Bendy and the Ink Machine AU RP

Hiya folks! We all know Henry's tale of how he got his ol' pal's letter, and his misadventures in the ol' studio, right? Well, whaddaya think would happen if Henry never came to the studio? Hm? Did ya think Joey's work would just fade into obscurity? That we all of his works would just be forgotten?

Well, guess what?

Some mook genius thought it would be a great idea to get Joey Drew Productions up and running again after Joey and the others failed miserably quit. So, in the year 2017, Boris and I are popular! We're just as popular as that Mouse couple and their friends from whazzit's name's productions. Yeah! We even have our own theme park now! Ain't that something?

Oh! That's right! I never introduced myself, did I? Pleased to meet ya! Hoped ya guessed my name.

Well, despite how much the studio has grown, the old studio where Boris and I got our start still stands to this day. I remember when that traitor Joey sent that letter to the other traitor Henry. He never came. Meh, I'm not complaining. But ya know...Those who enter that studio, never came out again. Gee, I wonder why. That's not the weirdest part. The weirdest part is that despite that fact, there are others who still go to that studio. Humans are weird, huh?

Okay, as you can tell, this is a Bendy and the Ink Machine AU RP, where Henry never went to the studio, and Joey Drew Productions is successful in the present day and time. The story will focus on you (the player characters). As the GM, I will be controlling the environment and the NPC's. Note that Bendy and the Ink Machine is created by theMeatly. So, all credit for the ideas and canon characters go to them. Also, THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE! You have been warned.

Anywho....onto the rules.

Rules

*COMMUNICATION! It's important. If something comes up and you can't post for whatever reason, please let me or a CO-GM know. I'll do my best to do the same.

*After posting in the IC, wait until at least two other players have posted before you post again.

*All of the Player Characters will be Human. No cartoon characters like Bendy, Boris, and Alice please.

*For character creation, we are going to try something a little different. This is in regards to your characters' Motivations. Your character's motivation will be determined by chance. Now, before you cry foul about how the motivation you get would make your character...well, Out of Character, you can choose what kind of motivation your character would have. There are four kinds of motivation in this RP. These kinds are Money, Knowledge/Curiosity, Secrets, and Random. More details about them will be covered in the Motivations Section. Note that Motivations may have a character's occupation/family relations/past event covered, but not so much that it's left you without any room for your own ideas. I have a feeling that this not only spice up the RP, but it will also challenge you, the writer, to implement and play with the motivation, and come out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself and have fun with it!

* In order to pick a Motivation, either post or PM me the type of Motivation and a number within the parameters given in the Motivations section. The parameters are the motivations that I have prepared as of now. If Inspiration strikes me once again, then the parameters may change at a later date.

*This is more of a tip than anything, but you can ask for a motivation first before you create a character, just as much as you can create a character before asking for a motivation. However you want to proceed is up to you.

*Once you have a motivation, don't tell anyone else, unless a player's character actually asks your character about it. (Who would tell others about their motivations for their actions when they weren't asked about it?)

*If you have an idea of your own for your Motivation, PM me and we can discuss it.

*Considering that this is a thriller/horror RP, I'm going to limit the number of Party Members to 5 PCs to a Party. Now, don't think for a second that this means I'm restricting the RP to 5 RPers. This means that if there are 10 RPers interested in playing, there will be two BATIM RPs, one for Group A (of 5 players) and one for Group B (of 5 players). If we get 10 RPers right here in the Interest Check, before any of the actual BATIM RPs are posted, then the groups will be determined by a Random Generator. If someone expresses interest at a later date, then they'll join a group where there are spaces available.

*Keep an eye peeled on your PMs during the game. You never know what may happen when you're alone.

*In case I forgot any rules or something comes up that needs a rule, I will add more here.

*This will be a slow paced RP. I do not expect you to post every day, and I won't be able to post every day either. Everyone has a life outside of RP. If we need to, we can establish a posting order.

*If you read the rules, fill in the blank: "Boris the Wolf in ___________" (Kudos to whoever knows which Youtube read that outloud in his playthrough)

*Last, but not least, is have fun!

Motivations

Here are your Motivation Types and what they mean.

Money
- This is kind of self-explanatory. This means that your character wants (or needs) more money in their life, and they see the old studio, and whatever's inside, as an excellent opportunity to obtain those finances.

- For this category, pick a number between 1 to 5.

