Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

@Mangrale That's because the forum automatically take huge pictures and scales them to fit on the page. When you indent, you're reducing the allowed space for an image, shrinking it in turn.

the best way to shrink an image is to just boot up your favorite paint software and scale it down. It saves you from having to do a bunch of messy indents every time you want to use an image. Some image hosting sites offer simple resize options if you don't feel like doing it yourself. Everyone hates tumbler, but I uploaded this image to it.

If you open the image in it's own tab, you'll notice the last 4 digits in the address are "1280." That's actually a resolution code. By simply changing that to 640 in the URL...

...we get a smaller image, and we can go smaller.

And we can even go even smaller than that.

Hero's district, Priestella

Mono walked with the group all the way to the hero's district. Except for Wisp, who was held firmly in Mono's grasp, with Aki positioning herself under his arm the entire time. She had made it to the hero's district while walking like a crab. As soon as they got there, a guard ran up to Mono.

”Get me Captain Crunch.” The guard saluted, and ran for one of the many buildings. It wasn't long before a woman with green hair stepped out of the building, arms crossed. She wore a black cloak, which was decorated with strange lines and woodland items like leaves and feathers.

”What is it mono? I'm currently off duty.”

”And I'm very sorry about that, but if you were on duty, you'd be sailing somewhere.”

The woman sighed. ”Fair enough.”

Mono gestured towards the group. ”we have an unusual situation here. It involves powerful teleportation magic, possibly cultists, these foreigners, and wisp of all fucking people.” He briefly gave the demi-human a scornful glare. As scornful as you could give through a visor. ”I need to question these three witnesses, as well as interrogate the foreigners.”

Crunch folded her arms. ”Very well. I understand the urgency.” She pointed at a building. ”There are some unused offices. Split the foreigners up among them, I'll question them after I've spoken with the witnesses.” And with that, the guards immidiately guided everyone to where they had to go. The offices were pretty non discript, only featuring a wooden table and seating for a few people. A guard remained with each foreigner until crunch arived.
@PlatinumSkink@Ariamis

Su did not relax when she got deeper inside the building. Just because she had passed that one girl didn't mean there wouldn't be more. She also had to make good time if she wanted to find the frozen monster before it could hurt anyone. But what Su found was not what she expected.

Amber did not discriminate between magical girls, dark magical girls, and monster girls. All had valuable booty that they would often relinquish on capture. Monsters on the other hand were just that, monsters. Amber killed them because their presence upset Boteg, but they really didn't offer Amber anything beyond making her patron happy. Su was expecting to find a giant colossus of a creature frozen in a solid block of ice. Something hidden in the depths of the building that was waiting to unleash havoc on Penrose. But this monster girl said that she had been trapped by ice, which indicated to Su that her search had ended. If Su had known what the threat actually was, she wouldn't have been so eager to get past the metal girl. She wouldn't have entered the building at all. Su felt very stupid for not remaining with the skeleton horde. It took Helga's shout to bring Su out of her thoughts.

”Uh.” Su cautiously looked over her shoulder in the direction of the sound. ”Coming!” She turned her attention back to the girl in front of her. If she played her cards right, she was sure she could get out of this without starting another fight. ”Oh, do you want to put out the fires?” Su made the suggestion hoping to dodge any of the monster girl's other questions. ”Let's try this.” Su opened her hands, and a bubble appeared between them. It was actually a vacuum, which was only visible because of the dust particles swarming around the outside of it. Because there was no air inside of the bubble, the vacuum starved the fires it touched and put them out instantly. It just took Su a few seconds to extinguish all the fires and banish the bubble. ”I'm glad I was able to help out, but I appear to have taken a wrong turn.” She gave a small bow before turning around to leave. Su bit her lower lip as she walked back the way she came. She wasn't sure if that monster girl was going to follow her, or if she was going to become hostile. But she started to focus her mana just in case.

Mika's attention was fully on the wolf woman and her pack of other selves. It was a bit distracting, and the masked girl went entirely ignored by the spectacle. It was hard for the two skeletons she destroyed to garner as much attention as the wolf pack that was cleaving it's way through the horde of monsters.

When the wolf girl spoke, she was snapped out of her trance. ”P-pack!?” Mika wasn't entirely sure what to make of this comment. A pack of wolves was a family of wolves. Joining someone's pack was to become part of their family. This was fairly simple for wolves to do. But for humans, you became part of someone else's family through marriage. There was also adoption, but she was sixteen, so that didn't seem very relevant. While coming to Mika's aid was a huge plus in her book, she wouldn't actually marry someone over it. Especially with that other girl who fed her still out there somewhere. But perhaps the wolf woman wasn't being quite so literal with the usage of the word pack. Anyone who could summon this many clones of themselves probably wasn't lonely enough to damsel hunt for a bride. And if she was, Mika felt confident she could explain the misunderstanding away later, or find some kind of middle ground. ”Pack? I've got your back!” Mika's necklace started to glow a light blue color and her wounds started to close. She'd stick by this new girl like glue until she healed up a bit. ”You can call me Mika. Thanks for the rescue!”

