Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Chinatsu narrowed her eyes as Chie seemed... not exactly to threaten her, but to lay out potential consequences? Regardless, the pigtailed girl didn't like it. She didn't like it one bit. But regardless, it didn't really matter in the end. If Chie decided her club was going to be an obstacle for her, then Chinatsu would defeat them all. It was that simple. She wouldn't allow anyone, not a single person, to stand in her way to the top, to defeating the Unbreakable Student Council President Yukimura Atsuko.

Absolutely, absolutely no-one.

"I'm not interested in shaking down students and stealing homework," she responded, simply. There wasn't a single club that she did think was worthwhile for her to join, and this delinquent club was absolutely no different.

And then someone else showed up. Some guy with a hot dog? For a few moments she stared silently. She already had her lunch. Why would she want to eat another, entire lunch? Chinatsu wasn't some glutton like that girl from the neighboring class who powered up by eating or whatever.

"... Who are you?"

For a few moments, Sylphie was simply quiet as she listened to the nun's story. Internally, however...

Anger at the perpetrators. How dare they. It wasn't that she didn't understand why. There were many reasons why someone would turn to behaving as a bandit. Rather, it was because of the actions they had committed. It reminded her all too much of her own childhood. But she wasn't simply angry. To simply be angry was not in her nature.

She was excited. A familiar heat, entirely different then that of rage. To think, it was so soon and she'd already discovered news those who required her vengeance. Ah, it was exhilarating just to think about it! Oh yes, Sylphie was already prepared. She was ready. She was always ready. But there was still a little more that she needed from the nun. Placing one hand against her chest, the demigod gave the holywoman a pleasant smile, which was quite at odds with the situation.

"And where did these raiders come from, exactly?" asked the small girl, cocking her head to the side. The one of her voice, while seemingly calm friendly, seemed to carry something beneath it as well. Something Sylphie made little effort to hide.

If the nun realized what was about to happen, Sylphie didn't mind at all.

Konpaku Youmu

Forming a team with Nanoha had seemed like the best choice at the moment. Youmu could still feel that hot sensation in her chest, the anger at the one who had owned this mansion in the past. She had never once before encountered such awful acts. Utilizing danmaku was, at the moment, farm from her mind. She couldn't pull any punches. She wouldn't dull the lethality of Roukanken. Her swordplay had been conveyed to her both for use in danmaku and for use in battles with every danger unsurpressed.

The cavern was horrible. It smelled like rotting flesh, spoiled fish and salt. The air was thick and heavy. It was a terrible, terrible place, with strange carvings all over the walls.

"... Takamachi-san, I can hear things moving ahead," she asserted. Her phantom half drifted forwards as she spoke. The sounds were quite clearly that of some sort of creature, but exactly what was difficult to discern. Before it could drift terribly far, however, it encountered a terrible sight.

Not one, but multiple animated corpses. Their bodies were bloated, flesh rotted and decayed, some sloughing off of their bodies. It was completely vile. There was some sort of magic down here being used to animate dead bodies... ? It wasn't as if the idea of death was unfamiliar to the short half-phantom, but there was a difference between living in the Netherworld and seeing corpses walking around. And with those bodies...

Strange, squat creatures with contorted, fish-like bodies, carrying short spears and swords. One was already leveling its weapon towards them...!

Youmu's blue eyes narrowed. One hand laid on Roukanken's hilt.

Metal sang as she drew her katana, the length of the sword longer than her height, and erupted forwards without the slightest delay. She cleared the distance between herself and then enemy in an instant, the first of the fish creatures in front of her in seconds...!

Roukanken flashed.

For a moment, it appeared as if nothing happened. Then, it became clear there was a thin line of red across the fish creature's body, from the top of its head downwards.

It then slid apart, both halves toppling apart with an ugly spray of blood.

Spears jabbed towards her immediately after her initial attack, but Youmu deftly sprang back out of range, her other hand swiftly drawing Hakurouken!

"... That has to be the one who owns the mansion then, right? Or... something..."

