"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts // And I looked,
and behold a pale horse // And his name that sat on him was
death, and hell followed with him."

In the historic downtown of Baltham, it was busy as usual for small business owners that managed to stand strong against the Zemreaft Mall and the major retailers. Even know it isn't as popular as the modern downtown, people manage to find themselves in this area. There was the well known Kennedy Square Park with its ironic bronze statue of a lion and lioness. Some of the tourists often visit the park to take pictures of the statue while visiting the old town of Baltham. And there was the classic Sweet Bay Hotel designed to look like it was built in the early 1900s despite being constructed in the early 1980s. There were many more landmarks and areas only known to the locals.

Next was the modern downtown filled with offices, technology companies, and commercial districts that rivaled any city in the West Coast. There was the recently opened boardwalk filled with businesses with the aim of making tourists spend their. Despite the boardwalk being small, it was big enough to fit the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast called Revolution. Meanwhile, one of the ferries entered the terminal filled with people from Seattle. Theodore Ochoa was one of its passengers that developed food poisoning out of the blue and it was weird because he didn't eat much. Regardless, he planned on going back home after a long business trip in Baltham and hoped it would go away after rest.

However, it got worse.

He began to sweat only a few minutes after leave the ferry. Then, the headaches appeared with enough pain to cause him to lose focus. Next, when he pulled up to his driveway, he was weak and felt like passing out at any moment. His wife was gardening outside when she saw her husband nearly falling to the ground. She dropped her tools and caught him in time. She tried to ask if he was feeling alright, but got no response other than coughing. That was when she took him inside immediately and closed the door behind her. A nearby neighbor, Benjamin Dunnings, noticed the whole thing and wondered what was going on. But he decided to go back inside to finish watching his favorite lunch time show.

About fifteen minutes passed before Benjamin heard a blood curdling scream coming next door that caught him off guard. He got up from his recliner and ran outside with a cell phone in hand to call the authorities. Once outside, he saw other neighbors that also heard the screams. Some of them had already called the authorities even know the screams had stopped. Naturally, Benjamin and another neighbor went to the front door and began knocking on it. At first, there wasn't an answer. After a few moments of waiting, Benjamin decided to kick the door open knowing that someone was in danger. He saw a lot of blood on the wooden floor that concerned him and the neighbor. Benjamin decided to investigate the house while the neighbor stayed behind.

Once inside the house, he looked around for the source of the blood and found that the living room couch was covered in blood. A bottle of DayQuil and a broken mug laid on the floor in the living room. Benjamin began to question if he should have come into the house at all until he heard noises coming from the kitchen. He called out with a sample "hello" while approaching the room. No response. Then, he heard chewing sounds as if he was eating something. Benjamin carefully walked into the kitchen and discovered Theodore on the ground eating... his dog. He couldn't believe the sight and felt like throwing up.

It was the same dog that Theodore's wife always talked about ever since adopting her a couple years ago. She loved that dog to death and now her husband was eating him like it was a piece of steak. Eventually, Benjamin had to throw up because of the terrible smell. He saw a trash bin near and threw the lid to the ground before throwing up in it. The sound of the bin hitting the floor caught Theodore's attention almost immediately. And after Benjamin was thrown his guts up, he turned and saw that Theodore was getting up from the floor. He back away for his own safety while Theodore was rising up. Then, he turned to reveal his bloody mouth and it scared Benjamin enough for him to run. He kept on running as fast as he could towards the front door to alert the neighbors of what he saw.

Before he could reach for the handle, Benjamin heard someone coming down the stairs and turned to see that it was Chelsea Ochoa with a massive bite mark on her head. It was big enough that she was missing her left ear. Benjamin couldn't believe what Theodore had done to her and naturally went to her check on her. "Oh my god, are you alright?" Benjamin asked Chelsea, who only responded with a growl.

Outside the Ochoa household, the police officers were talking to neighbors about the situation until the door was kicked open. Benjamin cried out for help as Chelsea was biting on his neck and officers rushed towards his aid. One of them pulled out a baton and started beating her with it while another tried to pull her off of him. She turned towards the officer and tackled him to the ground while Theodore was walking outside for the first time since coming home. Neighbors cried out in horror while some started filming the whole thing with their cell phones. The other officer attempted to get her off of his partner, but the baton proved to be ineffective against her. Then, Theodore fell down and nearly managed to bite the officer in progress.

The other two officers pulled out their pistols and aimed at the couple demanding their surrender. Instead, they stood up and began walking towards them. Six shots rang out and each one of the bullets hit the couple. The crowd freaked out from the gunshots and started running away from the scene. Naturally, getting hit by a bullet meant you were on the ground in pain or dead. But, something strange was happening. Neither Theodore or Chelsea was on the ground and kept marching towards them. The third officer pulled out his pistol, aimed for Chelsea's head, and pulled the trigger. That was finally when she fell to the ground lifeless. The other two officers fired at Theodore's head and watched as he also fell to the ground.

Afterwards, the third officer rushed to check on his partner and the other victim while another officer was calling for backup and medical aid. One of the neighbors had been filming the whole time and decided to post the entire video on their Twitter account. In the matter of minutes, the video blew up and started to spread all over the website. Eventually, it got the media's attention and they began covering the breaking news. And there was still enough time before lunch ended.

