The Ambesire family is well known but elusive. Not much is really known by the family even by the Royals, hardly anything but rumors and wealth is known to those of the Upper, Middle, and Lower Classes. They guard their family fiercely and their secrets even more, which of course has only spurred the rumor mill to claim that the Ambesires are anything from members of the Royal Family living in exile to the direct decedents of Ero and Eka that were abandoned. There is no limit to what has been told and guessed about this eccentric family. Below is a list of several of the more known members of the family. This list is not complete, just a start. More will be revealed as they reveal themselves in RP.

Shadowell is a very grand and opulent estate. The main house is substantial and imposing, the grounds within the gates are even larger. Upkeep is never ending and to keep things moving a small army of servants and retainers is necessary. Below you will find a listing of the current staff of Shadowell along with some ~At First Glance~ information that your character might run across during the course of the RP. Each person in the lists below either lives in Shadowell Manor itself or on the grounds. These people are the eyes and ears of Shadowell, there is nothing that happens that they do not witness firsthand or find out eventually.

๑۩↛Positions↚۩๑
Each person has a job and each job has a specific list of duties. If it isn't their job they don't do it. Below is a break down of the positions the Staff and Retainers of Shadowell have and a brief description of their job duties.

What They Do

Assistant Gardener: Works for the gardener and does anything and everything required of him. He is usually in training and the best assistant gardener is usually hired when the current gardener passes away. They get paid less than the Gardener, so make a Lower Class wage.

Blacksmith: If it is made of metal he deals with it. From repairing anything made from steel or iron, to cookware, forks and sharpening knives. He makes horseshoes and shoes the horses as well. He earns about 350§ a week, which includes his housing.

Butler: The highest ranked male servant in the house. He has the keys to the Butlery (Butlers Pantry) where the fine silverware, china, and expensive foods are kept. He also over sees the wine cellar and is in charge of the rest of the house staff. He is in charge of dinner service and paying the other servants in the house. He must be able to read and write, be an able wine steward, handling the overall function of the household, be able to investigate matters, and is usually the Families most trusted servant. He gets certain benefits because of this - clothing from his master, ends of candles, used playing cards, or the remains of opened bottles of wine at the end of the day. He is paid well for his service.

Chaperone: And older woman who accompanies younger unmarried women when they leave the household or during functions. She is there to ensure that no scandals arise and that the young woman remains pure. She is usually a spinster within the family and takes her position seriously though there are times she is very corrupt and looks to bring the downfall of her charge. She is paid poorly for the services that are entrusted to her.

Chef: In charge of the kitchen and the kitchen garden, as well as any kitchen staff. He oversees all menus, from day to day to events. He teachers the kitchen staff how to cook and how to prepare the meals as well as plating. He knows the tastes, likes, and dislikes of every family member and staff. He orders all the food, keeps tracks of the pantry and dry goods. If it concerns the kitchen he knows about it. (Most houses have a female cook but in very well to do families they will have a male chef of extensive training.)

Coachman: Driver of the family carriages. In well to do families there is usually one for the men and one for the women. They are mechanically minded and understand their horses. They keep everything with the carriage in working order, are skilled at driving the carriage and in fighting to keep robbers on the highway at bay. They are also in charge of training new horses.

Dairy Maid: She is in charge of milking the cows. Not only that but creating cream, butter, buttermilk, cheeses, and the like. She tends to the cows, stores all dairy products as well as baking any breads that contain milk or cheese. Likely to contract cowpox when they are young they can gain an immunity to other diseases which can leave them with very good skin.

Estate Manager: The grandest of families will employ an Estate Manager. He oversees everything the family owns and all that work or on retainer for the family. He collects rents, manages the properties, oversees the farms, and more. Unless there is a separate House Manager all the top Servants and all the Retainers report to him and he reports the Lord of the Estate directly. They are usually lawyers who make sure the law is followed or the proper people are paid off.

Footman: Chosen for their height and looks. They are there for the visual duties mostly - opening doors, traveling with the family, clearing the dinner table, helping one in and out of a carriage: eye candy. They have to be swift of foot to catch items that fall of carriages and get back to them. Many times they will provide other "services" to the ladies of the house discretely.

Forester: One of the most important roles on the property is the Forester. He makes sure all the flora on the property is healthy. Taking care of the trees and underbrush. He keeps pathways clear, makes sure the roads are wide enough for the horses and works with the Gamekeeper to keep poachers off the property. He knows where all the medicinal and edible foliage is within the grounds.

Gamekeeper: Works alongside the Forester to keep the grounds free of poachers. He breeds birds and ensures that the game on the grounds is not over hunted. He makes sure water and food is available to the game so that they may thrive. He knows where the nests and burrows are and makes sure people stay clear of them. He earns a lower middle class wage.

Gardener: Plans and tends to all the gardens, both ascetic and edible. He is skilled at land design, plumbing, and trapping to keep rabbits out of things. He works over the Assistant Gardeners and helps the Lady of the house with her own private garden. He earns a lower middle class wage.

Groom: Is in charge of the stable. He takes care of the stable itself, the horses, and everything that goes along with them. He makes sure the horses are healthy and well maintained and tends to them if they fall ill. He breaks new horses when they are purchased or when they are bred. He is the boss of the stable hands and the postilions. He makes a decent wage and is a make-shift vet for lack of a better term.

Guard: Heavily armed and well trained, the guards protect Shadowell with their life. They are stronger than they might seem and have various fighting skills that make them dangerous. They are paid very well, among the highest on the staff. Constantly patrolling the grounds they keep an eye on everything that happens on the grounds. They would rather kill than speak much of the time and they know where to bury the bodies.

Hallboy: The lowest raking servant in the house, he tends to the servants. Taking care of them at meals and being the personal valet to the Butler. He is usually between the age of 11 and 18, in training for a better position when he ages out of Hallboy. Usually an orphan or son of another servant.

Handyman: Jack of all repair trades, he is in charge of finding problems with the house itself and fixing them. Anything from plumbing to skylights. He does anything from painting to repairing to pest control. He has to be strong and quick to heal since if a storm comes he will be the one outside repairing the roof as the storm is still blowing over head.

Housekeeper: The highest ranked female servant in the house. She tends to be a mature woman with a commanding nature - it is required to keep things in order. She ensures that the house is kept clean, everything is mended, and is in good standing order. She also commands all the female servants in the household and reports directly to the Butler. She makes the pickles, preserves, perfumes, and drinks for the house. She is educated, can read and write, is good at math and organization. Usually middle class birth and earns a fair wage.

Huntsman: Leads all hunting parties on the estate. Because he needs to know exactly what is going on where on the grounds he works closely with the guards, the gamekeeper, and the forester. He is there to ensure the safety of those hunting, making sure the game is kept fresh after killed, and finishing off an animal is a kill goes bad. He earns a fair wage for what he does and tends to get tips from guests for good hunts.

Kennel Master: Tends to, breeds, and trains all the dogs on the grounds. He will train them to hunt different game and even how to search for missing people due to the size of the estate. He is good at making sure the dogs stay healthy, takes care of them when they are ill, and knows when to put them down. He earns a modest wage.

Kitchen Maid: Report to the Chef. They tend to anything and everything in the kitchen and help to prepare all meals. Their job is to follow the orders and the recipes the Chef places before them. They are highly trained with a good sense of taste. While they do not earn much they do earn more than the average servant in the house. They can be called on to taste foods that are believed to be poisoned so most have a strong stomach and a good constitution.

Lady's Companion: A woman employed to be a friend and active companion for young women of the house to keep their minds occupied and off men. Some older women employ them to stave off their loneliness. They are skilled in all things needed by Upper Class women. Some might even have a discreet romantic relationship with their charge. Such things are tolerated as long as they keep it under wraps and it is broken off when need be. While their room, board, and clothing are provided for they are paid poorly for their services.

Lady's Maid: The personal attendant to a Lady of the house. She tends to 1 and only 1 lady at a time. She helps with bathing, dressing, make up, and hair. She mends torn garments and is with her lady always to be there and to see to her every comfort and concern. She is a confidant and knows her lady's deepest and darkest secrets. She travels everywhere with her.

Librarian: If an estate has a large collection of written words a Librarian is hired. They tend to all the scripts, ensure they are maintained, recommend reads for the family, tutor when needed, purchase new ones, act as secretary, and keep the library or libraries in order. Due to the limited nature of the written word on Rutas Mu they are very rare but coveted. Not only do they do all above but they write constantly, anything that comes to mind or that occurs in the family. They are the new historians, trying to build a past where one does not exist.

Mistress: A woman who is exactly as she sounds. The mistress of the Lord of the house. In this day and age, it is not unheard of or even looked down on as long as she carries herself well. She is the Lords companion in many ways and escorts to him to all but the highest of events. She is extremely charismatic and might even be close friends with the Lady of the house. They both seem to understand their placed in society. She lives in the house, close to the Lord, but she does not take meals with the family. She knows more about the Lord than anyone in the house and is paid highly to keep her mouth shut and other things, well, open.

Nurse: She is responsible for the young children in the house and raises them. Tending to their needs day and night. She often sleeps in the same room with them, if not she is only one room away. She helps them with their lessons, teaches them their manners, plays with them during down time, and entertains them. She is like a mother to most and grows very attached to them since she also tends to them when they are sick. She is usually paid double what others earn in the house due to the importance of her job.

Porter: The resident strong man. His job is to move heavy objects and equipment for the family. Moving trunks from carriages to guest rooms to make sure things are in place. He is also the main house guard, protecting the family if needed. Brute strength is needed for this job, not brains but they are not stupid. They are just street smart. He will inform guests on arrival of house rules and will enforce them.

