What if I told you a realm with all the fantasy creatures you've dreamed of exists?
What if I told you it was on our very planet but in a different dimension?

In a different dimension, on a planet called Avalia. The land did not split in the exact same as in the story you know of Pangea. It is a quite different looking world to our own. Magic flourishes in this land with the sun as its source. Their sun is very different than one in the Earthly dimension. Its pink color gives the sky a very light pink hue. Mushrooms the size of trees and trees that seem to touch the top of the sky cover the planet. Various colors beautify the forests and the lights of pixies illuminate the paths through them. Castles perched upon mountains and villages upon valleys exist as you may have imagined in fairytales. After all, those fairytale writers got their ideas from somewhere, right? If they had told everyone that, who would believe them?

There had been a time humans from Earth were very welcome in Avalia. Elves have the powerful ability to manipulate light magic, often opening up random rifts in the dimension that would suck in random humans from the other. Humans were allowed to explore and exchange knowledge from the dimensions while creatures from Avalia traveled to the other dimension to sneak peeks at Earth. Humans showed them castles, buildings, the English Language, food and anything available ranging from medieval times to the Victorian Era. Humans even brought over species of animals as gifts. However, these select humans that were allowed to dimension travel were sworn to secrecy with their lives on the line. If you had seen so many wondrous things, wouldn't you have been itching to tell someone? They were given permission to write what they had seen into stories, which others then took a liking to the themes and also incorporated into their stories. Thus, reality became a myth.

However, light elves weren't the only type of elves. A race of dark elves bred from the combination of use of powerful, dark magics and also darker thoughts. Avalians feared what these dark elves were capable of as well as their different views, and had them exiled after the Great War, which occurred about 1,200 years ago. Dark elves had been forced to live in the tundra of Daka Island since then. However, in their rage of losing the war, they assassinated all elder light elves capable of dimensional rift creation. Humans have not set foot in Avalia since that day. It was foretold by prophets that the dark elves will train and one day be able to conquer Avalia in the next war and take over new territories. Their vengeful spirit could mean slavery and misery for all of Avalia.

Because light magic and fairy magic cannot stand up enough to dark magic, a different type of magic was needed in order to avoid this. Unfortunately, humans were the only ones capable of wielding the forces of nature, magic strong enough to hold a chance against a dark elf. Their genetics in the realm of Avalia would react in such a way to make this possible. The light elves felt they had no choice but to learn to summon humans once again.

Learning to create rifts with light magic would take immense skill and experience; only the best of the best were capable.

Now, enough time has finally passed for a light elf to be old and powerful enough to create rifts once again. Powerful light elves that have lived in secrecy, training to open rifts have finally reached success at this point of time. The rifts will open and Avalia's heroes will arrive.

I'm sure you know how humans are like since you are one! (I hope.) When humans arrive at Avalia, their genetics and the energy mesh differently. They gain abilities from the elements around them in the world. I'd like if one element wasn't too crazily common. The manipulation includes being able to summon the element, use it as a weapon(ex: shoot fireballs), and the ability to withstand environments with it. Those who manipulate water can breathe within it while those who manipulate fire can withstand it without burning. Humans are extremely powerful in this world and widely feared/hated/sought out. In fact, they're forbidden. It is unsafe to be human.

Human Abilities

Pyrokinesis
🔥 User can summon and manipulate flames.
🔥 User can use the flames to burn or melt objects.
🔥 Flame can be channeled into attacks of fireballs or blasts.
🔥 If the user is on fire, the user can withstand it without getting burned and are immune to smoke created by fire.
🔥 Effective against all creatures except certain demons.

Geokinesis
🌏 User can summon and manipulate earth, including all minerals.
🌏 They can use geo-telekinesis to move rocks or minerals with their mind.
🌏 Users can repair objects of earthen material.
🌏 With time and skill, user can cause rock avalanches, earthquakes, mudslides or quicksand.
🌏 Users can have a hard layer of rock form over their skin as protection.

Hydrokinesis
💦 Users can summon and manipulate water in its liquid form at will.
💦 Users can manipulate water in atmosphere.
💦 Users cannot freeze water or turn it into a gas.
💦 Water can be manipulated into tidal waves.
💦 Water can be used to drown enemies but cannot drown themselves. It is very effective against fire.

Aerokinesis

Fairies

Playability: 5

Fairies reside in forest areas, flourishing most in nature. They are most often very friendly creatures and prefer to stay in civilizations. However, there are those who stray off from groups. They speak English most of the time. Appearance-wise, they look very close to humans. Their irises tend to differ slightly. Unusual hair and eye colors are very common. Their wings tend to be wispy and thin but also vary in look and color. Their ears sometimes can look similar to elf ears, pointed but most of the time much smaller than elf ears. Male fairies tend to grow horns from their head. They tend to be absolutely beautiful in appearance. They age well and live double the life of a human.

They dress in light-weight clothes, often incorporating leaves and flowers into their fashion as they absolutely adore nature. The women never wear pants or shorts as it is impolite in their culture. Women are always in some sort of skirt or dress. They never wear closed-toe shoes and always go toward sandal-type footwear. Fairies flourish in warm environments with the exception of winter fairies. Winter fairies are much rarer and an endangered species that live up in cold regions. They are able-bodied for their cold but still tend to dress in warmer gear. The women wear long dresses with warm socks underneath and boots in those groups.

They have the old-age belief that males are to be the fighters and women the caretakers. Women raise the young, tend to crops and practice their healing abilities on their own kind and often other creatures. Men tend to practice more offensive magic that utilizes the nature around them and train to protect their kind. It was very often that fairies were called into battle before Aklenroth's reign as they were excellent warriors despite their peaceful demeanor and culture.

Fairies are what keep forests alive. Their magic helps the flora and fauna grow and prosper. They are nature's caretakers. They can manipulate nature at will but it is something that must be learned from their younger years, being able to twist and control a vine at will if need be. They also are excellent at communicating with animals. They have the ability to heal wounds at will but cannot reverse death. The endangered breed of winter fairies can manipulate ice and snow around them whilst retaining their healing ability.

A new breed of a fairy called dark fairies may be arising. Aklenroth has created efforts to create more creatures with the ability to control dark magic as it is one of the most powerful magic there is. He has been trying to bring fairies into their darkest selves to create powerful fairies that could assist him. It is unknown if he has been successful to most but he has made a few who have been twisted mentally beyond repair.

Pixies are teeny-tiny fairies that look like fireflies. These are unplayable since they are too small to even communicate. However, they do exist and are commonplace in wooded areas.

Types:

Abilities:

One fairy is usually more skilled in one area than the other, depending on what they specialize in.

Forest Fairy Abilities

✿ Fairies may create at will and manipulate plants and vegetation.
✿ Enemies can be trapped within vines and vegetation by the user.
✿ Users can bloom flowers at will
✿ Fairies can manipulate tree branches at will
✿ Growth can be accelerated.

Healing
✧ Fairies can regenerate the cells over wounds, burns and reconnect broken bones for themselves or another.
✧ Some illnesses can be healed.
✧ Complex, terminal illness requires very skilled healers. This goes for very complex injuries and those with many critical injuries
✧ Death cannot be reversed
✧ Healing needs time to cool down as it is draining for the fairy. Overhealing can kill a fairy. The more skilled the healer, the less of a cool-down and the more healing a fairy can do.

Zoolingualism
🐺 Fairies can understand the speech of animals.
🐺 They are able to telepathically communicate with them, magically translating the animal's speech into English and vice versa for the animal.
🐺They cannot communicate out loud.
🐺 The animals do not actually know English.

Elves

Playability: 5

Elves are the pointy-eared archers that you imagine them to be. They excel in archery and in battle. They are nimble and tend to possess light magic. This allows them to create light orbs, shields, and create light at will. Only the most accomplished light-users can utilize invisibility. There are even rumors of elves that can foresee the future.

