Ferrin Astra


Ferrin was all pumped and ready for a fight, but then the thing up and ran. "Oh no you don't!" Ferrin snarled, his emotionless facade breaking. He charged after it, flaming sword oustreched. But at the last moment, if slid through the bone dome. Ferrin's thrust sank his sword a foot or so in the bone and stopped. "Damn." He swore. With a jerk, he pulled his sword out, and with a thought, extinguished the flame. He breifly glanced at the light mage, but he seemed to be whole. So, Ferrin left him alone.

Ferrin glanced around the intirior. A fine mess I've gotten myself into. A Shadow mage, and a necromancer. However, I do not think that this is the same Necomancer I am looking for. His magic is differnt, and he did not seem to be concerned with me. Still, I aught to help. He thought. However, a portion of his mind said, why bother? It was none of his business. Its the right thing to do. Turning my back on this would be an insult to Fairy Tail's legacy. That thought disturbed him slightly. For something to have a legacy it had to be dead, right? He discarded the thought. Whatever, he did not have time for a philosophical meandering.

Alright, the next step is... "You know, it is a little musty, in here." Ferrin said, conversationaly, as he walked to the dome wall. He set the palm of his Gauntlet against the bone, and concentrated. "I guess I should open a window! Forzare!" He shouted, pushing his palm forward. A blast of kinetic force rippled down his Gauntlet and a massive section of the dome exploded outward, leaving a hole large enough for even a tall person like Ferrin to step through without ducking. Sunlight blazed in, killing or hurting any of the shadow beasts in its way.

Ferrin took a deep breath, and exhaled. "Ah, fresh air." He said. With that done, he turned around and approched the little dome. He telekineisis was innefectual; He could not feel the thought of anyone in the dome. Hmm...I might be able to blast through it, but if I did, I may hit someone... He thought. Ferrin raised his sword, and executed a whirlwind of slashes on it, making quite a racket. Each individual slash did little, but left a scrach. He concentrated them in an X, each one deepening the stroke. Soon, there were substantial gouges.

"I have always wanted to do this." Ferrin remarked, aloud. He lifted his Gauntlet and banged on the dome hard. "Little pig, little pig, let me in..." He chanted. Then, he drew back his fist and gathered magic in it. "Or I will huff...and I will puff..." He gathered more magic, "...and I will blow your house in! On 'blow' his Gauntlet let out a blast from the elbow that propelled it forward, then Ferrin released the aether-enhanced kinetic magic he had been gathering in a blast of pure force on impact. Whatever magic that may defend the dome, he was sure he could break it.

@Crimson RavenFerrin will find himself ignored, which'll probably piss him off more than being attacked. As for the Grimoire, Argus' kinda has one and it's the source where he learned his magic. It's also host to a demonic spirit of hatred, bloodlust, and malice.

Not to mention, the wild card in all this is Ferrin. He is going to aim for Nidhogg, because side-plot reasons. But, there's the Shadow guy who ran away, he might decide to give chase.

Ok, people, I'd like not to do this, but given the low activity I guess this is time for the most dreaded part of any RP. A roll call.

So, who's still in this and who wants to quit? Be sincere, I just want some feedback so that @TheWindel and I can know what we are dealing with and plan things accordingly.

I also want to put my input too since you're also finding the lesser shadows. Although they're not as strong as the previous one that was big, there are still more scurrying around inside the dome and mostly likely going to try and go after Ferrin and Lux for posing the most threat to them.

Also a little note as well. Since Ferrin is sensitive to the magic around him, Shutler and his shadows won't entirely feel like the usual magic that a typical wizard or their magic has. You could say that it almost feels like magic, perhaps synthetic, real, or a combination. It's a bit hard to explain lol.


Alright. Ferrin is a little too on edge to focus too much, but if he does get a chance, I'll add that in.

Err...eh, read my post, and tell me if I did too much. Although, note that Ferrin's whole body is Aether-ehanced, giving him speed, strength, and resistance to injury.

