I'll likely be unable to post today. I'll see what I can get done towards this Tuesday.

PS: That said, I have little to do for most of my next post as well (these last couple post rotations were extremely poor on working material). Depending on how much padding I'm feeling like doing, I may skip Seyrun's reply and just do a simple paragraph for Atalanta.
@ReaptheMusic

Sad to see you leave Reaps. I guess we'll have to figure out what to do with Erika. Is there anything we can do for you should you come back?

The thing we will do to her is the same thing we will do to @Jedly's characters. Threat them as if they were away on a trip until/if their player's return. There's no need to complicate stuff.

Erika fades to the background once we move the RP forward this coming week.
Alright then. Time for new Tatiana upgrade and a bit of a gear change. The upgrade is basically cosmetic though.

This feels ok for me.
@Flamelord

Usually, I tend to describe it more as a mater of Area of Effect than of Power of Effect. Excusing the edges of the cloud, which are naturally thinner, once you are enveloped fully on it, the damage is quite constant and, against the Machina it's quite severe as well. Kinda like Warcraft III' Death and Decay.

My scale of how long it would take to destroy a target is based on how long I thought that it would take for Victoire to take down something like the Elicitor or the Contender from previous battles. Around 5 or 6 post rotations, with would be around say... 2 and a half to 3 IC pages. That's a pretty big window because of the usual number of combatants we have around, you can draw your conclusions based on this.

Without a damage system it's rather hard to work anything more specific, but I guess I can do it later for the sake of simplicity.
Right then. As future advice, perhaps you should stick around in future battles to provide updates on how far the acid stuff has spread and how effective it is even after Victoire has left the battle. Because none of us have known since she was removed back on page 25, which probably explains why you are so disappointed that people haven't been dropping dead because of it. When we're left to draw our own conclusions, naturally we're going to err on the side of having a cool scene in a fight rather than getting impotently murdered by environmental hazards. It isn't in her character sheet after all.

And as a general statement to everyone else in the thread, I would like to now laugh in your face and say "Hah, I told you so."

I'll keep that in mind. Last week was hard on me so I couldn't pay as much attention as I'd like to, but I'll try to give more prompts from now on.

As for Character Sheets, I'll eventually update mine, but I think I've been keeping Victoire sufficiently consistent over the time for that to not feel like an underhanded move. If not, you can tell me.
So, dumb question. Once it gets to 'eat off your face with acid' level how are you supposed to counter it? Besides carpet nuking the entire battlefield I mean.

The only way I can see that would destroy them at this point would be nuking the whole place. This is why I always make it clear to tell when Victoire is beginning to set her rose fields, once they are too widespread it's hard to win against them. It's her main advantage on this RP, late game dominance, like any decent mage character.

That said, Zac could have won easily with his powers. Victoire isn't omnipotent, but against Machina she's really hard to take down. Bonesword bailing out was the worst move ever for them, since he was the only one not affected by the Roses, given that he's technically a Demon.

PS:

To put it simply, and in Windel's words: "People are stupid." The two only combatants with good chances of changing the game left the battle. Sad, but true.
Hey, people, if my last post didn't make it clear, let me say it again. Victoire's roses aren't watered down acid. That's magical demonic corruption eating away at people. Even if you blew away some of the fog, it doesn't take long for more fill its place. The Machina are ignoring a lot, I mean a huge lot of its effects by fighting as if they weren't blinded and being eaten alive by it. That's very aggravating for me, so I had to remember that the longer you stay on it, the worse it gets.

With how long the roses have been in effect, I find it unlikely that any of you will be able to defeat Balrog and Henry before dying to the mist. You should have countered it way before to have any chance.

The battle for Arcadia still ragged, even though the last of the Angels' combatants forfeit any chance of victory, staining their image before the other factions, the remaining Demons fought an uphill battle against the sheer superiority of the Machina numbers. Victoire's last gift which still persisted (and grew in strength) despite many attempts to eliminate it, as well as their innate advantage against the soulless mechanical soldiers, would have to be exploited to their maximum if the troops of Hell wished a chance to taste victory today.

Meanwhile, the new ruler of Hell plotted an invasion of the Sacred Halls of Caelestia. Even though her brash strategy to free her captured Demonic peers was being prepared with a great deal of care, some plans were never bound to work. As a great military mind once said to his lord, "If the orders aren't clear and the soldiers fall in disarray, that's the General's fault. However, if the orders are clear and the General made his will known, any chaos is of the soldiers' responsibility." It's said that after such a speech the General executed two of his lord's favorite concubines who refused to lead a military demonstration. The other ones obey every single of his commands to no fault after that.

One had to wonder, in which of the cases did Hell fit better?

On the other side of the Nexus, the Machina, under the command of the very own High Queen Eos, had finished establishing their newest industrial complex, KC-10081, a gargantuan plant made solely to receive the resources retrieved from Alt Signia and turn them into the newest generation of EXOSUITS their army's greatest advantage for the coming stages of the war. However, even such a feat of power from the Machina's army had its dark secrets, shadows meant to remain hidden under the High Queen's shine. What could happen if this grand project was carried to conclusion?

Celestia ❖ Palace Halls

Diana walked through the halls of Celestia unaware of the grand scheme of things playing around her. Thanks to the information she heard about the Machina having finally moved the stolen resources from Ruthria's ruins to their final destination, Diana's worries were focused mostly on what happened with Bastion after the last time they saw one another in Alt Signia.

The dragon girl knew that she wasn't strong enough to make a difference in the long run, but she couldn't let her friend go like that. Not until she was sure that Bastion's words telling Diana to leave her or be treated as an enemy were true or if Bastion said that because there were other Machina soldiers nearby.

"I've been training for this long but I still cannot use all of my power," Diana thought as she gazed at her own reflection cast on Ascalon's golden blade. For anyone else, it would seem like a simple makeshift mirror, but the only thing Diana could see was the rageful beast that lurked inside of her, eager for a chance to escape.

"Just wait and see," Diana shook her head, trying to get rid of her dark thoughts. "One day I'm going to catch up to you. And when that happens... I'll be sure to get a straight answer from you, Bast- What the!?"

Diana's train of thought was brutally derailed when she stepped on some random piece of trash that shouldn't by any means be here, in the middle of the Divine Imperator's palace. "Who is the idiot littering the palace? Don't anyone respect anything anymore?" Diana said, lifting the ragged piece of cloth from the floor with a couple fingers until it was level with her eyes and taking a sniff of it.

"Where did this thing come from?" She wondered while taking the random trash, which looked like some kind of sock puppet, to the nearest place where she could discard it. "And why it stinks so much? If I didn't know better I would think that it's a Demon, or was used by one for some unspeakable act of..." Diana trailed off as she finally arrived at her objective.

"Well, I guess it doesn't matter anymore... Whatever," the gold and crimson-clad girl thought as she threw the dirty puppet at an incinerator and returned back to her room. Now whoever dumped that trash in the corridor didn't have to worry with a mad Iona hunting them down. Looks like Diana saved the skin of someone without them even knowing. Pretty angelic, right?

Lucille is going to have another long chat with her subordinates about following directions.

I guess she's noticing a critical problem of the Nexus a bit too late, hehehe.
If I find something that I want to do while I shouldn't be doing anything here, I'll see about posting around tomorrow.

@TheWindel You are really into the flowery themed characters, huh? I wonder what's up these days?

That said, this Lucille CS made me think that I need to do an facelift of my CSs for this RP. Out might come in handy soon enough.
