I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

”Right, suspect the cautious one.” Braden raised Erica up without looking at Calvin. But the puppet had plenty to say to him. ”Listen here bucko, even if you're an egg short of a dozen, it doesn't take a genius to figure out Mercy was looking over many patients in that time frame. Braden sprained his wrist practicing a puppet show with us, so we went to see Mercy. Jezebel and Zachary were there before us so it's not like we were first.” The puppet leaned closer. ”But say, chum, did anyone see Mercy after you? Or were you there with her by yourself for a time? BUSTED!”

Emily wasn't making eye contact with anyone. She was just leaning on her podium, which was swallowed by her massive breasts. “Oh Calvin, you couldn't have done it.” she shook her head. “I'm so useless, if only I could prove it...”

”Noel right!” Denis cried out. ”We were together almost entire day. We even went to my room for interview! I famous now!”

“Heh...” Jezebel grunted. She had been pretty quiet, but was grinning during Thomas and Alice's entire demonstration. ”So like, Zachary wanted to have the doctor look over his eye and junk, and I came with. Caora was leaving just as we arived, and like, Braden showed up just as we were leaving. So yea.“

”Alright” Lucy was jotting down notes in a text book. Probably a product from the craft store on the new floor. ”So it seems like Mercy was helping a lot of people around that time. We should definitely continue to talk about the people who saw mercy during that time.” The infinite prodigy looked at the group. ”But I'm not going to nail the killer with just a list of people who saw Mercy. Did anyone notice anything else that was kind of strange? Other than having access to Mercy, was there anything else the killer needed to pull off this crime?”
Alright, so I have a few people assaulting me Via PM about this, so I'm going to clear this up real quick.

The times I gave you in your notes are not 100% accurate. So if your notes say that your character was somewhere between two different times, they could be a few minutes off. This is to account for the fact that your characters do not have perfect memory, and to make the case more interesting. For instances like this, you may need to rely on other clues to make a chronological order of "by the minute" events. Read your clues carefully...

And the trial has started.

Just another reminder, don't rattle off all the information I gave you via PM unless it's relevant to the investigation. If you do have to say something, make sure it's consistent with what I sent you. Wouldn't want the case to be unsolvable because someone misrepresented observational evidence. Of course, it's also possible that with our large cast of characters I simply overlooked something. But I feel pretty confident about this one.

Anyway, get to throwing around baseless accusations. ESPECIALLY you, banana boy!
”Yea but, the rules don't say I have to play the announcement everywhere, right?” Monokuma tipped his head at Cyrus. ”I could just play it in one room and that would be okay, right?” The bear chuckled. ”Anyway, after a second glance, I noticed that not everyone is present. So I guess I'll make an announcement. But only because you're so damn cute when you're angry.” Shortly afterwards, the familiar, chilling announcement played.

Bliss was at a loss for words. She just stood beside Cyrus, horrified, unable to move. Her hands became so shaky that she dropped her umbrella. It rolled through the blood, drawing a perfect half-circle before it came to a stop.

”Cover your eyes, Caora! This isn't for kids!” Lucy wrapped her arms around the trap's head and pulled his face into her breasts. ”Wait, you're older than I am!”

Denis placed his hands over Lucy's eyes. ”Fear not, pretty lady!”

It didn't take Jezebel or Zachary long to show up after that. Jezebel let out an annoyed grown and folded her arms. “Like, of course... ”

”So I guess I'll give you guys my handy-dandy monokuma file now.” He squinted his one red eye. ”But boy am I tempted to hold it back. 'It's not in the rules, Cyrus! It's not like I have to, Faith!'” Monokuma shrugged and smiled. ”There we go, all downloaded. You may start investigating.”

And so the search started. The first thing everyone did was looked at their monokuma file. It didn't offer much, only describing more or less what everyone had seen. But it did bring everyone's attention to a puncture wound on Mercy's hand. She had bandaged it up, but it looked like it must have happened fairly recently. A scab hadn't even formed over it yet.

After that, the groups split up, leaving just a few people to watch after the body.

The first found a book in the chemistry lab beside a mixing station. It was opened to a page that talked about a man-made chemical called Litonix. According to the passage, Litonix is very poisonous and even a small amount can kill as quickly as one hour. The victim starts to violently hemorrhage blood seconds before they die. However, it can be mixed with other chemicals to produce Mundinol, a luminol-like substance. It's more accurate than luminol, and doesn't react to other bodily fluids. But it is still very poisonous and can kill in four to five hours. Litonix is only poisonous if ingested or it enters the blood stream. The origins of the book are unknown, but it does not appear to have come from the chemistry lab. There's no reading material here, and everyone who scouted the third floor days prior reported not having found anything like that.

