In the end it really didn't surprise her to see Sir Lopsalot check in on the nervous child. He'd always been the sort to keep an eye on her own state well enough, admittedly, and was of the more 'extroverted' sort to boot. Yet upon seeing the child's hand jerk back after almost petting the Buneary, Clarissa felt a pang of something inside of herself. A knee-jerk reaction of sadness, perhaps, that the child seemed so nervous about things altogether? Ah. But, well, she couldn't assume the contents of others' lives just as much as they could assume hers. Yet before she could say anything to respond, even if her mouth was but a moment away from doing so, the child looked to her and asked in a smaller, and audibly nervous, tone of voice-
"S-s-sorry. Um... Is it... is it okay if... if I pet them? Please?"
...Ahem. Yes, it was indeed respectful to ask a trainer something like that about their Pokemon. Taking a quiet breath in and out through her own nose, then, Clarissa would let the two corners of her mouth move up a little bit. At the same time, Sir Lopsalot would take note of his trainer's own expression and, with a little smile, give Amelia a little hug to try to tell her things were 'ok' in his own little way.
"You may pet him, no need to worry. He's quite friendly and outgoing little Pokemon, and picks up on things well."
Then, rising from her seat and leaving her pack on the floor, she walked over without being in a rush and squatted down with the child and Sir Lopsalot while getting down to their level. Clarissa would then point with her right index finger behind Sir Lopsalot's right ear. her voice then lowered some as she semi-whispered to the little girl (as she had now determined for herself in this matter) when she spoke next. If Amelia tried to pet Sir Lopsalot or such, then, he'd frankly go along with it happily for his part.
"He even likes scritches behind his right ear a fair bit, to tell you a little secret."
Hmm. Something felt familiar about all of this a little bit. A tiny bit...nostalgic even. Haha. But in lieu with trying to not spook the child, or hopefully seemingly worsen her nerves, Clarissa didn't try to be pushy about things. However, she had just about forgotten the tiny smile now on her face in the heat of the moment all the same.
Who would win? A Legendary Pokemon firing off lighting bolts as attacks, or one smol fluffy-tail-enjoying awoo from Arknights who is good with a knife and is seriously trained to kill?
Waiting Area/Reception, League Administration HQ, Grand Glory City
The headquarters itself was a massive building with an exterior of glass though rather than being large vertically, it was more horizontally vast. The stainless steel awning had letters spelling out 'EVIG POKEMON LEAGUE' soldered on the top in all caps.
As she walked past the automatic sliding glass doors, her purple travel case of supplies and gear back packed and currently being pulled behind her despite its backpack-style straps, Clarissa and Sir Lopsalot found them greeted by an elegant lobby. The floors were lined with dark gray slates with a tint of blue, and coming from exposed patches of earth were full grown trees that shaded the interior. There were likewise other bits of greenery such as flowering bushes quite large pots and vines that climbed up trellises. There was even an indoor waterfall pouring from the top floor of the building into a man-made stream pouring into a constructed pond that sat directly in the middle of the lobby. In the middle of that pond, though, there some sort of projection device displaying the logo of the Evig Pokemon League: A Pokeball ensnared by roots with a tree growing out of the top. It was all enough to tell that this was a place that was trying to leave an impression and have an air of legitimacy.
Grand Glory City. The home of the new League for the Evig Region. It had been home to her for the past year, enough that it seemed to grow a little more familiar in almost an invisible sense with each passing day, but it was even so still a new home and even somewhat alien to her nonetheless. The streets were dense. So many people, so many Pokemon, and a region so rich in its density of all of these things it seemed to be bursting at the seams when she had first arrived with her parents. Not that crowds were her favorite thing in general even. Still it was night and day, if not a whole world by many accounts, different from the far smaller and more tight-knit comforts of Pyrite Town back hom-...ahem, back in Orre. It likewise differed much from the gentle flowing waters and relaxed nature of Agate Village and the verdant calm of Relic Forest at that!
She knew her parents had moved here to 'improve all of our lives', and her father's new job seemed to be taking less wear and tear on him than his old one from the seeming improvement in his demeanor in general. While it lacked a certain 'charm' she felt the wastes of Orre carried, she had heard of a place in the deserts here in Evig that...well, perhaps she could go visit to see if it brought on some sense of nostalgia or familiarity perhaps. Among other such locations. Yes. But that place was far enough away some of these spots of interest perhaps were, though, the fact she was even starting on her Pokemon journey alongside Sir Lopsalot was not lost on her in the present. Indeed, it all meant she would get to go about and finally familiarize herself more with the Evig Region proper all over beyond just certain spots she'd heard of or looked up online when trying to grasp the nature of her new home.
It differed much from her raising and education back in Orre, that much had been for sure, but her parents and grandmother had worked hard on it all nonetheless. She didn't want to dissapoint them either by failing to do her part in things, even though she had her own goals out there she supposed. Hmm.
"Bun. Bun!"
Clarissa blinked for a moment, even as the voidce soft paw of her companion Pokemon stirred her finally out of her sudden pause in the lobby just beyond the front doors. Ah. Trains of thought could be a bit distracting, yes. And, er, standing spaced out wasn't something she needed to be doing here in such a place as this, no. Meanwhile, as she glanced to her left shoulder, Sir Lopsalot for his part seemed to be looking about a bit and keeping an eye on things as per his own usual habit. Though he seemed less tense and more, well, curious than usual as well. It was, perhaps oddly enough, not their first time in this building but the second. So to her it made enough sense that the adamant little Buneary was more relaxed about things in this case. Er, not that it was normal for those coming here for a certain occasion today of course.
