I feel like I’ve only seen you in one other “non-CAH” game since you guys moved from Superherohype in 2012. What a pleasant surprise. What kind of characters have you done in the past?

Nitemare has done a lot for RPG with bringing over Create-a-Hero from Hype, I think. Him and Hound found the right audience and have really pushed that game forward for the last few years. It's amazing. Kinda weird that is the most successful Hype game, but I suppose it isn't really when you think about it. People prefer to test their own creations than interpret canon characters.

I’ve joined and re-joined CAH a lot of times. I’ve made three characters and I never feel confident or motivated with them. I think the whole “I was gone for five seconds and now someone is using Arthurian lore and fixing up my part of the city and I have no control over shit, fuck” thing has kind of demotivated me for years. I love the two major characters I made, but I never feel urgency in writing them or feel comfortable with any of it.

Raptorgate was fun, though.

Don't be intimidated. We typically have everything that you need to know easily accessible and we're always happy to help with any questions you might have. Always room for more.

I did an Ultimate Martian Manhunter, and I had an idea for an Ultimate John Stewart back in the day. I also played Venom in a version of this game, but it'd be way too early for that here.

You should join! I try an post once a week with my characters, which keeps the pressure low. Allows me to focus on a post at a time and not try and overdo it.

You guys are always super welcoming, but I just can never get the right headspace. Plus, there's so much going on I get information overload. Also the whole thing with my Marcus and VATROU's Alternate Merlin has always left me sour.

I looked at it once about seven years ago, maybe, saw it seemed to center around a sentient, space raptor emperor ruling a galactic kingdom while also being a superhero, then decided to look elsewhere.

VATROU actually helped me quite a bit the first time I tried to join. They were very welcoming and forthcoming. But the massive amount of lore for each character was overwhelming.

It's not the pace. The pacing, slow but steady, is what encouraged me to try to join in the first place.

It has been a few years since I skimmed through the IC of the pre-Guildfall Create-A-Hero RPG, but I don't think that space raptor ever got far.
