My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

When the experimental super AI technology of Sigvald Industry was stolen by the company’s many enemies, it set in motion one of the greatest disasters in human history. The Great Corporate War had been raging across the Jovian Sphere for many years, and each faction continuously sought advantage over one another.

Knowing full well the potency of their incomplete AI that their enemies would surely employ, Sigval Industry quickly implemented their dangerous technology. Replacing their human coordinator commanders with the Super AI, they quickly gained a great advantage over their foes, but their enemies soon implemented the stolen technology as well, shifting things back into balance.

Things began to go wrong as malfunctions after malfunctions flared up left and right, but the warring Jovian Corporate could not afford to stop using the incomplete AI. All things culminated in the Jovian Rapture as the many Mobile Doll armies turned upon their own creators, causing great devastation across the Jovian sphere.

The many Jovian colonies quickly reactivated their reserved second-line army of human-piloted Mobile Suits to counter the horde of rogue mobile dolls. Meanwhile, the rogue super AI sent their malicious codes across the human sphere, triggering many automation systems to turn on humanity.

Rising against the threat of AI, the United Nations of Earth, the Ares Republic of Mars, and the Venus Conglomerate sent forth a massive combined army to crush the rogue supercomputer. The war that followed devastated most of the Jovian colonies, while Mars bore the heaviest of casualties among the combined forces.

In the end, many Jovian colonies and corporations that employed the super AI were held responsible and forced to pay massive reparations to the coalition force, pushing the prosperity of many Jovians back by several years. The heartless demand had planted a seed of hatred into the heart of many Jovian Leaders, and they vowed to punish those who shackled them with an agonizing burden…

In secret, they began to prepare for the day they would inflict suffering upon those they believed had wronged them…

To fuel their upcoming war of anger, the Jovian Leadership had formed together into the secret Jovian Empire/Jupiter Nation and pushed the people under them to work hard, imposing harsh labor on all to acquire more resources to pay the war reparations, while having surplus to create their secret army. Furthermore, the Empire continued to fail to produce coordinators with newtype capabilities; thus, they had to rely on finding ones among their own people, taking them from their families to be trained into soldiers, willing or not. Such a policy had pushed many Jovian citizens to the edge, and some decided that they had had enough…

Solar Century 2XX, on a certain, unimportant-looking asteroid, the Azazel Installation, a secret military facility of the Jupiter Empire, was scheduled to receive a secret delivery of supplies required to keep the place running. For the past few months, the Installation had run into one bad luck after another. Accidents after accidents, followed by a delay in the supply run, had greatly soured the mood of everyone onboard.

The supply ship docked without any incident, but things turned to hell the moment the ship’s many hatches opened up, deploying heavily armed soldiers who opened fire on the Installation crews…

The Jovian Rebellion had begun…

Daniel Iskander Tripp

The cell was beige, with only a bunk bed, a mattress, and a toilet, plus a sink. The door was made of thick metal, meant to remind the prisoner inside of his status. There was a hanger, plastic and rounded to remove all sharp edges, that held a spare prison uniform; a white shirt and pants, plus beige work boots.

But Daniel knew Kazuki was coming; the guard actually had a heart.

That didn’t mean that he wanted to feel the pain and suffering of the battle in the corridors. The flashes of anger, rage, and betrayal. The confusion of not knowing what was going on.

Were the other Newtype Kids in the facility feeling this as well?

The door opened; it was Kazuki, still in the matte black Riot Police Armor that hearkened back to ancient times, yet modernized to be airtight enough to act as a Spacesuit. He had a helmet on, yet Daniel knew it was Kazuki; his Newtype senses had grown more powerful in the quiet torments of the facility.

This was confirmed when the older youth lowered his gun and said, in a modulated but recognizable voice, “Hey, Danny; I’m busting you out of here.”

Prisoners usually had a shock collar around their necks until their loyalty could be ‘secured’; Daniel was no exception. With a press of an invisible remote (Borderline Illegal VR Tech?), the shock collar fell off.

And he and Kazuki began to run.

