Time
Arc 2, Day 1-Night
Location
One Night in Hell (Nightclub section), Entertainment District in Ominar

In the background, the nightclub seemed to have picked up. The DJ, from what Lily could tell, was doing an excellent job driving the crowds into a frenzy. Electrical neon lights darted through the entrance, bathing the nearest patrons with its inviting display. The rhythm oozed from the club creating an intoxicating draw. The vibration of the music fed Lily’s confidence and drove her eagerness to return to her passion, her foot subtly tapped to it.

Lily’s smile widened at being acknowledged by Corrina. Truthfully, the siren believed the younger woman had forgotten her. It had been three months after all.

“Every girl on a night on the town needs some embellishment, and you’ve done a wonderful job on yourself. And yes, I’m working a singing gig here. It took a few favors, but it was worth since my rock star days.”

Though Lily had only met Corinna once, her mind observed the woman’s behavior. Her gut stirred slightly causing her to make notes about the odd change in mannerisms. Part of Lily wanted to explain it away with the nightclub setting, but it seemed the changes were too drastic. It was hard to place exactly what bothered the older Licenti about Corinna’s display.

Her attention turned to Marcus’s comment next.

“I agree. Come on, it’s no fun staying out here.” Lily commented then gestured for them to follow Marcus.

Second that notion!
Noah Griffin
Vae Lynn SaDablio

As Noah shuffled out of his chosen room, he stretched. His right arm lifted over his head while his other arm curled behind it. The shoulder gave a subtle fleshy pop in his ear causing him to mentally flinch for a moment. Each step set his soles on fire, evidence that few blisters had ruptured during the trip. However, it was better than staining his work boots with his own blood.

His eyes drifted to the bath only to see a few human evacuate it. Noah’s lips pressed tightly as his arms fell to his side, one rose up to stroke his goatee in thought. He had a very nasty feeling in his gut. It caused him to pause at the door to the bath as he fought with his options.

Vae slowly crept towards the bathing chamber, her clothes being more simple than her family wanted, and yet that was just fine. The girl’s stepmother called it a stage right now. That every teenager had some stage of it. Her mother would have apologized to the family hed in order to regain favor. Considering that the two of them were treading on extremely thin lines. The young woman slowly her walking, rubbing her eyes in order to help push those thoughts away.

These thoughts were completely unwanted and would drag her down if not removed. Back into the complete darkness in the formal years that her former lover had caused. The lingering pain was the only thing to make the female stranger throughout the beating which nearly took her life multiple times. In a way, the native American knew when it would happen. Actually, it was easy to tell when the teenager was furious. A subtle twitch in his left hand, eyes being rubbed by the left limb as a lingering sigh, only to be followed by a quick raised motion. Enough force to cause a mark and show how much the guy owned her.

Vae shivered as the image popped inside her mind. In all honesty Stefan would have loved Yin. The wâkoshęha was violent with others if they misbehaved granted that he would have attempted to talk the animal into hurting the ones responsible. A rather twisted smile crossing his lips. Yes, Yin didn’t really seem like the one to follow those he didn’t like. If that was what you called that here. Perhaps Yin would have killed Stephen in one single claw swipe. Right now none of this matter. All she needed now was a distraction. Someone to help forced these images away. Perhaps the young woman would find the African American again. Yes. Her figure shifted forward towards the bathing area as if she was a zombie in need of brains only to slam into Noah.

Noah jerked forward from the impact. Startled by the sudden shove, his foot took a few steps to recover his balance then he twisted about to face Vae. He opened his mouth, about to reprimand her for not watching her path, when he noticed her blank expression. She seemed stuck in life’s motions. His right hand rested on his narrow hips as his other hand pinched his nose bridge in thought. The man inhaled then exhaled, finally latched onto what to say.

He removed his hand from his nose to address Vae.

“Careful where you’re going, you’re going to hurt yourself or worse.”

”Huh? Sorry about that. I guess I lost myself in thought.” She remarked with a small shake of her head. Her eyes scanned the area, noting the barely occupied room, and sighed. It wasn't a bad thing that they would get the room to themselves granted the different genders made things a bit...awkward. The girl slowly placed her hand towards her temple.

