@Majoras End Anything in particular you're thinking right now? I was considering my post, and realized there's been no post from you since last time I posted.
@hatakekuro

There were some cheers from various Dedennes as Aria took to the stage.

‘Pi-pi-pidove! Pidoooove!’
A diva of the southern forest! A Jigglypuuuuuuff! sounded the Pidove. ‘Pi-DOVE!’ And FIGHT!

With the match having begun, Aria immediately began singing! Hawlucha, wary of the balloon Pokémon’s signature ability, immediately darted towards her before leaping into the air to avoid the immediate front of the singing Pokémon! Aria attempted to track after the leaping fighter, but the wrestling Pokémon was just too fast! He descended upon one of the four poles holding up the ring, bending his knees, preparing for a leaping tackle on Aria and-

and the pole broke.

‘Haw-!?’ Hawlucha cried out in alarm as the not-exactly-stellarly-made pole beneath him collapsed, the net snapping a bit around him as he descended prematurely into the floor. The pole, too, had been made from scavenged material by the Pokémon themselves, it appeared. Hawlucha collapsed onto the floor, slamming into it not by his own choice as his balance was shot on account of his footing collapsing under him, and then Aria was free to put him to sleep with a sweet lullaby.

Pidove had to momentarily relocate, having been sitting on the net on a side connected to said pole. Momentary break in announcements. After that, Hawlucha had the ill fortune of being asleep for the full three turns that are possible, letting Aria Defense Curl, making her already round form even rounder, somehow.

How many times exactly will she Defense Curl?

As soon as he wakes up, Hawlucha’s definitely going to charge directly at her for a Karate Chop/Wing Attack!

What does Basil and Aria do?

Basil and Lupin started going through the abandoned rooms. A Sneasel, indeed, was pretty good at getting through the darker rooms and could investigate with relative impunity. What could be interpreted from the various things, various magazines and various items, is that they were definitely big on contests around here. Still, there wasn’t that much useful around here, but Sneasel still managed to find one or several things that could maybe be of use.

Basil obtained Red Scarf!
Basil obtained Blue Scarf!
Basil obtained Fighting Gem!
Basil obtained Rock Incense!
Basil obtained 2 Potions!
Basil obtained Pokéball!
Basil obtained TM57 Charge Beam!

As for Pokémon, there was a lot of the same that can be obtained across Route 11. There were Budew that had their plants take over various rooms and enjoyed their time, often having brought in water for no apparent reason, causing floodings. There were Pidoves flying about a bit of everywhere and Zigzagoons making nests here and there in the buildings where they probably weren’t meant to, and the scratch-marks from their fur was everywhere.

Then there were rats. … Small, part-fairy part-electric rats.

Pokédex Entry #702 – Dedenne, the Antenna Pokémon. Through its tail it can connect to power outlets and other sources of electricity to absorb. The whiskers serve as antennas, which Dedenne can use to communicate with others of its kind over vast distances.

Mostly running out of sight and laying low before they could run off to Redcoast City to poach some electricity. Still, they gathered and looked kind of curiously at the strangers walking about on the compound.

Then, they entered a specific room…

Basil and Lupin entered a room, which had a mock ring built in the middle. There was human training equipment spread across the modestly large room. There was posters haphazardly attached to the walls, all depicting strong humans and Pokémon that had competed in boxing, wrestling, or battling. Everything looked modestly haphazard, the posters were attached by debris being rammed into the walls holding them in place rather than more elegant solutions. The battle “ring” in the middle consisted of a mix of scavenged rope and vegetation from the forest.

That… was when a Pidove jumped up onto the side of the net, and a spotlight lit down on it.

‘Pi! Pi-pidove! Pi, pipidove! Pidove!’ it made little noises, like if it was holding a speech. If one looked up, one could see that the “spotlight” was a flashlight held by a Dedenne sitting on an unlit ceiling lamp. A small crowd of Dedennes cheered from various hiding places in the room. ‘Pi, pipi! Pido, pidove, pidopi-DOVE!’ the bird called, and waved a wing towards a door on the other side.

Welcome, everyone, to today’s competition! called the bird, translated because Lupin could understand it. One one side, our reigning champion! He’s the magnificent, the brilliant, the amazing HIM!

