Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Hey, sorry for a delay on GM rulings on bios, I'll get to it tomorrow. Figured I'd just make sure everyone was aware, sorry again for the wait! ^^;
@pandapolio: I still think you're not quite there with explaining his powers. I want to get a good idea of what he can do in the middle of a fight.

Additionally, his tattoos let him bypass a catalyst entirely like we discussed, so he doesn't need a focus.
@AzureKnight: No final judgement since it's a WIP, but I do need to point out if something has a very simple basic function it's probably not an artifact.

@ERode: Since it's WIP I'll wait until it's finished.

@samakama: The overwhelming majority of undead are mindless zombie-types. That's not to say there aren't exceptions, but those exceptions are an extreme rarity and the Burial Agency therefore acts on the assumption that all undead are mindless monsters unless proven otherwise. So I'm going to have to say no, simply due to the circumstances.

Also, I genuinely didn't expect as much interest as I've gotten, so honestly I can't imagine I'm going to accept more then two to three more characters.
@ERode: Your question is very valid.

Exactly what kind of damage characters can take is expected to vary, I suppose. Getting stabbed might not be an issue for our robot catgirl, but if you're human without some sort of healing magic it'll be a big deal.

Your average artifact hunter is generally a fairly skillful human. They maybe know magic, they may not. They're typically good at fighting or escaping from danger. For feats of superhuman capability... I'd expect some ability to dodge bullets, and definitely deal with bandits and your more standard creatures very effectively. Additionally, fighting some of the more "regular" named opponents should be plenty possible. But when it comes to more substantial threats I expect people to need to work together for now, until things start picking up in terms of character progression.

And we have some individual capabilities such as Rune's character who can demolish undead and deal with ghosts very effectively.

I feel like I'm not doing a very good job of explaining this, and unfortunately when I do get my bio up her complete lack of combat ability won't be able to give a good idea of what I'm expecting. But to put it in a little perspective, before putting this RP up I originally have a much stronger character in mind who could freely deflect a hail of bullets and clear bandit camps by herself, but I decided to split her plotline off as I concluded she was far too strong(and would steal the spotlight way too much) for the vision I had for the RP to begin with.
@Dead Cruiser: I'm going to be honest here.

I wanted to avoid causing further drama, but the concerns I've received were not only about your second character but about you as a player as well. Considering I received them from multiple other potential players who I will not be naming as that will only feed more drama, I have to keep this in mind as well.

After receiving these concerns, I am going to have to ask you politely to leave.

@Bartimaeus: While she mostly checks out, I'll point out not everyone needs an artifact. So if it's weak for an artifact it doesn't need to be one.

@ERode: Power level will vary a bit, but I'm intending for monsters of that caliber to be a significant threat that will take most of the party to take on to start with. Character progression will very much be a thing.
@Dark Cloud: That would be fine.

@ERode: This is a pretty interesting idea, I like it.
@Searat: Alright, this looks pretty good. Just want to make sure, before I accept, that it's clear this setting is not much like Fallout, with the plentiful magic and magitech elements, the widespread forests and some quite advanced cities, and literal sky whales.

Since I can see there's some inspiration here, and just wanted to make sure you knew what it was going to be like before we got going so as to avoid any confusion.

With that in mind, accepted.

@Dark Cloud: @Raineh Daze covered it pretty well.
@Dark Cloud: Multiple spells are the norm. Multiple types of magic depends on complexity.

@Searat: Will check when I'm back on my computer properly!
@Pyromania99: Accepted.

@Searat: To clarify a little bit if you make the changes I asked for you'll probably be accepted.
@Dead Cruiser: If you want me to be clearer, I do immediately have to take issues with you forcing in the man-eating snake angle after being told to remove it as an action your character takes by shifting it to your snake summon. Sure, maybe having a snake that could chomp people wouldn't have been an issue on its own, but the way this has been handled certainly is to me.

Honestly this is less to do with the trait at this point and more to do with the fact that it feels like you're trying to work around my word as a GM rather then listening to what I ask you do to. Getting you to make your character appearance fall in line with what beastfolk are meant to be like in the setting took more tries then it should have and you've still tried to keep as many details in as possible, including waxing his entire body to remove all hair for some reason.

Worming around my word is not going to endear me to your attempts to join my RP and it's in part why I've been hesitant this entire time.

Most importantly, however, I've already had one player publicly state concerns about your character and that isn't the only person, both in terms of people who have already signed up and who are considering signing up, who have done the same privately.

In this light I'm not inclined to continue working at this character.