After Shona's swing missed, she raised the massive blade and rested it on her shoulder. Her armor shined brilliantly where the transparent edges came together. She briefly acknowledged Sally speaking to her by looking at her fellow beacon, but then looked back at Amaryllis.

”You do not know what you speak of. Perhaps she serves a horror, but even so I can tell she does not do so willingly.” Shona's reached for the sky, and her helmet appeared in her outstretched hand. It, too, was covered in the same transparent material as her armor and sword. ”Darkness can't be cut with a knife, it needs to be illuminated. Such is the duty of all beacon girls.” Shona lowered her helmet over her head, and the seam between her helmet and the rest of her armor sealed itself with a flash. The sparks danced across her crystalline outer layer. ”I am Shona Moffett, knight of Beacon, Champion of the Pure. I dream of the day this sword is liberated from my hands, but it will not be today!” Again, Shona took the offensive. This time there was less space between them. With a single hand, she heaved her sword off of her shoulder and swung it overhead. The blade was already curving towards Amaryllis, and would surely cut her in two if she stayed in the way.

“I cut not darkness, but the heart of evil, for bright light will always cast great shadows, and only the silver blade can cease the beating of malice and iniquity.” But their ideals could not align, for their blades reflected different scenes, and their values burned in different lights. Lashing out at the same time Shona had, Amaryllis remained three beats faster as the tip of her rapier thrust not at the Champion’s thick armor but at the pommel of the greatsword instead. Stopping it before it could fully accelerate, the rapier flexed but did not break, and, with a ‘pang’, bounced Shona’s sword back the way it came.

This forced her momentum back, causing her sword to swing backwards. Shona had the discipline to properly position her feet to prevent herself from stumbling. But this small window was all Amaryllis needed to get in a few quick thrusts at her side. Her thrusts did not have great penetrating power, but they were still coming from an exquisite sword arm. The first blow sent spider cracks across the surface of the armor. The second caused the cracks to fork and travel across her chest plate, the third shattered the crystal exterior of the armor, and still had enough power to plunge through her steel plate and draw blood. This was the second time Shona had been stabbed during this battle. It was difficult to gauge Shona's reaction with her helmet on, as only her eyes could be seen through two very small slits. But Shona was not standing still. Her arm followed the momentum of the sword behind her head. ”Take a good look at the blood on your sword.” Her broadsword made a complete rotation, cutting through the earth like it was nothing but air. When the sword popped out of the ground, it was followed by an explosion of debris. Likely not a threat to a magical girl, but it could cause momentary blindness. ”There is no malice in that blood. Only a desire to protect and serve pumps through this virtuous heart.” Shona's feet left the ground as she jumped into the air, causing her sword to soar even higher upwards.

Amaryllis cared not to continue their discourse amidst the bloodrush of combat, a flick of her wrist sending those droplets of Shona’s blood unto the ravaged stadium sand. Zealous and stalwart, the champion’s might was undoubtedly blessed by human prayer, but speed remained the Rose Knight’s forte, and a singular backstep propelled her five meters back, where both the eruption of earth and its blinding effect was simply mitigated by distance. Silver chains leaped out as the armored warrior ascended, mortal ivy anchoring around her ankles before she could complete her meteoric blow, and, wrapping the chains around her wrist twice, Amaryllis pulled harshly, swinging Shona in a wide circle around her.

Skin may be of steel, and flesh may be made of stuff even tougher than that, but blood flowed all the same, and a mind bereft of the crimson ichor fell into the blackness of nightmares and dreams easily enough.

It was clear to anyone watching that Amaryllis was faster than Shona. But that hardly meant the crystalline knight was done for. Shona was not spinning for long before she drove her sword int the earth below her. It was no longer a matter of strength of speed, but leverage. Shona was a heavy projectile, and she wasn't going to budge an inch with her sword stopping her momentum. The crystal edge of her sword cracked and flexed, but she managed to stop herself. If one was close enough, they might have heard Shona groan in agony. But she didn't stop moving. With the chain wrapped tightly around Amaryllis's wrist, she wasn't able to free herself before Shona's next trick. With her hand still on her sword, she curled up her legs and pulled her body away from Amaryllis, causing her to be pulled forward. With her opponent stumbling, Shona planted her feet on the ground and took off running towards her opponent, tugging her sword out of the ground. the champion gripped her blade with both hands and attempted to run her opponent through.

