Drake definitely carries a youthful and energetic aura around him. He's ready for anything exciting to go down, and his movements are quick and spastic, he can't seem to hold down all of that energy within him. Though, the kind of acts like a model (a goofy) model as he's prone to making melodramatic poses, almost as if someone is taking a picture of him. It's kind of weird. Though he does have a great well-shaped body from years upon years of athletism and bodybuilding, and if you ask he will gladly remove his shirt and flex. He's very well-built, and the body that he has complemented his body-shape well, though I will say his legs are the most defined because Drake was a runner before anything else. In terms of height, he isn't anything special being around the average height for a Caucasian male, and his build isn't super stocky nor bony. Speaking of Caucasian, Drake is British and Japanese, but you wouldn't be able to tell given that he looks one-hundred percent white other than the fact that his eyes are slanted. His skin is coated with a variety of different scars from the fact that he is a bit of a rough player when he plays sports. His elbows are shit because he fell on them a lot, his knees are covered in nasty scabs, and knuckles are scarred and bruised from fist fighting. His teeth are also very shitty because he's missing a few and he should have gone to the dentist more. Regardless, the Blackmore Family have great genes.

Drake Blackmore here is a connoisseur of jackets! His favorite hobby is finding a cool ass jacket and flaunting it, his favorite being leather jackets. Unfortunately, the school's in South Carolina, which is the one place where he can't wear his favorite jackets. Which sucks, since Drake isn't a summer person. He dresses pretty simply wearing jeans or shorts and a t-shirt with a jacket. He doesn't do the whole accessory thing, except for sunglasses and his gloves. Because of his power, Drake makes it a habit to cover as much of his skin as possible so he doesn't do any accidental power copying. When it's in the blistering summer heat, well, his options are quite limited. However, Drake always goes out in public wearing gloves of some sort. Sometimes black gloves, other times, leather gloves.

There are many words that could be used to describe Drake Blackmore. Many people settle on terms such as "stupid", "jackass", and "egotistical". He likes to call himself confident to a fault because that's all he exumes, pure confidence and energy that'd get him through the toughest of all times. This confidence and energy of his has gotten him into plenty of trouble because he doesn't know when to stop and he let it become arrogance. However, Drake was raised in a very moral household where the Blackmore siblings were taught concepts like kindness and compassion. While the kid is an arrogant jackass he still has the best interest in heart for everyone around him and wants to help people anyway he can. And that's one thing he's passionate about. Yeah, he has a hero complex. However, the death of his father only a few years ago has certainly gotten to Drake. He wonders what's the point of doing anything and is really starting to realize he's a little fish in a really big pond.

Basketball ⫻ Growing up, Drake was the star of his basketball team... at least when he played it. He played a ton of basketball either officially for his school or just on the streets, and he was pretty good at it. He often practices shots while in FAMA's gym to relieve stress, but even he realizes that he's out of his element.
Hand-to-Hand Combat ⫻ Drake was always a trouble-starting shithead, and fights were pretty easy to come across in his home-town - He's a pretty good scrapper even without any martial arts training. Though, he doesn't get into too many fist fights, especially when people sling superpowers around.
Social-Butterfly ⫻ Drake's pretty good when it comes to people, he's grown up his entire life being at the forefront of his family and getting to know a variety of different people. He knows how to deal with people and knows that a lot of problems can be solved by being a listening ear. He's very easy to make friends out of people - which helps a lot during FAMA work.
Metahumans ⫻ Drake Blackmore, due to being a Blackmore, has tons of experiences and knowledge about Metahumans to draw upon. He knows about how Metahumans began, and how they function, that isn't much of an advantage in FAMA, but he pretty much instinctively knows how to deal with a lot of different Metahumans.

So to begin, I have to explain the backstory of someone else before I get to Drake.
So Drake's father was Adam Blackmore, a British Metahuman that was alive during Delta-Storm and was one of the few to be infected with the Type-Green energy and gained the ability to copy Metahuman powers. He could observe them in action and gain instinctive knowledge of their powers and copy it by observing it. After Britain had a less than desirable reaction to the Metahumans Adam and his family fled to the states and that was where Adam met Drake's mother Lisa Takahashi, a Japanese woman born in the states. They eloped got married, and then eventually started having kids. Victoria was the first of their children, then Drake came second, then Drake's younger sister Amanda, then Charles was the last.
Of course, Adam wasn't just any British dude in the US, he joined KINGFISHER around the time he came to America and became one of their best Agents. He was known as the most powerful and greatest KINGFISHER agents with the callsign known as All-Father, and he was responsible for many victories against hostile Metahumans and REAPER. He was pretty high up in the organization and that meant massive paychecks so the younger Blackmores could live in relative harmony. The family lived in Black Fall, the city of freaks, in a nice little house in the middle of the woods that they would sarcastically call "The Blackmore Estate."
Lisa Blackmore, their mother, was the one that stayed at home taking care of the Blackmore children and making sure they don't end up going crazy (Eventually she manifested her own aerokinetic ability). Living in Black Fall wasn't easy, especially when you are Drake Blackmore who was the more rambunctious of the Blackmores. He was just a ball of energy that he carried into his adulthood and had that competitive spark inside of him. That didn't just translate well to sports, but it also meant that Drake wanted to go out and have adventures in Black Fall. Which was what he did, he went out and had fun getting to know the kids their age in Black Fall. As he grew up, he learned about the various groups in Black Fall and made friends with some, enemies with others. Though naturally, he had the potential to manifest an ability, and he was exposed to the Type-Yellow energy (from an animal-meta he met as a kid) in addition to being born exposed to both the Green energy from his father. Drake was one of the very few people capable of manifesting a triple chromatic ability.
His manifestation, unlike others, was fairly quiet and he didn't realize that he had his power until one day he brushed up against his mother while she was cooking and became a wind-elemental. A being that was part boy, and part raging tornado... naturally, Drake freaked out and lost control of his powers. It took the combined efforts of both Lis and his older, experienced, sister Victoria to contain Drake and get him under control. They immediately contacted Adam, who immediately contacted FAMA and they registered Drake and tested him for his abilities. They learned that he could copy the powers of Metahumans upon contact, and takes on a form-based off of it.
Drake was the last of the Blackmore siblings to actually manifest and the possibilities were endless. Throughout the years, he has used various different powers during his adventures. Though, one day he learned that Adam went to Verthaven to face off against REAPER, and then the disaster occurred. The whole family was praying for Adam, but when the smoke cleared... it was reported that Adam Blackmore was dead.
Drake was absolutely demolished by the news to the point where he was a shattered shell of his former self. The news of his father's death changed Drake from a happy-go-lucky bruiser to a more colder person - it made him far more serious. Around this time, the Blackmore Siblings were sent t different academies, it was Adam's last wish before he went to Verthaven and they were cleared to go.
Drake himself was sent to Academy 003.

Type-Chromatic (Green-Yellow)

Drake is a Blackmore, and thus he has inherited their famed ability; power replication, however, it has merged with the Type-Yellow energy and thus affects his physical body. When Drake touches a Metahuman he copies a bit of their Metahuman energy and transforms into an embodiment of that power so to speak. The best way to describe this would be through example; if he touched a pyrokinetic he'll be covered in fire and be able to shoot flames. If he touches a metal manipulator he'll be a walking statue. If he touches a telekinetic he'd become an amorphous telekinetic storm. Or turn into a meaty muscular thing if he gets super strength. He can get a unique form for any type of power. Due to the nature of his ability, when Drake copies a power it mutates as in it changes in function so Drake may have abilities that the original does not. It's less of copying powers themselves, but instead copying their element, if that makes it any clearer. He has, first and foremost, worked out that he can selectively transform parts of his body. The transformation will be a lot weaker than if he had transformed completely, but it's quicker and more subtle. Oddly enough, Drake has learned that he can also incorporate his outfits into certain transformations and it prevents him from destroying his outfits every time he transforms. Drake is capable of storing powers within himself, however, he's limited to two powers at a time - once he copies the third power he must abandon the oldest one.
Here are the powers that Drake has stored:
Electric-Form.
Drake's preferred form he got from Black Fall, and it's the form he's the best at using. Upon activating his ability, he'll be covered from head to toe in a wreath of electricity and he'll be able to shoot all that energy off in a variety of different forms. Starting with a stream, to a complete bolt of electricity that'll fry even the strongest of all Metahumans. Drake also has the ability to fly while in this form.
Form-Merging.
A new advancement of his ability that Drake has been trying to work out and is on the verge of discovery. He's attempting to figure out a way to merge two forms together to create a powerful merged form... he hasn't quite figured it out yet but he's not sure if he'd be more powerful or less...

