Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

"Then go." Sasha said to Ariel, keeping her eyes on the dragon. Was it moving? Ever so slowly, she was sure it's lifted food was moving to the ground. It was definetely lower to the ground then it had been. A little annoyed at Ashlyn, Sasha, "I wasn't screaming because I was afraid, but because I didn't know how to protect everyone."

She turned her attention back to the dragon, the others, making sure that they were heading away from the dragon at least.

"I don't fall, F-Ferrin." Patrick said, as he shifted where he stood, his gaze on the dragon and drawing a deep breath, gathering his magic, he poured more power into the spell, holding the dragon where it stood. "No. You must stay with your slayer, Exceed. Keep her safe." He absolutely refused to let anyone carry him, maintaining eye contact on the dragon, he started to walk backwards, his steps sure as he did so. He did not seem to need a guide as he walked along. "Whatever you're doing, please hurry." He said softly as he realised Ferrin was throwing spells around.

He truly wasn't certain of how much longer he could hold the dragon for, it was already taking more magic than he had first thought. He wasn't about to admit it, however.

When everyone was following Ferrin and Marvis, Sasha started after them, making sure that Patrick stayed behind her.

Ignatius shoved Rajah ahead of him, making sure the little Exceed was moving away from the dragon before following. He did his best to stay behind her, to protect her if need be. His gaze swept over the land, and he shouted down below to Penny and Jasmine, "Look's like there's a large group on the other side of the island." He decided not to mention the dragon that they, too, were running from. He figured that there was more safety in numebrs. Plus, he was sure that there was another Exceed there. More slayers.

Penny kept Jasmine up as much as she could, keeping ahold of the younger girl's hand so she could pull her back up as needed. She couldn't believe she was here, doing this... that she had dragged Jasmine into this mess. She was meant to protect the girl... and instead she was having her run from dragons, on a clearly unstable island. She knew Jasmine was capable, but she didn't know what she was doing...

At Ignatius's shouted words, Penny sighed wearily. Perfect. Not sure how big the island was, but knowing that it was big, Penny didn't know how far they could run. And she couldn't take to the air. Feel more and more frustrated by the moment, Penny continued to urge Jasmine to run, feeling the tremours as more dragon's came to the surface, the roars...

"Not much further... "

"Amaya!" Ignoring the grip Ferrin had on her, Sasha's voice broke through the commotion like shattering glass. "You don't need to be a slayer to stop a dragon, but that is besides the point! You are not in charge here! I told you to stand back! Like Ferrin said, for the moment it is best to retreat!" They had no idea if there would be other dragons coming, they couldn't stop to fight when if they did, another might be coming to bite them in the behind.

She should have expected this... Shifting, her grip on her staff increasing, Sasha sought to make sure everyone else was retreating to, hopefully, safety. Patrick's voice reached her ears, responding to Ferrin's question.

"I haven't been carried since I was found in the rubble of my home, I assure you Old Man, I can walk and maintain the spell." There was no malice in Patrick's voice, indeed he seemed almost reminiscent, his voice soft but determined. "I was raised to never give up. By both my biological and adoptive parents." He seemed quite proud, saying that and Sasha started to look back to him, curious when something caught her eye.

A scream rent the air before she realised it was her own and she flung up her free hand, the ice wall forming and rising high in the air. The flame passed through it and over the group harmlessly- the illusion disappearing almost as soon as it had appeared, the dragon- a twin to the one currently frozen in time- that had conjured the flame disappearing as well, the people that had been there also fading from assistance.

"Hurry." Patrick said, his voice a little breathless now.

"The island remembers." Marvis said sadly, "Come. This way... we'll avoid the waking Dragons, for now."

Sasha sheepishly let the wall fall, breathing out with slight relief as she did so. She couldn't believe that she had screamed... Shaking her head, she urged Ferrin to go ahead, "Lead them, they can't see her, I'll make sure everyone is following."

