Sadaomi Beach - Afternoon > Evening

Saturday
1/8/15
@Tenma Tendo@Takaru@Amaterasu@floodtalon
@EntertheHero@Sen@itano123

The entire group played more on the beach throughout the day, there was a lot of time and Tadao's family even give them the means to go fishing for a short while. There were a bunch of the usual too, including watermelon-smashing and volleyball, but before they knew it the day was nearing it's end. The train they were to take was in a little over an hour and a half, and it was too late to keep playing on the beach, so they decided to go into a restaurant to get something to eat before lighting some fireworks and then going home. The restaurant was owned by Tadao's family, so they kind of ended up doing both at once. Someone suggested a test of courage, but there wasn't enough time left in the night, but it'd be the mountain path up to the local shrine so it seems.

Rui was getting the fireworks ready with a few of the others outside, they mostly just had some of the usual sprinkler ones. The warm night was contrasted by the cool breeze of the sea at night, making this an especially refreshing evening. Whenever it would feel too hot, just step outside and be met with a salty breeze, and it was still early enough in the evening that some of the warm air could still be felt.

"We've sure got a lot of these", he commented. They'll have to be sure to dispose of them properly afterward. There was enough for everyone to burn about 3-4 each. It seems it was surplus from a store nearby which Megumi had managed to acquire... It seems Kazuki's group was quite well-acquainted with the people here. Rui took two for himself to start with.
Valennia

Fang District
@floodtalon

The Fang District was as fancy as many would expect from the area closest to the palace. There were a lot of soldiers walking around too, and some workers too. It seems something was going to happen at the palace soon, but likely in a day or two from the looks of things. It wasn't an event of high tension by the looks of things, but that aside, soon Hade had found himself looking at the steps of the Rainbow Cathedral.

Ironic to him that mages would choose to call their main office a cathedral of all things, but considering the Black and White leaders who founded it way before the establishment of Valennia had origins with gods, it may not be too much of a surprise.

Ultimately this place was an open office, mages young and old were walking in and out all the time and today was no different, speaking of basic studies to old and new theories. To be noted, there was an academy just down the road dedicated to magic for young students too, but that was of no interest to Hade.

He could make his inquiry at the reception in front, likely to be directed down one of the hallways towards the departments related to his inquiry, or he can find his own way around. If he recalled... The old man that was described had robes from this institution, but now that he's here... Which department...? Regardless he will need to figure out what to do next. Maybe the book has more details...? Who knows.

There seemed to be a few ruins in all of Raelin at the moment that have already been excavated. The newest one is out in the fields somewhere to the west, the northwestern forest has one, about half a day's walk, and the two in the south, along the coast and then near Drake Mountain were respectively half a day's walk and a full day's trip. On the other hand the new ruin seemed to be just a little less than half a day's walk. Surprisingly close to Valennia is it not...? Regardless, she'll have to consider what to do next. Perhaps consider some other course of action? Or go explore these ruins?
Vega

Luna Crescente - Golem's Hand Guild Hall

@pkken@Joker892@Spanner

After some deliberation it was decided that this could be the best they've got. Anyone new would be a bonus. Besides, the people they had in mind were problematic to track down, so hopefully they may just come to them.

Looking over the jobs, Vega's disgust at some of them were clear, but eventually his gaze rested on an... Interesting choice, given all the others have known about him. Justice for Angela. The only other one he was considering was the Lost Heirloom, but something about this one didn't sit right with him. This began to remind him of his thief days... A lot of people took the fall for a crime if it meant everyone else got out with all the loot, and then they'd be broken out later. Of course such a thing for a mission like this wouldn't be allowed, but whatever. The job is to clear someone's name, that's just as good maybe.

He clicked his tongue in minor annoyance before snatching it off the board with the intent that they'd take this one.

"You boys good with breaking some bones? And a lot of them... Whatever I'll make you do it even if you refuse", with that it was decided, this was the mission they would be taking, so it seems.
Yeah it seems to have been having issues this morning.

