Mako Akane

Mako was surprised when Dulga chucked Mamoru out of the window, and headed straight to the window nearest her whilst looking out at the rest of the class. She could see the pink haired girl in her peripheral vision, and saw that she was ok. By the time Dulga had thrown Jett out, Mako was starting to walk towards her, taking note at the same time that several of the other classmates were watching her, waiting for her to make one mistake.

Mako knew exactly what Dulga was doing, but she was applying what she'd learned and executing a good strategy, so Mako figure she'd reward that by playing into her hands and seeing what she'd do next. Mako was grinning, but it was no longer friendly, and her golden eyes were open and burning intensely. Not gonna lie, Mako felt a pang of challenge from Dulga when she threw her number one fan out of the window.

In response to Dulga's threat of 'you're next', Mako smiled an unnerving smile, as her muscled flexed in preparation, and her thigh and calf muscles could be briefly seen through her jeans.

"Try it, kids." she responded, her eyes darting around the room. She really stressed the plural when she said that. She knew that more than one student was about to try and hit her.

Maeda Hitomi

Hitomi listened to Fumika's mutterings, and then watched her disappear into some sort of trance. She didn't try to snap her out of it. She was patient. The sheep girl waited, and watched. And as she watched, she noticed the change in Fumika, almost like she was shivering, and her face was one of...not quite sadness. But the discomfort of pain. Hitomi still didn't try to snap her out of the trance. She didn't know this girl's quirk, and what the consequences of that action would be.

When she came back, and apologized for thinking to much, Hitomi beamed in a friendly manner and giggled. "It's quite alright, really! Though I wonder wh-"

Before Hitomi could finish, Fumika had noticed that nobody had stood up, and and gone to introduce herself to the class. Her quirk seemed very interesting! Though Hitomi now started to make connections in her head. Was the reason for her trance because she has a photographic memory so vast that she can get lost in it? Or did she just get lost inside her own thoughts sometimes independent of her quirk?

After Fumika finished, Hitomi stood up, and went to the front of the class. "Hello! My name's Maeda Hitomi. I'm a second year support student who took this class as an elective. It's very nice to meet you all!" Hitomi smiled sweetly and bowed, before continuing. "My quirk is simply that I have several properties in common with sheep and goats. I have sheep ears, goat horns, and my hair is wool-like and grown very quickly. My plans for the future are to design and make Hero costumes, though I don't know how my quirk can help me achieve that. That's...why I took this class."

With another bow, she sat back next to Fumika, and noticed the look on her face. Concerned, she leaned in closer. "Fumika, what's wrong? Do you want to talk about it?"

When all the sheets were in, and Mako had read them, she stood up. "Very good work, class! I won't read these out, or mark them, or give you very detailed feedback. i'll just give you all a few comments.

Dulga Tatara, there may eventually come a time when you can't just shoot the problem away. This class will be good for you to learn what to do when that happens.

Yoshida Kenichi, very, very good answers from you! Make sure you pay attention in the 'understanding villains' part, though, because it does matter what they're thinking and why they're doing what they're doing, and knowing that might even give you an edge one day.

Akasha Mamoru, Backup is a valid option, but this class will be teaching you how to handle villains yourself, so pay attention.

Kaida Baeumont, very good answers. Can't really go into more detail there, on your insistence. Kusayanagi Roy, also good answers. Almost boringly so. That's a compliment.

Yashiro Takeshi, that's a very interesting way of interpreting the first question. You have a good analyitcal mind.

Jett Haven, I should have known that this exercise would be pointless to you. There won't even be many real life fights where teleportation wouldn't win the day. Still, this class might still teach you something useful.

Kishimoto Tomoe, Same with you. Your quirk will help you a lot in villain situations. However, you left the last question blank. That in itself is an answer. If that were to happen, you'd go blank. You'd freeze. And making no choice is often worse than making a wrong choice. Keep that in mind and try to work on your decision making.

Jasekade Erza, you are, as I've already told you, a rough diamond. It's a shame this class is teaching you about villains, not about civilians. Hurting them or putting them in danger should always be the absolute last resort.

Speaking of last resorts, Ayato Kamina, taking the life of a villain should only be undertaken when capturing them is either impossible or inappropriate. If Heroes went around killing Villains who should be tried for the crimes in a court of law, I wouldn't be standing here teaching these things to you. We have a justice system in this country. It's not our job to replace it, only to serve it."

At that point, another student entered the class, and profusely apologized.

"No need to worry, Yozakura Yukari. I don't mark students as tardy if they've been in the nurse's office. And yes, there is a worksheet to fill out. How do you feel?"

As she asked this, she noticed Kenichi talking to the new girl. That was sweet. He might hate his teacher, but he liked his fellow classmates enough.

"So," she spoke clearly in a loud voice. "I know know your starting points. By the end of these twelve weeks, you would give different answers to those questions, I guarantee it. Now, on with the lesson; fighting villains."

