"Wow, this is really loud!"

Nadia's excitement was only shared by Lucas, who had graciously opened the car door for her. After taking his hand and giving him a playful wink, the redhead looked around at all the cars parked and people filtering in. Whipping out her phone, she knew this was an ideal time for a Snap. After making sure her location was on, she quickly checked herself, spotting Victoire's somewhat sour look behind her. Nadia grinned, though she decided to put her phone away for the moment. Lucas was the one who had informed her about Santiago's party initially, and she didn't see why she would decline the invitation for a little fun. The school year had just started, but it was a nice way to formally say goodbye to summer. Or something. What did surprise her was when Victoire had wordlessly gotten into the car with them as well. She would have figured the strict President wouldn't dare sully her record by getting caught at a place where underage drinking was allowed, but there she was, bikini-clad with about zero fucks to give.

As she tousled her hair, she realized Victoire was staring at her, obviously wondering why she was looking at her funny. She redirected her gaze at her phone, hitting the button to start the Snap. "Time to party!" She announced as they walked, sticking her tongue out slightly.

Lucas immediately jumped into the frame, slinging his arm around her shoulders. "It's big, it's wild, it's amazing--and I'm not talking about the party, ladies," He gave her phone a suggestive wink, managing to keep her trapped as she tried to push him away.

"No! Oh, geez!" She laughed as she posted it anyway, shoving him off her. As she adjusted the strap of her black swimsuit, her eyes started looking at the various people around. There were plenty of faces she recognized and some she didn't, but for the most part, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Once she made sure her waterproof case was secure, she turned to Victoire, though before she could ask what the dark haired girl wanted to do, Vic had already made a beeline for the alcohol. "She must be fun at parties," She commented.

Lucas grinned in agreement, temporarily taking his eyes off the cutie he spotted in the pool to reply. "The best things in life are free, my friend. Just try not to go overboard, puking girls are a major turnoff," He warned her, deciding to go ahead and leap into the pool. As the cool water refreshed him, he popped back up, his eyes on the girl who had jumped in. What the heck was her name again? Something with an E? No, S? A? Oh, who cares?

Breathe in, breathe out
Some way, some how
Say it all, say it now
Or don't say anything.

Everything appeared to be going pretty okay. Jordan waas friendly. Kavi shook his hand in return, though with his trademark smirk. That was to be expected. There wasn't much she could do about that small fact, so she said nothing. Ariel was actually starting to think that maybe, just maybe, things were starting to look up for the night. At least that's what she was thinking right up until the point Kavi grabbed her wrist.

As soon as he touched her, Ariels body turned into a live wire as adrenaline began coursing through her veins. It wasn't Kavi's fault that she felt like her throat was closing up, or that she locked eyes with Jordan for a split second - a silent scream of help. It also wasn't Kavi's fault that memories of being drug down the hall were currently flooding her mind. It wasn't his fault because he wasn't the one who put them there. She felt herself attempt to jerk away, her voice coming out as a whisper the first time she said no. With every step they took, she felt herself panic more and more. Felt her face getting hotter and hotter. Not from embarrassment, but because she was about to cry for the second time that night.

The second time she attempted to yank herself away, it worked. "No, she practically yelled, a few faces turning in their direction. Ariel wouldn't realize just how loud she was speaking until later. "Kavi, no. You can't just drag people around. You can't make them do something they don't want to. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go finish welcoming Jordan to Hell."

Turning to walk away from Kavi, she wouldn't look up from the ground until she got about three feet away from Jordan. Upon doing so, she would find herself surrounded by ghosts of her past. She had just flipped out on her bigget crush. Bystanders, Acccent Dude, her ex-best friend and her sidekicks, had all been there to witness it. Did the Universe really hate her that much? Sure as hell appeared that way.

Ariel cleared her throat, speaking to Marisol. "Hi."

"Tattoos and a switch-blade attitude. Snake bite heart with a bubble gum smile."

The party was absolutely amazing. The music was loud, the night sky full of stars. Best of all, Raven was surrounded by friends. Though she did feel bad for ditching Oliver, she was sure he could handle himself. Having the time of her life while dancing to the beat, the young woman would find herself slipping away from the crowd as the song finally ended. Making her way through the yard, stepping over a few people that were already passed out, she seen quite a few people arrive. Only one particular person caught her eye, however: a tall, hot, dark skinned young man that had arrived with a younger girl? His girlfriend, maybe? No. If she was correct, they were both two of the new kids at school.

Making her way over, Raven greeted the young man with a warm smile. "You're one of the new kids, right," she asked. "I'm Raven. Or Trip. Whichever you prefer. What brings you to the Devils Lair?"

“Same as everyone else. To dance with the devil. Anyway, Trip, I'm going to check this shit out.”

JJ laughed nervously as his sister responded to the girl who had introduced herself as Raven. She had been the first person to approach the two as they entered the party since they got here, though it wasn't her that made him anxious. It was her words. He had come here to placate his sister's want to go out and have a good time; and now this girl was telling him the party was called “The Devil's Lair”? What did that exactly mean? His hands, shuffled in his pockets clung to the denim inside as a thousand anxious thoughts clamored in his head as he wondered if he walked into something he could not handle.

“Sorry about that. My sister is a little wild. I'm Jon, though my friends call me JJ.” He commented as his sister disappeared into the crowd almost as quickly as she had "introduced" herself. He hoped to god the amount of trouble she got into was managable; especially since he was the one who had to take her home.

He looked around at the party nervously and he trailed off for a second.

“So why do they call this the Devil's Lair? I didn't really get the memo.”

I Just Wanna Live
Unlike most of his peers, Kavan Varma had not initially planned on attending Santiago's big shindig. Instead, the young man had been roped into spending this particular Friday night at home with his family; not only was it movie night in the Varma household, but Kavan's older sister also happened to be bringing her boyfriend home to meet them all for the very first time. It didn't take much convincing to get Kavan to agree to it all; truth be told, he looked forward to aiding his parents in embarrassing his sister in every way he could possibly think of. In fact, Kavan had even strategically placed multiple baby pictures of Amoli Varma all around the kitchen, dining room, and den so that her hot date was guaranteed to find at least one of them before the night was over.

Kavan had only just begun to delve into a few embarrassing childhood stories with his sister's man when his cell phone began to vibrate in his back pocket. After reading Archer Diedrikson's text message, Kavan couldn't help but feel conflicted. While he certainly didn't want to skip out on the rest of family time, he also didn't want to miss out on the first party of the year, especially when his friends were going to be in attendance. After thinking it over for a moment, Kavan suddenly stood from his seat at the dining table and motioned for a nearby butler to take away his empty plate. "Dinner was great, mother," Kavan said with a sly smile as he began to inch his way out of the room, "And it was so nice to meet you, dude. But you know, I have a lot of homework to catch up on, and I forgot that I'd promised Archer that I would go to his place for a little study session." As Kavan spoke, Amoli Varma could be seen at the other end of the table, narrowing her eyes at her baby brother.

"No way," Amoli said, crossing her arms over her chest, "You're not weaseling your way out of this just so you can go hang out with your little boyfriend." Kavan, struggling to keep from rolling his eyes, simply shrugged his shoulders and slowly began to make his way back to his original seat.

