Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Sylphie couldn't help her excitement. It had been far too long since she was able to shed the blood of sinners, to slay the wicked. Ah, she could feel that warmth, feel her heartbeat quickening... the slaughter of those who did evil. That was what was coming to her soon, so very soon! It didn't matter that the raiders had escaped discovery so far, they wouldn't escape from her. The tiny black-haired girl almost couldn't restrain herself from manifesting her sword right then and there and simply charging out of town...

Until something completely unexpected happened. Sylphie was suddenly spun around by her shoulders and her head was shoved directly into Izel's chest. Needless to say, this was something on a surprise, and even the Pillar of Vengeance wasn't prepared for an experience like this.

"Mmmmmmf?!" was all that came out of the surprised girl for a few moments. Usually she wasn't on the receiving end of being teased, what was this?!
Youmu lowered her swords as the blast of pink magical energy tore clear through the fish monsters and the bloated corpse. While the bodies of the fish creatures seemed to be intact, the walking corpse was gone completely, vaporized in an instant. Of course, Nanoha was right. It was for the best that they took as little time as they could in clearing these caverns of these awful creatures. But the fact was that she wanted to kill them. They'd taken that girl, hadn't they? They were monsters that demanded human sacrifice, just as the owner of these lands had been a monster who would offer it.

What mattered was purging these caverns of every monster inside them. It was like a youkai extermination, only far more lethal then the ones back in Gensokyo.

"We're here to clear these caverns, as well," she stated, striding past the bodies of the fish creatures as she did, sending her phantom half ahead once more, "I can't say I'm too experienced in something like this, but... these are monsters that want human sacrifices, aren't they? They're the things from the journal."

The small silver-haired girl continued forward.

"They can't be allowed to take any more."

The sight in the alleyway was rather horrific. The man that had been dragged off hadn't faced a quiet and peaceable death, one of his legs laying severed and oozing red, blood splattered all across the cobblestone street and the grey stone brick walls. Indeed, there was a clear trail of blood, leading deeper into the alleyway, chunks of meat and shredded clothing marking the path as well.

And at the end of it... There was not just one corpse, but many. Mutilated beyond all recognition, most of them had clearly been partially eaten.

The latest addition to the pile of bodies was still being fed upon.

The creature that had dragged the hunter into the alleyway was now clearly visible. It was a large, black-furred, wolf-like beast, its head clearly canine, but a body oddly human-like as well. It quite clearly moved as if it was crawling across the ground like a man with his limbs splayed out. Perhaps more tellingly, the remains of shredded clothing still lingered on its lean, muscular body. The moment it noticed anyone approaching, it raised its blood-soaked muzzle and snarled.

It wasn't alone. Two other, similar beasts that had been feeding on the corpse pile took note of the intrusion and began to growl too... One was swift to leap to the side, scaling the wall of the alleyway to make a beeline straight towards Magilou!

That made sense. Whoever this was probably would have a lot more interest in magical girls then non-magical girls, so there was plenty of reason to transform if they wanted to draw her in.

Hikari took a deep breath, remembering how she had felt last night when she had first transformed the previous night. Soon enough, light flooded across her body, her clothing seemingly being destroyed and replaced with a warm sensation as her magical girl outfit formed over her petite frame once more.

When the light faded, she was gripping her hammer once more, a previously non-existent wind causing the large bow and her yukata in general to flutter for a few moments before going still. Her platform geta had raised her height rather noticeably as well, even though the only things that had changed about her physical appearance were her eye and hair color.

The now-redhead raised her hammer and gripped it in both hands, looking around carefully as she did. If that little blonde girl showed up again...!

... Wait...

"... Where did all these ravens come from?" she asked, narrowing her eyes," They definitely weren't here before, what's with this?!"

Chinatsu stared blankly at the note she had been handed for a few moments. It was about some kind of plan, meeting with someone she'd never even spoken to, to dismantle the student council.

Dismantle it, huh?

What did that matter?

Chinatsu wasn't here to destroy the school. If others got in her way, she'd fight them. Unquestionably. But she didn't even care about the other members of the student council, not unless they stood in her path. Her entire focus, her goal, was completely centered on that Unbreakable Student Council President. Yukimura Atsuko.

This just seemed to be a pointless distraction. Unless this person could magically fast-track her to fighting Atsuko, there was no way she was going to bother with it.

"... Whatever," she said, simply, turning to walk away. If anyone else bothered her about recruitment, her temper was going to wear quite a bit thinner.

The mountainside, then...

Sylphie nodded. None of the adventurers had been able to find it? None of them possessed the abilities she did. There was not a single doubt in the small girl's mind that she would find the perpetrators. The mere thought was already making her heart beat faster from sheer excitement. A group of raiders kidnapping townsfolk for some sort of wicked purpose... yes, that was the definition of the kind of people she was here to take vengeance on. Those were the ones where was here to exact righteous fury upon. Those were the ones she was here to claim just victory against.

They were the ones whose blood she was soon going to spill.

"Thank you for your information," she replied, placing one hand to her cheek with a smirk as she did. It was difficult not to look excited, she had no real intention of hiding it anyway. Her tone of voice would have conveyed her feelings immediately regardless. "In the name of Aphei, those raiders will soon trouble you no longer."

With that, the small girl turned on her heel and immediately began to head away from the church. If Izel followed her, that was the other girl's decision. She was going to find those raiders and kill them regardless of what anyone else said or did.

@A Lowly Wretch: That might help. For some reason I'm having trouble with this part and I really don't want to write both of our characters into a corner.

Sorry. ^^;
I'm going to admit I'm fearing I'm accidentally writing Chinatsu and Fuyuko into a corner because I don't actually want to reveal quite what's happening in the forest yet. ^^;

Hmmmm.

Does anyone want to intervene or something? ^^;
@Tomaru: Accepted.
"Obake yashiki..." Hikari paused for a few moments as she thought the possibility over. That wasn't impossible, was it? From what Tokiko had said, Archetypes could be anything that inspired human imagination, regardless of how true they were or not. Therefore, it was entirely possible that a magical girl could possess such an Archetype. But what did that concept have to do with rabbits? Was the mask just because it was creepy, and therefore gave everything more of a horror theme? She'd yet to see the watcher herself, though... not that the idea of the little girl having ghosts as a concept didn't make sense. It would certainly explain why she was able to disappear so quickly, and why the mansion seemed to be able to disappear too based on what Fuyuko had told her. At the moment, it seemed like the best guess they had at the true nature of this strange rabbit-masked figure and the little girl that had disappeared.

"I guess I can't think of anything else that makes more sense," Hikari responded, peering into the forest, "I wish I'd gotten a better look at her. Maybe then I'd have seen if there was any distinguishing marks on her, or something like that. Anything that might make it easier to confirm what her abilities are."

She paused for a moment. It was already obvious someone was here, so...

"Do you think there's any way we might be able to draw her out?"