Dedenne pointed the flashlight onto the door on the opposite side of the room. It swung open, and on the other side stood something in a cape. Said cape blew, because the entity was standing on the railing of a balcony with wind blowing past, it’s arms crossed and back turned towards the battle. Then, it jumped backwards! It made a backwards somersault, twice, before spinning in midair, skipping on the net of the ring once, feathers flying all over the place, as the dramatic Pokémon that looked like it was wearing a mask landed in the midst of the ring in a battle stance. It turned towards Basil, looking ready to fight.

‘Hawlucha…!’ it called in challenge. The Dedennes cheered.

Pokédex Entry #701 – Hawlucha, the Wrestling Pokémon. Although its body is small, its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama. With its wings, it controls its position in the air. It likes to attack from above, a maneuver that is difficult to defend against.

‘Pipipi, pidove…!’ the bird called, and the flashlight was turned to an empty section of the ring in front of the Hawlucha

And his challenger is…! sounded the Pidove’s translated announcement, and the eyes of every Dedenne in the room turned to Basil.

What would Basil and/or Lupin do now?

@Joshua Tamashii

‘Palpa…!’ the Palpitoad blinked at Amelia about the idea that he might be washing away the Water Stone. He promptly stopped washing water everywhere, but regardless glared at the three trainers and called out at them. ‘Palpitoad!’

‘Wait, why must WE present our cases? If all three of us were occupied, why can’t mean that you weren’t-’ the Bug Catcher randomly started asking Amelia.

‘She wasn’t even on Route 2 at the time, blockhead,’ the Lass said, sighing a bit, and the Bug Catcher halted his accusation. ‘Okay, if we have to start somewhere, why don’t the one who found it missing start?’ she continued, looking towards the Backpacker.

‘Uuuuuh… I mean, if I must…’ the Backpacker said, looking somewhat worried for whatever reason.

Palpitoad looks at the inquizically... but encounters the problem that he's unable to question the witnesses himself. As all three of them are the suspects, the only one around he could turn to was Amelia. ‘Palpitoad!’ he tells to her, skips over, and gives her a small yellow stone.

Attorney's Badge was submitted to evidence.

So, time to hold the trial.

Leila submits her Pokémon, a Barboach, as evidence. She also submits her belongings.

Annica submits her Pokémon, a Murkrow and a Fletchling, as evidence. She also submits her belongings.

Eric submits his Pokémon, a Surskit and a Ledyba, as evidence. He also submits his belongings.

… And now it was time for Amelia to cross-examine. Want to Press any of them for additional information on any point? Present evidence as to that they might be lying? If so, go ahead!

Or she could leave. That, too. If so, here.

‘Eh… We’re… not exactly friends, I just happen to know who he is…’ Vivia said, and eventually decided to hang along with Skylar on the way. Still would have been cool to perhaps talk with Dawkin about what had been going on, but he was heading off somewhere so maybe not.

Skylar went to the Pokémart, that despite the kinda desert setting looked exactly the same.

Go-Goggles was 1,200P. 10 Great Balls is 6,000P. Minus 7,200P.

Then, they headed off to the Stone Store, a rather big and crowded enough place. It was one of those things that brought outsiders to Raremine Town, after all. The walls were yellow, like they wanted to inspire gold and riches, combined with red carpets and rocks hanging around on pedestals where people could inspect and decide if they wanted to buy them or not. Anyways, here’s the available stuff.

Nature was indeed starting to reclaim what had been lost, as multiple Pokémon on the route had started nesting inside the area of the abandoned buildings, a couple Blitzles running away as he came close. There was a bunch of Zigzagoons as well, their heads popping up here and there. Still, Basil ignored those and went up to the tallest building that he could find. It wasn’t hard, and he found most doors to be open. Assuming he was fine with climbing an abandoned, unlit staircase he eventually found his way to the roof, able to gaze across the area, see across the buildings, and…

There. On the south side of the route, barely touching the edge of Silent Forest (not where he came out, of course), was something that definitely stood out as out of place.

If he went there…

And if he didn’t want to do that, what would he do next?

A bright, glowing flash originating from Dawkin’s encouragement enveloped the little yellow critter, and…!

Pichu evolved into Pikachu!

Pokédex Entry #25 – Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. It stores electricity in sacks inside its cheeks, which it unleashes if threatened. They live in forests, and use their electricity to roast berries. It monitors its surroundings by raising it tail and sensing electricity. If multiple Pikachu gather up, their power increases.