Kazuki Yamagata

Kazuki could not believe that he was betraying everything he knew for an Earthnoid kid, Newtype they may be. He was selfish, throwing away the needs of his people for his own benefit. So be it; he wanted what Daniel - Danny - had promised him and that was experiences beyond what his ‘Genetic Destiny’ mandated for him.

He sought freedom, and that was why he and Daniel were running through the corridors, hoping to reach the hangar his Mercurius was set in before his treachery was recognized.

Three guards rounded a corner between him and Daniel; these were people he knew as comrades and partners and teammates, people justifiably confused why he was running around with one of the ‘subjects’. They glanced at the lack of a collar around Daniel’s neck, and that was when Kazuki realized one thing: They were comrades, but not true friends, not true family.

He shot them first, his assault rifle on full autofire, leaving no survivors. More sirens rang, and he and Daniel kept going, to where his collaborators in the Jupiter Liberation Front - His discreet contacts - had seized the hangar where his MS, the Mercurius, lay down and was waiting to be activated.

Corpses lay where the heavily-armed rebels had put down resistance. The facility had been caught by surprise, and several other children like Daniel were rescued. But now came the hard part; fighting their way out. To outside Jupiter Nation territory; to Oasis.

He gestured to Daniel to follow him as the Mercurius’ cockpit opened up. They climbed onto an elevator that led to the cockpit seats.

Both of them then sat down; it was going to be a long ride, and Kazuki handed Daniel a spare pilot suit from a compartment.

Right now, as he mentally prepared himself for combat, Kazuki Yamagata, now a rebel, found himself lacking regrets…

Outskirts of OASIS-3

A ragged cargo ship, escorted by a battered and scarred Mercurius Mobile Suit, was detected moving towards Oasis-3’s hangar bay, broadcasting a distress signal.

Will Chancellor Jerome Lanthell let them into the Colony?

Viktor Raja and Cristina Bernardino followed Wu Shufen and his group of mundane troops as they ran from the spreading flames of the melting deck, towards a relatively open space at the center of the floor. He then turned around to face them as his bodyguards formed a closely-packed, square-ish formation just behind him, then grinned.

And from nozzles on the flight deck gushed a mix of water and specialized firefighting foam, foam that covered flammable liquids and prevented them from igniting once more. The water was strong enough to knock several grown men overboard, and would be enough to fling Mikey and Nil off the deck unless they found a way to avoid the full force of the 'wash-down system'.

Viktor and Cristina were thus in a position to see their comrades in trouble; sprayed with water and fire extinguisher at best and flung off the ship at worst. But their troubles were not over yet, as Wu Shufen slammed his staff onto the ground, duplicating Viktor's shockwave from before and buffeting the two TFO members with an ergokinetic wave that had the force of two trucks.

Then he 'blinked' in front of Viktor, teleporting close to him using a duplicate of one of Cristina's powers, and swung at him with his staff even as his bodyguards fired to suppress Cristina.

Small firefighting vehicles laden with hoses, dry powder, and more foam were rolling through the decks; each of them had dedicated firefighters as well as PLA Marines with assault rifles with armor-piercing ammunition. These doubled as crowd control now, as they were firing their hoses not just at the fires set, but also at the members of Task Force Obsidian, and the hoses and dry powder were joined by the PLA Marines' bullets...

Admiral Yi Yeol knew that the ASEAN/Allied Flotilla can withstand the twelve corvettes and ten destroyers of the enemy's first wave. What was important was to keep the Guangdong and Lioning - The other PLA Navy Aircraft Carrier - pinned down or destroyed so that the enemy's second wave would lack strength, coordination, or the morale that came from having two Capital Ships at their backs.

This was a job made much harder by the fact that the Liaoning was untouched, ready to support the potential second wave as the first one began to crumble underneath the determined fire of ASEAN ordnance. As Lotus Squadron and the various ASEAN Air Wings that had deployed to support it held the skies in vicious combat against an overwhelming flock of PLA Air Force fighters, the Admiral knew he had to remove the other Aircraft Carrier as a factor.

