Qoorb was clearly not ready for a fair offer, and a silence ensued as gears desperately started to turn in their head. Business at this station was usually done by the customer starting low. 12,000 was honestly more than fair, and Qoorb wouldn't go a credit higher for fear of scaring them off. Also, it'd be wrong and greedy, they supposed. They were about to answer, when the others interjected and kept trying to lower the price, as well as offer them advice, and ask questions. Qoorb cleared their throat, their brow furrowing, and then spoke perfectly sound yet accented English, albeit quietly. The 'poor English' act was obviously a facade to frustrate customers before they started haggling so they've be more prone to give up.

"First of all, I know exactly what's wrong with my project here. I wouldn't be trying to fix it if I didn't have a plan. Right now I'm sealing all the joints so that I don't get shocked when I begin testing the internal sensors. There might be more than one problem with it. It is from a crashed ship, after all. It may have even been the cause of the crash, for all I know," they spoke to Harrison, deliberately not addressing his offer to tell them what's wrong, possibly out of pride, or maybe they simply preferred the challenge of finding out. They then looked Koren dead in the eye. "Yes, you probably did find these components new or slightly used by one careful owner somewhere in the marketplace. And they were three times the price if you're lucky. Your friend has the right idea." It was at that point when SAL paid the full 12k credits.

When the two more troublesome customers left and Qoorb's personal favourite of the three stayed, he started making new offers, probably behind his crew's back. The new items that he asked for weren't exactly common junk, and Qoorb didn't have any of them in stock, but they did know a fair few other vendors at this station. "Well, I'm just a scavenger but there are stalls that are run by small-time crooks who work for mobs and gangs, who sell...niche products such as quantum accelerators and drone frames. I can give you names if you're okay with the risks. As for mainframe cabling, you're best buying that brand new from a spool and cut to length, and this is coming from a scavenger so you know it's true. Secondhand mainframe cable...I wouldn't risk it."
Finally posted. Going for a slightly less brooding, more Pratchett-esque approach to Eilidh. We'll see if it works.

Eilidh made her way (carefully) down the stairs, was surprised to see that there were yet more new arrivals. A fire demon, an ice dragon, and a ghost! What's more, the ghost claimed to have some link to Varjo, yet..was here? On the other hand, this was a blessing. Varjo likely weren't too happy with the guild and it's rebellion-leaning members at present. Something to make those barbarians happy would certainly keep the peace. Even so, she wanted to know more about this ghost, and whether or not she could be trusted, so she decided to introduce herself.

Vanessa would notice that she was being approached by a nine foot call chestnut-haired Centaur woman whose abdominal muscles, biceps and breasts all seemed to be competing with each other for the title of 'largest, most eyecatching and least covered-up part of her upper body'. The most noticeable aspect of the Centaur by far, though, was the bottom half. It was a horse, and quite a large horse at that. Eilidh had to stoop down just to offer Vanessa a handshake.

"Greetings. My name is Eilidh Chiron. Welcome to the Guild."

The Eilidh x Bast ship is the only thing stopping me from dropping out of this RP right now, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to muster up a post.
Under Attack!

Silverwick

It was not the sound of horses, nor the sound of Quoris' voice that woke Fayvre up, but the sound of battle. She shot up, having slept in her robes with her bow nearby, and snatched it up, before slinging the quiver onto her back. Not that she was about to use them. She armed herself on reflex. Now her brain was working, all she could think to do was to run and hide. She began to frantically look around her. All she could see was fighting, and all she could hear were shouts, and the clash of metal against metal. Her eyes finally narrowed on some buildings further into the ruins of Silverwick, and she willed her legs to start sprinting and take her there.

"Wait!" cried out a voice in Fay's head. The voice of Quoris. "I have calculated that the numbers are against us in this fight, and there is a considerable risk that our allies will be overrun. When they are, the soldiers will look for you, and they will kill you. You are a Chosen. You shall receive no mercy from these people. The best plan would be to kill as many as you can, to even the odds."

Fay understood what Quoris was saying, yet still hesitated. She'd never killed another man before, and she wasn't sure if she could bring herself to do it. To just...end a life like that, with her hands. Could she live with it?

"I can sense you hesitate. Why? It must be done. Your sentimental nature is unbecoming of a student of medicine. Life is science. The life of a man isn't more sacred or valuable than that of the deer you hunt. Why should it be treated different? If your emotions are going to be a nuisance, I shall temporarily tip the balance of your brain. It is forbidden knowledge and perhaps beyond your comprehension but the brain has two sides, one that deals with logic and reason. The other with emotion and empathy. For mere minutes, which should be long enough, I shall grant you the gift of clarity."