They tend to dress in clothes that are comfortable for battle and travel. They have civilizations but many feel happy to go off on their own or into battle. Those that stay in civilizations have a love for music, technology, and art. There are elves with many different skills including acting, inventing, and even engineering. There are no gender roles as there are in the fairies. Females are expected to learn to fight as much as males are. Elves are much more competitive and common in battle than fairies.

They tend to reside in forest areas as well. They do not create villages in cold areas but will explore there if properly dressed, as they are a very adventurous species. They also speak English well.

Dark elves are becoming more common. Elves with malevolent or darker personalities tend to have their negativity manifest in their energy and in their power. They are always outcasted due to how dangerous they are.

Elves reach full adulthood at 100 years of age.

Their weaknesses are pretty much the same as human weaknesses besides the fact they live for many, many years.
Light elves are weak to darkness and dark elves weak to light.

Demihumans

Demi-humans are half-human, half-animal creatures. Humans may recognize the animals their genetics are mixed with from Earth. They have heightened senses and qualities of the animal that they are mixed with two forms of demi-human full/half. Full demi-humans look like anthropomorphic animals. Half demi-humans have more human in them mostly ending up with animal ears, tails, and claws.

For example, a centaur is a human with a horse lower body.
A mermaid is also an example of a demi-human, with a human upper half and tail lower half.

There are cases of humans with large, bird-like wings that some refer to as angels as well as humans with cat-ears, cat-like pupils and senses. Half-dragon humans exist as well.

Besides mermaids that reside in water in warm climates, most live in large cities designated for demi-humans. Because of their range of different abilities they are excellent architects. They build huge cities usually in hilly-areas away from everyone since many species look down on demi-humans in disgust, seeing them as lesser beings. Half-human, half-animal creatures surprisingly are very civilized and human-like, speaking English and having a range of talented writers, artists and such, depending on the species. They have the best technology as well.

Some enjoy being in the forest or away from civilization but many live rather mundane lives. Those with more offensive characteristics like claws and strength may join the battle.

Abilities will vary with any hybrid you are, gaining whatever senses that animal tends to have. Whichever you pick, I will help you flesh it out if need be. They have no special weaknesses and retain the normal weaknesses as humans. Demi-humans also tend to have a special ability unique to that individual.

Demons

Playability: 4

Demons are creatures that are rumored on Earth to be from Hell itself. However, in reality, they're creatures that come in many shapes and sizes that stay near the inhabitable zone where they arrive from the Abyss. Some are more intelligent than others and even have created their own buildings and cities. Some may appear as monsters while others as horned-humanoid creatures with ranging abilities and powers. Well-known creatures such as Succubuses specialize in seduction. Due to this being a broad category, you may bring in a type of demon but it will have to be approved to make sure you are not overpowered.

They are often hateful towards other species and mischievous.

They are also not high in the population at all. Many demons respect a very powerful demon named Lilith as their mother.

Abilities:

☠ They can perform short-distance teleportation over one mile at most.
☠ They can induce curses sometimes.
☠ Many demons can read minds.
☠ Special demons can manipulate your dreams.
☠ Succubuses give off pheromones.

Abilities can vary greatly but will need to be approved. Some may be able to negate others' magic.

They are VERY vulnerable to any light magic and the sun. They thrive at night and in the shadows.

Lifespan : Immortal unless killed

Orcs

Playability: 4

These are large, malevolent creatures who rely on brute strength and possess an impressive amount of weaponry. They are super aggressive and often creatures they capture are used in battle. They have a crude and aggressive nature whilst retaining intelligence. They tend easier to outsmart outside of battle or to trick. They are so aggressive that they often fight each other and will try to eat other smaller beings. They can be found in Aldrakh and Dugmaghord.

Their best characteristics are their fighting skills, their strength, and their size. Their body is also pretty good for enduring quite a few hits.
Their weaknesses are their lack of speed and their disloyalty to even each other.

Orc Magic: Rite

The Rite of Dominance

They have abilities of strength beyond compare and combat skills few can rival. Yet what makes them special in the world?

The strength of them can be rivaled, the weapon skill they have is only as good as their body allows. In a world of magic and chaos, a strong body can be rivaled quickly with magic boosting and magic weapons. They have lives that can be long so mastering a weapon is no problem, yet to an elf, that is at most a quarter of their lives, so why are they a threat? They are a nuisance at best in the grand scale and probably should have been wiped from this world years ago by just the introduction of guns, flying ships, and war weapons.

So what if they do have a magic all their own?

A magical rite that can be done to give greater strength. This rite allows for Orcs to harness the powers that they first kill after the rite is complete. This includes all creatures, insects, animals, monsters, and even people.

They gain the power of the thing they kill, but this is also a very hard thing for Orcs to do. To not kill that fly that is bothering you, to not kill an animal while you are hungry while on the hunt for more worthy prey. This is an extreme difficulty for most Orcs, to temper yourself to such a degree, to not lose sight of your goals. There are few Orcs who have reached such power, but they are terrifying.

The most known powers gained is that from:

Flies- Slowed vision in combat.

Beetles- Increased Durability.

Mosquitoes- The ability to consume the blood of other races to heal. Requires immense amounts of blood to heal wounds, and recreating body parts requires months and extremely large quantities of blood.

Boars- Increased Strength and Durability.

Bears- Greatly Increased physical strength and durability as their skin becomes extremely tough and hard to hurt and cut.

These powers move up in strength as creatures become tougher.

As the Orcs are even able to gain the powers of magic from creatures, one thing is for certain though, it is always weaker, and if it is unrelated to combat and fighting, either they do not get it or it will become something very combative, like the control of plants might either become extremely aggressive plant growth that can kill someone with vines that are thronged with thorns filled with poison, or it'll just allow them to grow plants and launch them like large projectiles.

In any case, this rite is always some form of combative nature, even if it is a non-combative thing you gained from a creature, it will be changed to a much more aggressive form of it. Like the ability to talk to animals might be changed to being able to control animals, which is where their beastmaster comes from.

Their powers are unique as it can be many things, yet many Orcs are too simple and rash to ever reach some of the higher tiers of power because of their nature. Either they kill something for quick power, they don't think about what can be killed and gained, and some just killed insects that were annoying them and now have to live with being known as "Fly Squisher", a loving term used to mark anyone who has killed anything smaller than a boar.

The Rite can be done at any point in an Orc's life, but it can only ever be done once, any more times it will kill the Orc.

For an Orc to kill an Orc during their rite, either the power they possessed beforehand would then be passed on, more powerful than before. Or they gain the knowledge, memories, and experience of the Orc they kill.

The Shaman are not the only ones to administer the rite, they also use it to pass down their knowledge. As many near older ages, they are known to find one like them and deem them the next Shaman. As when the rite is commenced, the Fledgling will kill the Shaman and gain all of his knowledge. This can sometimes warp, change, or alter their personality as they take in the knowledge, experience, and wisdom of a long line of Orcs before them.

Orc Hierarchy

Grand Chieftain - Highest of the Orc ranks.

Chieftains - This position is held by the head of an orc clan. There are four major orc clans in Avalia. These are not the wisest, not the oldest, but the most powerful orcs in the clan. Orcs become chiefs by killing or defeating the previous chief in combat This is position is contended from time to time, but not taken so easily.

Priest/Shaman - This title usually goes to orcs that have outlived their peers and missed the opportunity for a glorious death. They use their wisdom to advise chieftains in strategy. These orcs ensure traditions maintain and may sometimes offer spiritual council.

Captain - This rank was not created by orcs, but adopted from the dark elves to create structure organization to Orc Raiders. Captains have authority over raiders and often give their Raiders some form of identification, whether it be a tattoo, scar, or even by the use of a title.
Raider - The majority of orcs. Most call them warriors, but a true orc will tell you all orcs are warriors. These orcs are often found moving in groups of up to a dozen. Either enough for a successful raid or as many that happen to be eager to assert their dominance. Orc society calls young orc raiders Grunts or Pups.