Walking up to the reception now, however, the psychic took a second to say why she was there before being directed to the growing group of people in the nearby seating. Wait...was she among the last to arrive? Maybe. She'd had to walk a bit extra to get here due to some new construction work starting up on her original planned route at any rate. Even so, Clarissa's eyes scanned over those waiting there nearby in the provided seating in the meantime, hoping to get some idea of who was here and some initial impressions in. And to that end-
The first person that came too sight was a blonde boy, with a pink jacket on and a pin in his hair it seemed. From the nature of his jeans as well, though, it all felt like signs of wealth in his attire seemingly obvious to her. Yet he seemingly held himself well, calmly, gracefully to some extent even. To her, at least, even the cadence of his voice seemed well-drilled in some way or another. Hmm. All the same, somehow he seemed rather midly, even somewhat vaguely familiar all the same. She'd seen him somewhere before, but where?
Next coming to her vision was a boy with striking blue hair, who seemed somewhat familiar to her in his manner of dress. Not because she knew his face, but more because it reminded her of some of the people back in Orre. Tougher looking in a sense, but sitting next to the lobby pond and...meditating? Hmm. Yet beyond that, the boy seemed to have been approached so far by a redhead whose accent made one's sanity tremble and quake in fear was odd...but somehow she could grasp well enough from what she could hear her speak of from here? It felt strange to admit that to herself, but perhaps she'd just been around enough odd accents in the past or something.
Next to be noticed by her was the person she ended up being closer to than most of the others, though, as the psychic eventually sat down away from the others a bit as it seemed a short-haired and blonde younger child had also chosen to do. She wore a cute little hoodie and some darker jeans than some of the others, it seemed, ending in some purple and white shoes. It was hard to tell on a mere first glance if the child was male or female, though, but...well, the manner of dress seemed to make it purposefully more unclear. In that sense, it reminded her of how she'd dressed for a bit back in Orre when she was some years younger even. Brought an odd sense of nostaliga up in that sense.
Yet while she gave the child she would end up sitting near (Amelia) two or three seats of space to breathe as she herself sat down, well, not everyone seemed to have respected that as well. Another girl seemed to radiate a sense of confidence, and had placed herself squarely next to the child who had tried to sit away from the others as well. Blonde hair and golden eyes of this closer-to-herself-in-age girl aside, however, something about her felt 'undesireable' to the psychic all the same. Like she had an air of confidence and put-on grace, but it felt different from that of the pink-jacketed boy. His felt more natural to the psychic's eyes, in a sense, while this girl felt like someone on those makeup commercials that came on TV every so often here in Evig. Like she was trying harder to look it than the boy was? Eh, it was an assumption and a guess at best though.
Then there was another girl sitting on a nearby bench with darker hair, more like black hair really, wearing a beanie of some sort and seeming to be lost in her own thoughts as well for the time being. Nothing too dramatic about that, nothing much to think for a first impression beyond not seeming to be as local as some of the others in her manner of dress.
Hmm. It did dawn on Clarissa that, really, it felt a bit awkward being here with a Pokemon already whereas most others did not already have one (as was apparently supposed to be the case from her current understanding). Even if the Professor had reassured her after their talk that she'd be 'ok', it was still a bit...ahem, making her stand out more than she'd hoped to. Though, strangely enough, she didn't seem to be the only one in a different way as it turned out.
Something about the child she was sitting closer to, and a rather enthusiastic-looking, slightly-tanned, black-haired and rather tall boy sitting elsewhere in the lobby seemed to be talking to yet another kid here, pinged on her mental psychic radar about now. Or rather, they felt familiar enough as presences to her powers enough so and checked out properly with her personal experiences being around very much psychic teachers, including a peculiar channeler of all things, when she was staying with her grandmother in the past and trying to get taught to understand/control her powers. It was enough of surprise, frankly, that the psychic girl's right eyebrow pulled up slightly for a moment as she avoided making proper eye contact with the boy for the moment being at the very least. Not that she was going to stare at the child or anyone else oddly either for that matter. Well, Clarissa felt she could confirm the boy was certainly a proper psychic in a basic sense at least if nothing else.
But yes, from here it was natural for her eyes to pass over the boy the other psychic was talking to at least. Small ponytail, brown hair, pierced ears, and seemed to have some level of more natural-seeming confidence to her eyes in the way he held himself. Was just barely taller than her, if she had to take a guess, but seemed to be relaxed enough in his demeanor and manner that she didn't feel the same pressure she did from the girl who had plopped herself down right next to the small child.
Yet lastly, for now, but not least was a younger-looking green-haired protagonist-energy-wielding boy one one of the couches. Maybe he was around the age of the hoodie-wearing child, perhaps? Seemed likely, because those two were certainly also younger than herself or many of the others it seemed. Could feel the raw energy and excitement radiating off of him even from where she herself sat, really, that it almost felt like it wanted to rub off on her as well. But how couldn't someone be excited for something like this, really, especially someone a bit younger than herself in all of this? Then again the other younger child didn't seem to radiate the same sort of 'vibes' in a sense, so, well, she-
"Bun!"
"Hmm?"
Sir Lopsalot, doing his own looking about as his trainer was, had taken note of smaller child nearest to Clarissa herself. Noting perhaps some kind of familiarity to his own trainer, though, the brave little Pokemon had hopped down from Clarissa's shoulder and onto the floor. While not tying to prod the young one's personal space as much as the stylish girl sitting right next to her, though, the Buneary tried to get into the child's sight to see if they were ok. A little concern was written into his little face at first, even as he then proceeded to wave at the small child from his floor position and gave a cheery 'Bun' and a smile just to try to be friendly.
@Crusader Lord my original plan was to have my character discover their powers IC and have them grow throughout the RP, but that isn't very interesting if the end result is known ahead of time. Not that you would've known, of course. I'm not going to ask you to change anything, since I know from our last RP together that you make good characters. I'll go ahead and think of a way to adjust my character idea. That or think of another one entirely, or just bow out of the RP if I can't think of anything. How proficient would you say Clarissa is with her powers? If you'd prefer, you can PM me with any thoughts you have.