Relieved that Jasmine didn't seem hurt, and that she wasn't hysterically at least at the moment. The danger, even the possibility of it, was simply too much around them to have to worry about calming Jasmine. "Shhh. It's okay, Jaz. Concentrate on me, okay? That's all you can do." Penny shifted her grip, and it took her a few moments to bring forth the healing song, knowing that the young slayer was probably being assaulted by everything around them. "I've got you, Jaz."

As Jasmine tensed, Penny glanced about them, and when she jumped so hard, Penny had to secure her grip on the girl. "Yes. Dragons." Penny said softly, "Don't worry. I'll be with you. Ever step of the way, Jasmine." She said, as she began to walk. They couldn't stay where they were, like sitting ducks. "come on, stay close." She told all of them, glancing to the exceeds, pleased to see that both were following her orders.

In moments though, she found herself crouching around Jasmine as the ground shook, and a roar shattered the silence in the air. It was incredibly close, and Penny cursed, shifting so she had her back to Jasmine, glancing every which way. Almost at once, Ignatius was by her side, looking around behind them. The Exceed had a determined look on his features, his wings beating smoothly as he searched. "Rajah, don't go running off." He said, his done indicating he would not tolerate her disappearing on him.

Another roar broke the air, and a shadow fell over them, and a large figure appeared. The black dragon didn't seem to notice them. For how long, she wasn't too sure. As the sun glinted off the dragon's scaled body, she saw that it wasn't truly black, but a dark slate grey. Its scales seemed hard as iron, and Penny knew she didn't want to go up against it. Not alone.

"Run, Jasmine." Penny said softly, as the ground shook again and she could see trees moving, shaking and falling. There was clearly more than one Dragon on the island awake. Magic swam around them, and Penny could imagine that it was thick... shaking her head, she kept her gaze on the dragon, ready to take to the air. "Ignatius, see if you can find the others. Take Rajah. Look for a large group, a ship. Jasmine." Not waiting to see if the Exceeds listened to her, Penny turned, grabbing Jasmine's arm once more and starting to run, pushing the girl ahead of her.

Elsewhere, she could hear fainter roars, and all she could think of was getting to the others. Safety in numbers, but also she was determined to make sure that Sasha was okay.

The red dragon, glittering like a gem, towered over Patrick, and those he was trying to stop. As the shadow fell over him, Patrick turned as if he was merely looking at a sculpture. A clap like thunder echoed around them, and the Dragon froze in midstep. "I can't hold him long, get back." He said calmly, the dragon frozen in time in front of him.

"Don't freak out!" Sasha shouted, her voice clear and loud, gripping her ice staff, "No one run off!" The appearance of the dragon was more than a little terrifying, But Sasha was not going to let that show. Gathering her strength, she stepped forward, looking around at everyone else.

Penny had expected to not arrive on the island. She had known that that wouldn’t be possible, that they would be dumped just about anywhere near the island. She had hoped they would land on the ship the others were taking, but evidently not. Keeping a secure hold on Jasmine, Penny ignored her screaming for the moment. The girl would settle down soon, she knew.

Looking around for both Exceeds, not even sure why she was worried about them except that they were her responsibility right then. Ignatius was frantically searching for the lost Rajah and Penny wondered if the small exceed had gotten lost in the transition.

She was just wondering if she’d have to go back and search for the annoying little creature when Rajah shot out the water, evidently trying to carry and eat as much fish as she could. Giving a soft sigh as Ignatius shot towards the small Exceed, he took one of the fish and cast Rajah a look as if to dare her to say something about it. He put it away for later, most likely a snack for Rajah.

Looking about them, Penny could see the island nearby- a short flight away. It looked to her as if they had simply been dumped on the very edge of the islands protection. She saw no sign of the ship the others had taken, and a fear gripped her. Had something happened to them along the way?

Only one way to find out.