Postilion: A Postilion is employed to ride the front left-hand horse in a team pulling a carriage, which greatly improves the Coachman’s control over the animals. Sometimes, a carriage will not even require a Coachmen to drive it, only a Postilion to guide the horses. They are skilled and agile riders and have a good sense of their horses. They work close with the Coachmen, groom, and stable boys. They travel with the family when they leave the grounds and earn a lower class wage.

Scullery Maid: Whatever job the other servants do not wish to deal with falls into the hands of the scullery maid. She scrubs and cleans everything from the laundry to the pots and pants, to the floors. She readies the water for baths and cleans the meat after it is butchered. She has a high constitution due to the amount of work and long hours she works and is sure footed as to not take a tumble on wet floors. She isn't paid; her pay is room, board, and clothing for the job.

Servants Hall Maid: She tends to the servants, clearing the servants meals and keeping the servants quarters in order. She is young, usually between the ages of 11 and 16. They are not paid, room and board being their pay but they tend to graduate and become Housemaids or Kitchen maids when they get older.

Shepard: Tends to all the cows and sheep on the property. Taking care of them, making sure the grass is in good condition for them. He sheers the sheep for their wool. He also slaughters both the sheep and the cow when needed and watches out for poachers or wild animals that could harm his flocks. He is paid a lower middle class wage.

Stable Boy: Works with the groom and others who deal with the horses. He cleans out the stalls, makes sure the saddles are ready when people want to ride, help the ladies onto their side saddles, tend to the feed, and anything else that is required of them. Their pay is their room and board. Much of the time they will sleep with the horses when the weather is bad to keep them calm.

Under House Maid: Is assigned a portion of the house to oversee. She ensures the fireplaces are lit and maintained, does general cleaning, and keeps things in order in her portion of the house.

Upper House Maid: Is in charge of not only making sure the Under House Maids are doing their duty, they are in charge of keeping the most important rooms in order and maintained as well as the most expensive objects and jewelry.

Valet: Each man of the house has a Valet - tending to their needs. Anything from dressing and shaving them to running errands. They travel with them wherever they go and do pretty much anything that is required of them. Unlike Footmen who serve everyone in the house, a valet serves 1 and only 1 person at a time. They help their Lord pick out clothing for an event and are usually their confidant in many matters.

Whipper-in: Manages the hounds during a hunt. He makes sure they do not run off and are out of the way when the guns are fired or the arrows fly. He is a skilled rider and skilled with a whip. He is also used as a punisher on the grounds. If the other servants step out of line he will be tasked to whip them publicly. If a female servant needs punishment, he will whip her as well but privately in front of the house keeper away from the eyes of other males. He earns the same average wage of most servants.

All the men that work for the Ambesires are required to wear a uniform fitting of their position in the house that is crimson in color and edged in black. The footmens attire, along with the butlers is much more ornate than the rest.

The female servants clothing is varied but still retains the same base Crimson base color, though it could be trimmed in black, white, silver, or gold. The more prominent the position the more detailed the attire. The women are required to keep their hair pinned up at all times when outside of their quarters.

Jane grew up close to her father but not her mother who died when she was young. She enjoyed life growing up and her father protected her. Sheltering her from the worst that the world could do. While she didn't know her mother, her mothers portrait hangs in the family home in the Study. She was told all the time how much she looked like her mother, how pure her mother was, how kind. It made her want to be as much like the woman she never really knew as she could.

While she is the eldest and inherited everything from her father, she does have a younger sister. Her sister pretty much runs things and Jane just enjoys life. Her sister is fine with it. Jane is too pure to handle the day to day tasks of running a business. Jane runs the house but the house runs itself. She is close with her sister and several of the hand maids on staff but the butler seems to be terse with her at all times. Most days she just hosts teas and entertains guests.

Jane would love to fall in love but at her age it is pretty much off the table. Perhaps she would have to be a bit less pure to get a husband. Perhaps she was too sheltered. She doesn't want to do anything though that would tarnish her future or her mothers memory. Other than wanting a loving marriage she wants for nothing else.

She is said to be just like her mother and if it were thought she had a tryst with a local rake whatever hopes of a loving marriage would be thrown out the window. Many of the families dealings are secure because others believe in the purity of the family they are doing business with and in fact there are morality clauses in many of the contracts. A single slip and they could lose many of the lands they own.

Now I cannot force you not to speak to other Rpers about your PC but I will say this - the more you reveal to the other players, the more you lose when it comes to enjoyment of the RP. As we live, many times in our lives fall away to faded memory. We forget the faces of those around us, the smells and sounds no longer tangible. It happens to most memories. Yet there are specific times in our lives that are burned into our cortex, never to be forgotten no matter how much we wish they were. God you wished this one would go away but it won't. It haunts you, day in and day out. Even if you could forget someone refuses to let you.

On a random night, you found out that your darkest secret wasn't as secret as you had hoped. Someone, somehow, found out. You don't know who or how but they did. You tried to find out but they are as dark and unknown as you wish that skeleton in your closest was. Those that could afford to spent more than they could afford to try to find out but failed. Whomever knows has managed to remain unknown. If you ever find out you could end up freeing yourself or you could just end up with one more skeleton in your closet. They say dead men tell no tales. Live ones however, do.

They have agreed to keep it quiet, as long as you pay for the silence. Silence does not come cheap. Whether it be money, goods, more secrets, or even your own flesh - the cost of your secret remaining in the shadows is costing you everything you are, everything you have, perhaps even your very sanity. You cannot stop paying though. If you did, if your secret came to life, you might as well be dead. It could mean the death of you, if nothing else it will ruin you and perhaps even your family for generations to come. You can't afford that. You keep paying...

Yet, after all this time maybe there is hope. Another random night, another rap at your door, another person there to speak with you. They do not say much, only handing you a thick envelope sealed with wax and a symbol on it. You don't know the symbol, it isn't familiar but the neither is the delivery man. He doesn't say anything and refuses to speak. Simply handing over the envelope before tipping his hat and leaving. Within the envelope there is the following...

Ardad Lili, that is a name you know all too well. It is what your extortionist has referred to themselves as through their various cohorts over the time of your blackmail. Could this be the end you have longed for? Or is this a trap? And Shadowell Manor? That is a whole 'nother story all together but still... You have everything to lose if you go but in the end you could perhaps gain the one thing you have longed for all this time - An end to this nightmare. The final burial of not only the secret you must keep in the dark but the very person who has caused you all this turmoil. Oh yes, you will be attending the masquerade.

"Grandpa, why are all these books blank?" the young child asked with eyes full of suspicion. His baby fine hair, still not thickening up with age, hung to his lashes and brushed them each time he blinked. His clothing was of a fine nature, and yet there were worn patches in it. A sign of the times. It mattered not how wealthy one was, most things still showed the wear of time. It was just the way of Rutas Mu.

A sympathetic smile came to crepe like lips as the old man pulled his wire framed spectacles from the bridge of his nose, folding them over carefully and resting them on the oak table next to the arm of the crimson velvet chair he had been sitting in for the last hour observing the little one. The flames from the fireplace illuminated the ornate library, casting shadows and perhaps images of the demons of the past on the walls; climbing higher and up to the ceiling. The crystals from the chandelier reflecting the light and projecting dark rainbows on the walls and portraits that hung on them. People from the past, people whom they had never known.

"You are a curious one but I believe that I shan't be able to put you off any longer with your questions. Come here and let an old man tell you what my grandpa told me when I was just about your age." His voice was gentle but full of warning. It did not put the child off, it only made his eyes light up with the prospect that he might finally get an answer. As the elder reached out his arms the boy scuttled up into his lap and got comfortable. This was a story he had been waiting to hear for as long as he could speak. It was not so very long but to him it was a lifetime.

"Long ago, it is said, that the Gods became jealous of Rutas Mu for they had never felt what their creations had felt. Joy, love, laughter. Even pain and sorrow were concepts they had not known. While they had created all that lived we had taken what they had given us and created more. All you see around you was created by our ancestors. Those that came before us, before the darkness, they had knowledge that the creators never intended us to obtain; the language of the universe. They knew how to take was around them and create more than was ever supposed to be. They broke free from the prison they were caged in.

In time we learned even how to create ourselves. How to birth the next generation, flesh to flesh. Something else they had never intended us to know. We needed them not anymore. We chose to live how they lived, to be their equals. More than that we got joy and pain from creation, they got nothing. They wanted that and didn't want us to have it. It was for them. How dare the children out perform the parents? Their arrogance lead to the world we live in now. They wanted what we had but I wonder if they knew it would lead to what we are now.

They wanted to feel and create the way we did. To have that experience. So it is said that they came from above to us. That the heavens descended to the earth and melded into one. The land, once that shown brightly during the day by something out there became dark. The world was blanketed with darkness. Our ancestors stopped in their place, in time, as the Gods experienced for the first time what it meant to delve into their creation. As they pulled away, as the heavens separated from the lands and the seas the world was forever changed.

You see, once they knew what we felt, how we truly were, we couldn't continue. At least not in their eyes. Not in the way we had. It is said the world was consumed and those that were left behind were left as punishment, as a reminder to know that this is all there is now. No stars in the sky, no ball of light during the day. All we were left with was enough to survive but never thrive. I suppose they could have just ended us all but how can a parent murder their own child? They cannot, not all of us. Not now that they knew what attachment meant. So they stopped us. Restricted us. All the knowledge we had was gone. The books wiped clean. Our history erased so we could not build on it. So we couldn't keep moving forward."

The boy looked confused, even more so, and as if he had a question on his mind. "What is it?" his grandpa asked him.

"But we know things now. Right?" his light eyes reflected the fire from the hearth, radiating the life in both.