Raider - These are the lowest of the orc ranks.

Outcast - Very often there are orcs who leave their clan, either by banishment or by choice of their own. There are many reasons why an orc may become an outcast, just as there are many reasons why one may rarely see one. Usually alone, but can be found in the company of as many as five orc outcasts.

Dwarves

Dwarves

Playability: 5

Dwarves are a short, stout race that tends to dwell within the mountains. They are often skilled warriors, miners, and workers of stone and metal. Broad and hardy creatures, while they stand under 5 feet tall, they tend to weigh the same as an elf, if not more. They have a wide variety of skin colors, ranging from deep brown to very pale. They often wear their hair long in simple styles and both men and women have the ability to grow magnificent beards. Hair color ranges from black, grey, brown, and reds.

They can easily live over 400 years old, though they average out to only living 350 years due to the harsher conditions they live under. While they are long-lived, they seem to have an even longer memory. They tend to be able to remember their past in clear detail, this brings forth other challenges. Remembering small details of the past makes it a lot easier for them to hold onto grudges. A proud race, they tend to dislike any that are taller than them as they often feel like they are looking down on them. Dwarves hold on tightly to their traditions and don’t break away from them easily. These traditions include upholding dwarven ideals of industrious labor, skill in battle, and devotion to forging fine weapons and inventions,

A very crafty people, they are often more advanced in technologies than the other races. They value the beauty and artistry of precious metals and fine jewelry and are well known throughout Avalia for their fine craftsmanship. One of their well-known inventions is the Amora, a flying machine that many people use to get around Avalia. Another invention of theirs is the blunderbuss and the flintlock pistol, however, acquiring one of these weapons from them may take a lot of convincing. Anything has a price, though, and Dwarves love their money.

Charming, cunning, eccentric, these are all words used to describe Lizzie. She can be rather skilled in making conversation, even if she’s often using it merely as a distraction. She’s often a very selfish person, doing what she can to save her own skin, but if she’s grown close to the person then there’s a chance she may try to save you too. She has a bit of ruthlessness to her, but she isn’t outright mean. If she’s bonded with someone then she’s more likely to be kind and caring.

She’s rather hot-headed, which can get her into trouble at times, but you really need to worry when she’s become quiet and calm. When this happens is when you know she is thinking of all the glorious ways she could slowly kill you. If a fight doesn’t seem to be going in her favor then she has no qualms about running. She’d much rather live to see another day. Lizzie trusts and loves very few people, but she is fiercely loyal to those she does, turning frighteningly vindictive when they are hurt or killed.

History:

Born in Ireland on August 25th, 1697 as the bastard daughter to a rather prosperous lawyer, Lizzie grew up favored by her father, yet despised by his wife. The scandal made business hard for her father until he finally decided to leave his wife, take his daughter and mistress, and move to Jamaica to start over. While Lizzie got practically anything she wanted growing up, she didn’t get much attention from her parents and was raised by maids. Living in Jamaica she got to see all types of people, but she was enthralled by the ships. She romanticized pirates in her mind and, when she was 16, decided she wished to become involved with them. She married a man whom she didn’t actually love, but her father insisted, and they moved to Nasau. This is when she had her first encounter with actual pirates.

She met a man, the captain of a pirate ship, and fell deeply in love with him. Deciding that she didn’t love her husband and he didn’t love her, she soon ran off with her pirate lover. This was, however, the 18th century and men made knives while women made wives. So she decided to disguise herself as a man in order to garner more respect. It didn’t last very long, however, and so she finally decided to embrace being a woman pirate. If anyone had a problem with it she would either kill or seriously injure.

Eventually the attention of the captain faded as he grew bored of her and Lizzie soon found love with another female pirate. They stayed on the ship together and Lizzie remained first mate, but then disaster struck. They had successfully raided a merchant ship and in celebration everyone began drinking. Both Lizzie and her lover, however, kept their drinking light as they just had a gut feeling that something was wrong. They were right as the British navy descended upon them. The men were far too drunk and Lizzie fought hard for her ocean throne, but she lost it nonetheless. All of the crew were captured, thrown in prison, and they were sentenced to death by hanging. The trial took a long time and unfortunately her lover, Maria, died in prison. A week before she was to hang, a portal opened up in her cell and she was sucked into Avalia, saved from one fate and thrown into another.

Ismael is an ambivert, neither leaning one way or another. He is able to modify his mannerisms to best fit a situation, but if asked what is his default he would be introverted. By himself, he doesn't go out of his way to find excitement with people, but he does go and do as he pleases without much worry and anxiety of people. He is a pretty selfless person, he does the bare minimum for himself and has done plenty for others. Ismael is more kind than mean, yet he is not afraid to get mean with someone if it is needed, and he won't be upset or regret it either. Ismael is very selfless in the end, he has on multiple occasions thrown his life to the wind in protecting and saving others.

Ismael is a very calm and relaxed person, who doesn't lose his composure. He has quite a bit of patience with most people, There are just a few people he just doesn't give the light of day to. Ismael is braver than most, as it takes quite a bit of bravery to put your life on the line for another. Ismael does get nervous and anxious at times, but from experience in combat and training, it never stops him when fighting. He does however have it hold him up in many social situations as he can sometimes overthink or get caught up on something that stops him in his tracks.

Ismael isn't a smart man, he knows more basics of his time than anything, but what he lacks in conventional intelligence, he makes up with wisdom and life experiences. His charismatic nature is the thing that really makes him special, his nature to attract people had been even noted from a young age as he attracted the children to him with ease. And so too did this happen in his military career and PMC career as well, he always had a natural aura that attracted people. Sometimes for good or bad. Ismael has never lost his sense of humor, just it's changed a little. And overall, he is a very relaxed man, his energy level very rarely wavers, the only time it does is during high stimulant moments like fighting.

General Biography:

Ismael was born into a hard life, his father left his mother before Ismael was even born, and his mother died due to complications. Leaving him alone, no other family took him in so he was passed off to an orphanage to be raised. There he was raised to the age of 7, when finally he was adopted. He was not adopted until then as Ismael wished to stay and take care of the kids around him, as he saw himself as that of a Brother figure, yet a pair of parents wanted him because of that very nature.

After his adoption, Ismael lived a normal life, a Loving mother and Father in a middle-class family. He went to school, played sports, and did normal things. He did well enough in school, he wasn't the smartest person, be had knowledge and wisdom to learn. Yet the thing that followed him was a smile and laughter that people found. His jokes were goofy, and his demeanor was that of a kind giant. As these years were normal and simple, as when he became old enough he enlisted into the Marine Corps as a Small Arms repairman. He had a wish to serve his country, he always seemed to look at it as an honor

During his time in the Military, Ismael had made many friends, he took care of people around him as a brother, and quite often he sent money back to the Orphanage that raised him, as a way of thanks to them. During his time, his work was simple, fixing guns and making sure vehicle weapons were in order. Yet things changed when wars kicked up, when he went to reenlist, most Marines were switched over to Rifleman as they were expecting a real fight. And soon, Ismael was thrust into battles, where he showed great skill as a soldier and as a squad leader. He had thrown his life into the line of fire to save fellow Marines, Civilians, and anyone in between. Just one of these days, God decided to call his number as a grenade fell out and landed next to Ismael. As within the moment of seeing it, he threw himself on it, throwing his bag and back onto it and saying his goodbyes.

Ismael woke up a month later from a coma, as he found he survived the explosion. The grenade had left him badly scarred on his back. Large shrapnel scars covered his back and the sides of his body. The doctors called it a miracle that he survived, if it was a normal person, they would have been dead. Ismael was released a few months later after rehabilitation and therapy. He found his world slightly changed, he had missed a few friends passing, his honorable discharge was handed down, yet the war he was in is still raging. But something strange happened, an old war buddy called him up, asking if he wanted to join a company he was now running.

