Rules
- Don't be a bitch Basic Guild rules apply, you know the drill.
- Show each other respect, don't be a dick, and keep any and all drama you may have to the PM's
- The general minimum for posting is around a week, but that isn't a hard rule as long as you keep in touch with me and keep me updated. Your character may be puppetted if needed to advance the story.
- Blah Blah I'm the GM, Blah Blah, respect my authority, so on and so forth. I'm not going to pull the GM card that much unless you force me since the main focus of the rp is communal storytelling and whatnot.
- More rules may come as I think of them. . .
Rulings and Changes
- Canon Characters don't exist, and canon guilds will likely be similarly absent, though that'll be done on a case-by-case basis and depend on how much I commit to the idea of creating new guilds to fill a certain niche.
- Guilds will be run a bit closer to an actual institution, rather than just a place that acts as an excuse to get a lot of WMD-level mages hangout and occasionally find work. While that doesn't mean terribly much to the grand scheme of the RP, it does mean that their *will* be consequences for misbehavior if you get caught. But it also means that your character will get some sweet benefits, like free room and board, access to certain materials and books, etc, that doesn't really get elaborated on in the show. Won't be terribly much due to the next point, but it'll be something.
- As you might've guessed from the above story blurb, this is a guild that's just getting started, i.e. formed within the last 6-8 months by the time of IC start. The guild does have a bit of a name to it at the moment due to the Guild master accomplishing something pretty noteworthy(which is how he got permission to start the guild by the Mage Council), but we're definitely the new kid on the block with all that implies. Such as. . .
- No S ranks. No one in the guild will be any higher than an A rank in terms of power, and this includes the Guild Master. reasons for this are that A)S ranks kinda make the plot escalate to catch up with their perceived power and B)they don't serve much RP narrative purpose in my opinion. ICly, no S ranks worth their salt would really join up with a newbie guild. And even A ranks will be rather limited. I won't put an arbitrary cap because it really depends on the sheets I see but know that I will be judging A ranks pretty closely.
- Speaking of arbitrary caps, I won't be doing that with Slayer magic either. Let's be honest, if the show doesn't care overly much about their supposed rarity, then neither am I. I will, however, be judging slayers a bit more harshly still. If I get an rp of only slayers, that'd suck but oh well, if the sheets were good enough to pass muster than so be it. That being said, Demonslayers are something I'm not terribly keen on since people are quick to make them stupid strong, so consider that your warning/challenge
- Speaking of Slayers, note that Dragons in this RP aren't completely absent like in the Anime nor are they infinitely powerful beasts. Non-slayers can beat them, but their long lives and innate abilities make them a tough battle even for them. Dragons are, however, exceedingly rare to find, generally isolated from each other and society, and view humans on a scale from Insects at worse and a particularly amusing pet or animal at best. there are exceptions, of course, but that's just the general rule.
Important NPCs
Aiden is a somewhat well-known mage among those in Fiore, not only for being one of the rare Dragon Slayer Mages but also having taken down the notorious Dark Guild, Demon's Maw, who was responsible for quite a good deal of suffering throughout the Nation. While the motivation to take down this organization was mostly a personal one to achieve vengeance for his Master, the act still granted him sizeable fame and no small amount of favor with the Mage's Council. With this in mind, he set about making good on a promise he had made on his Master's deathbed, announcing the formation of a new guild even as he recovered from his injuries.
While down one arm since his battle with the leader of Demon's Maw, one would be remiss to think him frail or truly crippled in any way. Skilled in the use of Both Ice-make and Ice Dragon Slayer Magic, he has shown a remarkable precision in his application of both disciplines. While most Slayers known are want to just lash out at their foes with overwhelming force and power, Aiden fights with a controlled ferocity that focuses all of his power in quick and simple strikes. Preferring to fight with a blade, as his master before him did, one will find the older man to be just as capable a combatant as he ever was. . . perhaps even more so as talks are that his encounter with the Leader of the Dark Guild has left him with a few new tricks at his disposal.