"I mean, I can always cancel on him," Kavan said with a sigh, "Besides, I still have so many stories that I haven't told our new friend here, right? Like what happened on your first day of col-"

"No!" Amoli Varma yelled suddenly as she jumped out of her seat. After noticing the weird looks she received from her family members, however, she regained her composure and sat back in her chair. "I mean, maybe you should go study with Archer. You do want him to get high grades this semester, right mother?"

Kavan arrived at Santiago's party about ten minutes after he'd gotten the text from Archer. As soon as he got the OK from his parents, the young man had rushed upstairs, changed into his swim trunks, and took the quick drive to the location of the party. As Kavan approached the front doors, the music grew louder and the amount of drunk teenagers flailing around began to increase. It only took him a few moments to find Archer; he'd arrived near the bunch of Misfits right in time to hear someone yell. "Kavi, no. You can't just drag people around..." was all Kavan heard before he decided to tune the entire thing out completely. Instead, he headed straight for the refreshment table.

"Sup, guys," Kavan said, nodding his head in greeting as he poured himself a drink. Kavan had never been much of a drinker; in fact, he hardly drank at all thanks to the awful taste of nearly every alcoholic beverage. That night, however, would be the one exception. After all, he was kicking off his final year of high school, so what the Hell?

“Don’t take that one, it’s too hot!” Catherine said, through the speakers of his laptop.

“Babe it’s a pool party. I'm supposed to look hot!” Jason defended himself. He stood in his room, holding shorts in front of him before a massive mirror. His girl could be a little overbearing sometimes. But that’s just because she didn’t trust anyone at King Academy. For good reason though. Jason told her enough stories. “I promise I’ll wear a shirt.”

“Nope, not good enough. I forbid you from going!” she said with her playful voice. “I’m kidding. Of course. I just wish I was there with you. You know. Besides I hear Florida parties are like a thousand times more awesome than New York ones."

Jason threw the red short in his bag and dropped on his bed in front of the laptop. “Maybe you could come here next break. I'd organise a pool party just for you." Which wasn't a bluff. Especially as he had a rather big swimming pool and outdoor bar. "Maybe we could celebrate New Year over here then!"

His girl smiled. “I just miss you.”

“I miss you too. And I love you! But I have to go! I’ll call you!” He said, without skipping a beat. Yes, he loved her. It was one of the certainties he had in life. He loved Catherine. He threw her a quick kiss before he closed his laptop. He didn’t have much time anymore.

Jason tried to sneak downstairs and get through the front door. He didn’t really need to sneak. His mother wasn’t home. But he still did it, in the off chance she was. No way she’d let him go to the party. Not a Santiago party at least. He thought he was victorious when he found his keys in the kitchen and managed to reach the front door. Which promptly swung open and his mother stepped through. She cast one look at Jason standing before her with keys and bag in.

“I’ll have to call you back.” Which was never a good thing to hear. “So where do you think you’re going?”

Jason swallowed hard. “Small party?”

His mom just shook her head. “You’re not going.”

“Wait what!?”

His mom didn’t even turn around: “You heard me. You’re not going. You think I’m stupid? I know what’s going to happen. It starts with a shot and the next thing I know I’m a grandmother! No.”

Jason chased her into the kitchen where she put down her bags. “You and I both know that’s not going to happen! C’mon mom, the entire school is going. Even the nerds!”

His mother still didn’t look at her son as she pulled some papers out of the bag. “You’re not going.”

But Jason wouldn’t let it go: “Mom! You can’t just expect me to-“

“Quiet!” She snapped. “I am expecting you to stay home! I will not let you embarrass this family by going partying like some delinquent! And that’s that.” She said as she dropped her papers and held both of her hands on the table. She looked so tired. Tired and angry.

Jason looked at his mother for a moment. Showing real pain in his face. She knew how much the respect of the family meant to him. She knew! Yet she just threw it out there. She never had to tell him to go to his room. He just did.

But Jason wasn’t about to just sit on his fate. No, once in his room he crawled out of the window and looked down. Grass. Long grass. ‘It’s not going to hurt. C’mon you can do it. You can do it!’ he thought to himself. With one push off the windowsill, he fell down and completely forgot to roll it out. Instead, his legs took the full force of the fall and he dropped down against the ground, squirming in pain for a second. “Mother-“ he shouted out, stopping himself with all the willpower he had. If his mom found him now he’d be burned for a month. So stiffening the pain he slowly crouched towards the road. One Uber order later and he was heading towards the party.

The pain in his legs vanished after he popped one of Santiago’s painkillers. Sure it wasn’t the healthiest thing but who cares!? He was young and free! Before he did anything else (even drinking) he quickly went to the bathroom to change. True to his girlfriend’s wishes he put on the plain, slightly oversized shirt. After that, he began to look for Santiago. He couldn’t just start partying without saying hi to his friend and host now, could he?

Yet as he walked over to Santiago, in the corner of his eyes he caught a glimpse of a raven-haired girl. Before he knew it he turned slightly to get a better view. He saw Victoire going straight for the bar. Though another thought shot through his mind. A though he quickly branded wrong and tried to exorcise. It worked, partially. There was still that tiny little voice in the back of his head and Jason was very aware of it. Well, if he couldn't banish the thoughts. Maybe he could drown it. So he followed Victoire, went straight for the bar and poured himself two tequila shots.

L O C A T I O N / / Santiago’s Party
I N T E R A C T I O N S / / Hot Redhead

Kavi was more than happy to save Ariel from the absolute boredom that she likely was to face from the storm of British dullness that was that Jordan guy. He didn’t bother catching the last name. He wasn’t even sure if the guy had even said a last name. The only thing he cared to focus on was how Ariel appeared to be bored, so there was no doubt in his mind that she wanted to be saved from his more-than-subtle action of pulling her by the arm, though in his eyes he saw it as gracing Ariel with his company. How was that a bad thing?

And yet, at the moment that followed him taking her by the wrist less than five feet, Kavi Salvador experienced something he had never experienced in his time dating in just the past year: a girl said no to him. Not in the kind of way that made him sound like some rapist. Kavi has a long list of people he has dated. The entire list included girls within his age group who have shown some kind of interest in him and he, of course, indulged them. While the fun lasted, if Kavi found himself to be bored of their company, he’d just gently let them down. If they didn’t go down without a fight, he would be blunt. That was simply how he was.

So, imagine the teen’s surprise when he not only saw the look of flat-out rejection in Ariel’s face but the way she appeared to be completely against the idea of Kavi Salvador whisking her away like the Prince Charming-type he always saw himself. Never in his life did someone reject him. Who did she think she was? Kavi didn’t get rejected; he did the rejecting.

Everything in his body was telling him to walk over to her and turn on the charm, but once Kavi saw who had just arrived at the party halted him in the half-step he took forward. He definitely didn’t want to deal with those who would automatically give him a hard time simply because he acted certain ways. So, no thank you. Kavi was not going to deal with the Misfits that claimed sole ownership of being actual Misfits. They were his friends, yes - well friendish people - but he didn’t feel like dealing with their criticism right now. So instead, he opted to turn completely around and see what else this party had to offer.

He ended up spending the next five or so minutes hovering around the various areas of interest of the main party. He saw a lot of people shouting too loud for his own good. There was no way in any hell that may or may not exist he was going to willingly give those annoying brats his time of day. If they wanted to come his way, they would have approach him, not the other way around. Around that same time, Kavi caught the glimpse of the Class President, Victoire Bailey and her...whatever they darted away from each other. She made her way to where alcohol was in full view while the other two went for the pool. He definitely wasn’t going to bother Vic, so he opted to go to the pool area.