The group watching over Mercy's body decided to inspect it again, and found that she had a police badge on her person. It must have belonged to Max, but why would Mercy have this?

The last group found a mask just outside the corridor leading to all the rooms in the second floor patient's quarters. Monokuma showed up to explain that pressing the button on the face causes the mask to sprout "ribs" that grab the back of the victim's head, and then gasses the victim with the virus. Further examining revealed the mask to be depleted.

When asked about the mask, Monokuma said. “The mask can only infect one victim. There is also only one mask, and I only loan it out to people who dial for a day at a time. after which, the mask simply gets up and returns, waiting to be summoned again.” The bear chuckled. When asked about the virus itself, Monokuma had this to say. ”Initially, the horseman virus impairs some of it's victim's senses, causing them to shamble slightly. it can makes them more susceptible to suggestions as well. They also have mild hallucinations, which get worse until the victim becomes a mindless zombie. the entire process happens in less than a week, with the fastest progression being four days.”

Little else was found before Monokuma called the investigation off. It was time for the trials to begin.

TRIAL IS IN SESSION
ALL RISE

”I'm sure you guys know what I'm going to say, but just in case, I'll say it again. If the blackened is exposed during the trial, they alone be punished. But if they aren't exposed, everyone besides the blackened will be punished. And just to avoid another trial one mishap, I'd like to add that you don't have to 'expose' the blackened like 'that.'” Monokuma sighed. ”If I seem a little low power, it's just because my daughters were misbehaving again. But if they're good, maybe I'll let them join the trial with us.” Killgood batted his eyes.

Lucy was the first to speak up. ”I think it's pretty standard to discuss the victim first. All the cases I've read about seem to start with that.” Lucy had a feint smile on her face while she spoke. ”It wasn't stated very clearly in the Monokuma file, but I think it's safe to suggest we're dealing with a poisoning here.” She folded her arms. ”It's probably kind of obvious, but if we can figure out what poison was used on Mercy, we'll have a better idea of what actually happened to her.”

If you were to observe the spectacle with the volume off, one might believe that they were watching some sort of educational video. The world's most talented high-schoolers all gathered together in front of a bear was something straight off of the TV. But this wasn't TV, and what Monokuma was asking was unreasonable. Even the celebrity impersonator knew the seriousness of the situation. She held her PDA in a trembling hand, scanning the rules.

”B-but!” She flicked her eyes towards the bear. ”W-what if we're locked in? We can't break in, but can we break out? That would be okay, right?” It wasn't her only question, it wasn't even her most pressing question. But her mind was racing, and there was little else she could say on such short notice.

”Heh...” Davis snorted. He was giving the rules on the PDA a look over before adressing the bear. ”Don't make me laugh.” He folded his arms. ”Is this really the extent of your creativity? You had the power to catch each and every one of us, wipe our memories, and the most interesting thing you could find to do with us was...this?” Davis spun on his heels. He was pointing at everything around himself. ”You have no control over the environment. Not the weather, not anything that might come and try to disturb this place, it's not even really that interesting. I hope you're not videotaping this for a live audience, because this would be the worst reality TV show I ever appeared on!”Davis pointed at the PDA. ”These rules aren't even particularly interesting, and there are so few of them! I'm not even sure 'leaving' the island is all that attractive with how cryptic some of these rules are. You're going to have to try a lot harder than this if you expect anything to happen.”

”Um.” Neola took a step towards Davis.”Are you trying to give him ideas?”

”Just stating how I would do things.” He folded his arms and smiled. "Anyway, I doubt anyone's going to kill just to leave the camp. And even if they were, someone as important as me can't vanish without causing an extensive search and rescue effort. Our predicament won't last forever.”

Sue was to run to the turret without injury. Perhaps in a fight between magical girls, a familiar didn't look like an important target to anyone. Sue did not spend a lot of time thinking about it. Sue spent very little time thinking about herself. The thing driving her forward was her desire to save Lily. Deni was enough, she wasn't going to let the Viscerals take Lily too!

Sue recognized her error from earlier. Clearly the cannon needed to be loaded before it could be fired. Sue had familiarized herself with the turret console on the drive to the castle, so there wouldn't be any screw ups this time. Now in human form, Sue loaded a “beam” round into the barrel. She had no idea what it did, but it sounded right for the situation. Sue then aimed the turret. It made a light hum until the familiar was satisfied with who was lined up in the cross hairs: Doris.

“Hussie!”

Sue fired, launching a golden beam of energy at her target. It was so bright that Sue wasn't able to tell if her target dodged or not. But with the beam still firing, she pulled back on the stick, causing the turret to swing the beam into the sky, Where it would undoubtedly hit Curie. At least that was what Sue hoped.

