Do not let loneliness make you forget your chains. Allowing someone back into your life who disrespected you is a disrespect to the old you who suffered.. remember that.

It seemed everyone else was busy making their own decisions on what they wanted to do while Daniel's mind was already made. He slipped his way through the crowds till he was standing in the line at Southern Momma's Funnel Cakes, preoccupied with the menu as he looked it over with a small smile pulling at the corners of his lips. There really wasn't a point in looking the menu over. The boy knew what he wanted. Classic funnel cake with powder and fresh strawberries on the side. None of that fake strawberry syrup bullshit. That stuff always ruined it for him.

With his focus no longer on the menu, Daniel's eyes wandered over the crowd of people walking around a bit in an attempt to spot the group he'd slipped away from before coming back around to look over the few people in line in front of him. One, in particular, stood out as this morning's attendance - that he was barely paying attention to in the first place till the name was called - flooded back into his mind. He'd heard a name being called that he hadn't heard in a little over 7 years, at least not in the classrooms. Charlotte Thorne, an old friend from elementary school. He'd meant to catch her outside of the classroom but decided not to just ambush her on their way to the assembly. Of course, he'd got distracted from then till now.. but of course, where should he have expected her to go but to a truck that sold sweets of some kind? Some things never changed.

Daniel leaned around the kid in front of him, quietly reassuring him that he wasn't trying to cut but was addressing a friend and gently tugging on Charlotte's shirt sleeve. The boy cleared his throat and raised a brow as he spoke up to his childhood friend. Part of him wanted to make up some cheesy greeting with the old nick he'd given her as kids, but nothing was coming to him then, so instead, he just settled on one of her better-known nicknames and a charming, friendly smile.

"Long time no see, Charlie."

There was so much going on. Of course, when you were people-watching from a high point, there was much to see. It didn't take long for the space around him to become a bit more occupied than he'd hoped for. A girl who he only knew by two things - her first name and her trans status - was crying her way up the bleachers, curling up at the end just a few steps down from him. From what it seemed, the girl was crying. Her shoulders were trembling but even from the few steps up, he couldn't hear any audible sound coming from her. Ezra sat there staring at the girl with a look of what some would think, had they caught him staring, was disgust or judgment. Though neither of these was it. The boy suffered from a severe case of resting-dick-face. Something he couldn't really help.

Ezra looked around them, wondering to himself if he was the only one seeing this and if not, why no one was approaching her. The more time that passed, the more Ezra began to feel almost guilty for not getting up to check on her. Emotions and shit of that nature really weren't his forte, and thinking about it now, there was really no reason for him to be feeling the way he was. Guilty? For what..? He didn't owe her anything. What was she crying for on the first day, anyway? Supéralo.

“Sup Benny, fashionably late as always?" It took hearing Demoin's voice to pull his eyes up from Kaylen, tilting his head up at his friend as he approached and greeted him with a quick five, leaning back up against the chainlink fence. "Last year dealing with this place, you gonna help me throw some of the best parties known to man, this year?”

The boy's lips curled up in a bit of a smirk, nodding. "The Devil of Delbrook's gotta have his demon to do his bidding, doesn't he? I'll provide everything you need, man. This year is ours."

Movement a few steps down pulled his attention once more, seeing a notable face approaching Kaylen. Cassian. Good company, but one of his dealing rivals. The boy had nothing but respect for the kid, though. His sister was sure fine. Hell, they both were, if he was being honest... but you don't lay with your enemy, no matter how fine. Ezra watched Cass with Kaylen for a moment longer before turning his gaze back on Allister, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, hands clasped together in front of him.

"Speaking of parties. Our birthday. Halloween. We doin' up a Haunted House? Give estas pequeñas mierdas something to remember us by, besides our 'best parties known to man'."

“..which one of you is first..? I can’t hold it open forever…”

Brandon's eyes wandered over the others in the large room, about to volunteer himself before he heard Tyler speak up, dragging Carlos along with him. Bran almost thought Tyler would shove Carlos through the portal, as it was something he expected of the mischievous boy, but he didn't. He let him go, encouraged Carlos to follow after him, and said his farewells to Erin. Or at least that's what he imagined the boy said, as he didn't speak to Erin in English or Greek, but rather the boy's native tongue. Part of the son of Ares wondered if Erin even understood what he'd said. Surely he'd clarify later. Not that it concerned Brandon much on the matter.

Just as soon as Tyler disappeared into the folds of darkness, Carlos seemed to eagerly follow after his friend. The two always seemed to have their own way of going through the world. Everything was an adventure that they always seemed eager to begin. In a way, Brandon envied them. Much to Brandon's dismay, his thirst for adventure had been snuffed out years ago. He only ever saw quests as a job. Something to get done as quickly as possible put it in the past, and forget about it. This time was much different than the other quests he'd been on, though. He'd never let on about or admit to it, but for the first time in a very long time, Brandon Murphy was afraid. Not for himself, but for someone else. His best friend.

Brandon was pulled from his thoughts as he heard Zeru speak up, another figure becoming one with the darkness as he too stepped through the portal of shadows. All that left standing in the room were Erin, Ezra, and himself. Bran wished he had something to say. Something inspiring, to maybe help her get through the portal herself. The girl hadn't left camp since they'd first arrived just over four years ago, and now she was being forced to go halfway across the world... across an entire ocean, just to capture and return some stupid bird his father's mistress couldn't keep her bitch hands on. The young man stepped forward, shaking the thoughts circling his head as he walked over to Erin, wrapping his hand around the back of her head to bring her closer, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.

"Come on. Let's get this over with," he muttered softly, giving her a half-smile before dropping his hand to turn to the portal, casting one last glance over his shoulder before walking forward into the wall of darkness.

Six. Five. Four. Three...

The two of them stood there in long silence for several moments, both seeming to hesitate to break it, but Ezra took the initiative and broke his hold on her shoulders to step around to look at her.

"I'm going to come through with you... if there comes a time you need help, though I hope you won't, I'll have somewhere to start."

Ezra's eyes flicked over to the cabin door, almost hoping to see Spencer McKnight come walking through it to make a last-minute entrance, but the longer he stood, the more it was made clear he either wasn't coming or he was going to make his own way. Part of him hoped it was the latter, but he didn't know the guy very well and couldn't speak on his behalf. Though, from what he had witnessed of the young man, it was pretty clear he seemed indebted to Erin for saving him from the clutches of Tartarus. Ezra never did hear the full story. Instead of bringing attention to the no-show, Ezra's olive eyes fell back down on the girl before him, holding out his hand for her to take.

"Do you remember what I told you we tell the god of Death when he comes calling?"

The son of Poseidon hadn't made it very far from the group before he could feel a change in the air. A feeling that made the hairs on his arms and the back of his neck stand on end. Grey tried to ignore the feeling and pushed his way further towards the cabins until he heard shouting, and the unmistakable sound of thunder crashing down into the ground behind him. The young man whipped around to see a girl with a thunderbolt hovering above her head. Another Zeus child. But how? Both Zeru and Levina were still in the camp. Zeru was going with Erin and Levina had just been called this morning. Unless Levina's summoning was for something else entirely, and she was no longer going to be staying in the camp. A light frown cast over Poseidon's son's features as he stood there looking at the new daughter of Zeus, contemplating whether he wanted to spend the time storming himself over there to see what was up. A soft, familiar voice broke his concentration.