Her chain had begun to rust almost immediately, but even then, the uncommon fortitude of the Champion exceeded her expectations. Yanked forward by might she had no means of overcoming, Amaryllis stumbled for a fatal instance, and in that instant, exposed her navel to a killing blow.

But where the wielder erred, the weapon corrected.

Phantasmal pain bloomed in warning before blood could truly be shed, and as that agonizing foreknowledge shook her frame, the Rose Knight responded admirably, contorting her body sideways while arching her back, the pose maintainable only through acrobatic training and superhuman core strength. At the same time, her sword arm swung back, before an eloquent rapier thrust manifested from behind her, with the same technical prowess and daredevil confidence of professional pool players alike.

A behind-the-back shot sailed over the greatsword in a counter-strike that aimed for the same fracture her strikes had created before.

And she hit. Her blade sunk into Shona's flesh again, going deeper than it ever had before. Amaryllis could feel a bit of resistance as the blade attempted to pierce the armor on Shona's back, but it eventually punctured both her armor and the crystal enchantment. The transparent layer around Shona completely crumbled away, and her sword fell from her hands. But she was still moving forward, roaring like an inhuman beast. Amaryllis had peerless speed, but Shona had peerless tenacity.

The champion's hands were moving as soon as they released her sword. Her left hand came up to trap Amaryllis's sword inside of her own flesh, and her right hand seemed to grip the air and swing upwards. The empty space in her right hand turned into a crystalline dagger, which would cut across the tendons in Amaryllis's wrist if she remained in the way.

“I acknowledge your tenacity.”

It swung down, the final blow from her reflection and her opposite.

“But if you sought to protect the guiltless, you should have started with evacuation.”

The Knight of Rose closed her eyes, and, embedded within the champion’s flesh, the Sword squirmed. Savored. Screamed.

Screamed of the song eldritch, of the newborn that clawed out of its mother’s womb, of the monster that replaced the man amongst a field of broken roses.

Shona seemed to be nigh-impervious to the weapon shaking inside her intestines, But the sudden scream caused her to briefly loosen her grip. That was all it took for Amaryllis to slide her wrist out of the way. Shona's knife would still cut across her fingers, but the wound was not as bad as it could have been; the knight of rose could still hold her sword. The two stood a good distance apart. Shona's sword still laid on the ground, and her torso was filled with holes. Amaryllis's fingers were dripping with blood. But they were both able to stand in perfect form, despite their injuries.

Before either of them could make another move, the giant horror made its presence known. Both knights briefly glanced at the distraction, then at each other. Shona was first to speak. ”My queen and her vassals takes priority over all else, but perhaps there are better uses of our time than fighting each other.“ She scooted her foot under her sword and kicked it into her hands. ”I will withdraw from this fight, but I will not hesitate to fight you again in the future.“ After delivering her warning, Shona headed away from Amaryllis and the horror. It was impossible to tell if she planned on fully retreating, but it did seem like she was headed towards the remaining civilians.

“Throw down your gauntlet as many times as you wish, Champion,” Amaryllis turned, the amethyst glow of her rosary soon reducing that slight wound to nothing at all, “I will be glad to dance with you whenever you desire.”

A flick of the wrist scattered the blood of the warrior off her hungering blade, the rapier of a mirror polish once more, and the Knight of Rose turned. This stadium was too small for a duel between two greats, and the situation had escalated too far to indulge in extravagant verisimilitudes, for the creature that laid before her, pulsating its lesser brethren, was a true titan.

“Lesser Brethren of the Maiden’s Master, steel your resolve and speak what prayers you may. The moment you have trespassed upon the realm of man is the moment that your bell has began to toll.”

She raised her sword, flourishing it as petals danced to an unfelt wind.

“What is reflected within my Silverlight is not the value of your soul, but the eradication of your being.”

And each of her steps echoed with the gravitas of a chiming clock tower.

One by one by one.

Elroy slid to a stop as soon as the giant horror made an appearance. ”It's a bird, it's a plane, no! It's a Kaiju from another dimension!" Elroy had just enough time to finish talking before one of Penny's Gauss shots exploded, hurling the boy backwards. ”That was cheaper than instant ramen!" He cackled before crashing into a few seats. Only his legs were visible, as well as the smoke from his smoldering uniform.

"It looks like they were able to successfully evacuate Annabelle." one of Regina's dark mortars soared towards Elroy's possition and exploded, creating a dome of darkness. Several more followed it, each one blowing up a bit further back than the last. Once they had all detonated, they created several suspended domes of darkness that ran from the back of the stadium to the seats Elroy had landed in. When the darkness faded, Regina and Elroy would be gone. OR WOULD THEY!!??!?!

Tonya seemed to have joined her sisters in helping evacuate the remaining civilians. Alexander would soon be surrounded by wounded victims as the beacon buddies continued to assist with the evacuation.