Pikachu learned Growl!
Pikachu learned Play Nice!
Pikachu learned Quick Attack!
Pikachu learned Electro Ball!

Because missing out on moves because you weren’t a Pikachu at that level makes no sense.

New Pokémon evolved! Dawkin earned 1500 P!

And that was that. Afterwards, some of the remaining audience congratulated him on his victory as well as Pikachu on his evolution, and asked if he was alright. Assuming everything was fine, Dawkin then took this weird vial he’d found and brought it to the Pokémon lab.

He found Dunstan sitting at his table, examining a couple samples. He blinked a bit as Dawkin showed up into this decently dark lab lit only by the green samples around here.

‘You’re back sooner than I expected. What are you…’ Dunstan started, then his eyes went to the vial, containing something that looked blue compared to the green all around Dunstan’s lab.

This was the first time Dawkin saw Dunstan with wide-open eyes.

Then it was like the professor had used the Pokémon move Snatch, because all of a sudden Dawkin wasn’t holding the vial anymore. Dunstan spilled some of the contents of the vial on a tiny glass platter, put it under a microscope, and peeked down at it.

‘These… are cells,’ Dunstan said. ‘Pokémon cells. But… that’s…’ He then grabbed a different machine and directed it at the sample, frowning as he was getting data to his computer, which was saying things that Dawkin couldn’t possibly interpret.

‘These should be long dead. They’re far too old to have survived on their own. They’re from a multitude of different Pokémon, yet the ones in the middle…’ he said and then looked over into the telescope once again.

‘… Are shimmering in varying colours, and as I look at them, it feels like I’m-’ Dunstan suddenly tore himself from the microscope. He lifted his glasses, placed them back in front of his eyes, then lifted them again. He blinked a couple of times.

‘… The cells are keeping the other cells alive. Healing cells. Cells of the life-giving Pokémon…’ he said, breathing out heavily as he lifted up the vial of blue once again, staring at it. Eventually, having taken his samples, he hands the vial back to Dawkin.

‘Where did you get this?’ he asked, utterly serious.

If he feels like it afterwards, Dawkin can head off to do other things.

Void Room - Infiltration Team

When Alicia gave her reply, “not until you let them go”, Mariette sighed slightly inside her room, unheard by the infiltration team but noticed by anyone still in Mariette’s office.

‘That is no longer within my power to do,’ she gave as a short reply, and then continued with her introduction of the Void Room.

Alicia flew into the air, barraging downwards at the foes available to her. However, as she rose into the air she found herself beset by limbs stretching for her from above as well as below, seeking to catch and crunch her between the two swarms. It became the same for Amalthea flying with Anaya, as they found tentacles coming out of the ceiling predicting their next location to grab them as they flew.

When Tenebra and Sonia opened a portal to slightly outside the Void Room that materialized in the wall, the tentacles seemed to realize what that was instantly. As soon as the gateway opened, an eruption of hands and tentacles shot out of portals in the wall around the portal to prevent the escape of the individuals involved, closing around the portal and thickening to keep them out. Meanwhile, sharp, pointy, hardened tentacles launched out of the floor from varying angles trying to skewer Tenebra and Sonia, having realized that they had the means to take their offering away from them. But, assumingly the group supplied teleportation or enough firepower to break through to the portal on the wall. Still, a stream of tentacles emerged from trying to stab and grab and injure any trying to escape their grasp.

As Morgan’s ice prevented tentacles from sneaking around Ronin’s barrier, a heavy, larger tentacle suddenly slammed out of the floor and shattered Ronin’s barrier from below, dropping anyone on top of it and making the girl yelp and had to create a bar above herself to grab to prevent herself from falling into the wide portal that had formed right underneath. However, assumingly something happened to rescue those who’d fall as they were then brought along with the rest to safety.

Numerous other tentacles and hands reached and attempted to grip the various spirits Anaya had around… though, spirits being somewhat incorporeal made that a challenge. Regardless, Elaine would find that there wasn’t much of a reply to her yell, and while she and Blake cut numerous tentacles, there were always more sliding out to snap around limbs or tried to grip their weapons.

Otherwise Ari’s post covers the events here decently accurately.

Basement Corridor - Infiltration Team

They got out, ending up in a dark corridor, nobody walking through these corridors meant they didn’t have to be well-lit. They probably had to close that portal immediately, or they’d find the tentacles would reach in behind them to grab them.