"Grey!"

The boy's posture immediately relaxed as his eyes turned to find his sister approaching him, letting go of the hefty sigh he hadn't realized he was holding in until then. He was glad to see his sister. It meant he got to say bye before he left on his quest. Not that he was afraid he wouldn't return, but things were never certain with the lives of the gods' children. Their lives were always in danger from the moment they set foot outside of the camp. A soft smile crept at the boy's lips, closing the distance between himself and his dear sister, wrapping her up in a warm hug.

"Immy," he greeted her, speaking in a soft tone before pulling back from their embrace to again look into her eyes. "Everything okay?"

Being one of the better-skilled blacksmiths in the camp, some would even go as far as to say the best though Hayden would disagree, it was expected of Hayden to work through most of the day in the forge. There were a couple of days through the week where he was able to pass on the work to one of his siblings so he could spend time to himself, which either consisted of working the horses or spending time with Issie in what little free time he seemed to have anymore. He seemed to be late for more and more these days. Something that he truly couldn't stand was going back on his word, even if it was something as simple as a lunch date with his girl. What was a Norseman without his word? It was said that if a Norseman, a Viking, took an oath and went back on his word that his sword would turn against him and incur the wrath of the gods. Hayden prayed to both the Greek and Norse gods that wouldn't happen to him. He was trying, after all.

Hayden had spent the better half of another hour in the forge working on that sword he'd been mending when he and Issie last spoke out by the lake. Finally coming to a point with it that he was happy with it, the son of Hephaestus returned the sword to the son of Ares who'd brought it to him earlier that day and rushed himself to his cabin to get a quick shower in. Fresh from the shower with some fresh casual clothes thrown on, Hayden hurried over to Isaura's cabin hoping she didn't hate him for being as late as he was. His girlfriend had a forgiving nature when it came to most things, especially with him, though at times he felt terribly undeserving of it. The son of fire and the daughter of ice, it was as if the two were destined for disaster from the start.

"Min Bedre Halvdel," Hayden called out as he approached the cabin door, rapping his knuckles against the hardwood a few times before stepping back, waiting for her to come to the door. At one time he would have just walked in, but with Isaura's sister Astrid around these days, boundaries were a thing to remember when it came to the Khione cabin. Even if Astrid held no love or respect for him, Hayden tried to be as respectful of Issie's sister as possible, strictly for Issie's sake.

After standing there for several minutes in silence as the lady behind the desk typed away at her computer finishing up some email she had said was urgent before writing Davina her late pass to class, Davina could hear her step-father shift beside her. His voice was practically in her ear as he muttered, "You're late." A small smirk spread across the girl's face as she lifted her head from her folded arms she'd had it buried on the counter before her, raising her brow at him. There were plenty of movies that they loved quoting, and many that had the lines 'you're late' in them, but it was more than obvious which one he was referencing this time. They quoted Lord of the Rings too often for her not to. A soft giggle escaped her as she gave the attendance lady a glance before looking back to Marcus.

"A witch is never late, Marcus. Nor is she early. She arrives precisely when she means to!" The two exchanged a chuckle, growing quiet as the woman who had promised to help them rose from her seat and walked over to them, holding out a small square paper to Davina.

"Here you go, hun. You're all set!"

"Thank you," Davina said almost in sync with her step-dad, walking ahead of him for a short moment before she felt her hood being brought over her face, blinding the girl as she laughed while fighting to get her hood up and off her head. By the time she did, Marcus had taken the lead and opened one of the doors for his step-daughter, allowing her to step through before doing so himself and letting the door close behind him. The two turned towards each other and Dav quickly held up a hand to stop him when it looked as though Marcus was going to try to step in and give the girl a hug.

"You know I hate hugs, dad."

The man chuckled, dropping his hands to his sides before slipping them into his jeans pockets. "Yeah, yeah. You keep telling me." He cast a look over his shoulder at his car that was parked out front before turning his eyes back on Davina. "I'll have your bike looked at. Should be good to go by tomorrow so you can get to school on your own."

Davina smiled softly at him, nodding. "Thanks, dad."

A small silence sat between them a few moments before Marcus shifted in his stance, tilting his head. "Will you be going to The Center after school?"

"Yeah, probably. I'll ask someone for a ride, though. Shouldn't be hard to find one. Got a few friends who have their own cars. I'll be fine."

"Call or text if anything changes, alright?"

Davina smirked slightly, half-ass saluting Marcus. "You got it."

With that, she turned around to head towards the lacrosse field, pulling her phone out to type a message to her bestie K.C.

"Parece que te pusiste algo de color durante el verano, gringa."

The familiar voice caught her attention as she clicked her phone off. There was only one person she knew who called her 'gringa'. Of course, he always assured her he meant it as a term of endearment. Whether Davina actually believed Benny was another story. The girl rolled her eyes, bringing them up to meet with his as she closed the distance between them, eventually walking side-by-side to the lacrosse field together.

"Hello to you too, Ezra. And yeah, I did. Burnt myself a few times at the beach over the summer."

"Mm. If you weren't so damn whitewashed, you wouldn't burn so easily, now would ya?" Ezra smirked slightly, keeping his gaze ahead of them as the two walked together, making their way up the path between the auditorium and the 400 building. It was always a peaceful walk through there. The tall trees that covered the path in a nice shade always seemed welcoming. It was the spot where Ezra had first started hanging out when he arrived at the school till he quickly realized that a lot of the weird band geeks hung out there at lunchtime. The boy quickly found himself a new place to escape during lunch hour.

"It actually usually takes me being out in the sun all day for me to get burnt. I could be out in the sun for a couple of hours and be just fine. The girl shrugged beside him, kicking a small stick off the path into the dirt as they walked. Ezra just nodded, not really having anything to say in reply to that. The two never really talked that much, but were friendly enough they could hold small conversations. That's about all they were good for. That, and Ezra occasionally copying her History or English homework. The two students stepped out from the shadows with the sun's rays beating down on them as they swerved through the bungalows and slipped out onto the lacrosse field where the festivities were taking place. A sea of students and a handful of teachers scattered around, some clumped together in groups as they all pushed past each other to get to where they were going.

Ezra stopped at the edge of the field and let Davina disappear off into the crowd, stuffing his hands into his jacket pocket as he looked over the crowd of people. He'd forgotten to grab his wallet on his way out this morning. His stomach growled and his mouth watered as he took in all the smells coming from the carnival, clenching his jaw in frustration at himself as he finally forced himself forward towards the bleachers. The boy climbed up a couple of rows before taking a seat against the end, resting his head against the side of the bleachers as he overlooked everything, swallowing hard as his mouth continued to water nonstop.