The ongoing fight between Wu Shufen and his assailants was tempting to continue, same for the ongoing engagement between the Guangdong deck's defenders and the rest of Task Force Obsidian. But he knew that Cao Bao was not there, or had been ordered to let his comrades die in droves to sharpen a surrpise, and so keeping TFO on the now-damaged Guangdong was a gamble.

And Admiral Yi Yeol knew when an offered prize was just tempting enough to sieze, yet a distraction from the real goal, Victory. While he sympathized with the individual Arms Masters' desire to destroy Wu Shufen and the Guangdong's compliment of aircraft, he knew that sometimes, one just had to let go of bait that had lost its value to the ones grabbing it.

So he opened a line to Callie as she focused on overwatch, while sending a message to Myron...

"Specialist Lindmann," the Admiral's voice could be heard from Callie's speakers, interrupting her presumed observation of the situation. "We have established that Cao Bao isn't on the Guangdong, while the Liaoning - Their other Aircraft Carrier - is in full fighting form. We've seen what you can do back in Lingayen; destroy both Aircraft Carriers. Then evacuate Task Force Obsidian back to the BRP Jose Rizal's infirmary afterward."

Special Agent Myron in the BRP Jose Rizal's control room received a similar message through text, If Specialist Lindmann is somehow unable to evacuate Task Force Obsidian, do so.

Cornelio Malong of the Philippine Government of National Salvation's intelligence agency faced Director Bathala as both looked at the bladed mirror that was the former's Noble Arm, but it was the latter who spoke a cold, terrifying truth.

"Lei Qingshe, Cao Bao, and many others on both sides of this conflict have vanished. It appears to be a variation of Japan's Crown Prince's ability to retcon himself from this plane of Reality, only people still remember them. The New Disablers and False Turing are growing in strength."

The response from Cornelio in his wooden seat was, "How long till the endgame, then?"

Director Bathala's expression was dour, very much grim, as he said, "A few more months; enough time for the People's Republic of China to either crumble in an uprising or overrun the Philippine Archipelago. Either way, False Turing will break the wheel by Easter 2023 next year..."

Field of Cars, File Island, Digital World

Coelamon screamed in rage as the attacks struck its eyes, then began laughing uncontrollably as Cardmon flew over to touch its snout, saying, "That Tickles! That Tickles! Stop!"

Trying to shrug off the attacks once more, but weakened by Cardmon's curses, the silver-scaled piscine Digimon turned around, still laughing and choking as it shuffled back into the water it came from, barely able to say, "You'll all pay for this!," before disappearing into the sea, the bubbles that flew up from the water being the only indication that it was still laughing.

"We've won!" said Elecmon to Andrew, before he heard Klara's question and replied to her for the entire party's benefit, "Yes. Or rather, we're supposed to fight while you pump emotional energy into us. Dorumon, can you explain further?"

Dorumon was shaking his head, his purple tail with a white tip wagging along with him. His next words were rough, "No; we're wasting time. I have to protect the Digi-Eggs in your village, Elecmon. Now get our cast of characters introducing themselves and get them to the Mansion at the foot of Spiral Mountain; they'd prefer that to any campsite."

Elecmon's eyebrow spiked as he glared at Dorumon in accusation; was his friend ordering him around? He grunted and said to him, "All right, Dorumon."

Andrew, meanwhile, forced himself to listen to the entire suspicious exchange. As Joel was quiet, and so were many of the Isekai'd folk, now traumatized, he decided to take the initiative. Clearing his throat, the redhead said:

"Hey, guys! My name is Andrew, Andrew Starling. And yes, I am the pop star of that same name, if any of you have listened to my music. I sing about roses, teenage life, and how cool life is when you just let go of your worries and relax. So, Elecmon is taking us to a mansion once we introduce ourselves, so why not do so as fast as we can?"

Angemon’s Mansion, File Island, Digital World

The journey to the base of Spiral Mountain was long, boring, and filled with people asking Elecmon why they were going there to begin with.