“I've actually never watched K-on, but I always wanted to. However, I have played in a band before.” Jessica walked a bit closer to Lily, her grin widened as the space between them shrank.

Vanessa also walked closer to Lily. ”We actually have our own band.”

“Just the two of us” Jessica was getting closer still.

”We've played at live venues before.” Again, Vanessa mirrored Jessica and walked closer.

“I'm unstoppable on guitar.”

”I'm unbeatable on the drums.”

“Vanessa has a nice singing voice.”

“Jessica has the grace of a dancer.”

Jessica took Lily's left hand. “We could play in a band together.”

“We could join a music club together.” Vanessa squeezed Lily's right hand.

Directly in front of them was the entrance way to the Gym. Instead of pushing through though, the two girls stopped. They simultaneously released Lily's hand and looked at her. Their expressions were grave. Jessica folded her arms. “But before any of that can happen...”

Vanessa placed her hands on her hips. “What instrument are you going to play?”

Another news article from the Penrose Independent was avalable. The material was rather interesting. The eventual trial of Janet Howell was something that Veronica was personally waiting to see. However, the cloak and dagger nature of her organization made it impossible to get updates quickly. The coin broker had to wonder how Beacon felt about the loose lipped reporter that tipped off the Independent. If the time stamp was anything to go by, they hadn't even waited a full twenty-four hours to come forward with this footage. It was hard to say who was more careless in this particular scenario. Provided what she was seeing actually happened. After the last article, it was hard to take anything the independent delivered at face value. It would be interesting to see once she had confirmed with her own sources.

More interesting than the surprise direction of the trial was how the independent treated it. Veronica worked with spies by trade, and a lot could be learned from the type of information one chooses to display, as well as the information one requests. Counter-interrogations where a captured spy tries to learn all about what their captors know is a very real thing. Penrose Independent was always sharing reports with the public, and reading into these stories weaved a narrative about their underlying goals. It was impossible to tell for sure based on what little Veronica had read, but there was a pattern already forming between yesterdays story and this one. Yesterday's story was a smear story about how Beacon didn't do anything to help the people of Penrose during the spirit attack. The fact that it turned out to be a farce is irrelevant. Today's story was also about Beacon, but it was praising the new direction it took. At a glance, this might seem like the independent is simply trying to report the truth, and seems to favor stories about Beacon. But there is a motive here. Stories that villainize Beacon or give hope for their change are likely aimed at particular demographic. With this information, it was safe to assume that the Penrose Independent was likely made up of monster/DMG sympathizers, if thy weren't dark magical girls and monsters themselves. But this was all gathered at a glance. Further study would be necessary to learn anything about the information.

But this was all a game to keep her mind off of the current situation, which she was powerless to do much about. She was sitting in the very same office Binky had been in last night. After she left, several other subjects who were part of project scarlet escaped. Since Betty had destroyed all of Binky's clones, she didn't have the required manpower to deal with an escape attempt.

“Betty.” Veronica sighed. “I understand you're done examining everything?”

”Um.” She swallowed. ”The remaining subjects are content to continue with the experiments. It seems like the six that wanted to escape were working alone.” She hugged herself. ”But you really didn't need to hear it from me, did you?”

Veronica stood up from the desk. “We have somewhere to be now.” She placed a police officer's hat on her head “Seems they're calling all units to the stadium. You get to be my partner today.”

Betty twiddled her thumbs. ”B-but Binky probably needs our help! The escapees were all really angry with him for some reason!”

“Binky did a lot to forward the research of the red coin, and for that I am grateful.” Veronica put on a jacket. “But what I am most concerned about at the moment is that I have lost contact with Sil. She must be recovered.” Veronica stepped past Betty. “Eliza told me she was headed towards the cathedral. That's where Binky ran off to, so she should be there to protect her.”

Betty hung her head and walked after Veronica. ”O-okay.”

“And another thing.” Veronica continued to walk, but looked over her shoulder at Betty. “Eliza was attacked by a dragon girl yesterday.” She looked straight ahead. “If you spot something like that, you have my permission to eliminate it with extreme prejudice.”

Betty only sighed in response, swiftly dawning her police officer guise.
I want to make a quick rec to everyone here and reading this thread!

Give HBO's The Wire and/or AMC's Breaking Bad a shot if you haven't already. Fantastic shows. Absolute pinnacles of television dramas.

Breaking Bad is that show everyone knows about, and it's good.

Mono paused and looked over his shoulder at Ashton. He waited for the boy to explain everything.

”I do not see why anyone would want to kill a bunch of foreigners. However...” Mono turned completely around, this time looking at Aer. ”He was present when they were discovered?”