Pushing her way out from the 300 building's glass double doors, glancing over at the front gate desk where Jordy sat, offering a friendly smile and a wave to the young man before letting herself into the front office. Sam gave a slight nod to the front desk attendant and student aid as she carried herself down the hall to the nurse's office, popping her head in, opening her mouth to say something but the nurse, Miss Catelyn, beat her to it.

"First day, barely even the second hour in and you're already trying to get out of it, eh?"

Sam smiled kindly at the woman and shook her head, looking around the office before returning her gaze to the nurse. "Actually looking for a friend of mine who wasn't feeling well, was just seeing if she came here or not. Sasha Lopez?"

"Unfortunately dear, I'm afraid your friend's not here. The only visitors I've had today have been a couple of ninth-year boys. I'm sorry."

Sam nodded, sighing softly as she stepped away to begin heading off before stopping herself, returning to the doorway with an apologetic, rather sheepish grin. "Thank you." The brunette headed back up the hallway she'd come from, again passing by the front desk as she pushed her way back out into the fresh air just as she felt a text roll in. Sam pulled her phone out and quickly unlocked it, checking the texts from her best friend. And a text from her boyfriend that she must have gotten while talking with the nurse. First, Sasha.

Sam stared down at the words on her phone screen for a minute, chewing at her lower lip deep in thought. Which one, Sash..? There are literally like twelve bathrooms on campus. Thinking about it a moment, Sam turned her head to glance up at the 300 building. There was a bathroom there, which would have been easy access from the 900 building bridge had Sasha taken the staircase she'd run into that boy Ezra at. There was also one in the hall of the 400 building just below the 900. The 400 building bathroom was closer, but... just in case.. Sam let herself into the 300 building and sped walk to the bathroom door, holding it open as she peeked in to call out to Sasha. The girl stood there a moment or two, and with no reply, she let go of the door and quickly made her way down to the other end of the hall to head across to the 400 bathroom.

Shit, Damien. Pulling her phone back out from her back pocket, Sam checked the couple of messages she had received from her lover, tapping out a quick reply as she passed through the open door into the 400 building.

Sam shoved the bathroom door open with her shoulder, rounding the corner to find her best friend Sasha standing in front of one of the sinks, eyes forward staring at herself in the mirror. "Hey, what's up?" From what little she could see of her face as she closed the distance between her and the other girl, it looked like she was about to be sick. It wasn't till Sam was standing right behind her that she realized Sasha had a pair of scissors in her one hand and a clump of hair in the other. Sam looked over her friend, noticing that she'd lopped off a good chunk of her long black hair. Her eyes found Sasha's in the mirror, seeing tears welling up in them, the picture before her was enough to break her heart.

"Hey! Sash. What's going on?" Sam stepped to her friend's side so she could get a direct look at her face instead of eyeing her in the mirror. She reached her hand up and rubbed Sasha's back comfortingly, trying to keep her expression neutral as to not make the situation any worse than it may be for Sasha at that moment.

"Okay Mister D, but I really think tha--" Slam. The door shut right in the satyr's face. With a heavy sigh, the young satyr turned away from the Big House. Before he could even set eyes on it, Sawyer caught the scent of fresh rain and could hear the pitter-patter of it hitting the ground. The weather was always sunny in camp, though..? It didn't take long for Sawyer's eyes to find the girl quite literally storming up the path, heading right for the group now dispersing from the Big House. The unfamiliar blond stopped only a few feet away before screaming something, something cut off by a rather large bolt struck down on the ground that forced a shrill bleat from the young satyr.

He rubbed at the back of his neck sheepishly after nearly jumping out of his own fur as he looked over at the girl who was clearly scared, stepping forward from the rest of the group that seemed to hold themselves back. Had he paid any more attention to anything or anyone but the girl in question, he might've actually laughed at the use of Violet's "Thunder Thighs" nick. Instead, the young satyr approached the blond girl very slowly, holding his hands out in front of him. As he drew closer, he noticed the symbol above her head appear. As if that wasn't obvious.

"Hey there. Don't think I've seen you around here. I'd make a wild guess and say you're new here, huh?" Sawyer stopped just a couple feet from her, slipping his hands into his pockets as he offered the girl a friendly smile. "There's no need to be a-.. uh..." The young satyr trailed off a moment, taking into account her emotional state, he didn't want to misspeak and become a fried goat. "-there's no need to be feeling anything except safe. You're in good hands, now. This is Camp Half-Blood, love. A place for all demi-gods and demi-goddesses. Th-the only way you can even enter the camp is if you are a demi-god yourself."

Gesturing to the symbol above her head with a point of his finger, the young satyr's eyes moved back from it to meet with her own again, holding her gaze still with a soft grin. "By the looks of it, you're a child of Zeus, love. I know that.. this is a lot to take in, but we're prepared to help you get through this and come to an understanding of who you truly are." Sawyer nervously scratched at the back of his calf with a hoof, his smile turning a bit sheepish as he shifted in place once both hooves were placed on the ground again. "I, uhm.. I'm Sawyer. One of the many satyrs you'll see around camp. What's your name, love?"

"I could go with a bite to eat. Passed on breakfast for a few extra minutes of sleep. Totally worth it." Of course he did. Danny couldn't blame him, though. The boys had talked about how the last week had been rough for him getting to sleep at night. After having Sam over to sleep beside him all summer long, then reverting back to sleeping alone.. it'd been hard for D, and he wasn't afraid to admit it to Daniel. He missed his girlfriend. Danny, of course, could sympathize.

"I can't believe you'd skip breakfast, Damien. Hey, any specific recommendations from Brandon?"

Daniel shot a half-smile Ruby's way as he opened his mouth to speak but heard a familiar voice behind him, stopping himself as he peered over his shoulder. "Hey guys, getting ready to sign-up for everything? It might be me but the carnival looks larger than usual." Aymeric. Danny tilted his head up in greeting to the boy, noticing that his words were more directed to the twins before turning back to address Ruby. "Well, actu-" It was then Danny realized Sawyer had been saying something behind him in response to Ruby, but it wasn't until he could feel Sawyer shove into his shoulder that he really noticed him. "Come on, please tell me they have some good barbecue or something."

Danny rolled his eyes and laughed, reaching over to shove back at the other boy. "I mean, if you let me talk a damn minute, I'd tell 'ya!" He shook his head, smirking as he glanced around at his friends that were now surrounding him.

"Hey." Daniel peaked over his shoulder to see Theo had joined the group, shooting a smile and a peace sign up at the boy. "Hey man," he spoke in quick greeting before turning back to Ruby to address her question as the group pushed through the other seniors on the field.

"Brandon always goes for turkey legs and the deep-fried Oreos when we go to any carnival. Personally, if I can find a food truck that does funnel cakes? I'm happy. A turkey leg does sound pretty good though." Danny side-eyed Sawyer, raising a brow at the boy. "And yes, they have a barbecue truck."