It seems to be fine now.

I remembered I needed to post. Oh dear.

"'Dark Dragoon' would be rather unwieldy to call out... I suppose for now, call me 'Sifrit'. I see you are wise to accept my proposition, though whether you accepted or not, we would still be headed generally the same way anyway", he answered. Though he refused the handshake, it seems he wants to keep his distance, even though they'll be cooperating. It was understandable... He had quite the reputation, despite his righteous deeds, he was always described as intimidating, even to those he was rescuing.

"Now then, I will lead the way if you don't mind. I know this area in and out, and the forest patch ahead can get confusing, which is why it is often a den for wild animals", he explained, after a few moments of confirming everyone's status, he led the way into the forest.

The area was... Untouched by man, there were no defined paths, terrain can get a bit uneven, fallen trees and old hollow legs barred their way often, and despite the peaceful disposition of the forest, as they got deeper, the atmosphere tensed. Everyone here was a seasoned fighter in one way or another, and their instincts were on full alert. Wolves. Quite a few of them were somewhere in the shadows out of their sight. Pretty soon, Sifrit raised his hand, and everyone stopped,

"Your quarry is up ahead. Just over that ledge, and then a drop down into the den. If you enter from here you can get the jump on the large wolf, if you kill it quickly, then it's pack will scatter. You should be able to save yourself a lot of trouble this way. As for me, this is where we part ways", and with that, he nodded, before heading wide and around the route he pointed out for them. Now would be a good time to make preparations for the drop...

Valdr

Street Towards Adventurer's Guild

As Valdr continued along based on the directions of passersby, he as usual went around doing small chores at the same time. As altruistic as he was, there were still some things he wouldn't do, like an old man asked him to find a magical tome that had been lost for decades, and it required something about a dungeon? It seemed a little too late game for him so he had to skip it for now, but he'll definitely come back if he gets an airship.

That aside, the Adventurer's Guild was now in sight, and as he kept going, he didn't notice the presence of a particular person, which caused him to bump into him.

"Aah, ah sorry", he made eye contact with the man... Empty. His black and fancy garb made him look like he belonged elsewhere, likely further up in the Fang District, but their gaze met and sustained for longer than it would for two people to say sorry for bumping into each other. Those empty eyes had a very slight glint in them as he saw... Familiarity? But he's never met this man before. Regardless, he ended up turning away, silently, and continuing along his way. As a cart passed by obscuring him from vision, despite the road being rather clear at this time of day... The man was gone, not a trace. Strange...

Well, regardless, it was time to see what the Adventurer's Guild here had in store, and what kind of menu they had.
@pkken Sounds good, I'll post this weekend or nearing it.
Raelin Fields

Off the Southern Road
@Ambra@Sen@Mag Lev

The fields of Raelin were lush, though the colour was not nearly as illustrious as Frinia's lands, it held a sombre and majestic aura that captured traveller's imaginations. It made people wonder little why this for a long time in history was the head country of a great empire. Valleys lined the horizons with patches of forestry and grazing wild animals, despite the restrained look of the land, it was very much alive, with small critters in most little corners of the area.

The small group of adventurers found themselves walking off the road towards where the wolves had supposedly made their nest. A few could be seen scurrying away in the corners of their eyes. It appears they were being stalked by their own quarry. Still, as they are, there wasn't much wolves could do against a group like this.

However they would find themselves looking at an unusual sight...

A knight, in black and darkened blue armor, the style reminded them of the nation's Dragoons, yet... The armor was not nearly as shiny as those of Raelin's Dragoons, plus he was holding a giant sword, not customary for that military division. They were cautious, yet... His name preceded him. It was the Dark Dragoon. What was he doing all the way out here?

"Hm?", it seems he's noticed the party.

"Ah... Right, I suppose you all are here for the wolves... Worry not, my target lays beyond. The glory and reward for that kill is yours", he begins. He walks up to the party, and continues, his voice was unexpectedly friendly, for someone who looked so... Dark.

