Current Two days ago, Noble Arms is indisputably four years old, spread out across three threads, and the third thread is still ongoing and about to reach the endgame...

Can't believe that I actually got an RP close to its endgame, btw...

Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Yup, I'm aware of that. Might make things a little more interesting, don't you think? And the cell Andrew's in might not necessarily be in lockstep or even in constant communication with the cell I'm thinking of having my character leave, because this RP's lore describes the FPA as a "hodgepodge of cells"... Not to mention that so far it looks like the people running the rebellion are a bunch of jerks themselves anyway 😁

Pfft, true.
@AndyC

Since it looks like you're in between missions, I'm thinking of playing an IndustrialMech pilot who defects to the mercs from the FPA because his cell leader rubbed him the wrong way. What do you think?

Well, we might be forming an alliance with the FPA soon, or at least, my characters are angling for one...
Is this still open?

You're the new guy in Discord, right?
Chapter One, Desperation in Lingayen, Part Seven

Lingayen Beach, Municipality of Lingayen, Lingayen Gulf

Noel nodded at Nemo's response, saying, "Good; we might need you later on, then. In the meantime, query: Are you here as a volunteer, or as part of another nation's special forces or related group? And if the latter, can you share me any details you know? It might be useful to know who our allies are..."

The boy was already suspecting just what said allies were. Then he continued, "If you really want to help in the battle, ask for a longer-range weapon, perhaps a sniper rifle, if you know how to use one. But to be honest, I would prefer it if you tell me why you've been sent to fight and how you feel about it."

He's too young, even for an Arms Master. Much too young, Noel lamented.

He noticed that Lotus Squadron decided not to attack Ren Huo/Huo Ren, which was all for the best as Princess Fukuyo had begun attacking him, her charge kicking up sand from the beach while Lucy was charging up her own weapon for an assault. His next words were to Qingshe, "Get me a visual and sound feed of the fight -"

It was then that Kaitlyn and Team Carrie interrupted them all with even worse news: Apparently, the Chinese had an Arms Master who can control the rocks, soil and sand, and was ready to cause an earthquake/landslide which might bury the battlefield. For a second, Noel was overwhelmed, before forcing himself to say, "Sophist, how far and deep can you manipulate gravity? Can you use it as a sort of sonar to detect buried objects, assuming, of course, that 'Tian Fei' is buried underground?"

The other Arms Master answered quickly, "Nope, but I can just make large areas of earth super-heavy for a time and keep on doing it until I hit something! If Callie's Team can keep me safe, I can probably crush the enemy Arms Master in her own hole!"

Noel blinked before remarking, "So, whack-a-mole. I like it..."

-------

In the meantime, Huo Ren had taken up Princess Fukuyo's challenge and lashed out with a spray of superheated hydrogen from his left hand that would result in serious injury if they hit the Princess, but if they did not, the heat they gave off would empower her Noble Arm. But it was clear from his eyes that he had a plan.

His next move was to raise his spear, and a sudden flash of light blasted the battlefield, bright enough to temporarily blind even those who closed their eyes and didn't have specialized eye gear or protective powers; would this affect Lucy's 'charged' attack? And were Lotus Squadron away enough to avoid the effects of the bright light?

Either way, Huo Ren would move to cut at Fukuyo's shins with his spear's head, hoping to capture a precious scion of the Japanese Imperial House; his superiors and his troops wanted to do so for... historical revenge purposes.

The next GM Post should be coming soon!
The RP is still being discussed on Discord.
Raven Rivers

The blood price had been paid; violence for violence, grief for grief. As Raven had his Shadow Hawk begin retreating along with the convoy, he said to the enemy, "Console yourselves in your defeat - It will mean nothing in the end."

His mech began running for the storm, following his commanding officer - Ingrid - and the rest of the convoy, realizing that his outburst would get him a stern talking to (at best) from the Colonel once they were back home. But he knew how useful he still was and how his actions hadn't endangered the group... Yet. He can get through the long talk and remind the Colonel that while the latter had his love interest imprisoned, he had a lawfully wedded wife and son in that same imprisonment and risk of execution.

Wait, no, that's a bad idea. The Colonel does not know he loves the Captain yet, and tugging on his heartstrings might get me a worse punishment than a talking-to and maybe the first level of punishment.

Colonel Gaius Wayne was a friend, a friend who had grown somewhat distant from the chains of commanding others, but still a friend. He needed to save this friendship; he cannot lose more ties with other people. But considering how his wife and son were still in enemy hands, how they can be tortured in unspeakable ways at any moment, then killed, how can he not lose it? This was his family he was talking about; every second they were in the enemy's prison was a second of uncertainty that gnawed at his heart.

He had thought that fighting in the battle would remove some of the uncertainty; it did, but it took a psychotic outburst to cleanse himself of some of it. Rage had freed him of his feelings for a few seconds, and that was alluring, addictive, and above all, dangerous.

The sound of raindrops could be heard hitting his mech, and as his cockpit cooled, Raven knew this: That if this continued, if he surrendered again and again to his rage, he'd lose the Colonel's trust, and may have already lost Ingrid's, and will lose everyone else's.

Katrina and Andrew's faces flashed before him, driving away guilt and regret as he whispered to himself, "Katrina, Andrew, I will rescue you... Whatever it takes."
Raven Rivers

"Shut. Up!" Raven said as he had his Shadow Hawk grab the Wolfhound by its remaining arm, hoping to pull it closer to where he can punch it on the head and cockpit with his mech's other hand, again and again and again. "You're the bad guys here! You have our children as your prisoners! Stop pretending you're anything but! Fuck you! Fuck. You!"

I will kill this man, the man thought as he lost himself in hate, not registering whether he had succeeded in his attempt at Mech unarmed combat. For Katrina, for Andrew, I will kill this man, this enemy pilot. I don't care if it kills me, I'll kill him and the other foes and kill and kill and kill -

"Hahahahaha!" a laugh escaped his lips, "If you guys want to be psychopaths and sociopaths, I will oblige! I will kill you all! All! For my own family! For the people you all killed! You don't care! I don't care as well!"

The Shadow Hawk continued punching at what Raven thought was the Wolfhound; hopefully his grab attempt had succeeded. "You will die here! You will pay! You. Will. Pay!"

Nothing would dissuade him, not enemy fire, not the growing heat of the cockpit, not the orders of his friends and Ingrid. Maybe the Colonel could stop him, but would communications reach him in time?
Raven Rivers

"Joy," the pilot named Raven remarked with a note of sarcasm, even as he charged up his Shadow Hawk's laser to fire at the enemy mech which was called a Raven (yes, it was confusing as it sounds). He then continued, "You've succeeded in infuriating us. It would have been best if you had just negotiated our departure from this planet instead of attacking us, our spouses, and our children; now you've left us with nothing to lose and everything to gain by splattering your asses to the ground. Plus, aren't you mercs too, or are you going to tell us you're something fancier? If so, I don't believe it."

He was waiting until the other mechs close to him scored hits at the ECM-emitting foe, hoping that they would breach the enemy Raven's armor with concentrated fire before he shot at it with the hope of frying its circuits, letting loose an intensely blue beam of light aimed directly at the mech's cockpit. That ought to end the enemy mech for good and restore their own Raven (the mech; still confusing)'s ECM bubble. Once that mech was slag, Raven would turn his autocannon at the Wolfhound Arroxy had shot at, pointing his autocannon at it and firing a round of large bullets at the 'Light Mech' before remembering that this was supposed to be a fighting retreat.

Hatred seeped through his voice as he spoke, "You're going to know what it's like to be unable to protect the people you care about. Not that you care about anyone but yourselves..."