So, they entered the tiny 90 degree turn in Mariette’s basement…

and sudden hail of weak Light-element magical bullets immediately came flying at them, battering harshly into whatever defenses had been placed in the way.

Turns out this particular corridor had tiny energy-guns operated into the walls set to turn and fire at any key-less individual noticed within the area, one at every intersection and corner. They were operated into the walls at floor and ceiling level to immediately shoot down Sonia should she dare to appear within these corridors, and now they fired on them. This included one right behind them at short range, because Mariette didn’t know where their enemies would show up. To avoid most the shots, get out-of-sight of the long corridor and deal with the two sentries in the tiny south-going corridor.

‘Woa-!’ Ronin immediately raised her tiny barrier to block what shots she could, but she doesn’t have the Mag-stat to block all of this, somebody help her. What she could do, is spin and slice with her sword to take out the sentry in the corner, stabbing into the bullet-hole to ruin the mechanics. ‘Splitting up is dangerous, Mariette has portals and can ambush any team she figures she can beat, hah,’ Ronin reminds, but perhaps it’s for the best. Otherwise, she’s fine with whatever split she’s asked to do.

So, Ronin had a key. She’d sort of figured maybe she’d be safe from traps. But seeing how these turrets were firing at her, guess it was deactivated already. Should have figured. Hahaha…

2nd Floor - Mariette’s Office

Mariette nodded to Su, Trixy and Eliza departing, keeping some portals in corners watching over them so that she wouldn’t lose them somehow.

Mariette listened to Dina summoning her kobolds and faeries, and a couple minotaurs… ‘Esther,’ Mariette said into her communicator. ‘Create small tunnels in the walls for our kobolds and fairies to transport themselves through the mansion.’

There was some noise as the mansion itself readjusted itself. Wood moved, some corridors and rooms got the slightest smaller, as tiny corridors with openings were created for the kobolds to run through and create traps inside of. Esther made the openings slide open a bit by Mariette’s office, so they could enter them and explore from there.

‘We need all the allies we can get. Josefin, get over here and provide Dina with some excess mana,’ Mariette said, and…

‘Will do! I’m here!’ Josefin said, skipping out of a portal to Dina, holding out a hand for her. ‘A fresh dose of mana, coming right up!’ she said, and if let to touch Dina she’d feel a surge of mana from a different girl flow into her, allowing her to do that extra summon if so required. While she was here, Josefin also put a hand on Mariette and recharged some of what had been used in the battle so far, and then Josefin skipped away back to the firing line.

Mariette was still fighting as she listened to Silhouette’s words, nodding to her. ‘Thank you. That makes me feel safer. Still, you’re not alone,’ Mariette said, and took a brief moment to lift something up on her deck. It was Bunny, the stuffed animal, except he was coloured all black. ‘Bunny has put on his war-colours. He will protect me, too. I’m safe as long as he’s here,’ Mariette said, lifting Bunny up and squeezing him against her chest. Because this would definitely make a difference.

That aside. Mariette was getting a bit concerned with the outdoors. Su was whipping up a storm on the outside, which was making her concerned that their enemies might somehow make as short a work of her as they were making of Mariette’s monsters.

She wouldn’t let it happen.

@FamishedPants@AtomicNut

2nd Floor - Overlooking Foyer

‘Waaaaaaaaa~!’ Mayra made a happy noise as she got herself shocked, but otherwise just laughed about it and kept on what she was doing. So, when Lily said it was alright, Mayra just grinned, and then momentarily clapped a dragonic hand on her shoulder. ‘You’re alright! We should fight later!’

‘Hm,’ Suzette nodded to them, but still kept ready…

Meanwhile, Eliza said her piece to the communicator, and it replied.

‘Copy that. Start a sentence with “everyone”, and I’ll patch you through to everyone. Speaking of which,’ information girl said, and then spoke to everyone.

@Ariamis@Majoras End

Allies of Mariette - Everyone

The communicator spoke up for everyone.

‘Everyone. A powerful team of twelve Magical Girls led by Alicia has appeared in our basement. The team includes Sonia, making them able to teleport,’ everyone’s communicators told them. ‘Be advised that if they take the stairs up, they’ll arrive in the foyer. Some of them are disguised as Mariette and Eli currently, their forms may change.’