Casually, the teen took a seat next to the positively hot redhead as she seemed to be talking to that Lucas guy. Kavi remembered seeing him around the quad during the week. He couldn’t remember exactly what his last name was. Anderson or some shit, but Kavi didn’t necessarily care about remembering it right now. He was more focused on the strawberry blonde next to who he took a seat next to.

“You’re Nadia, right? I remember seeing you around the school,” Kavi casually said, giving Nadia his typical smile. “You’re the head cheerleader, aren’t you? I mean. How could you not be? You’re definitely attractive enough to assume the role.” Kavi was not shy about being blunt, though his voice had a somewhat flirtatious charm about it. “I’m Kavi. Kavi Salvador,” he extended a hand out in front of her, brandishing the same smile still.

Life had never seemed to be pointing upwards as it did right now for Stella. She heard laughter and all forms of jovial reactions to the party as she enjoyed the refreshing feeling of the pool. The heated pool this late at night felt so good because, while the air was kind of brisk, the warm water all over her fleshy body made Stella become overtaken by such a good, giddy, full-of-sunshine-and-rainbow feeling. All of what she thought this party was going to be like had - at least thus far - not bene like she imagined.

As she swam for a bit and looked around the party, she happened to see Diablo talking to Bea Endive. Oh poor Bea. Stella was almost tempted to go over there and do..someting, but she stopped herself. She knew that as soon as she got out of this pool, she wasn’t going to stop Diablo from talking to Bea. The only thing that came to her as she would approach that man was how she’d give into her lack of self-control when she was around the man. Even as she was enjoying herself at his party, far away from where he was right now, she could feel herself become overcome with the desire to just go over there and say hello; but that wasn’t how this was going to go for her. Absolutely not! Stella Lambert wasn’t going to start degrading herself by willingly going over there.

“Just keep swimming~ Just keep swimming~” She chanted to herself in a sort of sing-a-long mantra tune.

As she floated and dove and did the butterfly stroke, she managed to tire herself within a short amount of time. This prompted her to go to the shallow end of the pool and just rest up. And because of that action, the girl happened to see someone she recognized along with someone else she knew right away. Kavi was over here, talking to Nadia! But that wasn’t what caught her eye. Some totally, incredibly, without-a-doubt-attractive man with the most alluring eyes was just a few feet away from her. Lucas Anderson was his name. She knew him because they had history together. One thing she wondered if they had chemistry with each other.

Oh go, don’t think like that Stella! She wanted to shoot herself in the foot right now for thinking that, but she knew the blood would show, so better not bring too much attention to herself. Instead, as swell as she could, Stella put her best ‘normal’ face on and smiled the hot man’s way. “Lucas! Heyyy! It’s me Stella. Remember? We have Government together.” Oh that was an obvious conversational starter. Please don’t let it be a waste of first things to say.

“Boy am I glad Kavi decided to not come over here,” Sonny gave a sigh of relief.

He might like the guy on some days, there was no way in hell he wanted to deal with that guy, especially after how Ariel Grey gave the teen his first rejection. Sonny has known Kavi a long time and if there was one thing the Drake teen was sure of, Kavi Salvador wasn’t going to take that well. With that aside, though, Sonny was just glad to not have to deal with Santiago, either. As he saw it, the further that ass flower stayed away from him the better. If he knew what was good for him, he wouldn’t want to mess with Sonny.

Taking a sip of his drink, Sonny happened to notice two new arrivals at the area they were at come within moments of each other. Of course, there was Ariel but Kavan also joined them. “Kind of glad you decided to show up. I’d much prefer the Indian Kavi instead of the Polynesian Kavi.” Sonny admitted with a sense of relief in his voice. “After the scene that just happened, I imagine the dumbass is probably in a sour mood. First time getting rejected and all that,” Sonny laughed. He didn’t know why but Kavi getting rejected was the best thing about this party. “And we have you to thank, Ariel. I have to imagine he’s not gonna be happy.”

"My friends don't walk - they run."

Raven laughed at the younger girls response. Her spunk was something that Raven could appreciate. "No worries," she responded herself, sticking her hands in her back pockets. "She seems like a lot of fun." Trip glanced back over her shoulder to walk Jon's sister walk away before his voice brought her back into reality.

"I think it's more of a me thing really," Trip said with a shrug of the shoulders. "This is Santiago Fernandez's place. Other wise known as Diablo. Or The Devil. Biggest drug pusher in all of Kings Academy. He's also kind of a dick. Since it's his place, and he is known as the Devil..." Her words trailing off, Trip got the feeling that the young man had no idea what he had gotten himself into. "He's known to throw some of the best parties around. Loud music, large crowds, massive amounts of drugs, alcohol, and drama. They're cool. Sometimes."

C'mon, JJ," she said, pointing with her thumb to the crowd. "I'll show you around. You look like you could use a guide."

Well, Jordan had always put a lot of stock in first impressions, and Kavi Salvador was acting slightly like a cocky shit. He had an arrogant smirk plastered across his face as he returned Jordan’s handshake, squeezing like he was trying some alpha shit. After releasing their grips, Kavi went straight back to bragging for Ariel and ignored him again. Jordan took the chance to surreptitiously wipe his palm clean on his shorts.

“Well, ya know, I figured El Asso deserved only the best that Kavi Salvador had to offer,” Jordan was quickly losing interest in the conversation. While he’d initially approached Ariel because she was cute and alone, Kavi butting in had quickly made her lose the appeal of aloneness. He took a quick break to take a look around the party around them, hoping to spot Bea or someone he knew. Droplets splattered down around them on the wet tiles as a girl surfaced from the center of a bomb zone of turbulent water in the pool. There were yet more people arriving, spilling out of the back doors and walking into the pool area. A ring of drunk partiers were making attempts at dancing around a massive speakers blaring reggaeton.. “...let's go dance.”

Woah, hold on a sec, what had just happened? Take your mind of a conversation for one second.. Kavi was towing Ariel off by the hand towards the dancers, ignoring her weak protests. She locked her eyes on his for a second in a silent plea. Man, fuck being the nice guy, he was going to give that shit a piece of his mind.

‘Oi, shithead..’

“Hey!” He turned away from Kavi and Ariel for a second to see a short girl, accompanied by a small posse calling out to him. The gears churned in his head for a second before he remembered Marisol, and assumedly her gang of Misfits. Archer he knew from English, and the asian was probably the Jun Bea had mentioned. The other guy was an unfamiliar face.

“You’re that new Brit kid from English, right?” Well hey, she recognized him at least. That was a start.

‘Yeah, that’s me.’

“Cool. I’m Marisol, and these are my buddies: Archer, Sonny and Jun. We’re The Misfits. Welcome to Palm Beach.”

Sonny, he thought, storing the name away. ‘It’s good to meet you guys,’ he said, nodding at them. ‘But can you give me a second? I’ve got to go give my friend a hand.’ He turned away from them back to Ariel’s predicament.

"No!” She was shouting at Kavi now, who was looking almost stunned at being turned down.