Half of the people there seemed hell-bent on killing Ferrin, and they hadn't even got to know him first. THEN they probably would want to kill him. Or strangle him...then kill him. "Hey, Ferrin said to no one in particular. "I went trough all the trouble of a flashy entrance, and not a one of you even seem to care. How typical." Ferrin immediately noticed that the hole he had so gratiously made in the dome had been rudely repaired. On top of that, some cliche villan popped up, and spouted some nonsense (which Ferrin filed away) before doing what typical villans do, summon up some half-assed minions and running for their life. However, in doing so, Ferrin felt the magic, and it seemed identical to the one that lead him here...not to mention the smaller copies of the shadow beast seemed like a dead giveaway.

However, one of the mages suddenly acted, kicking another, and raising some undead. Ferrin immediately recognized necromancy, which also explained the bone dome. This was backed by his manipulation of the substance. (Another dead giveaway, badump-ching) He shook his head to clear his thoughts. This is no time for levity. He was in danger, and he had to act fast.

However, suddenly Ferrin found himself rooted to the ground. His breathing sped up, and he had trouble thinking straight. What...what the...what the hell? He felt trapped, and claustrophobic. The big monster cam roaring at him, whitch jolted Ferrin into motion. He hurredly lept to the side, narrowly avoiding the spike that he didn't see coming from his back. Whats wrong with me? He thought. Then, it came to him. It was just like that time... Then, too it smelled of damp, and rot, with undead coming at him, covered in shadow... Then, he was trapped, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to think...he fell into darkness, and lost everything he knew.

Ferrin broke out in cold sweat. "Dammit, dammit, dammit, I rule my fears, they don't rule me!" He shouted. But his body was unconvinced. The corpses were coming in fast, and the shadow beasts where closing in too. Ferrin thew out his Gauntlet, gesturing toward the shadow beasts. "Illumina!" He exclaimed. A blast of light flew toward each of the the beasts, and burst on contact, dissolving them. With the shadow beasts gone, Ferrin and the other mage was able to focuse on the corpses.

Doing his best to ignore his sudden, irrational fear, Ferrin ran toward the biggest one. Summoning his concentration, Ferrin shouted "Requip!" and Shiden EX, his sword, appeared in his hand. The monster roared and took a swipe at him. Ferrin remembered that night, and hesitated, for just a moment, and that cost him. The thing's arm hit him, like a truck and he was flung against the wall of the dome. His spell-lined coat protected him from most of the physical impact, and prevented the claws from piercing him, but it still hurt like hell.

The shock and pain helped jolt Ferrin out of the past, and summoning up his magic, he put his fear to good use in a spell. Fortunately, the other mage lent a hand by slowing them down and hurting them with his light magic, giving Ferrin time to recover his wits. He took a step forward, and wheezed "Sword magic: Flare." The blade of his sword turned red and orange, then combusted. Flames sprung to life and danced along its length, in a beautiful display, also having the side effect of lighting up the area around him. The two corpses charged, thinking their prey was cornered.

But Ferrin was done playing around.

His face, a calm, expressionless mask, eerily void of the passion it usualy showed, Ferrin ran forward to meet them. The smaller one reached for him, but Ferrin gracefully sidestepped, spun and in the same motion, swepped his sword up. The thing's arm flew off, and the smell of cauterized flesh filled the air. Ferrin's next stroke came from behind it, and severed the ghoul's top from it's body. From bitter experience, Ferrin knew the durablity of creatures like that, so he didn't let his guard down as the top half tried to claw him. Ferrin stepped back, out of the range of it's flailing arms, and dispached it by thrusting his firebrand into its head, setting it ablaze, and ending it's unlife. The big one was still coming, and Ferrin oriented on it. He ran to meet it, sword held out, and parallel to the ground with the flames trailing behind it. His next attack would be similar to the smallar one, he would wait for it to attack, counter, and then dispach it.