I don't see a problem with the idea you had for your psychic character still (as far as I know of it at least)! Well, at least on my end I mean. Could still be a nice route of growth for them to still discover their powers IC and be growing into them more throughout their journey, all alongside growing as a trainer and person! And even if the end result of them being a psychic isn't a secret, it could also provide another set of challenges instead for their growth!
The best way I think I can illustrate this would be with my ideas for Clarissa in the long-term personally-
So while Clarissa is at a good and well-disciplined level of control and capability, and her grandmother brought in help for her to get her there back in Orre, that is still far from flawlessness too. She is overly-restrained on her own emotions and powers out of an innate and deeper-seated fear of what 'letting go too much' will cause on her end, as she is afraid of getting hurt (again) just as much as hurting others or getting too overwhelmed again. That excess of restraint and not wanting to let go out of fear stifles and bottles up her emotions more, and likewise prevents her from better acclimating to the extent of her own powers and growing in them by being literally 'too tight on the leash' with herself.
The lessons she will need to learn, as a trainer and in general, is that....sometimes we will get hurt in life, sometimes there is pain, but we have to learn how to pick ourselves up, look forward, and face that to grow and become more than we are as well as to help us better recognize and enjoy the good in life to boot. This both for herself and her Pokemon.
That is how her powers are tied into her growth, or are intended to, in the long-term.
So similarly to Clarissa, not having to be the same as her at all of course, I'd say you could do a similar spin on your own psychic's growth as a way to keep things interesting.
It could be as simple as them being excited and being all-too-willing to stretch out with them while on their journey and having to learn a different lesson altogether than Clarissa does. It could be that they see Clarissa as a similar 'peer' upon beginning 'guide' of sorts to get a basic grasp of their powers, but differing mindsets or paths lead them to grow beyond that basic guide as the two clash in personalities and methods of doing things such that they are both forced to grow in the process or split into other circles for a good while to have someone to play off of while growing out there. Just as well, you could be wholly separate from Clarissa in interactions much of the time, and maybe you travel with another peer or group of peers and have to struggle to 'stay above water' with those powers as they begin to emerge (life, emotional distress, frustration, all of that one encounters on a Pokemon journey can be tied back into a struggle with powers too I think).
It wouldn't be the same journey as Clarissa needs to take in the long-term, but you can certainly make it your own! :)
Still, I don't want to drive you out of the RP due to sharing such similar ideas! So with that in mind, I can still very much change characters if need-be. I appreciate the compliment on character-making there, I don't think I'm rather good at it but I try at least, but still it'd be no problem to me either way if it preserves the psychic idea as being 'special' for you.
Could always whip up some other Orre character, perhaps one that is some Cipher-bigwhig's kid whose parents fled to Orre upon the fall of Cipher's hegemony in Evig, raised the kid there in Orre, and has a helluva chip on their shoulder but is trying to live life after moving (moving 'back' in their parents' case) to Evig in a more incognito way for one reason or another. Etc. Plenty of ways to write such a non-psychic (at least) character, and plenty to challenge them with yet still (Idk if they could maybe have a cool Orre motocycle though as a silly aside, lol)!
So if you really want to be a more speciall psychic character still, just let me know, its OK and I'm sure @Remram would be chill too if you wanted that! :P
And good to see you again! I hope the other RP and things in general are going well for ya! :D
Appearance: A slender but maturing girl whose expression is usually presented as stoic in front of others, Clarissa has long light-purple hair and a pair of piercing purple eyes in turn to match. Outside of the public eye she can be found to smile more often around her Buneary and family, her smile can be seen to be generally small but rather distinct looking compared to her ‘usual’ self. She has a braid on the left side of her head that is secured with a purple ribbon, given to her by her grandmother, and generally keeps it on her person at all times. As well. In terms of height she is 5’8”, and her weight is 132 pounds.
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality: A person whose psychic powers put a strain on her from a young age, pushing her to learn to control them as well as learn to restrain herself to an extent that has shaped her personally. What became the end result was someone who outwardly enforces a well-trained stoic expression on her face, a true ‘poker face’, who might be mistaken as ‘unfeeling’ in the process. Yet despite rarely showing outward expressions of emotion in a public setting at all, behind closed doors and with loved ones and friends and trusted confidants she is more comfortable letting herself express what she is feeling. Indeed, especially since her powers began developing and she began to train with them Clarissa can be an empathetic and kind person indeed….though this, due to her powers, can be both a good thing as well as a burden that wears on her mentally to boot. Generally she will try to be polite to others, though growing up in Orre she was raised to always keep an eye out on and an ear open to the world around her respectively. This mindset of awareness has been drilled in such that to her it's as natural as breathing air, as well as becoming a personal habit in the vein of drilling herself in trying to maintain a sense of self-restraint.
Beyond this, she does have a general ‘spark’ of curiosity in her that drives her to want to learn about things or look into them. The sort of mindset someone like a field researcher or archaeologist or such might enjoy, or perhaps even befitting of a scientist like her father at that. So despite her ‘strong self-restraint’ in the personal sense, she is more liable to poke her head into something that catches her eye well enough than not depending on the particular situation and case in which something does so. In that vein, getting to be paid and looking into things in her new region of residence is certainly a bonus in her mind.
Trainer Class: Wanderer
Hometown: Pyrite Town, Orre Region
Background: Clarissa Ryte was born to Milo Ryte, a man working at the Pokemon HQ Lab in Orre but whose family lived back in The Under before it was lost, and a mother who had come from Agate Village and met her father in Pyrite Town while visiting to look for different herbs across Orre. Despite living in a version of Pyrite Town that didn’t have CIPHER involved, Clarissa was raised to be aware and wary of the sketchy types and rougher sorts that still definitely called Orre home locally and otherwise. It was a life lived always keeping one eye open, and taking occasional trips to visit her maternal grandmother in Agate Village or paternal grandparents who had moved to Phenac a few times a year. There were also many times she went to watch Colosseum fights and such at Pyrite Colosseum with her mother and/or father, being both a way to get entertainment locally as well as get to see more Pokemon outside of the battles held in Duel Square. On occasion she’d stop by the local fortune teller with her mother, perhaps, or watch TV to see whatever shows were on or whatever the ONBS was saying in the latest news stories.