‘One of them is probably Leena,’ Mariette followed up, also through communicator. It didn’t make sense for them to attack known magical menace Mariette without bringing their anti-magic girl. That probably made another FanFan, they were rarely apart, but FanFan wasn’t a fraction as important. ‘Be aware that she can manifest a field within which magic doesn’t work. Be careful.’

Besides that, this all wasn’t having at all as much impact as Mariette wanted. There was also the threat of opening more portals just let Justine attack more of her girls. It was time for a change in strategy.

@Ariamis@Majoras End@FamishedPants@AtomicNut@BrokenPromise@Card Captor

3rd Floor - Artillery Line

‘Th-thank you,’ Alexander got as a confused reply from one of the girls he saved as she was helped up to her feet. She wasted no time getting back into the firing line. He then proceeded to put forcefields on people, which helped Mariette come to her next decision.

Ronja, ever the arachne, stood with protective barriers while using two unoccupied legs to shoot a spider-web to reign in one of the wounded girls, healed her, and then undid the web to kick her back into line. Eli also helped with the healing, because that’s what she does, and now for the plan.

Two portals opened, one linking the 2nd floor top of the foyer where Eliza and Lily was directly to the 3rd floor Artillery Line.

From the other one…

Three girls excited from a snow-covered Monster Room, because the Infiltration Team had showed up in the corridor right outside and they needed to move, Lea and Tullia still holding the Bifrost Staff that was causing the blizzard outside. Tullia looked a bit strained, having maintained a massive blizzard with her mana, while Lea didn’t look particularly worse for wear. Then there was just Victoria grinning and giving everyone a wave.

‘We’re dropping the blizzard! Everyone who can, get to the Artillery Line and prepare to fire out the windows! You can return to the foyer with my portals after! Movement is our advantage!’ Mariette called, and Suzette and Mayra didn’t have to be told twice. Suzette jumped on what appeared to be a yellow board of magic and swooped through the portal to the Artillery Line, while Mayra grinned, already summoning a fireball as she dashed in through the same portal up to the windows that were lining up the Artillery Line-side.

‘Tullia! Now!’ Mariette called.

@Ariamis@Majoras End@FamishedPants@AtomicNut@Card Captor

Outside - Assault Team

‘What are you talking about!? These are the best of circumstances! I’m so happy we get to fight again!’ the Victoria clone replied to Aurelio with a laugh before being shot by a lucky shot by Sally despite having tried to jump back into the snow before being attacked. But still, the rest of the Victorias shared her sentiment.

So, through conflict that has already been described in Ari’s post, the assault team otherwise fought their way through wolves, Victoria clones and also the sudden appearance of the massive Remorhaz, decently without particularly great problems and just a couple of casualties, probably the majority coming from Justine sacrificing girls to trigger traps, honestly. There were still fiery and psychic traps waiting around in the snow, for those unwary and stepping into unknown snow.

As they thought they were arriving at the front door, however, Su summoned the tornado Feilian and blocked the way, crossing forward at their numbers. However, whatever their reactions, they’d suddenly find that the massive blizzard was dying down, vision improving…

Among the 32 remaining kidnapped girls Mariette had, 21 had ranged capabilities. Of them, 8 were magic focused, 8 held ranged weapons, and the remaining 5 were balanced girls that supplemented physical ability with ranged magic. Of the 11 remaining girls not among those, there were 7 physically powerful girls incapable of range, two support girls with Reinforcement, one magically powerful Dark magic assassin that was currently useless, and a magically powerful Beast girl who probably just held back a couple of wolves for now.

The vast majority of the ranged girls were now pointing their guns, bows, magic staffs and charged spells at the enemy force that was probably somewhat scattered by Feilian, and at decently close range because they’d been fighting to get to the mansion.

‘Fire.’

A volley of lightning, fire, metal, ice and light came shooting at the assault team, in addition to some sound-blasts, some psychic shots and one girl with an empathic spec. Joining them was arrows and bullets, even Eli joining in having turned her arms into rifles to shoot at the incoming enemy.

Having dropped the blizzard, while gasping for breath a bit the resident Ice Beam shooter Tullia pointed forth her Bifrost Staff to join in, firing a blast of ice straight for Hyun Long. Suzette had recently joined the line, so with a little chuckle she revelled in the feelings of tension before blasting a ray of power directly for Sakura’s captured Remorhaz, that by the way should be burning her pretty badly due to the monster’s extremely high skin-temperature. Mayra’s going to throw her fireballs at whatever’s closest, albeit she’d be told that the Remorhaz is immune to fire so perhaps not that one.