"Kavi, no. You can't just drag people around. You can't make them do something they don't want to. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go finish welcoming Jordan to Hell." Ariel was looking pretty upset- while Kavi had been pretty forceful the reaction seemed out of proportion for the situation. Maybe she just didn’t like being touched. Staring at the floor as if in shame at her outburst, she didn’t notice the Misfits until she was back next to Jordan. She cleared her throat before greeting Marisol awkwardly.

"Hi."

Luckily, Kavi seemed to have seen reason and taken the high road, disappearing into the crowd and haze. At least he’d had the grace to do that and prevent a scene, but the crowd around them was still growing larger. The drink table seemed to be the place to be and the drama was exacerbating the throng. He spotted Victoire pouring shots down her throat further along like it was going out of style and a blond kid he didn’t recognize joining the action.

‘You alright there, Ariel? What was that all about?’ he said, offering her a cup of punch.

Johnny and the Triplets

Parties were not Johnny's scene, and certainly not Santiago Fernandez's parties. They were loud, long, and full of sex and drugs. But he had to, at the suggestion of his parents to accompany the Howard triplets to their first Crown Heights party. At least he'd have Dylan to hang around with. That is, unless Dylan decided to become popular, subsequently leaving him alone. He doubted Elijah would turn up. Decked out in a loose fitting white shirt, with the top two buttons undone, a pair of linen shorts and sandals, he climbed into his car, preening his hair in the rear view mirror. He got out his phone and texted Dylan:

I'll be at your place in five. Good luck surviving your first party.
- Johnny

Dylan looked down at the ping of his phone, and read the text from Johnny, relieved that he wouldn't have to be on his own with his siblings for much longer. He looked up from where he was sitting on Kate's bed, phone in one hand, drink in the other, and saw Kate doing her makeup, and Paul having a drink. Of course, Paul's drink of chocie was a bottle of whiskey, as opposed to Dylan's more tame choice of a vodka and coke.

"Johnny's going to be here in a few minutes, so make sure you're ready to go." he told Paul and Kate.

"Hurry up, Kate, why are you taking so long with this, since when did you even have this makeup?" Paul asked Kate.

"Because, 'Mr. Perfect Body and Face', I want to impress people, and if there's ever a time to impress people and make friends, it's the first party of the school year."

"Hey," Paul retorted, "I don't just get by on my good looks, Kate, I get on with my personality too."

"Ah, yes, that winning personality that you have. I know it so well.

"And what's that supposed to mean?"

"It doesn't matter," Kate told Paul, tunrning around to face him, "I'm done anyway. I just have to go to the toilet."

As Kate walked out to go to the bathroom, Paul turned around to Dylan, who had returned to browsing his phone.

"Are you just going to go on your phone all night?" Paul asked Dylan.

"Um, probably not, why?"

"Can't have my brother being a longer, right at the beginning of school"

Dylan let out a small chuckle, "Because it would ruin your repuation?"

"Well, that, and I want you to have a good time, loosen up, you're always too worried about everything"

Before Dylan could reply, Kate walked back in, and they heard the honk of Johnny's car horn.

"Come on then, let's go," Kate told her brothers, and the tree of them walked out of the house and into Johnny's car.

Johnny noticed the triplets leaving the house pushing open the door leading to the passenger seat, the music he was playing blaring out into the street. An album by his favourite band: Kinda Kinks by The Kinks. He didn't like to play loud music, but he needed to cleanse his soul before listening to whatever garbage Diablo would be playing at his hell-fest.

"Thanks so much for giving us a lift," Kate said to Johnny, as she and Paul got into the back of the car and Dylan got into the front.

Johnny flashed a smile at Kate. He was always unsure how to talk with her. Well, her and Paul. Paul was too intimidating, and Kate was, well, female. As he had proven earlier that week, Johnny was not good at speaking to girls. Thankfully, he got along well enough with her to be able to remain civil. "You're welcome. You look nice tonight. The girls at Diablo's place had better hold on to their boyfriends." He said, unaware if it sounded like he was flirting or not.

Dylan smiled at Johnny as he got into the car, and let out a small "Hey."

Johnny smiled back, nodding, responding with a "Hey there." He decided not to verbally greet Paul, instead he raised a hand in his direction.

"I hope you don't mind the music. I felt the need to listen to some of the classics before we listened to whatever's on at that party. I hope you guys remembered your swimming gear." Johnny pulled out of their drive, quietly singing along to the song playing on his radio. He decided it would be best to make conversation, so he waited for an instrumental break before awkwardly saying "So, how are you guys taking to King's Academy?"

"School's alright. Same as the old school, just in a different place, I guess. Dylan told Johnny

"Does wearing nothing count as swimwear?", Paul said, with slight seriousness

Kate tutted, "You wish it did, can't you take a day off of being so obnoxious?"

"Obnoxious?" Paul asked, furrowing his eyebrows and taking another swig of the whiskey bottle, "People don't think I'm obnoxious," he told Kate, before turning to Johnny, "I'm not obnoxious, am I, Johnny?"

"Yes, yes you are" Johnny answered, without a moment's hesitation. This, he knew, was not the way to make friends, but he didn't really care. Paul was not the sort he wanted to be friends with, and he was sure the triplets knew this. "That said, I'm sure the devil won't mind a bit of skinny dipping."

Kate and Dylan both laughed at Johnny's response, whilst Paul just gave him an annoyed look, though Johnny probably couldn't see it from the front seat.;

"That was a good answer," Dylan told Paul, before looking back at Paul, and chuckling a bit more at his mood.

Unfortuantely for Johnny, the sound of reggaeton music infiltrating his car meant that he'd arrived at his destination. He parked his car with the others, bracing himself for the hell the awaited him. "Right-o, I'll be the one driving you guys home, so try not to pass out from alcohol poisoning," were his final remarks before leaving the car.

Taking yet another swig of his bottle, Paul asks Johnny, "What, do you think I'm some alcohol?" before considering what Johnny's answer may be, and then added, "Actually, don't answer that."

Entering the party, Johnny chose not to say anything to Santiago, or anyone, instead awkwardly standing in the corner alone, hoping a UFO would come down and abduct him.

The triplets all got out of the car, and went their separate ways. Dylan trying to follow Johnny, Kate going to find any girls she could make friends with, whilst Paul went to try and get popular by seeing if there were any guys who looked like people liked them.

"So, uh, what are Crown Heights parties like, then? Dylan asked Johnny.

Whilst Dylan went to speak to Johnny, Kate walked up to Victoire, the only person she had managed to remember from school, seeing as she was known to everyone, even the new girl, and started talking to her.

"Hey," she said, trying not to be the awkward new kid, "how's it going?"

Contrary to her party-going peers, this particular Friday night was a regular one for Martha Radley. The dark-haired young woman had chosen to ignore the many invitations to Santiago Fernandez’ party, preferring to stay at home and enjoy the comfort of her bedroom. At a few minutes past ten, Martha was in the zone. She stood right in the middle of her room, staring intently at a freshly-painted canvas while holding a used paint tray in her left hand. Wet and dry paint alike covered most of the exposed areas of her body, evidencing the dedication she was putting on the painting. The movie Queen Of The Damned was playing loudly in the background: the source of inspiration for her newest art piece. As Queen Akasha made her bomb-tastic appearance onscreen, the young woman took hold of one of the paintbrushes in her apron. Then, she proceeded to daintily dip the brush in one of the dark gold concoctions on her tray, and began to give soft strokes on the canvas.