Mako suddenly grinned a devilish grin.

"Who here thinks they could hit me?"

Dulga was the first to finish her worksheet, though she gave Mako a glare that suggested Mako had done something specifically to annoy her. Mina was genuinely clueless as to what this was. Dulga was fine before the sheets were handed out Maybe it was something on the sheet. She thought back to processing Dulga's paperwork, and froze. God, she was so stupid! She'd have to apologise to her in person later! She read through the sheet anyway, which was quite an amusing read. It seemed this student was of a mind that there was no problem that shooting things couldn't fix. This girl would get along great with Adriane.

Next was Kenichi, and she'd noticed that the moment she'd outed herself as a villain, he'd changed drastically. He wouldn't look at her, and he was seething with rage at all times. She might have to talk with him one on one. She wanted nothing to affect his ability to learn in her class. His sheet was measured and well thought out, with very good answers! Though he was a tad judgemental, and might struggle with the 'understanding villains' part of the class.

The third person to finish was miss meme, with her feet on the desk. Obviously liked to feel badass when alone. Her answers were interesting. She often gave two answers, the top one being nicer than the bottom one. She also relied heavily on getting backup, which was still a perfectly valid tactic. Even so, it suggested that this student might have esteem issues.

"Good sheets so far, class," she spoke to all the students in front of her, even then ones who were still working.

Maeda Hitomi

Hitomi shook the hand of the Fumika clone. This girl was certainly odd, but there was an adorable fragility to her that just wanted to make Hitomi hug her, wrap her up and protect her from the confusing world. She was muttering a lot, and her topics were things that Hitomi had often wandered herself. If she was a sheep girl, why did she had ram's horns? Then again, her father was a goat man and her mother was a sheep woman. Maybe she got the horns from her goat side. Thinking about her parents saddened her briefly, so she forced her mind away from the subject.

"It's nice to meet you too!" she gushed, noting as she did so that the clone had vanished. It wasn't organic, then, just a recording. Fumika then sadly exclaimed that her friend wasn't coming, but said that she shoukld be the 'main character' in his stead. "Awe, I'm sorry your friend isn't in this class, but I could also be your friend, if you'd like, I could be the ever-happy side character to your main character!"

Kasuke Mina

Mina had to admit that the lecture so far was making her feel good about her quirk, and she had definitely made the right choice picking this class. The idea of pushing the limits of what her quirk was capable of as well as learning new uses for it was especially interesting to her. She did not regret her choice for even a second. Her mom had already taught her a little about facing villains and criminals. This class will do her far, far more good.

However, the teacher stressed that teamwork was important to this class; the first negative point between her and the class, though that in itself was something that she could improve upon; she hated working in a team. Teams just slow you down and hinder you. Donny went first and was so nervous, she really wanted to go and help him, but decided that this really was something everyone needed to do alone.

Mina went next, standing in front of the rest of the class, she stood aloof and haughty. "My name is Kasuke Mina, and my quirk is the ability to emit light from my body. I use it for blinding and distracting my foes, and seeing in the dark. I hope that in the future I can quickly focus the light so that a lot of energy is magnified onto a single point, creating a laser beam. I can currently do this to a degree, but it is too slow to be a viable combat option, and takes up all of my effort and attention." After speaking, Mina sat down.

Takeshi hadn't expected a fair game that was interesting. She'd have to find out more about this student. As for the rest of them, they looked confused, or indignant. And of course, nobody had questions. Not once has anybody in this elective ever had a question when she asked. Does anybody ever ask a question when the teacher says 'any questions?'

Still, it just meant she could continue interrupted, and continue she did. "I can see a few of you looking at me as if I've suggested something shocking. It's not shocking. It's common sense, and the first learning outcome of this class is, not to make you ditch your sense of justice, or your moral code, but to turn them from juvenile, black and white "Heroes must be nice and fight nice" mentalities into a grown up, realistic mindset. All the heroes you see on TV. When they fight heroes, they fight dirty. Don't believe me? I brought along some newspapers."

Mako went to her desk, and in her notes, picked out two newspapers. She held up one of them.

"This is from three weeks ago. The Masked Magician agreed to a kidnapper's demands but during the conversation, slipped in subliminal messages. The kidnapper thought that they had picked the location, so when they got there with the hostage for an exchange, it was an ambush."

She held up the other paper.

"This is from last week. Endeavour, the number two hero, flushed out a supervillain from his trap-filled laboratory lair by burning the entire building down. The supervillain willingly surrendered as he was caught fleeing. There was no risk to anybody's life except the villain's, as the lair was abandoned at the time. Neither of these Heroes acted villainous, but neither of them fought fair, and the actions of both saved lives."

Mako put down the newspapers, and picked up a stack of worksheets. She then walked round the class, handing them out to every student.