While all that firepower was going, Mariette simply had to rely on Alex, Hilaria and Ronja to minimize the enemy firepower striking them in return.

Meanwhile, inside.

‘Lea, prepare to help save Su and Helga should things go wrong,’ Mariette asked the elfin monster girl, just as Josefin had skipped to them to recharge her and Tullia’s mana a bit by grabbing their arms, after they’d used a significant portion making a blizzard.

‘I remind that my survival is more important than-’ Lea started saying, but Mariette interrupted her with a very simple…

‘Please,’ Mariette asked, before opening a portal to the roof again, a place easier for Lea to reach Su and Helga from without taking fire. Lea gave Mariette an analytical stare, before simply complying by flying out through the portal and then kept a specific distance from the tornado below.

@Ariamis@Majoras End@FamishedPants@AtomicNut@Card Captor@BrokenPromise@Shifter_Master

2nd Floor - Taihei’s Room

… Why, of course someone saw her tiny, spherical bomb travelling through a howling blizzard made to hamper sight and managed to easily intercept it with a single throwaway lightning bolt. That makes perfect sense.

Assuming you’re Taihei, anyway.

Regardless, seemed like the time had come to simply throw projectiles at the enemy. Taihei would do her part. So, she used her gravity speciality to attract to herself some weapons she’d made specifically for that particular specialization. They were large, heavy lances, long and far too heavy to simply cast aside once thrown. They were basically artillery, and would provide more firepower than most the girls in the Artillery Line.

‘They’re just hunks of magically heavy metal. How could I be unlucky with these?’ she asked, obviously rhetorically on account she knew all kinds of things could go wrong. Regardless, she summoned her gravity magic, held up a monstrous hand forward, and sent a couple giant metal lances flying at the assault forces, targeting the largest masses. Just some giant flying metal lances to thin out the numbers a bit. The storm shouldn’t prevent their flight excessively.

[same as above]

???

Inside a small room with a bunch of screens, a girl was sitting clicking buttons to make cameras display across the mansion. A view showed her that the infiltration team had just entered the basement corridor and were currently being subjected to the sentries she’d had installed there. Wonder if they enjoyed the little taste? That was tech from a different world, more technologically advanced than this one, that she’d been bringing over with her Supplier perk. Very much fun for them to experience, her little automatic turrets. They were, of course, only the first thing they’d have to deal with.

On a different screen, though, she’d been receiving a warning. The phone she’d made for Mariette was saying it was being tracked. She’d taken the time to pinpoint where exactly it was being tracked from, because it could be that it was the technology girl they knew Beacon had, Elora… but unless the relations between the monsters and Beacon were much closer than previously thought, the source being within the Sanctuary seemed to strike contrary to such a claim. Still, the new monster queen had Beacon ties. Best block it to be safe. She absently clicked a couple buttons, and…

@Shifter_Master Penny’d find that her system’s could suddenly no longer find Mariette’s phone.

… She was absently listening in on the conversations of the Infiltration Team…

Oh? Were they splitting up? Sounded like fun. She flexed her fingers a bit and brought up the list of traps she could trigger from this room.

Where would they go? What traps would she trigger on them?

Time would tell.

2nd Floor - Mariette’s Office

All in all… it was looking worse than she’d hoped. She hadn’t imagined Beacon would show up, too. That team in the basement was uncomfortably powerful. There seemed like little would stop the assaulting group ahead of them.

Guess there was little choice. She’d hoped to avoid calling her, but if she was going to call her anyway, it made sense to do it as early as possible. Besides glancing with a bit of unsurety at those still in her office, she opened a small portal in front of her mouth to speak.

‘This is Mariette. It seems I’ll need your help, after all. Be ready, I’ll open the path.’

A slight shiver went through her as she focused her power through the Black Mirror, which was located somewhere completely different in the mansion, in order to summon a specific entity…

[anyone left in the office]
@hatakekuro

‘It should be pretty evident. Still, what you’re looking for is not on Route 11, but you won’t find it without first finding what you need, there,’ Lorette added. She smiled to what else Basil had to say, nodding a little excitedly. ‘Great. I look forward to your return~’

With that, Basil could wave his goodbyes, Lorette and the whole crowd of Ralts also waving back to him, and then he headed off north.