Daniel took a look around, his eyes grazing over all of the club booths as they migrated past them. Wonder who's working Sawyer's club booth, he thought to himself. He probably got some Junior to work it for him while he fooled around and ate his heart out. That boy was definitely food-motivated. When food was involved, it was like he had tunnel-vision. Though, Danny couldn't judge. As he caught a whiff of what he was pretty sure was funnel cake, his stomach rumbled furiously. His eyes scanned over the crowd of kids at the number of food trucks lined up along the back fence of the field, smiling as he landed on a small black trailer with orange signs and red lettering. Southern Momma's Funnel Cakes. 'Funnel cakes. Lemonade. Deep-fried Oreos'. Yes.

It had been an hour since he arrived and he'd been about 8 minutes too late to sneak in the front gate. In his haste out of the house, he'd forgotten his school I.D. on his desk - and to make everything worse, the security guard who'd been responsible for breaking up most of his fights the year before was the one sitting at the gate desk. If Ezra remembered correctly, the dude's name was Jordy - or something like that. Brody? Whatever. As easy as it would be for him to just go home and get the damn thing himself, the security guard insisted Ezra call his mother to bring it to him. So there Ezra sat on the curb with his helmet in his lap waiting for his mother to arrive. The sound of shuffling feet and the sounds of voices carrying over to him from behind the gate caught his attention, peaking over his shoulder to see a group of students filing into the 300 building. Just as the boy was turning back to face the street, he could see his mother's black Cadillac turning the corner before coming up the road. As she neared, Ezra stood himself up and dusted off his butt as he tucked his helmet up under one arm, stepping down into the street when she pulled up beside him.

"Aquí tienes, mi amor." She held out his school I.D. by the lanyard to him, holding her free hand up against her forehead to shade her eyes from the sun as she squinted up at him.

"Thanks, mom." A quick glance over his shoulder at the security guard, Ezra's eyes came back around to meet his mother's. "Odio este pinche lugar."

"Ey! Language." After Ezra muttered a quick apology, she simply nodded as she looked past her son at the man sitting at the gate desk. "It's one more year, mijo. Just get through it, mm?" She reached out and gently squeezed his arm before pulling back to roll the window up and drive off, leaving Ezra standing alone in the street. The boy stood there watching his mother's car pull around the corner at the opposite end of the school she came from until the car was out of sight, turning back towards the gate as he shuffled his way to the security guard's desk to hold up his I.D.

"A'my good to go in, now?" The boy's tone dripped with venom, he didn't care much if he came off as rude or disrespectful. The guard's eyes tilted up towards him, looking back and forth between the I.D. card and the boy a couple times before he sat back into his chair, folding his arms over his chest.

"You know you're late, right?" As much as Ezra was sure he was trying to hold it back, he could just barely make out a smirk tugging at the corners of the guy's lips. The boy's jaw clenched before dropping open slightly, his tongue pressing to the inside of his cheek before trailing the inner lining of his lower lip. Ezra closed his mouth shut just as he let out a hefty sigh through his nose, side-eying the guard with what could only be described as pure exasperation. You gotta be fucking kidding me.

"My mom's already gone, bro. What do you want me to do?!" The two stood there a few moments in a silent stand-off. The guard shifted in his seat before shaking his head, turning back to his monitor.

"Don't make a habit of it. Git' goin', kid. Before I change my mind."

Ezra scoffed softly as he pushed past the front gate, almost literally biting his tongue to keep from saying anything in reply to the guy. The boy pulled at the glass door that lead into the 300 building, taking the stairs to the second floor before rounding the corner before running smack dab into someone. Ezra stepped back and looked the girl over. She looked familiar. Loud girl, always had a camera around her neck. He couldn't remember her name, but he remembered her from the year before when she was a T.A. for the Spanish class he took with Ms. Goldman to get an easy A in a language class. The boy sighed softly, slipping past the girl with a gentle 'Sorry,' muttered just loud enough for her to hear. He was about to push his way through the second set of glass doors that lead across the bridge to the 900 building till he heard her voice call after him from behind.

"Ezra, right?"

Ezra turned to face the girl, his hand still holding onto the door's bar handle. "I prefer Benny, but yeah."

"Right. I remember you from last year. I heard Goldman call your name earlier when she was taking attendance. Don't bother going to the room, the class is down at the lacrosse field." The girl turned and rounded the corner to head down the staircase, ultimately disappearing from sight. The boy nodded to himself as he pushed his way out of the glass doors before taking a hard right down the staircase, heading down the walkway beside the 300 building towards the auditorium and 800 building where he'd hang a left and head off towards the lacrosse field to join the rest of his class.

"Soy. Sawyer! ..come on, man, get up."

With a sharp inhale, Sawyer sat upright in bed and slapped the hands on his shoulders away. Slowly forced his eyes open to then rub the sleep from them, glaring up at his brother.

"Dude, what? I have a fuckin alarm set, what do you-"

"Clearly you snoozed it. A few times. You definitely won't have time to shower, sis. Get your ass up, I'm leaving in 10."

Sawyer watched as his brother walked out of his bedroom and snatched his phone from off his nightstand, checking the time to be sure that Gavin wasn't just fucking with him on their first day of senior year. Nope. It was 6:27. He could run through a quick shower and still have time. No sweat.

Plugging his phone into the charger before heading into the shower, he made it out with three minutes to spare, quickly toweling off and tugging on his jeans, black Vessi's, and lacrosse jersey. Snagging his hat and house keys off his nightstand, he tossed his keys into his backpack with his hydro flask and school I.D. already in it before swinging the strap over his shoulder. Sawyer stopped in his doorway and turned back into his room to dart back for his phone pulling it from the charger to stash into his pocket. Soy snagged his cologne off of his dresser and sprayed some on over the front of his body as he walked, tossing the container back onto his bed as he peeled around the door jam and ran downstairs shaking out his damp hair.

Fucker better not have left without me, he thought to himself, waving to his mother who was enjoying a cup of coffee in the kitchen as he attempted to slip out the front door, but his mother's voice caught his ear just before shutting the door behind him.

"Wait a minute! Can't I get a picture of you boys on your first day of your last year of high school?"

Sawyer groaned softly to himself and ran a hand through his hair, stepping back through the threshold and closed the door behind him before heading into the kitchen. Gavin was standing at the other end searching through the cabinet, probably for a granola bar.

"Oh come on, you two. Stand together and let me get a snap of you."

Sawyer clenched his jaw lightly and did as his mom asked, sighing heavily. If there was one thing he couldn't refuse, it was doing things to make his mother happy. After the photo was taken, both the boys laughed and shoved at each other before making their way out the front door with their mother trailing them right on their heels to the garage.

While Sawyer walked he was looking over his shoulder trying to listen to the small talk his twin and mother were having, causing him to run directly into something. His arm immediately shot out to balance the thing - now facing said thing he'd knocked into, he realized it was his good friend and neighbor, Eretria Simmons - a soft apologetic smile spread across his face as his hand dropped away from her.

"Sorry. Hey Trey.. what are yo-" Before he could get another word in, his mother came up beside the two of them and wrapped her arms around the girl.

"Oh, sweetheart, hello! And good morning." Mrs. Lockwood gently let Eretria go, smiling at the girl. "You and the boys share any classes this year? They haven't told me a thing about their schedules." She eyed both her boys with narrowed eyes teasingly.