Let me just get this out of the way; Drake doesn't know how to use an ability after he copies it, and will need time and training in order to utilize the power properly. Of course, due to the fact that he drops powers fast, he doesn't have the opportunity to really train or get acquainted with it and of course, someone else will get better at it. Which isn't helped by the fact that he will copy any ability that he's compatible with upon skin to skin contact, and he may lose his powerful form for a weaker one. Drake will also need some time to transform, and if ambushed he could easily be taken out before he even starts. Drake, once transformed, can remain in a form long as his stamina allows it, but he'll get tired from excessive usage of his ability. Drake's lightning form requires time for him to charge up to perform the really big tricks like the lightning bolt, so that leaves him open while he draws power. And after such a large feat he'll need to take some time off to recharge. He has a ten-meter limit to his electricity and any electricity that goes beyond that range will dissipate. Rubber and insulators also restrict his conductivity but that's unlikely to be an issue. Drake's amphibian form doesn't have any limits and has the power to end the universe!

Drake inherits the weaknesses of the original power, so his replication itself has no weaknesses. However, Drake's lightning form has a variety of weaknesses... primarily water. Any type of water will interrupt the flow of his electricity and prevent him from shooting lightning as he wants to. Even touching a puddle of water will direct his flow away from his target and to the puddle. Though, it logically won't last long as the heat will evaporate any small sources... he can't easily evaporate any larger sources. Getting drenched or submerged with water will knock him out of the form. Next weakness is lighting! His lightning powers are bright, bright enough to blind him for a few moments, and even fuck up his vision (there's a reason why he wears those goggles). It makes it difficult for him to keep track of enemies and could give people an easy way to escape or sneak an attack on him.

It's not difficult to tell where Kashmira was born and raised. Her facial features and skin tone are distinctly featured from the Indian-sub continent (the southern area, of course), and she speaks with a very thick Indian accent - however she dresses more "American" than a walking stereotype (that's only for special occasions). The girl seems to carry herself with caution in mind, she usually takes slow steps but most of all watch her step. She usually keeps her hands together in front of her, or at her sides. A lot of people get the idea that she's rather tense given the way that she carries herself and the fact that she's very easy to startle. It's not the case innately, but she unintentionally gives off that kind of impression.
In terms of build, Kashmira is a very small girl at just an inch below five-feet due to genetics alone. The girl finds it easy for herself to get into small spaces but always find it incredibly hard to get noticed. She's extremely slim, bony, even due to a mixture of her diet and the fact that she tries to exercise every day so she gets plenty of exercises. She doesn't have a whole lot of muscle-tone nor does she have a lot of body fat, but what fat she does have is merely padding for the girl. She has some curves with 36Bs and some hips, but nothing that'd make heads turn. India is a very diverse place, and Kashmira has roots from the Keralite people (and other Indians mixed in but they're rather distant). Her skin tone is a little dark but nothing major and she has a very pronounced nose with a large nose ring, and her eyes are large and brown color - packing a striking gaze within them. Kashmira has long shoulder-length hair that's a dark brown color and is very well-maintained, and it's naturally a little wavy - she doesn't keep it in any style.

Despite what you may think, Kashmira doesn't dress like a walking stereotype. She has a very modest style of dress but still uses brands that people her age wear. Out on Charity Beach, she doesn't get the opportunity to dress heavy, so she usually wears a shirt of modest length or sweat-shorts. Sometimes, Kashmira wears a shirt that shows a little cleavage, but she strays away from clothing that would reveal more. She's not a hat kind of woman, but she does sometimes wear a beanie when it's cold. Though, she has a wide selection of clothing from India that she wears during special occasions and holidays.

A very strange girl by American standards. She is oddly kind and nice to people, as that was how the Sarais were taught to act in her family. To be the kindest compassionate people out there. And it shows in almost all of Kashmira's interactions with people. She isn't afraid to make the first move and talk to people about nearly anything. If it wasn't for the cultural differences it'd be easy for Kashmira to befriend anyone. Even without the cultural differences, she's a bit eccentric, very hard to read sometimes and follow her line of thought/speech. Kashmira was raised as a devout follower of Shaivism and has no intentions of changing that. She is a vegetarian and refuses to eat meat on the grounds of the said religion. She refuses to hurt people and is very passive - she'll only use violence as a last resort. Everything that Kashmira does is in service of her deity, Shiva and she looks to him as her mentor, her healer, and the key to her happiness. That isn't to say that she isn't a happy person, she is just eager to learn more and constantly grow and change - in addition to helping other people. She's a bit... naive, and very idealistic, some people say it's her biggest flaw but she sees it as her biggest strength. Her biggest flaw is how overwhelmingly stubborn she is, and how unflinching she is about her ideals.

Trilingual ⫻ Kashmira grew up in India all of her life, and thus the language that comes easiest to her is Gujarati, and you can find her speaking it on phones or accidentally slipping into it. However, Kashmira also took classes in Hindi and English, so she's fluent in both languages.
Cooking ⫻ Kashmira's mother taught her how to cook since she was young and by the time she was thirteen she was cooking meals for herself. It's helpful because Kashmira doesn't eat meat and she lives alone. She goes to pick up some ingredients and she's all set!
Dancing ⫻ Kashmira was taught to dance by her mother (and grandmother surprisingly enough) how to dance. Both her mother and her grandmother were amazing dancers and they passed on that skill to Kashmira. She hasn't had too many chances to strut her stuff, but she's been practicing and practices dancing by herself as a hobby.

To begin, Kashmira was born in and grew up in India to two loving parents, but she had a twin sister Rashmika. Her family tree is quite complex because her grandparents had thirteen children, and she is just one of a legion of grandchildren. Growing up in Ahmedabad, life wasn't particularly hard for the girl, she grew up playing and hanging out with the other children and she was raised to be a devout following of Shaivism. Her early life wasn't particularly eventful other than the fact that she learned English and Hindi while in school for her to effectively communicate with other Indians. Life was going to as ordinary for the girl; she was going to grow up to become an amazing young woman that would strive to achieve Dharma. However, it came to Ahmedabad, the Beast, they called it, Kasmira now realizes that the thing had shaped her modern life. A powerful Metahuman that had been rampaging across Europe and Asia for decades and went on a rampage in her home city. It was a violent experience that haunts Kashmira, and worst of all she was separated from her parents.
As a little girl wandering through a destroyed city was a chilling experience that Kashmira does not want to experience again. However, she noticed a red light coming from one of the buildings and wandered inside... and found a weird red crystal. She grabbed the crystal and stuffed it into her pocket, and eventually was reunited with her family after the coast was clear. Given that her home was destroyed she found herself living with her uncle's family in Hyderabad until she got a new place to live. She held onto the crystal but felt oddly strong when holding it, and while playing with it, she had inadvertently caused a chunk of the building she was in to fall off. It was a scary experience, but she realized that she had done it with a bit of experimentation and realized that she can control stone. Eventually, she showed her twin Rashmika, and also showed her the crystal - but upon contact with the crystal, her entire body started glowing with red energy. Eventually, Rashmika manifested with the ability to create and control wood.
They practiced with it and discovered something interesting; when they close to each other; both of their abilities are much stronger. When they are touching, they can cause world-shaping feats, and the two felt amazing but chose to keep it a secret. However, they inadvertently attracted the attention of all the wrong people; and they came a coming. When Kashmira was walking home from school, she took time to stop at her favorite place to kick a soccer ball. There was no one around... until she eventually smelled smoke and turned around to see Abel himself, smoking a cigar. The girl was terrified by the titan, but he stated that he meant no harm and that he tracked a Delta-Crystal to the area and asked her if she knew anything. The young Kashmira merely shook her head and Abel pressed on. In the end, Abel went on his way but she was terrified by the experience, so she ran home and grabbed the crystal and threw it into a river hoping that would be the end of their problems. However, they just started - the next night strange men were hanging around their household, and eventually made a move and broke in and held the family captive, demanding the crystal. Kashmira, out of guilt for starting the whole mess, told them that she threw the Delta-Crystal away.
Abel soon made his appearance and requested that she lead him to it. So, Kashmira walked through the streets of Hyderabad with the world's most feared terrorist walking behind her. The streets were cleared by his mere sight and the police, military, and Metahuman regulation had no clue what to do without endangering Kashmira. Eventually, she let him to where she threw the crystal and he walked into the river and after a moment he came back with it. He merely walked past her, cryptically saying "We have come to terms." before walking into a portal and his REAPERS pulled out. Her family was heavily questioned by the authorities, but ultimately they couldn't get a lead on the elusive REAPER organization.
This was, among other reasons, why the Sarai family ultimately decided to move to America - where Kashmira's grandmother lived. They settled in New York, Staton Island, and life wasn't the easiest for the family at first - given that Rashmika and Kashmira are the only two in the family that knew more than a small amount of English. They eventually got a job at a restaurant that Kashmira's uncle had, and Kashmira, once she was of age. Though Kashmira and Rashmika finally met their grandmother in person at last - the aging woman, Hanumanta, was one of the first Metahumans in India and told her granddaughter about all the adventures. She informed the two about the little thing about their blood; they have an effect known as "The Bond". A connection between her entire lineage that allows them to draw strength from being near family members that are Metahuman. Most of all, she gave Kashmira a necklace with the shard of a red Delta-Crystal in it and stated that it boosts the power of whoever wears it. She also explained that she used it when she was younger, but now that she's aged she has no more use for it. Kashmira nearly rejected it out of fear of Abel, her grandmother insisted that it was a dark, cold, harsh place out there and that she needs every tool in her disposal to survive. The words resonated with Kashmira given her encounters with Abel, and chose to take the crystal - only to use in the most desperate of all situations.
She had problems progressing through American school at first, but in time she hit her stride and became a grade-A student through sheer dedication alone. She wasn't exactly one that fit in with Americans, but she found common ground with other Indians... though, she still felt like an outsider from time to time. Eventually, Kashmira received a letter in the mail; an invitation to Academy 003. She won the "invitational lottery" out of complete chance, and decided to head to the academy at the recommendation of her grandmother. Her entire family congratulated her, but she figured that it was time for her to move on and become her own woman.
Besides, New York was far too cold for her!