Roadhog cringed at Junkrat's response and went back upstairs to search around for valuable resources. So far, he found empty water bottles, old food packaging, and items that once belonged to tourists. That was how he found a Newsweek magazine tablet on a table nearby some dirty plates. It most likely belonged to a tourist that foolishly decided to visit the Outback. Roadhog didn't care about the fate of that tourist at all. Originally, he planned on looking at the magazine for a brief moment until he saw the words "Omnic Crisis." Those words caught his attention right away and he immediately picked up the tablet. He made sure that his huge hands weren't in the way of the words and started to read the article.
Siberia: Ground Zero for the Second Omnic Crisis

According to the latest report from outside sources, the Russian Defense Forces had lost control of Tomsk in Siberia to Omnics and suffered heavily casualties. Three hundred RDF soldiers lost their lives while defending Tomsk for the incoming Omnics. Tomsk is the first major city in Siberia to be under Omnic control since the First Omnic Crisis. Now, the RDF and nearby authorities are planning rescue operations for the two hundred thousand citizens trapped. Meanwhile, the Russian president has called for the international community to acknowledge that the Second Omnic Crisis is happening and demands international aid. In a speech, he called out the United States of America and the European Union from "sitting on their hands as hundreds are killed." So far, no one has acknowledged the incoming crisis and no plans on intervening in Siberia have been announced.

Roadhog didn't know how to react to the news. For one, he knew that the Omnics were going to rise up once more against humans just like they did years ago. But, he didn't know when the article was published. It could have been a year old or a week old. He didn't have any way of telling the time in the Outback. He placed the tablet back on the table and resumed searching the upper levels. The remaining rooms didn't contain much other than a backpack of water bottles and chips. After searching around for a while longer, he decided to check up on Junkrat. It wasn't a surprise that he hasn't run off yet. Hell, he seemed to be having a good time while killing Johnny's guards earlier. Before Roadhog entered the quarters, he heard some noises nearby and went to check it out.

When Roadhog reached for the door handle, he heard sounds of weeping and moaning and knew that they were tourists. Poor idiots that thought exploring the "savage Outback" was going to be a fun experience. Instead, they were captured while their tour guide and his protection were either killed or sold off to a different slave group. He finally opened the door and saw five tourists tied up, scared out of their minds from the firefight outside. They were more scared once they saw Roadhog in person. One of them started to cry for mercy, thinking that they were going to die. Roadhog, on the other hand, didn't want to kill or deal with them, but he had to now since nearly all of the guards and Johnny were killed painfully.

He went outside and shouted loud enough for Junkrat to hear, "I need some help with these tourists!"

As for the OOC and IC, please give us a few days to set things up and come up with an amazing intro.
Still open for business, or have you found your 4-5 players?
I could probably have a character in by tonight, sometime. I am about to start my shift at work, or else I’d be working one out as we speak.

Write out a post with your character doing ordinary things. Treat it like a preclude to your introduction post. You must be able to write two or more paragraphs (preferably more than two) in a matter that's readable. The sample post will also be judged.

[h.r]
Alright, I have decided to make everyone that applied and will be applying include a writing sample in their character sheet. Given that everyone has already finished with their characters so quickly. As far as the age limit goes, I would like characters to be at least sixteen years old.

Roadhog watched in the distance while the lizard was picking up orbs that float across the battlefield. He was still confused about the whole thing. There wasn’t a moment of time to demand answers, but he didn’t know what to ask. So many questions that might not even provide him with an answer. Then, he watched as the lizard was screaming at the remaining rabbits. And somehow managed to convince them to join his side. It was an impressive task to accomplish because Roadhog thought he was a complete fool. Then, he heard shouting behind and saw that the two humans were arguing about something important.

One of them left with a huge grin on his face while leaving the other one behind in disbelief. Roadhog saw that he was approaching the man with a black hoody. While walking towards them, his mind started to wander around about the cowboy with that strange device on his arm. He looked like a Junker, but Roadhog would have recognized him by now, especially with the way he looked and acted. Even when he was standing besides him, Roadhog kept looking at the man figuring out who was he. Then, there was the black hoodie man.

He was a strange fellow compared to the others thanks to the hoodie; however, one of the creatures said that he was the one who “free him.” He had some questions regarding that and turned away from the cowboy to the cloaked man. “Early, something said that you freed me. How? Why?” Roadhog kept the question simple enough for a proper explanation. After everything that had happened, he deserved some answers.

I understand the worry about having so many military/vet characters in a survival horror, but two of the three vets asked if they could be one. One of the reasons that I said yes was because of their age. They weren't going to be thirty years old that came back from service and is ready to kick ass. And I felt comfortable enough to see their character sheets. Of course, they aren't automatically accepted. Nobody is accepted. Me and Euphonium will be reviewing every character and judging them based on whether or not they will fit in with the roleplay and how much work and care you put into your characters. After all, we are looking for a small number of people for this roleplay.

And with that, I am announcing that nobody else can apply to be a military vet. We already have two of them. @Prizrak, I am afraid that you have to be only a police officer. Because you didn't ask either me or Euphonium if it was alright that you could make a military vet that's a police officer. Plus, I am worried about Eliza becoming OPAF due to her having both military and police exp. It is fine if you want Eliza to be an police officer but you can't be a vet. You don't need the military to join a police department just that you are in good shape and pass the physical and psychological test.