Ismael joined the Hershall & Co. logistic incorporated. Here he met some old buddies from before his Reenlistment, they all joined this company under a strange woman. She was a shrewd woman and she dealt in all forms of War, yet her most lucrative business is She is a Weapons Dealer. She sells anything from low-cost Firearms, all the way to stationary artillery weapons. If war is what you want, the Crimson Sun company can provide you with weapons to fight it.

Ismael spent the next years in this company, getting closer to the many people within, as they all follow this near insatiable goal the leader of this Company has. Not many knew what she wanted, money? Power? No one knew, but everyone rallied with her as she had this strange charisma that was too hard to move away from. Ismael spent multiple years in this company, not knowing what much to do otherwise, he realized, it was nice here. It was simple and he had many freedoms. They travelled a lot, they did as they pleased, and Ismael was given more money than he knew what to do with. So, he sent it back to his family and the Orphanage, he did keep a bit to himself in a bank account.

He wasn't just a bodyguard to this woman though. He was also a weapon she used quite often, everyone was used in the same way. They didn't only protect her, they did what she wanted them to do, so if she wanted someone dead, they would do it. But this didn't come from her being their employer, this came from their loyalty to her. Everyone here was family, they would bleed, sweat, and die for each other. Ismael had shown this on multiple occasions as he had taken many bullets for those around him, he had gotten into fights for them, and he has killed for them.

His life was okay, and he was more than willing to live his life this, until one night while he was about to go to bed, a portal opened up and sucked him and his bed into the portal. As he came through he realized he appeared in some strange place. He hopped to the pillows where he kept his bed gun, yet he found it was gone as he thought back and remembered that he placed it on his dresser. Now he found himself in a strange new place without anything other than his Dog tags, his fists, and his underwear.

Éliane is most described as talkative, active, curious, and having a wild imagination. She has a knack for romance and enjoys letting her mind spin tales so reality feels less dull to her. Albeit having a temper if treated unkindly for too long or treated too harshly, she usually tends to be a very forgiving, loving person. Sadly, she has not been so fortunate in receiving love and affection herself. Her one true longing for passionate and mind-blinding romance has yet to occur - like a lonely princess in a storybook, she seeks adventure, experiences, and that one specific feeling. Some may call her naive - and they would be correct in it - but her romantic notion has kept her warm on many cold nights. Figuretartivly and literally.

Éliane is seldom shy and tends to strike a conversation. However, if criticized or met with harsh words, she may retreat into herself and her imagination, to keep out of harm's way. As kind as she tries to be towards others, her heart is easily scarred. Éliane firmly believes that people are inherently good and she attempts to offer help and advice where she can. She doesn't need many materialistic things to be happy and would gladly give her last penny to someone she thought would need it more gravely than she. This, however, is not to say Éliane may never say a bad word or never wander off her moral path. If her insecurities are targeted, she may easily turn to some vile words, and she is not shy of protecting others with all she has if she can help it. In fury, Éliane has the capability of becoming a beast. This happens rather rarely, though. In many ways, Éliane romanticizes the notion of saving someone despite the danger towards her own life. In reality, she has quite a strong sense of survival and if met with deathly danger it takes more than a kind stranger for her to jump into the blade.

Always on her feet and always ready for an adventure, Éliane has trouble standing still. She couldn't be described as the most hyper person - as an elf, she values the quiet of nature, has learned to move without noise, and how to blend into trees - but it is undeniable that (if she doesn't actively try to stay still and quiet) she has a lively nature. Whether you want to call it bravery or naivety, she takes on challenges if faced with them. Oftentimes she does so even though she is scared, which might make her even braver or just stupid. In most situations, Éliane fails to feel a sense of doubt or anxiety. This though can easily change with the right amount of criticism or the wrong look upside-down, as deep within she fears she might never be 'good enough' or skilled enough for any particular work, occupation, or other things of the sort. Éliane is usually very reactive, but her daydreaming might interfere with this.

Always reading, writing, and spinning tales - Éliane can be said to be quite smart. Always ready to take on another project, learn another skill, she is very adaptive. But she rarely finishes something. Due to her being intelligent, it is even more frustrating to some people how naive and careless the lady can be. Where her fantasy is rich and her adaptation a great advantage, Éliane doesn't quite understand politics or finances. So she might be good for a last-minute, crazy adjustment of the plan which might prove helpful in a crisis - but she is unlikely to pre-plan a long-term financial plan, political scheme, or relationship dynamics. Éliane would describe herself as charismatic and interesting. Other people have described her as impulsive, tormenting and unbearable. She likes stories, jokes, and laughs, so if there is someone trying to amuse people, she usually enjoys it. However, the line is drawn when people or groups of people become the butt of the joke.

History

Having been an orphan for as long as she can remember, Éliane grew up without belonging to a family. Instead, the high-energy child was taken care of by the elven people of her village. She had a room and a bed, but never that one family other children did. As she was such an adventurous and romantic young girl, she managed to get into trouble on the regular. Venturing too far out, bringing in wounded animals, never sitting still, spinning tales, always blabbering at everyone who appeared to have ears - and even that one Elf who didn't have any anymore - she was very well known in town. Everyone who crossed that town during her being there, would know her.

Being curious and seeking to try everything at least once, no matter what it may be, Èliane managed to plead everyone into showing her something new, teaching her something new. This led to her acquiring a bunch of skills that can be best described as "half-baked" since she never stayed in one spot long enough to learn the entire ropes of it. The only occasions where this was untrue were two things: her magic and her sword training.

Having begged for months on end, when someone talented and experienced in the form of sword fighting finally agreed to let her have a go at it, she was determined to see it through. And so she did; and in consequence learned to hold and guide a sword, her second weapon next to her bow and arrows - the preferred weapons of the elves.

Once the young girl had come to age and was finally free to decide her fate on her own, she was fast to leave the grounds she grew up on. With romance and adventure in her heart, she made her way out into the world -- and got knocked back hard.

As much as Éliane dreamt of traveling the world, it came harder than she had imagined. However, her stubborn heart adapted, learned, and overcame the challenges life threw at her. And so she began her search for something she knew she had been longing for all her life: true love and the belonging to somewhere, or to someone.

So far she traveled to most places, never stayed longer than a few days, and still... she has yet to find that resting calm and safe sensation of belonging she seems to have been missing all her life.

Myra has, most of the times a very calm demeanor. Only showing hostility or being aggressive in specific situations where she feels threatened or in danger. While she does get nervous when in places with too many people and too many different smells, it doesn't trigger a hostile reaction from her. Due to her instincts playing a big part on how she decides things, Myra often avoids confrontations where she can get gravely wounded, since for someone who lives in the wild, being wounded means being vulnerable. That said, if she perceives she can take down the target without major risks to her life, she will fight back. Her reaction speed, mainly due to her physiology and how quickly she moves, is extremely fast, which can be both a good or a bad thing depending on the situation.

Despite being quite literally a blank slate regarding memories, not knowing even how to talk, it is clear by both her actions and decisions that Myra is an intelligent demon, being able to solve problems and quickly learn things when observing someone or something (remember, since she lacks common sense, she might learn some... strange things and unless someone corrects her, she won't hesitate in showing others what she learned with a proud and confident smile). Due both to her physiology and her curiosity, Myra can be quite hyperactive, being a handful to take care of, especially if she is somewhere new and curious to explore.

She also shows unusual skills and techniques when fighting and hunting, being particularly adept at killing not like a wild animal, but quickly and efficiently. Skills that are undeniably not something a wild animal would know.

Due to both being a demon and believed to be dead, she lived alone in the forests until now.