Aer steeled herself with a cough. "He approached them, yes. They also appear to have a meteor on them that he took interest in. He would definitely be useful to have around during an interrogation, I would think."

Mono eyed everyone present, then looked at Wisp. ”I hope for your sake, that this isn't all a fucking ruse to escape again. You're going right back to her after this.” Mono gestured for the knight originally accompanying the group to go back into the guild hall. ”Seems we'll all be travailing together. Isn't that nice?” It seemed that Ashton was able to convince Mono to at least let Wisp accompany them to the end of their interrogation. But he didn't look like he was going to let go of the demi-human any time soon.

Mie didn't get far before she was spotted by Dr Donovan. He was running a towel over his hands, likely having just washed up after handling a patient. With the bandits around, it seemed like someone was getting hurt every hour. Fortunately few of the attacks seemed to be very serious. ”Why hello there.” Mie and Donovan knew of each other, but they hadn't personally spoken very much. She was a travailing merchant, and Donovan occasionally needed supplies. Usually his water magic was strong enough to heal most wounds, but there was a time where he needed to buy a bottle of alcohol from Mie to disinfect several wounded patients. ”I don't see you're cart with ya.” He smiled. ”Could it be that ya just enjoyin' the sights today?”

Fritzi noted the other's efforts with just as much enthusiasm. ”Hmm, your magics seems to be a bit stronger.” She shrugged her shoulders. ”Unfortunately, not everyone's gate is created equal.” Her ears perked up when Hiro informed her of what he'd like to be called. ”You don't like Noble? I guess I can call you Hiro if that's what everyone else is doing.” She turned her back to everyone. ”I'll be upstairs if anyone needs anything.” And in a flash, she vanished from sight.

While Aerith and Alistair remained inside, Hiro stepped out with one of the chairs. He might have been surprised to find that the pick up crew was already there. A woman in a dirty cloak was walking a hand driven cart in front of the house, where she eventually stopped. She made no sudden movements, nor did she speak. She simply stood their watching Hiro from a distance. Her gaze revealed nothing about her intentions, which made her presence a bit unsettling.

"Hiro?" she folded her arms. "Do you know why I'm here?"

The monks that Aer had run into didn't respond, instead casting their gazes into the crowd of people following her. She gave a roll of her eyes when Flame explained how they had met before. "No one is going to punish you on account of being a coward. We have laws to prevent that type of behavior. And stop talking like you're going to be executed. That's what Wisp and I are here for." She looked back to the monks. "They're not familiar with things around here. They're from very far away. If they crossed you, I hope you can forgive them. They are not bad people." Aer pressed forth, sensing it probably wasn't best to stay in this area much longer. While she walked, she addressed the others in her group. "I'm just trying to learn as much about the situation as I can. I can't confirm it was cultist activity, but teleportation magic of this nature is difficult to cast." She groaned. "This Earth kingdom, I haven't even heard of it before. It doesn't even sound real." With a shake of her head, Aer looked back at her companions. "Cultists are often run by an archbishop, which have horrible powers called authorities. While it isn't the only thing capable of such powerful teleportation, it is the most suspect at the moment."

It did not take Aer long to find the group of knights standing outside the old guild hall. She was stopped, but she had to do was show them her adventurer's license to get their attention. "I heard Mono is interested in witch related phenomenon. These people behind me are unarmed and-" Aer didn't get much further before Mono came out of the building.

”I am very fucking busy right-” Mono suddenly stopped speaking when he saw the group of people standing behind Aer. ”Who are they?”

"They are foreigners that were teleported into Priestella. They come from a far away kingdom called Earth. I have brought them to you so that you can question them yourself and they can get legal documentation to live and work here." She gestured behind herself. "They are unarmed, and chose to come see you knowing that they might be punished or executed. But they are harmless, Wisp and I can vouch for them."
But Mono was only partially listening to Aer. His eyes were locked on Wisp, and his hands were balled into fists. ”Wisp, the west point of the compass?” Mono's hands were trembling. Anyone looking at Aer's face could see her pupils visibly dilate at the mention of that name. Even the nearby knights started talking to each other in hushed whispers. ”You should still be with Sandra Fotos, should you not?”

Aer took a step folward. "Mono?"

”The foreigners will be taken back to the Hero's district. You will accompany one of my men, who will give each of them an interrogation. They will be given documentation based on the results.” Mono reached out and seized the feline by the scruff of the neck, hoisting Wisp into the air. ”I happen to know Sandra Fotos and Sir Walter are meeting together, and she's been very eager to track you down.” He was growling. ”The rest of you can continue to investigate the guild hall. I don't want a single one of those fucking devil beasts spared!”