"Yes, some. How much we don't know that our ancestors did we might never know but we have learned since the darkness pulled away. How long ago that was, we are not sure but we do have remnants from the past. This manor, those books, other things and places in Rutas Mu. For at least the last three hundred winters we have progressed, been able to write again, to record. How long until we catch up to what we once were I do not know. Maybe never. Perhaps we will be punished again if we reach that point. Perhaps the gods will let us progress freely from now. Perhaps they are gone and we are orphans. No one knows."

That was enough for now. It was what he had been told when he was a young child so long ago. It was a start. It was the start that all children were given when they finally asked. The history of Rutas Mu was only that of the last few centuries. Since the darkness. No one knew more than that. Questions were asked, most were never answered. Most didn't bother to ask anymore. Life took precedence. Most didn't worry about the past, or even the future beyond their own mind. It was simpler that way, at any rate there was other business to tend to, the present and the future was of more concern.

    • While the city itself is large, it like the rest of the large settlements and buildings in Rutas Mu, it is from before the known history. The city has the largest population and rightfully so. It is the seat of the Crown. Most of the military is there. The town is like any other city one would imagine with its areas of more well to do, parts of the city for the middle class and then the largest chunk of the city is filled with the poor just trying to survive. Crime isn't as rampant here as most places out in the wilderness but that is simply because the Crown places most of the funds and gains of the world here. They consider themselves the center of everything and those from here have an air about them that screams "we are better than you."
  • Stormmoor

    • The southern most city in Rutas Mu. A coastal city and warm year round, yet because of this it tends to attract many sailors and pirates alike. Between being a hub to the limited waters and fishing, and a retreat for the lowest of the low the city is at constant war with itself. The crime rate is beyond imagining and there isn't a day that goes by someone isn't found dead in the streets. The people are so used to it they will usually just step over a body and keep on their way as if it was nothing more than a wayward piece of drift wood that washed ashore.

    • The western most settlement in Rutas Mu, situated on the coast and located right between Trihom Waters and Pralm Tides. It is a city under nearly constant touch by the storms. Due to its dark nature, the people of this city are some of the darkest in Rutas Mu. The place is slowly falling to ruins, but people remain. Wealth draws them because of the melding of the fridge north waters and the warmer southern ones creates an abundance of sea life and treasure not found in the rest of Rutas Mu. The numbers dwindle more and more each year and much of the city is abandoned but there are still hold outs.

    • The northern most true settlement in Rutas Mu, separated from the rest of the world by mountains and distance. Only two other places are relatively nearby and they are not exactly settlements. This town supplies those two though with a way to live. Despite being so far away from the rest of the population, things here are rather calm in comparison. Thought not as crime ridden as other cities and town, it still has its fair share but things here are more orderly in their debauchery. A understanding that they are all each other has and they can't just run run off to another city quickly keeps much of the more maddening and perverse crimes at a minimal. Yet life here is harsh and only about 25% of the children born here ever reach their first birthday. Survival of the strongest.
  • Rockvale

    • The northern most town that doesn't have to worry about traversing mountains to get to the rest of the world. It is cold here in the winter but for the most part has far more pleasant weather than Wildevault because it isn't situated between two large bodies of water. With it being an outreach post at the base of the mountains, it is rich with resources but also with crime. Long winters means months closed up with your neighbors and it isn't uncommon to find bodies defrosting in the snow come spring. People thought lost in a blizzard are found with rope marks around their neck; bodies perfectly preserved because of the snow.
  • Midwick

    • Population 873
    • If there could be a paradise in Rutas Mu, Midwick would be it. That is, if it weren't for the fact it was so beaten down by the waves and time. Saltwater and waves wear down the area quickly and the tides make it difficult to access multiple times a day. It is a nice enough to place to visit but few want to deal with it constantly. Not to mention the wild life can make it a death trap. The main thing it has going for it is a lack of crime, the lowest in Rutas Mu but even that isn't enough to keep people wanting to live there. That and the fact that the royal guard trains there and likes to use law breakers as fodder for their training, with or without the Crowns endorsement.
  • Greentide

    • Mostly just a stopping point for those headed out or having to come in from the limited sea quickly. Built on the waters itself, it is constantly being worn away and it a rather common thing for the buildings to crash into the water after so many years of rot and wear. No one is rebuilding and what is thought of as a once thriving town is growing smaller and smaller each year. It is estimated that in the next twenty years it will be completely washed out to sea.
  • Millpost

    • A small farming hamlet between the Capital and Stormmoor. An overnight stop for most to stay away from the roads during the night where highwaymen are ready to rob and pillage as they see fit. It is rumored it is also a trade grounds for kidnappings. Vacationers beware.
  • Greenshire
    • Visual Representation
    • Population 106
    • One of the warmer places in Rutas Mu, and home to some of the better people. It tends to get skipped over by some of the middle degenerate but the lowest of the low do tend to get pulled here because of its innocence. Thankfully for this small community, it has escaped with little issue for the most part, though every few years there is rumor of an innocent losing their way. They avoid the woods with everything they are. Something just doesn't feel right about them. It hasn't since the Celestial Happening.
  • Fearbury
    • Visual Representation

    • Tiny hamlet not too far from Rockvale. The people of this hamlet keep to themselves and pride themselves on not needing the rest of Rutas Mu. Because of their location, few come to visit. Not many wish to travel this far north only to hit the dead end of the mountains. Cold and dreary during the summer, freezing and worse during the winter. That and the location tends to bring far too many Von Batty's - they do love dramatic settings.
  • Riverhollow Bridge

    • An old stone village that is long past its prime. It is the only bridge remaining intact that connects the lower part of Rutas Mu to the upper. Few travel north of the bridge so it has fallen into more disrepair than the rest of the towns and hamlets. It is nearly self imposed separation between them at this point and those that live at the hamlet of the bridge care not for either but have no problem charging far more than they should to cross - Taking a boat in these waters is just a death sentence waiting to happen.

    • The only large lake body of water on Rutas Mu.
    • North river from Garudarf Peaks to feed the lock, drains south to the Primeval Sea.
    • Dark water lock, especially shallow though the bottom cannot be seen. Water is murky and black. Constantly chilled from the water coming from the mountains and covered by a thick fog most of the year.
  • Serene Bay (Fresh Water)
    • Most Northeastern body of water.
    • Calm waters to the storms.
    • Oddly warm water for the northern location.
  • Wyrm Canal (Mixed Water)
    • Eastern Canal, separates Serene Bay and Primeval Sea.
    • Water is mixed from salt water to the south and fresh water to the north.
    • Water is untravelable, rip tides and harsh currents drag any vessel to its grave.
  • Primeval Sea (Salt)
    • Eastern most large body of water
    • Dark and blue waters, shallow waters and coral bottoms.
    • Tides are smooth enough until storm borders.
  • Pralm Tides (Salt)
    • Southwestern large body of water.
    • Blue green waters, very deep. Rough tides near mixing points, miles to western storms. Good fishing for smaller sized fish, large schools.
    • Heavy Trade routes, severe pirate issues.
  • Trihom Waters (Salt)
    • Northwestern large body of water.
    • Extreme depth, chill, and harsh waters. Best large fishing on Rutas Mu.
    • Storms seem to stay ever over these waters making them exceptionally dangerous.
  • Swan Bay (Salt)
    • Small southeastern bay that opens to Primeval Sea.
    • Crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches dotting coast line.
    • Warmer waters, heavily traveled.

    • The largest mountain range on Rutas Mu. Runs from the center of Rutas Mu to the north.

How Advanced Are We?

Technology on Rutas Mu is very similar to what one would think of during the late 18th century on Earth. Some more out lying areas are further back in their technological development and as with the world of Earth, much of what is available and understood as far as technology goes has to do with wealth and birth status. Those who have the funds and the education are more likely to possess or have at least dealt with the more advanced techs while those out on farms with little money are more concerned with making ends meet and live hand to mouth. Those in larger cities will deal with a fair share just day to day and are less weary of new inventions.

Some things that are available are listed below. Technology is not limited to these examples. If you are wondering if something particular is available, just ask. Never assume. Professor Von Batty's typically have the most advanced techs available and will usually either come across the newest or develop them out of driven need. People can get rather creative when trying to develop something.

In an age of moderate technology but limited scientific knowledge myths and legends are bound to arise. What lingers in the dark parts of the world, at night when the light is at its lowest, when the worst happens, there is always a reason. That reason however sometimes cannot be explained, whether it is lack of knowledge or something more is up for debate. Is it something we just don't understand or is it more? Monsters or villains? Angels or heroes? Miracles or just the luck of the draw? We may never know, perhaps it is better if we don't. While knowledge is power, ignorance can be bliss.

Things do go creep in the night and sometimes they get the better of your imagination. Listed below are the major stories characters in this RP would have grown up on. These are their boogeymen. Many claim these are real, that they have themselves seen or encountered them. Others just say they are stories. If your character has partaken in any drug that causes hallucinations, chances are they have seen at least one of these and are probably going to claim they are as real as you or I.