"So far, mom, the only class I know that we - well, I - share with Tria is homeroom. Gavin got stuck in Ms. Stoldt's class for his," Sawyer chuckled softly, knowing all too well Gavin had never liked her when he had her sophomore year for Earth Science.

Beautiful.

That was the only way she could think to describe the morning thus far without delving further into the rabbit hole that was the English language. And it was, indeed, such a deep and confusing place to be. Especially when it was still early like this. Bottom line was, it was the perfect day for them to be going back for their senior year at Delbrook. And, if tradition held strong - which she was pretty damn sure it would - Sawyer would be running late. Again. Letting out a sigh, content, Eretria shifted slightly in her position. Resting comfortably back against the seat of her motorbike as she waited for her best friend to make his appearance. Though she had a feeling she wasn't going to be left waiting for too much longer. A theory that was proven correct only a few moments later when he came bustling out of the front door, mom and brother in tow, only to then collide against her.

Shooting her best friend a smile that only grew at the warm embrace of his mother; she wrapped her arms lovingly around the older woman. Returning the gesture as she stood herself up to her full and normal height, "..mama Lockwood- good morning..!"

Head turning lightly to the side, she pressed a soft kiss against the woman's cheek before stepping back. Stepping across to give Gavin the same - a warm hug, and a kiss on the cheek in greeting - before she stepped back. Once more resting against her bike with a bright smile dancing across her naturally pouted lips, "Well... I'm not sure what classes I share with these two yet, if any, aside from homeroom with Soy; but you know me, I'll be sure to keep them in line for you. You have my word."

"YoU hAvE mY wOrD." Sawyer rolled his eyes with a bit of a smirk, noticing the helmet she'd gotten specifically for him when he rode with her on her motorbike. His eyes moved over to meet hers with a small smile before turning his attention back to his mom and brother, waving them off.

"Yeah, yeah. As if it isn't enough already having one mother." Sawyer chuckled softly, quickly side hugging his mom before walking around Eretria to the back of her bike, pulling his backpack straps tight before pulling on the helmet.

"Go ahead, Gav. I'm gonna ride with Tria." Sawyer watched as his brother ducked into the garage where their mother's car was currently parked, though once he realized she wasn't following him in, his eyes caught hers. His face flushed lightly at the look she was giving him, though glad that he had the helmet on and the visor down. Sawyer shook his head at the look she had as she looked between the two, watching as his mother turned to walk into the garage with a smirk that she failed to hide.

"Hope they don't cause you too much trouble. You kids ride safe, and have a good day," the boys' mother called over her shoulder as she and Gavin loaded up in the family's SUV. Sawyer flipped up the visor of his helmet, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Mom really needs to stay in her lane," he mumbles under his breath as he forces a grin and waves at them as they pull out of the garage and drive away, leaving the two standing there alone in the driveway.

Gods, she loved this family. Hand lifting from her side- her fingers wiggled lightly in a small wave goodbye before her attention was brought back to Sawyer. The soft sound of her chuckling falling out through her lips and into the air between them. It didn't take a genius to understand that he was very clearly embarrassed by his mother; but then, who wasn't..? It was their job after all.

Rolling her eyes, unable to help it; Eretria reached for the handlebars. Holding onto them gently as she took a moment to swing her leg over her bike, and once more settle in the seat. Hands already moving to pull her helmet on over her head. Being sure to curl her long orange-red locks up inside of it, "She's just being her- did you really expect anything less, Soy..?"

Sawyer shook his head with a light smirk, watching his mother's car disappear down the road.

"No, I was just hoping."

Checking his phone as she put her helmet on and tucked her hair into it, looking at the time while also checking the messages he'd received - just a few from the lacrosse group chat. The time currently read 6:54 AM. Sawyer waited for her queue to climb on the back behind her, sliding his hands over her hips, scooting himself up flush against her. Leaning around a bit to get an angle on her, his voice became softer as he spoke, one of his hands lightly rubbing over her hip.

"How'd you sleep..?"

"Honestly..?" Hands lowering down to the seat between her legs; Eretria's eyes closed. A soft blush creeping out across her cheeks at the feeling of his hands rubbing against her hips, "..it could have been better. How'd you sleep..?"

Sawyer nods lightly, leaning forward to rest his head on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry. You have a bad dream or somethin? Or just... didn't sleep well?.." Pulling back, Sawyer yawned deeply to the side before returning closer to her. "Definitely shouldn't have been up so late, but people wanted me to stream. I couldn't say no. Even got a few donations. It was alright. Just wish I had gone to bed earlier. I'm still super tired. The short shower I took didn't really do anything for me."

Sawyer gently wrapped his arms around her middle, pulling her back against him, wishing to himself that they could just go back upstairs to either of their houses and just sleep the day away together. Sleep sounded nice. And sleepy cuddles? What could be better than that...

"Long night..." Correcting him first; she couldn't help but let out another sigh as she was pulled back against him. Her bright eyes closing as she let her head fall back to rest against his shoulders, "..had to make sure that I was all set for today- check my uniform to see if it still fit... press it, though not before making sure that it wasn't musty from sitting in my wardrobe all summer... may have cleansed it too; got rid of any lingering negativity from last year... plus, I was watching your stream..."

Trailing off, Tria shook her head lightly over his shoulder, "..by the time I went to bed, I had a wicked headache forming. Totally not cool."

A small smile spread across his face at her admitting to having watched him the night prior. It was nice to hear, though he already had a feeling. She had always been one of his biggest supporters through his adventures with his growing cosplay popularity. Gently squeezing his arms around her in a sort of hug, he smirked a bit as he spoke up.

"Keeping your eyes on the screen for long hours like that is bad for your eyes. You should probably stop watching those noobs play Fortnite on Twitch into the wee hours of the morning, Trey." Sawyer chuckled softly, making a mental note to buy her a pair of the glasses he'd gotten for himself while he streamed for hours on end.

Hands lifting from where they'd been resting between her legs; she instead pressed them gently over his. Chuckling with a light shrug of her shoulders, "What can I say..? I'm a sucker for a gamer boy in a Spider suit."

"Mm-hmm."

As her hands came to rest over his he spread his fingers apart, letting hers fall between his before closing them around hers, holding them there a few moments before patting her side with his free hand.

"We should probably get going. Don't want you to screw up your attendance record on my account."

Right. School. Groaning softly, making a show of lifting her head from its rest over his shoulder; Eretria returned her hands to handlebars. Keeping them there a moment before going about switching on the motor and kicking up the stand, "I'll get us there in plenty of time... don't worry that pretty little head of yours, Parker."

Hand lifting; she slid down her visor. Giving him a few moments to once again adjust his hold before eventually, she pumped the gas and peeled out of his driveway.

As she had said, they got there with plenty of time to spare. Being able to pass right through the traffic was quite a perk. A thing that really had Sawyer thinking on building a bike of his own from the ground up. Would have to be a project for later after he built up his truck and got it running properly. Sawyer slipped off the back of Eretria's bike and pulled his helmet off, shaking out his still-damp curls before setting the helmet on the back of the seat. He stepped back and smiled at her as he watched her a minute, looking her over from head to toe.

