King Rufus

Deep within the depths of Hell, a king sat impatient upon his sofa. He'd been mulling over whether or not he should respond to the letter resting atop his arm rest, and ultimately decided that the rewards out weighed the potential costs of losing all the note worthy demons that actually made a difference in the battles. He knew that Eos and Deva were having thoughts to similar to his own, and didn't doubt that they'd be answering the letters themselves sooner or later.

"Too bad I'm not invited. Would have been fun..." Rufus muttered to himself with a weary shake of his head. There'd been enough dawdling. Now was the time for action. The King of Hell rose and swept his arm across the grand hall that was his throne room, countless ripples tearing their way open into the empty space to display the forms of the player characters most accomplished demons in his army. They in turn could see him, and if they wished could walk through the portal and arrive in the throne room before him.

His eyes narrowed before closing the one to Victoire, knowing the hell hound stealing succubus was busy breaking in a new servant from the Machina's ranks. Coincidentally, the portal Rufus opened blocked Sliske's view of the rampaging Angels in the camp.

"Attention, my oh so loyal and not the least bit treacherous subjects, I bring word of the next matter that requires your attention. Rejoice, for each Demon that answers my call stands to make tremendous personal gains from a being more generous then I, on top of aiding the faction, if they are successful." Rufus raised up the letter for all to see. "If you accept, then the contents of this letter will detail your mission. This is not a conflict for territory, but a test of skill between the factions. Ahem, the letter reads in a rather condescending tone, so bear with it."

Greetings, Esteemed Rulers of the Nexus.

I believe you know what this missive is about, after your most recent "assessment session". Nevertheless, I'll explain in in case of your brains not being able to piece it together.

It's about time to put your developments to test. Fear not, however, for I was the one chose to do this evaluation. If you pass, I'll give you a "special gift" but if you fail... Well, you already know it, don't you?

The process will be simple enough. A game, if you want to call it that way. Send your forces to my laboratory, whoever is the first to overcome all the "challenges" I have set, will come out the victor. Just don't think that it'll be easy, because there's nothing I love more than a fresh batch of guinea pigs ready to be worked with.

With my most courteous feelings;

Hohenheim, The Alchemist of Genesis.

The King of Hell let the air hang silent with a scowl on his face, no doubt letting those disapproving of Rufus' reign have their laugh at his expense. When he was satisfied he raised a silver disk which was included with the letter.

"This letter was sent to the other leaders who are no doubt having similar conversations with their subordinates. If all those participating would step through their portal, I will transport them to the sight of the challenge using this device, as even I do not know where it is to take place. From there, it is believed Hohenheim will elaborate on the challenge itself, so keep your wits about you and don't be stupid."

"For this task, you will have no outside support from me, and that is the same with the others. Any cannon fodder is what you bring yourself, and don't expect retreat to be an option here either. It's succeed, or wind up on a slab facing devil knows what kind of horrors Hohenheim can whip up, so decide things carefully."

"I won't keep these portals open indefinitely, but if you need to grab any armaments, then now is the time to prepare yourself before coming forward.

Writing the post to start the next round right now, actually. Give me a few hours and it will be up.

And Shinji and Warhammer 40k doesn't need you to know a lick about it. I didn't know any Warhammer either, but it does a good job of explaining as Shinji is discovering the franchise himself
@KoL Is 30 meters good enough?

And I thought I was the only one who knew about it! It was really fun no?

<Snipped quote by Lonewolf685>

It was a fun fic. Too bad it went unfinished. Did you read "Shinji and Warhammer 40K"? I loved how that was an unorthodox crossover, as it was using the Warhammer fiction, toys, and the Tone to influence a young Shinji into turning the world upside down with awesome, rather then actual Space Marines and Orks dropping into Evangelion.
Richard Montag

Time passed, revelries concluded, and it came to pass that the Master's and Servants were gathered to fulfill their actual purpose in journeying to the Wizard Marshall's secluded estate. The palatial accommodations sturdy enough to survive the antics of competitive Servants were worth admiration, and they would likely be spending a good deal of time indulging in them when they weren't off on missions, so there would be ample time to converse with spirits from ages past at a later date.

Zelretch explained to them the two destinations laid out before them and their minds could fill in many of the blanks off their names alone. "A choice between Danes or the land of a Demi-God? Aren't those some interesting choices."

