Aerith Hastings

Here We Go Again: Part III Death is Unbreakable, Suttling's Basin, Priestella

@Ryofu@Rune_Alchemist@Althiel@BrokenPromise

Aerith had hidden behind Irene, clinging onto the other girl in a genuine manner. It was almost pathetic, like a scared child clinging to hope and to their mother in the face of something terrifying. But it was not this mob that was the thing that scared Aerith the most, or got under her skin right now.

It was the memories.

Spears impaling her body repeatedly, their cold, potentially rusted metals gouging, piercing, tearing mercilessly into parts of her she had never truly "felt" before this moment. Her own hand, reaching out in futility to try to stop them, to grasp something, to pull out the spear in desperation....but yet it was too weak, too frail, too drained of that precious lifeblood flowing out of her body as the taste of iron had filled her mouth and soaked her taste buds in that grinding metallic sensation. The life, seeping from every hole and gaping maw of her body, even as her eyes struggled to stay open and her body had succumbed to the gnawing, gnashing, in a sense creeping cold of death as the warmth of life had left her loins.

It was a scene that would haunt her all her days.

"Stay behind me, alright? Please worry not. I won't let any harm occur to you."

Those words and smile gave her some real hope, hope these two would be alive, hope herself and Hiro and Chieko would remain alive this time....for as long as they could manage. Hope she could find out who had loved her so much as to want her to be there.

But before more of these thoughts could continue on, Irene seemed to go into a "state" of some kind, a sort of focusing state? It seemed somewhat familiar to her to what a swimmer might do during a competition, that "mode" one seemed to take on when training and determination met focus and a desired goal in front of them. It was almost....fascinating how Irene seemed to do this, though, and as Aerith focused on her briefly she listened to what the ruby-orbed girl said.

"El Shamak"

The words sent a thrum of...something through Aerith's body, her bones even. Perhaps a shiver? A resonance with her by some mysterious means? Maybe it was just a reaction to seeing this....magic, of all things, used to suddenly stop an entire mob in one uttered phrase without any further actions? She had no idea, but the words felt interesting as she mouthed them behind the back of Irene. Not saying them, but thinking on them herself, focusing on them and that pronunciation Irene had used.

It was like one of those moments a person would always remember from then on, that abnormally strong sensation at the moment where they got the feeling of "i'll remember this" for no apparent reason at the time.

As Vasilis and Irene checked out and rounded up the defeated bandits, Aerith ran over to where Hiro and Chieko were. Though before she could say a word, her breaths still a little panting from the prior panic of "those" memories they had all three perhaps just experienced a short time ago, the two knights seemed to turn and talk to them again. As the other two answered, Aerith used the sleeve of her shirt to wipe off some sweat and take a few deep breaths. She even heard Vasilis give his small explanation as she watched Chieko talk to him breifly, though she could tell something was "off" about the other girl....and rightfully so based on what had happened to the three of them.

"My name is Aerith. I am pleased to meet you both, and-"

It was then someone interrupted them, just as Aerith was beginning to speak up to Irene and Vasilis to introduce herself. A girl with wolfish ears and a tail, wearing suspenders. Though this struck a minor chord of panic for Aerith in her current state, as quick as the girl had appeared she seemed to leave the group again to their own devices. A bit of panic subsided at this, but overall Aerith looked back to Irene and Vasilis again, a mix of trying to be calm and polite.....but also urgent...on her part.

"-and with that i agree with Hiro that we should all relocate to a far safer place and area. Ah, swiftly perhaps, so we can all talk more without another ambush."

Truth be told her own senses were still on alert, though she kept a bit closer to Irene and Vasilis somewhat unconsciously out of a desire to stay alive. The faster they vacated the area and were safe, the better they would all be right now.
Diana Firebrand

She hadn't minded coming here to help play the part of guards with her fellow mercs when it came to this place. It was good pay, though she hadn't mentioned her rather vocal magical power to the clients in this case as a sort of "security" measure for herself. Though it was something to do, the backstabbing and being locked up was another thing altogether that left a sour taste in her mouth. She'd been stripped of her armor and her weapons and such, locked up with the others' things, though seeing the other ladies in the cell right across from hers dressed decently was a tad frustrating. Why did they get to keep their original clothes on and not herself!?