A Local White harbor mage and the official secretary and manager of Winter's Blade, she's the one who assists Aiden in keeping all the finances, book-keeping, and other background functions of the guild, well, functioning. If not for her help, Aiden likely would be drowning in all of the administrative work of running a guild, and she often reminds him of that fact whenever she can.
Skilled in the use of Archive Magic, as well as a specialized form of Runic Magic that her clan has had for generations, she is a Solid B-rank mage that should not be looked down on just because she takes a more supportive role in guild functions. Act up in the hall, and you'll likely find yourself on your ass before you can even blink.
Plot Hooks
Rumors have been spreading recently of a strange mage of unknown origin wandering the lands of Fiore. No one knows their dace, but it is said that where ever they walk, disaster soon follows in the form of a Six-eyed beast of titanic proportions, appearing out of thin air and vanishing just as fast once the devastation has been wrought. The mage's council has been looking into this matter, but have found no clues as to what could possibly be the cause.
Due to the nature of the threat, it has been made every guild's #1 concern, and while not every guild has the members to actively contribute to the investigation, any and all clues to either the location of this being or how to fight it are to be sent directly to the Mage's Council. Guilds that provide verifiable info are also likely to be well compensated for their contributions.
The six-eyed Wolf isn't entirely unknown. It is actually known as a forgotten God of Liberation, Freedom, and Chaos, though it's actual name has been lost to time. A deity worshipped by a now-extinct people known as (pending-name) the Aevum that were said to have originated from the Valley of Ancients, some who studied the ancient writings of the Aevum note that the sight of this god's return I said to bring about the beginning of the return of the Gods to the realm of man. Thus a small rumor has begun to spread among guild circles, and from there, the general public.
The Mage council, however, thinks that someone is just taking advantage of this likeness to sow discord in preparation for something. Whatever the case may be, the hooded figure that is seen before the wolf strikes is said to be draped in a cloak inscribed with Aevic-script. So the current hooks for this would be either studying about the wolf and/or the Aevum, perhaps being an Aevum yourself(surviving through years through some magic shenanigans), or having had your town attack by this otherworldly being.
A mystery to Modern mages, this strange and monstrous corpse has stood in the northern reaches of Fiore since Ancient times, and stands as the beginning of a section of the land known as the 'Valley of Ancients'. Seeped in magical energy and home to no shortage of beings both fantastical and monstrous, it has often been considered a place one goes to test their might.
The Valley of Ancients is a place of many mysteries. . . and the target of many ambitions. The number of times that people have attempted to try and set up a presence within the region to take advantage of the natural abundance of Ether and magical materials, whether it be for their own personal benefit or to strengthen the nation of Fiore as a whole. Whichever the case may be, not a single one has been successful. In some cases, a few haggard survivors come crawling across the borderline, bloodied and barely clinging to life, speaking of monsters having beset their settlements who shrugged of powerful magics as if they were flies and roared with the force of hurricanes. Some come out of the valley with not a single mark on their bodies yet their minds utterly broken, staring out into the empty sky with empty eyes devoid of conscious thought. And lastly, there are those who just. . . vanish. Never to be seen again, yet at some point leaving mementos of their passage along the borderlines. Supplies, clothes, treasured mementos, and heirlooms. . . even children, swaddling babes wrapped in strange furs. Perhaps you character is one of these settlers coming back from the valley, forever changed in some way by what you've seen yet graced with some hidden knowledge or power? Or you are obe of the Children of the Vale, always seen as something separate and other no matter what you do, wondering about your origins as you feel a swansong call you into the valley's misty depths.
Locations
A village of shamans and alchemists that live beneath the Gyardian of the Valley(as the giant serpent is known) devoted to the harvest and study of the petrified monster. A great deal of magical components can be made from the solidified flesh, bones, and blood of the guardian, often purified and refined into crystal lacrima to function seamlessly with most magical technologies.