The painting was that of a male vampire embracing his female human lover from the back in front of a twilit background. The male was your stereotypical vampire: tall, muscular, pale, and with a spectacular pair of long, bloodstained fangs. He was shirtless, wearing nothing but a pair of beige trousers and looking down at his mortal lover with an aroused expression. The mortal woman in question wore a deep purple Victorian dress, neck exposed to the vampire and revealing two red puncture wounds where her lover had planted his deathly kiss. Long locks of dark hair cascaded down and reached right under her ample bosom, accentuated by the dress’ corset. The woman’s eyes were closed, mouth slightly open in what seemed to be a pleasured face. To an outsider looking in, there was nothing more to be said about a typical goth vampire painting. However, to the students in attendance at King's Academy, the inspiration behind faces of said figures in the canvas were inspired by two very real people. One of these people was the artist behind the painting, preserving her currently youthful appearance in the canvas. The other was none other than Andrés De La Fuente.

Was it pathetic? Yes. Damn awkward? Very much so. Would these things stop her anytime soon? Not a chance.

Starring Chanel | April | Julie

Julie sat in front of her vanity mirror putting on the final touches of her makeup, one might ask why she was putting on makeup when she was going to a pool party but Julie wasn’t planning on going in that egg-drop soup of a pool. With one last swipe of the mascara wand she was finished, putting the tube away in her bag in case she needed to touch up later. Casting an eye on her watch she couldn’t help but feel a little bit uneasy, ever since April had invited Julie and Chanel to this party that she had helped throw Julie has had this knot in the pit of her stomach. But the redhead figured it was time to try to mend the broken friendship between her and April since it was their last year at King’s and all, plus she knew Chanel never wanted to pass up a chance for a good party.

Standing up slowly Julie made her way to her closet to pick out an outfit to wear. She stood there for a while pondering, she needed something that made a summer statement but still casual enough for a pool party. Finally deciding on a vintage 1997 Macmillan S/S sundress that she paired with a pair of low vans, she was done.

Julie gathered her bag and phone as she left her room and headed out of her house to wait for April who had offered to drive the girls to the party. She stood in her driveway silently hoping she had picked up Chanel first, but mapping it out in her head told her that the chance of that were slim.

The sound of Three Days Grace’s Break rang through the garage as April worked under the hood of her prized car. Having changed from the preppy school uniform, April now donned a rather lackluster combination of grease-stained jeans and a tank top. Having spent the majority of her time after school prepping Diablo’s house for tonight’s party, April wanted some alone time before she had to pick up Julie and Chanel. This time, now bordering 45 minutes, had been spent idly tuning her car up and cleaning every nook and cranny on it.

Now, for the final check. April opened the driver’s side door and collapsed into the seat, pressing down the brake and turning the key. A grin spread across her face as the engine roared to life, before temptation took over and she revved the car a few times. Now satisfied with the success of her work, April shut off the car went inside. Looking at her phone briefly, she had all but thirty minutes to get ready. With a quiet curse to herself, she climbed the stairs two at a time and ran into the bathroom, quickly cranking the knobs in the shower as she stripped down.

One steamy shower and ten minutes later, April was finally close to being ready. Dressed now in a rather formal get-up--a long flowing dress with no back--April put the final touches on her hair with a few hair pins. She’d gone all out with the little time she’d left herself, hoping Chanel wouldn’t go too hard on her for the choices. April wasn’t terrible at choosing an outfit, but she’d be damned if Chanel wasn’t the queen of the Palm Beach fashion world. “Alright.” April said to herself out loud, mainly to reassure herself that she was in fact ready to go this time. She slipped on her pair of flats before walking back into the garage, being careful to not get her dress dirty as she made her way to her car. Once again, she slid into the driver’s seat, only this time when she started the engine, she let it rumble quietly as the car effortlessly backed out. In typical April fashion, she flew down the quiet, narrow roads of the suburbs at lightning speed and attracted quite a few looks as the eight-cylinder engine roared. It was mere minutes before April pulled up to Julie’s house, revving the engine to get her attention, not that it was easy to miss the Arctic-white Maserati.

Julie was startled at the sound of April’s car arriving as she was engrossed in her own thoughts. She tried to compose herself as she walked up to the passenger side door. “You sure like your cars loud don’t you.” She whispered as she slipped in to the seat next to April. As they slipped out of the Macmillan driveway Julie started to rummage in her purse looking for nothing at all, merely as an attempt to fill the awkward silence that filled the car. Finally finding an old packet of gum Julie popped a piece in and started to chew, looking out of the window at the houses flashing by.

After a few minutes Julie couldn’t take the silence anymore so she blurted out the first thing that arrived in her mind “So, uhm, are you and Santiago together?” she regretted it as soon as the sentence exited her lips.

April had been in a relatively good mood up to this point, even if tonight did mean spending a few awkward moments with Julie. But now? Now that had changed. The entire reason April and Julie had fallen out was because of Santiago, how he had treated Julie like trash and how April had never believed a word of it. Why should she have? Santi had treated her incredibly well since the two had met and apart from a few hiccups here and there, it had been relatively smooth sailing. April’s mind raced as the few words exited Julie’s mouth, her attitude turning on end from happy to irritated. “Does it matter? Like, why do you even care Julie?”

Julie was taken aback with the aggression behind April’s voice, her eyebrows knotting together. How could she even ask that? April knew how Julie felt and what Santiago had done to her, going about boasting that they had been together and calling her names. But it was not his actions that had made her felt crushed no those feelings were entirely brought on by April not believing her and getting with Santiago. She shifted in her seat “I only ask because I want you to be on your guard, but I know you can fight your own battles so whatever…”. She felt defeated and didn’t want to start anything now.

April floored it after coming to a stop at an intersection, her eyes flicking back and forth between the car’s mirrors and the road. As they rounded the final corner and Chanel’s house came into view, April let out an internal sigh of relief. No more uncomfortable silence or conflict. “Don’t ruin tonight, I worked my ass off getting this party ready.” April spoke quietly to Julie, then let out a sigh. Her mood lightened a bit, realising she’d been a bit mean “If you wanna talk about this, we can talk tomorrow.” Looking back towards Chanel’s house, she put the car into neutral and revved it up again to get Chanel’s attention.

Julie motioned zipping her mouth shut “I’m done.”

"Done with what?" Chanel said breathlessly as she pulled open the back door, tossed her purse into the backseat, and clambered inside the car. Chanel had been right in the middle of putting a few final touches on her makeup and outfit when she heard April’s car pull in front of her house. Without even bothering to take the last couple of rollers out of her hair, the girl simply grabbed her purse, slipped on her sandals, and jogged down the driveway to meet them. The young woman could immediately feel the slight tension in the vehicle, and she already had an inkling of what her two friends were probably talking about before she’d arrived, which was why she decided to switch gears and try her best to lighten the mood. “Whatever, I just hope you two are ready to turn the fuck up,” Chanel said as she buckled her seat belt and began to pull the last few rollers from her hair, “I mean, come on. It’s our first party of Senior year. I bust out my good wig for this shit, and we all look mad good so you know we gotta show out.”