"Though this is good timing, for me I suppose. The wolf has basically laid it's home in front of my quarry... Or rather it has taken to hiding there. How's this sound... I will assist you until you meet the great wolf you are here for, and from there I will take off for my own business", the idea seemed to be to stay together until they encountered the large wolf... It seemed reasonable, but just what business did this knight of dark justice have all the way out here?

The Royal Garnet

The Bar
@Hero

Her performance was captivating, everyone in the room had essentially fallen to the whims of her voice. The music even began to be led by it. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and even the workers needed to break out of a trance in order to deliver food to the patrons. It wasn't uncommon for performers to come here, most are offered the chance to perform for the guests, usually with compensation, or sometimes they are trying to get their name out. Aria's performance here was sure to get someone's attention... Or rather it did.

After her performance, she found herself being approached by a man backstage. The military badges, suit, and open carry of some very expensive weapons including an ornate revolver, he was a man of great age yet that age didn't seem to reflect in the strength of his stride. A military man, but moreover... Too ornate to still be an active general. A senator then...?

"A fine performance, Aria of Escain I am told. My name is Gasraux Holbrand, Senator Gasraux Holbrand", he introduced himself, the Senator title seemed to be a little stressed.

"In about three days from now, there will be a great Ball at the palace, I am here to extend an invitation to you, perhaps you would like to perform? Or mingle with the fine guests. Regardless, I feel this would be an excellent opportunity for you. Perhaps forge some connections hm? Well... I am afraid I cannot talk much more, though if you have questions... Here is the invitation, as well as a means to contact my office", he reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a gold trimmed sheet of extraordinarily fine paper, likely the invitation, and slipped with it was a business card of sorts. It seems Escain business practices were spreading, that of course using a business card and such.

With this, he bowed out, and headed off.
For people who are wondering why nothing happens here, well that's because everything is on the discord.

@MysteryBroom is the only person I don't think is in there yet.

"Oooh thank you!", the young lady graciously gave him a boxed lunch, to which he accepted with gratitude, as well as taking to it as soon as he could. The speed at which he ate it was impressive, but he seemed to enjoy it. Soon as he was done, she seemed to require assistance, she floated and it seemed she wanted some force to push her along her way.

"Ah I've got tha-t", it was an almost graceful motion as he moved to push the young mage girl as she requested, which he in fact did manage, but only to fall flat on his face as he did so. It seemed to have the intended effect however as she floated up the stairs to her desired destination.

"Don't mention it", he says from the ground, putting up a thumbs up. It appears what he just ate wasn't quite enough, but maybe it was? He managed to pick himself up from the ground after all.

"Well... I'm going to be heading over to the Adventurer's Guild now, uhhh... Do you know the way there...?", he asked the mage in black.
Jungle Tabernacle - The Sealed Door

@floodtalon@ProPro
@Lazo@Lugubrious@kapuchu
@Zarkun

The battle royale raged within the chambers of the great mausoleum that held the sealed door, and unknown to any of the combatants, angels guarding the way and demons that were unfortunate to run across the path of a certain someone were cut down. A flash of blue and a white blur from the east and west respectively approached the chambers, and yet even to these two who homed in on their goals, could not help but feel something or someone was watching them.

Kushiel had not yet reach anywhere near the end of his reserves of power, but at the rate this fight was going, it was going to be very close, but the words and their resolve were beginning to create cracks in his mask of self-righteousness and belief.

"You fear this Sevrin too much, cooperate, and we have nothing to fear of him. Heaven will have it's hold on this realm,
and thus he will not be able to touch us..."
, was this fight unwarranted? Perhaps, but he had faith in His plan. "At all costs" he was told, and so the fight was warranted by those orders, yet... As a free agent, a unique angel given some measure of his own will, did not feel the fight was warranted on a personal level, but in the end he was still an angel, and the will of god was also his will.