History:

To most people who see Myra, she would be only a strange, wild demon from origins unknown. Only a few know who she was on her past life and what happened to her... Before she was betrayed by the very same person she served, Myra reported directly to Basilian as both a spy and sometimes... silently eliminating those whom he deemed necessary. As it was expected both due to her abilities and her job, nothing really was a secret for her... At least not for too long once she was ordered to or took a particular interest to it... Despite her swearing allegiance to Basilian, it was simply unavoidable for her to discover secrets belonging not only to enemies, but to allies as well due to the very nature of what she did. While Myra knew that holding other's secrets in one's hands can be an incredibly dangerous thing, if they didn't realize that she knew about their secrets or even who she was, she should be safe if she simply stood quiet, right? Unfortunately for her, there was one sole person whom she simply couldn't hide anything from no matter how much she tried... Amarantha, Basilian's sister...

Using Myra as his eyes and ears both inside his territory and outside, Basilian used the knowledge Myra attained both for the war and root out possible traitors inside his own army and territory. While she was relatively safe from retaliation from said traitors, due to her very position in Basilian's army and existence being know only by a few, she wasn't safe from Amarantha. While it was relatively doable to keep on Basilian's good side, as long as she brought him results, Amarantha was different. Her powers were both unknown for Myra regarding their full extent and definitely dangerous. Due to that, she always swore allegiance to Basilian, but keeping an eye on Amarantha, fearing for her life. Still, her allegiance wasn't enough for Amarantha. When she found out that Myra knew secrets she shouldn't know about Basilian, she immediately told Basilian, somehow getting him against Myra. It was undeniable that she had helped them a lot on the war, but Basilian wasn't the type of man who would leave loose ends nor forgive someone who could potentially become a traitor. Once he deemed she wasn't necessary anymore... he had only one thing left to do... It was simply too dangerous for her to stay alive, knowing as much as she did. After being tortured and dealt with both by Basilian and by Amarantha's magic, her broken and apparently lifeless body was thrown into the uninhabitable zone to die.

Unknown to Basilian or Amarantha though, Myra somehow was able to survive his attack and due to his underling's negligence in properly disposing of her, she was able to recover herself from the wounds after a long time. Despite her body being able to recover itself, her mind wasn't. Having completely lost her memory, Myra's mind was reduced to a blank slate. Not knowing even how to talk, she became a 'wild' demon, surviving in the forests like an animal would, resorting only to her instincts and the few things that were still preserved in her mind, mostly as muscle memory and reflexes than memories that she really understood, after Basilian and Amarantha's attack. Things such as her skills and training as a spy and assassin, her name & etc were still preserved in her memory.

Subspecies:

Myra is believed to be either an unique type of demon (maybe an evolution from some species of feral demons) or a hybrid from other subspecies due to the fact that she does not resemble any other type of demon species. With her most striking and defining features being her long tail (more than twice the size of her own body) and her completely white skin, the difference between her and other types of demon is clear with a single glance.

Even though sharp teeth aren't really rare among demons, Myra possesses a double row of slightly curved and extremely sharp teeth, seemingly designed for hunting and killing. Coupled with sharp, retractable claws, these features make it clear that whatever subspecies Myra belongs, is exclusively carnivore.

Best Abilities:

Due to her unique physiology, Myra is able to move herself in an extremely agile and fast manner. By using her long tail as both a prehensile tail (being even to sustain her own body weight on top of it) and to balance herself, she is able to perform unusually sharp turns and move herself in an unpredictable manner. Using mostly her retractable claws (both the smaller ones in her hands and the bigger ones in her feet) and especially her dangerous teeth (her biting strength is enough to break bones and tear flesh) as weapons, she also utilizes her long tongue in combination with her nose to form an enhanced sense of smell, similar of a snake's, being able to track down her prey by smell.

Other than those, one of the most unique skills she has is having something akin to an 'active camouflage', being able to become virtually invisible when moving either in a normal speed or slowly. When running on high speeds though, this active camouflage is less efficient, making it possible to see a light distortion if one pays enough attention and can follow her with their eyes.

Trivia:
While most never got close enough both physically and emotionally to Myra to know that, she has a surprisingly long tongue and a soft patch of fur behind her neck on the summer, which grows fluffier, forming almost a scarf around her neck in the winter (her hair also seems to grow longer on winter to help keep herself warm). While most of the times hidden by her hair (unless it's winter), this patch of fur has been observed to react to her humor, bristling if she feels threatened, cornered, angry or afraid.

History:
Aiko was left to an orphanage in Roshmi. The orphanage, mistaking Aiko for beastkin, brought them in, but soon realized just what had passed through their door when they began appearing in the dreams of those around them. Out of fear, the orphanage kept them hidden away. It wasn't until they were a teenager that they broke out and ran away.

They ran into their mother, who taught them what they were. The reunion was not a happy one, and was short-lived. It certainly answered why their body had started changing in other ways, even their mother had been surprised.

Disliking the dreams of demons, having been brought to try and live among them, Aiko instead opted to blend in with lighter society. That went well enough, Aiko finding plenty of folks in need of better dreams and more restful sleep. There was plenty of work to be had, drifting from place to place was easy.

It takes a long time to earn Jomari's trust. Years of using his charms and wits to seduce evil men had taught him that there is always evil even within saints. While he may act friendly and do helpful tasks for the group, he will quickly bolt out of the situation if he thinks his life is in danger, regardless if the others are as well. Quick-witted, he's not afraid to speak his mind and he doesn't care if others are hurt because of what he said. His whole vibe might change if he sees a potential asset for him to leech off of or probably someone who can give him a good time. Nevertheless, he has a soft spot for people fighting for the greater good. If he would trust someone enough that he'll lower his walls for them, Mari is a loyal friend to the end and will do everything it takes to help them out. Paying him a hefty reward doesn't hurt either.

As someone who is tasked to gather intel, Mari is the type to thoroughly review his missions. He would observe his targets or 'assets' as he would like to call, know everything about what they like, and try to incorporate that into his persona that he made for the mission. He keeps a level head all throughout. In case the mission goes awry, Mari always has contingency plans upon contingency plans. He has been taught to adapt to every situation still but he never had to fight someone in his years of being a spy, though he is used to drugging his targets to sleep when needed so he could steal their riches and important documents.

Mari is an individual who doesn't stop until he gets what he wants. He's used to putting on so many faces in his missions that he has a bit of an identity crisis but it's not something that he spends all night thinking about. He's definitely a charming individual and he's not afraid to use it to his advantage. Most people would probably think of him as a calm, collected, conniving snake and Mari would say they aren't lying. Mari isn't the sharpest arrow in the quiver but he likes to believe his brain isn't as smooth as a smooth stone at least. Still, he never actually had genuine friends as he's used to living in a timeline full of tense hardships and wars. Avalia doesn't seem to be the exception for it, but perhaps it is here that Mari will find a new home.

History:

Jomari hailed from a Southeaat Asian country during the Spanish colonial era. Simply put, he was born in the midst of a centuries-old war. His home country was already under the rule of the invaders for hundreds of years but his fellow countrymen didn't stop fighting them ever since. His parents were members of the resistance, his father a soldier and his mother a nurse, and his father died in the middle of a battle while his mother died giving birth to him.

As a boy, Mari was expected to become a soldier to help the resistance but his caretakers have always noticed something 'different' about him growing up. He wasn't physically strong as his male peers and they claim he's too pretty for a man. What they thought were weaknesses turned out to be Mari's greatest assets. He had learned to use his beguiling charms to attract soldiers and soon even high-ranking generals of the Spanish local government and military camps, getting valuable information about the locations of their treasuries, strongholds, and more that helped gave the resistance an edge against them. Of course, he would indulge himself in their riches, using what he stole to help the resistance and beautify himself to make him more irresistible for the enemy. He's famous in the ranks of the resistance for influencing his assets to make bad decisions and ruin their reputation as Mari's way of crippling down their forces to help take them down easier.