Living in the Orre Region, she wasn’t exposed to a Pokemon-rich region and most often saw them when it came to watching Pokemon battles or people going about with their own Pokemon. The region itself was, after all, a notable wasteland without much in it to sustain Pokemon save for three curious areas called Pokespots where some ‘native’ pokemon had begun to appear and live in. With her father involved in helping the Pokemon HQ Lab in leading the legal and non-criminal importation of Pokemon to Orre, he would also on infrequent occasions get to go to Gateon Port and bring her back some kind of souvenir or trinkets the ships had picked up from some other far-away region. Beyond this, however, her father was often gone due to work most of the time and her mother was the one who was most at home.
At the age of five, however, a young Clarissa would find herself suddenly struck with what seemed like a debilitating condition that made her collapse in the middle of town as she went shopping with her mother. She kept mumbling about voices in her head and feeling all sorts of things even after she would wake up later, but after getting medically checked up the doctors could not find out what was wrong…until she started talking about things they’d been only ever thinking about and never said aloud. Eventually it would be confirmed that she’d begun to develop psychic powers of some sort, which in turn would lead to an attempt to grasp the situation by her parents as they tried to find out how to assist her. It wasn’t exactly an easy thing to raise a child with actual ESP in a region without so much as a school for such things.
Where the most help would end up coming from, though, would be Clarissa’s grandmother and the peaceful serenity that was Agate Town. With herbs to help the frequent headaches a younger Clarissa would get from her powers, and training to try to restrain and control herself as well as tapping into some old contacts from her trainer days who had such powers to come help, Clarissa’s grandmother would help her and even take her on walks to see the Celibi-honoring Relic Stone the village held so dear. It was also here that something of an event would help spark her curiosity to become a trainer would truly occur, back when a twelve year old Clarissa would suddenly wake up in the middle of the night after yet another day of training with a friend of her grandmother.
Feeling drawn to somewhere, the girl would wander to the Relic Stone and see it letting off little sparks of green light…like fireflies even. Yet she could feel a presence there, flitting about around her. Watching her, even, curious and yet keeping its distance. As the girl reached out to touch the Relic Stone, running a hand gently down it, the presence would suddenly appear behind her. Despite falling to the ground from the sudden spook, the younger girl was shocked to see the legendary pokemon Celebi staring right back at her as it flew lower to the ground to get a better look at her. For a moment, the girl would reach up hesitantly, with the smaller legendary pokemon reaching back to touch her hand in turn, before eventually moving back and disappearing as quickly as it had arrived again in a small flash of light.
Upon telling her grandmother, and her dirty pajamas telling some evidence of the encounter as she wandered back out of the Relic Forest in the early morning hours, it was certainly an event that struck her grandmother as unique. Of it she was told that it was ‘a blessing, a sign that [she was] meant for something great’, though the impression of it all left a sense of wonder in the girl that didn’t seem to fully fade away even as she got older.
Indeed, as she got older, and more of a handle on herself and her powers, Clarissa would become more as she has become by current times. Restrained. Reserved. Putting up a wall and a front to help her create a basis for controlling herself. Etc. It didn’t make her many potential local friends, though, but eventually to try to cheer her up she went with her father and mother to one of his visits to Gateon Port. Supposedly a new shipment of Pokemon had arrived, and he hoped to get her a pokemon of her own to keep her company. Only just having turned fourteen at the time, Clarissa came along with her parents hoping that having a pokemon would help her learn to better express herself. It would also be at this time that Clarissa would, as they walked by the Machine Shop, be struck with the feelings of something that was…suffering. It was in pain. It wanted to live. It felt….alone. All of these were something that felt, even if for a moment, all too familiar to how she’d felt all those years ago.
Without batting an eye the girl darted away down a side alley, her parents in very worried and hot pursuit, only for her to find a Buneary that seemed wounded and starving for food. It was weak, and only getting weaker, and as she took it up into her arms it seemed to look slowly up at her in the process. It was after this that Clarissa’s parents, as they arrived and watched her turn around with this hurt pokemon in her arms, would later look back on as the ‘moment that [they] realized there was some kind of connection she had to this little, injured pokemon from afar’. Clarissa would ask to bring home the little Buneary, after her and her parents raced it get it to a Pokemon Center in time, and then help care for and bring the little Buneary back to health the rest of the way after taking it to the nearest Pokemon Center in a hurry, and would want to bring it home afterward.
From here, it was a year of bonding and growing with her new Buneary that seemed to bring them both out of a ‘funk’ they had each been in. Allowed them to see more of how each other was, coming out of their shells, and ultimately leading to her Buneary getting a nickname from her and entering a Pokeball as she decided she wanted to become a proper Pokemon Trainer. Soon after this, however, Clarissa’s father would find a change in jobs and her parents would move along with her to Grand Glory City in the Evig Region so her father could work a new position he’d been hired on for at a certain Professor’s lab. Plus moving to a generally safer region, one full of many more Pokemon, was something that Clarissa’s parents felt would be healthier for her than reaching adulthood in Orre.
And so they moved to the city, and her father took up work at a different Pokemon lab and began his work there. As for Clarissa, however, it was….still going to be an adjustment. But she had her beloved Buneary with her, and he had his beloved trainer in turn. Fast-forward another year later, and her father would bring her to work one day upon request of his boss. It was here the girl was talked to for a bit by the Professor, before eventually being made the offer to take up a Pokedex and go out into the Evig Region! It was something that would enable the start of her own ambition to become a trainer, it would help her better familiarize herself with her new home, and, well it was an opportunity that she and a certain Buneary could seize with their own two hands! What could go wrong?
Kind of Pokémon you like: Pokemon she can empathize with, or form some sort of bond or connection to. Ones that in perhaps some way can be or are relatable to her and, yet individuals of their own who can grow alongside her and vice-versa of course. That is what matters most in the end for her.