” A community bath is great and all but when it comes to strangers that is rather inconvenient. So glad my ‘husband’ isn't here or else things would get rather tense. Oh, how I long to be in a castle for him to save me. Phew.” Vae remarked with a snare.

” I've been meaning to ask you something neniwa. What is your name?”

Noah noticed the word again. His eyes sized her up, trying to find some clue to the meaning, only to come up empty. Her face gave nothing away. This irritated him since he was pretty good at observing others and figuring out their intentions. However, this woman seemed to be nothing more than a living statue on the outside.

It gave him the shivers along his spine. Shrugging it off, he considered an answer to her question.

“Call me No, my younger brother did. And for the public bath, I’m not exactly excited about having my junk on display.”

” Vae Lynn SaDablio. Neniwa means your gender in the Mississippi Fox and Sac Tribe. I’m only saying this because of your facial features. Yes, I’m full-blooded Native American. Both my parent’s bloodlines have different tribes. I was born in Mississippi and moved to Germany around 8 or 9. My family units love me and accept me…” Vae remarked in a completely robotic tone. This was always the greeting that she was taught by that sadistic grandmother of hers. You introduce yourself with the full name. Tell people your family loves you just in case they begin to wonder about the sibling’s strange behavior. After this, you talk about whatever subjects the guest are talking about. If you don’t know anything about it you’re to stand next to your husband and stay quiet.

” Fucking hell Vae. Screw it. Formalities are out the window at this point. Dismiss the whole introduction and allow me to restart. My name is Vae Lynn SaDablio. I’m 16 years old. I’ve lived through hell between two step-siblings, a drunk father, stepfamily who tell you what to think along with what to do. I’m also married one of many abusive males in the world. Before you ask the answer to the possible question is yes. Yes, my parents know we’re married. In fact, they’re all fooled by the asshole. I’ve learned to be unemotional. So all of this,” She gestured between them. ” Is completely new to me.”

Noah’s mouth opened to speak then just popped shut. No words could describe his thoughts over Vae’s robotic display. Her words were so rehearsed that there was no reason to believe they were earnest. Unable to even know how to approach this, he fell to his natural reaction. Caution. Unsure if the old saying about crazy being contagious, Noah took a step backward to put more space between them.

“A small suggestion, talking to yourself will make people uncomfortable around you. So… don’t do that. Next, nice to meet you. You’ve explained a lot.”

His tone was polite, but wariness tinted the otherwise friendly statement. Noah’s eyes drifted back to the bath chamber. He really needed to bath because the filth on his skin was beginning to itch. Even worse, he didn’t want to see what happened if he didn’t get cleaned up for their ‘lordship’.

” First off I'm emotionally compromised. It's been years since I've allowed myself to even feel. This whole trip has been nothing but emotions around every corner. You would be surprised how many times I expected someone to throw a punch or pull a knife out. Trust is something I have little of. The second thing is the whole step back. That's rude. Very fucking rude. I'm not crazy. Yes, I know that phrase well. Speaking out loud helps me stay sane. Thirdly what are you doing standing here?” She asked in a monotone voice.

‘You could fool me lady…’ Noah’s thoughts were dripping with sarcasm, but he wisely kept silent. Any retort would likely lead to an argument he personally wanted to avoid. Especially with this woman.

At her question, Noah’s guard came up once more.

“A few people came flying out of the bathing chamber. I’m trying to figure out if I want to risk heading in or risk the consequences of not getting cleaned up.”

Vae just looked at Noah, as if she was looking for something hidden for a few seconds, before pushing him inside with her right at his heels.

All the assassins managed to escape.

Not a single trace was able to be found as they vanished like smoke in the wind, the warehouse reduced to a partly burnt ruin. With the scene quiet, the students were left to resume their earlier mission. Those still healthy quickly collected their crippled allies and proceeded with medical attention. Much to a few of their fortunes, Samuel seemed to have prepared for trouble. About six tightly bundled blood sickness herbs were stashed among their things within the carriage.

Within the next two days, Henri, Lyn, and Leith were back on their feet. Naturally, during a long conversation things were decided to bring Henri back to the college with them.

Things became uneventful since the assassins didn’t aim a second time for the chest. When the students finally arrived at their final destination, the Baron was grateful for the chest. Even so, he provided them with a return letter for Lucilia. Insisting that they waste no time in returning to the college before the day end, he bade them farewell.