• Land
  • Bzou: A vicious looking hairy man beast with dog like facial features. A brutal and primal driven creature that is overwhelmed with perverse desires. Extremely strong but just as charismatic. It is said even the most pure can fall to their whims. Others have claimed if they are not given what they desire they will take it by force. They enjoy playing twisted games, luring women and men out into the woods only to trap them and do as they will. It is said they were once your common man but that they succumbed to their perversity and instead of fighting it, embraced it.
  • Demonaic: A human looking creature with horrifyingly distorted facial features and body parts twisted into unnatural positions. Said to have once been a normal person, this being comes about when one desires to be controlled after being in an uncontrollable situation, such as being kidnapped or imprisoned. Some tales tell of people asking for the help of evil powers in exchange for their soul. What was once a person is now just a house for an evil entity. Yet once broken free evil never wishes to leave and the being remains, tormenting those when they least expect it.
  • Wyrm: Of all legends, there is always one of a large reptile like creature with wings that is as wise as it is old, who hoards gold, lives in mountains, breaths fire, and whose saliva drips with poison and acid. Such is the Wyrm. Many blame the vanishing of their past to this creature. Saying they were the embodiment of the heavens, coming down to the lands and taking over, removing knowledge and keeping it for themselves. It is said there were once many but they are gone now, no longer needing or wanting to watch us live. (Though some still believe at least one remains high up in the mountains, dormant, sleeping, and there in case we ever become too advanced once again.)
  • Ogre: When the remains of person is found out in the woods half eaten or mauled, it is said to be the work of an ogre. An eight foot tall being with a single eye that craves human flesh. Catching unsuspecting victims out long passed the light dimming in the sky. Some say we all come from the Ogre, that they are what we used to be but when we became civilized our size shrank as our brains grew. Some people who have been found still alive claim it was an Ogre that caught them and tried to eat them. These tales are told to children so many times to make sure they are too afraid to wander off alone.
  • Satyr: The embodiment of hedonism, these half-man/half-goat creatures lurk in forests, by streams, and on the borders of civilization. Playing their lutes or pipes to seduce any beautiful and unsuspecting victim, luring them away from the relative safety. Legend has it that they live in the dark places of civilized men and are said to be especially attracted to the virtuous. It is also said they are what lures the religious to temptation and causes their fall from grace. They love food and drink and are often drunk.
• Water
  • Cecaelia: A frightful marine creature with eight tentacles that is over twenty feet long. Resembling an octopus, these creatures are said to be much larger and possessing high intelligence. Setting traps for ships or divers out in the water, catching them as food or just because they are curious. It is said the darkest waters are that way because of the ink that remains from a massive underwater attack by a Cecaelia.
  • Kraken: One does not simply release the Kraken! The terror of the cold seas. It is said to cause the sea to bubble and boil, to foam up and is the reason for the tides. It emerges from the deep with tentacles the size of a ships mast, wrapping around it, and dragging it down to the depths below to feast. Many washed up ships wreckage is blamed on the Kraken. Sailors driven mad out at sea that wash up with the wreckage claim to have seen them, looked into their eyes and known what that death is truly a living being.
  • Loch: A lake serpent said to be left over from a time long before the lost recorded history. Back when huge beings roamed, a creature that the gods kept as a pet and used the large fresh water lake of Rutas Mu as its home. Neither evil nor good, it is said that Loch just wants to live but defends its home if it is bothered. It is said to watch those on the shore from the safety of the water. Much of the time people will have claimed to see Loch but in the end it was nothing more than a floating piece of broken tree.
  • Sylph: A dangerous but enchanting creature that is half woman and half fish. A stunning woman with the scales and tail of a fish. Vain creatures who if insulted will kill, even if not insulted they might. Said to lure out lonely men by their voice and their beauty, pulling them down to the depth to just watch them drown. Sailors for as long as any can remember and probably long before that had said to have seen them swimming out in the ocean during long journeys or when caught in storms. From time to time it is said that a downing victim in lakes or rivers was lured by a Sylph after being spotted near the shore only to meet their death.
  • Tiamat: A monstrous serpent of the sea, measuring more than 150 feet in length that slips through the surfs as if it is gliding on air. Large fins help it cut through the hard currents. They are said to be a bad omen if spotted but most play off said sighting as nothing but a trick of the eye and a reflection of ropes in the water. Legend has it they are not aggressive but if hungry enough will approach a ship in search of food. Ships that have run aground are said to have been pushed by the Tiamat for fishing in water where the creature dwells.
• Air
  • Imp: A minor creature of evil. A small and red human like creature that is roughly two feet in height. It has bat like wings, horns, grotesque facial features, and a tail with a stinger on the end. Only one at a time usually appears. Scheming little bugger who fly around and cause a lot of twisted mischief. They are said to be able to take the form of a black cat, black dog, a toad, or even a raven. Many people claim that when they do something wrong that they were under the influence and control of an Imp and that there was nothing they could do to stop themselves.
  • Phantom: A ghost who appears to look like a human person but then can go suddenly translucent and corpse like in appearance. They can appear one at a time or up to a hundred in the form of a mob. It is claimed that they can change what a person is seeing, showing them horrible events that have occurred. These visions can be rather terrifying and they are said to appear anywhere a great tragedy has occurred.
  • Spectral: Like a phantom, this is a ghost like creature but in the form of an animal. Appearing normally but turning transparent. They can take the forum of any creature but the most common that have claimed to be seen are that of typically kept pets and are said to form either because of a cruel death or because they still have to protect those that cared for them in life. Children have been known to claim that their favorite dog still plays with them and keeps the bad men at bay. Usually only one at a time is ever seen.
  • Wraith: An evil being with a hatred of the living. It takes the form of a wispy dark human with corpse like skin and an angry expression. Blinded by rage, they are said to be horrible to encounter, seeking revenge for their life. Most who have said to encountered these say it happens at a place of a horrid death, or at least that is what people suspect. Animals are said to rush away from a location if one is near and that they only appear during the night, seeking out someone to harm. Many a suicide has been blamed on these myths, people said to have been driven mad at the sight and fled for their lives only to fling themselves out a window or off a balcony to get away.
  • Fae: Not all legends are horrid to behold. The Fae are an example of this, appearing as stunningly beautiful young men or women in golden tunics and with wings like butterflies or dragonflies. Their feet never touch the ground and they are said to be able to change into the very thing of their wings. They love, laugh, and giggle. Though never harmful, they can be curious and mischievous. It has been said that many a lost children or person of pure heart has been saved from a horrid death because of them.

• Other: Not everyone follows the two main religions of Rutas Mu.
  • About 5% of the population follows their own form of the two major religions combined, taking what they like from each and getting rid of what they don't. There is no set following, just a collection of beliefs mostly stemmed from whatever religion they were raised in.
  • About 1% of the population doesn't believe in anything. There is no god, there was no punishment. Some asshat somewhere back in time fucked shit up. How they don't know but they figure there has to be some explanation for it even if it is one we will never know. Honestly they don't usually care. About 10% of the non believers are in a pursuit of scientific truth but in this day and age, figuring out anything that way is next to impossible.
  • The rest of the population falls under an agnostic belief of types. Sure, there could be something out there, sure there is a possibility of nothing. They don't bother. They just go about their day to day lives and what happens happens for whatever reason it happened.

Like with most societies and civilizations there is a class structure and here you will fall into one of three. There is a fourth but that is Nobility, aka the Royal Family or the Crown. It is the only ruling body of Rutas Mu and you may NOT have a character of Nobel birth in this RP. Sorry, just not going there. Don't want to deal with it. So we are going to a simple cut and dry social structure.

• Upper: Or the Upper Crust. The most wealthy of society. They own the lands, the ships, the large businesses. They have the big houses and the servants. They have the money they need and money to burn. To them there is nothing money can't buy: whether that be love, silence, or power.
  • Referred to as Lord or Lady. (Young men under the age of 16 are referred to as Master)
  • About 1% of the population is considered Upper Class.
  • 5,000-10,000+§ per week of income.
  • Outside of Nobility they are the ONLY land owners. (Everyone pays rent to them.)
  • Wealth gets passed generation to generation. Most wealth was established from before the Storms came. Where it originally came from they do not know but they will do ANYTHING to keep it. Including murder.
• Middle: The bosses. They tend to run things for the Upper Class and Nobility. Military Officers, Church Officials, Clerks, Bankers, Shop Managers, Doctors, Lawyers, and the like.
  • Referred to as Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Miss.
  • About 20% of the population is considered Middle Class.
  • 800-5,000§ per week of income.
  • There is a very large spectrum of Middle Class in both job and income. Some verge on Lower Class, some are close to breaking into the Upper Class.
  • While money is passed from generation to generation, most of what a Middle Class family has is because of the work currently being done. Children tend to follow in their parents foot steps, making sure to go into the family business. They can learn a lot from their parents, growing up on the job. When they come of age children tend to work for their parents and then take over fully when their parents die.
• Lower: The Poor. Laborers, Farmers, Fishermen, Soldiers, Crooks, Thieves, Prostitutes, Servants, and such.
  • Referred to as by their first name. Most do not have last names. If they have a ~respectable occupation~ they will be referred to as that and then their first name. For example: Farmer John.
  • Around 79% of the population is considered Lower Class.
  • 50-200§ per week of income.
  • The largest portion of the population. It is hard, nearly impossible to climb out of the Lower Class. There is just such a division not only money wise but status wise as well. They are looked down on by Middle and Upper Class especially. They are there to make the world more comfortable for everyone else.
  • There is no money to pass from generation to generation. These people live hand to mouth. Sure some might have a trade that they teach their children but it isn't out of pride, it is of necessity. Many don't even know who their parents were, they grow up on the streets and do what they have to in order to survive. The lucky ones join the military or are a servant in a large house. At least that provides steady housing and food.

Money makes the world go round. Or so they say. Now doesn't matter what class your character is a part of, they will have an income. It is NOT needed to write down exactly how much they have. Just know a few things...