However, the work is not without risks, as the area around Blūdmach is an inhospitable marsh withthick crimson waters filled with a horrible poison. Some speculate it to be the blood of the guardian, others that it is the result of angry spirits cursing the land due to Man's defilement of an ancient god. Whatever the case, the town is completely dependant on trade routes for food, water, and other basic neccessities.
However, the work is not without risks, as the area around Blūdmach is an inhospitable marsh withthick crimson waters filled with a horrible poison. Some speculate it to be the blood of the guardian, others that it is the result of angry spirits cursing the land due to Man's defilement of an ancient god. Whatever the case, the town is completely dependant on trade routes for food, water, and other basic neccessities.
The City of White Harbor is an industrious Port that engages daily in the routine dangers of fishing, crabbing, whaling, and other such trades related to producing all kinds of quality goods for the rest of the Region. Being so close to the Valley of Ancients, it is not uncommon for the work to take a turn for the deadly as massive monsters attack hunting parties and fishing boats for daring to intrude upon their territory.
However, the people of White harbor are tough, stubborn, and practically born with an ax already in their hands. Magic runs deep in the veins of those who live here and is often needed to survive the harsh winters and harsher attacks by the fore mentioned monsters. Many don't really like the idea of opening up a mage's Guild within their walls, but given that the Guild's foundation led to the local tavern hall being renovated and adding another watering hole to the town, most will keep their complaints to themselves. Still, if a mage comes to the town expecting warm welcomes and smiling citizens, they're in for a rather rude awakening.
Hall of Errata
Dragon Slayers(Of the first generation) are transformed by the process of learning the magic, needing to consume the blood of the dragon teaching them in order to fully take on their traits. The exact nature of the transformation is similar to that of Witcher transmutation, albeit much, much less fatal. Still not pleasant as experiences go, but you'll likely survive the process with no outward differences. . . at first. This leads to the usual Slayer traits of enhanced senses, ability to consume magic, etc, etc. This does have the adverse effect, however, of making one take on the mental aspects of a dragon as well as the physical. Dragon Slayers are known to be confrontational, Aggressive, and possessive. Not only that, but many tend to overestimate their strength and think they can take on any and all threats that they encounter. The worse-off tend to even go looking for fights, and there are a few tales of dragon slayers going off into the Valley of Ancients. . . only to never return. This is an aspect that can be handled and somewhat suppressed through discipline and constant self-restraint, but it's something that Dragon Slayers must constantly be aware of.
God Slayers, however, must learn their magic through a form of ritual, of which the exact nature varies from Slayer to Slayer, but the one commonality is that in order to learn the style, one must "make themselves a vessel for the sins of Man." What this means is, ultimately, you must portion of a portion of your soul to be inverted and through this inversion, gain the ability to pull Gods and Spirits into the realms of mortality and thus render them vulnerable to the magic and weapons of men. God Slayer magic is also seen as dark magic, due to the fact that those who make use of it are often seen as giving up their humanity, tending to embrace their worst character attributes whenever they make use of the magic.
Devil Slayers, on the other hand, are basically people who have cursed themselves in mind, body, and soul. By taking in the demonic taint of Curses, they gain resistance to their influence and are able to even gain strength from it. However, the presence of a Devil Slayer is not welcomed by nature. They constantly exude an aura relating to the demonic curse they took upon themselves to initiate their transformation into a Devil Slayer, and often times, using their magic will negatively affect the environment.

Not yet, still trying to figure out a good format, though the actual info won't be much more thna your standard info for an rp. Name, Appearance, personality, Magic, history, etc, etc. The only real thing I want people to keep in mind as far as creation though is that, again, this isn't a guild that's been able to make much of a name for itself. Hell, it's only been officially active for 6-8 months, though it started operation closer to about a year prior to IC start. It's kind of an underdog story atm, so just keep that general feel in mind when designing characters.