Yet one cannot deny either that she seems drawn more toward little ‘oddities’ of Pokemon as well, whether common ones or uncommon ones alike, with a personality that seem out of the way or are ‘outcasts’ or that can be found in little holes in the wall or cast-out places in a sense. Things like her Buneary that made his way far from home on its own adventure, coming from far away, or a Murkrow or some peculiar ghost type like a Mimikyu that lives out of an abandoned factory in the ramshackle part of town and the shadows. Things like an ancient Pokemon brought back from a fossil from long ago, such as a Lilleep or Kabuto, a mischievous prankster of a personality who enjoys a bit of fun here but for whom such a personality might seem a bit ‘out of place’, or something that lives in the surrounding hills such as an Absol-....w-wait a second here! There might be a pattern!
It might be, in part that is, Clarissa accidentally has a sort of natural penchant for the sort of Pokemon that seem very ‘shady’, ‘cunning’, ‘tough’, and even potentially ‘mafia-like’ in some sense. Perhaps it is her upbringing in Orre and so forth that has shaped her like this, whether consciously or unconsciously, to this end? In any case, it is a neat little ‘quirk’ about her all the same when it comes to the types of Pokemon she likes.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
She works to both become stronger herself (as a trainer and psychic and person) and train with her Pokemon to help them become stronger as well. In a sense, doing for her Pokemon what her grandmother and grandmother’s friends did for her. Become better. Learn. Become stronger. Pursue that path forward, and chase the sun over that horizon!
One way or another, she is going to forge her own path forward. Beat gyms? Definitely Collect and find Pokemon? Of course. Something else too, perhaps? She would have to see, but it certainly wasn’t out of the question.
She enjoys spicy types of food generally, though her starting compatriot seems to have something of a greater tolerance for spiciness than herself, though she also has a soft spot for sweets which she prefers to have for special occasions primarily. When one friend of her grandmother sent some peculiar spiced chocolate from Paldea, it was an exciting prospect and she enjoyed it in the end!
In general she isn’t picky about food. A hot meal is a hot meal, and even if she isn’t a glutton she will appreciate it. She also, though, does enjoy trying new foods. She has the basics of cooking down in a general enough sense to survive and subsist at the very least as well.

Sir Lopsalot
Appearance: He also has a notably prominent, and once horrific (long ago), scar going over (vertically) his left eye (luckily the eye itself is ok), but that’s all.
Species: Buneary
Gender: ♂
Type: Normal
Personality:
Nature: Adamant
Characteristic: Alert to Sounds
Sir Lopsalot is quite an adamant and outgoing little bunny, and is a loyal pokemon that will stand his ground even if faced with overwhelming odds for the sake of the things and individuals he cares about. He likewise generally seems to carry a certain sense of pride for a Buneary, even in the face of defeat trying to hold his head up high….though when defeated he does tend to sulk a little bit in frustration or such. In general can usually be relied upon to be generally courteous and polite to others, unless they are not nice to his trainer (or he perceives them as being such or potentially such) in which case he will take issue with them personally. His behavior reminded his trainer of a ‘little knight, like the ones from tales and bedtime stories’, and thus he got his cute little name as a result and seems to take pride in that nickname as well.
At the same time, he is alert to sounds and his trainer’s demeanor and usually keeps an ‘ear open’ as the saying goes. If his trainer is resting he usually wants to be there keeping a watch on their surroundings. Whether this watchman-like behavior is just out of a sense of care and loyalty, or perhaps due to other things that happened in the life of this Buneary before Sir Lopsalot met his trainer, mostly remains a mystery to his trainer as of current times. He also quite enjoys a good meal, especially after a hard-won victory in fighting or after some good training!
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
To Become The Strongest! (He Shall Become The One Punch Bunny/One Kick Bunny!)
Sir Lopsalot wishes to become stronger and a very mighty bunny indeed, but also seems to want to see other places and things and pokemon and people as well. It is also a curiosity, in this latter case, that he seems to share with his more reserved trainer in turn.
He enjoys spicy foods and spicy flavors.
He thinks dancing is kind of cool, due to a human stranger he saw on the streets of Gateon Port one day in the past who had really big and weird spherical hair colored like a pokeball for some reason. This remains true, as much as he is embarrassed about liking it or dancing in front of most anyone (but his ‘secret theme’ is tied to this specific quirk).

Sir Lopsalot was a rather adamant and stubborn bunny back home, the sort who got into little fights here and there and even tried to go on adventures beyond the scope of home. At the same time, after a particularly bad and stormy day its mother failed to come back to the den and disappeared without a trace. While several of its siblings stuck together, Sir Lopsalot included, it eventually came down to the little bunny trying to protect them all as time went on and dangers as well as other wild Pokemon began to close in on where they lived in Sinnoh. Eventually the small band of Buneary moved off to eventually re-settle on route 218 near Canalave City before eventually disbanding and dispersing after being chased by an angry local Floatzel they stumbled across who chased them off all over in different directions before returning to its den.
Ending up in Canalave itself, Sir Lopsalot would eventually scavenge for food and find his way to and onto a strange foreign ship docked in the harbor. A sister ship of the former S.S. Libra, this was a Pokemon-importing ship that was just finishing restocking food for its Pokemon cargo onboard. Said cargo of Pokemon, as it were, were bound to be brought back to the wasteland of the Orre Region, which had rather few native Pokemon at all compared to most everywhere else. It would be here that Sir Lopsalot would sneak his way down and make friends with a small group of Wooper onboard the vessel and end up accidentally stuck on the ship as it left port while he was onboard. It would be a long journey of hiding from crew and trying to sneak food with the help of its new friends, but in the end Sir Lopsalot would make it to Gateon Port proper before being finally discovered trying to sneak some leftovers from the kitchen to his new friends one morning.