• The local currency is called the Sera.
• It is represented by the symbol § (Just hold down the alt key and type 789 before releasing and it will appear. That or copy and paste it.)
• The Sera can be found in coin form only, so hold onto those coin purses.
• Coins are broken down into different values and materials.
  • Copper Coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, & 25.
  • Silver coins come in denominations of 50, 100, 200, & 500.
  • Gold Coins come in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000, & 10,000

The Eye Of The Storm

Every storm has an eye to it, a center, and the storms that surround the world of Rutas Mu are no different. Shadowell Forest is the eye of that storm. Like other storms, the eye of this one is calm. Too calm, and forbidden. Not be decree but by common sense. For as long as one can remember and before that, Shadowell has been a dark and dense forest where few dared to travel. A fog seems to roll through the trees and lash out at any and all that come near it. Some say a dark spirit resides in the heart of the forest. Dark figures, voids of light, shadow movements, a cold chill year round, vicious beasts with dripping fangs howl in the night. All of this and more has kept so many from wishing to enter. The stories of people entering and never returning is usually enough to keep the timid and common at bay.

Only one family resides within Shadowell Forest: The Ambesires. An Upper Class family of eccentric renown. They own all of Shadowell Forest, as well as most of the farm lands surrounding it, and guard the grounds of their home fiercely. It is walled, gated, and guarded with a rather vicious team of servants. It is said that those that have been caught on the lands have never been seen again. No one currently living has stepped foot within the gates other than the Crown. Little is know of the family other than their vast holdings. No one outside of the crown deals with them directly even though they seem to have a hand in nearly all the larger cities and towns. When the Crown does deal with them, they come to the Ambesires, not the other way around.

While most Upper crust families host events throughout the year the Ambesires never have in memory. At least not until now. There is to be a ball that will be held in Shadowell, the first. Families through out Rutas Mu watch for messengers in hopes of attaining the rare invitation. An event that has never occurred, in a place few dare enter, in a home only the royal family has laid eyes on? Oh yes, this will be an event to be remembered for centuries to come. No one that is invited dare not attend.

This defines your characters class and should be guided by any inspiration you have for your character. Your characters echelon will define their occupation, skill set, and place in the ongoing story.

Most characters will fall in the Echelon of Everyman/Everywoman. Some characters will distinguish themselves by being one of the unique Echelons. They will level and gain experience much slower than an Everyman/Everywoman but will gain powerful Special Abilities.

You are outside the law. Are you a typical mugger, perhaps a masked highwayman, or even a pirate! Doesn't matter which of three you are, you are an outlaw. Perhaps you were driven to this life because of the poverty of your youth, maybe you were punished for a crime and you lost all legal status and holdings. Tomb Raider

Graves and tombs are untapped resources. I mean, you can't take it with you right? Well many have tried but that was just dumb in your book. They're dead. They don't need it anymore. Why shouldn't you make a profit? You understand that the stench of a rotting corpse is just the sweet smell of money. And if the dead really wanted to keep a hold of their worldly treasures they would have done more than get buried in a treasure box in the ground. You are just the pirates of the land and a tombstone is your "X Marks The Spot".

And even if the corpse isn't buried with anything, so what? You know that body is worth far more than the clothing on their back most of the time. Upcoming surgeons and doctors need cadavers to work on, to train on, you are happy to provide them with the needed educational materials. You are just investing in the future of medicine. Life on the fringes of society is the life for you, that or you were just born into a traveling band that is family. Wandering from town to town, you perform music and dance, staging shows or boxing matches. You sell your trinkets on the side of the road and promise that great things will happen to those that use your items as you tell them to. True love, money, the fall of a foe; you have concoction for each of them. What does it matter if you use your skills to pick a few pockets along the way? They will deal with it because if they cross you, you do have one or two things up your sleeve to make their lives miserable and make them rue the day they met you. Of course you can always fix that curse you set on them, for the right price that is.

Not to mention you love life: the world, the underdog, a good drink, and a tawdry encounter under the moonlight. Things the rest of the world shun you for even though when you look at them you know they want it and you as much as anything else. They just aren't strong enough to do what you do. Nothing is off limits when you're inside your laboratory, nothing is off limits when you outside of it. You don't even know the meaning of the word.

Purity

In this life there is plenty of evil but some rare souls manage to live in a state of perpetual innocence. The wickedness of the world seems unable to touch them. Perhaps they are naive but that matters not. They inspire the strong to slay the evils of the world. Pushing those around them to do what is right. Sometimes by their words, sometimes just by their presence. It matters not. They are as pure as the freshly fallen snow and even the dirt and grit of the world cannot tarnish them. While they are the general population, the world couldn't keep moving without them, without you. They have their professions, their avocations. From doctors to lawyers to teachers. Some times they are trapped in a profession they are ill-suited to because it was the family business, perhaps they are soldiers forced to fight to put food on the table, perhaps they simply love what they do. What they do though reflects what they have. They are off when not doing what they know. When push comes to shove, they fight with the tools of their trade. They use their daily knowledge to their advantage when they can.

To determine your basic ability scores you may either take an average 9 rating in all 6 or you may divide up 54 B.A. points between the 6 as you see fit.   • How well your character performs in social situations, leadership ability, and social persuasion.
  • Physical Beauty does not factor into your charisma score. A beautiful person can be a bitch to deal with, an ugly person can be a wonderful leader.
  • Low Charisma could mean anything from socially awkward, to constantly angry, or unable to express themselves correctly.
  • High charisma can mean anything from being a great leader, to getting what they want without threats, or the ability to dominate a conversation.
  • Higher Charisma can also factor into being able to resist slipping into madness.
• Intelligence:
  • This includes a characters education, reasoning ability, and memory.
  • Low intelligence does not mean stupid. It could just mean uneducated or faulty memory, perhaps both.
  • High intelligence can represent extraordinary education, perfect memory, or superb deductive reasoning.
• Wisdom:
  • A characters intuition and perhaps even connection to spiritual things.
  • Low Wisdom Characters can be poor judges of character, apt to mess up during dangerous times, or even unable to understand the spiritual side of life.
  • Those with a high wisdom are apt to notice things others don't and may even have a nearly prophetic insight into unfolding events.
  • Wisdom is also used to resist madness inflicted from various sources.
• Strength:
  • Used when characters need to lift objects, bend items, or perform difficult tasks that require muscle.
  • Low Strength can mean underdeveloped muscles, lack of experience with manual labor, or even lack of familiarity with pain associated with exertion.
  • High Strength is usually the result of constant training or heavy manual labor as well as familiarity with proper form moving heavy objects. (Lift with the knees.)
  • General rule of thumb: a character can lift 20 times their strength score in pounds.
• Dexterity:
  • A general measure of speed, grace, agility, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Low dexterity can mean being clumsy, poor balance, stiffness because of injury, or even loss of limb.
  • High dexterity can represent a natural coordination but can also be the result of training in things such as dance, combat, or even archery.
• Constitution:
  • A characters life-force.
  • Resistance to disease, fatigue, and injury.
  • Low constitution can be the result of illness, blood loss, or other afflictions.
  • High constitution can represent a character natural good health or from years of training.
  • Constitution also factors into physical beauty due to being a representation of ones health status.

Outside of the six basic abilities, there is another characteristic that plays into your characters build. More than that, it plays into their personality: Perversity. It defines the extent of their mental and moral corruption. Unlike the basic six abilities a low or high score does not mean they are good or bad at something. It means they are good or evil. This is your alignment in a sense and it comes into play heavily with a characters personality, what choices they will make during normal circumstances and even more-so during duress.

Breakdown of Perversity

• It is rated from 1 to 20.
• The human average is 9, while scores below three or above 18 are extremely rare. (You may not start with a score below 3 or above 18)
• The higher the score the more likely they are to commit an atrocity or morally outrageous act simply because they can.
• Those with High Perversity (15 and above) feel compelled to transgress social and moral norms. This is NEVER swayed from. They have no guilt from doing something wrong or twisted. They are considered Perverse or Evil.
• The higher the score the closer they are to going completely mad but they are better at comprehending strange and bizarre events.
• Those with a Low Perversity (6 or lower) adhere to social norms and conventional modes of thought. They do what is right and cannot bring themselves to willing do something wrong or twisted. They are considered Virtuous or Good.
• As the Rper, you are free to chose the Perversity level for your character. (Though Rakes, Purity, and Professor Von Batty's must adhere to their Echelons special note requirements.)
• If you wish to randomize your perversity level, PM Lady A to do a public 3D6 roll to determine it. (It must be taken as is once called for.)

๑۩↛𝕊pecial 𝔸bilities↚۩๑

Each Echelon receives five Special Abilities. These are set in stone and cannot be changed or traded out. Each Echelons Special Abilities are what makes that particular Echelon unique. These are skills that each Echelon can perform that others cannot or can perform them better than others would. At character creation, your character receives the Special Abilities of their chosen Echelon and those alone. You cannot learn others along the way. A break down and description of each Special Ability by a chosen Echelon are provided below.

Special Abilities By Echelon

Outlaw

Capturing: +1 Bonus on all attempts to grab and hold someone or something.

Danger Bonus: +1 Bonus on all Ability Checks during times of danger, including chases, fights, and escapes.

Concealment: +1 Bonus on all Dexterity checks to hide in shadows or behind objects. Can hide any item up to the size and weight of a normal dagger on their body. +1 Bonus on Intellect Checks to hide a larger object (up to 1 cubic foot per level) in plain sight.

Fame: Can declare that any NPC they encounter has already heard of them, can be declared 1 time per level per chapter. A Charisma Check is made with a +1 Bonus. A success check means they look at the Outlaw favorably. (If they fail the check however the person is instantly aware of the Outlaws Infamy and will rush to alert authorities.)