”Lets go.” she called to the Exceeds, before starting towards the island. She held her breath a moment, but it seemed nothing had happened to them. The others must be on the island, then. Perhaps they had arrived on a different side. It did not take her long to reach the island and she landed, making sure that she didn’t jostle Jasmine.

She listened intently, still keeping a hold of Jasmine.
Sasha was a patient person. But even she seemed to be growing a little agitated at the continued arguing. She had told them what they were going to do, and she was going to stick with it. She was going to make sure everyone came back alive. Closing her eyes a moment, she let out a slow breath. “No.” She said sternly to Amaya and Cecilia. “If you can’t follow my orders, then you shouldn’t be here. I don’t want anyone going off- Patrick, maybe go get Karn- alone. It’s not just me being bossy, I want everyone to return home safely. If you go off alone and in the air, we can’t help you easily. You will stay with us.”

She turned away, looking towards Ferrin. She was unsurprised to see that Patrick had disappeared while she was speaking. She watched Ferrin and Mavis for a moment, before she broke into giggles. She could well imagine what everyone else saw, Ferrin speaking to himself, calling the thin air names. “He’s not crazy- well no more than usual. He’s speaking with Mavis, she can generally only be seen by those of Fairy tail descent.” She explained, mirth in her voice.

She raised her voice, “Ferrin? Mavis? You’re concerning the others.”

Michael looked up at Prince. He had long since got use to Prince’s height-it was rare that someone would make him feel small, but somehow Prince did. And despite the fact he knew that Prince could look after himself, Michael couldn’t help but feel a need to protect him. Prince wasn’t really that impulsive, but he also didn’t seem to be aware of the dangers around them.

“Yes... the fun stuff. But there’s the fighting too.” He pointed out, for a brief few seconds his stutter seemed to disappear, only to return as he continued to speak, “I d-dont’t even know w-w-why I’m h-here,,, “

Patrick nodded as Sasha addressed him, and with a small burst of energy, he seemed to be the only thing moving as he froze time for a few seconds. He took ever second of that to hastily catch up to the rambunctious Karn. Quite calmly, he stopped in front of him.

Time resumed.

“Halt.” He rose a hand up, prepared to stop Karn should it be needed.

Penny gathered what they would need, but choice to travel light. She paid to have their things taken to the guild hall, and once she was satisfied, she took out a Lacrima from the pack that held what little she was taking. It glowed with a light gray smoke, the power within it making the small glass ball seem pleasantly warm.

“Okay everyone, gather round.” She said, looking to the two exceeds. What she was meant to do with them, she didn’t know. They seemed to just assume that they were coming and that was that. She knew some slayers had exceeds, but she had never heard of a Phoenix Slayer having one. She could understand Jasmine having one...

Sighing softly, she decided to face that problem later, and allow the exceed to come with them. Although she would be adamant that they would not get close to the fighting, who knew what they would do?

“Let’s go.”

As soon as everyone was gathered around, Penny made sure to keep ahold of Jasmine, not wanting to be parted should something happen. Her hold was secure but gently, and when she was satisfied she activated the Lacrima, hoping that this would work.

Immediately the ocean air assaulted her senses and she knew something was wrong. “Jasmine!” Keeping her hold on the younger girl, Penny let her flames envelope her, catching them both just before they could crash into the water. She shot into the air, glancing about them.

“Rajah!” Ignatius shouted as he hovered in the air, searching for the small exceed.

@Crimson Raven@PandaBrady@Zarkun

Actually.... given the fact that it has been twenty years since magic has started to come back and the council before the current council was corrupt.... it does fit. It would certainly be something my evil kalinda (I have a good version of her too) would do. So... I think its okay.

But yes, I do agree with the rest of that for Alexander

As for Alvina, I'm willing to give anyoen a go, to improve their writing and test themselves. I know I myself have come forward in leaps in bounds by pushing myself, I can certainly do evil and.... I was trying to thin of a way to write this without swearing, but dickheads/assholes well now, particularly in the last eight months or so of developing my skills there. So, I'm content with Alvina.