"On this sheet, I'm handing out, there are five villain scenarios. You must write how you would attempt to confront them. Use what I've taught so far only if you wish. There are no wrong answers. I just want to gauge you all, and your ability to understand fighting villains on day one of this class. One you finished filling that in, put in on my desk. While you're doing that, I will talk about this class some more. Weeks 1-4: fighting villains. Weeks 5-8: understanding villains. Weeks 9-12: predicting villainous activity. At the end of every four weeks, there will be a graded quiz covering that subject. At the end of the twelve weeks, there will be a formal written exam, as well as a practical exam, roleplaying a villain scenario."

The worksheet everyone received read as follows;

Scenario 1: You arrive at the scene of a bank robbery. The robber holds an elderly lady at gunpoint and demands that you let them escape or he'll shoot. The robber seems terrified, and his gun hand is shaking.

Scenario 2: A sword wielding killer in armour had massacred several people in the middle of the day in a downtown market. As you confront him, he bows, and appears to be following old-fashioned combat etiquette.

Scenario 3: You've managed to get tied up against a chair, and your quirk has somehow been nullified. The villain has a gun to your head, and says "I've waited a log time for this. This is one plan of mine that you won't foil!"

Scenario 4: A villain has brainwashed several civilians, and armed them. They stand between you and the villain, and they are advancing towards you with intent to attack. Your quirk has been nullified. The villain claimed earlier that if you killed him, the civilians would die.

Scenario 5: The classic; a villain has kidnapped a member of your family or a loved one very close to you, and has strapped them to a bed with a laser cutting the table their on, inching closer to their body with every passing second. They have also taken a schoolbus full of children and rigged it with a timed bomb. They claim that you don't have time to save them both.

Taleste stretched her legs out under the table, and yawned shamelessly. Despite this, she seemed to have taken everything in. They hadn't run into anything to test her skills. One locked door that she took three seconds to pic, and she spent the rest of her time on the recon team standing around and missing alcohol while the important people did the important stuff. When Stryker outlined the next phase of the plan, Taleste leaned forward.

"I'm assuming I'l be a whun in thuh Maelstrom. I'm not very guud at fighting, but I am guud at actin' an' talkin'. Though, if I am in the Pirate crew, I hope it is civilians. If there are whuns who fight back, I'm not gonna be much help. If I do have to kill, I'm more of an assassin than a soldier."

When she saw that everybody was here, Mako cleared her throat. "Alright, Class has officially started. I won't name names, but will everyone please find a seat? Miss Kishimoto. Mister Jasekade. Mister Haven."

She stood up, notes out in front of her to look down at if she needed to. "You've all read the board. 'How to beat a villain at their own game'. What do you think that means? I'll let you think about that for a second. But it is true that in your Hero careers, there will come a time amongst your rescuing and helping and public appearences when you may have to fight a villain. You might overpower them. They might be no match for you because there is such a gap between your quirks, or your physical traits, or you're their perfect counter. But sometimes the fight's more equal. Never forget that you're fighting a villain."

Mako moved out from her desk, picking up a rubber ball and holding it up so the class could see it, and approaching a front row seat student, which happened to be Takeshi. She slipped her hands behind her back for a second, and then revealed them, both curled up into fists. "Pick which hand the ball's in," she commanded him. No matter which he picked, she'd smirk, and open her hands. They were both empty. "You were wrong, and you lose."

She returned to her desk, slipping the ball out from her back pocket, and holding it up. She looked over at the class. Her smile was gone, and her eyes were open. She looked serious now, and made you want to sit up and pay attention. She was so usually carefree that just looking at her not smiling made you feel like you were in trouble, though you weren't.

"Villains cheat! If you meet a villain who's similar in power and skill to you, and you try to fight fair and with honor, you will either lose the fight, or lose the villain. The job of a hero is to keep peace, enforce justice, and encourage honor. They do that by fighting those who would disturb the peace, punishing those who would break the law, and being role models as much as they can. And you can't be any of those things if you're left flat on your ass, or worse, because you didn't fight just as dirty as the villain did!

My name is Ms. Mako. You may better know me as Madame Obsidian, the professional thief who went uncaught for six months straight and became the single most wanted Supervillain of my time. And I will be your teacher for this class. Any questions so far?

Kasuke Mina

Mina rolled her eyes listening to Acion talk. He sounded just like a guy playing a superhero in a pantomime to her. That said, he was putting her on the spot, and she was not as comfortable talking about her quirk issues with Acion as she was with Donny. She simply replied with "That is part of my reason for picking this class, yes."

They arrived at the class, and Mina took a seat behind Donny. Getting conversation from him was difficult but she wasn't the most talkative either, so it suited her. The teacher was White Hat. She had heard of him. He was an ethical hacker who often used his quirk to hack into the computer systems of organized crime syndicates and Supervillain groups. If anyone knew how to make the most of a quirk that wasn't necessarily the most flashy, it was him. Not that Mina's quirk wasn't flashy. In fact, it was literally flashy. But it wasn't a typically good quirk to fight Villain's or rescue people with. She was starting to feel a little better already.