Present

Lyn

Lyn sat, comfortable and warm, covered by blanket inside the carriage. Being slightly cold-blooded, her instinct forced her to suck heat from the nearest heat source. Much to Henri’s enjoyment, that happened to be him. She disliked the cold as it bit through the wool and dug into her flesh. It chilled her to the very bone at the worst times.

The driver upfront hollers back to his passengers. “Twilight College just ahead, folks.”

Gradually the large gates creaked open to allow the horse and the students through. As the horse snorted, their figures brought to a halt, Lyn was the first out. The blanket still wrapped about, she felt her joints pop then snap upon exiting.

“Oh, geeze… ow…owie!”

She leaned back to release the pressure on her back. Sitting for days on end was not fun at all and made her muscles all stiff.

Seeing the younger woman still panicking, Val decided to take matters into her own hands. The dwarven woman gently placed her hands on either side of Elise’s arms then gently guided the woman toward the infirmary. Averting eyes from the color red.

“Come on Lassie, follow me.”

Val paused long enough to address Veretu.

“ Ye n’ Summer t’ere ‘ead to t’e kitc’ens. T’en explore the college a bit. I’ll ‘ave K’an send Rat’el to git ye later. Sounds like a plan?”

Time
Arc 2, Day 1~ 3 P.M.
Location
Darius’ office, within Ominar

There was a sharp knock on Darius’ office door. After several moments, the knob twisted then clicked open. A familiar face edged halfway inside. Afua. Her eyes flipped from one end to the other, searching for Darius. At first glance, she failed to spot him until her eyes came to rest on his desk. Lips slowly softened into a smile at the sight.

Feeling safer inside than half-way out, she finished entering the room. Her hand casually tossed her dreadlocks over her shoulder as she bumped her hips backward, the door softly clicked shut. Mindful to lock it, she pushed off it.

No one should see him like this. It would crack the image he worked so hard to establish, especially among his employees. It surprised her, really, to find him sound asleep at his desk. He look vulnerable with torso hunched over the top, an arm folded into a makeshift pillow and chest gently slumbering. If it wasn’t for the fact it would insult his pride, she would dare to call him cute.

Afua found herself relieved she found Darius. The less trustworthy would’ve taken advantage of his state and possibly end his life with a blade through his unaware head. Ending his reign in Ominar’s Entertainment District. She shuddered at the thought then reached for his shoulder.

“Baas,” she began to get his attention, “Wake up.”

As her hand made it halfway, Darius’ arm shot up. The coarse fingers tightened instantly about the wrist. Afua flinched but bit her tongue. Inside, she knew it was her own fault. She owned up to that and would bear through the punishment of her foolishness. Sluggishly Darius’ right eyelid lifted to reveal his golden iris. He momentarily sized Afua up then released his grip, allowing Afua to jerk it back. She tenderly rubbed her wrist as she broke the growing silence.

“Ag, a little rough. Was that really necessary?” Her words hinted at sudden, and needed aggression. It wasn’t the only thing that changed.

His paranoia practices had waned since his intimate connections. It was a fact that concerned the younger woman. Infatuation was one thing, but she had started to wonder if this wasn’t something more. She hoped not. Nothing against Masha, but Darius couldn’t afford the luxury.

Pushing her discomfort to the side, she forced her posture to relax. She leaned against the desk’s edge. Her arms propped her upright, waiting for Darius’ answer to her question. The necromancer’s gaze searched for the expected bullshit she felt he might sprout.

Ignoring her scrutinize, Darius righted himself in his chair. His hands began to rub away the grit in his eyes. Slowly pulling them down his muzzle, his golden eyes tightened in suspicion at her attentive concern about his well-being.

Inhaling, he tried to put those ‘concerns’ to rest.

“I’m fine. I’m just…tired.”

“And aggressive.” Afua shot back. Her smile withered into a frown at his indifferent attitude, unable to understand its origins.

His expression hardened at her words. Afua inhaled then decided to move the subject. She wasn’t going to get answers with him like this. Feeling her fingers brush a letter’s corner, her head tilted down. She gripped the unopened envelope in hand then curiously examined it. It was a familiar address, one of the Royal Blood’s lucrative business fronts, causing her to comment on its existence.

“The Royal Bloods…contacted you recently?”