One night, Mari was caught by his current asset's, a Spanish mayor of a colonized town, wife. As he escaped, he took off with all of the wife's precious jewels along with documents stating the valuable trade secrets of the enemies. He took off as fast as he could, losing some of the jewels and destroying the documents in the process. As he thought he was about to get caught by the invaders, a large portal of light suddenly emerged a few feet in front of him. Desperate to escape, Mari had no choice but to jump straight into it.

Orenn, being ever the recluse, tends to keep to himself as much as possible. He prefers the crackling of his forge flames to the hustle and bustle of city streets. The sound of hammer hitting an anvil is his lullaby, the warm steam of tempering metal a mother's caress. When he has to interact with others, for example when he is restocking for his workshop, he keeps it as profession and concise as possible. He isn't necessarily selfish, but he isn't above asking for a fair price for his services. While some might take his behavior as mean-spirited, he really isn't trying to be. He is generally in good spirits, he simply likes to keep to himself. While he isn't completely self-serving, he typically won't be the first to jump into the fray to save a friend or companion. That is not to say he outright won't, his self-preservation instincts often wins out over more noble intentions.

Continuing with previously described traits, Orenn might be seen as ill-tempered. In reality, he is more often jovial. He doesn't often show it, but he does, he can be quite welcoming. He isn't one to guffaw and be boisterous, and the most he might offer is a small smile or a smirk. If someone is meeting Orenn for the first time, their first impression would most likely be distant and standoffish. As with most Dwarven Folk, Orenn is patient. He understands that it takes thousands of years for a good piece of ore to be formed and it could be decades before it can be refined into a marvelous craft. While Orenn does not considered himself cowardly, he will not act on bravado alone. He likes to see the situation unfold before deciding on a defined course of action. Nervousness is not something Orenn experiences often. Given that he likes to wait before acting, he is confident his choices.

Orenn is not the most intelligent dwarf. His intelligence should be considered as above-average when compared to other Dwarven Folk. Charisma, ha. Most folks will not find Orenn charismatic, given his reclusive nature. He is friendly, and would like to have friends, but its simply harder for him to do so since he tends to keep to himself. As far as Orenn remembers, he has been near a forge. His house, the lineage of a long-forgotten king, has faded. The only thing that remains a reminder is his last name. Ironfist, a name that used to be synonymous with magnificent crafts and unrivaled luxury. Now, Orenn lives in a shack, with nothing but simple tools and a forge flame that always seems to be dying. While demand is still high for well-made things, the proliferation of magic and other human technology made traditional metalworking often obsolete.

Orenn, with the fading of his once resplendent house, faded into the background as well. Whispers of strange curses and vexes started to swirl around him. How can one such house as Ironfist fade so quickly? Why was a son of the old king born with steely grey skin, rather than the fair skin that the old king was once known for? Orenn endured and withdrew himself from the public. He stuck to the old ways, sourcing metal ores from the mountains and transforming them into trinkets and tools still used today. His mind is always working, however. Fantastical ideas of powerful weapons, armor worthy of legend and other such crafts is never far from reach...

Orenn currently lives on the outskirts of Ironhold, on the western edge of Aldrakh. His shack is nothing to write home about. Patchwork roof, windows that never seem to close completely, and a small sense of destitute. He has things he needs to live, but quite literally nothing more. Kuroi is a rather sociable, albeit ambiverted, individual. As much as he enjoys socializing with his peers and anyone who wishes to give him the time of day (or night), he enjoys his time alone almost just as much. He can be considered a kind-hearted fellow who's selfless in certain circumstances (especially in physical confrontations) but he will always evaluate the situation first. Although his intentions are just, he will always evaluate situations from a logical perspective and attempt to foresee the outcomes. If selflessness will end up causing more harm than good, then he will refrain from it and keep to himself (or at the very least find a way to help someone indirectly).

To elaborate on his aforementioned reaction to physical situations, it is clear that although Kuroi is a brave individual, he is not stupid. His fear of death and risk is likely a lot less than many others around him due to how battle-hardened he has become as both a martial artist and as a duelist. As a result of his physical and mental training, Kuroi has learned to restrain his animalism and anger in situations where they would most harm him. If the time comes to act in a physical (or even mental) situation, he is as quick and as sharp as need be. He knows as well as anyone else that a calm, clear mind is key in most (if not all) situations. He is rarely an anxious or fearful person, but one must not mistake that Kuroi is still a fledgling - he is young and has yet to make many mistakes. This vulpine is not without his emotional outbursts nor moments of irrationality.

Kuroi Usagi is a Vulpine born to two Vulpine parents in Roshmi City - a blacksmith/former champion duelist and a martial arts and combative instructor. Originally intended to be his father's successor in the family's blacksmithing business, Kuroi showed potential in other skills. As a result of his parents' backgrounds, the young fox was taught how to defend himself at a young age. By age ten, Kuroi had shown a great passion for martial arts, appreciating the beauty in its performance aspects as well as its efficent, brutal aspects for what it was originally intended. Upon entering his teens, Kuroi began to compete in dueling, striking, and other fighting tournaments. His innate talent and the skill that further developed it showed early on in his life.

By time he had reached adulthood, he was already considered one of Roshmi's City greatest fighters and had already begun making a name for himself. Minor fame followed Kuroi by the age of nineteen, making him a local celebrity and a decently known name in the fighting scene. It was much to his father's simultaneous dismay and pride that Kuroi gave up blacksmithing and chose to pursue dueling full-time. After all, all the money he made by fighting and dueling was evidence of his skills. Be it a duel with blades and sticks, a boxing bout, or a fight that welcomed a mix of fighting disciplines, Kuroi proved himself to be triumphant in all. Well, that is for grappling matches, of course. He dared not enter in those and only showed his face to a grappler under a set of mixed fighting rules.

On his twentieth summer, Kuroi earned certification under his mother, Akane Usagi, to teach the family's arts and combatives to whomever he deemed worthy of them. This led to a new venue of income for Kuroi - teaching private lessons to those wealthy and honorable enough to not misuse his teachings. Although his stable flow of income and his local fame was enough to independize himself, Kuroi chose to reside with his parents in order to keep them company. He knew that although his parents encouraged him to leave and see the world, they wished he didn't. Even with mild fame and the ability to already independize himself, Kuroi was still young. At two decades old, he was still but a fledgling fox who had yet to make many mistakes and learn a lot in life.

By his twenty-first birthday, he had decided that although he would return home often enough, he would travel Avalia in order to become one of the best duelists that had ever lived. His father's teachings had not left him either for he planned on collecting a variety of weapons to add to his personal collection - to appreciate the various cultures' approach to warfare and combat performance all over Avalia.

Kuroi had another thing set in stone however. This young Vulpine may wish to live away from strife but that does not mean he will not turn his back on his morals or ethics in order to live more comfortably.

He knew deep within himself that there would be a moment in his life that his heart and soul would call him to action for the greater good.

And it was likely that it would be at the cost of everything that he had built for himself.

Kuroi's Physical Prowess

Kuroi has been training for his entire life. As a result, this makes him a deadly foe in physical combat, making ranged and magic-based attacks your best bet to keep distance. In terms of which fighting disciplines he excels in the most, see below:

First and foremost, Kuroi is completely capable of mixing and adapting styles whenever the need arises. As it currently stands though, his grappling is very weak and will result in him taking a weapon with him if he is forced to go to the ground. The only time he would willingly go to the ground otherwise is through a takedown of sorts.

Additionally, this Vulpine is capable of stealth and has the necessary training to go in eliminate someone from behind. This includes but is not limited to: stealth (duh), weapon retention, basic grappling, and basic anatomy/biology of the body.

Kuroi is extremely fond of high-speed, athletic takedowns which make use of gravity as well as his body. In one of his last tournaments, one of his most famous (and controversial) wins was in an anything goes stick-fighting match. He ended up putting his opponent into a guillotine choke, jumped up into the air, and slammed the opponent's face directly into his knee, resulting in an instant knockout. The controversy behind this win is obvious - with such force behind a technique, one could almost kill someone.