Stone-Manipulation.
Kashmira's main power she received on contact with the red crystal, she's capable of manipulating all forms of stone; whether natural or artificial. At it's most basic her manipulation allows her to move and shape the earth, however her control is a more refined version of it. Instead of raw power her ability primarily focuses on precision. While she can't cause a landslide or collapse a building with a snap of her fingers she can create functionally anything out of stone. She can erect walls, pillars, spikes, and more out of the group, and send chunks of stone flying. Kashmira finds it easier to control smaller stone than larger pieces. Kashmira has to do this through body motions, so she can launch objects out of the ground by stomping her foot and can knock over stone pillars by casually pushing her hand over. It can it any body movement, as it's a connection between her power mind and body. Kashmira has a ton of potential with her ability and has plenty of advanced techniques in her arsenal. Such as creating weapons/armor, flying using her ability, and controlling sand.
Now let me explain what "The Bond" is. It's a trait shared between anyone who shares the same blood as Hanumanta Patel that is independent of their Metahuman energy; it's an effect that allows Metahuman Sarais and those related to Hanumanta to boost their abilities by being near each other - exponentially so if they are touching. For example; when Kashmira was touching her twin sister Rashmika, her range almost tripled and she can do more destructive feats. However, the Bond comes with the cost of losing control - while Kashmira gets more destructive she loses that gentle fine control that allows her to sculpt. Anyone who has Hanumanta's genes and manifests a power can use the bond - and it'll only work if they are two Metahumans. Oddly enough, none of her family have to possess the type-green energy, almost like it's an effect of different power in and of itself. So none of them are chromatics, purely have their power. Hanumanta has a very complicated family tree with many grandchildren and other people that share her blood, so dozens have the Bond and in the future, there could be hundreds with it. However, since Kashmira is alone in the story it won't come into play.

Kashmira's Stone-Manipulation has a painfully short range - around sixteen feet of herself, but she can best control stone that is closest to her. Kashmira has the easiest time manipulating smaller pieces of stone than larger chunks. So that example of her erecting a pillar out of the ground? It would be very tiring and straining on the girl. As stated before, her ability is more focused on precision than raw power so she has an easier time shaping a stone surface than making earthquakes. Seemingly, she feels as if her power is more focused on creativity than destruction. Her stone manipulation requires contact with the ground or contact with the stone surfaces. The purity also plays a part as the stone that's diluted with other elements such as concrete is harder to control.

Kashmira has a lot of potential and physical strength that can't be ignored, and FAMA classifies her as a high-level threat. However, Kashmira is a mighty-glacier, she has a lot of strength, but it requires that she's slow-moving or immobile to use her power. Mixed with the pathetic range and the fact that she's not too fast herself, her power will leave her helpless if she has to deal with a faster-moving opponent. Using her ability causes nausea, physical weakness, and more - which gets even worse if she tries to do an extreme feat. Because stone is heavy, it's very difficult to use the ability in the first place and far more tiring than other elements.

"Everyone is seemingly born with... uh, what was that phrase? "Growing pains"? I hope with compassion we can get through these "pains" before they get worse, much worse."
Kashmira's grandmother gave her a necklace that has a Delta-Crystal woven into it, and she keeps it hidden safely in her apartment. She's afraid of it, but will not hesitate to use it in the case of an emergency.

Nakala, as much as she hates the concept, usually draws attention to herself the very minute she walks into a room for a variety of reasons. For starters, the fact that she's tall. She has inherited her height from her mother - along with a variety of other things. She stands tall even above the boys at six-three and even has a deeper than average voice. Along with the fact that she's a bit more muscular than average, she can be quite intimidating. The girl carries herself with weight and confidence and makes every action of her matter. What sucks for her is that she's nowhere near as feminine as she wishes she was. However the girl is curvy, and she still hits the gym and her time in the dance studio has done wonders for her. Usually, she has her hand on her hips or her waist as she walks. The girl is African-American and proud of it, she has extremely dark skin, thick lips, and afro-textured hair that she keeps in dreads.

Nakala is a very strong-willed and determined human being. She takes a lot after her mother and the way that she was raised, and she was raised to be a strong woman, full of spirit that takes nothing from nothing. However, one difference that she has from her mother is that she has far better social skills, and is not ridiculously prideful as she was. Nakala herself is a very caring and loving human being who sometimes lets her pride cloud her judgment at times. Nakala herself only focuses on what's in front of her and hardly has time for distractions. She's less concerned with putting on fronts as she is with her immediate friend group and advancing herself. So rarely you'll see Nakala drawing unnecessary attention to herself or dressing flashy. However that isn't to say the girl is completely anti-social, she's perfectly fine talking to people. However, Nakala is extremely impatient and at times and that lead to her saying and doing things that alienate herself from friends.

Dancing ⫻ One thing Nakala has had a talent in is dancing. Since she was young she always took dance lessons that have evolved into being the assistant instructor for a dance studio and competing against other schools. She aspires to be in music videos and do it professionally.
Mechanic ⫻ Nakala's father was an auto mechanic, not the best job but it was something. However, the girl picked up a lot from her father because of her interest in it and also works part-time there now and then. She knows how to fix most cars better than men! All the looks she has received were hilarious when upstages the men!