"You, uh, gonna meet with the squad before class?"

"Maybe... I do need to change at some point. We're doing uniforms today." Head tilting slightly to the side; Eretria's long, curled locks tumbled out of her helmet as she lifted it. Lowering it down to rest between herself and the handlebars as her hair came to a stop over her shoulders and halfway down her back as she. Her bright gaze drawing back over towards him as she smiled, "Why..? You giving me a better offer, Parker..?"

Sawyer nodded as she talked about needing to change into her uniform, his thoughts wandering. It wasn't until she turned around that he realized he'd spaced out momentarily, his face flushing just a bit as he quickly brought his eyes up to meet hers. A slight smirk casting over his lips.

"I mean, yeah, but.. you have things to take care of."

A moment more passed between them before Sawyer spoke again, leaning in close to whisper into her ear, "I can take care of you later, kitten." The curly-haired boy kissed her cheek lightly before pulling back with a wink shot her way, chuckling as he began to turn away to head towards the front gate.

Heart fluttering lightly in the confines of her chest; the response was basically automatic. Her hand shooting out as she took a gentle hold of his wrist. Stopping him from getting too far away from her first before tugging him back towards her. Her bright eyes lifting to meet with his once more; a small smirk dancing over her lips, "..you know... you could come with me..."

As he was pulled back and to her, he couldn't help the grin that spread across his face as he looked down at her. Sawyer chuckled softly, pulling her closer by her hip till she was standing flush against him. "Not sure you'd be able to meet with the squad and..have time to... play. You sure you want me to tag along..?"

"..mmm..." Allowing herself to be led by his touch, her body lifting from the bike, and her leg sliding over it; Eretria only stopped once she was stood in front of him. Her hands lifting to fist rest lightly over his shoulders before she slid them up and back. Palms curling to the natural curve of his neck, "..I'll even let you fix my skirt when I inevitably forget how to do up the zip; because, as we all know, zips are very hard to master..."

A chill ran up the boy's spine as images and thoughts swirled around in his mind. "Oh, very." Sawyer bit at his lower lip then, leaning in closer, whispering something in her ear before gently removing her hands from around his neck to intertwine his fingers with hers. About to turn away to start walking to the front with her, he paused and turned to meet her gaze again, tilting his head slightly. "You got everything you need..?"

"As soon as I grab my bag, I will." The smirk on her lips growing, a bright blush coloring her cheeks which almost matched the shade of her hair; Eretria bit down on her lip. Chewing on it a moment before she turned back to her bike. Reaching to grab the strap of her bag and the straps of each helmet. Her gaze turning back to meet with his once she was ready.

Sawyer gently removed his hand from hers, reaching to her other to grab his helmet from her as he slipped off his backpack from one arm. He snapped the helmet to the backpack strap before quickly pulling it back onto his shoulder. Taking her hand again with a small smirk-smile, he walked with her to the front gate, squeezing their way on past the guard and across the school grounds to the lockers. Sawyer opened the door for Tria to walk in first, pausing to scan the area a couple of times before following in behind her, letting her lead the way through the locker rooms.

Making her way to her locker first, not so much as bothering to even open it; Eretria dropped her bag and helmet down onto the floor by her feet. Body turning, she let herself fall back- leaning against the cool metal while her eyes lingered on his figure. A soft smirk dancing across her lips, "..so... you mentioned something earlier about having a better offer..?"

A smirk started to spread across his lips as he watched her turn around to face him, stepping over the wooden bench seat to stand in front of her as he slid his hands over her hips and on back into the back pockets of her jeans.

"You already know what I have to offer," he said with a soft chuckle, leaning in to press his lips to hers a couple of times before pulling back to ask one last thing. "Question is.. do you want it?

Did she want it..? Such a loaded question to ask in the morning; though she had to admit that it was sweet of him to ask at all. And really, she wasn't sure why she should have expected anything less. Arms lifting; Eretria once more hooked them one by one around the back of his neck. Using them to help draw him in closer, as she took the chance to steal a kiss, "..I do want it. Do you..?"

Did he want it? Ha. Although he hadn't intended on it this morning, at least not right now, he definitely wouldn't pass up the opportunity. This would be a first for him. Messing around at the school with her, or with anyone. It would be something he could cross off his bucket list for senior year. Who cares if they missed homeroom..? Sawyer held her gaze a moment or two before nodding gently, a soft smile spreading across his lips.

"With you..? Of course, I do, Tria." Sawyer leaned back in to press his lips to hers once more in soft kisses, taking his hands from her back pockets to reach down in front, undoing her pants as they kissed.

From there, the rest is history as the two faded to black...

"Danny just text me, says they're heading out of the auditorium. We can meet up with them on their way by the choir room to the lacrosse field."

Sawyer pushed the door open of the locker rooms, peeking outside before slipping out into the open with a slight smirk cast over his lips. Sawyer's eyes scanned over the crowd of seniors that were flooding the walkways, a few moments passing before he spotted his friends in the large group of kids, reaching back to take Eretria's hand.

"I see 'em. Come on," he mumbled to her with a small smile, turning to gently pull her with him and fall into the crowd, pushing his way through to meet up with their class. Before long, they were with their homeroom group as if they were never missing from the start.

A gentle blush crossing over her features, giving her cheeks a healthy glow to them; it took very little convincing for Eretria to simply reach out and take a gentle hold of his hand. The warmth of his palm against hers causing her smile to brighten over her features as she weaved their fingers together. His touch-... it was so warm..! Not that she wasn't used to it by now. Growing up side by side - not taking into account the short spell of their lives where he'd moved away - it was just something that she had grown to love over the years.

First, like this, and then, as they'd grown older, she'd come to enjoy it in other ways too...

"..if we get caught and questioned; just say that you were helping me with something for the squad." The hem of her short skirt brushing lightly, back and forth against her upper thighs as she kept pace with him; her free hand reached forward. Curling around the back of his hand so that she was holding it in both of her own as they moved. Her long, wavy orange locks bouncing gently over her back as she pressed herself closer to him. Allowing her bright blues to flick over the crowds that filled the area.

Sawyer smiled a bit to himself when he felt her second hand close around his but kept his eyes forward, giving her hands a firm squeeze as they were suddenly surrounded by their friends. The boy tried his best to catch up with the conversation, looking between everyone but getting lost at the mention of food. Food. Just the thought had Sawyer's stomach in knots. He hadn't eaten this morning. Well... at least not food.

To say he was hungry would be putting it lightly. The poor boy was starving, and suddenly all he could think about were the different options they might have out on the field. Sawyer laughed nervously at Ruby's comment about Damien not eating breakfast, rubbing the back of his neck as he spoke up.

"Can't say anything. I didn't eat, either. I don't usually like eating breakfast. I typically wait till Nutrition before I eat." The boy shrugged lightly, his hand slipping from Eretria's hands as he reached up and playfully shoved Danny's shoulder with both of his, laughing. "Come on, please tell me they have some good barbecue or something."