Though as Scar's familiar voice was heard as he walked over, and the other two seemed to worry about things as she listened to their conversion beforehand, a smile came to the dragon descendant's face. Ah, escape time already. She hadn't wanted to do this alone, but Scar was an ass too at times so what she would do next would be somewhat of a kick for her. Standing up in her shoddy prison rags, Diana moved over to position herself behind her own cell door.

"FUS RO DA!"

A wave of force came out as she spoke those words in the tongue of her ancestors, sending the door of her cell bursting off its hinges and slamming into the wall next to scar, inches away from his face. Nothing personal....no wait it was actually just personal, just not aimed nor meant to actually harm the guy....instead it was more to get on his nerves briefly that she could have hit him with the cell door. What was the word her parents had once used to describe this type of behavior from her? Passive-aggressive? Meh.

Though her stomach soon interrupted her thoughts with a ravenous growling. Crap, perhaps Scar was right about getting a bite to eat.

"Cmon, Scar! Keep your head in the game or you'll get hit by a cell door one day!" Diana said, getting a small chuckle out of it before walking over to Kris and Macy in the other cell, her features seeming to soften a little towards them in particular, "Hey, if there's any dreams that are gonna be made, we gotta get out of here first! Whatever's going on with those lower levels is not likely gonna help us out either, so we need to find our gear probably first."

Her hand was offered out to Kris, as if to offer a handshake or to pull her out of the cell. Though underneath Diana's attempts to be somewhat positive to her fellow mercs, there was the underlying serious nature of this that nagged at her mind.
@BrokenPromise Posted with Annabelle real quick before i hop into bed! XD

Night all. :P
Annabelle Irons

Expansion was underway in a couple of the other nearby abandoned buildings in the area. One next to the school, the other right across the street and to the left of the school. In other words, setup for an area of operations, a modest but large place within which Soth had direct influence and control. Even now the sigils, the signs, the circles and such were being drawn within the other abandoned buildings, by horrors and creatures slinking about after being brought into this world to serve their lord.

The one two buildings to the right of the school was a former home of some sort, perhaps someone who had once lived across the street from the school many years ago? Windows were either boarded up or broken, the yard overgrown like a jungle of sorts, though its overall stability had overall remained rather intact.

The other that was to the immediate right of the school and directly next to it, meanwhile, was a far longer (but still shorter than the school) abandoned building similar in shape to a gymnasium or a very old YMCA. Something that contained a large pool and similar equipment, perhaps built for the school back in its heyday for gym class and such things. In part it had been a community center, perchance, though it had been seemingly decades since its last time being used for...anything really.

INTRUDER ALERT

Elroy had gotten attention, alright. Minor horrors and beasts lurking, obscured by their lord's from notice within the school's territory that kept watch over the place for their master. The message they had was then passed along, and the entire school grounds was on alert. Defenses ready to be used, magic circles ready to activate, and....

"Ooh! You have a tail?! Awesome!" a voice cried aloud where Elroy and Regina could hear.

.....one slightly bored magical girl who had decided to barge out here in her transformed state because she had become curious about the alert.

Elroy and Regina would have seen a magical girl burst out of the front doors like she owned the place, though the gleeful smile on her face spoke a rather friendly manner. A black, inky orb was floating by her side, a fresh new one from Soth after he'd used the last one for...something. Annabelle had no idea what he had wanted to use it for, really, but she had enjoyed the burgers she'd proceeded to order up and eat. Though the third one had been interrupted by this little alert, so she'd asked the "chef" to store it in the fridge until she got back.

"Hey there! I guess its nice to see a new face around here. You look kinda cute, but sadly i'm into girls if you're here for me! What ya doin' around my boss' place here?" Annabelle said as she walked over, giggling after she spoke, as she was standing at the edge of of the border into her patron's territory...on the Soth-controlled side for fear of getting nagged by her Patron...again.