"Moreover his name rings no bells, not a demon or renown, nor a rogue angel, a no-name, I have doubts he is even a threat to begin with", though as he said this, his alertness perked up. He swiftly turned to strike a pair of demonic jaws with his spear, but just a pair of jaws, attached to a chain. In an uncanny motion it locked itself in place, "snapping" at the space it occupied as a figure flew quickly at him. He thrust the spear in an attempt to impale the attacker, but as soon as his attack found it's mark, the attack was revealed as a ruse, disappearing like smoke as a familiar feral roar resounded.

Fenn's chest had a blade sticking out of it, the sheen, shape, it was a katana, and it's elegant presence meant it could only be one thing, the Yamato. Lily turned to see it was Sevrin, as soon as he pulled it out, Lily had already begun to act, her honed instincts as a demon lashing out in a fiery blaze, obscuring her from vision. Sevrin had no sooner turned the blade onto Lily, slicing away her demonic flames, only to find that she had taken to the air, already pelting blasts of fire from above.

Sevrin immediately took to a spring, his path followed by destruction and from the smoke, chasing tendrils from another dimension. As soon as he made a leg ahead, holding the sheathed Yamato in stance, he turned to face Lily and Akoni's eldricht onslaught. Time seemed to stand still in that moment, right before impact, the tendrils, the flames, they were for lack of better word, cut apart. Lily and Akoni watched as their onslaught was negated by the incredible power of the Yamato, and pretty soon Lily would find herself on the defense as a pair of demonic jaws attached to a chain flew at her just outside of her vision, managing to ward the initial snap, Sevrin would launch himself at her with full intent striking her out of the air. Akoni created a portal in an attempt to force him to jump through it and into someplace else, but he simply brandished the Yamato and slashed at the portal, destroying it. A curious sight, especially for one well-versed in spatial magicks.

Though his target was Lily, he found himself at blows with Kushiel instead, who had intercepted him directly midair. A pair of greaves manifested themselves around Sevrin's legs, before he would do a spinning kick mid-air, striking Kushiel, riding this momentum he made his way to Lily, but the delay from Kushiel combined with his options being burned away by these interruptions allowed Lily a chance to respond in full.

Sevrin found himself blasted out of the air as soon as his kick made contact. It was a hard strike to be sure, but Lily in this form did not rely on force, but the power of her magical attacks instead, and so it was simple to maintain power without momentum. Sevrin would be blown back towards the ground. Though he was a demon possessing a human, his body was still just that, a human. Injuries came to him as quickly as any other human, and the demonic energy he held is spent when repairing it, in short, this was enough to keep him from moving effectively for about a minute. Akoni though was not one to let slip any chance, and as soon as Sevrin landed, a tendril was formed beneath him and slammed him up against the wall, keeping him there as everyone took their positions.

"Now now... Hehaha, come on old man, maybe... Not so rough. You seemed to have taken to my 'present' right? That book I found. Give your little grandson some slack", he even in this state he was mocking others, but on his face there was visible frustration.

"Hmph. As I thought, your fears were for naught. He is after all still a human, though I sense a demon, the body is still a human's", Kushiel sounded full of himself by these lines, but he instead seems a little glad about this outcome. Like some convenient ending had just popped in.

"Tch, I was hoping you'd all just open up the door, but I guess that's a little too much to ask huh...?",

"Silence... I know not the life you occupy, but to rid this world of a menace, one human life does not seem so high a cost. Farewell nameless demon... Your arrogance and your cunning will be your downfall", Kushiel wasted little time, raising the Longinus, and hurling it towards Sevrin. Everyone present expected to hear the sound of a spear piercing stone and flesh yet... Nothing. For a moment, everyone felt like they had lost every sense, smell, taste, feeling, sight and sound, all of it disappeared for just a moment, leaving only one sense in that moment. Dread.