"Come on, Sammy. Kids'll be here any minute. Make the last few minutes of peace last," Sam's mother called down the hall with a laugh. Sam, too, chuckled to herself with a shake of her head as she finished fixing up her hair. Running a gentle hand through her hair, Sam looked herself over in the mirror before grabbing her bag and camera from the end of her bed to head downstairs. Sam didn't even make it to the bottom of the staircase before she could hear her mother's voice at the front door followed by thundering little footsteps running through the house. The twin boys had been the first to be dropped off this morning.

Daemon came sulking around the corner from the kitchen with his head hung low with Slade right on his heels as they took off to, what Sam could only assume, go hide from the loud boys running through the house. Kida, however, was as lively as ever with the rowdy kids. More kids meant more attention for her, and she was all for it as she bounced happily after the boys as they tore into the living room. Sam giggled at the kids, giving their mother a wave as she ducked into the kitchen to grab a bite to eat before she headed off to school. While Sam was in the middle of popping a bagel into the toaster, her mother rounded the corner and came to sit at the breakfast bar to watch her daughter make breakfast.

"You excited?"

"Mm. Indubitably," Sam said, her tone heavy with sarcasm as she glanced at her mother through her bangs before turning towards the fridge to pull out the creamed cheese. A soft but heavy sigh came from Haley, causing Sam to peek around the fridge door at her mother before letting the door shut on its own as she closed the distance between them.

"What's wrong, mom?"

"Oh, nothing, sweetheart. I just remember when you were that little." Sam followed her mother's gaze, landing on the two boys playing on the living room floor with a few hot wheel cars. "Before you know it, you'll have little ones of your own. And one day you'll be sitting there asking yourself where all the time went."

The second her mother mentioned kids of her own, Sam froze on the spot. Sure, the thought had crossed her mind a few times - especially since she and Damien started dating - but the thoughts were only ever fleeting. Her main focus was always on school. Kids were something that would come much later. There was still college and jobs to think about. An actual career. Sam wouldn't settle for being simply comfortable. She wanted to be far past just comfortable before bringing another life into this world. One she could devote all her time to, and not have to worry if they had enough money to cover something for the baby. Sam was lucky to have come from the family she did, as she never had to go without her needs.. and even the majority of the time, her wants were met as well. She knew plenty of people, some of them being a few of her friends, who weren't as lucky.

"Got a long way before then, mom. College first, then we'll talk about giving you grandkids, kay?"

Haley laughed, turning to look back at her daughter. "I'm really proud of you for having goals set for yourself."

Sam smiled at her mother, opening her mouth to say something just as the toaster popped, turning to grab them and spread creamed cheese on the two halves before taking a seat next to her mother as she ate her bagel. Pulling her camera's strap from off her neck, she tenderly set it down on top of her bag on the counter before taking a bite of her food just as she received a text message. She assumed it would be from Damien, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was actually a text from her father. A small, sad sort of a smile pulled at the corners of her lips as she read the message, typing out a quick response before setting her phone on the counter face-down.

Sam finished her bagel while she and her mother made small talk, every now and then having to pause to greet another set of parents and kids, often telling Kida to relax. Seemed the dog never had an off switch. Such were the ways of a husky, though. Sam cleaned up her dishes and grabbed her back and camera again, giving her mother a long, tight hug before heading on her way out the door. Hopping into her jeep and turning the key in the ignition, the vehicle rumbled to life which brought a small smile to her face. Pulling from the drive, it was a short trip across the street and around the corner to the school. Once there, Sam wasted no time and quickly headed up to her homeroom, beyond excited that she had gotten placed in Ms. Goldman's homeroom class. She'd sit up in the classroom with Ms. G talking about the school year to come while they waited for the bell to ring, staying in her seat while Goldman stepped out of it to greet the incoming students.

With seniors, there was always room for tardies or even straight-up no-shows on the first day back to school. Something that Jennifer Goldman had just learned to accept over the years teaching teenagers. They were in their true years of rebellion, and what better time to make their own decisions and test their limits than the last year of high school. Of course, some had legitimate reasons for missing and she completely understood that. Those, though, who tried to use their charm in an attempt to hide the fact that they clearly chose to arrive late - Vincent - she always had an eye out for. She simply smirked and shook her head at the boy, motioning with her head for him to take his seat at the front in the middle row on the side nearest the door. Somewhere where she could keep an eye on said boy.

As the time passed, Goldman took to looking over her lesson plans for the following week. Of course, she stood with the students and held her hand over her heart as Jack had asked the students, though she remained quiet as the Pledge was said. Her eyes couldn't help but wander over the students, catching on one in particular. Monserad Tul, seated just in front of Ms. Goldman's desk. The girl sat through the entire pledge, a girl after her own heart. A bit of a smirk played over Ms. G's lips at the action. If it wasn't for the image she had to hold, and the respect she had for Jack and his past service - though his ideals of what he felt this country meant to him were nothing more than an extremely flawed fever dream - she too would be sitting through the Pledge. 'Justice for all' my ass, she thought to herself before pushing a smile across her lips, seating herself with the kids to continue overlooking her lesson plans while Jack did his morning announcements.

Before long he was dismissing them, and Ms. Goldman quickly stood to address the class. "If you wish, you can keep your things in here instead of taking them to the auditorium and lugging them around for an hour out on the field. Or take them, it's your choice of course. Please, stay together-"

"..uh... Miss Goldman-..?"

Over all the noise the other students were making, she almost hadn't caught her name being called. Eyes drawn over to Sasha, Goldman flashed the girl an understanding smile and a simple nod before turning back to handle the other students. "You guys know where the auditorium is. Please stay together, wait for me at the stairs and I'll lead us in. We will all be sitting together, alright? Alright guys, vamos!" As the students ushered themselves out of the room, Goldman's eyes fell back on Sasha before exchanging glances with Sam. She was well-aware of the friendship the two girls shared and was kept up-to-date on Sasha's condition even over the summer thanks to Sam. Ms. Goldman knew all too well what the girl was going through, and knew that she often needed rest. She always made it clear to Sasha that she was always welcome to come into her class to rest, whether Sam was with her or not. As close as Goldman and Sam were, and the bond between Sam and Sasha being sisters from different misters - as Sam liked to call it - it wasn't a far stretch to say that Sasha was another student she considered one of her kids.

With much convincing, Goldman was able to drag Sam out of the room to allow Sasha some much-needed rest. Just before closing the door, she popped her head back in. "If you need to step out and you want to come back in here, you'll need to prop the door open with a book or something. If you step out and the door closes, you'll be locked out. I'll have Sam or I come up here and check on you after the assembly is over. Shouldn't be more than an hour, or so." She gave the girl a reassuring smile before pulling back and letting the door close behind her as she walked down the hall to the staircase to catch up to the rest of the class on their way to the auditorium.

Goldman kept her eyes on the kids as they made their way to the lacrosse field, and once they were there, she took a quick headcount before setting them free to do what they wanted. She had it in her mind to go find herself the taco truck to get a burrito. First, though, there was one thing she had to take care of. She didn't have to even turn to know that Sam had hung back while her classmates went on ahead, smiling as she turned to the girl.

