Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

@Jbcool, please update this RP.

I'll get on this the'morrow.

I know what you're thinking - JB, why are you making another RP? And (probably) why the Hell am I doing an idea that has clearly been done before...many times...on this forum alone.

Well, the first answer is that I just finished watching the 2016 version of the Magnificent Seven, then got thinking on Firefly and the like, then about space and so on; the answer to the second question is a simply 'why not'?

Although I do intend to write a fuller explanation/detail if/when I get an OOC up, I shall write a short summary for now.

In an undisclosed time in the future, the world has become far too overpopulated, resources are dwindling and the Planetary Government can no longer sustain so many people - several colonising 'missions' have been sent into space before, but none have ever been heard from again. Our characters, with an outer veneer of the Wild West but the technology and such of 'the future' I.E. Stetson hats and chaps but laser-firing Peacemakers and robotic horses, are part of the newest batch of colonists/homesteaders/idiots to take on the challenge of the Trail of Stars to make their homes on a colonisable planet somewhere out there.

Not an original idea I'll admit (damn you, Westworld!), but an idea I would like to try out nonetheless; we will need characters from all walks of life, all ethnic groups etc, and so forth, so in that at least the sky is the limit. I will say now though that this will be based on post-Civil War USA and will include everything that went with it I.E. Racial prejudice, rough-and-ready handling of the 'law' and so on and so forth.

I'm just throwing this idea out there because personally I think it'd be a fun ride, no matter the ending!

If anyone's with me, then please do speak up. If not, well, it'll just be another of my many RPs consigned to history.

My thanks for your time.

P.S.

As much as he wished to hear more of an extended conversation between the otherwise isolated pair, and he did, the Shadow Warrior could not stand idly by while this idiot human divulged everything - from their eventual goals to all their encounters thus far – to an Elf that had suddenly appeared out of the jungle; an oddly calm and dare he say sane figure, at least for one who had apparently been tramping about this humid hell-hole for the gods knew how long.

Although he did not need to look back over his shoulder to know that Balthazar was no longer able to be seen, his flesh in goosebumps and his hairs standing on end simply from the proximity to the use of magic, he did take a quick glance behind and saw exactly what he had expected – nothing.

Clearly the Marienburger was more than he appeared to be, but for now the Asur had other 'fish to fry'...

“Darren,” he said simply, stepping from the undergrowth with his bow held low but his arrow still nocked to it, “please step away from our guest, if you would be so kind.”

He did not wait for the wizard to comply, standing from his half-crouch to his full height and turning his almost dead gaze on the only other person currently visible to the naked eye.

“Thirodaen, was it?” Came the careful question, a veil in front of so many threats, pleasant to hear but certainly tipped with venom, “it is a pleasure to meet another Asur so far from our beloved home...” his soft steps took him about the other Elf in a circular motion, one that did not cease even as he went on speaking, “speaking of which, you have an unusual accent, where is it you would be from...cousin?”
"Seigneur De Vigny, allow me to introduce Alison le Cordelier ... my daughter."

I... I am sorry. I was not pissed in the least. I did not realize I had come across that way. Please forgive me, everyone. I will tread more cautiously.

YOU DISHONOUR THE TEMPLE, AND YOUR FAMILY! SHAMFRU DISPRAY!

Nah, I'm just messing, but using 'GTFO' in an RP post is really odd.

Watch-captain Roa, is it known where in the enemy vessel the Assault Ram has impacted? Such information would improve our ability to find the bridge. In a similar vein, where is the shadowfield located on this type of vessel?

There was a crackle over the Kill-teams helm-voxes, a squad wide signal being broadcast, a slight crackle showing that something was clearly trying to jam them nevertheless.

Kill-team Epsilon, you have emerged in the lower levels of the ship and will need to fight your way toward the top. The layout of Dark Eldar vessels are something of a mystery to Imperial authorities, but we are the Deathwatch...” there was a pause and another crackle of comms “...take the corridor forward until you reach a junction, there should be several passages, the left hand passage should lead to the shadowfield generator; this section of the ship will be particularly well-guarded, make no mistake! The right-hand corridor will help you gain ground toward the bridge of the vessel, but as with the generator there will be fierce resistance.

Perhaps the oddest thing about the teams current location were not the screams and shrieks that seemed to surround them, nor the faint sounds of projectiles impacting on the cruisers hull...no...it was the complete lack of anyone. There were no warriors storming toward them, no Druchii striking from the shadows at them, from the dimly lit corridors formed of almost purple metals there came no nearby sounds at all.

You are currently approaching the slave-pens and torture chambers, if our intelligence is correct, be advised th-

The signal went dead, only static replacing it, signalling either a successful jamming attempt by the enemy..or the destruction of the Imperial cruiser from whence they had arrived.

Each step took them closer to something, the tension in the air almost palpable, and if a sense of dread was something that an Astartes could feel – like any normal mortal – then they assuredly would have drowned in it.
Suddenly, one of the pipes along the damaged wall burst and started shooting fumes into the corridor. Powerarmor cogitators immediately identified the vapors spectroscopicly as steam, but it could have been anything noxious on a xeno vessel. It was a sign to gtfo before this corridor caught fire for whatever reason.

"Killteam advance!" Everyone was in position, and with eyes on Drascal and Victor, Aldaric gave the order to move. Sounds were already moving toward them from in front, and now the view in back was obscured by white clouds. There was little time before the Dark Eldar realized that they had been boarded. A stormshield and bolterfire would be the first and possibly only thing the xenos would witness before hitting the floor.

Dude, were you pissed when you wrote this?

The spelling mistakes and the use of 'gtfo' alone make it a post that I believe is below you. :(
Super-stealthy Eldar bump...

@Wraithblade6@Ollumhammersong

I await your posts at your leisure...

And, yes, you are D'artagnan - the lamest of all Musketeers!
@Sophrus@Wraithblade6@Necroes@BCTheEntity@DepressedSoviet@Hank@Bright_Ops

Right.

After reading through this little 'debate', and much thinking, my final decision is this;

@Necroes, you are essentially running an RP within an RP (RPception), to the possible detriment of the other players and RP as a whole. While I myself don't have a problem with two daemons, and am happy for you to keep going with them, I will admit that an army of them is a no-no. You want a pack of them (a few Bloodletters and Horrors etc) then I'll allow it, but nothing constituting an army.

As @Sophrus rightly stated, just the presence of so many daemons - even for a brief time - would make the Imperial counter-response so lethal and so large that there'd be no point in us even continuing the RP...we'd all be dead after having our arses purged.

In short, keep it to an appropriate level I.E. Similar to the rest of the players, even the most powerful of us being no higher or more powerful than an Astartes.

That's my decision.

As for the rest of you, feel free to go deeper into the hulk, get attacked by slithery Tyranids or write a co-op post as BC is doing; for the record, there are no Eldar aboard the hulk, just mutants, cultists and Tyranids.
