing, Damian instead called on his magic and prepared a 4x-Cut. If nothing else, he could try cutting the bomb wires and hope that cutting them all at once would do the trick and not send them all to an early grave.