There was still a decently long trek to get where he wanted, the Deepforest Shrine was at the center, after all, but the Northern Silent Forest is by no means a dangerous forest. While perhaps witnessing a variety of Flabébé, Snubbull, Bellsprouts and Shroomish enjoying the rainy forest, he headed northwards…

Anything more he wanted to do here? If so, here’s Northern Silent Forest.

Connected areas:
Route 3. To the east.
Route 11. If you head directly north for a while.
Silent Shrine. Go south, you should be able to find the road there.

Still, if he walked for long enough, his unopposed wandering would eventually bring him out on a new route. The sky broke up so the sun may gaze through the clouds, shining upon the road and farmland below…

So, what would Basil do from here?
@hatakekuro

‘Oho,’ Lorette made an interested noise with a little smirk as Basil recounted his reasons for arriving here, investigating. When he then asked if it was like something had actually heard him, if she ever got the impression something was listening to her... she gave a gentle little sigh. ‘Only the first time,’ she answered. ‘Maybe I should have prayed for something a bit more ambitious than just becoming a fine Gym Leader, heh,’ she followed up with along with a little giggle.

‘You know? These things are supposed to be secret, but I'm feeling generous,’ she gave him a little smirk, and then put her hands together and leaned forward a bit. ‘Help me out a bit, will you? I need someone to find and examine the lost shrine for me. Could you do that? Examine it, and bring what you find there back to me here. I suggest you start by looking into Route 11. After finding what you need here, and remembering what I referred to this shrine as, the next part shouldn't be terribly difficult,’ she said, the Raltses around her looking at her curiously.

‘Would you do that for me?’ she asked, smiling sweetly at him, and the various Raltses turned to look at him as well.
@hatakekuro

‘Tihi. Don't worry about it,’ Lorette said, sounding a bit amused about his little panic. ‘This here is the Deepforest Shrine, also known as the Shrine of the Center, visited regularly only by Pokémon these days... and by me,’ she said, gesturing behind herself at the shrine, and also at the little Raltses that were cowering around her.

‘It's been taken care of by the Ralts since humans left it. I enjoy it here, it's just me and the fairies,’ she said, kicking just a bit with her legs. ‘Of course, eventually trainers show up to pick me up since I spend too much time here. I thought you were another of those, sorry about that. Did you come into this rainy forest for any particular reason?’ Lorette asked, tilting her head a bit as she looked at him.
The Basement - Monster Room

Tullia and Lea were focusing their firepower, while Victoria was guarding them in case enemies appeared. She created a sphere of ice around them, and had a couple duplicates left in reserve in case their teleporting foes could transport themselves inside. They knew the blizzard would eventually not be needed anymore, and then the three of them were to be portalled around to reinforce wherever they were needed. For now, in order to keep the blizzard going, a portal was letting Tullia and Lea gaze outwards from Tullia’s room, on an angle so that Justine was not in their direct vision. That would do for now.

3rd Floor - Artillery Line

The Artillery Line was a long row of Magical Girls that Mariette had kidnapped tamed over a long actually decently short career, and they were focused and determined to help protect this mansion. They were charging spells and drawing arrows or loading bullets, and once in a while a portal opened and they fired through, actually perhaps several shot through the same angled portal for extra efficiency. When the time came, they would fire through the windows ahead of them as well, and multiple close combat ready girls stood in case the enemy teleported in to assault their firing line or otherwise jumped or flew in through the windows…

One girl lay wounded, a javelin having been thrown through to impale her through her chest. Over her stood two individuals, a spider-girl and an otherwise cheerful looking girl that stood out among the rest. The spider had bound reinforced web over the girl’s wounds, and it seemed the girl’s life had been saved.

‘Mariette. I saved her life, but she can’t fight. Take her away,’ the spider said, before walking away towards the firing line again.

‘Hear that? You’ll be just fine! You live to fight another day! Lucky you! I'll take your magic and pass it on, so you'll still help us in spirit!’ the lucky girl said, using her magic to drain the fallen girl's mana as a yellow cloud of dust before Mariette opened a portal to take the wounded girl somewhere to rest.

