@Reflection Hey hi. Can I bring back my Edmond Dantes Assassin?
@PlatinumSkinkI will also note Amelia didn't send Driffloon out. She said she could but she didn't for the reasons that she stated. Still, this could be interesting.

"Well, finding Cacnea isn't all that hard. They're all around us." Amelia pointed out before pointing to a group of the cacti-like pokemon to their left, right, and slightly ahead. "So if you want to catch one go right ahead. As for my plan, it really isn't much of a plan. I could use Driffloon to scout for us I suppose, though I'm not sure how big this desert is and I don't want to end up losing her in here, since this isn't an environment any of my pokemon are meant to live or be in. So I'd rather use them as little as possible."

With her part said, he would proceed onward, trying to avoid any encounters that might turn hostile, her focus on getting to her destination and then getting out of here as quickly as possible. She didn't like this kind of environment and already missed the sight of grass and trees. That being said, if Dawkin stopped to catch a Cacnea, she would stop as well and let him accomplish his goal.

"That sounds like a good idea. But I don't really know where the ruin is, so we might end up getting lost." Amelia said "But I guess if we just keep going straight, we might hit it eventually. So, I guess all we can do is hope and pray that we don't get lost."

With that, she pulled out her umbrella and opened it up before setting out to enter the desert and get to her next destination in mind.

Behind the pair, Joshua smiled and followed but kept his distance, allowing the children to take the lead and determine how this all played out in the end.

Joshua listened to Dawkin speak without making the slightest sign of interrupting. He was surprised that the boys little explosion of anger was so contained. Kid was definitely the kind to keep his cool in tense situations and he could appreciate that. In fact, probably much to Dawkin's chagrin, Joshua actually smiled at the boys angry responses. When the boy finally finished and left with a huff, Joshua made no attempt to stop him and let him leave.

Amelia simply watched the exchange in silence with a worried expression on her face.
"Are you sure you want to let him go?" She asked.

"No, I don't but it seems better if I do. He's the prideful kind and he might make it out of the desert fine. My concern is when they pride finally gets him in over his head and he's finally dealt a blow to his ego." Joshua said calmly, sipping his drink. "The kid has potential but also many flaws he needs to figure out a fix. For now though, my concern is what you want to do."

"I understand your concern for my safety. I'll let you tag along but..." She began.

"I won't interfere unless absolutely necessary Ame. This is your journey. Soon as we get you to the temple and back, I'm gone on the wind again, finding my own adventures. But this is a route that poses too many dangers that are beyond control If you were stronger, I'd have no issue letting you go. But you're still to green right now, so as a responsible trainer and adult, I can't let you go alone. Unless, as a trainer yourself, you wish to go alone." He said gently, reaching across the table and patting her head, causing the young girl to turn red in the face.

"... so long as I'm still in charge I guess." She said, looking away.

"Alright then. Let's finish up here and get some rest so we're ready to go early tomorrow morning, when it's just starting to warm up." Joshua said. Once they were finished, he paid for the entire meal, handing the money Dawkin had thrown on the table to Amelia before finding them a hotel to stay for the night.

The next morning, the two were up early and Joshua, true to his word, let Amelia take the lead. The first thing she did was locate Dawkin and rushed over to him upon seeing him, Joshua hanging back and leaning against a nearby building, letting the two talk in private.

"Morning." Amelia said to Dawkin, giving him a smile.
@Demon Shinobi Yupp. Long, good post that contains all we need. Nicely posted. I'll respond soon enough. And, heh. About a Munchlax's daily intake of food... I won't need you to actually roleplay that if you don't want to. XD It'd be good if you can make references to it occasionally, but I won't demand you to play a certain way just because, hah. Just wanted to tell you that somewhere, heh.

@Rune_Alchemist Alright. That's what I figured you'd do. Nicely posted. And... time to figure out what those antennas on Meganium actually are for. XD

@Old Amsterdam Teh-heh. It'll be fun writing the reaction to this one. Nicely posted. Excited kids are fun.

@Gardevoiran Oh, alright. If you feel more comfortable with sending Xatu home. I will admit that I was under the initial impression that he had the Xatu in order to at all be able to manage travelling in terrain, but if you feel he'll be able to handle himself with only Seabreeze's sight to guide him, then sure. I'm not sure how well he's going to be able to battle like this, but, heh, I'll leave the means of perception to you, then. Nicely posted.

@Joshua Tamashii Whelp. Is this scaring the kid or testing his ingenuity? Hahahaha. Oh, well.

