History

Life Before The Apocalypse: Amy was born and grew up in San Fran, within eye shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Eldest daughter of an immigrated family from China she grew up in Chinatown, often working in her parents restaurant after school as she got older. Life really wasn't bad, other than having two parents that were more driven than she was and pushed her harder than she pushed herself. Which is saying something considering the level of perfection she seeks in herself on a daily basis.

It was no surprise when she graduated top of her class and got a full ride to medical school. In fact, it would have been a shock if she hadn't and lord knows how bad her parents would have ridden her if she hadn't. Med school was a welcome change to dishing out crappy egg rolls and she fell in love with it. During her residency she had a rotation with the hospitals Heart Surgeon Guru. The first time she heard a chest crack open it reminded her of cracking a lobster shell and she was in love.

A few years later she was in her zone and working up the chain of command quickly but she had to get out of California. Too many tremors and Earthquakes for her liking and it really did a number on her surgical suites. A few calls, a couple of resumes and interviews and she was packing her bags to jaunt off to bigger and better things, or so she thought.

Life Leading Up To the Apocalypse // What Brings You to Altsoba: Taking a Job as Head Of Thoracic Surgery for Altsoba Methodist Hospital she figured it was all up hill from there. And it was. That was until the end of the damn world decided to sucker punch her life goals and plans. Yeah, just her luck she would pick the center of "All Hell Breaking Loose" to plan the rest of her life. She just keep trucking along though. Figuring at this point, if the world is going to end at least she will have plenty of bodies to piece back together until her life is over being at the Epicenter of all of it. Come on Altsoba, back to work, we ain't done yet!

History

Life Before The Apocalypse: Danica grew up in Oregon, part of a split family. She was the eldest child of her father - who had at least one more that she knows of a few years after she was born. When she was very young she was enrolled in the local Tae Kwon Do school as something to do to channel her already aggressive nature. (Something that came out in many school yard scraps starting when she was preschool.) She seemed to flourish in the environment and after a few local tournaments her Grand Master, a man who had moved from South Korea after the Korean War, saw she had a talent and a tenacity that could be much better channeled into something beyond just brawling with her school mates.

Over the next decade she trained every day after school and spent her weekend traveling around the United States for National and International Competitions for the W.T.F. and the U.T.A. She did well and even won a spot on the Junior Olympic team where she took silver in Forms and Bronze in fighting. When she reached the age where she could compete in the adult circuit she earned a spot on the U.S. Nationals team and won Gold for her country. It took her years to earn her rank in TKD; Even spending time in Seoul South Korea at the Kukkiwon training for a summer as part of an exchange program; where she earned her first Dan/Poom. During her travels for tournaments she met many people from all over the world. Spending time with them over long trips and picking up a bit of their languages here and there, mostly cursing and how to ask where the bathroom was, as well as their interests.

One such interest was Rock Climbing, which she quickly fell in love with. A friend of her, Luis, who was from Colorado introduced her to the sport. This turned out to be a blessing for Danica - After an injury during a tournament that prevented her from performing the aerial displays her spot was known for with proper technique she flipped from a life of TKD to Rock Climbing. After a knee surgery to help repair the damage she put her mind to climb anything and everything she could. She still practices TKD but now it is more of a life style choice than anything. Rock climbing helped get her back into the mix of things while she started to attend college. Though she did well and graduated early the last thing she wanted to do as a journalist major was to sit behind a desk. She wanted to be out in the world.

Grabbing her things she started up a blog and began to write down everything she did after college; posting images of her climbs. This got the attention of several travel magazines and they began to buy her stories. Hot Damn! She was getting paid to climb instead of living off the meager ad earnings her site generated. After a year of climbing and writing like this, she decided to up the wow factor and took up Base Jumping. Why climb down the mountain when you can just soar down? Though, after a few near "fuck me I am screwed!" moments on the mountains she finally admitted to herself that she was in fact NOT Wonder Woman and took a few first aide courses as well as wilderness survival ones. She wrote it off as a business expense and just added it to her resume.

So she grabbed what she could, rented a small U-Haul and drove to Altsoba; getting a hotel room when she arrived. Figured if all hell was going to break loose she could grab a hotel room and tell people all about the best hot spot to hit during the Apocalypse. I mean, who wouldn't want to know where the best Demon hang out where right?

Which is saying something considering the level of perfection she seeks in herself on a daily basis.

It was no surprise when she graduated top of her class and got a full ride to medical school. In fact, it would have been a shock if she hadn't and lord knows how bad her parents would have ridden her if she hadn't. Med school was a welcome change to dishing out crappy egg rolls and she fell in love with it. During her residency she had a rotation with the hospitals Heart Surgeon Guru. The first time she heard a chest crack open it reminded her of cracking a lobster shell and she was in love.

A few years later she was in her zone and working up the chain of command quickly but she had to get out of California. Too many tremors and Earthquakes for her liking and it really did a number on her surgical suites. A few calls, a couple of resumes and interviews and she was packing her bags to jaunt off to bigger and better things, or so she thought.

That was until the end of the damn world decided to sucker punch her life goals and plans. Yeah, just her luck she would pick the center of "All Hell Breaking Loose" to plan the rest of her life. She just keep trucking along though. Figuring at this point, if the world is going to end at least she will have plenty of bodies to piece back together until her life is over being at the Epicenter of all of it. Come on Altsoba, back to work, we ain't done yet!

Rule Addition Notification

Due to a bit of an ongoing issue, Xtreme and I have decided to implement a new rule to the RP. This might seem a bit odd so please bear with me on this.

As of this moment - No one but the GM/CoGm will be allowed to use @Mention tags in the IC. These will only be used in W.N.'s from here on out.

So please, next time you post remove your "Interacting With" header COMPLETELY!

We have had a long running issue with people only reading the posts they are tagged in. This has to stop so we are removing the "crutch" of the @Mention Tag and the "excuse" of "I didn't read it because I didn't see the tag."

So, please - for mine and Xtremes sanity - Do NOT use the @Mention or Interacting Header from this point forward (There will be consequences up to Removal From RP if it occurs.)

I hate that it has come to this, but something has to be done. This is a murder mystery RP, EVERY post is critical. As many have been part of already, there are parts where some people are Pmed tid bits of what their characters will see or choices they can make. All of this is playing into solving the case - Which is the primary goal of the RP. So EVERY post needs to be read and looked at.

Again - NO MORE USE OF @MENTION TAGS OR INTERACTING WITH HEADERS IN YOUR IC POSTS.