And just like that, the knights all ran back inside the guild hall. A single knight waved Aer and the other to follow him, while Mono took a different road leading past the Hero's district. Aer seemed to be at a loss cas to what to do, as her eyes darted between the knight and Mono. "I guess we're going to get you all permits, right?" Aer adjusted her hood and started to walk after the knight, occasionally glancing towards Wisp. "A shame we have to abandon Wisp though."

Su did not understand the metal girl's fighting style enough to discern why her hand was smaller after the attack. But her own mastery over wind gave her an idea of what was going on. Su was able to detect the floating particles behind her back without even looking. It didn't take a very bright person to realize that she was being cornered between a wall of projectiles and a very sturdy magical girl. It was a recipe for a very nasty looking pincer attack. Her opponent was relentless, and Su was going to have to be more forceful if she wanted to get through. She had hoped to hold onto all that magical energy she was storing, but that didn't look possible in this situation.

Su landed on the ground in a horse stance and thrust her fists out in either direction. The gusts of wind were proportionate to the incoming threat. The gale that Su threw towards the incoming metal knives was just strong enough to knock them off course, while the brunt of Su's might was directed at the metal bunny girl. She was heavy, but Su's super charged air burst was strong enough to push the metal girl back. It would not be incorrect to say Su was attempting to smash the bunny girl with a wall of wind. Few things could force their way past such a gale, and Su's opponent wasn't one of them. She immediately charged towards the metal magical girl, which caused the wall of wind to smash her into the opposing wall, possibly through it. ”We can flirt later.” Su jumped through the hole in the floor and attempted to advance past her opponent. She was aware of her opponents ability to smash through walls and extend their limbs now, so she wouldn't try to advance directly under them.

Mika did not have a great time after plowing through the skeletons. They were able to reform into powerful creatures and form a counter attack. The wheel skeletons were troublesome because of the hit stun how easily they knocked her down so that other skeletons could approach uncontested. Before long, Mika was completely surrounded. She had limited options when surrounded like this, and shifting her entire body into a giant animal was powerful, but taxing on her mana. Things were looking grim, but Mika knew this wasn't the end. There was too much left she had to do. She needed to make Su and Helga happy, she needed to find that mysterious girl who shared a meal with her, she needed to defeat Penny. This couldn't be the end.

And she was right.

Skeletons started crumbling and exploding around Mika. She couldn't tell what was causing it to happen, but was pleased regardless. The only thing Mika could think of was that she must have a secret admirer, protecting her when she needed it most. ”That has to be it!” She was being protected by a tuxedo mask, or a mysterious racer X. She could hear someone else skating through the skeletons. ”Reinforcements are here! Hahaha!” She lunged at one of the skeletons that were trying to box her in. Before it could react, her head transformed into that of a great wolf and claimed onto its skull. She crushed it her jaw as soon as her feet landed on the other side. It clearly wasn't enough to just attack them. Perhaps if she broke their bones instead of blowing them apart it might have a different effect. One could hope. Otherwise, her admirer would probably protect her. But that was sort of embarrassing.

Elroy shrugged his shoulders when Rina stepped away from the roof edge. Once she was out of Elroy's field of view, he placed a hand on his hip. ”I know you're still there, mop head!" But a bright flash from the center of the stadium caused Elroy to turn and face the newly arrived group. ”Is that my good friend mecha girl I see?" The chairs he was holding up with his magic fell to the ground. ”We get to have a round two! And I might actually remember some of it this time!" If Elroy was much closer to Penny, he might not have been able to get out of the way of her gauss shot in time. But with him near the top edge of the grand stands, and her down in the center of the stadium, He had enough time to simply step out of the way. It slammed into the back most wall, and turned the metal roof Rina was standing on into scrap. Elroy did not actually look over his shoulder to confirm if Rina had moved or not. She was not as interesting as his new target. ”Wait right there!" Elroy promptly dropped his shield and hopped on top of it. His metal magic let him surf down the steps in an attempt to get to the center of the stadium. He occasionally used his magic to shadow step through shadows hidden under the bench seats. He wouldn't be an easy target for most, but it would take him some time to get to Penny's position.

Regina's mobility was limited by the daylight, but the upper most ring of the stadium was sufficiently dark thanks to the roof that almost encompassed the entire thing. Regina left one of her dark projectiles in one spot, shadow step elsewhere in the ring, before leaving another. Her veil of invisibility would make her hard to spot, or hear. But once she move away from a spot, it would be possible to spot the nebulous shadow spheres she was leaving behind. Difficult, but possible. She repeated this process again, and again, and again.

"Almost..."