Running/Equestrian/Sailing (chose one of the three): Only one can be chosen. Bonuses for each are as follows:
Running: Ordinary people cannot outrun you. You are able to run twice as long before becoming tired and can effectively run and jump even when carrying a heavy load.
Equestrian: +1 to all Ability Checks related to riding and horsemanship. Any horse ridden receives a +1 bonus to their speed. You can ride over rough terrain, fight on horseback, and calm a frightened horse without a need for additional Ability Checks. A successful Charisma Check means your mount can jump over small pits (up to five feet wide), or over low obstacles (up to four feet high).
Sailing: You can sail or row any watercraft and maintain it in good working condition without need for an Ability Check under normal circumstances. Successful Dexterity Check will allow you to repair a watercraft, modify a ship, or even construct a boat. A successful Wisdom Check you can navigate a water craft in open seas. +1 Bonus on all Ability Checks relating to sailing.

Tomb Raider

Appraising: +1 to Intelligence Checks when it comes to appraising gems, jewelry, traded goods, or other mundane treasures, as well as estimating the amount of coins in a hoard without needing to actually count them.

Handle Locks And Traps: +1 Bonus to pick locks as well as set or remove simple and mechanical traps such as collapsing pits, spring-loaded dart traps, falling cages, foot snares, and tripwires activated traps.

Iron Constitution: +1 Bonus to Saves against infectious diseases. Immune to any mundane effect that would normally makes others feel disgusted or nauseous. Always entitled to a Constitution Save against disease effects, even ones that ordinarily would not allow it.

Night Vision: Can see normally even in dim light conditions and suffer no penalties for actions taken in such conditions. +1 to Ability Checks in low light conditions. Still cannot see in total darkness without a light source however.

Fighting Fear: +1 to all Ability Checks when dealing with Fear or in Fearful situations.

Bohemian

Animal Husbandry: +1 to Charisma Check to train an appropriate animal to be a guard, mount, or pack animal. Training takes 1 week. +1 Wisdom Check to discern the amount of hit points on a potential mount, guard dog, or pack animal. +1 to Wisdom Checks to train a new trick to an animal, each trick takes 1 week. +1 to All Checks to handling domesticated animals. Any domesticated animal under the care of a Bohemian is allowed 1 re-roll of a failed Constitution Save to resist over overcome disease. At level 6, a Bohemians Animal Husbandry applies to wild animals. Bohemians can start with 1 trained animal such as a dog, horse, or bird of prey.

Boxing: Fighting with only fists. +1 to all Dexterity and Damage bonuses when fighting with their fists and no weapon in either hand. +1 Attack per round if Boxing. May use brass knuckles and retain Boxing bonuses.

Entertaining: Every hour a Bohemian is entertaining a group, they get a +2 Charisma Check to earn money. Level 1-5 they get 1d6 Sera per hour on a successful check, 6d6 Sera for Bohemians level 6 and above. Bohemians can band together and add their levels together when entertaining to earn more money.

Evil Eye: The ability to inflict the "Evil Eye" (a curse) on someone. It can only be used on someone that has materially/physically/emotionally harmed the Bohemian. The Evil Eye will inflict an ~unlucky~ streak on the person until the Evil Eye is removed by the original Bohemian or one of higher level. It may be used 1 time per chapter from levels 1-4, twice per chapter levels 5-9, four times starting at level 10.

Slight of Hand: +1 to Dexterity Checks to pick a pocket of someone they are actively interacting with. +1 to Dexterity Checks to place a small item on the person of someone they are actively interacting with.

Rake

Disguise: +1 to All Checks to make themselves look significantly heavier or lighter, appear to be of a different ethnicity, look like the opposite gender, or otherwise hide their true identity.

Dueling: +1 to All Ability Checks when engaged in single combat. +3 to an Asset when the Rake is in the presence of someone they wish to take as a lover. (Bonuses are only granted if the Rake is the only character fighting that particular opponent that round.)

Fraud: +1 to Charisma Checks against another persons Wisdom Check to convince them they are a different profession, echelon, or person - Such as a Doctor, Tomb Raider, or nobleman. +1 to an Ability Check if they have to "prove" themselves.

Sneak: +1 on Dexterity Checks to move silently or remain unseen.

Seduction: If a Rake sets their sights on someone, they may roll against that characters Charisma with a +1 Bonus to seduce them. If they succeed, the "victim" will for the next 30 days regard everything the Rake does in the most favorable light, agree to all reasonable requests, and desire the Rake as a lover. If the seduction fails, the "victim" will thereafter regard the Rake negatively. May re-Seduce or retry to Seduce a single character after 30 days. (Cannot Seduce PC's)

Professor Von Batty

Academic Credentials: Even though this character is bat shit crazy, they do have an education of the highest level. This will allow nearly instant access to all Universities, Libraries, and other places of knowledge. It will also grant them access to to Forbidden Books and Historical Locations with little to no question that other characters would be Forbidden to enter. As well as being able to use items in facilities of learning or knowledge without a fee.

Mad Inventions: A Mad Invention is an item of strange science, similar to what a talisman would be thought of for a magician. Every level, including starting, a Mad Scientist either gains a new Mad Invention or a new Devoted Servant, but never both. The Player must specify what form a Mad Invention takes – a gun, a box filled with strange gear-work, a drug, a helmet, etc. The form should be appropriate to the effect. A Mad Invention may be used as many times a chapter equal to the characters level before breaking and needing repair. The Mad Invention only works for the Von Batty and never for anyone else. New Mad Inventions are assumed to be created between chapters and the number of Mad Inventions a Von Batty has may never exceed the characters Von Batty Level. All Mad Inventions are assumed to be fixed between chapters as long as the Von Batty can visit their laboratory. (List of Available Mad Inventions in Appendixes)

Laboratory: Character either owns or has access to a proper Lab. It could be in their home or elsewhere. Even if there is no sleeping quarters, most down time will be spent here. Von Batty prefers their lab to be set up in a dramatic setting: tower of a dark castle, secret part of the sewers, a false wall of their home, in a cave, beneath a volcano, etc. If a Von Batty loses access to their Lab they will be unable to create or fix Mad Inventions or gain new Devoted Servants. Establishing a new Lab will cost 1,000§ per level of the character.

Scientific Knowledge: Although insane, Von Batty will possess a vast knowledge in many fields including but not limited to Mathematics, Medicine, Biology, Astronomy, Geology, Optics, Metallurgy, and Physics. +1 on ALL Intelligence Checks of a Scientific Nature to recall a useful bit of information. +1 to All Intelligence Checks to solve complex mathematical problems. +1 to ALL Intelligence Checks to properly identify natural substances and materials.

Devoted Servants: A Devoted Servant is a henchman or slave that serves the Von Batty. Every Level, including starting, Von Batty may chose to gain either a Devoted Servant or a Mad Invention but never both. The Devoted Servant can be of any Intelligence inferior to the Von Batty's. Most Devoted servants are human freaks, shunned by society for their grotesque appearance and are loyal to the Von Batty because they are provided shelter and protection, they are effectively brain washed because of this. They will do ANYTHING a Von Batty asks of them unless it is obviously suicidal or against their nature. If it comes to this a Von Batty may call for a check between their Charisma and their servants with a +1 Bonus. If they win the check, the Devoted Servant does it without question. If they fail, the Devoted Servant breaks free of the brain washing, rebelling and running away. Devoted servants will serve their Von Batty until death takes them or they rebel. A Von Batty can never have more Devoted Servants than their Von Batty Level.

Purity

Resist Evil Influence: +1 to All Ability Checks against Charm, Evil Intentions, Suggestion, and Perversity. +1 to Charisma Checks against Seduction.

Grace Of The Heavens: At the beginning of every chapter, a Purity receives 1 point per level of Grace Points. Grace points can be used to re-roll any basic abilities check or damage roll. Cannot re-roll their own checks. May use Grace points to help Allies in need or obstruct those that could harm them. Grace points replenish at the start of every chapter. (Grace of the Heavens may even be used when the character has fainted.)

Inspirations of the Virtuous: All characters with a perversity score of 12 or below receive a +1 Bonus on all Ability Checks as long as they have the Purity within their line of sight. Bonus applies even if the Purity has fainted, is asleep, or otherwise unconscious. Bonuses are not combined if there is more than one Purity around and a Purity may never use the bonus for themselves unless they are looking at another Purity.

Redemption: Those who spend a full day in the presence of a Purity may voluntarily reduce their Perversity by 1 point. (This is their choice and they can refuse the reduction if they so chose, or are required to retain a certain level of Perversity.) A Purity cannot reduce their own Perversity but they can get a reduction if they are in the presence of another Purity. (Full day, leaving their side for any amount of time negates it, hope you don't have to pee.)

Faith: At the beginning of each chapter, a Purity is granted +1 Faith Point per level. Faith Points can be used to ~heal~ a person through their Faith. Faith need not be religious, it can just be in humanity, the persons own goodness, etc. This can be used against injury, unconsciousness, poisoning, bad luck, etc. Cannot be used against the Evil Eye. Purity must touch the target for Faith to be effective. A roll is made with a +1 Bonus against the Purity's Perversity level, a success is any roll that is above the characters Perversity Level. Effects may or not be instantaneous.

Everyman/Everywoman

Profession (Chose 1): Primary Vocational Training, chosen at character creation. Can always perform simple, routine tasks related to their Profession, without the need of an Ability Check. +1 To ALL Ability Checks for Difficult or Complex Tasks related to the characters Profession. +1 to ALL Ability Checks in which the skills of their Profession might be helpful. (List of Available Professions in Appendixes)

Avocation (Chose 1): A secondary field that is pursued outside of the characters actual occupation. This can be a hobby, a second job, or knowledge gained by Proximity. (Such as the maid of a Clerk might acquire the abilities of a Clerk.) Character must always make an Ability Check for any task related to the Avocation, even mundane or routine but they receive a +1 bonus on ALL Ability Checks when done. If there is a Check that can utilize both a characters Profession and Avocation at the same time, the total bonus will be +3. (List of Available Avocations in Appendixes)

Affections (Chose 1): A person, place, or thing which the character is particularly attached to. Affections can range from family dog to their family home. When acting on behalf of their Affection, the character receives a +1 Bonus, on top of any other Bonus, on ALL Ability Checks.