Edit: I'm also setting up a discord that will become active either tomorrow or day after tomorrow. I just want to give the OOC some time to breathe and get some life to it, plus I need to make sure everything is Peachy in the Discord channels before I open it up to anyone.

Guild Membership Card
Oft described as in the upper tiers of B-Rank ascension has allowed her, along with her reputation as Harbor nobility, to become one of the more prominent members of Winter’s Blade. A Caster-type honed by her dual natures, Karna has become highly skilled with healing magic and light magic alike.
However, a guild brings social responsibilities… and Karna is not adept at dealing with such things despite her experience as a member of the Fiore nobility. Karna is cold like the ice and snow, remarks upon few words, and generally is awkward in any conversation that isn’t related to a niche interest or the logistics of Fiore politics. She doesn’t feel comfortable around gossip, loathes physical touch, and constantly over-analyzes herself and others despite most often not having all of the facts and figures to come to a fair or sensible conclusion. Put her at the front of a strategy game, intellectual conversation, or piano and Karna will fare well enough, but anything else? You may as well be talking to a snowman.
At 4’11”, Karna is on the shorter end of the spectrum, though northern Fiore also breeds a taller stock of people compared to the other regions of the Kingdom so she's one growth spurt away from joining the ranks of her bedfellows. In regards to her appearance, Karna’s hair is as white as snow or as glimmering silver as the moonlight. Her hair is worn long although she has worn it in many different styles throughout her teenaged years. Her eyes are a pinkish-red that at times can appear close to crimson, though such an appearance is rare as Karna’s resolve and temper are hard to inspire.
In terms of attire she wears conservative garb with long northern cloaks. A runestone amulet hangs from her neck indicating her membership of the royal ancestry of the ruling dynasty of White Harbor.

Karna has been a member of Winter’s Blade for the entirety of its creation, a situation that came to be when her father told Aiden Cross she would be put under his watch for "magical" reasons. She has found it a better place for her than sitting in isolation in her bedroom within the Great Hall of White Harbor and hopes to one day help it become the most prominent guild in all of Fiore.

Karna Belladawn is without a doubt, one of the coldest girls in all of White Harbor.
Born to the Lord of the Harbor, Karna has found herself in a particular political situation that seems to be the growing norm in Fiore. Future leaders masquerading as adventurers to find purpose and duty. Of course, Karna’s interest in “adventure” is a lot different than it might mean for older, more independent nobles. When it comes down to it, the only reason that Karna moved away from her father’s longhouse was largely due to her parents and their wishes for her to have more practical guidance and to find a way to cause her to remove herself from her shell. A future leader of White Harbor is not going to fair well with being docile and inexperienced, so it was decided for her that when Aiden Cross decided to locate his guild in White Harbor that it was the best opportunity to force Karna to be placed in a different environment. A place that expected her to do things.
This is not to say her father doesn’t have plans for her beyond the guild, but he needs her to be able to be confident if a budding marriage arrangement with the Iceberg Kingdom is going to work in the near future. It is worth noting that this is not a secret arrangement of any kind, either. Karna knows, albeit roughly, of the potential husband that her father is looking to as a future leader of the Harbor. Truth be told, Karna understands her responsibilities and her father’s expectations more than anyone else. This may be a testament to the fact that unlike other Fiore nobility, her father is aggressively honest with her about his plans and diplomatic ideas. The silver-haired girl still isn’t sure how to process her role, but it is what it is.

Inherited from her mother, Aina, Karna has had the ability to use Healing Magic since she was barely old enough to walk. An exceptionally rare form of magic with caster and holder properties, Healing Magic grants its users the ability of its namesake—to heal any kind of injury or ailment that can befall the mortal body. As someone who has been instructed and educated in its use since she was four-years-old, Karna has incredible aptitude with its use, though her main experiences with it have been healing the injuries of drunkards and fools. As can be expected this is not limited to healing injuries but sickness and weakened states due to afflictions created from magic.