Nakala's mother was quite interesting, her name was Michelle Gallus and she was a Floridian woman born in Tampa that, after manifesting at a young age drifted into the woods. After a few weeks, she was picked up by a traveling circus which she lived with for a while until she went to academy 002, and eventually joined KINGFISHER in its prime. She took the callsign, Scary Monster, and preformed numerous raids against the likes of REAPER and other Metahuman threats. On the side, she met a man named Bryan Phillips and the two eloped, got married and soon enough Nakala was born. Bryan wasn't anything impressive, he owned an auto-garage, while Michelle worked as pretty much the primary breadwinner. There a slight bit of tension between the two because Michelle was more or less making way more than Bryan.
Well, Nakala was born and raised in Black Fall, Pennslyvania. She wasn't the overtly social kind of gal at first, she kept to herself growing up. Her mother taught her how to be independent of a young age, and taught her how dangerous the world was and how tough she had to be. She taught her skills she needed to be self-sufficient, including socially. Often the girl was responsible for getting herself to and from school and staying home by herself until one of the Phillips got one. However, she had one friend that she stuck through from kindergarten onwards; Olivia Clarke. This girl was her best friend and the two had more experiences together than anyone else because the two were inseparable. Nakala, throughout school, made friends with many people from Black Fall, most notably Amanda Blackmore. This was enough for Nakala, personally, but she found herself making more friends incidentally by taking up her interest in dancing. It, at first, was an after school thing eventually it evolved into a passion. She became so skilled at dancing throughout her younger years that it became a competitive thing for her - even going to different cities for the weekend just to compete!
Soon enough, Olivia manifested a type-blue power. It was the ability that gave her instinctive knowledge of biology that puts her above even the top minds in the field. The girl went insane with power as she created a new life, made cures for diseases, and other such things. Nakala told her to slow down... but then Olivia made her a pet raptor and Nakala was silenced for a while.
Things changed for Nakala in 2014, when all hell broke loose in Verthaven and Michelle was sent there for backup. It was a nasty stressful time for the Phillips family as Bryan wanted Michelle to come back before she gets killed or something and all the bad things they heard about the war against REAPER. Then it got nasty when the shield came up and the Devil of Verthaven damn near wiped out the city. They lost contact with Michelle and they assumed the worse... until it all blew over and it was revealed that Michelle survived. Except for the fact that she had lost her arm, and the insane amounts of PTSD she had from the incident. All the rampant violence and murder that took place took a toll on Michelle and she became an alcoholic wreck.
That hurt the Phillips family in more ways than one given their primary breadwinner was taken out of the picture. She got a huge check for losing her arm, but it wasn't long before the money was starting to dry up and Nakala had to take up odd jobs to help support the family. She had less time to hang out with her friends and live her passion but she managed to get a job at the dance studio. It was a small job as an "assistant instructor", which was the owner of the studio throwing her a bone.
Then the punches kept coming as Nakala eventually lost her closest friend, her emotional support. Nakala cleared her schedule and they went to a house party and Olivia went missing. At first Nakala thought she went home, but eventually, she wasn't home and everyone was getting suspicious. Nobody knew where she was and there were several police reports put out but nobody could track Olivia Clarke. Things felt a little strange to Nakala as Livvy was only separated from her for only a short period and nobody knew where she was? Well, she launched her investigation into what had happened and it turned up no leads, and it seems the police were content with giving up. After all, Metahumans disappear from Black Fall all the time? What makes Olivia anymore special than them.
Nakala eventually suspected REAPER was involved, but she didn't have a clue about how to go about it... until she found it. It was a red Delta Crystal that she had found while rummaging through Olivia's things. It gave her an idea, a very stupid and risky idea, but an idea nonetheless. After scouring the dark web for information, she eventually found someone who'd get her in contact with REAPER, and arranged a meeting. She arranged it for the very outskirts of town in the middle of the night - it was tense, but she showed up nonetheless. Nakala met with a REAPER agent who introduced herself as Davis... then he came.
Abel.
She was terrified of the tyrant, being REAPER's boogyman and the one responsible for the Verthaven disaster that scarred her mother. However, she tried to stay strong and stand her group. They had known who Nakala was and was expecting a trap but she stood strong and demanded to know information on Olivia Clarke. The information they insisted they didn't have, she tried to press them on it but Abel simply demanded the crystal. Against all logic Nakala refused and Abel moved to take it from her and her power manifested at that exact moment.
Sparks of green lightning hit Abel and covered him in plants which... did nothing to stop him as he simply tore out of it, grabbed her by the wrist and yank the crystal out of her hand. Defeated and terrified as she dangled from his powerful grip, he left her with the parting words:
"If you want to know what happened to your friend; look inward, there are other threats than REAPER around."
Cryptic as always, he left with the crystal and his compatriot... leaving Nakala to wonder what was next. The first thing she did was go the hell home and not tell anyone what happened, it was for the best. the next thing she did was research powers and realized that she had a type-red ability, with some testing she found out the exact nature of her power. The third thing she did was lie out of her ass about how it naturally manifested, just because she didn't want to tell her mom about how her stupid decision almost got her killed by the world's scariest man.
Eventually, she came out to her mother and Michelle arranged for her to get sent to Academy 003, where Nakala wondered if there were any clues to Livvy's whereabouts here.

Nakala has a strange power that seems to be a mixture of plant manipulation and electrical manipulation. She can produce dark-green electricity like energy that looks and moves much like actual electricity but does not shock or burn on contact. It travels the speed of lightning and will more or less instantly reach its destination, but does not conduct whatsoever. What it does instead produces plant life when it comes in contact with any unplanted surface and causes an explosion of random plant life (From fruit-producing plants to bushes) that'll continuously grow as long as Nakala keeps pumping energy into it. She can also produce a continuous stream of electricity and can also charge up for a massive thunder-bolt that'll cause a huge explosion of plant-life if it comes in contact with a surface. This power doesn't have too many direct uses, but she can produce plenty of this botanical-lightning and can drastically change the environment of an area given time. She can turn an area into a raging jungle if she has time, and this will allow her to produce barriers, bridges, and perhaps even fruit. If the lightning strikes a person it won't cause any damage to them other than causing plant growth on their being that can probably easily be torn off. The ability has a side-effect of putting insane amounts of oxygen into the air just by creating the lightning. Also, if the lightning comes in contact with seeds it'll cause a sudden and explosive growth.
Nakala has a secondary ability to support her primary, and it's a more direct plant manipulation. Nakala is unaware of the fact yet but she subconsciously produces small amounts of the energy where ever she goes and that gives her a connection to all plant life in the area. Which means she can sense plants and communicate with them subconsciously... of course plants can't talk, but she can detect their health state. However if a plant suddenly dies she'll know (more on that later), so that'd give away if someone is sneaking up on her. The primary usage of this ability is that she will be able to influence plant growth while she's creating it. In the way of a more traditional plant manipulation ability - she can shape and manipulate plants long as she's linked to it and creating it. So she can use plants to create barriers, attack people, and that kind of jazz.

Nakala can create as much energy as her stamina allows her. Besides, it has a range of around eight meters and going past that range will cause it to immediately disperse. However, her power has two catches to function at it's maximum; sunshine and environment. Nakala needs the sun to be touching her skin or else the plant growth will be stunted, which cuts her effectiveness in half indoors. Also, she has trouble producing plant life on artificial surfaces such as concrete and metal.

First things first, the plants are weak against anything that'd normally damage plants such as ice, fire, toxins, etc, etc. The primary weakness of the power comes from the oxygen-producing quality, it fills the air with so much oxygen that even a slight spark can cause a huge flame. A huge flame that'd most likely set Nakala on fire because she's in the center of it. The other problem is that excessive amounts of oxygen is toxic and will cause nausea at best.

Academy 003 is located in a forested area situated on the outskirts of a city called Charity City. Technically within the city bounds even though the Academy is situated on the very edge of the city grounds. It's surrounded by woodlands, and fields as far as the eye can see, only broken up by the sole road connecting the Academy to the outside world. The first thing people see about the Academy is the tall brick wall, and the large metal gates - and of course the sign saying Academy 003. These walls are to keep intruders, and unwanted guests, from getting into the confines of the Academy.
Academy 003's campus is a beautiful sight and is a collection of different buildings, rather than one large building. Each of these buildings serves a different purpose, and are all within walking distance of each other. Connected by stone pathways that lead to different ends of the school. Because of the Academy's reputation, it has some of the best funding out of the entire Academy Program. Academy 003 is equipped of state-of-the-art facilities, and technology, as it is regarded as the second-best Academy in the program (Second to Academy 002, of course). It's one of the largest Academies, that are attended by thousands of different people each year, and has one of the best staffs. Thus, it has one of the strictest admissions. Academy 003 is guarded and monitored by a small FAMA office, and the FAMA team that backs them up.
Despite the Academy having strict admissions, the older students are almost constantly cycled out for fresh students. Academy 003 mainly aims for students that have done something to stand out from the others, have potential in their eyes, or come from a troubled background. However, Academy 003 is known for using a "lottery" assisted by the FAMA program where a young Metahuman is selected for Academy 003. It's difficult for someone to apply to the Academy for these reasons, but not impossible by any definition.
The students, in particular, are divided up into different classes (First Year, Second Year, Third Year, and Fourth Year). As the Academy Program is a four-year program, these classes are essentially a way to separate students by year. Year 1 being first-year students, and year 4 being last year students. The different classes have little to no interaction with each other, as each of the classes is expected to be on different levels than each other. At the end of each semester, Year 4 graduates, and the preceding classes move up to the next letter. Fresh students are constantly brought in, and in the event that there is a shortage, applications are opened.
Academy 003 is known for its "Academy Games" events that are done once a year. It's a massive event in which the students from all classes have an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in various competitions decided by the staff. The Academy Games is usually done towards the end of the semester to showcase how the students have advanced power-wise. Each of the students are separated by which class they are in, and none of them compete against each other. It starts with a preliminary elimination round and those who survive to move up to the main events. Whoever wins the Academy Games (I.E reaches the top three) receives a huge great boost in grading, and will be in the Entrance Hall's Hall of Fame.