Instantly Julie felt better when her best friend had entered the car, she turned smiling brightly “Oh Coco! I heard that both Aaliyah and Elijah would be there I think we should make our move!” the red haired girl said with her face shining with her signature mischievous grin.

“Fantastic,” Chanel said, returning the grin as she pulled her cell phone from her back pocket, “Cause I’ve got so many ideas for Aaliyah already…”

“Dare I ask what you two are up to?” April asked, giving both of them a suspicious look before pulling out of Chanel’s driveway. Chanel simply flashed the girl a devious smile before rolling down the car window; she breathed in the fresh air and watched the scenery go by as April sped towards Santiago’s home.

“Oh, nothing… just the makeover of the century.”

“We’re adopting, you could say.” Julie let out a small laugh as she clutched the handle of her passenger seat door, April was going a bit to fast for Julie’s own liking. But this way they would be at the party faster and the awkwardness would stop. As they sped down the road you could hear the music grow louder and finally you could feel the vibrations in the ground.

April purposely floored the throttle as they turned into Santiago’s driveway, causing the tires to squeal and the back end to slide into the turn. With a devilish grin suited to their current location, she parked in what had essentially become her reserved parking spot. After they came to a spot, April exited the car and flashed a smile when she saw Santi watching over the kingdom they had created.

Julie turned to face April “Did you choose the uh… music?” she asked stepping out into the booming latin music echoing through the neighbourhood. Chanel exited the car last, nodding her head to the beat of the music as she smoothed out her outfit.

Turning to her friend, April shrugged a bit “All Santi. Not my personal favourite but it could be worse.” She flashed a small, but genuine smile towards Julie before turning to Chanel. She looked between the two of them before finally asking “Shall we go kill it?”

Hell yeah,” Chanel said with a grin, her heels clicking against the concrete as she walked alongside her friends. “Let’s do this.”

You take all my inhibitions

She had not gone to school the first week. Penny had been much to busy with an older gentleman doing cocaine in his penthouse apartment and fucking like rabbits. It had been a good week. But when she got the text for her gal Stella, she knew she had to make it to this party. It was with a heavy and drug-fueled heart that she kissed her lover goodbye and went back home.

Daddy Donny had been away on a business trip and so had not even known his daughter disappeared. The staff were so used to it that no one bothered letting him know. It was the early hours of the morn when she parked her car in the driveway, stumbled into her house and showered. Penny did a couple of shots and then passed out on her bed for a good ten hours. When she awoke the school day was well and done over with. Penny stretched and began the process of getting ready – a three-hour ordeal as she did hair, makeup, and tried on an innumerable amount of clothing.

Penny settled on a delightful white crocheted oncepiece with silver accessories adorning her fingers, wrists, ankles, and neck. The finishing touches were a wicker sun hat, cute floral and white wedges, and a wrap with a mandala design tied about her waist. Now satisfied that she looked immaculate she ordered her driver to take her to the first party of the year.

In the back seat, on the way there, she indulged in a little white lady to help her get into the party spirit. She breathed the powder in deeply and rubbed her nose as she sniffed it down. It burned a bit, but it was an intoxicating sensation. She wasn’t about to let lack of real sleep keep her from fully enjoying this in ALL capacities. Hideous music infiltrating her car caused her to scowl, but she soon perked up when the car stopped. “Don’t bother coming to pick me up, Gerald, I’ll be getting a ride on... I mean with someone else.” She winked at the man and closed the car door. Before it slammed shut she heard the man say – “My name is actually-“ but she didn’t care and so tuned it out.

With all the sway and sashay she could invitingly put into her hips she made her way into the party. It seemed to have been going on for quite a while now as there were teens passed out from having imbibed too much. Noobs. She stepped on one particularly mean fellow she did not like as she approached the alcohol table. He didn’t react in his passed out state.

There seemed to be a whole group of people just hanging about. She slid past them, her fingers brushing Sonny’s arm as she walked past. The fucking misfits. What sort of group named themselves? Had a name for their friendship? Were they like twelve? Penny did not spend much time on this as she began to mix herself up a potent Tequila Sunrise. Topping it off with some cherries, a cute little umbrella, and a bendy straw she swept past the group again (this time giving Kavan’s back the same treatment as Sonny’s arm) to lounge in a chair beside the pool. It seemed that some had decided the dip would be appropriate to start the night. She then spotted a familiar face.

“Stella! Oh Stella, my darling love! How have you been? And who is your very handsome friend?” She knew perfectly well who it was, but Penny was feeling a might playful now that the cocaine was working its way through her blood.

From his perfectly positioned seat, Santiago watched as the usual suspects from King’s Academy made their entrance into his lair. The first face he came across was Ariel Grey, whom he exchanged brief hellos with before the girl disappeared into the crowd. She seemed okay enough - though her not being his type meant the didn’t really know anything about her besides her name and face. Then his eyes fell on the new kid Henderson, whom he hadn’t really had much time around to form an opinion on. Then there was Kavi Salvador, a guy Santiago didn’t really like much. You would think that with them being Hispanic it would bring them together against the whities of Palms, but for some reason he wasn’t aware of, Kavi disliked him. Oh well. Not like he would lose sleep over the Jew-beater.

Up next were two nerds whose names he didn’t remember (Raven and Oliver), followed by the new basketball star straight outta New York. Then came Miss Angelica Rodriguez, who was sweet enough to compliment him on the great turnout the party was having so far. Santiago had meant to thank her (maybe even turn some gears into motion for any further interactions) but she was gone before he could say anything, and he was much too proud and lazy to go chasing after some skirt.

The list of unexpected surprises was headed by Mara Lubitsch, who Diablo was pleased to see had miraculously decided to get her nose out of her books and actually go out and have fun like a normal person. Following Mara were none other than the famous Misfits: a foursome Santiago was half-expecting to be in attendance. He knew that Archer and Jun were neutral when it came to him, but was also very much aware of the strong feelings of dislike that little Marisol and her unofficial boyfriend Sonny harbored for him. But one think Diablo knew for sure was that no matter how much they hated him, they could never resist a kick-ass party. He hoped they could put aside the ill feelings for the night and enjoy themselves.

After some wandering, his stray gray eyes fell on Stella Lambert making a dive into his pool worthy of an Olympic medal, and a smirk immediately came upon his features when he saw Lucas going after her, heading straight for the kill. The young man made a mental note to keep tabs on the developing situation -so he was a nosy motherfucker; sue him- before a familiar voice pulled him back to the present.

“Thank you for hosting,” he heard the girl say, handing him a bottle of green liquid before turning on her heel and starting to walk away.

“Hold up!” Diablo called out after her, and only continued to speak when the short girl turned around. He was internally surprised to see it was Beatrice Endive.“I have a few questions about your gift, actually. Mind taking a seat?” Diablo asked her while pointing at the available sitting space next to him, shooting her the million-dollar devilish smile that earned him the infamous reputation he bragged about so proudly.

Archer shook his head disapprovingly when Marisol introduced them to Jordan “Come on Mari, what have I said about calling us that? You make it sound like we’re some lame 80’s hair metal band” he said sighing and giving Jordan a slight wave of agnolishment before Jordan turned to check on Ariel. The guy earned a small eye roll when he started to dote over Ariel as if Kavi had punched her in her smug face. He had always had a hard time with the girl ever since he had overheard her calling him Marisol’s sidekick and that just rubbed him the wrong way. But he did have to admit to himself that watching his small friend almost combust with anger at being ignored gave him some sort of strange satisfaction.