"She text you at all..?"

"No," Sam locked her phone and shoved it into her back pocket as she turned to look behind them, staring a moment as if expecting Sasha to come walking around the building to join them before turning back to Goldman. "I'm gonna go back to the room with you."

Ms. Goldman nodded, reaching into her dress pocket to fish out her school keys to then hold out for Sam to take. "Go ahead and head on up, I'll be right there. Going to go get myself some munchies. Un buen burrito de carne asada."

Once Sam took the keys, Goldman turned to follow behind her students onto the lacrosse field to find her way to one of the food truck vendors, leaving Sam to head back to the classroom. Sam took her time getting back to the classroom, but as she reached the double glass doors that led into the stairwell up into the 900 building she pulled her phone back out and sent a quick text to Sasha before pulling the door open, heading on up the steps.

Sam made it to the door without a response. Her first thought was that maybe Sasha was still asleep until Sam had a peak through the small glass window on the door and didn't see Sasha in her assigned seat. The girl's brow furrowed slightly as she stuck the key into the doorknob, unlocking it and pulling it wide open to peak inside the room. No Sasha. Sam stood there quietly a moment, confused. Did she already head out there to the field? How'd they pass each other..? Maybe she was in the nurses office? Shit. Sam let herself out of the room, leaving the door unlocked for Goldman to get back in before stuffing her keys into her pocket to replace them with her phone in hand, tapping out a quick text. Sam headed down the hallway to head across the outside bridge to the 300 building to use the stairwell to the first floor where she'd head across to the administrative office and check to see if Sasha was in fact in the nurses office or not.

Take your pick. There was no contest. Tyler didn't have any actual problem with Brandon, though the guy really knew how to get under one's skin at times, he wasn't hard to deal with. Ezra, in all reality, was good company too. He just much rather preferred Brandon to come along than Ezra. Spencer still hadn't shown up. If Ty had anything to be thankful for, it was that Spence was a no-show. Snape was one that Ty really couldn't stand to be around, though he always put on a brave face for Erin because he knew that the two were friends. It wasn't till he heard Carlos' voice that he was brought back to the present moment, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked from Bran to Carlos and out at the general group. What was it with everyone thinking that his and Brandon's back and forth banter was them actually being hostile with each other? Ty rolled his eyes and sipped at his tea, zoning out temporarily while the others talked amongst themselves about what was going on.. though that temporary zone-out didn't last too long.

Erin was on the move. As she talked to the rest of the boys, Tyler quickly stood up and carried his mug into the kitchen to pour out the last of his tea. Giving the cup a quick rinse, he set it upsidedown on the dish rack before jogging back into the living room just in time to see Erin opening up a shadow portal in the corner of the room. It was always cool watching her work her "magic". Of course, Tyler knew the different gods offered their children different powers, as that's just simply how genetics worked, but with Tyler being the son of Hermes he didn't get abilities like what Erin had. It never ceased to amaze him when she used her abilities. He couldn't help but kind of geek out anytime she did. The question of who would go through first was thrown out there, and Tyler quickly pushed forward, but not before grabbing Carlos by the shoulders as he walked forward towards the portal.

"Don't everybody jump through at once." Tyler chuckled softly, letting Carlos go just as they stepped up to the portal before walking around him with his back to the portal as he looked at his best friend. "Come on, buddy. Let's git it."

Before Tyler stepped back into the portal, disappearing into the utter darkness, he turned to Erin and gave her a soft smile as he mumbled, "Ne vedem de cealaltă parte."

“..which one of you is first..? I can’t hold it open forever…”

Ezra shook his head gently with a smirk, standing off to the side as he watched the group before him a moment. Part of him sat there wondering if he would see the faces in the room again, or if this would be the last time he laid his eyes on them. He was sure it was something on everyone's mind, but like him, no one would openly speak the thoughts out loud. Though he hoped everyone would return, the fact of the matter was that this quest seemed to be a pretty tall order. All one could do was hope that it was fulfilled, and the quest was brought to its bitter end. It was enough thinking about the fact that if this group couldn't recover the stupid bird that one of his best friends would be brought to her own bitter end. Though it wasn't like most of the camp wouldn't be up in arms if that happened. Erin had more people in her corner than she realized, or sometimes cared to admit. It wouldn't be the first time the children of the gods stood against their godly parents.

The first volunteer, of course, was Tyler. And as Tyler made his way through the portal, Ezra stepped forward to stand behind Erin as he placed a firm hand on her shoulder to let her know he was right there with her. The eldest son of Deimos' eyes soon flooded black as he too used his abilities, doing what he could to help Erin in the present moment. Though she put on a brave face for the group, fear was radiating from her like crazy. Ezra pulled his other hand up to her other shoulder and squeezed gently before resting his cheek over the top of her head as he closed his eyes to focus.

"You're doing great, Er. Just breathe," he whispered to her so that only she would hear him.

With the approval to have Ky'vie tag along and the swift dismissal, Greyson made himself scarce with the rest of the group that had been brought to the Big House. All at once, it seemed, the group pushed out of the building with Grey tagging along patiently at the back of the pack. His eyes first caught Vivian, soaking up some of the morning sun's rays with a smile that seemed to be 100-watts itself. It was contagious. A smile crept over Grey's features as he took a step towards the cabins before hearing a voice behind him. A voice he couldn't recall as familiar to him. Turning, Grey's eyes fell on a blond girl standing at the door to the Big House, calling to someone inside. She must have been new. More than one thing about what he was witnessing before him pointed to that. Grey turned back around and walked over to the girl, clasping his hands behind his back as he stood up straighter before addressing the girl.

"I, uhm, wouldn't do that, luv. Mister D isn't in the best of moods, at this time. Might want to drop back by later in the day." Grey's eyes wandered over to see Vivian still nearby, glancing back at the girl. "I'm Greyson, by the way. Unfortunately, I'm right in the middle of going to retrieve someone for a quest, but Vivian here," he spoke the girl's name a little louder so she would hear him, motioning to Viv to come on over with a charming smile. "-Vivian is also accompanying me on said quest, but while I locate our other quest member maybe she could help you settle yourself in..?"

Greyson turned his eyes on Vivian, giving her a small smile. "I'll go find Ky'vie. Then we'll get the others and head out. Meet at Half-Blood Hill in..30?" Though it was against how Greyson handled conversations, normally allowing someone to reply before taking his leave, he turned and began jogging down the dirt path without giving Vivian the chance to get back to him, calling to the new girl over his shoulder with a wave, "Was a pleasure to have met you, by the way!" It gave him ample time to locate Ky'vie - wherever she may be - and for Vivian to help out the new girl enough to send her on her way before they made their way to Australia. Greyson pulled his phone from his pocket and quickly shot a text out to Ky'vie as he made his way to her cabin to check for her there if she didn't get back to him before he found her.

@Luft Yes, it's like your average carnival. The students will have roughly an hour to play around and enjoy themselves before they ring the bell to head to their first period class. Grades 9-11 will just be in their homeroom classes till then.