♦ CLASS COUNCIL ♦
The Class Council is an assembled group of students to represent the Academy's teams. The Class Council is not called the Student Council because each of the different classes has their own Class Council. It is not to govern students as some may expect, but instead be a link between Academy Administration, and the students themselves. Additionally, they work to improve the lives and morale of the students. It is a highly active, and very important role, that few ever take. They have a large number of roles from informing students of important matters, to consulting students, to organizing educational and recreational activities. As stated before, each of the classes has their own student council. A common mistake that many make is that each Class Council carry from class to class. At the start of the new semester, a new class council is voted in by the students. The Class Council consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

♦ TRAINING SUITS ♦
For Arena Fights and Training Sessions, the school has issued military-like suits for all the students. The suits take the appearance of military armor. They're a near-skintight suit, made of a flexible, but durable, fabric. With an armored Kevlar vest and shoulder, elbow, feet, and knee pads integrated into its design. Each suit is specially made for the students before their arrival. Their powers are also accommodated by the suits (EX: A pyromancer's suit would be heat resistant, while a Bestial-type meta's suit would be made to fit around their features). Students are free to take their suits and customize them freely. However, if their suits don't meet the standards of the Academy they will not be allowed to participate in training or the arena.
♦ ACADEMY TEAMS ♦
Since the conception of Academy 003, the school has funneled the students into teams of several students. These teams are selected by the school staff (Specifically the power instructors) after evaluating the student's skill. Students are placed into the teams depending on their abilities, and with the intent of the students bonding. Every team has a leader. Usually, the students that do the best (Display teamwork, skill, and leadership) during early power training sessions are selected as the team leaders - while everyone else is placed into members of the team. After a team has been assembled, they can participate in the many official school games. Such as Arena matches, or matches at the Game Stadium.
However, teams can also improve their ratings by generally contributing to the school and the power development and carriers of themselves and others. By either participating in charity, academic achievements and developing their powers (And helping others do the same). Individual achievements (Such as solo arena fights, and whatnot) also count toward the overall team rating. The teams will compete with other teams to have the team with the highest rating. Working as a team will count towards the student's final score when graduating. Which makes it imperative that students take these teams, and what they stand for, very seriously.
Once teams are set, they can not be changed unless a student drops-out/is expelled. At the end of each year, the teams are reshuffled.

The Entrance hall is the first place that Students see when they first enter the Academy. It's also where all the pathways start from (and end). Inside of the Entrance Hall is the reception desk that is mounted by an overworked Secretary answering calls day and night! The Entrance Hall also contains the gift shop, where you can get Academy 003 merchandise, and the auditorium. Inside of the entrance hall is the massive auditorium, where the staff gives speeches. It's also where the theater club performs. It's a massive hall in which there are enough seats for hundreds of people (As a rule of reference, it has enough seats to hold every new Class A).
⋗ ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING: |
If the Academy was a machine, the Administrative Building would be the gears that keep the machine operational. It's where the many offices and files kept on the students are contained, and where the Headmaster's office is kept. Inside the Administration building is the many staff workers that are dedicated to keeping the Academy running.
⋗ TEACHER-OFFICES : |
This significantly smaller building is the offices that belong to the various teachers, and instructors of the Academy. Every Instructor has their own (usually personalized) office room where they keep their own records and is where a majority of them spend their times out of the classrooms. Such instructors are usually in their offices killing time and set up appointments to discuss matters with their students.
⋗ FAMA OFFICES : |
FAMA has a very high presence within the Academy, and thus, they felt the need to build their own on-campus office. A relatively new addition to the academy, it is constantly staffed by caring FAMA agents that look out for the well beings on the students. This is usually where admissions are decided as any applications and admissions have to be run by FAMA before they can even think about setting foot on campus. If there's a matter that students need counseling or help on, FAMA is there to assist. However, this building is primarily where the FAMA agents keep a careful eye on the students, and if necessary call FAMA to kick heads in.

Many instructors have their own car, and a small selection of students have their own vehicle. The garage is where these vehicles are stored, but before a student may place a vehicle in the garage it has to be licensed, approved and cleared by administration. The Academy also has their own selection of vehicles in the event that they have to go out and transport students to the Academy. They also have rentable vehicles in case a student wishes to go out on the town.

Some students are extremely problematic. In response to that, the Detention Center was made on the basement level of the Academy and (usually) the only rules being broken are fighting outside the arena. The Detention Center is three floors worth of large prison cells that have doors like vaults. Each cell is a square metal room with a bed, toilet, shower, and some books to read. What is the most notable feature of the room is how durable it is, and they are made to be extremely hard to break out of. Though, any students who are placed in the cell are given a nullification collar.

Obviously, there has to be a place for the students to sleep and keep their belongings. Divided into two separate buildings by sex, the Student Dorms has to be the largest location in the Domestic-Wing, as it is three floors high, and each age-group gets a different floor. The bottom floor goes to the youngest (10-14), while the middle goes to the teens (15-17), and the uppermost floor goes to the oldest (18+ Students). Every floor is jam-packed with rooms to suit the Students and of course since the Academy promotes interaction between the students, room-mates are a must. So every room is made to hold two-to-four students, but a majority of them holds around two, depending on the spacing demands. Every room comes with a bed, desk (With computer), and a closet for them to safe, along with commodities such as a television set, sofa, computer, and so on. The second floor has a laundry room, and on the first floor there is a shared Lounge which contains games, seats, and is generally a place for the students to relax. On each floor, there are community showers, expertly tiled, and complete with privacy stalls and lockers.

Another recent addition to the Academy is the Recreation Center, in other to give students more to do in their spare time they opened the center. This center is a building made to accommodate a variety of different sports, and activities, and it includes a fully equipped gym and fields for the sports to be played.

Not too far away from the dorms, the Cafeteria is set up much like any other Cafeteria; a large square room with a counter on one side with food and drinks on it and plenty of lunchroom tables scattered all over the room. The Academy serves all types of foods and serves it at all times until midnight. Students come in, eat the finest foods that the academy has to offer, then they are sent on their way.

A medium-sized building off not too far away from the cafeteria and it is another location that was made specifically to be another location for the students to hang out. It's a moody building that is constructed out of a wood and has a moody lighting (Either blue, red, or another color). It has a large circular stage in the center of it, and it's surrounded by tables. Surrounding the tables are booths, built up to give everyone a bit of privacy. Staffed by Students and Teachers in their spare time, The Cafe is basically a restaurant. While people primarily get drinks from here, people can also order finger foods. They aren't free, however students have to pay for them. The stage is sometimes used for scheduled performances by students.

Another truth about the Academy is that plenty of people get injured. Which is why a large hospital was set up. Easily one of the largest sections of the Academy, the Hospital is three floors that are all lined with Patient Rooms, ICUs and ERs. Along with a special section for Power Related problems. The Hospital is staffed by a team of Doctors, Nurses, and Surgeons, ready to serve the students. The Hospital has its own Common Rooms, Lounge, and Cafeteria.

Making up the center of the Domestic Wing is the Garden, and is the prettiest sight in the whole academy. It has plenty of different flowers and other forms of exotic plant life that was imported from all over the world. A location that is set up much like a park, with pathways set up that are surrounded by plants and trees which makes it a great place for a walk. It also has a few small ponds and rivers, which have bridges built over them and has plenty of aquatic plants. Overall, it has an oval shape. It has a glass ceiling over top of it, that is incredibly thick and hard to pierce. It leads into all the other wings, so plenty of people pass through here to get to their destination.

The education of the students is the second most important aspect of the academy, and the Academy offers only the best. The building is several floors of hundreds of different rooms that are usually interchanged throughout the school year to teach different subjects. Each of the classrooms is equipped with a desk and various projectors to provide the best education out there.

The center of independent self-learning, this building is massive and loaded to the brim with what seems to be every book known to man. The tall bookcases tend to form a maze that students can easily get lost in, but the secretaries are always willing to help a student get a book. The library provides a quiet room for club meetings, study groups, and just a quiet place to relax - the library also hosts a computer lab and free usage computers. However, the Library is closed off by students by nightfall.

A special building where certain science courses are taught, it's also a location where technology, medicine, and other such things, are developed by the students. As the Academy is big on contributing to the world at large, it encourages brainy students to develop cutting-edge technology and conduct experiments. However, it's the most secure out of all of the locations in the Academy, and it requires special permission to even get inside.

An essential part of the Academy; the training hall is a set of several different rooms all with the purpose of training students to use their powers. Each room is specialized for a different form of training, one room for Elemental types, another for Super-System types. These rooms aren't all for training powers - it also helps with physical readiness, and training with other forms of combat readiness such as shooting galleries, and so on. Naturally, these rooms are extremely durable, capable of taking a beating without even a dent. Some of these rooms are freely available to be used by the students, others are private, and closed off.

A location where Students come to have friendly duels... and resolve their feuds. The Arena was made for Students to go head-to-head in nonlethal combat, so the Arena is separated into large rooms that have different layouts, with an observation deck far above the action for people to spectate. The combat rooms are made out of the same metal that the Cells in the Detention Center are made out of, it's shiny, smooth, and durable as hell (Enough to take even the strongest attack without a dent). The arena rooms are prepared depending on those who are fighting; if an Elemental-type fight the room will be littered with their element. The standard combat room is an oval-shaped room with plenty of walls for cover. Arena fights can have up to two teams of four, so obviously, Students may go into the arena alone or with friends. Students can challenge each other to the arena - Students can even challenge staff-members, though, there's an unspoken rule against it. Once the challenge has been accepted, both students will register the fight at the front desk before they begin the match. Each Arena fight is overseen by a referee and usually will call off the fight after a winner has been determined, or after the timer runs out. The fights in the arena are not deathmatches, they are non-lethal. In the case of an overly aggressive Student, the fight will be called off, and the aggressor will be placed in the detention center with the other team given the win.