So, Alexander came running in. The first thing that greeted him was a dark slimy harpy, turning to look at him, and anyone that may have accompanied him. like Hilaria, if she accompanied him

‘Oh. Welcome to the Artillery Line. Er. Alexander,( Hilaria, if she’s there) the enemy might fire at us, do you think you could shield us if they do? And then, if they decide to assault us directly, we’ll really need some of your combat prowess…’ Eli said, nodding.

‘Ronja’s already here, but we could certainly use more defense, as well as offense,’ Eli said with a little awkward smile, gesturing to how the spider girl, Ronja now placed herself at the windows prepared to fend off enemy ranged attacks if so needed.

‘And I, Josefin, am ready to punish enemy magical ranged attacks by draining their mana, too! And of course, help us all with my luck if they try to assault us up close~!’ Josefin said, skipping over to take a similar position.

That was the situation here, right now.

2nd Floor - Overlooking Foyer

In the second floor foyer, there were numerous Magical Girls gathered, prepared for the instance should their enemies come inside through the front gate. It was a prepared battlezone, with many close combat fighters and ranged individuals prepared to assist. Nobody was on the first floor, because a trap was set to spring on anyone on the first floor foyer. There were two leaders here, prepared to do some damage.

‘Steady. Be prepared for anything. When the enemy gets through, we will bathe the lower floor with our firepower,’ Suzette said, clearly acting commander on this level. She blinked towards Lily as she came in, and smirked. ‘Welcome, reinforcements. We’re just waiting around for now, but we’re prepared in case we’re needed anywhere in the mansion. Sonia can show up anywhere. I’m Suzette, and I lead the common magical girls around here. How’d you do?’

And that’s when someone who spontaneously appeared behind Lily (because she was hidden with Darkness magic) suddenly struck her paws together on Lily’s midriff and fiercely tried to tickle her with dragon talons.

‘Hellooooo~!’ the monster girl called excitedly while doing it, and certainly didn’t mind if she got shocked by electricity or slapped by a weapon or something for doing so.

‘Mayra, don’t bully our reinforcements,’ Suzette asked, though with an amused tone that sounded like she didn’t mind.

‘But I gotta do something! The fight’s almost here, and I’m getting so… ANTSY!’ Mayra called, skipping away from Lily a bit and summoning fire as she talked, finally ending the call by shooting a big fireball across the room. Mariette, who still saw everything due to the portal Lily came through from the office still being open, casually opened a portal and redirected the fireball at the Red Nest, because why not.

‘Make yourselves ready, you won’t have to wait for long~’ was Suzette’s only end on that.

In the stairway over there, sat a single lamia-girl, looking antsy but not expressing it in the same way Mayra was…

2/3rd Floor - Sitting in the Stairs

Freya sat in the stairway overlooking the 2nd floor foyer, and also so that she could slide up and look over the Artillery Line from a distance. Wherever she was needed, the fastest and most powerful close combat combatant on Mariette’s team could get wherever she needed exceedingly quickly. It did, however, mean she had nothing to do until the enemy reached their lines. She sat down in the stairs, sighing a bit, staring at where Lily and Suzette and Mayra were now talking.

‘Aurelio is among our enemies,’ said the little communicator suddenly buzzed to her. Freya twitched a little, frowning the slightest more.

‘Am I supposed to say something about that?’ she asked, after a small, irritated pause.

The communicator did not respond.

2nd Floor - Taihei’s Room

Taihei stood alone in her room. Her exceedingly reinforced room with super-sturdy metals within every wall just in case something blew up inside it. The room was placed to be facing outwards from the front. She had an open window, looking directly out over the battle.

Her objectives were two. One, she’d use her powerful Gravity specialization to fend off any ranged attacks targeting the Artillery Line above her. Secondly…

She lifted a hand, holding an fiery explosive artifact. Her Gravity specialist power grabbed it and blasted it out at high speed towards the rabble of magical girls distracted by the Remorhaz that had appeared in their midst. The artifact was fiery because then it would not harm the Remorhaz. It flew like an arrow and burst into a great fireball as it approached Justine’s forces.

She was held in this super-reinforced room to ensure her bad luck only affected herself, the only one that could survive her own bad luck, while still contributing to the battle. If she had to leave, she had the means to, and Mariette was ready to portal her. But on her own, Taihei was perhaps still the most formidable solo force in Mariette’s army.

She wondered how her back luck would manifest today.
Today, I leave that to the GMs.