Darius accepted her change of subject without resistance. His hand plucked the letter from her grip then shoved it into the top drawer. It slapped shut, keeping it out of her reach.

“Yes.”

“Over?”

“It seems the Serpientes de Ouroboros have been intruding on their territory, more aggressively than normal. I’ve been requested to deal with it personally…”

“You’ve gotta be shitting me…what have the frots done this time?”

“Assaulted one of their people and nearly killed them, attempting to frame me.”

“Oh, the little bastards. I assume you clarified things with McCarthy”

“Of course. We are in still in good terms, and he knows it wouldn’t benefit me to ruin that.”

“I hate to be them when he gets his hands on them… They would be better off dead. How did he handle the news of his man?”

“Badly. I managed to dissuade him from tearing apart the Entertainment District, mostly by reminding him whose territory it was. A bloodbath is the last thing I want to clean up. Especially before the gala event tomorrow.”

“It might be happening so soon?” Afua asked shock spread along her face.

It made sense, she shortly realized, since it happened the same time every year. Seeing Darius’ displeasure at her slip up, she avoided eye contact as she pushed forward slightly.

Darius leaned back in his chair, moving on.

“Yes. This had been prearranged for nearly a month now.”

Afua’s sarcasm poisoned her otherwise earnest compliment. “They have such lovely timing.”

She stepped toward the cabinet, noting the unused coffee maker. Her eyes glanced back to him for permission. Darius gave a small nod causing her to crouched down. She began to search the cabinet’s lower storage, then considered something.

“The club’s grand opening is tonight, are you going? Are you considering it at least?”

From her peripheral vision, she caught the change in his image. A sorrow wove within Darius’ body language. It screamed in the little ticks of his ears, whiskers and even in the small way his posture lowered at her words. She had grown up to read these painful signs. It all added up to regret.

“I am, but… I’m debating on if I should skip it.”

“Why?”

“Personal reasons.”

Her hand slapped the mug down, causing them to clatter. She turned to face him with heavy sensation building in her core. Afua wasn’t about to ignore this as she studied him a moment.

“Darius, are you alright? Honestly. You’ve been acting rather… strange, especially lately. Forgetting brief snippets of conversations and your aggressiveness. This might be not like you.”

Instinctively, her lithe legs strode across the distance. Her palm pressed against Darius’ forehead. Disappointed at the lack of a fever, she bit the side of her mouth and sought another reason. She backed away once more.

“Maybe I should schedule another appointment with M’ve or see if Mr. Taeryn might have something.”

“I doubt M've will find anything, he hasn’t yet during the last two examinations. Nabriales, I rather not owe a favor to or waste his time.” Darius’ tone seemed resigned in his current condition, a fact that didn’t sit well with Afua.

“Do you have any idea of what might be causing it?”

“Stress, I hope. It’s the only different factor in the last three months. The other explanation is one that I seriously fear the most. If it’s true, no one could help me.”

Darius’ eyes averted from hers, lowering to his desk. His hand folded underneath his muzzle as he became lost in thought.

“I’m currently considering upgrading the security system and have a few of your eyes infest my home.”

Afua’s jaw nearly dropped.

“What? You’re not serious, are you baas? You can’t stand the scent of the better ones… why do you think this is a good idea?”

“Afua, I’m missing an hour of time now. What happens when it becomes more? I need someone I can trust to inform me about what happened during that missing time and prevent any problems.”

Those words promptly silenced her. Right now, she wanted to just beat the living daylights from his very being. This was absurd. The whole plan was, but the face he displayed nailed her heart deeply. The pain spread and burned until she could no longer stand it.

“Fine, but let it be on record I don’t like this. If it might be stress, this just makes it more important to go to the club’s opening. You need a break from all this.” Afua gestured to the desk and its contents.

Darius seemed unpersuaded by her display causing the necromancer to sigh. Realizing this conversation was hitting a dead end fast, Afua moved toward the door.

“At least consider it?”

She let her last words linger in the air before she vanished out the room. Maybe she wasn’t the only one to notice or be willing to fix it.
<Snipped quote by Fallenreaper>

LE GASP!!! HOW DARETH THEE!!! *smacks with white glove* I take great offense ser, great offense indeed!