There are people who would rather not fight in the arena, and rather than fight; the Game Stadium has plenty of nonviolent alternatives. From Capture the flag, Obstacle courses, Races, and other activities that are all tests of skill, so the best word for these competitions would be superhuman sports. The Stadium runs much like the Arena; separated into different rooms each with their own purpose and designs, prepared beforehand with supplies to assist with each student's powers. Students can compete alone, or in teams of four, and can challenge anyone. Unlike the Arena, it runs under a stricter set of rules; with the main one being no violent attacks are permitted. Much like other sports, they end once someone wins.
♦ CHARITY HILLS ♦
Charity Hills is situated on the northern edge of South Carolina's coast, close to North Carolina. Charity Hills was originally known as the Charity township which was a small community that was farming towns, but since it was a coastal city eventually many businesses came in and the location became a booming large scale. It started with a resort or two, but it really came into being when the many colleges moved in. It's hardly even though for being a farming community, with the very outskirts of the town being farmland. When the city was first booming, the Academy program grabbed the land they could while it was still ripe, and built Academy 003 around it. The city is known for its beautiful beaches, and many businesses, with many rivers incorporated into the city itself. The city is only a five-minute drive away from the Academy, and students are allowed to go into the town long as they are back by sundown. Charity Hills is fairly large and has a large population - with a small percentage of that population being Metahuman. However, the sentiment of Metahumans is fairly mixed given the high presence of the enigmatic Savior Foundation.
The Academy Program is an American organization that works in conjunction with the government in order to produce safe learning environments for young Metahumans to use their powers. They are a national organization that caters to this specific goal, there are five Academies based in North America. Each Academy is jam-packed with the best technology and learning environments a person can have.
The students are the purpose of the Academy, for they are trained in how to use their powers in accordance with FAMA standards. The students are given real skills so they can possibly survive out in the world, and the main thing the students are put through are trials, some of which are tackled in groups whilst others are faced alone. Students are scored based on how well they perform in these trials and those who score higher have a tendency to graduate at a faster rate. The Academy accepts a wide variation of student age groups, with ten years being the minimum age whilst the oldest tend to be found in their early twenties, all coming from a variety of different backgrounds. There are three types of students. "Fresh" students are the boys and girls that are brand new to the Academy. "Returning" students are those who have attended the Academy before, and didn't complete the process, or left. "Full" students are the people who choose to live on the Academy full time, either to get an education there or because they don't have a stable home to head back to. That's one thing that the Academy Program is known for - they house Metahumans who are wards of the state, where foster parents are incapable of taking them in.
The Academies are usually staffed by Metahumans (as that's the best way to teach someone how to use their powers), but they are also staffed by regular people. Many of these empowered teachers are known as Instructors. The Instructors are Metahumans that teach the students how to use their powers in efficient, safe and practical manners. There's a large team of them, though nowhere near as many students. Each of them specializes in a different type of power. Whether it's Elemental training, or Shape-shifting and transformations. They do all they can help their students.
To say the Academy program was a massive success would be an understatement; thousands of Metahumans attend the academies and leave fully prepared for society. After the first "official" Academy, which is now known as Academy 02, was created other academies were created across the US to provide training to young Metahumans. Following the success of the first Academy, the other thirty-two Academies were established. Despite the government's support, the Academy Program has become largely independent from the United State's government with minimal oversight beyond FAMA's involvement.
On that note, the Academy Program works very closely with FAMA - as the latter group often sends Metahumans to Academies to socially and academically develop in a safe learning environment, and come back with knowledge of how to properly apply their powers. Many students who attend the Academies find employment with FAMA and because of the deal between the Academy Program and the US government, there's always a few members of FAMA on hand at each Academy.
The Academy Program is a four-year program in which students train under the Academy's staff. After graduating from the Academy, students leave with a "Certificate" in which they are deemed fully trained by the Academy staff. Along with leaving the academy with a greater deal of control over their abilities, this can be helpful as they transfer into FAMA or similar programs. It takes the place of a school, offering the students a solid and sound education, and the Academies offer top of the line educational Programs. Some are more like training facilities that have less of a focus on education, and others are the inverse.
However, due to the high demand for Academies, not everyone has an opportunity to get in. Programs differ as some are free, while others are expensive. Many of the free Academies are more invitational, rather than applicable and to be invited, young Metahumans have to stand out to the Academy. Make news as a new and unexplored Metahuman. Or, be a troubled youth that was sent to the Academy by FAMA because they have nowhere else to go, or have been arrested and forced to attend. It is possible to apply to the Academy program, but it is a very difficult process. Possibly requiring a tie to someone or two.
Metahumans (sometimes called Deltahumans) are humans that were exposed to the Delta-Point Energy, or a Delta-Crystal, and had undergone a Manifestation Event. These Metahumans have gained abilities that defy the laws of nature, men with super-strength, children that can control, and women that can teleport are the tip of the iceberg. This manifestation event only occurs after a human being has developed a sufficient amount of Delta-Point energy within their body. The rate which this energy develops depends on how much a person is exposed to (Codenamed their Exposure Event) and if a person touches a crystal for a prolonged amount of time their energy will develop at a much faster rate than somebody who was briefly exposed. In a lot of cases, exposure to this energy will not cause a manifestation to occur, but 15% of humans who are exposed manifest and become Metahumans. It's unknown what causes a person to manifest as anyone of any sex, of any gender, is capable of manifesting, it's widely believed to be just chance. After many of them were covered, destroyed, or drained of all of their energy, it's fairly difficult to get exposed to the crystals and most are exposed to it by other Metahumans. There are two ways to manifest: Naturally, or Under High-Stress situations. If manifesting naturally, it can take over years for a Metahuman to manifest their powers. There seems to be a correlation between high-stress situations and the rapid growth of powers as many Metahumans who manifested.
Upon manifesting the Delta-Point Energy will completely flow within a person's being from their skin, all the way to their bones. It is normally invisible to the regular human eye, but when a Metahuman is straining themselves or using their power a great deal, their energy will show. When a Metahuman uses their power on the outside world, a small amount of the meta-human energy gets projected and focused in that area. Such as a Water-Elemental controlling a cup of water will get some of the energy projected into it, allowing them to manipulate the water inside of it until they cease to control and the energy returns to their body. However, this still leaves the energy in the area and can possibly cause others to manifest, this is very rare, though.
There are four types of Delta-Crystals/Delta-Point Energy that exist in the world: Type-Yellow (for those that have developed physical powers), Type-Red (for those who have gained an ability that pertains to manipulating the environment), Type-Blue (For those who have manifested a mental ability of some kind), Type-Green (for those who can alter the properties of other powers), and Type-White (those that have powers that don't fit the other categories). Depending on what kind of energy somebody is exposed to will dictate which type of power a Metahuman will develop. From either gaining the ability to manipulate the earth when exposed to red energy, read minds with Blue energy and so on. However, it's possible for these categories to blend together as it's also possible to get exposed to multiple different types of energy and will end up with a power that spans multiple categories. This is a rare type of Metahuman but these kinds of Metahumans are known as Type-Chromatic.
There is such a thing as powers being hereditary, but it is very rare within the Metahuman communities. When Metahumans have children, that child has a 95% higher chance to manifest an ability than anybody else. This is because, when a child is in the womb, the child is bathed with the energy and will grow and develop a similar power to their parents. However, the child will always take after the mother power-wise as they will be exposed to maternal energy more than paternal energy. This is why, if only one parent is a Metahuman, it's far more likely that the child will manifest if the mother possesses the powers. Even if the power is hereditary, the power will be different in certain ways, as nobody has the same one power. If the parents of a Metahuman are different types, there is a higher chance that the child will end up being a Type-Chromatic. Metahumans have a very particular effect attached to them: the Black Fall Effect. This has two main effects on the Metahuman population: firstly, all Meta-humans are subconsciously attracted to each other whether they want to or not. So subtly that it's next to impossible to even notice. It causes the shyest people to head out and interact or draws Metahuman to one location. The more Meta-humans that are around, the more intense this "flocking" effect will get.