Meanwhile, things continued to get better for Amber. It had been so long since she had been the one to do the ambushing that she almost didn't know how to react.

"Damn..." Amber could hear Umiko mutter to herself. "I'm not paid enough for this. Not for the pain and suffering I can inflict on my fellow man, I deserve so much more than what they're giving me."

The pirate didn't waste any time. She simply raised her weapon and fired a cannonball straight into Umiko's back. “Then consider that payment in full!” Shortly after her quip, the pirate girl fell to one knee and chuckled to herself. Her hands were visibly shaking.

“Wherefore doth thou act like mad shamble-lass?” Boteg's voice echoed in her mind.

“It's just...” The pirate stood back up. “I think that's the first time I actively tried to kill another magical girl.”

Well, Amber couldn't take full credit for the hit.

Tonya had made Umiko's words less sympathetic to paint her as a monster in Amber's eyes. Normally Amber would be much too nice to shoot someone in the back, least of all with a lethal kill shot. But the rest of Amber's team needed to catch up with her , and that would be harder if Umiko could still fire on her allies.

It pained Tonya to do in a fellow beacon hater, but she had no remorse for those who helped Justine, brainwashed or not. She continued to remain hidden just behind amber, assisting with Alicia's distraction as best she could.
@Mattchstick Typically @Frizan picks the theme, but he has listened to the community in the past. the collab contest was something I suggested that he ran with. So all I can say is that if you suggest something, he'll consider it.
With food, a dance floor, and music all prepared by infinites, there was little to hate about the party. Of course there were a few sour apples. Not everyone thrived in social environments, and some simply thrived where they were always unhappy, or could make others unhappy. Most of such individuals left, and the party was back in full swing.

Though there was an uninvited guest.

Everyone was so enthralled with their dance partner, their musical instrument, or their food, their something that they didn't notice the bear show up. His height lent itself to that, and his black and white body blended in with the table cloths and the shadows. Or maybe he was simply overlooked as a penguin. Not that the despair bear in good lighting could ever be mistaken for a hope penguin.

”Now isn't this sweet as honey.” Monokuma wasn't quite loud enough to be heard over the music. ”Only in a place like this, surrounded by despair, could such a shoddy thing be considered a party.” The bear started to walk out onto the dance floor. ”Despair can make water taste like wine, deep fried chicken becomes thanksgiving turkey. Without misery, none of life's little spenders would mean a thing. You can't appreciate clean air until you've taken your first whiff of car exhaust.” By this point, people were starting to notice Monokuma walking across the dance floor. Krista wasn't going to stop playing, but she almost missed a few notes. ”Hey! It's not polite to stare at someone without a dancing partner! Maybe Mrs. Killgood left me a few years back, but that doesn't mean you young kids get to look at me like that! We'll see how you fair when you're a single parent surrounded by troublesome daughters!” Monokuma continued to walk in a straight line. He had a destination, a purpose. And it was at table two. The bear bent his knees and hopped onto the table. He scanned everyone in front of him. ”Wait, really? I arrived early? A doctor should be punctual, but it's not really that cool you know?” Monokuma turned to look at Mercy ”Well? You're a doctor too right? What do you think about that?” Mercy dropped her glass of punch and took hold of her neck. Something was seeping out of the corners of her mouth. At first it looked like she was just coughing up some punch, but it became clear to everyone that she was coughing up blood. Lots of it. With her free hand, she took hold of the table and vomited. But the only thing that came up was more blood. She had another convulsion and released the table. Marcy fell onto her back, blood still oozing out of her mouth. She wasn't moving. ”So uh.” Monokuma lifted a paw to his face. ”Is it still a body discovery if it was never hiding?”
writing is not a visual medium, and trying to paint someone's appearance as clearly as a photograph or illustration is unwise. Do mention anything notable, from hair color, length, scars, eye color, etc. Anything that needs to be kept consistent from post to post. In books, a lot of writers simply give you the character's name and let the reader imagine them however they desire. The only time it really becomes nessisary to know exactly what a part of a character looks like is when it's important to the story. Such events include everything from an individual who's looking for long haired girls, or maybe if your character has long or short sleeves in the event someone tries to grab them.

I find the more interesting aspects of describing something is writing it's history instead of how an item or person looks. Don't describe how the scars on a warior's face look, explain how he got them. As I've said in other topics, quirks in the character's behavior are more interesting than their appearance. Anyone can have a fancy sword or a unique body alteration. But how many characters do you know that smack their cheeks when they wake up in the morning? collect pave stones from the roads they walk on?