Inheritance (Chose 1): Everyman/Everywoman Characters always possess 1 thing of importance that was passed on through their family. This can be land, property, or even a strange portrait of an unknown subject. Even an orphan will have an Inheritance, even if it is just a necklace that was found around their neck as a baby. +1 Bonus to ALL Ability Checks to protect their Inheritance.

Social Contacts: Ordinary people count on each other for survival in times of crisis. An Everyman/Everywoman have a close circle of friends/family that is equal to their Charisma +1

Each Echelon receives two Weaknesses. These are set in stone and cannot be changed or traded out. Each Echelons Weakness is there to impose unique limitations on that Echelon. They are there to not only help create interesting situations in the role play but to balance power. At character creation, your character receives the Weaknesses of their chosen Echelon and they can never be overcome. They cannot be traded out for different ones. They are set in stone and will forever affect your character.

Weaknesses By Echelon

Outlaw

Hard Luck: Any legitimate business started by an outlaw is doomed to failure.

Infamy: Every month an Outlaw stays in the same area they must make a Charisma Check with a -1 Penalty. If they fail it, the authorities are aware of their presence. They could pursue the Outlaw, blackmail them, post wanted posters, hire bounty hunters, question associates, etc. This Penalty compounds over the months and an area is defined as anything that can journeyed by horse or sail in 1 days time.

Tomb Raider

Criminal Entanglements: You are forever part of the criminal underworld, no matter your wealth. This means that your name might be given to authorities during an interrogation, a favor might be called in that you cannot refuse, or a dangerous job must be taken to keep your secrets.

Secret Life: Can never be honest about their occupation. Outside of your clients, small circle of friends, and criminal underworld you must always keep your vocation a secret. Penalties for tomb raiding a severe, including execution. Guard this secret with your life.

Bohemian

Social Discrimination: You live on the outskirts of society and because of this you will constantly be singled out. If a crime is committed you are the first accused. If a spouse cheats, their other half automatically think you seduced them. If they befall bad luck you obviously set your evil eye on them. You are subject to discriminatory laws, unjust abuse, and are assumed to cheat everyone at every turn.

Desired by the Perverse: While you might not be Perverse, you surely attract the Perverse. They watch you, follow you, become obsessed with you. They will come to you like a moth to a flame. Their intentions are never pure and all Perverse will receive a +1 Bonus on Ability Checks when attempting anything in your direction personally.

Rake

Faithless Lover: A Rake has a fickle heart and can NEVER know True Love. While other characters who are in love can receive a +3 Bonus on Ability Checks to protect their love, a Rake will never have this. They do however get their +3 Bonus when dueling to impress someone they wish to take as a lover. A Rake also will lose interest in a lover in 1d8 weeks after the initial ~bedding~, no matter how strong the attachment might have initially been.

Fascinated by Innocence: Beauty and Innocent attracts the Rake, Purity being the ones that drive them the most. If a Rake encounters a character with a Perversity below 6 or a Charisma above 12 they will become instantly obsessed with corrupting them. They will want to be around them as much as possible and will do everything in their power to sully their virtue or have them engage in a criminal behavior. They will try to corrupt the moral by showing them how happy they could be if they just followed their desires. They will try to engage innocents in the most disgusting and depraved acts.

Professor Von Batty

Attracts Angry Mobs: Your Insane and people do not like the insane. For every month you are in an area there is a 1 in 20 chance an Angry Mob will form to try to kill you or force you into exile. The Angry Mob will not listen to reason and there is nothing that can stop them besides their death, your death, or you leaving the area.

Incurable Madness (Chose 1): Every Von Batty suffers from some kind of mental disorder. This Incurable Madness inflicts them no matter their Perversity. The Insanity is both a debility and a likely source of their genius. You must specify what type of Madness your character has at creation. It can be OCD, BiPolar, another known disease of Madness, or one you create on your own with GM discretion. The Von Batty could be obsessed with trying to recreate a lost love or even specific bodily functions. Whatever the Madness, it must be one the Rper can RP properly! If the Von Batty hears voices, those voices will be controlled by the GM and must be reacted to by the character as if they are real.

Purity

Fainting: When a Purity encounters anything horrible they are bound to faint. This can be an ugly person, a scary beast, or any frightening scene. They must make a Save against Charisma with a -1 Penalty or faint for 1d4 rounds. They only faint once per scene or encounter of person/beast. Yet if they are removed from the situation and then reintroduced, they must make the save again.

Misfortune Of Virtue: If something bad is going to happen, it will most likely happen to the Purity first. If there is an attack, they are first to get injured. If there is a kidnapping, they are the first target or mistaken for the target. If there is a chance for a Purity to fall into trouble, it will happen. A Purity will always fail any checks to notice a trap or to know when danger is around. If there is a trap, a Purity will always trigger it. Misfortune is drawn to them.

Everyman/Everywoman

Phobia (Chose 1): A person, place, thing, or situation that the character has an irrational fear of. When their Phobia is present they will have to make a successful Intelligence Check with a -1 Penalty to even remain near the Phobia. Even if they succeed they will still be very uncomfortable. They will also receive a -1 Penalty on ALL Checks when in the presence of their Phobia. -3 Penalty if they are having to act in direct confrontation of their Phobia.

Common Phobias include: the color black, blood, cats, corpses, darkness, disease, doctors, enclosed spaces, heights, a specific race, rats, the color red, sex, snakes, and spiders.

(It is something that can NEVER be overcome, so play close attention because you will be held to it throughout the characters existence. They will forever fear this one thing, it cannot be beaten.)

Prejudice (Chose 1): An irrational dislike of a persons class, a place or a thing. Anytime when a character encounter one of their Prejudices they will automatically have a negative feeling. If it is a person, they will refuse to hire them or associate with them and always look at them in the most negative light. If it is a place they will never willingly go there. They have no fear of the person, place, or thing but this feeling will never go away.

Typical Prejudices include those against: a race, a profession, a weapon, a name, short
people, tall people, a political group, the poor, the rich, the bourgeoisie, a mode of transportation,
women, men, a sexual orientation or practice, advanced technology, or a particular religion.

(It is something that can NEVER be overcome, so play close attention because you will be held to it throughout the characters existence. So say your character is Prejudice again Lower Class Citizens and you are speaking with a Purity of Lower Class birth, you will forever dislike them, no matter how wonderful they are Rped. No love, like, or even acceptance can ever be between an Everyman/Everywoman and their Prejudice.)

๑۩↛𝔸ssets 𝔸nd 𝔸fflictions↚۩๑

Where your echelons will determine a heavy part of who your character is, where they come from, and their abilities they can limit the uniqueness of one character to another of the same echelon. This is where your assets and afflictions come into play. They allow you to further customize your character and add some additional complexity. You are encouraged to be creative when choosing an asset and affliction.

Assets are a positive characteristic, personal ability, or mastered skill. Whenever your asset relates to a situation at hand you have an increased chance of success. When rolls are needed, your character will receive a +3 bonus to the roll.

Afflictions conversely are negative characteristics or debilities. If your afflictions relates to the current situation, you will have a decreased chance of success. A -3 penalty are imposed when confronted with a situation dealing with an affliction.

Do note - for every asset you chose for your character you must pick one affliction. Each character must have a minimal of 1 and a maximum of 3 to start. There must be balance.

Instead of having to write down every last little coin and item your character carries or possesses we are going to attempt to make things a tad more simple. (I know, a little late for that but better late than never.) When thinking about your characters wealth, you will just put in Upper, Middle, or Lower under classes. From this all I ask is that you act accordingly. If your character is Upper Class chances are they have everything they need, but may not carry many weapons on them at all times. Sure they may have access to them but why carry three different guns when you have servants. When you are upper crust money provides others to take a bullet doesn't it? Carrying so much would just get in the way of your fashion and attitude. Lower class people are not going to have finery, maybe a single heirloom but even that is most likely just a worthless trinket and only holds sentimental value. They would though be more likely to have a knife on them just in case. Middle class would be in the center. Remember when in this RP no member of a Class may own land unless they are Upper. It is just how Rutas Mu works.

Now as far as your equipment goes, use this section to put what they would normally have on them. Day to day. Your typical stuff. Seriously I will shoot down anyone outside of an appropriate Echelon that is carrying more than two weapons on them. I will assume that if your character is coming they are packing what they need for the time. These spaces are limited to what is available already on the CS and they are mostly just for reference to give an idea. I would suggest however that anything special of note is listed here as well. If it is not going to be on your character but is in a trunk - simply list out the trunk and then in in the places below list the items of note that will be held in the trunk with an * by them. Perhaps books, love letters, portrait of your family, an heirloom, etc.

Please be aware that there will be certain times in the Rp it may be needed that we need exact lists. We will address those times when they come. Otherwise it will be assumed your character has everything they need on them. If the Gm says it isn't something you have, you don't unless it is specifically listed. Even then it could have been lost or stolen and your character just didn't realize it until it was pointed out.

A general list of Goods is provided in Appendix 10, along with the general cost of such items. This may help you determine anything of note for your character and a few things about what your characters level of wealth might provide them.

*Note this, make sure that invitation is listed on your CS or you aren't getting in. Do you really want to spend the beginning of the Rp turning around, going home, and retrieving it?