Besides takedowns and sweeps, Kuroi is insanely skilled with weaponry (especially knives, sticks, and swords). He has the necessary weapon retention theory and training needed to deal with opponents on an armed vs armed and unarmed vs armed situation. Additionally, he tends to assist the biomechanics of the body with weaponry if he has any at his disposal. If he has none, it is guaranteed that he will strike the opponent when he is body-to-body with them, be it via headbutt, elbows, knees, or anything else that works at that given snapshot of a moment.

As an unabashed extrovert, Nym is whimsical, spontaneous, and always ready for an adventure. Many find him shallow, and he wouldn’t argue that. Excitement is a necessity, for Nym cannot stand boredom. He is often the life of the party, always ready to drink and celebrate. And that is about the extent of Nym that a casual acquaintance will ever know. He shares truths with very few and doesn’t extend trust easily. His treatment towards others is highly dependent on how they treat him and his relationship with that person. A man of dubious morality, ever-shifting to suit his needs and desires. There are very few lines he doesn’t cross.

It is only for his crew or the rare dear friend that he would sacrifice for, and his well-being is generally his first concern. Most people do not matter to Nym. Above all things, even wealth, Nym values loyalty, but not to causes, morality, or any belief system. His loyalty lies only with people. It is the few people who have earned his deepest levels of respect and trust that matter to him above all else. Betrayal is never a thought for him when it comes to those he loves. Those who lose his trust, break his absolute loyalty, will never have it again. Nym does not forgive.

It is no easy task to find his temper, though he is someone capable of violence it is rarely personal and he is cold and calculating about it. Professionally, patience comes easy, he can wait, he can think through situations and react logically. Personally, when situations are not about money, he has little time for patience, and acts on his whims, on what seems fun. Neither brave nor cowardly, his reactions take into account risk and reward, if the potential gain outweighs the risk he will proudly face danger. If the situation calls for him to run and live to fight and sail another day, then he will. While he carries a lot of pride it is not enough that he would willingly risk his life for the sake of pride alone. Anxiety has never been an issue for him, once he makes a choice he commits fully and doesn’t look back.

Cunning and charismatic, Nym is more than willing to manipulate those around him. Most people do not matter to him, they are expendable, they merely exist. There is little in the world that he takes so seriously that it cannot be laughed at, and even jokes made at his expense are easily laughed off. While cunning and more than willing to use underhanded methods, Nym is far from a mastermind, and he has no issue taking advice from those with more wisdom than he. It would not be a stretch for others to call him insane, his outlook on the world differs from most, he can turn from a charming acquaintance to a cold and ruthless killer in an instance, and he possesses a strong narcissistic streak. His energy never seems to run low, he works hard, parties hard, and does nothing half-assed.

History:

Nym was found in the back alleyways of Port Vanarosa and taken in by the women who worked in a nearby brothel. He was raised by half a dozen mothers, amongst their own bastard children and so, from then on, he was never really alone. It was not a normal childhood but Nym remembers them all fondly and in the end, he was provided for; given food, shelter, and people who cared. Although he loved his home, and those who made it all feel like a home, many in the port town looked down upon Nym and his makeshift family. They wrote him off as a filthy street urchin, and he hated them for their easy, boring, simple lives. He grew to yearn for success and wealth, and have it all within a life that would be so much grander than folks like that could even dream of. As a child, he spent his days stealing from them and his nights listening to tales from sailors that frequented the brothel.

Once he learned to steal, he learned to become self-reliant. The ideas of law and order meant nothing to him, they had given him nothing. All he had was what he took for himself, and the act of taking it made it worth something. He understood that fate would not be kind to him. If he wanted a life worth something he would have to take his fate into his own hands. He shared what he had with those who had shared with him, and everyone else was fair game for him to take from. His world consisted of allies and enemies and he made the best of it.

Nym had felt the call of the seas for as long as he can remember. The need to see more than the filth-ridden streets he was born to, the desire for adventure. He joined the crew of a merchant ship as a scrawny young lad, he learned to sail, and the work made him stronger. Those he worked for were cruel, quick to punish with the lash, and he was paid very little. He was still poor, still barely above his original lot in life.

His greatest stroke of fortune was the day that damned ship was attacked by pirates, and given the choice to join or face death, Nym chose correctly and never looked back. Within the pirate crew, he found a new sense of created family and a fair shot at the wealth and success he’d always dreamed of. In a pirate's life, all that was needed to succeed was the guts to take what you wanted and in this endeavor, Nym excelled. His adventures brought him to many ports, under the command of many a great captain and eventually a fortune of his very own. Throughout the years, fortune has dealt him both victories and losses, currently though he is a pirate without a crew lounging around Port Vanarosa. The last ship he sailed on encountered trouble while straying too close to The Dreaded Isles, with the ship destroyed and most of its crew dead or unaccounted for, Nym now searches for a new adventure.

Upon first meeting Mika she comes across as fairly introverted. She initially comes across as being slightly cold and withdrawn, but give her time and you'll find that she's actually warm and compassionate. Get to know her more and you'll find she can be very stubborn and she'll always keep her promises. She's surprisingly a natural at lying, but she's not one to use this talent unless she really has to. She has a fiery, rebellious, daring side to her that hates rules, and is very curious as to the world around her. Mika can be extremely seductive and charming when she wants to be, but generally prefers to remain open to the people she has an affection for. She hates it when others judge her, and is fairly indignant in terms of those who don't receive equal rights.

She can be very cunning when she wants to be as she is brilliant at masking her emotions and playing different roles, and has a hotheaded temper when provoked. She has an unwavering loyalty to those who have earned her trust, and a deep hatred towards those who have broken it. She does doubt herself often and doesn't believe she's fit for the role she's supposed to play as a princess. This doubt can easily send her into a downward spiral and often needs a friend to pull her out of it.

History:

Mika was the second born child to the king and queen of Roshmi and the only daughter. Raised with proper manners and etiquette, to the outside world the Roshmi royalty seems to be the perfect image of what royalty should be. Behind closed doors, however, things are very different. When she was young, Mika's parents were incredibly overprotective of her and strict. Itsuki could never do any wrong, but Mika was expected to be the perfect princess. A delicate flower is what her mother wanted her to be, but Mika hated it. She'd constantly act out, pulling pranks on guards and maids in the palace, and suffering consequences.

As she grew older she began to recognize more and more wrong with her family. Her parents' marriage wasn't a happy one. Her father had many mistresses and her mother was constantly drinking in order to forget her husband's infidelity. Her brother was constantly at parties and on something. As she saw the imperfections she questioned why she had to be perfect. She wanted to do what she wanted and she'd be damned if they stopped her. She wanted to learn to fight and her mother disagreed at first, but Mika wasn't about to take no for an answer. So soon she was being trained in combat.

The dysfunction in her family causes her to have many trust issues. Her mother began pushing her towards marriage and while Mika enjoyed flirting, she was terrified of marriage. She didn't want to be stuck in a relationship like her parents and so she refused any marriage proposals. It frustrated her mother to no end, but being the second born she could get away with her refusals. It was more important they found her brother a wife first as he needed a queen. So for the time Mika was safe. She could focus on her combat training and watching as tensions rose with the Dark Elves.

Orias has worked hard to distance himself from the selfish and arrogant prince he once was, and his low opinion of himself makes it very easy to choose to try and save others before himself. He is protective towards those around him and would not leave another behind to face danger alone. He has had so many experiences over the years that have grounded him, making him far more humble and a kinder elf. He thinks things over far more carefully, considers others before he acts. While he enjoys the company of others he is more reserved and does not open up easily. Orias would rather listen to others than talk about himself. He prefers the company of others to loneliness and the ideal chatter of a stranger above silence.