Trying to seize or capture the illegal stowaway, the sailors tried to battle it and the little bunny had a scrap with them as it tried to escape. This is where it got its scar. To this end it would at least manage to escape, though, making it into the port town and coming to live there for a few days as it scavenged for food behind the Krabby Club and tried to remain hidden. It was only when a local girl and her parents passed into Gateon Port a few days later that the poor Buneary was finally found, and something about the girl seemed to draw the bunny’s curiosity as she picked it up off the ground. It had been driven away from its little hovel near the Krabby Club by a trainer, only to struggle to find more food to eat and nearly wasting away in a nearby alley behind the local Machine Parts Shop.
Due to being psychic, the girl had felt its emotions and ran to find the poor Buneary with her parents in hot pursuit behind her. Finding the poor thing, the girl took it up in her arms and convinced her parents to help her get it to the nearest Pokemon Center. Even in her arms the Buneary felt something unique about the human girl, and in the ginger care in which she carried him despite her haste, and after it was cared for at the Pokemon Center the girl wanted to take it with her. Take him…home. At first the male Buneary would be mostly quiet and reserved at first, even as the girl brought it food and tried to make it a little bed in her room and everything, all before eventually starting to open up to her more in turn to her. At first it was a happy reaction when she’d come to see him resting in his little sheet-lined box that was his bed, then turned into the bunny following her around, to eventually accepting a nickname of his own as a new name. Bit by bit he began acting once more as he once did back home with his siblings, and she in turn seemed to open back up to him as well. A year later, and with both having grown and changed already since then, Sir Lopsalot would decide to even go into a Pokeball of his own as her Pokemon by the time the girl and her family moved away to the Evig Region.
What adventures would await them? He didn’t know, but he looked forward to it all the same.
~This Adamant Bunny Is Also A Little Bit Secretly Silly!~
Scrapper
Appearance: (Nothing special beyond the normal)
Species: Trubbish
Gender: ♂
Type: Poison
Personality:
Nature: Quiet
Characteristic: Highly Curious
Scrapper is a Trubbish who was born a survivor of the sewers of Grand Glory City, having lived down there his entire life down there prior his capture. He is a quiet little guy who doesn't pipe up too much in terms of speaking, though he is often considerate and contemplative about decisions and apt to thinking on his little feet after so long surviving down in said sewers as well. Likewise while he's apt to run from danger if he can, and the scenario fits it in his mind, he also knows when he can't run and is willing to stand his ground even against a dangerous murder bunny chasing after him and try his best to hold his own where it counts. At the same time, he is still ever a curious little Pokemon who enjoys exploration, learning about new things and places, and even trying new proper food or potential 'foods' for his part. While his primarily more contemplative side helps temper his curiosity somewhat, on certain occasions of a strong curious streak he's potentially liable enough to follow a curious streak and end up having to flee from something or might end up bringing a situation upon himself and/or others. Or, well, making him apt to sit quietly by someone's side and to pat themn lightly on the back if they're having a tough time alone.
His nickname orignated from a spur of the moment decision on his new trainer's part, finding it to be 'fitting for a little survivor' as much as it also 'sounded a bit tough-loooking' as well. At the same time, his nickname, to him, isn't too cutsey as much as it kind of sounds like a street nickname for him. Either way, he certainly likes it!
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Enjoys singing on occasion, finding it fun and enjoyable on his part. He's not even shy about singing in front of others for that matter. He's...well, he's also actually pretty darn good at it, funny enough.
Scrapper is far from a picky eater, having had to subsist on what humanity left he and his kin in the sewers as well as do so in comeptition with the sentient goop that hunts both the same food as well as Trubbish like himself for dinner to boot! Then again, he does have a soft spot for more astringent (slightly acidic or bitter) types of food and isn't really a fan of sweet stuff.
He does not wish to become someone's food. He doesn't like Alolan Grimer/Muk personally as part of this.
He is a bit detail oriented when it comes to certain tasks, taking his time and enjoying getting things where they 'feel right' and are in proper order. In that vein he's a rather good organizer!

Held Item: Black Sludge
Lady Goowain
Appearance: (Nothing special beyond the normal)
Species: Grimer
Gender: ♀
Type: Poison/Dark
Personality:
Nature: Impish
Characteristic: Proud of its power
Lady Goowain is an Alolan Grimer, a hunter of garbage, a proud lady of the Alolan Grimers of the sewers of Grand Glory City, and hasn't skipped a beat since her capture by a certain psychic girl. Trainer or no trainer, she is a proud Alolan Grimer and will prove it! On one hand, she is a lady who enjoys eating her meals neatly and properly and not in a 'sloppy' way as well as enjoys harmless, playful, and ultimately mischevious pranks and jokes being played on others by her (might even try to get so co-conspirators in on it if she feels she can). On the other hand, she will throw hands if she feels provoked and will stubbornly keep standing tall (by Grimer/Muk standards physically-speaking) no matter how many times she is knocked down! She is also fond of entertaining events and watching amusing things happen, and such things will often draw her attention to boot as well as bring her potentially to laughter and such jovial actions on her part perchance as well.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Thinks she has a fine sense of taste and acts like it-....and is, despite her annoying attitude, a rather good judge of food quality! It is no wonder she was a Grimer who, while hunting and scavenging in the sewers was simply a task to keep herself fed, found her true enjoyment of food always came from seeking out meals such as pizza slices and cast-aside human foods! She'd even dare to poke her head out to the surface now and then, seeking a nearby trash can or metal bin behind a restaurant, during the late night hours! It is no wonder she could be found closer to the entrance(s) of the Grand Glory Sewer Network.
She likes being the boss of a particular group of Pokemon, but at the same time isn't too foolish as to pick fights with something larger and stronger than her....unless she thinks she can win. Is most apt to pick fights with weaker/less stronger Pokemon than anything.
Lady Goowain is a flirt when it comes to other male Pokemon in her egg group, esxpecially those like Gengar and Galarian Weezing whom she finds to be a most handsome species! ((OOC: Ths is just played up for comedy purposes, not to be sounding bad or such, but if she found a proper mate then someone's finding an egg eventually.))