Hikari stared at the space that the little blonde girl had so recently occupied. Stepping forward, it was clear that there was nothing discernibly off about the forest where the little girl had been standing. There was no-where she could have gone so quickly. There was nothing at all. It was as if she was a ghost, or something of that nature. Hikari frowned. It was eerie... and ghosts... well, if magical girls existed...

No. No way! She wasn't going to just easily accept the existence of ghosts just because magical girls existed! There had to be more then this, right? Maybe it was a magical girl who could hide herself somehow? Gaah! This was just weird and frustrating.

"If that girl disappeared like the mansion, and them mansion is where the rabbit masked person went, then they're connected, right?" she asked, "Why else would a little girl be out here in the forest and just disappear like that? But... if she was a magical girl... she hasn't attacked yet."

Hikari didn't really know what to expect, still. But... something was going on here. Something strange.

Zeke's fist sent a surprised man(?) hurtling backwards, tumbling end over end with a gurgle as he dropped his pitchfork. The others attempted to divert their attention between both Hibiki and the man, but it was soon proven that didn't matter. The air current from Hibiki's blows hit them like a truck, lifting them clear off their feet and sending them through the air. Many dropped their weapons entirely, the shock of the blow and the sudden impact against the cobblestone streets leaving them knocked completely senseless. In some cases they were entirely unconscious, and none of them remained on their feet afterwards.

For a few moments, most of them laid still, even in their warped states clearly quite aware that whatever had just happened was completely beyond them.

"... This town's cursed..." murmured one, staring wide-eyed up at the sky as he lay near the mouth of an alleyway.

And then...

A clawed, hairy limb lunged out of the darkness, latching onto his body. He let out a surprised scream as he was suddenly dragged into the alleyway, followed by a series of snarls, the sound of bones snapping and blood spraying, flesh tearing and ripping just out of sight. Almost immediately, the still-conscious hunters leaped to their feet and grasped their weapons, seemingly unable to decide whether to focus on the unknown threat in the alleyway or the three figures that had appeared.

"Beasts all around us!" howled one hunter, unslinging a rifle from his back and taking aim at Zeke.

Hello? ^^;
@HereComesTheSnow: I assumed everyone got different angles, yeah.
@ERode: I mentioned everyone attacking, it just seemed a little clunky to individually go through them all when they were all at the same time. If I made a mistake, please tell me, but I meant that basically...

Jeremiah gets lit on fire, tries attacking, everyone stabs him.
Suddenly, fire had engulfed Jeremiah. For a few moments, Fanilly didn't even understand what had occurred, until she realized that the blast had come from the artificer, Elodie. She stepped back, out of range of the raging flames, her blade held at the ready. Surely, surely, he was going to perish swiftly now, wasn't he? That intense fire, his entire body engulfed in it, surely there was no way even a man as enormous and powerful as Jeremiah could survive such an attack.

And yet...

Even wreathed in flames, he was still standing. With a roar of pain and rage, he raised his enormous sword.

"I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" her snarled, bringing it down with enough force to shatter the earth beneath his weapon, forcing Fanilly to spring back. This man's tenacity, he was still standing, still fighting, even as his entire body burned No wonder he had been able to slaughter three hundred people in a single battle! But that tenacity meant nothing. They were the Iron Rose Knights, and a monster in the shape of a man like Jeremiah had to be stopped here and now!

He raised his sword once more, his barely-visible eyes burning with fire even as his entire body burned too. It was as if the flames had simply enraged him even further... but they'd also blinded him! There was no way he could see clearly, and with the combination of attacks targeted at him now...!

His blade swung in an arc. Fanilly immediately ducked low, feeling it sail over her head, the edge hurtling just past her, wind rushing through her hair. The heat on her face from the inferno... But there!

Her blade bit into his armpit, below his arm, and sank deep inside. At that moment, the blows struck by the other knights hit home, though one pierced lower then expected, through his chest as Jeremiah leaned back. Needless to say, burning and pierced all over his body, Jeremiah was not going to survive.

"... Damned... magic..."

Fanilly drew back.

The huge man's body began to fall.

@King Cosmos: There's a system in the school that tracks challenges and wins and updates student information accordingly.

But there has to be a challenge you can't just run up and beat someone down and get anything from it.

Also... school cafeterias do exist in Japan, it's just most students bring their own food.