Tristen is fine.

I might have to com eback to Devin, as well as Nina.
@Lunarlord34 I can't remember if I ever responded to you about Syleste, but she's fine with me.

@PandaBrady Give me some time, gotta look over the document, just doing this to let you know that I am not ignoring you.

@Genon seems fine to be, wait for @Zarkun or @Expolar (If the latter is around, of course)
Micheal

Use to Prince and his antics, especially the continual touching, Michael was nevertheless surprised that Prince didn't react to the roar. Michael himself flinched away from it, somewhat closer towards Prince and glanced around. His hand went to his keys, but he didn't pull them out just yet. "i... uh... y-yes... an ad-adventure." he said, not seeming at all confident. What was he doing here? "What are we meant to do?"

Sasha looked to Amaya, listening as she spoke. She shook her head, "No... its a good idea, however I do not think the dragons will be spread apart and then we run into the same problem, one group may run into all the dragons and then be in a difficult situation." Maybe she wasn't suited to be the leader of this expedition, if they were already questioning what she thought was best. But she knew that she had to consider all the options, and it wasn't an easy choice. She had to know, she had to a hundred percent sure, that she was making the right choice.

She had to make the right choice for everyone. For the future. For her child. Closing her eyes, Sasha was on the verge of agreeing, when a voice broke through the air. "Oh, there are no armies here, just the dragons."

She opened her eyes, looking around her and was surprised to see the same figure that had been watching them, however briefly, from before. Marvis. She watched the group with a smile on her features, "And, of course, you." Her gaze roamed over those gathered, falling onto Ferrin. The smile seemed to fade a moment, becoming thoughtful as she watched him.

Jarvis

"I'd rather you were close, too." Jarvis said, although he would have prefered that she remained away from the danger altogether, but he knew he couldn't protect her forever. No matter how much he wanted to, Amelia was growing up- she could defend herself. It didn't mean he would stop trying to protect her... he was not going to lose either Amelia or Sam.

Penny

Penny sighed softly, it seemed that no matter what she said to Jasmine, the girl seemed to try and find a way to deny the simple truth of Penny's words. "You are stronger then you think, Jasmine." She said softly, reaching out to run her figners gently through Jasmine's hair, pulling it away from her face. She brushed away the streaks the tears had left on her face and any lingering tear drops.

"Yes, we are." Penny said softly, "I don't... my family isn't that big, Jasmine. Just four people. You, Sasha, Ariel and Damien." She said, sighing. And Ariel wasn't speaking with her. Ariel had a right to dispise her, Penny knew. "And I know that you are strong, I know that you are brave, and I know you can do this. Trust me, beieve me." She tried to encourage Jasmine, to do her best. She'd have to find some way of bringing up the girls confidence...

"That might be, Ryujin... but we will take the lacrima. We need to get there as quickly as possible... even if it is a risk."

"Of course we are... we just have to wait until they're ready, Rajah." Ignatius said, almost hesitantly, sure that his words would set Rajah off.

Sasha looked over at Mayt and gave him a reassuring smile. She had to make it clear that she thought everything would be alright… that they could do this. Mayt was one of the first people in the guild that she had ever gone on a mission with, and she still had the carved fish he had given her. She carried it with her now, as a token of friendship, and she wished she could tell him just how thankful she was, for everything he had done for her back then. ”No… but that’s why we are here for. To help, and bring about peace to this island once more. Restore the balance of magic and whatever else that means.” She hoped she sounded confident… she hoped she sounded like she knew what she was doing. She knew that she had to present a good image- a strong image even if she didn’t feel particularly strong right then.