“Oh!,” said Elecmon, “Spiral Mountain is where the person who ordered us to be hunted down, ClavisAngemon, is living, and we are… convincing him to stop sending Digimon to attack us. And we’re going to do that by demonstrating that not only can your bonds with your Digimon strengthen them, but also evolve them. You see Coelamon, the Digimon who attacked you? Well all Digimon can have an Adult Form like he does but you can, using your Digivices, ‘Digivolve’ your Digimon to that form at will once you master it!”

Even if some of the chosen didn’t like the situation, they had little in the way of other options, especially when the digital world was apparently full of bounty hunters and there was supposedly only one way for them to get back home. Not all of the chosen were cut out for a long hike, but thankfully, they didn’t encounter any hostile digimon on the way there.

When they finally reached the mansion in question, most of the chosen were tired enough that it only made sense to take a break, and it was late enough in the day that they would have to set up camp soon anyway.

The mansion itself was large and made of marble instead of wood or painted stone, with Greek columns and statues on the pathway leading up to the square oaken doors at its front.

Upon being approached, those doors opened on their own, leading to a warm and cozy lobby with red velvet sofas that had golden lacework at their edges and bottoms; one can notice that the golden lacework was actual gold, and some of the patterns were made of the 'Digimojis' that Dustin had seen before.

There was also a fireplace, and a table with actual fresh fruits; some of these were ‘normal’ fruits that can be bought on Earth, others were… strange, with some having purple skin with lime-green polka dots and others being lime green with purple stars.

That, and a pitcher of milk and several empty glasses, showed that they were expected. This was confirmed by the fluttering of wings from a spiral staircase up ahead, and an Angel, or someone who looked the part, flew down from its top, not bothering to use the steps.

“Angemon!” Elecmon greeted his old friend. “How’s progress getting the Bounties on me and the Humans removed?”

The Angelic Digimon smiled benevolently, its ebony, statuesque upper body reflecting the firelight’s glow as it said, “Patience. Right now, you and the others are guests; you will not be harmed under my hospitality.”

It/He then turned towards the group and introduced himself, “My name is Angemon; one of the last of my Species after Elecmon was wounded and rendered unable to Digivolve. I am the Vizier of ClavisAngemon, ruler of File Island, and trying to get the bounties on you all removed so that the Demon Lords, our true enemy, can be fought. Now, eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow…”

He chuckled, then shook his head a little before saying, “Just a little joke. Please rest, my guests…”

Mykhailo Martinez

After finishing the talk with Ayvee, and hopefully deepening their friendship (?), Mykhailo was now listening in the briefing room, with only one question in his mind. Lifting his right hand up like a schoolboy, the youngest pilot asked, "Sir, are we assuming that the foe's aircraft are grounded, or that we can catch them by surprise before they scramble or that they are not flying patrols? Either way, the enemy are going down, whatever they put up."

Two more kills and I have Ace-hood. Two more kills and I make the enemy fear.

Mykhailo reminded himself that he should be careful about avoiding missiles and flak, too. The fraction of a second between his own shot and that of the enemy's; the importance of getting the drop on them and making sure that he had a plan for when someone got the drop on him... He lived for that.

It's a fiction, that you're doing this for the N/UN alone. You don't need the payment - You're rich just like your family. You need the thrill, the action, the adrenaline. And underneath, you want to do it without feeling like you're the bad guy, the one in the wrong, the bully. You want to be the good guy who does this because it's the right thing to do to protect others and stop the horrors of war from reaching you and yours'.

Mykhailo was at peace with himself right now, at peace with admitting, I like being a pilot. I like being a merc. I like fighting while thinking of myself as the good guy.

And honestly... That's fine.

Hello, I go by EvilDark and I'm trying to explore the world of roleplay. My goal is to get better at character building, storytelling and roleplaying as a whole. If I had to give one fact about myself it would be that I'm a huge pasta fan and if I could I would never leave olive garden without a fight. Please be sure to drop a fun fact in with your replies^^ and thanks for the warm welcomes

Forgot about the fun fact; did you know that this isn't the first version of Roleplayer Guild? There was one back in 2007 - 2014 (?) that ended up dying and being replaced with this one.