Knowledge/Curiosity
- This means that your character has questions that they want answered regarding the old studio and anything related to it. That or they may just be the curious sort to have entered. Either way, you want to know what's going on, and you want to learn what secrets are hidden from the public. What you do with the knowledge depends on your character.

- For this category pick a number between 1 to 7.

Secrets
- Consider this the polar opposite of Knowledge/Curiosity. This is where your character knows a truth, and their goal is to keep it secret from the rest of the world. For them, the truth might be very inconvenient, flat out embarrassing, or capable of destroying a character's life.

- Now this is where the other motivations that couldn't be listed under the other three go. This is also for those character who may be considered as wild cards, jokers, or just the plain old unpredictable types. Also, Frisk does have a cell phone, but I'm not sure if that would work with Fox's and Samus's technology.

Frisk watched as Bartz jumped out of his seat and front flipped to Frisk's side. They watched as the chocobo was called to their side, and Bartz easily jumped onto the bird's back. Frisk smiled at the offered hand and listened to Bartz as they asked and introduced himself. The child accepted his hand and answered "Yeah! It's nice to meet you, Bartz. I'm Frisk Dreemurr," Frisk managed to clamber onto the chocobo's back with Bartz's help. Their short stature made it harder for them to jump onto the chocobo. But once they were on, Frisk grinned at Bartz, before pointing towards where the thief and Lumas zoomed off, and called with an excited energy, "CHAAAARGE!" After saying that though, they grinned at Bartz hesitantly and apologized, realizing that they might have come off as rude by shouting that, "Sorry, I've always wanted to say that," Could anyone blame them? This was their first time riding a chocobo and it filled them with determination.

Shantae looked to the blocky man as he seemed to approach her and start talking to her, while the other two he had been speaking with seemed to stare at her. The guy with the gemstones seemed to be looking at her hair while the other was staring at her body. Suffice to say, it was kind of uncomfortable. She answered the blocky guy first since he spoke first and was polite about it, trying to not let her discomfort show, "I'm actually new in town. My name is Shantae. Nice to meet you,"

She looked to Moxxi when she asked what she wanted in an inappropriate manner, and she raised an eyebrow. What was with this bartender? She answered politely, "I don't need anything to eat right now, thanks. I'm actually investigating a disappearance and I was wondering if you or anyone else saw the person I'm looking for?" After Moxxi asked what the person looked like, Shantae proceeded to give a description of what Risky Boots' appearance. Shantae figured that saying that Risky Boots is a pirate captain would not be a wise idea. The answer she got back from Moxxi was a shake of her head and a no. But Moxxi did suggest trying the Smash Arena.

It may be a long shot, but maybe Risky would crash the fighting arena if there were prizes offered. But without Tinkerbats? Hmmm....

Frisk had their classic face of stoicism as they watched and waited patiently for the person in front of them to ask. They remained silent and watched as Bartz tried to assuage any surprise or negative reactions from Frisk and anyone else who may have overheard, until he fell out of his seat. Frisk remained stoic and silent as Bartz got himself back up and blatantly lied about why he fell over. Watching Bartz kind of reminded Frisk of their friends. He was weird, but in a good way! And this was kinda funny to watch.

Frisk's stoicism was broken by their own snickers that soon turned into innocent laughter. After Frisk calmed down a bit, (knowing that laughter might not be appropriate at a funeral), they wiped away a tear and said to Bartz, "Wow, that was funny Mister. Don't worry, it's okay. I don't really know Mario personally myself," They then continued once any sign of their laughter was gone, "I've heard Mario was a legendary hero. He always came to others' rescue and was..." Frisk looked to Luigi and finished, with a heavy weight on their words, "And was a wonderful brother. Someone you could really depend on," They couldn't help but remember the nightmares showing how Frisk killed Papyrus and they couldn't help but think of how Sans might have felt in that case.

Frisk gasped loudly at the sight of a black streak. A cat like ninja had appeared and just stole the hat and the jar of lights! The child watched and listened carefully, taking what was happening into account before deciding a course of action. A lady just sent three stars after the lights, so that'll help with them finding the thief. The brother had just chased after the thief...with a scary bloodlust in his eyes. Cloud was going to intercept, the flying girl was going to shadow it.

So, the best course of action would be to give chase...and make sure that Luigi didn't do anything he'd regret.