Lol but in all reality, having an angry lil bager makes things more interesting, doesnt it though? It'd be no fun without her highlighting an extreme angry-fright reaction. Like everyone else should feel safe too. 'If Bodil can get away with (insert action or words here) then they wont kill me over this...right? Yeah, totally. Okay cool. I feel a bit safer.'

*notes white glove phases right through her face!* Bwhahaa!

It does and a perfect lesson of 'what not to do' in the Fae world. Personally, Noah's over-cautious which as Runic might learn later, it's not as easy to drag him into mischief as she thought. Hehee.
Alright, @Belle, breathe. Now do me a favor, place yourself outside your character when you reread the post. Read it from a reader’s point of view, not the one writing it. This might help the anxiety some.

I feel, in your panic, you’re forgetting a few key elements in rp. The OOC where GMs and players can set up situations to assist, hinder or purely interact with each other. You’re already feeling trapped by your character’s own limitations, so here’s the questions that should come to mind: What about other characters? Who might’ve seen/heard/learned about this situation my character is in? How could they help/get involved?

No single character is going to be able to always get out of every danger (minor or major) that arises in rp.

This is a fact. That's when you need to contact and talk with others over the OOC to resolve it. One example is the one below:

Though it’s not on the OOC (I used Discord), I was having issues during the rp in getting Noah to interact and talk with others. In order to address this, I talked with Angel over how to solve this. That’s how the first collab with Vae was born. Unlike a novel, you’re not alone in solving problems that arise in a rp and you should consider using that to your full, reasonable advantage. It might not turn out as well as you’re hoping, but it doesn’t make it a bad scene or addition to your story. You might even find a new side to your character you never realized existed until certain conditions happened.

So relax Belle, I know anxiety is not going to help at all. You'll be alright hun. We humans got to stick together after all. ^-^

Lol the gm wouldnt just kill someone over something like that! Gms always ask and give explinations of their choices through pm (or so ive experienced).

Plus Lady Rune is cool. She wpuldnt kill someone right out the gate. And if she did, Bodil is first in line probably lololoool

I'm ashamed to say... I'm so surprised she's lasted this long.

When Odette’s attention turned to the Dover twins, the tension in Ben’s muscles evaporated away. His bristled hairs began to lower, then smooth out. No longer appearing spiky. With a bored small huff, he flopped himself down. He never felt the chill past his fur coat while the aggression in his figure died. Still, his ears remained erect and alert.

Casually his head flipped back and forth to catch any little sound. Benjamin’s jaws widened into a yawn. At the end, he licked across his black, drying nose. His saliva dampened it, both easing the cracking and enhanced his scent of smell.

Several aromas hit his flaring nostrils. They tingled there while he identified each one, all associated with an individual or thing in his memory. The scent of thawing meat caused his mouth to salivate as his stomach rumbled. He hadn’t fully satisfied his hunger. Noting this, his eyes drifted to the tempting source. Grudgingly, he sat upright long enough to snatch one off the edge.

Something thin and see-through plastic coated the would-be meal. Irritated by the extra work, Benjamin snorted. His claws sliced through the thin barrier then his teeth sank into the bloody meat. Iron bleed into his tongue, drawing his hunger closer to the surface. The tougher meat fell to his penetrating canines as he ripped off large chunks, then slipped down his throat.

His peace was soon interrupted by Ji. Every one of Ji’s movements was locked in frustration and anger when she waltzed over to them. This drew his eyes to snap in her direction. A deep, unyielding desire to protect Marie powered his legs into standing. A low, warning growl vibrated in his throat at the older wolf. Fur bristled slightly across his spine when she spoke.

"You have any idea what Ben and you did?!"

Any additional conversation was interrupted when several human scents caught his nose. A loud, heavy ting echoed throughout the building. Followed by a drawn hiss as a canister rolled into sight. White smoke billowed from its end. In moments, it began to engulf the store.

Bang…Bang! Guns fired off.

It was followed by screams and blood, the scene flooded with chaos. Heat, fueled by the need to protect, poured into his muscles. A deep, threatening growl rumbled through Benjamin’s chest.

His nose inhaled caught the foreign scents of his intending quarry. Fur bristled across his figure as his eyes shot to Ji, an acknowledgment only she would recognize. Without a single word, he bolted into the smoke. His steps determined and with purpose as he lowered his body onto all four at the nearest man.