Her guild was counting on her. The other guilds too… perhaps even the world. She went from confident, to unsure in a matter of moments, but she couldn’t let any of that show. She had to be strong. And she could be strong. She would be strong, for her little Hope. Looking to Ariel, she waited a moment before she answered, intending to answer everyone that spoke, whether it was to her or not. ”Well, i suppose that depends on your view point… but… it is danger we walk into, but if we don’t, well… we need to stop what is happening here.”

She turned towards Ferrin once more as he begin to talk, giving them advice on what they should do. She listened, her expersion serious as she considered each option. They were all good options, and she weighed them all heavily, seeking the best option. She would leave this island with everyone alive and well- no one was dying on her watch. No one.

The first option was a good one, at least to her. Despite the fact that this was Fairy Tail’s island, there could be anything here, after a hundred years. Particularly with the dark energy around the island… Anything could be attracted here, and she was willing to go careful, if it meant everyone would leave alright. The thought of spliting up was not even an option, at least to Sasha. Not when one small group could end up fighting a few dragons by themselves. No… She was not going to lose anyone. As she went to respond, Hunter came up and sasha waited for him to speak.

”There is more than one.” Sasha said softly, her voice steady, as she gripped her staff in one hand, looking up, and meeting their gazes. ”Arguing amongst ourselves won’t do any good.” she said, surprised at the authority in her voice. Where had that come from? ”Splitting up is not a godo idea, if what you say is true.” she said to Zero/Zenoram. ”We do not have the S class mages to go around, nor, do I fear, we have the Dragon Slayers. I think sticking together is the better idea, at least for now. I’m not losing anyone, and if we don’t have a way to communicate and send help quickly, well… I’d rather stick together, even if it makes things a little harder to do. I want to keep everyone safe.” The thought that everything rested on her shoulders… She cast a glance at Patrick, but the young man was chuckling softly.

”You have to admit, you are a shady bastard.” he said to Ferrin, grinning. He didn’t seem to be worried… what did he know? Sasha tried not to let any of her worry or fear show- she knew that she couldn’t, not if they were going to win this thing. She had to be a good leader. Straightening to her full height once more, she shrugged her shoulders, her armor settling into place.

For once, it felt like it actually fit her. For once, she felt like she deserved the title of Ice Queen. For a brief moment, she wondered what her Edolas counterpart would think, seeing her now.

”the difference is, Phoenix’s come back” Penny replied, [i]”the only true death… is the Phoenix song.” she never wanted to remember that haunting beautiful death lament… not every again. She hoped to god she never died before her friends, before Damien and Sasha… because she knew she wasn’t strong, she’d choose the option to come back… and be a Phoenix Forever. And then who would kill her? There were no other Phoenix Slayers, that she knew off. Ariel, to her, did not count for that… and She’d never make Ariel have to make that choice. She couldn’t do it to her, or anyone else.

[j]”I did it because I loved him, and because I… didn’t want him to suffer. And I know that I would not want to live past those I love.”

As she continued to try and comfort Jasmine, ”its fine. I shouldn’t have tried to hide it from her… “ she replied to the dragon. What was she going to do with Jasmine? The girl was stronger then she realised, but convincing her was going to take a lot of effort. ”Jasmine… Jaz… You are strong, and courages. You are bright and kind-hearted. Look at everything you have done… everything that has happened to you and you are still going. If you don’t believe my words, believe that. You are still here. You have beat everything that came along, and you are still here. And if you ever need a hand, I’ll always be there. No matter what, okay? Because you are family.”

”I’m not exactly sure where the island is, or if we can reach it with the lacrima. The best i could do would be to use it to teleport to the boat- and even that might be a little risky. I’d have to assume who is on there… although if Jarvis is still on the boat, it would be easier.” she replied to the dragon, ignoring Rajah for the moment.

”Rajah… “ Ignatius said with a heavy sigh, ”Have some more food.”

