Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Saber

Her opponent was powerful, but thanks to the blow that had knocked her out of the sky that power had been dulled. The blonde knight had no doubt in her own capabilities, but this battle had to be dealt with quickly and, preferably, non-lethally. If the valkyries only understood what had become of Bynhildr, she was certain they would wish to do everything they could to free her from the corruption that now gripped her mind and body. Thus, Saber wished to do what she could to end her battle with her opponent without killing her, if possible. If she could overpower her and slam her down, then maybe...

Arturia prepared herself for the coming blow from her opponent.

"Your Elder sister has been corrupted by some sort of terrible darkness!" she declared, "If you care for her, you must understand that she is no longer of her right mind! It's not the curse that was laid upon her love, it-"

That massive thundering sound...!

Arturia stepped back, unable to prevent herself from glancing away from the battle if only for a moment, to the sight of a truly enormous wolf, towering over all the others. A great wolf from Norse mythology, a massive beast embodying the cold, could it be...!?

Her train of thought was interrupted as ice hurtled towards her. No matter what the great wolf's nature was, nothing could be done about it until Saber defeated Thrud! Stepping back, with a flash of her sword she cleaved apart one of shafts of ice that had hurtled towards her, sending its fragments into the air! But it was that very moment that Thrud's thrust spear careened towards her, forcing the blonde knight to step to the side to avoid being skewered. Using the invisible flat of her blade, she pushed the spear to the side and then raised her sword. From this range, the only option left to her opponent would be to block, as she was past the spear's optiminal range! Therefore...!

When the King of Knights swung her sword down to meet the shaft of the shimmering spear, there was a brilliant flash of light, a rush of noise and air. For the briefest moment, the true form of her sword was visible, the elegant blade surrounded by a brilliant gold light as Saber directed her mana to overpowering the valkyrie, slamming her down into the earth as hard as she could!

Caster

Ah? Lancer had jumped right over her head!

Well, at least it gave her an opening to try... something, anything. While there was little she could do when it came to intervening in the fight between Lancer and her opponent, the valkyries attacking the other Caster(except she was using a sword. How inappropriate! What kind of magus was she?! Of course someone with that much chest would be so lacking in proper magecraft!) were a different story. Now that no-one was attacking her, she could cancel the barrier. In fact, the valkyries were no longer paying her any attention... that would be a mistake, on their part.

Their resistance to magecraft, after all, was not perfect. Even if the full impact of her spells would be dulled... Well, the aim wasn't to kill them outright. But if she could incapacitate a few, or open them up to counterattack by the allied Caster...

Or simply give them what they deserved for forgetting she could still fight back.

"Just because you're the tools of the gods who seem to have an answer to everything I can muster doesn't mean you should just forget about me!" Skuld declared, a sound like a ringing bell echoing through the theater as a large, green magic circle spreading over her head. Raising her staff, she released a hail of green light, some of her stronger offensive spells! Since they were distracted, the Elven Queen had time to prepare!

I know some of you have other stuff going on, but I'd like an update at least on what's been going on. ^^;

@ZekariVoblis: Ah, sorry, I didn't realize you added backstory. ^^; Yeah, you're good now.
@Foolish Errant: Hmm, I'd need to see more detail, but I think that works out.
@Foolish Errant: It is!
Saber of Red

At her Master's words, Saber nodded. The suit was a suitable outfit that bit her well. As for her Master, it was still something to get used to, having a child as her Master, but at the very least she had quickly been able to accept that Illyasviel was not a true child in spite of her appearance and some of her mannerisms. Saber herself had a body that had ceased to age, albeit not as young as Illyasviel. She wouldn't have been able to abide by the involvement of a child in the Holy Grail War, and to be honest it still didn't exactly feel right to her. However, this would not change her conduct in the war itself. She had already intended to do everything she could to ensure the safety of her Master, and therefore she would continue to do so. Indeed, given the circumstances of the war, she felt that the young-seeming girl would be safe. Not only did Saber herself have the utmost faith in her abilities, but she had learned there were other guardians for her, including her younger brother, who was just now conducting his own summoning.

The knight was certain that she would not fail.

But the system's changes had been almost foreign. Not even the Grail had immediately communicated the scenario to Saber, it had fallen on her Master to explain that this would be a Holy Grail War fought with allies. Against another team of Servants... But the chance to fight alongside other heroes of legend was hardly something that could be disappointing for Saber. The blonde girl looked forward to conducting honorable conduct at the side of others who desired the same thing.

So, for the moment, her attention had settled on the boy performing the summoning. He appeared to be older than Illyasviel, but the reality was that he was the younger of the two siblings. It was also quite easily to discern that he was not related to her by blood, even though Arturia had not been told of the circumstances.

It was only a few moments until they discovered who he had summoned.

Ireland's Child of Light, Cu Chulainn. One of the strongest wielders of the spear, possibly one of the most powerful heroic spirits that could be summoned as a Lancer-class Servant. He seemed to be quite enthusiastic to discover he had been summoned to do battle in the Holy Grail War, and had quickly understood that it was a battle conducted between two teams in this situation. After some conversation, Lancer had elected to perform a patrol rather then head to the meeting immediately, and Saber could certainly agree with his logic. While meeting the other Servants was important, scoping out the city and possible enemy positions was as well. Given his agility and almost canine hunting instinct, he seemed well-suited to scouting.

With that, it had been time to attend the meeting.

"Master," began Saber, as they departed, "I shall take a forward position to ensure that we are not ambushed. While we cannot be certain of the enemy's current level of strength, or their activity, the possibility of an early assault cannot be ignored."

Indeed, while she did not know the way, it was easy enough to take directions from her Master while taking the lead to ensure that she could react to any potential threats as quickly as possible.

It was not long before they arrived at the Tohsaka residence. Immediately on arrival, Arturia sensed the presence of multiple Servants, and indeed they were quickly visible. A tall, musclebound man with bright red hair, and...

Arturia paused for a moment.

Beside a nun, one whom she recalled had been mentioned shortly after their summoning as an ally intending to summon Archer, was... a little girl? It had already been surprising to see her Master, but now one of the Servants was a child as well...? She looked to be the same physical age as Illyasviel.

The little girl noticed her, and when Arturia tried her best to give a reassuring(if somewhat uncertain) smile, the white-haired child quickly sidled around to the opposite side of the nun, in an attempt to hide.

Just who was the little girl? She hardly seemed to be an Archer...

Perhaps... perhaps kicking him had been wrong. For a moment, Fumie walked herself back from such an extreme reaction. No, it had definitely been wrong. He was a stranger, and he had been stupid, but that didn't excuse kicking him in the shin, did it? At least, not quite so hard. Just as she was about to apologize for having such a harsh reaction, but still clarify how angry she was at being run into and insulted... he spoke again. And insulted her again. For a few moments, Fumie was unable to properly voice her own reaction. How would one person be so... so stupid!? Such a stupid jerk!? She'd run into plenty of stupid jerks, but this was a total stranger acting like a bigger moron then any of them in the first few sentences he'd ever spoken to her!

"Grrr..." Fumie's hands balled themselves into fists, but this time she just barely managed to stop herself from physically attacking him again. Even though he so totally deserved it, at least in the short girl's mind. "Is this how you treat everyone you run into!? Insulting them until they want to hit you!? I'm sure you make plenty of friends like that!"

Even in her current state, however, she couldn't help but notice the rabbit perched near the crater in the concrete nearby. Obviously it wasn't something you saw every day...

A rabbit investigating something like this...