Unfortunately, there was one problem: Frisk may be a fast runner when certain monsters (*coughUndynecough*) tried to kill them, but they doubted that they could keep up that kind of pace long enough to catch up to the thief. They looked at the stranger and remembered seeing them interact with the large yellow bird. With that in mind, Frisk spoke to Bartz,

"Woah! Did you see that?! We've gotta do something! But I don't think I can run that fast,"

They then trotted up to Boko and they asked Bartz as they did, "Maybe he can help?"

I know that Frisk would definitely want to help the heroes with the thief, and they could just ride on the chocobo with Bartz, if that's possible.

Frisk looked around after they sat down and they immediately noticed that the big guy in the suit was now flying...in a cloth chair? He was speaking with the fish girl who was also flying. Frisk watched them leave in awe as they seemed to be busy with their own discussion. Frisk glanced over to Cloud and the big guy with the tall woman and noticed that they were still talking with each other. There was a man talking to...a red hedgehog? Frisk could tell that the man wasn't exactly being too friendly about it. They hoped that there wouldn't be a fight here...

Frisk jumped a little when they heard a voice next to them, and the looked to see that it was another person. They were definitely older than they were, but not too old. Frisk nodded after the guy spoke to them, and answered with a slight smile, keeping their voice at a reasonable indoor tone, "Sure. But I think it's safe to talk. The ceremony seems to be done. What's up?"

Frisk did think to keep an eye on the confrontation nearby, just in case a fight broke out and Frisk needed to stop it. Hopefully their experience as an ambassador would help with that. In the meantime, Frisk looked to Bartz, waiting for him to ask.

"WHAAAAT?! Risky Boots is missing?!"
Shantae couldn't believe what the letter read, let alone that this was a cry for help from the Tinkerbat that stood in front of her, Bolo, Sky, and Uncle Mimic. The Tinkerbat nodded silently, seeming unaware that Shantae had asked her question more out of rhetorical shock than anything else. She could hear her friends and family voice their shock and skepticism,
"Woah! Seriously?!"
"I don't know Shantae...I wouldn't put it past Risky if this was some kind of trap, or if there was some elaborate plan going on,"
"Sky's right, Shantae. Risky may be up to something..."

Shantae turned to face her friends and uncle, and she commented, "Still, this is something worth investigating! If Risky really is in some kind of trouble, then I should help. And if this is a trap, then it might be better to stop her wherever she is, then just leave her be and risk putting Sequin Land in trouble," She also wondered to herself as to why the Tinkerbats were asking for help and didn't seem to know where Risky Boots was. If there really was a trap, why were they left in the dark? The old Pirate Captain was defeated a while ago, and so his curse over the Tinkerbats and Risky's items was lifted.

Shantae snapped out of her thoughts when the Tinkerbat ran out and another creature on a cloud appeared with a note. Shantae took a look at the note and she told her friends after reading it, "A call for heroes to deal with the Mugen Virus? Why do I get the feeling that this is connected to Risky Boots' disappearance?"

However Shantae did realize that if she left Scuttle Town in order to pursue this, then she might get fired from the position of Guardian Genie...Again....

The thought must have been obvious on Shantae's face, because Sky seemed to notice and she spoke up, "Hey, leave Scuttle Town and Mayor Scuttlebutt to us, Shantae. We'll make sure everything's okay here while you go investigate,"

Shantae smiled at her friends as she answered, "Thank you, you guys! I'll be back before you know it!" She then pointed to the yes option and she was teleported to Platform City.

A day after Shantae answered the call for help, she found herself wandering through the town. She groaned to herself, "Ugh...I should have asked for directions on where heroes are supposed to go," She perked up as she told herself, "Well, I guess this is a good opportunity for me to look around and see if anyone's seen her,"

She wandered through the streets, until eventually, she found the Barrel Roll Pub. She ruminated "A pub! Pirates usually like going to places like these! Maybe someone saw her here?" She didn't hesitate to enter the pub, and she looked around the room as she walked in.

There were three customers, one of whom was noticeably...blocky. She couldn't help wince as she thought, "Yikes! Did he read a Mummy's Curse out loud? It looks he got a really bad one! Well, at least he's still alive..." She then took a look at the other two. One looked pretty gaudy with the large amount of crystals around him and sapphire armor. All of which were reflecting sunlight back into her eyes. Well, at least he's going to make some girl happy that's for sure. The last of the customers seemed to be normal out of the three of them despite the foreign clothes to her. Nothing much to note except for the dog that was on the stool next to his.

She walked forwards, and took a seat, at the bar hoping to ask the bartender some questions first before talking to the customers.