Considering the dapper nature shared between Assassin and his Master, it was safe to say neither of them were very well acquainted with the regions they would travel to, at least on a first hand basis. It wasn't like Richard could go to Iraq and say he was now accustomed to the terrain once he went 3500 years into the past, and he had as of yet to form an meaningful attachment to any magus families in the Baltics that would require an in depth knowledge of the regions history.

"Hmm, I suppose if we have no advantage over either destination, we may as well choose the more refined and exotic locale. How do you feel about seeing what the King of Uruk built, Assassin?"

Tamamo No Mae

"Excellent choice, Master! Our meeting has been blessed with fortune beyond compare on this day!" Tamamo cheered, finding her exuberance actually had to raise in order to match that of her Master's. Her tail joyously thumbed against the chair upon finding her Master was more free spirited then what the Grail had her believe a modern mage would act, a pleasant sign for building any relationship. Thinking on that, Himiko seemed the same way once Tama peered beyond her regal veneer, so it wasn't a stretch to think this was a commonality between magi. Some were just more willing to conceal it then others.

A quirk of the ears had her turn and see Ravel suggesting they follow Seyrun to Scandanavia as well, and there was even a warrior in attention grabbing gold armor to serve as the bulwark to the arcane duo. A few others were voicing interest in the old North, but Tamamo was already up out of her seat and endeavoring to drag Seyrun over to the adorably fitting pair of Ravel and Himiko.

"Your Master is very wise, Himiko. Scandanavia won't stand a chance against our combined arms. Like the Sumazu of old we shall cry out as one-!" Caster said, throwing a mock punch towards the mystical relic that would send them on their way. "Chesto!"

Margarita Reynard

It had taken more time then she'd have thought necessary to herd Caster into the meeting room and get her to stay seated through the entire presentation, but Margarita could breathe easy now that their courses lay open before them and things could progress in a manner she was more familiar with handling. Caster was an endearing child, and it was difficult to keep from ruffling her hair when she had her earnest ramblings, but all things had to conclude eventually.

Feeling a bit of the old French pride welling in her breast, Margarita found herself drawn to the idea of dealing with the Scandinavians. Their magic would be no where near the terror that the Babylonia team would face, and a Caster with this much support would have an easier time dealing with monsters and enemy Servants of the Baltic region if they played their cards.

"Faust dear, were going to go with the Scandinavian team, so stay close to me, okay?"

Even a Servant with E-rank strength was stronger then the average human, Margarita wanted to say by a factor of 10, but it wouldn't hurt to support Caster as best she could. At the very least she could carry Faust while she focused on her drawings.

@VitaVitaAR

@Lmpkio
And yeah, you have my approval.
Also just to clarify. Yes, this is the same design as Zeruel from Neon Genesis Evangelion, more specifically in the Rebuild movies. Yes, does he have similar powers to said anime counterpart.

But no, the two aren't identical. He has been changed to fit the RP as I used to have him in a previous RP. He is also based of an Evangelion fanfiction named "Nobody Dies" (its pretty good), in which Zeruel in that fanfic is a god damn badass who is also based off the Reapers Harbinger and Sovereign from the Mass Effect series.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Damn it, you had to mention Nobody Dies. I miss that fic...well, before that ass pull 'The last 25 chapters were all a dream!' bit. Everything in the dream and before it were a fun roller coaster ride.
Will try and get a post today or tomorrow. Just a bit bogged down with every RP I'm in getting active all at once.

Wait, who do the angels have who is + sized?

Torag. He doesn't have the size of Graf, but his lich state and magic power makes him a powerhouse in his own right. He's just blessed with a personality that doesn't suit berserker style fighting, so he hasn't gone toe to toe with Graf yet.
@Lonewolf685

Yes, but unless we're keeping an arbitrary score of who won "battles" (which I totally wouldn't put past joker-man), the Angels enjoyed none of the actual fruits of their victory for the continuation of the war.

We are counting the victor of battles. Just because they lost the spoils doesn't mean they didn't win in the first place. Even if what they had was wasted, it still deprived their enemies of the chance to use those resources properly in the first place.
@Mega Birb
Machina: 1.5
Heaven: 0
Hell: .5

Machina has Bastion, and the majority of the Ruthuria loot. There's only been two battles worth of treasure, but we've fought over it three times. The Heaven's one win was immediately reversed.

Heaven still won the Battle, so it counts on their record.

The Score is an even tie. Demons won the first round, Heaven won the second, and Machina were the cleanest victors of the Third.