Light Magic
In addition to her healing attributes on the magical side of things, Karna has the ability to mold light and shape it into beams or rays of energy to facilitate allies or knock back enemies depending on the intent. Karna has on occasion required to tap into this magic to create her weapon of choice, a staff forged entirely of elemental energy named Aer to help defend herself in clutch situations, though she insists she doesn’t like melee combat by any means.
White Magic
White Magic is a type of Magic that has various capabilities, ranging from being able to cancel out Black Magic to offensive purposes in combat. It is an advanced magic type that Karna has only just recently begun studying. She isn't too effective with counteracting curses and black magic yet.
Letter Magic
Letter Magic utilizes the words written by the user, with the effect varying depending on what's written, or how it's manipulated. As a lover of books and tomes, Karna uses this mostly for hobby-based purposes, though if needed she can use it to alert groups and magically scribe messages.
Requip
Karna uses requip to keep track of her extensive wardrobe on long journeys and to change her appearance on the fly.

Synopsis
Gwen Sniegow may be a tease yet cunning and wise, an Ice Mage whose heart ever-burns with unyielding resolve. She is the equal of Aiden Cross.
Once a Mage of the infamous assassin guild, Demon's Maw that Aiden fought for his deceased master in vengeance. Gwen has found herself walking in between the path of light and dark forever and ever. She seek not the forgiveness of her tainted youth but atonement through elimination of Dark Guilds for a better future for others to hold on to.
A Mage that uses unorthodox methods, beneficial to her Guild.
If the people of Fiore fancied Aiden for his strength, then they fancied Gwen for hers too. Gwen is among the prominent and high-end A-Rank members in Winter's Blade, the equal of the Northern Fang, Aiden Cross who saved her from the path of darkness. Of all Ice-Make Masters in Fiore, her finesse for the art not only made her a Master of Ice-Make but the Master of Ice-Make, surpassing the Northern Fang in the art as her mastery requires not the traditional two-handed form but mere thought and gesture. Together with Enchantment, Gwen can enchant destructive capacity aspect to Ice-Make and maximize molding to a level where she can mold sentient dynamic ice creatures.
Contrary to the name of her guild and Swordsman peers, Gwen prefers to wield a spear. Though one of the finest Mages, Gwen strives to learn better.
The only problem that Gwen poses to the public and her guild is her stripping habit, something that she picked up during her days in her previous guild whenever she's in a stealth mission. Nonetheless, Gwen shows little to no shame unless reprimanded even though she no longer has the same level of stealth, she still clings to the belief of eliminating physical restraints for better mobility. Gwen is jovial and recitent like a balancing scale of fire and ice, she makes keen observations before she act though sometimes she can be the opposite and ablaze like fire, other times she has dry sense of humor and sarcasm. She changes her mood almost instantly, which makes her unpredictable, she may be lenient but doesn't advocate nonsense. When in battle, she pshines as the fine warrior she is, a team player she is. Try romancing her? She's as dense as the ocean.

Gwen is an Enchanter whose specialty lies in enchanting Ice-related magic. She enchants strong damage aspect in Ice-Make, compensating its lackluster damage.
Ice-Make
A Caster Magic and a type of Molding Magic involving the creation of objects using ice, the practitioner may either verse in the Static form which is the generic style or the Dynamic form which deals with the creation of sentient sculptures, mastery of both forms is rare among its practitioners. The invocation of Ice-Make usually requires both hands to take effect and accurately cast spells, one-handed Ice-Make means instability, at least in most cases, and a handless version that is enacted by mere gestures means that the practitioner is an advanced user. Despite its non-powerhouse nature, Ice-Make is reliant on the creativity of its practitioner, it may as well be used in tandem with other forms of Ice Magic, and counter Slayers of this magic type.
