Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

For one girl, her exploration over the forest yielded little... except, perhaps, what seemed almost like an illusory glimpse of some sort of mansion...

For another, the two confused children seemed to reluctantly agree to the idea of teaming up, though it was probably less conclusive then she liked.

For yet another, the chilling sensation of being observed suddenly vanished.

And for Hoshino Hikari, she ached all over and found quite a bit to complain about.

But regardless of all of that, even magical girls had to get home at some point, or at least find somewhere to take a rest.

And thus, the first day of the Hex Night ended. Referring to it as a single night was somewhat erroneous, as the conflict between magical girls would last as long as it was required to reach a single victor.

The Second Day

For a few moments after Hikari awakened, she felt almost as if her experience the previous night was some sort of dream. But as her mind cleared, of course, she swiftly came to understand that it wasn't the case, that every single moment of it had been real.

She really was a magical girl, and one who was now facing the prospect of participating in a battle between magical girls for the purpose of obtaining a wish.

In spite of this knowledge hanging in her mind, her daily routine began as normal. Wake up, brush her teeth, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, and get ready for her day at school.

After having breakfast and leaving her home, Hikari recalled the chatroom and opened her phone, thumbing through it. It didn't take particularly long to join, but after she had done so the petite brunette simply started quietly at the chatroom. What did you even talk about in there? Beating each other up for the Hex Night? That didn't sound very likely, at least... before she could decide on how to introduce herself, however...

"Hey, Hikari-chan!" called another girl's voice.

It was her friends, the dark-haired, average-height Yoshimura Tomoe, followed by the somewhat taller and lighter-haired Saikawa Hanako.

"Did you hear about all the weird stuff that happened last night?!" she asked, excitedly.

For a few moments, Hikari stared blankly, before coming to the realization that this was very likely in connection to the Hex Night.

But her response to Tomoe was the same as usual when it came to the girl's weird ideas.

"More ridiculous rumors, Tomoe-san?"

"They're not ridiculous!"

Hikari only tried looking at the chatroom again much later, when it was time for lunch. It was really the only opportunity she got, at that point... It seemed like trying at any other time was a bad idea for more than one reason.

@Bartimaeus: Yeah, I figured a split was pretty necessary given the size of the cast. It won't always be that way, but I'll try and make sure everyone's lot clustered into one scene all the time.

I'm glad you're excited!
Sorry for the delay, was a little busy today, I'll get on it tomorrow. ^^;
Right going to get going on a character soon.
So out of curiosity, what is everyone thinking so far? I hope this is proving to be a decent intro to the RP. ^^;
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Berserker

"Ah?! Wha... er..."

Estelle trailed off. She hadn't at all been prepared for a Servant that would tear up on her suggestion. She thought it was a strategically sound one, especially given they hadn't gotten the opportunity to do so the previous night. But it had made her Servant cry? Well... not full-on sob but she'd definitely teared up! She had no idea that Minamoto no Yorimitsu, the legendary oni-slayer of Japan, would be such... such an emotional lady!

"... I'll have some of your cooking later!" she declared, finally, with a nod of her head, after Berserker finished listing off some conditions. They were all things that Estelle had already intended, only a fool would leave their Servant's side(though being forbidden as if Berserker was her mother was a little bothersome, at least it aligned with her plans already) and her maids would draw a lot of attention while a Servant could go into spirit form, or potentially be overlooked in a crowd. "We'll eat dinner here before we go out to slaughter the opposition."

Estelle gave herself a satisfied smile. While she was taken off-guard by her Servant's behavior, there was no denying that her status was incredibly high, and on top of that she was a Berserker with an intact and conscious mind.

"... Besides, I was already intending on all of that," she added, with a wave of her hand, "Only an idiot would wander off without their Servant, and my maids need to stay behind to care for the mansion. Fufu, I wonder if any of our opponents are stupid enough to walk around without their Servant?"

She giggled to herself.

"As soon as I'm ready, we'll depart, Berserker."

And so, after a quick bath, Estelle was ready to head out. She didn't quite have anywhere to eat in mind already, rather she intended to set out and show Berserker around first, then simply find somewhere to have breakfast along the way.

Interest!
Okay, quick update, going to be posting today or tomorrow. That will be closing the day.
Upon noting that so many people were sampling the biscuits that she had ordered specifically for herself and Saturday, Arinne narrowed her eyes in irritation. At least glancing towards Saturday made her somewhat less annoyed.

"Next time I'll order a batch laced with Bitrex and dead spiders," she commented, loud enough to be heard. Not simply due to annoyance, but also because the idea of her servants worriedly checking any food well before eating it was incredibly amusing to her. There was also pair of late arrivals, the lady knight Grain Blackmore and someone she knew from her childhood, Lillia Avemaria. Naturally, the both of them would need some further clarification on just what was occurring.

"In any case, for the tardy ones," she added, leaning back in her seat, "We've been discussing that murderer. Jack the Ripper of 2019. As as been discussed, the killer has used some form of magic in order to displace the victims' organs from inside their bodies, as Miss Selas stated. As for why I'm so interested, well..."

She shrugged.

What was left unsaid was one of the most clear reasons for Arinne's personal interest in this killer: Her parents had been killed with magic that attacked the interior of their bodies while leaving the exterior unscathed.

"As Mister Kissinger said, medical knowledge and magical knowledge both would be required for this method of killing, especially to do it so swiftly and thoroughly that there is little opportunity for a struggle," continued the small blonde, "With consideration to displacement sorcery combined with medical knowledge, well... I rather think it's unlikely this is simply any random mage, even if they are new to crime and desperate."

She cocked her head to one side, with a smile.

"Such knowledge combined with potent magic of such a narrow field... I wonder where ever such a mage could spend their time, and what profession they could hold?"

She didn't directly state it, but Arinne's suspicions weren't exactly subtle.

She suspected a member of the Tower's faculty. No-one specific as of yet...

"But there's no way to find out more information without seeing the crime scene for ourselves."

One hand returned to Saturday's head, stroking her hair lightly as she did.

"Fufu, you're just devouring those biscuits... are you a kitten, or a hamster? Just how many of those have you eaten, now?" she asked, suddenly breaking from her more serious discussion, "Beware, Saturday, of gaining weight. What would I do with you if you became squishy? Use you as a cushion?"

Of course, she didn't expect Saturday was at risk of such a thing, but the amusement of seeing her reaction to having such things said about her in front of so many people was enough motivation.

"But matters of Saturday's cuteness aside, we're going to be visiting the crime scenes," stated Arinne, her attention returning to the room at large. "Myself, Saturday, Lillia, and Mister St. John visit the site of the first murder, Miss Selas, Mister Kissinger, and Lady Blackmore will visit the second, and Miss Dalraan, Mister Murakami, and Mister Vadris will visit the site of the third."

Arinne steepled her fingers once more, leaning forward.

"That's the best way to gather more information, you see."