The air about Annabelle was rather tame, friendly and open even more than anything. Oddly so for the situation, but it wasn't a lie in any sense either.

Name: Diana “Schwarzwald” Firebrand

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Race: Dragon Descendant (Human)

Background: Diana’s bloodline is descended from that of the dragons, from the spawn of a dragon a human in particular. Though the draconic traits have fade over the generations, her family like many in the country of Schwarz have lingering powers in their blood (though many dragons still live there too). In particular, the ability to speak the tongue of the dragons, which is itself a form of unique magic that affects the world and made their small home nation a haven during wars for its mighty power. Firing off a wall of force, breathing fire, raising zombies, a great deal of abilities are tied to the “Tongue of the Dragons”. Mages around the world have sought to study this unique magical tongue, though only those with dragons blood among their ancestors can use it even after years of testing.

Diana herself was born into the “Firebrand” family, who lived in one of their nation’s many forests. her nickname “Schwarzwald”, came from when she nearly burnt down part of the forest whilst learning the tongue of her draconic ancestors. Always ready for a challenge, and taking strongly to the draconic tongue in both conversation and usage for its power, she eventually set off into the world at the age of 17 with an urge to explore. In this she took up the life of a mercenary eventually, and in terms of power was worth her weight in gold when her group would be negotiating with clients.

But then the current event happened. The one boon? No one thought to gag her mouth, though her other gear was taken in the process.

Personality: A stubborn, brave individual who is not afraid to speak her mind at any given time she feels the need to. Not hesitant when taking action, possessing a mighty strength of will, though many assume her dumb based on her outer aspects such as the stubbornness. In reality she is a rather intelligent individual who can read the feeling of a situation and such well, and has a soft spot for children at heart as well. As her life since leaving home has told, she is great friend to have.....but a terrible enemy to acquire.

Weapons/Gear:

-Her voice, which can have a myriad of magical effects based on what is said/“shouted” by her in the dragon tongue. Also allows her to speak with dragons and others who know the dragon language, very fluently even.

-An enchanted handheld crossbow made by a weaponsmith and enchanted by a mage during her travels, and is “her baby” when it comes to weapons. Due to the enchantment this weapon magically generates ammunition for the weapon passively. It also has a rotating ammo chamber (similar to irl revolvers) that stores up to 5 shots at a time. After firing 5 shots, however, the enchantment need some time to “regenerate” a new batch of ammunition.

However, this weapon was taken like with the weapons and such of the others in her group. Drat.

-Her armor (seen in pic above and was taken with her weapon, so she was put in prisoner rags for clothing and wears those for the moment being)

Spells:

-Dragon Tongue (A magical language of the dragons that can have a myriad of magical effects depending on what the user says. Though at times it can be dangerous to use some of its stronger offensive applications, such as in a narrow hall with allies in front of the user.)

Misc: Has been known to flirt with a female member or two from the mercenary company she joined. Does not have a taste for men. Enjoys swimming as a pastime.
@Jangel13 College semester starts Tuesday for me. Ah, joy. XD

But it will be my FINAL semester if all goes according to plan, fufufu~

Italian Restaurant

The small empress showed slight astonishment as before her was placed a large plate of hot, still steaming food. She could smell the rich spices, could virtually taste the flavors in the mouth even with just the scent alone. Stuffed shells of pasta, filled with an assortment of fine cheeses, coupled with some meatballs of prodgious size and pieces of what seemed to be sausage, sitting atop a thick bed of a creamy-looking sauce that had pieces of mushrooms all throughout its composition. With a sprig of some green plant on top for garnish. This was her dish, and despite the fact she couldn't really identify much in it Sanaki's mouth was watering despite her attempts to hold a good poker face about this. She, who was so used to the kitchens of her palace, was sitting in a place seemed fit for commoners....and yet this food smelled just about as good as it did back home when she would eat dinner.

If she ever made it home....no, when she made it home she was going to see if such a dish could be replicated in Begnion. And this was her opinion before taking her first bites.

Grabbing the familiar fork utensil, and utilizing the large, almost cloth-like napkin she had been brought with it, the small Empress took the first bite of her dish. Her manners were formal and proper, her conduct in taking the bite good, even wiping her mouth as a bit of that sauce got on her chin.