Of all Masters of this magic, Gwen's reputation is not just a Master of Ice-Make but the Master of Ice-Make, her finesse in the art remains unrivaled as she maximizes it in the most creative way possible, with lesser use of the traditional two-handed form, she does it mentally and through mere gestures like snapping her fingers. Ice-Make is already an extension of Gwen's being, she manipulates the environment around her if it were to be a massive land of ice but not wholesome, though it may be risky, Gwen can redirect opposing Ice Magic back to her opponents depending on the strength of their spell. Gwen also resourcefully uses her blood in tandem with Ice-Make to bypass magic that requires to be bypassed by living things such as Arc of Time, and if that isn't enough, broken bits of her ice when countered by the opposing Mage can be manipulated from afar as homing projectiles or Dynamic creations, and she can also delay the process of her molding and surprise her enemies in their most vulnerable state.
Her moldings are so detailed that one would often confuse it to be a legitimate object or a living thing, that's due to her immense magic power. Gwen's signature battle cry is to hover around her opponents' by ice skating with a floor of ice and create diversions to attack at the most "unable to react to Gwen moment". Perhaps unrivaled sounded absurd if there's anyone that may come close to her skill, that would be Aiden or so they say. Gwen claims that to master Ice-Make, one must abandon physical restrains, in particular, clothing.

Brief History
Long story short, Gwen was born into the Dark Guild, Demon's Maw. She was screwed over by the guild since she leaked information during her espionage mission, and she had run for her life until she met Aiden and his Master. The rest is history since I need to talk to Raijin.

The idea has some potential, though I feel like I'll need some tweaked reasoming for why a former fae would be joining a guild as well as some other backstory deets. Also, I'd prefer the use of a traditional 2D style FC. Just to keep some aspect of visual cohesion amomg the roster.

Okay so, a quick note on Slayer types, in case anyone is thinking them up: The processes of becoming a slayer and what that means for the mage utilizing for the magic is going to be a bit different for each type of Slayer.
Dragon Slayers(Of the first generation) are transformed by the process of learning the magic, needing to consume the blood of the dragon teaching them in order to fully take on their traits. The exact nature of the transformation is similar to that of Witcher transmutation, albeit much, much less fatal. Still not pleasant as experiences go, but you'll likely survive the process with no outward differences. . . at first. This leads to the usual Slayer traits of enhanced senses, ability to consume magic, etc, etc. This does have the adverse effect, however, of making one take on the mental aspects of a dragon as well as the physical. Dragon Slayers are known to be confrontational, Aggressive, and possessive. Not only that, but many tend to overestimate their strength and think they can take on any and all threats that they encounter. The worse-off tend to even go looking for fights, and there are a few tales of dragon slayers going off into the Valley of Ancients. . . only to never return. This is an aspect that can be handled and somewhat suppressed through discipline and constant self-restraint, but it's something that Dragon Slayers must constantly be aware of.
God Slayers, however, must learn their magic through a form of ritual, of which the exact nature varies from Slayer to Slayer, but the one commonality is that in order to learn the style, one must "make themselves a vessel for the sins of Man." What this means is, ultimately, you must portion of a portion of your soul to be inverted and through this inversion, gain the ability to pull Gods and Spirits into the realms of mortality and thus render them vulnerable to the magic and weapons of men. God Slayer magic is also seen as dark magic, due to the fact that those who make use of it are often seen as giving up their humanity, tending to embrace their worst character attributes whenever they make use of the magic.
Devil Slayers, on the other hand, are basically people who have cursed themselves in mind, body, and soul. By taking in the demonic taint of Curses, they gain resistance to their influence and are able to even gain strength from it. However, the presence of a Devil Slayer is not welcomed by nature. They constantly exude an aura relating to the demonic curse they took upon themselves to initiate their transformation into a Devil Slayer, and often times, using their magic will negatively affect the environment.