@Dusksong So, I just about want to post again for the ones in the Pokémon Lab. How are you doing? Can we expect a post soon, do you think?

This is several things

"Yes, not Routes have some form of inherent danger but most of those dangers, particularly the local pokemon, can be reasoned with. You know what you can't reason with? The planet itself. Does the sun hide behind clouds because you desire it? Will the temperature rise and lower at your command? Will it rain whenever you need water? The answer to all of these is no, though I expect you to be a smart aleck at this point and say you could just use Rain Dance to accomplish most of that. But, last I checked, you have none." Joshua said, his tone finally getting a bit heated. "So a question to pose to you Dawkin. If you're in the middle of the desert and a sandstorm comes and turns you around so you no longer hand any idea where you are and where you are going, what will you do?"

Joshua had spent most of the trip simply napping whenever Amaya didn't need him. He found the rocking of the boat and the sounds of the ocean rather peaceful and also somewhat nostalgic. His original homeland had been a frozen tundra but the village he had been raised in had been by the ocean, since fishing was one of the most reliable ways for their people to get food. He had faint memories of being on a boat once or twice but they weren't very clear. Whenever Amaya did need him though, all it would take was a simple tap on the shoulder to wake him up and he would help however he could.

Once the reached the island, he immediately got in one of the boats heading to shore, taking note that Amaya would be flying ahead, something that concerned him.
"Don't get too far ahead you two." He said. He knew Amaya was eager to get on the island to see if there was any sign of the dragon that had raised her, but he hoped she would show some patience so that she didn't get in over her head.

Amelia, in the meantime, had spent the entire trip sleeping to try and get over her fever. While it had gone down one or two degrees, she still had it but otherwise seemed fine. When her father addressed her, she looked up at him.
"Am I still staying on the ship or can I come along?" She asked, her tone hopeful, as she did want to join the others and possibly be of some help to her guild for once.

Meanwhile, the guild master of Rider's Blade and his apprentice had spent the trip mostly to themselves unless otherwise approached. Once they were given the sign to get on the small boats to get to shore, they climbed into one along with anyone else who would join them, wondering what lay ahead of them

Joshua leaned back in his seat, remaining silent for the time being. He knew this was Amelia's adventure and therefore her choice. But he was the one that had snuck her out of town under her parents nose so he was responsible for her health and safety, especially in dangerous scenarios like this. But for now, it was best that he remain silent and let Amelia have some time in the spotlight again.

"It might not be a temple. It's just some ruins that are on, called the Old Tombs on the opposite end of the desert. They're on of several places I want to visit because of the possible presense of Ghost-type pokemon there. There are also the Known Ruins on an island north of here and maybe one or two other places. I would like to go back to the Witchpeak Cemetary but... if I go back home, my journey might be forced to end. So I need to grow much stronger first." Amelia said, her tone becoming a bit sorrowful as she brought up her home town. She quickly dismissed this though and gave both of the boys a smile. "But there are several pokemon I'm hoping to find in the Tombs. Namely Golett and Yamask. It might be possible to find Honedges there if any of them are the tomb of a king or royalty I guess. And if I can find a keystone there, I might be able to get a Spiritomb."

"You've really though this through in concerns to the Ghosts you might find." Joshua said. "Though there are other dangers. Namely more Cacnea and Trapinch, as well as things like Baltoy, Sigilyph, Bronzor, Sandile, Hippopotas, and others. This isn't including their possible evolved forms, which neither of you will be able to handle. And if you're forced to run out there with a wild pokemon chasing you and it won't let up... again, you could get seriously hurt and repels only work so long. You need to take proper precautions on a route like this. But I guess I'm sounding like a broken record at this point."

"If that is your choice, I won't argue with it. I've cautioned you and given you the option but as a trainer, you have to make your own decisions and others need to respect it. Unless you one of the many Teams running around in the world. Those people deserve no respect." Joshua said before turning to Amelia. "You, however, I'm more hesitant to allow out in the desert alone. You need a guide or someone to take you along and make sure you're okay, especially with your health. And I know you have no tolerance to heat, since you love spending all your time outside during the night, when it's coolest."

"I'll ask the gym leader or some group in town to take me to the temple. I can't lean on you anymore then I have, so I want to see if someone else can help me." The young girl replied calmly.

Joshua nodded.
"If neither of them do, call me. I'm the one responsible for you being out here and I do not want to deliver bad news to your parents." He said.