Not very neat and orderly about where she sleeps. Food is the finest thing in life! Where she sleeps? She's used to wherever really.

Held Item: -
Libera
Appearance: (Nothing special beyond the normal)
Species: Aron
Gender: ♀
Type: Steel/Rock
Personality:
Nature: Brave
Characteristic: Capable of taking hits
Libera is an Aron of the Grand Glory Sewers, having moved there along with a number of her kin to eat up the delicious human-wrought metals of the underground! She didn't even hesitate to get involved in such food-seeking activities either, even at the risk of the odd trainer or someone eventually coming down there when inevitably one of them might eat up a pipe or line that was rather important to those living above....not that they'd know, being Pokemon of course, about all of that. All the same, she is a brave sort who when danger rears its head will defiantly stare it back down and charge in to smash it to pieces, and indeed as this shows when faced with 'fight or flight' she chooses the former in the spur of the moment. All the same, she isn't the impetuously bold sort who just shoves themselves into everything and everyone's business either or seeks out a ton of trouble. She is brave, willing to face immediate dangers and turning her fears into an instinctive 'fight instead of flight' when danger or trouble comes knocking, but outside of these things she is a rather docile and hard-working Pokemon who prefers more blunt measures and such to getting things done and can be counted on to keep walking forward even when times get tough. This being said, she is also not adverse to tactical approaches, but she isn't a 'thinker' as much as she is a 'one who does things' and isn't afraid to get more than a little dirty or take the patient time (not being overly stubborn) to get something or another done when she puts her mind to something.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
A rough life in the sewers, and perhaps having migrated from a certain Hidden Cavern to boot in search of food to eat, seems to have shaped her more personal trait of instinctively standing her ground and even fighting when danger or a threat presents itself. It isn't a trait that lends itself to the best of results depending on the threat, especially if it's one much greater than herself, but it is something that she begins with all the same and is something a trainer of hers might need to learn to deal with or work around depending on how she matures and grows and evolves over time.
As noted, she is brave rather than simply bold, and her preference to 'avoid drama' is something she tends to do on the average unless it somehow drags her into it all. She isn't one to fuss over and bicker with others, simply wanting to go about her business and get things done, though if pulled into something or driven to action somehow by it she is rather forwardly apt to try to put an end to it.
A fan of spicy flavors to an extreme, of all things, though in terms of metals and outside of regular Pokemon foods this translates to something desiring and enjoying hot and heated metals as part of her meal (aka: "Spicy Metal" in her mind). Her tolerance is such that it'd make a spicy-heat-loving Paldean (pokemon or trainer for that matter) shudder in terror! Or so it would at least seem. Dense levels of spice are really her thing as well, liking highly-spiced foods as well as being a spicy-flavor-enjoyer.
((Note: She'd even try other peculiar metals, frankly, if given the chance perhaps, to see if any fit her palette as well.))
A grumpy sleeper that doesn't like being awoken jarringly or suddenly outside of the normal, wishing to get a good night's rest as best as she can! Even in a dangerous situation she'd be grumpy, though, even if she would understand being woken up for such an event or happy someone woke her to the danger instead of leaving them all to be at risk by not waking her.

Metal Claw
Ability: Rock Head - Protects the Pokémon from recoil damage.
Held Item: -
Pyrite
Appearance: Former scratches on his little 'right foot', stained red from the rocks and surroundings as it healed, which makes his appearance somewhat more unique compared to his kin.
Species: Roggenrola
Gender: ♂
Type: Rock
Personality:
Nature: Careful
Characteristic: Strong Willed
A resident of the Hidden Cavern beneath the Grand Glory City Sewers, Pyrite is accustomed to the weirdness of Evig in these peucliar and alien lower reaches-....and yet just not much care about it. It was the only home he'd ever known since hatching from an egg however long ago, sure, and through its dangers and peculiarities he became a rather careful little Pokemon who tends to take careful consideration of things before acting after likely some amount of mishaps and struggle along the way. He eventually learned enough of the tunnels and maneuverings to get around, avoid trouble, stay out of anything big's way in case it might eat him, find safe spots to relax or feed, and the like. At the same time when he dedicates himself to a course of action he isn't one to back down softly or normally, being about as stong willed a Pokemon as the human population of his namesake's home region has had to be to some extent or another. He isn't one to give up on a serious pursuit or decision easily, and is one to put his actions and thoughts out there without hesitation (such as dragging off a certain walking trashbag to try to avoid trouble), but he is one to think before acting and take proper caution and care all the same and isn't a rash sort about things. In all of this, it is of note that his nickname is more fitting than his trainer might realize.
However, naturally, he had never seen a human before, so when one came down into his home area he didn't expect that something wholly new would send another Pokemon to weaken him enough to catch him while he was 'vibing' in one of his favorite spots! But....eh, he wasn't eaten or something? Well, this was all rather new, wasn't it? He was cautious about it all, but....well, this was certainly going to be quite the trip, wasn't it? So just as a tumbleweed might roll about a desert, he too would roll with this new lot in his life all the same.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
When he eats food, he likes it bitter and has a dislike of dry sorts of flavor palettes in his own picky manner. While this has mostly amounted to bitter minerals and such as a diet thus far, things like dark enough chocolates, green teas, dark coffees, and even some amount of herbs or potential vegetables would be seen as 'good tasting' to him. Flavors and things he finds to be netural to him will still be eaten, sure, but he will normally jump to his favorite sorts of flavors outright if given the chance. He's picky to enough of an extent, really, just not so to an extreme.
Stomps his little feet when frustrated or angry, which is adorable until he becomes a Gigalith and the stomping shakes the ground a little bit, and paces about when he's thinking hard about something while also sitting still if he isn't thinking too hard about something.
