"Atchoo!"
"Bah, this place really is cold!"
Lucie and her company were in a mission of exterminating a tribe of frost trolls who had been terrorizing the northern territory. Apparently, according to the reports, the various tribes had joined together to form a single army that was enough to overwhelm the troops stationed there. And that was why the local lord asked for help from the Church. 500 trolls were reported to be seen. Normally, the Church would send an equal number of soldiers to fight such a force. However, Lucie had taken it to herself to take the job, and she deemed it enough that her elite squad would be enough to face them.
A great holy knight usually would have numerous soldiers under their control. However, Lucie preferred to have a bunch of strong people with her instead, personally handpicked by her via trial in combat with her. She didn't want weaklings under her command as they would just die in combat. Thus, everyone under her command respected her as they had personally tasted her strength themselves.
"And I badly need a piss as well. Just my luck!"
"Captain, I don't believe we need to hear that."
Lucie just laughed back hearing said words coming from her right-hand aide. Most people thought of her as this delicate girl just because of her looks. But her subordinates knew very well that she was one hell of a tomboy and a battle maniac. She didn't give much thought about proper decorum.
"Captain, there they are!"
They stopped their horses in their tracks instantly. Thanks to the blizzard that was currently raging around them, they didn't have that good of a vision. But it was enough that they could tell there was a mass of litte lights on the valley down below.
"Alright people! You know what to do!" Lucie gallantly said as she jumped down from her horse. "Like usual, fight to your heart's content! Leave no survivors! Bring these evildoers to the justice of the White God! And finish it quick as I'm already tired being in this blizzard, bursting to pee like this!"
"Yes, Captain!" her subordinates replied in unison.
What ensued afterwards was simply a massacre.
Lucie herself could probably take them all own with her ability as she judged them all evil for destroying three human villages and killing all their occupants. Having her companions with her was simply overkill. Lucie's face was smiling with joy as she cut down trolls after trolls, her white cloak fluttering in the wind, giving her the appearance of the angel of death. She didn't even need to use her ability. And she made sure to avoid the splatter of blood and gore coming from the trolls as she wouldn't want to dirty her cloak. She set the same standard to the rest of her troops as she didn't like the sight of a holy knight with bloodstained clothing. It wouldn't befit their status as the agents of justice and order.
Once they finished, they didn't even bother burning the corpses as the blizzard would just bury them all under the snow.
"Great job everyone! Anyone injured?" she asked her subordinates after they gathered post-battle.
"No one, Captain! We're all fine!" they all responded. Lucie could see how some of them had light wounds here and there but it was nothing that would really hinder them. Her subordinates weren't pansies. They could take such wounds just fine without running to the medic.
"Good! Then let's go back at once! I'm this close to wetting my breeches here!"
Her subordinates laughed merrily hearing that. They mostly consist of burly old men and they could respect how casual Lucie was acting towards them. Some of them didn't actually officially become a holy knight as they were recruited when they were mercenaries and adventurers by Lucie. And in their world, crass words like these were common. Lucie only cared how strong they were and how dedicated they were to justice. So she granted them special privileges to become her subordinates right away. Of course, this led to naysayers amongst the more orthodox of the church, but she simply paid them no heed. They were her army, and it was her right to choose whom she would bring to battle.