The main hook of this Rp is the fact that your character is being blackmailed. They did or are accused of doing something that would ruin their life if it were to become public knowledge. It doesn't matter if what they are accused of is true or not, sometimes the mere appearance of a scandal is enough to ruin someone. I would suggest thinking on this for a bit and working out the details in your mind before you commit to a reason why your character is being extorted. You are going to want it to make sense with your characters personality, their background, their social status, and history. Also, if your character is already a villain type, many crimes they wouldn't care if they were caught. Hell for some it might even enhance their ~status~ so chose wisely. If it doesn't make sense, it won't be accepted.

Examples include adultery, apostasy, arson, assassination, assault, bestiality, bigamy, blackmail, buggery, bribery, drugs, dueling, embezzlement, fornication, fraud, gambling, homicide, incest, kidnapping, larceny, perjury, prostitution, rape, robbery, smuggling, sodomy, and tax evasion just to name a few! Just remember to have the crime fit the character.

• ⊰ℂrime⊱ Crime Name Here: Now details. Why they are being extorted? Give at least one detailed paragraph describing the circumstances of the so called crime. Now, the reason for blackmail might not even be something your character personally did, perhaps they are protecting someone. List a second paragraph of what would happen to the character if this information came to light. (Note, this means a total of 2 paragraphs required.)

  • Do not post here if you are stating reasons why you aren't joining.
  • Check Ego's at the door - I do not put up with bullshit, flamers, trolls, whiners, egomaniacs, etc.
  • Applying does not mean acceptance. Gm reserves the right to deny anyone for any reason at anytime.
  • Gm does and will request edits to CS and IC posts if things are missed, over looked, or cannot be reasonably explained.
  • Gm will not answer questions that already are answered in the IC, OOC, Chat, or SI Forum
  • Gm will work in side quests and story arcs - Just PM them.

  • Do not submit WIP's - Final CS's only.
  • PM GM your CS for approval. Do NOT post your CS in the OOC!!!!
  • GM will post a ~shortened~ CS of your CS to keep all your yummy secrets, well secret.
  • If you submit a Cs and you do not follow the rules and instructions it WILL be denied and not be allowed to be resubmitted with edits. In other words, it is scrapped.
  • Change color code to one not in use (This is required for various reasons)
  • Stay away from red and gold due to "note" and "link" colors.
  • If you have problems with changing out the color code or any of the coding, just pm it to me and I will take care of it for you.
  • May not use default CS color, any colors currently in use by active characters or that are close to another characters color.
  • Dark or Hard to read colors will not be accepted and will be required to change before a CS is accepted.
  • Images are not required but are highly encouraged for visual and music video purposes. Only 3 are requested in your CS, so this hopefully won't be an issue.
  • All images in Cs must be links, not active images.
  • Remove ~instructions~ on CS before submitting
  • You may NOT alter the Cs other than filling it in and removing the instructions. Additional images, changes in look, using image fonts or adding in personal touches will not be accepted.
• General Rules
  • Follow All Forum Rules.
  • No Flame Wars in OOC - Have a problem? Take it to PM.
  • No Meta-Gaming, Bunnying, Auto-Hitting.
  • Remember IC and OOC are two different things - keep them separate.
  • Language/Gore - No Filters - So you have been warned.
  • Taboo subjects will be crossed but will be maintained to fade to black if needed.
  • All Lady A Rp's cross certain lines, many subjects are not for the easily offended or triggered. This includes but is not limited to murder, torture, debauchery, lechery, prejudice, and all forms of shenanigans.
    • Just because something is allowed in RP does not mean the GM believes it is right OOC.
  • Romance:
    
    • Allowed but keep it Pg-13, then fade to black
    • No prestarted couples. No one knows anyone else to start or even who anyone is. If something happens, let it happen naturally.
    • If love interests and couples form too quickly in the GM's opinion she is not above a required roll from LLA to see if love can occur or if they end up hating each other just as instantly as they fell in love.
  • Approved and active members of the Rp will be given the link to Lady A's Rp Chat. It is required to check this daily.
  • The world is controlled by the GM - All NPC's, weather, what you see, what you find, what happens, everything. So if it isn't in my post, it didn't happen. If you need more information, either tag the Gm in OOC or drop a PM. Assume nothing.
  • All skills and attempts for things must be sent to the GM for rolls to deem success or failure. Rolls are made in the Discord roll channel for transparency.
  • Randomization and LLA is used in this RP - Please refer to my tutorial for a description if you are new to this concept
• Posting Habits
  • You are not allowed to use @Mention Tags or Interacting With Headers In IC.
  • You are not allowed to copy and paste anything another character has said or posted in a previous post in your posts.
  • Uniform Headers for Character must by used in IC posts (code provided in Appendix 6)
  • No Characters images allowed in IC posts unless preapproved by Lady A until further notice.
  • No ~direct images~ period in IC posts unless preapproved by Lady A - Links Only.
  • Your characters personal color code must be used for dialog.
  • Minimal of 250 Words Per Post
    • Post on SI first and hover over the stars in the top left hand corner of your post to check post length.
    • Once posted on RPG, edits for post length will not be accepted and you will be removed from RP if your post does not meet the minimal.
  • Minimal 2 posts between your last.
  • Must IC post once every 7 days (It is your job to keep up with when you need to post. Your last post hits Day 8 and I remove you from the RP.)
  • If you need additional time to post you must notify the Gm before day 5 of your counter. Extensions will not be granted after that. I will try to work with you but only if you are up front, honest, and keep the lines of communication open. Real life comes first but joining this Rp means you know and respect what is expected of you and your fellow RPers. (You aren't the only one with a life)
  • I do not accept "no inspiration", "waiting for someone else to post", or "I have nothing to post" as a reason not to post.
  • Keep up with all IC, OOC, and Chat posts - This means read them all.
  • No spamming OOC - Seriously, I will gut you.
  • If you are holding up the RP and joining other Rp's you will be called on it.
  • No editing a post in IC once it has been posted without first getting permission from the GM.
  • If a Gm calls for an edit that is your ~permission~ to edit.
  • If an edit is required to your last post it must be done before day 8 on your previous posts counter or you will be removed. (Posts that need editing are considered incomplete.)
  • No Editing IC/OOC/CS posts.
  • There is no additional time granted due to forum glitches.
  • All Accepted members of the RP will be given a link to register on my groups private RP forum.
    • You will have to register for it.
    • All your IC posts have to be posted there as well when you post on RPG and are part of your post counters. (This is our back up for when the forum messes up.)
    • Counter run until posts go up on BOTH SI and RPG
  • Collabs
    • Must tag the Gm in OOC to notify her that you are collabing and who are you are collabing with before day 5 of the highest counter. Collabs may not be started after you hit day 5.
    • If you are collabing and your partner vanishes or does not reply, you must finish the collab and post it before the timer runs out. If your collab partner vanishes you are granted temporary minimal bunnying privileges to complete the collab. If your collab partner vanishes, let Lady A know.
  • Know your personal posting limitations before applying to join - Work gives you a schedule, schools let you know when finals are coming, plan around these things. Ask for an extension before day 5 of your counter. If you have a busy time coming up, you are free to ask for extensions up to a 6 weeks in advance.
  • You may withdraw from the RP at any time and be put on Hiatus for an extended amount of time if your schedule becomes over whelming. You are allowed 1 Hiatus per year.
  • If you join other Rp's while on Hiatus you will not be admitted back to the Rp and will be considered ~kicked~.
  • If you leave the RP, flake out, ghost, or are kicked from the RP the GM takes control of your character and it becomes general NPC property of the RP. The character may just be shelved, might be killed, or turned over to another Rper. (Most likely @Sigil just because I do love a good killing.)
• Spots are not first come first serve
  • Gm will review completed CS first.
  • Gm will then notify you if you are approved or if an edit is needed.
  • Character deaths will happen, no one is safe. In fact part of this RP is about killing, you trying to kill them, them trying to kill you. Welcome to Thunderdome.
  • I am looking for long term highly dedicated Rpers. My Rps tend to run a minimal of a year, so be prepared for it!
  • This RP is NOT within the Lady A Universe Timeline 'Verse. Illusory Liaisons stands alone.

I want you to finish your Cs, take a good look at it, latch onto what you feel when you read it. Special Rules For Book 1: Machiavellian Masquerade

• No one will know anyone else starting this RP
  • This is a Mystery RP - that means you are trying to solve things that happen in RP.
  • Secrecy is Key - guard yours closely.
  • Clue Sheets are provided for you so that you can keep up with things. Use them. I would suggest Pming them to yourselves. You don't want everyone to know what clues you have found. Who wants to give someone the information you know? Screw that. Hoard all the glory for yourself. ^_~
  • Leveling is part of this RP. Every character starts out at level 1. Refer to Game Mechanics about leveling.
  • Special rewards will be awarded at anytime, so stay on your toes.
  • Try to break out of your norm. It's okay to be a villain. In fact, it's encouraged in this RP.
  • Do NOT speak about your character to anyone but the GM before the RP begins. (Well I can't exactly stop you but seriously, take this rare opportunity to be mysterious.)
  • Said it before will say it again - Cs's are to be submitted to the GM via PM ONLY! Any showing up in OOC will be auto rejected.
  • Approved Cs's will returned in a shortened format
• No Relations with other characters; family, met in other rp's, or each other in this RP to start.
• Certified Fresh Characters only - please do not reuse a character. (This should go without saying because of the rule above but hey, putting it in anyways.) - And try not to reuse an FC.
• 1 and only 1 character to start, no matter how long you have been Rping with me. More will be accepted down the line, I will notify people when I am willing to add more.

• This is a Chapter Based RP