Fay would suddenly feel different. It was indescribably what had changed, but her head felt lighter, her heart had calmed down, and everything indeed seemed clearer as was promised. To avoid the serious risk of death, she must kill. It was not a matter of whether she wanted to or not. And why should she not? Were humans not animals? Had she not killed game with nary a melancholy lump in her throat. Certainly nothing that would bring great anguish and suffering. She took an arrow from her bow, and not a moment to soon, as an invading soldier on horseback had been charging towards her during her mental conversation, and was now almost upon her, expecting an easy kill.

Fay did not panic. She did not rush to meet her challenger. She turned her body round in an efficient manner, took aim, made sure that she was aiming at his shielded face, and let loose the arrow, which found its target with so little time to spare that she had to dive out of the way to avoid being rammed into by the horse. Now that she was safe, she looked around at the carnage, finding order in chaos. She discerned that the most tactical soldiers to kill were the ones closest, and on the road. If mass retreat was needed, the road would be preferable to retreating further into Silverwick, where reinforcements could surround the city. Therefore, clearing the road makes sense. She fired off two more carefully aimed arrows that neither cavalryman saw coming before they hit their targets, and both riders fell lifeless to the dirt.

I'm still here, and I'll try and post soon.

Oh hi!

Maeda Hitomi

Koizumi Seiko

Seiko clapped and smiled when Tomoe finished, and approached her when she got off stage. "You were kawaii! I wouldn't even be too upset if I lost to you after that performance! Hey, you should join me and my friends at karaoke one day! Anyway, I'm heading to the field now. I need to root for my side! See you later!"

When Seiko left the room with the throng of students, Hitomi went over and hugged Tomoe, grinning. "That was amazing, Tomoe-chan! I didn't know you could sing like that!" she gleefully chimed, before turning to Asahi and taking her soda. "I'm sure you'll do just fine," Hitomi answered, nodding. "Please let us know how things go tomorrow. Sorry I can't stay and watch, but I have business of my own to take care of. Good luck!"

When Asahi left, Hitomi stopped smiling and turned to Tomoe. "Something my opponent in the first round said to me's been bothering me. They warned me about the rest of the pro-Collective, the 1B class. I hope my fears are entirely misguided, but...They are a bit of a clique, and they made that scene in the lunchroom on the first day. I don't know. I don't fully trust them."

Mako Akane

The compliment about her smile got another smile out of her. But no blush. This time she was ready. She was, however, glad when he changed tacks. There was only so long she could play the flirting game before she either lost or it remained a draw for so long to become awkward. "I felt I had done everything that could be done. I stole from some of the most secure places in all Japan and got away with it. The second time would have just been a disappointing sequel to my first run. Besides, I wasn't so young anymore. As you get older, you gravitate towards resting on your laurels and choosing an easier path. Working at a Hero School wasn't what I had in mind at first. I did want to become a secretary, simply because I knew for sure I'd be able to grab some headlines by choosing the most mundane career path I could think of. What surprised me was how much I enjoyed the work. Well, it's managing money. I used to have to do that a lot. Once you've successfully hidden and laundered millions of yen in stolen money for six years, keeping the books for a trading firm is child's play

When I was offered the job at this academy, I thought the headmaster was out of his mind and I definitely wasn't the only one, but you know me. I can't resist a headline. And...I can't tell you how much I love this job. I'm not even sure I could ever go back to Villainy now if it meant leaving what I have behind.

What about you? To be honest, I know almost nothing about what you did back then and what you've done since. Let me hear some of your story."

@Heartfillia

Rags' arm and thigh muscles were aching from gripping the bird so tight for so long, but as it gave up on fight back and collapsed, the savage girl, covered from head to toe in blood, smiled, and looked over to Seig. "We eat bird! I get ed...ed-bull parts!" she declared cheerfully, before looking over to Kryss and the two other boys, one of whom she recognised as the boy who'd been helping her to fight, and frowned. Something was not right. She couldn't see the wings or the blood from where she was, but the distress on the face of both of them was worrying. She stood up, still standing on the neck of the bird, and yelled out to them. "Hey! You ok?"

Rags looked down the path along the wall, and reasoned that the platform down there was likely where she would pick the trail back up, but before Rags could go down there, she wanted her friends to be happy, healthy and well-fed. And that would mean cooking this bird. First she needed a fire. Luckily, there was a tree on the platform they had just come from, and the wood had been dry. Rags began to climb the platform rather fast but noticed, as she did so, she was starting to feel sick. Every fibre of her being was screaming at her to stop ascending, and Rags was then type to listen when her body told her something, so she descended again. Rags would have no problem eating the bird meat raw, but the other three, who lived in houses with adults, most likely would like the meat to be cooked. Rags would discuss the matter of food to them later.

I think I might retire Rebecca and just focus on Eilidh now Evil's gone, tbh.