For the first time in years her eyes seemed to light up as she chewed the bite of food carefully, picking out the flavors and textures, her refined palette of a nation's leader coming into play. But over it was...was....DELICIOUS. She had never tasted such good food, far better than eating bear meat and such on that dreary campaign to slay a goddess. Albeit that campaign had been more important than any food she ate, merely eating something edible being a good thing really back then.

She could barely restrain herself from digging into the food like a madwoman, but visibly in front of the others kept up a modest eating pace with proper manners and customs. Only the look in her eyes betrayed her true level of enjoyment with the meal, but to her it would be impolite to say anything about it until after she finished the meal. Though her sincerest compliments would certainly be going to the chef humbly and discreetly, whenever she finished her meal and another waiter came by.

Though for the time being she was listening to the conversations, and upon Klaus speaking up about an organization she swallowed a bite of food, politely wiped her mouth, and decided to respond to this idea of Klaus' with her own thoughts about it.

"Your idea is intriguing, sir. I shall join as well, so long as Ms. Meterora here is also in agreement to join. Surely a base of operations for now would assist in deploying to handle any more....other-worldly intrusions like those wyverns for the time being."

Li Shuwen

Ikebukuro, Tokyo

"Hahaha! Yes, remain wary in this sort of place, that's a good way to survive," Shuwen said, laughing before addressing the two girls again after he had been spoken to, before glancing at the situation with the wolf again after having been keeping an eye for a moment, more seeming as if he was mulling about to himself with the following things he said, "Ah, perhaps the wolf was pursuing something, perhaps? I wonder....maybe a strong opponent?"

Regardless of his words, he began to jog over to the assembled group of individuals with the wolf. He was rather casual and non-hostile about his manner of approach, though he kept his wits about him whilst remaining ready to deploy Sphere Boundary if he so needed. Not that any could match his fists, though this girl who had caught the world had also caught his eye. No weapon in her hands, and she showed some strength. Further her movements seemed a bit trained, specifically in martial arts.

It got his blood pumping just a little, really.

"Greetings, warriors!" the martial artist called out as he made his final few steps to walk up to the group proper, his approach leaving him closer to Hibiki than the others.

@Ryofu@Rune_Alchemist@Althiel@BrokenPromise

Aerith took the hand of Irene without nay a second thought about the matter. Between what Hiro had said, which she was thankful for, and the fact the man was running by with the haste of someone who had maybe reasonably reacted to seeing themselves, and maybe others for all she knew, die in front of them not too long ago.....ah. Maybe this time they had a chance. A chance to save these two guards and be taken somewhere safe. A chance to learn more about this place and get to know things, to try to avoid the bandit ambush proper and-

Oh...

It seemed between all of these things the ambush was thrown off its game. Terribly so. The axe-wielding fire knight seemed to leap into a second-story window, causing an uproar Aerith felt she could only assume was attacking one group of the bandits. Further, the rest of the mob seemed to swarm out after, which at first struck a pang of panic into her chest. She could remember the spears impaling her, the blood gurgling into her lungs, everything as fresh as a raw wound in her mind. Yet they didn't seem to focus on herself or Irene, instead trying to chase after Hiro and Chieko. Though initially pangs of fear went into her about the matter, not wanting them to die again either as she had seen for Chieko at least, but based on the speed the two were moving....ah. This mob of undernourished bandits probably wouldn't be able to catch the physically fit looking Hiro with Chieko in tow. Maybe. If she was going to be optimistic here.

Aerith's senses were on high alert as well, her own sense of vigilance heightened by the adrenaline running through her veins. The panting from running over here felt evaporated as a "fight or flight" response kicked into overdrive in this situation.

By whatever gods they worshiped here, maybe, she hoped Irene and Vasilis and the other two companions in her trip here would be ok. Importantly, she hoped they all got out of this alive first. Speaking of which, she hoped Irene could keep them safe or get them somewhere safe. Unless she didn't want to leave Vasilis here right now? Ah.