Archer grinned and leaned in closer to whisper in Mari’s ear “Now remember to breathe, and keep in mind that not everything revolves around you” he tried making his voice as calming as he could before he gave her a peck on the cheek and pulled back.

He was just about to check his phone when heard just the voice he needed to hear. He whipped around to face Kavan smiling at him. “Oh thank the lord Jésus you are here!” He exclaimed returning his friends smile. He dropped his voice down to a whisper so just Kavan could hear him “And just in time to watch Marisol implode.” he jerked his head towards Jordan and the girls.

“So how was dinner? You sufficiently embarrassed your sister?” he asked as he opened up his second beer. Archer wasn’t much for hard liquor, but he was a fast beer drinker but he made a mental note to pace himself lest he get to drunk and he says something stupid. As he was waiting for an answer he felt something or rather someone rudely push her way through them. Turning around he saw a small figure in a straw hat screech something and settle down beside Stella Lambert, that girl really did have the strangest of friends.

As he turned back he spotted another familiar face leaning against a wall with a sour look on her face. Archer chuckled and pulled up his phone.

He turned back to Kavan putting his phone back in his pocket “Sorry, I got distracted! I hope I didn’t drag you away from your sister… was she mad?” Archer really enjoyed Kavan’s family since they were so very different from his own in every way.

L O C A T I O N / / Poolside
I N T E R A C T I N G W I T H / / Her Bestie (not Vic)

The slightest hesitation from Stella after the moment she let the words she spoke to Lucas to the point where she not only heard but saw the familiar face of one of her best friends - a bestie if you will - left the girl in a state of both shock and awe. When those strands of curly, dark brown hair that cascaded down a pale face with dark eyes engaged in a brief, yet overwhelming, stare, Stella’s exact response was a visible reaction that could only be described in one word: happiness

While she was usually self-contained within her own mind, often looping singular thought after singular thought, Penelope had a way about her that made Savanna’s absence and the lack of Victoire okay. Though, if Lucas was here, Vic was around somewhere. As to where that somewhere was, Stella didn’t know nor was it at the forefront of her immediate thoughts. Right now, she was entirely focused on Lucas and the sudden arrival of her usual partner-in-crime.

“Oh, I’ve been just grand! Actually, I’m pretty darn spiffy!!” She gave Penny quite the smile. “I’ve made a new friend this week. Wait, I told you about her. Victoire Bailey. Yeah, she and I started hanging out and stuff.” As she said that, Stella totally goofed on the second thing that Penny asked. “Oh. I think this is Lucas. I’m not sure about his last name, though. Starts with an A, I think.” She really did want to remember his last name. It was bothering her beyond anything has in recent memory. "How about you, Penny-Love?"

Resident Bitch Boy

Ain’t life swell from a pretty little distance?
I don’t want to leave, I don’t want to stay
Why look twice at a beautiful existence?

Why Raven would ever drag him here, he had no idea. It was true he loved drama. It was also true he hated parties. To many people, not enough coffee. The music was annoying, though there was a half decent song every now and then. Oliver would admit that he was a little hurt when Trip snuck off to be with her other friends, but at least it left him enough spare time to take pictures of everything with his phone. He had gotten a few good shots, and thought that Johnny might just even appreciate them. Being the outsider just walking around with his phone did earn him a few weird looks, like the one that he had gotten from Bea, but he didn't mind. He was used to people looking at him weird. Or like they were angry. Such was life.

One of the best shots that he had gotten was of the Queen Bee's (April, Julie, and Channel) making their entrance. They really all did look stunning tonight. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, even the class president herself. Oliver wasn't entirely sure why she had chosen to come though. Hell, he wasn't sure why he had chosen to come. Oh, yeah, right. The drama. Except there wasn't any drama. At least until Ariel Grey had her little outburst, causing Oli to raise his eyes in suspicion. He was quite sure that Kavi Salvador would have had something to say on the matter of her actions, but instead he chose to walk away. Right over to Nadia, that was. It sort of pissed Oliver off, really. Not the whole matter with Ariel - Oliver didn't know her well enough for that - but the fact that Kavi had chosen Nadia as his next bit of prey. Oliver had always considered Nadia one of the best people at Kings Academy, and hoped that she would have enough sense to not let Kavi into her pants.

Stella seemed to be enjoying herself in the pool, and Lucas going in right after her. They'd actually be kinda cute together, he thought silently while making his way over to the drink table. He got there just in time to see the end of the before mentioned outburst, and seen Jordan brush Marisol to the side. Heaven knows the 'Queen' wasn't going to be happy about that. "Ouch," he said mockingly as Jordan began to walk away. "How does it feel to be sidelined for the emo nerd?" He laughed quietly to himself, taking a small drink of his punch.

At Sonny's comment, Oliver simply raised his eyebrows in surprise. He knew that Kavi had a record, but not that he had never been turned down. "About time someone knocked that jackasses ego down a few notches."

As the girls entered the party the music enveloped them and soon enough the girls went their separate ways, Chanel disappeared into the crowd and April over to Santiago no doubt. And there she was in a sea of people she only superficially knew, she sighed and hoisted her bag up on her shoulder and pushed through the dancing crowd. Just spending a few seconds in the grinding sea of teenage hormones made Julie uncomfortable. What was it with drunk dudes and touching someones ass that they found so intriguing? Luckily Julie had wicked reflexes and reasonably long nails so there were a lot of scratch marks and hand slaps going on around her. “Ugh you wish Nathan Matthews!” she groaned as she pushed the slobbering drunk soccer player of her.

She finally got through to the crowd and ended up near the back entrance to the house. She looked around and most of the party was going on outside, it was a pool-party after all. But as stated Julie wasn’t really in the partying mood so she stepped in side. It was actually really nice to get out of the booming sound that was being blasted out of the speakers outside. Santiago’s house was really well isolated, then again god only knew what goes on in this house that the Fernandez family wanted to keep inside these walls. Julie looked around the big living room that she had just stepped into, it looked just as it had when she had been a frequent guest here, back when there still was a hint of friendship between them.

Walking around the hallways Julie spent some time looking at the pictures on the walls, they had a lot of photos of their darling sons. His brother Steven looked like an older version of the devil, she had never met him but he was probably just as big of a douchebag and she had no interest in finding out. She stopped in front of a particularly large and egregious picture of the brothers smiling with their arms around each others backs. She didn’t really know why she did it but before she knew it she had found a sharpie in her bag and was drawing directly on the picture. Some devil horns and a forked tail for Santiago and the tasteful mustache and hairstyle of a certain dictator for his brother. Was it childish? Yes! Was Julie proud? Hell yes! With a smile she admired her work and threw the sharpie back into her bag.

Continuing down the hallway she decided to go wash up after the sweaty trek through the dance crowd. She opened the first door she thought she remembered to be the bathroom. “Oh?” she exclaimed quietly, she had entered Santiago’s room, she was on her way to close the door when her curiosity got the best of her and she stepped inside closing the door after her.

