Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Saber

The other Masters had departed just as quickly as they had arrived...

For a few moments, Saber gaze had remained on the spot that Rider had occupied earlier. Yes, she would like to continue their battle. She felt she had discovered the key to forcing him on foot. But that could wait. Indeed, she wanted to resume their battle with no chance of interruption and no concerns about her Master being attacked while they fought. After moment, the black-haired swordswoman turned to face her Master.

"While he is somewhat unscrupulous, I have no reason to doubt Rider's word. He is an honest fi-..." she trailed off when she noticed just how much her Master was shaking. Had this experience terrified her so much? She found herself frowning. Saber had worried her Master was somewhat unprepared for battle, even with all the defenses she had prepared, and this confirmed her suspicions. After a moment's pause, she approached her Master.

"Master, this is but a single battle for the Holy Grail," began Saber, "You must prepare yourself for more. This will not be the end, and it will not end until each of the enemy Servants has fallen. Steel yourself for this future, Master, for this is what we both face."

For a few moments, the short girl hesitated. She was perhaps not the best at comforting others, but she had to say something... something from a place of honesty.

And so, a very small smile came to her lips.

"Besides, fighting to protect someone gives me a warm, nostalgic feeling," she said, immediately feeling somewhat embarrassed to be voicing such a thing, her cheeks coloring. It wasn't something that she would have otherwise said, but she had to say something to her Master, did she not? Ah, but it was so embarrassing to just voice something like that with a smile! Being embarrassed was horribly, terribly impractical! "... Regardless, I do agree that we must proceed quickly."

Unwilling to allow her Master to leave her sight, Saber quickly did the first thing that came to mind. Certainly, it was embarrassing, but in the end it was necessary.

The black-haired swordswoman grasped her Master's hand and began to guide her towards the Church.

I figured the restricting factor was "Saber is right there, Jack has to reveal herself to use her NP" more then Magic Resistance. ^^;
@Feyblue: Eh, Saber might make that a bit hard even if Jack can get in there in time. It's pretty risky with her right there.
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Rider

As the panic subsided, when she was pulled from the hole, Estelle caught her Servant's expression.

Her hands balled into fists and she cast her gaze towards the ground. She hated it. She absolutely hated it. She hated that she'd been taken by surprise, she hated that she'd given in to panic when her leg got stuck. She hated that she had second-guessed herself after giving the kill order. She hated the face her Rider was making. She hated it all. She was angry, furious with the other magus, who... now for some reason was attempting to defend her? Estelle didn't understand, but mostly she was just angry.

Angry with Johanna Faust, but more then that she was angry with herself. She couldn't stand how quickly she'd panicked. It wasn't how she normally acted. It wasn't what symbolized the Varianbec family. It wasn't living up to their memory, and most of all it wasn't her. Estelle knew she wasn't a fool who panicked at the slightest sign of danger, and yet... She'd given into a sudden spurt of fear when her leg was trapped. At the moment she didn't even want to argue with her Servant about leaving.

"... No, Rider, we'll go," she said, in a rather flat, morose tone, "... Next time, I won't be ordering you to kill her."

She finally turned away from the direction that the magus's Servant had taken her.

"... I'll punish her myself..."

When @Cu Chulainn posts I'll post an angry loli being angry.
What was with these madmen? They ignored arrows piercing their bodies? Were they so filled with adrenaline that even the impact of an arrow was ignored? Surely those who were struck by such a thing would likely die, given their armor seemed completely ineffective at defending them... Regardless of what the case was, Fanilly lowered herself against her horse. She had no shield. As Captain of the Iron Roses, her next duty was to kill or drive the attackers, prevent them from hurting anyone else.. Shouting to the archers for them to keep firing, to take out as many of the enemies as they could, Fanilly swiftly sprang from her white mare.

She feared she would only kill the poor horse if she attempted to charge her into battle. She was not a mounted combatant, her training had been in fighting on-foot. Indeed, moments after Fanilly left her mare, she was charged by a crazed man with an arrow protruding from one limp arm. Didn't they feel pain?! He swung his sword at her, and she swiftly locked the blade into her parrying dagger and thrust her sword through his chest, burying it to the hilt in his body and then drawing it out just as swiftly. With a gurgle he collapsed. At the very least, she knew what would stop them...

Almost immediately another man was upon her, forcing her to back up and avoid the swing of his heavy axe. The head buried itself in the ground and almost as swiftly as he had approached, the blonde girl stepped inwards and put her sword clear through his heart. Her armor's alloy allowed her to move swiftly, almost completely unencumbered, and these cultists simply were not as swift on their feet. However, they were relentless, it seemed as if nothing would stop them but death.
Estelle's going to be mad at herself now for panicking like that.
@Crimson Paladin: He looks good to me, accepted.

Sorry for the delay in posting, I'll have something up this weekend!
I decided that ignoring one or the other thing done to Estelle seemed kind of wrong so I decided to try and include both of them in what happened to her. ^^;
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Rider

Almost the moment she made the order, Estelle became uncertain. She rarely felt that, but deep down she disliked targeting other Masters. Even with how... stupid and... and... and cruel that enemy Master had been to say such things, had it really been worth breaking Rider off of the fight to attack her? Well, at least there would be one less pair to worry abou-

Something strange happened beneath Estelle's left leg. She stumbled, and one leg fell into a hole... and was promptly surrounded by dirt. She didn't realize it at the time, but the dirt was actually quite helpful, preventing the hole from becoming far smaller far faster and trapping her leg, or worse. But on her own, it was difficult to pull her leg free. She wasn't strong, and even though her bounded field might protect her leg when the dirt gave way...

Even in spite of her knowledge. Even in spite of her situation. In spite of everything, Estelle was still a child in some aspects. Attempting to tug her leg free, the tan-skinned girl's heartrate began to quicken.

"M-my leg, it's pressing down on... on..." the girl was trying hard not to panic, but she was beginning to find it hard to resist that natural impulse. She had some room, the dirt was moving a little with each tug, but it was also pressing down. Her bounded field was holding, but...

"I-I can't get it out! I... I... i-it's stuck I..."

Saber

Saber hesitated. The agreement was restricted only to Rider's Master and her own, and not on any others. However, Berserker's Master had not done anything to harm Mira or herself. At the same time, it seemed Berserker's Master had attacked Rider's. She was a child... Saber could not confess she wished to see a child attacked, but she was an enemy as well... this left the black-haired swordswoman uncertain of what to do, even after receiving the mental communication from her Master.

And Berserker, as well... there was no denying his class now. On top of that, familiarity was starting to become more and more apparent. She still wasn't precisely certain, but she knew that such a figure was spoken of in legend... She simply had to recall which one. A monkey-like man who qualified as Berserker...

For the moment there was only one thing she could be certain she must do. As much as she disliked seeing a child in distress, she was still the enemy and it could be expected her Servant would assist instead. So, keeping her nodachi drawn, Saber slowly returned to her Master's side to protect her. It seemed like the best option at the moment given all that had happened.