Metahumans have an interesting relationship with the Delta-Crystals, as when in contact with a Delta-Crystal, a Metahuman receives a boost to their power as long as they remain in contact. This boost depends on which type of crystal a Metahuman is holding - as if they are a Type-Red holding a Type-Yellow, it'd be an incredibly minor boost to their ability. However, if the crystals are compatible, it'd be an insane upgrade to their powers. With one Metahuman being capable of doing city-changing feats while in contact with a crystal. Though, it will be an insane strain on the Metahuman and will increase their risk for ashing.
However, while powers are truly incredible, they come at a price, powers have a toll on the body and mind. Excessive and unrestrained use would cause what could be described as physical overexertion, and the Metahuman body gets strained from overuse. Pushing powers beyond their limits in high-stress situations cause even worse problems, and at it's most extreme, it may cause an effect known as "Ashing". This is basically an extremely deadly ailment where a Meta-human self-destructs, and their powers shut off, and all their cells will die at an alarmingly fast rate. Their cells will literally drop off their body like specs of ash, and this process will continue until there is absolutely nothing left of a Meta-human. This state is extremely deadly, and there's a mere 4% chance of survival - Even if an ashing victim does survive, there are some permanent physical damage (Amputation, Brain damage, loss of powers, etc, etc - Are a few to note) so it's considered a fate worse than death. Ashing is what Meta-humans truly fear, as any meta-human can ash if they are not careful.
It's possible for regular humans to ash if exposed to large amounts of Delta-Point Energy, and they are among the few that don't or can't manifest a power. This will largely occur if a person is in prolonged contact with the Delta-Point energy as it would take a large amount of energy for this to be possible. However, this can occur with the smallest amount of Delta-Point energy, and anyone who's not capable of manifesting can die from ashing.
Through the study of the crystals and the Delta-Point energy, there has been technology developed from them. They were noted to be a very potent energy source, and the energy can be harnessed in different ways. Most notably, by studying the energy, many organizations have created devices that can detect the energy within people and the crystals in the wild. Of course, these devices are considered to be a huge violation of privacy and are rarely employed. Then there are the simple Suppressant-Collars which are metal devices made to be wrapped around somebody's next that completely disables the usage of activation powers - for those whose powers are permanent changes, they have no effect on them. On the more insidious side, the mad scientists of the world have figured out means to give people powers: Serums. These serums are full of a glowing green liquid that infuses a person's body with the Metahuman energy and after the process is complete, they'll gain a superpower that corresponds with the color of the energy. These serums are usually sold to the highest bidder but are only capable of being purchased by those with a hefty chunk of change, but some people are just given the serums. It's unknown where these serums are coming from, or who are making them, but authorities are doing their best to find out.
In the summers of 1963, there was a sudden and abrupt meteor shower that wrought havoc over the skies of Earth, spreading bizarre crystals across the world wherever their debris made landfall. These crystals were infused with a strange radiation that would "infect" living beings that either came in contact with the crystals themselves or were in proximity and got infected with the crystal's energy. This gave rise to the "First Generation" of Metahumans as the first of few individuals with such abilities found their place in the world. While this first generation proved to be relative unknowns, rumors or bogeymen to all but a handful of informed figures, their presence in the world would gradually increase over the coming decades, eventually causing mass hysteria as rumors were proven true and sightings impossible to cover up. By the 1980s, this had led to waves of rioting, protests and even mass displays of religious fervor as the public digested the knowledge of their existence in various ways. Eventually, the governments of the world attempted to manage their Metahuman populations through regulation and incorporation into newly established government agencies, but even so great unrest had and still continues to persist even to the modern day. This manifestation of Metahumans would eventually be known as the Delta-Point Event and many theorize that it has happened before, and could happen again. After the Delta-Point Event, almost all the crystals were taken into government custody, but a few remained at large and it is theorized that they're growing in number.
♦ TYPES OF METAHUMANS ♦
♦ TYPE-YELLOW ♦
Nicknamed "Super-Systems", Type-Yellow Metahumans have been infected with the yellow form of the Delta-Point Energy. These Metahumans have abilities that affect the bodies of either themselves or people around them via highly specific reality warping. Type-Yellow Metahumans are easily the most diverse, and most common type of Metahuman out there, with a good half of all Metahumans being some type of Type-Yellow. There are two main types; Personal and Impersonal. Personal Type-Yellows ability is only on a personal level, and their power changes their biology or allows them to, and they are the more common type. Impersonal Type-Yellows are the opposite; their power allows them to alter the bodies of other people, and they are somewhat less common. They can range from transformations to enhanced physical abilities, healing and regeneration, flight, and so forth.
♦ TYPE-RED ♦
Known as "Elementals", the Type-Red crystals grant Metahumans the ability to control matter, most of the time a specific element. Type-Reds are the second most common type of Metahuman out there, but those of this type usually have the most versatile and potential out of any kind of Metahuman. Many of them are fairly straightforward; they have the ability to control and/or create a specific type of element. Usually, it's one, but there are a few that can control many different elements that are either related. However, it's rare, but it's possible when a child is the product of two Type-Red that they would get the ability to use both of the elements. While many Type-Reds are straightforward, there are many that have more complex and unique forms of manipulation. Type-Reds are fairly diverse as it is likely one type red out there for each type of matter there is. Type-Reds can manipulate fire, water, earth, air, electricity, light, sound, and so forth.
♦ TYPE-BLUE ♦
Labelled "Cerebral", the Type-Blue crystals were fairly uncommon and thus not a lot of Metahumans out there are Type-Blues. However, the few that fall under this category are among the most feared, as Type-Blues are Metahumans that have a mental ability of some kind. A majority of Type-Blues have some type of mind reading or telekinesis, but some have abilities such as clairvoyance, foresight, and so on. They are easily the opposite of Type-Yellows as their powers are the least diverse, with a few exceptions. Type-Blues are feared because a majority of them have an ability that gathers information, and that's considered a huge breach of privacy. However, there's a type that's even worse; those that have been nicknamed "Domination-Types." These Domination types have the ability to exert their will on other lifeforms in some way, from controlling animals to possibly mind and emotional control. The direct ability to control the human mind is incredibly rare, but not unheard of. Very few of them directly affect the environment except telekinetics, but there are some capable of weaponizing their mental power, and so forth. Powers that fall under Type-Blue would be Telekinesis, Telepathy, Retro and Precognition, Astral Projection, Mind Control, Enhanced Intelligence, etc.
♦ TYPE-GREEN ♦
Nicknamed "Power" types out of all of the Metahuman Types, you'd be hardpressed to come across a Type-Green as they are the second rarest type of Metahuman out there. Their abilities allow them to directly interact with the abilities of others or otherwise are a limited control of the Delta-Point energy itself. These Metahumans are easily the least predictable and are the most situational. Their abilities require coming in contact with another Metahuman, either direct or indirect, and otherwise a majority of them are powerless. However, there are very rare instances where a Power-Type has the ability to grant others with superpowers. Type-Greens are the most sought after by relevant groups - and have the largest targets on them with only Type-Blues being second. It's very rare, but some Type-Greens have the ability to give normal people powers. Abilities that fall under Type-Green are power charging, negating, replication, and other abilities that revolve around the manipulation of superpowers.
♦ TYPE-WHITE ♦
The white Delta-Point Crystals are a mystery and are rarely sighted, but Type-White Metahumans are those that have abilities that do not fit into the above category. They are nicknamed "Wild-card" types, as they have the strangest and most abstract of all abilities, and some of which have control over time and space itself. Because of this, it's very difficult to classify them and very few Metahumans out there are Type-Whites.
♦ TYPE-CHROMATIC ♦
Chromatic, or "Hybrid" types are the rare result when a Metahuman is exposed to two (or possibly more) different types of Delta-Point energy and are a very rare phenomenon. These Metahumans will manifest with a blend of the two types or will have one different power of each type. For an example of the former; a pyrokinetic may have flames that can burn the mind. For an example of the latter; a Tiger Metahuman may be able to produce lightning. It's completely random what kind of end result these Metahumans will produce, and difficult to classify. It's more likely to produce a Type-Chromatic when a Metahuman child is the product of two different Metahumans. These are the strangest type of Metahumans as there isn't a Delta-Crystal that directly creates them. However, Chromatic types are capable of gaining strength from two different types of Delta-Crystals and gives them a distinct advantage of other types.
♦ HIGH METAHUMAN POPULATIONS ♦
♦ VERTHAVEN ♦