Shona turned just in time to spot Sil, but she was moving so fast, the knight could only barely form a proper defense. She raised her sword to deflect the incoming blow, but between Sil's time magic and enhanced abilities, she was able to easily maneuver around the sword and stab her knife directly through Shona's chest, armor and all. The thrust was so strong that it threw the knight backwards, tumbling end over end. She managed to get her feet under herself to prevent from sliding further backward. Annabelle was able to erect a wall in front of Sil, which the enraged assassin beat upon with unending fury. It would not hold much longer. She briefly looked at the newly arrived beacon girls out of the corner of her eye. ”Sally?” She chuckled to herself. ”Good to see more beacon reinforcements in the area.” Shona gripped her sword in both hands and charged towards Amaryllis. ”Sisters! Sally has arrived with reinforcements!” Shona's sword surged with energy, and when it released, it formed a transparent crystal edge around the perimeter of her weapon. ”Let's show them that a Beacon's spark...” A similar energy was released from Shona's armor, which made it considerably thicker. None of these enhancements slowed her down. ”...Shines brightest before the dawn!” With a war cry, Shona attempted to sweep the blade through Amaryllis's legs. It likely wasn't an unexpected attack, given the distance Shona had to travel, but the power might have been. The gusts of wind left in the blade's wake were enough to throw one off balance.

Tonya only got angrier when Alexander walked away from her. ”Hey! There is nothing political about this!” She drummed her fists against the back of his head. ”Quit being so indecisive, you fluffy eared prick! There's plenty of monsters to beat up.” She huffed and lowered her arms. ”W-well whatever! Go cry or something!” Tonya promptly took flight and soared into the heavens. Or was she flying straight for Rita?

Before Amaryllis even used her magic, Divina's eyes shot wide open. ”Abigail, be careful with Annabelle!”

Abigail raised an eyebrow. ”Is there a reason?” Annabelle's stump suddenly sprouted chains, which raced back to Amaryllis's hands. ”Ahhh, I see now.”

The verbal warning did little to prepare Abigail for what was about to happen, But Divina was able to grab a hold of Annabelle and spread her wings to at least slow her decent. Still, Amaryllis was a reasonably strong magical girl with leverage on her side. Divina was only delaying the inevitable. ”I can't hold her much longer!”

”Meh.” Abigail started to dive. ”I really didn't want to use this.” Just as Divina and Annabelle were about to fall beside Auelio. Abigail landed between all three of them. ”Later, suckers!” A pulse of gravity expanded outward from the haughty magical girl, before collapsing into nothingness. It would seem that the magical boy and three girls had been crushed out of existence. But what actually happened was much stranger...

Auelio, Abigail, Annabelle, and Divina tumbled into a strange space. The floor was covered in a checkerboard pattern, which seemed to stretch and bend over the alien landscape. Abigail promptly threw her fists into the air. ”I did it! My shift to the overcity was successful! Hahahahahaha!” She pointed at Divina. ”Alright, I think this is a safe place to do that thing.”

”Right.” Divina folded her hands together and kneeled. She seemed to be calm at the moment, while Abigail was dripping with excitement.

”Hahahahahaha!” She spun on her heel and looked at Auelio. ”You must be new. I don't remember you, but you came in with Sally and that useless cyborg, so you're from Beacon. Sorry I wasn't there to welcome you into the club! I wonder why that rapier girl threw Annabelle at you?” She extended her hand towards the boy. ”My name is Abigail, by the way.” She averted her eyes. ”But you can call me 'sis' if it's easier to remember.”

It seemed these were beacon girls, but if Amaryllis was to be believed, they were protecting someone who was very dangerous. What would he do?

The detective clapped her hands together. “Hmmm, yes, I suspected you would make that pose and introduce yourself.” She folded her arms. “I'm Sammy the supah sleuth. And this girl that's gradually getting away is Binky. She's an evil criminal mastermind.” Sammy observed the rope that was hauling Binky away. “Even though this appears to be some strange form of cartoon logic, apparently it's 'fourth wall' magic. The two do not relate in any sensible way, but my deductions are never wrong.” Sammy looked back at Speedwagon. “I am a bit disappointed that Beacon would choose to ally themselves with a nefarious criminal, but I know it will not end well. Because that girl is going to tell Binky that she is Beacon, which will cause her to freak out.”

Sure enough, Summer told Binky that she was a Beacon girl, and Binky immediately started to panic. ”I don't think I'm safe here! Um, uh, bye!” Binky took off running as fast as her high heels would let her.

Sammy was pushing her cats into position. “Brief interlude, that one with the bow is going to shoot a barrage of arrows at us. I am unable to deduce why at this time. As long as you're standing in the right spot, every arrow will miss.” Sammy gave Speedwagon a shove just as the arrows flew past them, narrowly missing both magical girls and every cat. “Alright, let me gain my bearings” She placed a hand on her head. “Avoiding the shot seems to have changed some things.”