Looking around not much had changed, mostly it was a regular teenage boy’s room but Julie knew that hidden around this room was a fortune's worth of product or candy as he liked to call it. For no particular reason she started to look in the drawers beside his bed. To no surprise the top drawer was filled with condoms and lube “Classy” Julie whispered as she closed it and opened the next one. In it she found something interesting a single picture of none other than April Foster, in an instant she had gotten the answer to her question she had asked in the car ride over. She had already known the answer when she asked the question but… it still hurt her, that her supposed friend would do this. She shut the drawer and walked out of the room and also the house, and headed towards the table that acted as a bar, she needed wine.

While at the table Julie spotted a group of people most of them being from the self-proclaimed misfits. Everyone seemed to have good time except for the queen herself, Marisol looked like she was having just as great of a time as Julie was having. She caught her eyes and gave her a reassuring smile as to show her that she wasn’t the only one there miserable. She focused back on the drinks she picked up a bottle of wine from the ice bucket in the middle of the table, she held the dripping bottle as she looked for a wine glass. All that was offered where red solo cups, with a huff she grabbed one and poured herself a cup of wine. She put the bottle back and looked up to find herself face to face with Jason Weaver, which she didn’t really know but didn’t have a problem with. All she knew was that he was one of Santiago’s boys and that he had a girlfriend which rumours said he was fiercely faithful to, which Julie really respected considering the aforementioned friend.

“Santiago couldn’t be bothered getting his own drinks?” Julie said taking a sip of her wine shooting a glance at the two shot glasses in his hands.

“Hold up!”

Bea stiffened when he called out to her. She had hoped she could get away without having to actually talk to the guy. Slowly, she turned back around with a look of pure terror on her face that would easily be mistaken for complete and utter boredom. “I have a few questions about your gift, actually. Mind taking a seat?” Sighing she crossed her arms over her chest and looked the boy up and down. She glanced at the seat beside him, looked back to where a group were gathering around Jordan, before she dropped her arms and walked over to the devil. At least it seemed that he was making friends quickly so she wouldn't have to worry about leaving him alone. "I was planning on getting a drink," she mumbled as she plopped down beside Diablo.

Her feet did not quite reach the ground so she pulled her legs up so they rested beside her. Bea folded her hands in her lap and shook her smoothed curls from her face. She tilted her chin upward so she could look him in the face and her lips were slightly turned down in a frown. "What questions could you have? It's just a bottle of liqour. You drink it." She spoke in a bland, tired way as if she were already done with this conversation and ready to go take a nap. "I would have thought you'da known that." Bea felt the buzz of her phone and opened up her fannypack, pulling out the old paint and sticker covered flip phone. She snapped it open and read the text from Mara. Silly girl. With a eery speed she tapped out her reply.

'Of course I'm alive goose. Get in here. I'm just finishing up a convo with Santiago.'

With that done she snapped the phone shut, stored it away and zipped up the pack. Her attention was now back on the latin boy and she remembered just how much she did not want to be sitting next to him. It was his party though and she couldn't be rude and not answer his questions. Honestly he should know more about this stuff anyway. What good would her laughably limited knowledge be?

With every minute that went by, Marisol’s growing suspicions that dropping her Rick and Morty marathon to attend this party was a bad idea strengthened.

First was Jordan basically dismissing their introduction by turning his attention to somebody else. Mari absolutely hated being ignored or anything similar to it. She was also not the friendliest of people, so for her to have even pushed aside her pride and arrogance to acknowledge him first was meant to be something huge. His apparent lack of interest was certainly a slap in the face of many to come.

Then it was Ariel, who’s mere presence always riled up the worst parts of her. The fact that she had the audacity to speak to her after so long had Sol torn between having a good old laugh or punching her in the face. It hadn’t always been that way, though. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Marisol and Ariel were actually best friends. Trusting people was never the green-eyed girl’s forte; so when she opened up to a person, the deadliest sin you could ever commit was to betray the trust that was given. And that had been exactly what the raven-haired girl had done… In a way.

Although she hadn’t leaked any of her secrets or anything of the sort, Ariel had done something worse by simply cutting Mari out of her life as if she’d never existed. No warnings, no explanations. Just a big, fat “fuck you, goodbye, I don’t give a shit about you”. And when the brunette had attempted to get an answer to her questions, Ariel had ignored and evaded her as best as she could. That was the day the feelings of the hurt and heartbroken Marisol went sour.

Then there was Sonny, who had the nerve of talking to Ariel as if everything was sunshine and rainbows. ‘We have you to thank, Ariel’? Who the hell was ‘we’? Because Mari sure as hell wasn’t thanking Little Miss Emo for anything. Like, did Sonny not remember what this person had done to her? Was he really that oblivious to things? Or was he just trying to rile her up even further? For a second there Sol thought her raised eyebrows would disappear to the top of her head with the disbelieving look she gave him.

Then there was that whore -Penny something or the other, Mari didn’t give a shit about her name-, who’d decided that touching Sonny as she walked past them was a clever idea. Frankly, it took all of Sol’s self-control to not jump her right then and there. She was well-aware of the girl’s reputation, and the last thing she wanted was for that vixen to sink her teeth into her Sonny.

And finally, there was Archer, whom Sol was grateful for at least trying to diffuse the situation. When he reminded her to breathe, she did just that: inhaling peace and exhaling love and all that shit. But then he said the world didn’t revolve around her, and that earned him a bewildered look. Since when did he think Mari thought she was the center of the world? I mean, looking back on it, she was the center of her father’s world, but that was as far as it went. She wasn’t that egotistical… Right? Let’s add that to the list of growing insecurities of the night.

To those who knew her, it was clear that the girl was at the verge of one of her meltdowns. Marisol had this tick that, whenever she felt angry or any type of similar sentiment, she would repeatedly pick and pinch at the hem or fabric of whatever article of clothing in her bottom side.... Which was exactly what she was doing at the moment.

“You know what? Excuse me. I’m going to go drown myself in the Atlantic Ocean before I commit bloody fucking murder up in this party,” Marisol stated in a cynical tone, giving the group a fake, sarcastic smile before stomping off in the opposite direction.

The girl had been too busy fuming to pay attention to where she was going, and suddenly found herself being forced to a stop by crashing into some tall, buff Hispanic dude she hadn’t seen before. She had her mouth half-open to tell this guy to fucking watch where he was going when she heard him drunkenly drawl:

“Watch it, girlie. Did you get lost from Chuck E. Cheese or something?”

That was all it took for Marisol to finally snap.

A kick to the nuts and a punch to the nose was all it took to have the asshole on his knees, one hand clutching his bloody nose while the other fell protectively. Having acted out of impulse, it was only after a couple of seconds that Mari realized exactly what she had done. Eyes wide with shock and disbelief, the girl stood there for a couple of seconds, breathing heavy as the rage and adrenaline that had her seeing red began to subside. All eyes in proximity were on her now, expressions ranging from amusement, questioning, disbelief or just plain confusion. Sol could feel the stares burning holes in her back, suddenly making it harder to breathe once more.

After what seemed like a lifetime, the paralysis that had kept Marisol glued to the ground seemed to have lifted. Without wasting any more time, the girl rushed off, not giving a damn about who was or wasn’t looking, and didn’t stop until she’d reached the pier on Diablo’s backyard. Only when she had reached the edge did she come to a halt, then pulled off her clothes until just her black bikini remained.Seemingly unbothered by her exposed body shivering with the cool breeze, Mari’s green eyes stared at the dark waves stretching in front of her for a few, long seconds before she dove head-first into the ocean.