Although Orias generally seems very calm he has always struggled with his temper, and nowadays he prefers to walk away rather than act on it, but even so, it often gets the better of him. His patience only stems from his fear of action and of making mistakes. What others might mistake for bravery, is his own lack of regard for his own life or safety, and Orias in fact considers himself to be a coward. He has spent a great many years running from and avoiding his past and the burden of the title he was born with. He hides from mistakes he can’t face, no longer allows himself to hold any ambition, and believes the only way to repent for his past mistakes is to continue to punish himself, to keep his life simple and away from any meaningful responsibility. He is easily tempted into taking the easy way out of things, constantly drawn to past vices, and would rather avoid problems than face them. He believes the only way for him to avoid making the same mistakes is to keep himself suffering, toiling, and always dwell on every failure.

While Orias’s own sense of humor is very dry, he enjoys the company of those who can make him laugh or even smile. At one point in his life, he was charismatic but this has faded from lack of use. History:

Orias, the youngest child of the royal family of the Sun Elf Kingdom was born into a life of privilege and luxury. He had everything he wanted, a palace full of servants who waited on his every whim and parents far too occupied with older siblings to have the time to worry about him. He quickly ended up a spoiled and entitled child, free from much of the crushing responsibility that his older siblings had to endure. He never envied them, never wanted responsibility or life devoted to duty to his kingdom. Orias was never destined to become king, he had older siblings for that, all that was expected of him was to simply not make the family look bad and eventually marry well. Even with expectations set so low, Orias still managed to fail to meet them. His early life was filled with numerous scandals. He became known for his frequent visits to brothels and low-class bars, getting into fights with the common folk, and all-around embarrassing his family any way he could. He took none of his studies seriously except for combat training, which he only did because he found it fun. He did what he wanted with no thought to the family image and ignored any sense of responsibility. Eventually, his father had enough and felt that time in the elven military would straighten him out.

Even within the elven military, a prince does not take orders, he gives them. His reckless and rebellious behavior continued even as he was given command of his own platoon. His command was mostly for show, to improve his image to the public, and his father was more than aware of just how unfit for leadership his son truly was. The bar was once again set so low for him, and again he failed. Ordered to stay within the kingdom, patrol the borders, make reports, and avoid engaging in conflicts but he found it all far too mundane. He craved action and glory so when rumors of nearby orcs encroaching on trade routes reached his ears he decided it was time for action. The very much hungover and far too green prince led his platoon against orcs in battle and for the first time in his life felt the entire weight of his responsibility fall upon his unready shoulders.

The entirety of Orias’s combat training was controlled, against teachers who knew better than to actually try and harm the young prince. Orcs, on the other hand, held no such reservations. His men were slaughtered and the young prince found himself laying amongst the dead and wounded with his throat slit, his face horribly scarred, and covered in his own blood. For the briefest of moments, he truly expected to die. He almost wanted it, but he had led a useless life and he knew he only brought disappointment to his family name but death only meant that could never change, that he’d always be remembered as a failure and a fool. Pride drove him to cling to life, and Orias used his light magic to cauterize his bleeding throat and he lay among the dead and dying until he was sure the orcs had gone. He survived long enough to be found wandering the road days later. When he first saw his face reflected in a pool of water, battle-scarred and unrecognizable from the beautiful prince he had once been, he saw only a way out of the life he resented.

Rather than return home, Orias rode with merchants to Roshmi City, the thought of seeing his family's disappointment in him was something he wasn’t ready to face. He decided he needed to make his own way, to earn his title rather than simply be born into it. Months became years, years became decades but he stayed away from his home. He found work as a mercenary, then a carpenter, and finally a blacksmith. Earned his own modest living in anything that required true hard work and what he did began to matter so much less than knowing that he had earned it with his own hands. Orias became a different person, found it so much easier to change in a place where no one knew him, where nothing was expected of him. After so many years went by he continued to avoid any contact with his family, stayed away from his kingdom, convinced himself he was better off in a life he earned and they were far better off without him around.

Unlike her father, the famed general Xenelith, Nimueh is an often reclusive person. Since birth, she got along better with wolf cubs than other dark elves. Later in youth, she never really got along with those of her own kind either. She wasn't bullied (or at least not more than most) nor excluded needlessly. Still she never found someone to truly connect with. After decades those she had called friends drifted away. Since then she became almost entirely selfless. Save for one person. She would do anything for her father. The man that always made her feel like she belonged. None the less she is a dark elf. One raised with the last name "Dreadclaw". Which meant that she was taught how to be cruel the very moment she knew what cruelty was. The love her father showed her was balanced by the hatred he imbued her with towards the other races. The endless stories he told her about the times before the war were etched in her mind. Her father had known early on that she would never play well with others. To that end he honed her to be a singular blade in the dark. The arrow from the shadows. To her there is no protecting or saving others.

Nimueh has fallen into the same flaws as her father in his youth though. Much like him in his younger years she is ill-tempered. It has been a challenge to keep her calm for all these years. She has been itching to sail for Avalia and start slaying her foes. Some would say - only behind hers and her father's back - that she's a rabid dog. Those men have never seen her angry. She doesn't shout or scream or grunt. All the rage and hatred she holds is honed into perfect focus. Her admirers would call her brave. Others would call her headstrong and foolish. When she has chosen her prey, nothing can stop her. She is fast and adaptable, having survived sometimes for years out in the harsh wilds of Daka.

She strives to emulate her father. To that end, she has recently tried to read books. Still, she's not that clever. She can lay a clever trap but in a debate, she'll flounder and fail. Often times she still lets herself be led by emotions. Even when calm Nimueh is a cold person. Very few, if anyone, would follow her in battle. She makes enemies, true enemies that would want her dead, far easier than she makes friends. And those few friends she makes never stick around. Sometimes, in her loneliest hours, she believes that she needs to connect to someone. Someone that would make her laugh and would laugh at her jokes. Not that she's particularly funny though. Still, sometimes in her darkest hours, she would doubt her own life and question if things could be different. All those times though she has always come to the conclusion that no, her life cannot be different. That loneliness, the way she was raised and her own personality definitely would make for someone that most normal people would call "disturbed". Some would say she is more akin to an animal. Not just because of her cruelty or detachment from dark elven society but because of her drive as well. She's restless. Uncontrollable. If she found her prey she can hunt it day and night without sleep or rest.

Nimueh was born from a very strange union. Xenelith was an accomplished warrior and a general known for his inspiring but cruel leadership. Her mother, Sillae, was a blessed priestess of Halastra also called the Lady of Sorrows. Despite that, she never truly inherited aspects of either of them. From a young age, it was clear that Nimueh was just outright bad at making friends. She kept to herself most of the time and scared away anyone that got close. For a dark elf, these are dangerous traits. Few survive Daka on their own. She did not show a real aptitude for magic either. Luckily Over the years, her talents revealed themselves. Even as a 55-year-old she was swift and quiet. At the age of 78, Xenelith took her out into the wilderness of Daka for an extended hunt. To his own surprise, she managed to fell a giant spider with her bow. Since then Xenelith knew what talent his daughter possessed and knew that she would be vital for the war to come.

In the years afterward, Nimueh grew as a hunter. She learned how to track her prey through snow or swamp. Every year she felled larger prey. Eventually, when she turned 100, she entered the service of the army. She shot through the ranks on her own merit using a false last name. At the age of 120, she arrived before her father as Nimueh Ravenshot. When she turned 125 her father bestowed upon her two gifts. The first was a medallion worn by one of the assassins that had killed the light elf elders a millennia ago. The second was a task: find a great warrior on Avalia’s mainland and kill him. Three years later she came back with the pointed ears of a light elf.

Since that day she has served her father as a relentless hunter. Now, as the inevitable war grows closer, Nimueh has been honing her skills by hunting slaves like they are sport. Waiting when she can start to hunt her true prey: the free races of Avalia.