By this point the fear magic was starting to set in. Its power was most notable in Binky, who was already screaming in terror. ”Everything is horrible! Why bother existing at all!?” Binky closed her eyes as tight as she could and whaled into the heavens. It wasn't clear if she stumbled, or simply ran off the edge of the cathedral, but she tumbled off the edge of the roof and landed in a heap. This time, she didn't create anything soft to land on. But there was so much adrenaline pumping through her system that she was able to stand up and keep running, only to stumble and fall into a thorny rose bush.

Sammy was feeling it a bit too. Her face was visibly pale, and she was using a handkerchief to wipe away the sweat running down her face. “W-well, my mark appears to be gradually escaping.” Sammy took a deep breath and walked past Speedwagon. “I can't think straight, can't, deduce, much.” She took a deep breath, but made no attempt to face Speedwagon. “I'm not sure now is a good time to keep up a conversation.” She swallowed. “Do what you will, I just have to catch my mark.” The felines on the other hand seemed unaffected by the dread that was targeting the magical girls, and quietly followed the detective.

Mac grit her teeth, but she wasn't going to cave under the effects of some fear magic. She redoubled her efforts to assist with elimination of the witches. Alicia's bombardment would look even more terrifying with Mac's assistance, and when the word of pain spell hit, she would assist with her gravity magic.

Helping Beacon was not something that gave Mac any joy, but there was little she could really do about it. It was this, or risk harm to many innocent human lives.

Vanessa immediately folded her hands over her chest when Lily mentioned their outfits looked good, and let go of a breath she didn't know she had been holding. The Rockett sisters gave each other a small nod before turning back to face Lily. Vanessa was the first to speak. “Sure, we're new here ourselves.”

“New to Penrose even!” Jessica leaned her head on her sister's shoulder. “Unfortunate we don't have the same class. Boo!”

“Regardless, the gym sounds like an excellent idea. Let's head there together.” Vanessa walked on Lily's right. “I wonder why we're all gathering at the gym though? I've never done anything like this before.”

Jessica walked on Lily's left. “Maybe we're going to play a game? Some basketball would be cool! Though jamming out on guitar would be even better!”

Vanessa grinned. “I doubt they have musical instruments set up, but it would be nice to practice on a fancy drum kit. I'm looking forward to music class.”

“Tell me about it!” Jessica leaned in towards Lily. “What do you hope to do on your first day of school?”

Upon walking out of their rooms, the infinites on the first floor would notice some changes. For one, the entrance to the resort had been blocked off. It seemed like various items from the resort had been piled up against the exit way, barring that as an exit. There were also some strange contraptions set up along the floor of the narrow hallway. They appeared to have fertilizer, unscented soap, and batteries worked into their construction. They could have been described better, but the GM didn't want to get put on an FBI watch list. Unlike warpy. Standing at the other end of the hall, the only exit offered to them, was Denis. He seemed to be wearing more of these devices, and had a detonator in his hand.

”Wait here, no one hurt.” Denis had an unusually stern look on his face.

The speakers cracked to life with Thomas's voice. " Those of you still on the second floor, or still hiding in your rooms on the first floor, please join the other hostages in the hallway of the patient's quarters. The faster we get this over with, the faster we can remove the mastermind from power."

Jezebel stepped out of her room. “Like, double-you-tee-eff?” She ran for the first floor as quickly as she could.

Mono didn't respond to Mirt's words, and simply turned around to continue directing the knights around. Anyon and Mirt had only taken a few steps outside before they noticed a large congregation of people moving in their direction.

Aer was still considering what she had been told. "Does this unknown country you come from have a name?" Are brought her hand to her chin. "Regardless, if these were cultists, the only love they could possibly be talking about is the love of the witch of pride. Do they think you're capable of becoming archbishops I wonder?" Aer looked over her shoulder at her group. "Did anyone chant the word shammack? If there was a dark spell involved of some kind, there's a chance someone would have said something like that." Aer nearly bumped into the monks, but managed to spot them first. "Excuse me, have either of you seen Mono? I heard he was headed in this direction to purge a possible cult dwelling."

Aerith was able to summon a cloud of dark spores, to which Fritzi clapped along to. ”You cast a spell! Great!” She placed a hand on her chin, keeping her pinkie extended. ”It's... a little underwhelming, but I'm sure you'll get better with practice.” She turned to the other two. ”What's the matter guys? You're not scared are you? Or perhaps you're just a little distracted?” She giggled. ”Alright Aerith, I don't think your magic is going to be very useful for cleaning. But that's why I brought lots of buckets, and tons of washcloths! There's also a pitcher pump out back if Alestair can't figure his magic out.” She glared at the blond man before stepping into the next room. ”Just clean whatever! You can also set damaged or ill repaired furniture outside. Someone should be coming by to replace or repair that stuff later today.”