@Lunarlord34

Penny

What could Penny say? The silence seemed to grow, and Penny knew she was going to face the wrath of a dragon. Dead or alive, that would not be a pleasant thing, she knew. There was nothing she could do, nothing she wanted to do. She deserved anything that the old dragon sent her way. And she’d face that with her head held high, knowing she had done the only thing possible of her. She’d face it, not crying, but strong. She could do that. For Solias. She drew a deep breath, preparing herself. Perhaps it was only the solace that he wouldn’t harm her in front of Jasmine that made her strong. Penny didn’t know, but she knew that she would always face her death head on.

It wasn’t like she couldn’t choose to come back, at least that first time…

It wasn’t like she couldn’t choose to come back, the first time. And that was when she knew she would, as long as those she loved were alive. Surprised at that revelation, she contemplated it a moment, before she let out a slow breath. Let Ryujin do his best. She as ready. And so it was that she was taken aback when Ryujin didn’t smite her where she stood. Instead of feeling comforted by his words, Penny felt anger.

He was in pain! He asked me for my help! There aren’t many, if any other, Phoenix Slayers around! And even if there were, he trusted me. He asked me… I couldn't deny him.. No matter how hard it hurt, how much she wished she hadn’t had to kill Solias, she knew that it had been the right choice. Even if it would torment her for the rest of her life. It was not selfish… I was the only one who could give him peace… he was suffering… and before she knew what was going on, she started to cry once more even as she fought against it.

Her emotions were fluctuating, she didn’t know what she was suppose to feel anymore. She felt like she had to defend Solias… that she had to defend his honour, It was perhaps a foolish thought, given that she had killed him. What perhaps disturbed her the most was that she had sought those few months of solitude to gain control of herself once more. The change in her magic… the way that it felt, the difference… the way it affected her… she had thought that she could at least control her emotions, even if she didn’t yet understand what had changed within her.

No… My flames were always lit… The wheel of time turns, and what was, is again. She knew those words, words that Solias had told her time and time again. A phoenix just continued to turn, throughout time. ... until it dies… a new age must always come…

Only a Phoenix slayer could kill a phoenix. Although, that wasn’t true, was it? A Phoenix could kill another Phoenix just as easily. Although, there weren’t any Phoenix’s around… at least, she thought Solias had been the last one. And now… Ariel might not be a full Phoenix, and neither was she, not yet anyway. I… I don’t know if I can handle it… . With everything, would it kill her? Would it destroy her?

And then Jasmine was hugging her, crying and clutching her shirt. Penny didn’t know what had happened, but at once she put her arms around the younger girl, holding her up, holding her close. She held her close, hugging her. She didn’t know what had upset the girl, but Penny would fight whatever it was. ”Shhh… shhh… its okay, Jaz… its okay, sweetie.” she murmured, absently reaching up to stroke her hair.

Jasmine’s words left her frozen for a few seconds, as she struggled to realise that, somehow, Jasmine knew what had gone on. Jasmine knew. She knew what she had done. And she was crying on her, hugging her like she was never going to let go. She… didn’t hate her? ”Jasmine… “ She said softly, pulling back to meet her gaze, ”You are not useless, you are not a nobody.” she said strongly, ”I won’t have you saying that about yourself, okay? You are strong. And you are selfless. You need to realise that, realise you are stronger than you think. And I’ll be there, to help when you need it.” she promised, hugging her once more.

Jasmine needed her… she could be strong, for her. And the guild needed them, right then. She could be strong, for them. Turning, she took in the two exceeds, frowning over them. She’d had enough of the little one and her angry demands. ”We’ll be leaving soon. I can fly, but if I give Jasmine a lift I won’t be much use on the island. I know that you can carry someone. Would you carry Jasmine, Ignatius?” She asked, ”Unless, of course, Rajah is capable of doing so… and willing.” let the angry little Rajah think of that what she would.

While she waited for a response, Penny said to Ryujin in her mind I would like to speak again… to learn more about my father. For now… I’ll return to pendant to Jasmine.