A shroud, or rather, a field, he felt everything of him disappear, but he was still there, yet his senses were not. As his vision also seemed to fade in this presence, he saw Akoni's portal and appendages from that book disappear too. No... This wasn't a shroud, this was just collateral. Something incredibly powerful was appearing before him and whatever it was, stopped the Longinus with ease. Emerging from a portal made of stars and darkness, came a figure that seemed rather alien. The armor and wings suggested it was an Angel of the Heirarchy, yet the uncanny and beautiful darkness the rest of it's form and powers commanded, were not... What came forth, Wrath, as one of them recognized what it was. A Nephilim. But how...? Was it related to the one in the Skyworld? Her voice echoed with a strange and soft gargle, yet one could tell that were it not for that, the voice would be incredibly sweet,

"I suppose I should introduce myself... I am Void. Me and my kin have declared this interesting creature behind me as 'worth their time'", she began. Sevrin's face was just one of pure disgust. The frustration for him mounted, knowing how powerful he truly was, yet most of him was trapped in the demon world... His plan in his head began to change.

"Now then...", as she finished these words she appeared between Lily, Kushiel, and Fenn, and in an instant a black void of stars like a window to the far reaches of space enveloped them briefly like an explosion, yet there was no force, and Kushiel just dropped, it was uncanny. Their bodies were numb, their powers were negated, whatever transformation they had was removed. In not long their powers would return, but such a unique power.

Should anyone try anything, this Nephilim calling herself Void, she had the ability to fire waves of darkness and stars, capable of erasing whatever it runs into, and having the same effect as it did to the three here.

"Creature, I will give you your wish, for your wish coincides with me and my kin's", she made a motion with her hand, causing a rift to appear below Fenn, sinking him in as he appeared in front of Sevrin, bound. As a demon, he can sense the exact point of concentration of power, and taking the Yamato, he plunged it into the thick hide of the wolf. It took some effort, since he also had to cut open the opening too, it was like tending to a furnace, heat and embers gushed out from Fenrir's wound, there was no blood, just solid and liquid fire where one would expect flesh and blood, but pretty soon the orb was pried out of Fenn. Sevrin stepped over to pick it up, though it would be dropped inches off the ground at first due to the heat, but it seemed to cool itself rather quickly as he was able to pick it up a few moments later.

"'Your kin', such arrogance... But I'll count my fortunes, see you losers later", he said, referring to the Nephilim, and then to the ragtag group, before kicking Fenn in the ribs then heading down to the seal, unable to be stopped.

"I certainly am late to the party aren't I? All the drinks are gone and there's no food in sight, moreover I didn't even get an invitation, I'd say this is a fine insult", a volley of bullets rang out as Void found herself negating them with her abilities, removing all of their force with a wave of her hand. But as soon as she did that a demonic beast conjured by thousands of threads of hair slammed into her. Void's hovering self easily held the impact and minimized damage.

"A Witch of the Umbra... How unexpected. But this is no party, I'm afraid you may have the wrong place",

"Oh no I definitely have the right place", the witch in white that appeared, her name was Jeanne.

"Now then, do you happen to know of another "Witch of Umbra"? We were supposed to meet up and go shopping for the New Year", Void averted her gaze for a moment as if in thought...

"Another of your kind? I am afraid it does not for me, but my kin have shared to me such an encounter", Jeanne clicked her tongue at the result of her interrogation.

"Well then I suppose you'll have to introduce me to them", and very quickly the two were locked in combat. It was an unapproachable mess, huge hair-weaved demons and void-based magic, it was like watching a legendary battle unfold.

Everyone's gaze moved to the door as it heaved open.

Sevrin had successfully placed the orbs, and opened it, at first he began casually strolling in, but pretty soon he was on a sprint. The yell of a young man resounded after him as everyone watched a white-coated figure fly in, with an arm glowing blue, and a huge blade on his back. Akoni and Henry would recognize this man as Nero and so would others.

"That's my sword get back here!", was the last thing they heard as he and Sevrin disappeared into the vault below.