Located in California, Verthaven was a massive metropolis centered in Southern California. However, it is best known for being the place the infamous Verthaven disaster took place, and it was promptly condemned afterward. Much of the beautiful city was destroyed, and after it was condemned, it was left to rot. Before, it was a coastal city that is Sandwiched between LA and San Francisco. It was known for its miles of beaches, and sea trade, and what it was also best known for is how it's carved up by a network of rivers. The main river is known as the Cross River and splits the city up into four halves by a cross. With hundreds of smaller rivers branching off from that one. Which the city was built around, and have well integrated into the city's layout. Which gives Verthaven a feel of Venice mixed with New York. Now, it's been reclaimed by nature. There are miles upon miles of flooded streets, and crumbling buildings, and it was the former location of the KINGFISHER/DOVE headquarters before it was destroyed. It hasn't been disturbed for years now, no one but the idiotic have braved the resting place of this tragedy. A few miles outside of Verthaven is the Verthaven Memorial Cemetery a graveyard in which all those who died in the disaster are buried. The whole cemetery is miles upon miles... and unfortunately, many of the graves are currently unmarked. It was known for its high amount of Metahumans, second to Black Fall in the United States. After the Verthaven disaster, a majority of them were killed, and the survivors went to Baybridge and Highroller Heights.
♦ BLACK FALL ♦
The proclaimed "The City of Freaks", Black Fall is famous because it has the most Metahumans congregated into one City (1% of all Metahumans live in Black Fall) and thus it is easily the most important location for Metahumans. The city went from a small fishing town to a major hub for gamblers, tourists, businessmen, and families, in the course of a few centuries. It contains people of almost every ethnic background and it is located in Pennsylvania, on the Delaware River, not too far away from Philadelphia. It is split down the middle by the river, with one part of the city on each side. Technically it is apart of New Jersey too, since one side of Black Fall is technically on the state of New Jersey. The West side of the city is known as "Old World Black Fall" where the city started. It has most of the population centers and major buildings that have been there from the start. The East side of the city is known as "New Black Fall" which is much more commercialized. It contains most of the clubs, casinos, and mansions. Black Falls holds the FAMA east coast headquarters.
♦ BAYBRIDGE ♦
Baybridge started out as several smaller towns that grew in size and it was decided that they would be one massive city, with the city being named after the massive bridge that connects it to the outside world. Baybridge is east of Seattle, though the city is much like it (though some areas can also be compared to Spokane or Bellingham). It's technically much larger than Seattle, but much of Baybridge's acres of land consist of miles and miles of woodland, farmlands, and etc. Not every inch of Baybridge consists of a sprawling concrete jungle. Baybridge isn't that much different from other major cities in the US. It has tall skyscrapers, booming businesses, and whatnot. The city has a little bit of everything. It's not particularly known for its tourist attractions, nor it's large amounts boom of tourists. Recently, Baybridge received a boom in population as people moved towards it in the aftermath of the Verthaven disaster. Most notably, Baybridge was selected to be the headquarters of the newly formed FAMA branch of the government which drew their Agents and Metahumans to the city. This increase in population gave Baybridge an economic boost and more or less turned Baybridge into one of the many Metahuman hotspots and Baybridge currently has the second highest population of Metahumans in the United States.
♦ ORGANIZATIONS ♦
♦ FAMA ♦
The Federal Agency of Metahuman Affairs (Shortened to FAMA) is the Metahuman regulation agency that is responsible for the regulation of Metahumans after the rebranding of KINGFISHER/DOVE. Formed in 2015, they are an organization that is split into four departments; Metahuman Welfare, Public Affairs, Research, and Security. The first organization is more of a social services group that promotes the well-being, the physical and mental health of Metahumans. Welfare keeps track of all Metahumans that are registered and constantly gives support to these Metahumans so they aren't roped into a gang or become a super criminal. Public Affairs is more about dealing with Metahuman social issues and attempting to change the public perception of them for the best. The Research department solely focuses on trying to figure out how these Metahumans tick and developing new technology and methods to handle rogue Metahumans. Security is the largest department and the one tasked with the detainment of Metahumans who abuse their powers. FAMA is volunteer-based, long as people meet a certain set of requirements, they can apply to join the Agency. However, they are fairly strict with their recruitment and primarily hire those with the required experience, though there have been exceptions made. FAMA consists of both regular humans and Metahumans, as the latter are considered valuable assets in the never-ending battle against hostile Metahumans. The organization is considered to be a paramilitary organization as agents are given special training on how to handle various Metahuman threats, and how to handle certain situations that are Metahuman related. Field Agents of FAMA wear heavy armor that is resistant to most forms of Metahuman abilities and is heavily armed with top of the line firearms and other equipment (Nullification collars, taser darts, containment foam). The Agency has an outpost in every major city and they are in fact designated from a one to hundred number depending on the size of the city (e.g. New York City is 1, Los Angeles is 3, and so on) and each outpost has a Director who oversees all operations within the city. Smaller towns have agents delegated from the closest major outpost. On the west and east coast, there is a national headquarters where a majority of operations are run out of. FAMA is what largely keeps watch over the Academy Program.
♦ REAPER ♦
Nemesis of the FAMA and MAVERICK organizations, REAPER is a strange and heavily armed paramilitary terrorist group. They are lead by the mysterious Abel, a massive man who is feared globally as he has killed dozens of politicians, researchers, millionaires and beyond. He is incredibly difficult to kill as he is seeming a Metahuman that is insanely strong and durable. Assisted by a strange portal technology, REAPER gets right where they need to go and then they vanish without a trace. Each member of REAPER is clad in black armor that covers them from head to toe, helmets that distort their voice, and are heavily armed. In the event that one of them dies (or are about to die), they are equipped with a strange chemical that dissolves their body down to the DNA and leaves no trace. Because of this, it's incredibly difficult to identify members of REAPER and trace where they came from. However, several REAPERS are Metahumans, with the elite members of the group being all Metahuman shock troopers. It's difficult to pinpoint where REAPER will target as they are responsible for hundreds of assassinations, kidnappings, and other terrorist attacks globally. Most notably KINGFISHER went to war with REAPER before and during the Verthaven disaster that made them known globally.
♦ DOVE/KINGFISHER (Defunct) ♦
After the Delta-Point Event KINGFISHER and DOVE were established as a means of regulating these groups. Each was dedicated to a different field; DOVE's best interest is the protection, social and mental development of Metahumans, and taking steps to prevent them from becoming threats in the future. While KINGFISHER's primary objective is the investigation, apprehending, and detainment of Metahumans who have broken the law. Both organizations work hand in hand, as they are technically two sides of the same coin. They were fairly effective, but rumors of brutality and corruption were rampant, and some feared they were too independent for their own good. However, once the Verthaven Disaster occurred and the war with REAPER was publicized, the government saw the faults in the two organizations and they were both dissolved. Eventually, the FAMA was introduced with the best of both organizations and more government supervision.
♦ THE VERTHAVEN DISASTER ♦
In the summer of 2014, the REAPER group moved in on the city of Verthaven and was selling serums that granted superpowers to the gangs of the city. Which turned the city almost on its head overnight as the gangs were armed with new weapons After many skirmishes with KINGFISHER, it was discovered that Verthaven was the primary headquarters for the REAPER group. Upon that discovery, almost every government agency moved in on the city, and a massive war between the terrorist group erupted. Turning the city into an enormous war zone that caused countless property damage, killed many in the crossfire, and displaced hundreds. The war was reaching national news as many were protesting the decisions behind the war with REAPER, calling it overly destructive. This war against REAPER went on for three months as both sides made significant progress against each other. However, the situation changed drastically when a new Metahuman emerged from the shadows. Calling herself "The Devil of Verthaven", this woman was a drug addict whose husband was killed in the crossfire between KINGFISHER and REAPER, and she also got her hands on a power serum. That serum gave her the strongest power in the whole world, being capable of creating an army of monsters and control the weather on a macro-scale. The Devil's first act was to unleash her dark army upon the world, and her second was to make the city dangerous to traverse with incredibly dangerous weather patterns. Her goal was to get revenge against a world that took everything from her.
Evacuation efforts were underway, but the Devil threatened to destroy the whole world. It's hard to discover who was responsible for it, but a massive energy barrier was erected over Verthaven. This barrier was immune to any type of superpower and was invulnerable to harm - thus trapping everyone with the monster. Because everyone was trapped, the Devil was free to kill indiscriminately and the population of nearly a million was reduced to thousands in less than a month. In a final bid to destroy the Devil, KINGFISHER and REAPER teamed up and engaged in one final battle against her, killing her with an experimental weapon. Once her death was reported the dome came down and it seemed that the dust had settled.
The opposite had occurred as the world was outraged at how KINGFISHER and DOVE handled the situation and got thousands of people killed rather than evacuating them. KINGFISHER and DOVE were blamed for the barrier even though it's still unknown who created it, which made the sentiments towards KINGFISHER when they were fighting REAPER even worse. In the end, it was decided that KINGFISHER and DOVE would be dissolved, and a new organization would replace them.
However, after the disaster, more Delta-Point Crystals were seemingly being found in places where they shouldn't have been.