He is not one to mind scenery changes or going to different places like beaches, volcanoes, cities, farms, forests, lakes, etc, heck he doesn't even mind being far from his original home or anything. Home is where his trainer and such is, it seems, and he doesn't bat an eye (if he had one) at it. However, the one thing he does mind is that he cannot swim.
His favorite activities are 'vibing' (sitting about enjoying nature or the feeling of a particular place he's in) and training, and oddly enough at the same time he also enjoys being the equivalent of the "group dad" to other party Pokemon because he is often the one to be careful and drag back others if they get in danger. He will never admit to this lattermost thing though.

Jotaro
Appearance:
It was certainly strange. These things looked like Igglybuff, but also not really? For starters, their round bodies were a bright orange, not pink, and instead of a puffy tuft of hair on the top they had various feathers colored red and yellow tied up with dark turquoise beads to resemble flickering embers. Their eyes, which were normally red were also that same shade of turquoise. The only thing that resembled the typical Igglybuff was the trademark swirl on its forehead.
Nils and Clarissa's Rotom Phones hovered in front of them and read the following entry:
Pokedex Entry- Igglybuff, the Ember Pokemon. Igglybuff are filled with highly flammable gas that turns into a 1800 F flame when ignited, leaving their foes blackened. Their diet consists of rocks that are converted into flammable gas and typically favor Roggenrola as their prey.
The only unique trait to him that makes him stand out from other Eviggean Igglybuff is that he has a small splotchy and distinctly yellow-ish birthmark-like patch on his body on the upper back of his body (basically the back of his head as far as it should be considered in reality).
Species: Igglybuff (Evig Variant)
Gender: ♂
Type: Fire/Fairy
Personality: Jotaro is one of the two "Fire Puffs" Clarissa and Nils encoutnered in the Hidden Cavern's (very likely) Wigglytuff-led underground population deep underneath Grand Glory City's sewers, one of two little baby Igglybuff brothers at that who was apparently left at the entrance to the den to play about. Having lured in a punk human kid exploring the sewers above, it seems, he and his brother proceeded to capture and bully the human kid around and were having quite the time amusing themselves in this vein of things.Truth be told, the day he was caught he and his brother had become quite bored sitting near the den entrance....at least until he and his brother found an overly-curious human close enough to home to kidnap and bully for entertainment. It had been a boring type of day, really, and yet despite their fun Jotaro and his brother would be confronted by a pair of two more human kids...but these were trainers! Up to the challenge of a fight, Jotaro and his brother took on the their new opponents, teaming up to defend their fun and getting some good hits in before-
*DING*
...they got captured in the end. Oh. That wasn't part of the plan. Their mom was going to be SO, SO very mad about this later.
For his part, Jotaro had always been a bold sort who dares to go where no chaotic toddler energy Pokemon Eviggean Igglybuff has ever gone before! Sometimes he enjoyed sneaking out when the older Pokemon where sleeping, he didn't hesitate to step up to get something to eat when coming up to bat with the other Igglybuff of their home den, he helped his brother when he needed it, and was even bold enough in his strategic thinking even in battle to help think up obtuse and strange plans like "hey lets turn a Poison Gas into a giant fireball that goes boom" in a combo attack with his brother during their fateful battle with two seemingly just as bold trainers. When he puts his mind to something, he does it with boldness and decisivness! This can also include boldness exhbitied in the form of a bit of mischief that he and his brother so seemed to enjoy, though this in part could be chocked up to the fact he's technically a baby Pokemon of sorts.
But now, now he goes out into a world yet unknown to he and his new trainer for the most part! That will certainly lead to exciting adventures and so forth for sure! Though, yes, sure he has to deal with the punch bunny that socked him with one of its fists and and ear....but why not add a rival to the mix of things, hmm? Sure will help motivate him moving forward, maybe both of them even, in the days and so forth to come. Plus it means more silly things and mischief that could be gotten up to, oh yes, and potentially so much more! He won't be kicking the bucket or giving up that soon, that much is for sure, and life can have its fun momments! Not that you don't have to sometimes retreat and replan or the like if or inevitadly when in life things go south, because even the best-laid or spur-of-the-moment or even bold plans can definitely have a chance to fail. Gotta take risks sometimes, though, that's still a fact to him! Ah. Even so, the journey will certainly help him sober up more, and a touch of such soberness does exist within him when it came to his growing personality back home somewhat as well. Can't be bold without running into crap at times that scares the naievety out of you, after all, and you have to be bold sometimes to protect those things and ones you hold dear....old or new ones to come into his life alike.
Nature: Bold
Characteristic: Mischevious
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
To see the breadth of Evig, and explore this new world he has been pulled into!
Become the toughtest Number 1 Igglybuff-like Pokemon as best as he can.
Maybe on rare occasion bully the walking trash bag that tanked his and his brother's super cool fireball move sometimes.

@Crusader Lord You do get some brownie points as the Colosseum series is definitely my favorite spin off. I will PM you some details on how I would like to handle her psychic powers later. My only thing is that you were meant to receive your starter when you get your Pokedex, but I can compromise and say that this is fine as it does seem quite important to your character. As long as you have a starter lol. Also, you forgot your trainer class.
Anyway, approved!
....Crap I forgot the part about just recieving them when she got the Pokedex! Curse you no sleep! DX
Apologies for that goof on my part, twas' a result of porting her over as fast as I did and rushing, but also thank you as well for being so kind about it and flexible there. Seriously. Soon as I read that I forgot that bit I panicked and was about to try brainstorming a new OC on the fly until I read more of what you said. (T_T)
Editing in the trainer class right after I make this response!
And no problem on the DM about psychic powers, will do my best to follow the rules on that stuff and ask any question along the way I need, sir! o7
And same! Colosseum is my favorite spin-off, and I got the GBA attachment for the Gamecube to even trade Pokemon over from the old Ruby/Sapphire games some years ago! Ah, good times~ I need to replay it one day. Well, and see if the old gamecube or Wii works first too anyways. I can hear the battle theme in my head just thinking about the game. XD
